Like most chain pet stores they could work on their knowledge of exotic pets but for the most part it is a good store
I was in the Newark,Ohio store yesterday and I was so disappointed. I know most if not all of the staff is new but the store was not as nice as it used to be. We used the self serve dog wash and there was a big pile of dirty towels and no clean ones.Also we had one of the groomers trim our dogs nails and we stood and watched. She was fine. But a different groomer was combing out a very overweight and very old dog. It was either a retriever or Collie. It couldn’t get off the table so it was kind of pushed off and then it couldn’t stand up on the slippery floor partly due to its age and partly because the floor was slippery. So the girl dragged it by the collar. It looked so mean! The grooming room look quite dirty as well. Hopefully they will get their act together!
The dog wash area was terrible. Not cleaned or sanitized. Their was dog hair everywhere. The floors were so slick because of water. Dirty towels piled in the corner. The floors was disgusting with dirt and dog hair. Their was a shop vac just sitting their not being used. Their shampoo area was not filled or cleaned and they were clogged. The trash can was also filled and had not been emptied. The worst I have EVER seen that area. Looks like it had not been cleaned or disinfected for over a week. I will probably not be bringing my dogs back here.

Always go here for our pet food and supplies that we need. Great staff too! They are always kind and knowledgeable and ready to help with any questions we might have. Great prices and very clean and organized. The groomers are patient and kind and did so well grooming our shepherd.
The staff is wonderful and the prices are fantastic! I brought my dog in to use the self wash machine and get her nails trimmed and ears cleaned. The staff was kind and welcoming and they all showed care for my dog! I will most definitely be coming again and I highly recommend this place for dog owners who want to wash without having to clean up their bathroom after!
Visited for the first time with our pup today. Greeted by friendly staff along with a groomer, Heather. We were given information on grooming pricing and how to book. Prices seemed reasonable. We felt good enough with the conversation that we booked an appointment when we got home. There was a self wash station and the store was clean. Prices seem comparable to what weve seen at Petsmart but the store itself had a much friendlier atmosphere so well most likely be shopping here vs. Petsmart from here on.

They sell sick animals. Vet even contacted them asking them to pay the bill. They refused.

We have shopped at Pet Supplies Plus for the last few years now in store and online for our Dog treats and Cats food.When we place our orders online, they are usually ready when the estimate, my order iscorrect and they always leave personal notes to thank us and sometimes a sample of a treat to try!The Salon, our groomer is Chesney, has always done a wonderful, caring job with our dog Ellies’, appointment.
Everyone in the store is pleasant, professional and helpful. I have had to return/exchange items-and there is never any hassle. Its a great store to shop for your pets.

The Newark store has gone down hill lately. Store is cluttered and animal cages and fish tanks were the worst Ive seen In a long time! This also use to be the most reasonably priced pet store in the area with wide variety of supplies. Not anymore. I spent over $100 on fish supplies this weekend. (Ive been Going to petsmart) pet supplies plus didnt have much on their shelves (that I needed) so I decided to go to petsmart after. Needless to say everything I bought at petsupplies was double petsmart prices so I will be returning everything I bought from them. Its a shame. Pets supplies plus use to be the place to go. But they cant beat petsmarts rewards or sales! And Petsmart is ALWAYS clean! Maybe petsupplies shouldnt have added the dog bathing stalls and took out half their animals. Its just way to cluttered! Cassie always made sure that store was top notch. Whoever is in management now... eh! Wont be back for awhile!

I have no complaints about this place. Its closer than Petsmart is here, which is where I used to go in Columbus, and I can always find what Im looking for. They added a dog washing station, and I take my guy to get groomed here, as well.
Love using their self serve dog wash! You can buy 5 baths for 25 dollars. They provide towels and a variety of shampoo and a dryer. The tubs are raised and there is one thats made for smaller dogs so you dont have to bend over. I have a newfie and its so much easier to bathe him there than to try and do it in my tub at home.
Heather is an AWESOME groomer. The other associates are excellent too.
We took our Great Pyrenees here today to get groomed. They completely shaved him... Youre not supposed to shave a Pyrenees. Its going to take awhile for his beautiful coat to grow back. The groomer should know what they can and cannot do with certain breeds. My poor dog doesnt look like my dog anymore.Update:I changed this from a 1-star to a 3-star. We received a refund for the grooming. The supervisor was extremely nice and accommodating. We hope in the future the groomer knows what they can do with certain breeds.

Always been our favorite place to shop for our dogs. Just found out about delivery options so I tried them out for the first time today. Not only was my delivery free, I also saved $5.- on my order since they send me a coupon. Thank you Pet Suplies Plus for the great deals, quick delivery and the nice handwritten note and treats (food sample). You guys are truly the best!
We purchased a parakeet today. I wasn’t impressed at all with how the managers attitude was, not just towards us as customers but to her own coworkers! The poor kid that was helping us was clearly uncomfortable with handling the birds and the manager stood there watching.. was rude as all get out to us. Finally she stepped in and was so rough and stressed the poor birds out so badly that the one we were bringing home had a broken blood feather which thankfully I looked in the box and realized as he was actively bleeding... All is well now but I just couldn’t imagine someone with such a poor attitude towards customers and her own staff as well as total disrespect for the animals could be in that position! Whoever the kid was that was trying to help us... I’m so sorry that the entire situation was that stressful! You were very kind and you handled everything well! But my lord what a stressful work environment!

