Petitti Garden Centers in other cities:
Bought a Nantha Bellum Palm and a oblong steel pot for it and paid around $19. I thought the price was fair for both items. The palm was half the price from what Lowes and Home Depot would have sold it for, and the pot is a perfect fit for my oval table. My one cat loves this plant and snacks on it from time to time. It is safe for cats.
I feel like a kid in a candy store when I come here. I love how the houseplants are separated by category (low light, bright light, etc) and the price and selection of their planters and pots are second to none.I’ve also had great experience with their workers. Really one of the best places for home and garden in the area!
Prices on somethings are great and not so much others. Sales are usually very good and a very large assortment plants, decor, seasonal items, etc... Overall a very nice establishment for houseplants, landscaping, supplies and some really unique seasonal decorations, gifts, and much more.
Bought 2 very expensive arbor vitas trees and they killed 6 of my other trees next to purchased ones, explained this to this place they didn’t respond nor want to return the trees, didn’t want to look up gift card and demanded receipt. So, big box will offer better product and return, sadly, better customer service.
I went to Pettitis on Monday hoping to get 2 or 3 Fuchias plants, among other plants. 149.00 later and no fushias, I was hopeful I could get them on Wednesday, but most likely on Thursday as told by one of gentlemen working in the plant area. I called on Wednesday only to be told they were expected in on Thursday. I called on Thursday only be told they had none left that they were completely sold out. I was disappointed to say the least. I then inquired about bougainvillea, only to be told they only had a few left.On Friday morning I decided to look on line to see what might be available that would work for me. To my amazement, I found 8 Fushias and 360 bougainvillea were available at the Boardman location. After pondering this information for a bit, I made a call to Pettitis and asked to speak to a manager. I was told the on line inventory is not accurate and they had no Fuchsia plants, only the 6 inch ones. So I inquired about the bougainvilleas. I was shocked at her response after a long pause.. The website is not accurate and the ones we have are not very nice. Not close to what they were last year. I do believe I was speaking with the same person I spoke to on Thursday. Pettitis is faikrlt new to me as we only moved here from Houston a few years ago. I will take my business elsewhere if this is how staff treat their customers.
Best selection in the area, they have just about anything you could want! Huge building full of patio accessories as well. Prices were middle of the road, not the cheapest and not the most expensive, but one-stop shopping and an experienced, helpful staff make up for that. Will definitely be back.
This place has some beautiful gardening decor & plants. Very helpful & friendly staff. However, I was disappointed in the annual flat selection, & had to get some annuals in the larger pots which were $5 each. Their perrenials are very nice but I think on a whole, this nursery is too expensive for my wallet.*UPDATE* 6/27I am not a novice gardener, so when I was planting everything, I noted the root systems were very weak to almost non existent. I planted them anyway, hoping they would make it. Big mistake! I lost all of them except about 6 plants out of 2 1/2 flats & 4 pots. Then I couldnt return them. I went to Lowes & Home Depot to replace them (at half the price) & they are thriving! So disappointed!
We were shopping for hydrangea trees. They are having a great sale right now on all hydrangeas and perennials. We found exactly what we were looking for. We had questions regarding the care for the hydrangeas and the soil. Nick helped us by answering all of our questions and providing really good information. He is very knowledgeable about growing different types of plants and vegetables not just the hydrangeas. He also shared with us their policy on their one year warranty and computer system. Our buying information is kept in the system so they can easily see what weve purchased for returns if necessary. This would also be helpful if we forget the name of the items we purchased. Overall very satisfied with todays visit.
We visited the Youngstown/Boardman center. The greenhouse has the most extensive selection of annuals and perennials in the area! It is huge, and worth the trip. The store is newly remodeled, clean and spacious, with plenty of outdoor decor and furnishings. Friendly and helpful staff, too!
Awesome lawn and garden center. Wide array of plants, bushes and shrubs. They are very accommodating too...they will fill requests for unusual items. They have a store that makes for fun browsing, and good prices on bird seed. Ask for a members discount card so you can take advantage of special pricing.
This was my first time at this garden center and I wont be going back it is a very nice store with many interesting things but their prices are just out of control I was charged $35 for a small 10-in hanging plant I have never in my life paid that much money and I have shopped at high end stores as well as local stores for flowers I will not go back there and shop again way overly priced.
This place is awesome! Recently renovated, its really a nice shop. Its really hard to get out of the parking lot some times, depending on time of day and traffic, but dont let that stop you from going. Large selections of really anything out doors related. Wish I would have gone here when I was looking for a new grill. 100% highly recommended you at least check them out when shopping for your home.
Absolutely love Petitti! They have remodeled and have lots of plants, trees, shrubs, bulbs, seeds, patio furniture and decorative products. I love how they have organized annuals, perennials and herbs you know exactly where to go for what you want! They take care of their plants and they are not small! I bought nice full pansy baskets and beautiful primrose ❤️
The newly renovated Petitti Gardens has a vast array of products for sale- surprisingly, they now sell just about everything. Products range from the expected plant, bushes, trees, planting soil, live herbs, lawn and garden ornaments, bird baths, gazing balls, fountains and patio, yard and sunroom furniture (including a massive table set that is priced at $4000, which is the 50% off sale price) to specialty foods in jars, pasta, a huge array of bath products, clothing including winter coats, cute and unusual greeting cards. The place is huge inside and then the back is all plants and that is also huge.Problem is, like most places, some things are very reasonable but many are very high priced. If you dont find something you live, you must be extremely hard to please!!!The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and very willing to drop everything to help.Since we were there on Saturday afternoon, it was somewhat busy but there are so many checkouts, there was no wait. My sister and I spent over an hour looking at everything, spent around $70 and had a fun time.
Website says open to 8 pm on Saturday. Stopped by at 7 pm and they were closed.Another bad experience at Petittis. Sadly, I needed to purchase some shrubs from them. But, of course, they were out of stock (despite being on their plant list from their website). So, I asked about ordering some plants. I was told to speak to someone in a yellow shirt outside. When I spoke to a yellow shirt, I was told that I needed to speak to Greg. Where is Greg? I dont know. So, I walked around looking for Greg. Finally, somebody got on the radio with Greg. Greg was in the bathroom. Apparently, theres only one person in the store who can actually do anything, and if hes in the bathroom, youre out of luck. I was going to buy some marigolds and start my search for Greg all over again, but the checkout line was 10 deep due to a lack of staff at the registers. So, I left after spending zero dollars as opposed to the $140 I had planned on spending when I arrived.I had trouble finding decent flats of annuals this year. Their begonias were puny in May. Now its June, and I could find a six-pack of yellow marigolds worth buying. It seems like once a six-pack of flowers is worth buying, Petittis immediately places each plant in a $4 individual pot. The message: grow your own annuals from seed in your basement because were going to screw you any way that we can.Overpriced patio furniture out the wazoo. After you hike through a couple acres of patio furniture for McMansions, you finally reach some plants. For a nursery, they have a puny selection of trees and shrubs. If you want a Bobo hydrangea, this is the place to go. Lots of Bobos.. If you want something different, forget it. The overall impression is that the owners have zero interest in plants and would be just as happy selling Chinese drywall, but they happened to end up in the plant business instead.
Fabulous remodel! But prices are through the roof! (Perhaps to recoup some of the remodel costs?) $8.99 for 1 geranium us way too steep for this old dawns budget. Too few staff, though the 1 I found had vast amounts of knowledge and was busy as a one armed paper hanger...
Not only do you receive professional and personal help, they also guarantee purchases for one year with receipt. (Never any problem - bring in plant or photos). Plus I love that all their plants are grown in our Northeast Ohio climate (Much more likely to do well)!!!!
Petitti is awesome! I talked to one of the staff there for like 30 minutes. They were happy to answer any of my question and were very knowledgeable. They didnt care I had so many question and had no clue what I was talkaing about. They also have a great selection all year long and they also have a great sale going on as well! This will be my go to place for buying landscaping all year long.
Well laid, ample amounts and varieties of offerings and a friendly and helpful staff make Petittis a fun place to shop come spring time. I have to give them a lot of credit for offering a consistently high level of quality gardening and lawn maintenance items.Been my fav for a few years now, especially their perennials.
Stepping into Petittis is always an experience. Fun, unexpected items are the norm! You will find the latest in convenience items for house plants! High quality, surprisingly large plants at reasonable prices for outdoor & indoor. Very warm, helpful service without being pushy.
One of the best garden centers un the area! Employees very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Also offered info on whatcyou may neef to plant the shrubs and flowers purchased. They judt dudca complete remodel ofvthe store in late winter and early spring. Fantastic place! Have rrferred freinds and family members. They arecalso happy!!
Very disappointed. I have been shopping at this Pettitis for many years; I used to shop at Pettitis in Cleveland when we lived there. Most of the stock today was the usual healthy stock that I expected, but a lot of it was dry, suffering the effects of being dry too often and for too long. Some other plants were overly wet and were diseased, moldy, and decaying. Angelo, are you reading this? You need to get into the store and set things right. We did find a lot of good, healthy stock, but there was a lot that was showing a lack of care. As to the new facility, there is no flow from front to back. Its an obstacle course. The first thing that I saw when I walked in was furniture. Most of the inside is furniture. Move that stuff out of the way. Get the tools and supplies out where we have free, easy access. Put the pots out with the plants where they belong. Id say that there needs to be another change in management. I normally make multiple trips to Pettitis each year, but I see no reason to go back this year. Maybe next year will be better.
Petitt Garden Center has been here for many many years and has contributed to my garden and landscaping for more years then I like to count. As a kid I remember coming here with my grandparents every Spring to get my Grandmothers flowers and other plants while my Grandfather and I would shop for veggie plants for the garden and for mulch to put around the house and flower gardens. I dont think there isnt many of us Youngstowners who either havent been there at one time or another or know someone who has, its just a fixture of Boardman. They have just about everything one could possibly need for gardening and landscaping.
So happy to see this wonderful store improvement in Boardman!!! I have been to all of the other Pettitis, within the Cleveland area, but now we have one, of the same magnitude, local!! Its a gardeners dream come true!! Thank you Angelo Pettiti and family!! It was also quite impressive to see Angelo in the store today!! Unique beautiful and healthy plants. Not to mention the huge variety of everything else pertaining to enjoyment of the outdoors!!!

2022-07-03So today I call the store and ask if they have any marigolds for sale. Their employee says yes, they are buy one get one free. So, I say if I buy them in the little 6 packs from a flat, the plants are still buy one, get one free ? She said yes. I go there and the wife wants a hanging basket as well. I said fine, they are buy one, get one free too. Pick out two. Ge get six of the little six packs of mairgolds from the flats and two hanging baskets and make our way to the register. The girl in charge says those hanging baskets arent included in the sale. Theyre tropical. And, the sale on marigolds is only if you buy a whole flat. I said I specifically called and asked about the marigolds and there is no sign saying some of the hanging baskets are not buy one get one free. She said call corporate HQ if youre dissatisfied. I will be taking my business to the locally owned greenhouses.

2020-08-21Love how they categorize the plants for you, and styles for your garden or anything you want. Love the quality of plants and the staff are friendly and helpful. So glad I found this gem, all the plants I have purchased from here are thriving.**update**Every time I visit, the service goes above and beyond. The indoor plants change pretty quickly, so if you see something you like I reccomend grabbing it before it is gone. All my plants purchased from here are still thriving!