I moved to Newark from Columbus in October, and with moving meant finding a new pet store to pick up the odds-and-ends of owning special-needs cats, roughhousing dogs, and lazy arachnids. I had been making special trips to my old pet store to pick up crickets... Then I got a coupon in the mail, so I gave this place a shot - turns out theyre fantastic. Huge selection of everything one could need for any variety of animals. And, the employees were nice!
Didnt stay long. Plenty of different pet foods. Including organic brands. I went in to get a cat toy for Princess Noodles. Reasonable price.
Very impressed with the way this business is handling customers during this trying time. I ordered online Sunday morning and by noon they called and said my order was ready. And when I picked it up, they had thrown in samples of some of their other products and had a cute little thank you note!!

I go here to get my puppies shots at the clinic and they do amazing with him. I also just took him to get his nails done and the lady who did them was amazing! I couldnt get him to hold still enough to clip them but she did awesome even when he was licking her glasses off. The staff are always friendly and ask to give him treats. Will continue to go here.
Ive been going here for the last couple of weeks to stock my fish tank. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and Judy (I think) is extremely knowledgeable about fish. If your fish die in the first couple of weeks, the return policy is not a hassle. Also, their prices are comparable and frequently better than you can find online. You can find better selection in other places, but the selection on freshwater fish was actually better than I expected it to be.
Too expensive
Placed an order for the only food my cat will eat. I wait the 2 weeks and go in on the day I was told it would arrive. Go in to pick it up for them to have no food or acknowledgement that the order was even placed. They mumbled something about COVID, which has nothing to do with their ability to pick up a phone and tell me my order didnt come in before I made a wasted trip in for it. Had almost the exact same issue with another location, except they managed to call me while I was in route. What a mess.
Customer service iscamazing!!! I love the area where I can wash my own dog, and they provide the towels, a variety of shampoos, and a great dryer. My dog receives a lot of attention. Wonderful place.
Ordered online pickup and waited 20 minutes for someone to bring out my bag if dogfood. I watched several customers go in and come out. I finally went in and got it myself. I did it so I didnt have to go in!

One of my favorite pet stores. They sell all the higher quality foods at better prices than Amazon. Their selection of food puzzles beats everyone in town! They also carry the exceptionally tough stuffed toys from Go Dog, may favorite brand of dog toys as they last the life of your dog. If you like to spoil your dog, this is the place!

Does this store even have a manager? I hate that I have to even go there. Today the clerk humiliated me as I went to a self-wash Bay, only to literally shout across the store you can only use one at a time. Hmm, there were NO signs, tape, etc that would have indicated this. I asked her three times to put up a sign that would prevent another customer from this embarrassing situation, and she would not. Come on people, act like you have some sense!
The staff was amazing and helped me find what I need for my new addition. They were very educated about what foods were good for a dog and which ones were just cheap. Staff was extremely kind and helped me save money. I wish this one was closer to me!

Tried the self wash dog station! It was great. Super easy to use and the hours are great for a working dog mom ! We got the dirty dog card and will continue to have our quick baths here !
Had to return an item, took it back without question. Staff interested in care of pet, great conversations, helpful. I even needed a tape measure and they took time to find one. Offered services to house sit pets as well. I dont travel to this location often but when I do they are attentive to my needs.
I love this store. The clerks are very friendly. They have most of what I need for my furry family members on hand. They also price match Amazon, Chewy, or wherever you find a lower price online. This is far above your average pet store. I most definitely prefer it over Petco and Petsmart!

I was recently sold a new fancy syrian hamster from pet supply plus and discovered soon after that it in fact had a very very contagious disease called wet tail, me and my sister didn’t know about what all wet tail involved until we did research and figured out that it makes hamsters aggressive towards other hamsters and humans ect. It also causes them to be fatigued, lose interest in eating and to have diarrhea while also having a very high chance of death. we have another fancy shorthair hamster (winnie) which we purchased from florida, we let them meet for a moment before we did our research about wet tail without knowing at that moment our hamster (winnie) was going to get infected with this disease.

We have two leopard geckos and they will only eat live food and several times I have bought wax worms from their cooler and when I get to stirring them around half of them are dead and discolored. Use them as a last option to get by until I get to the other pet store. But excellent dog treats.

After I had just lost my axalotl they did everything they could to help me start my tropical tank for my daughter, every other pet store I went to was disgusting & rude to say the least. All of the fish were healthy from pet supplies plus and the staff was just amazing. I even made so many trips I lost my receipt and was told if anything happened to any fish to bring them back and they made it so easy and calming when just pulling me up as a customer and replacing my pleco. I will always pick this store even for the drive!
I only get pet stuff here. I have 3 crazy cats and when we were having food issues I was able to return unused for another brand. Also, they always help carry heavy stuff to the car.

Pretty large selection for dogs, cats, and all kinds of pets. They have a treats section that i splurge on for my dog occassionaly, the stuff that looks like homemade cookies. It is a little pricey though, most things you can get cheaper at other stores or online. EDIT: Just learned that they price match, love that!They have small pets here too like fish, kittens, lizards, and ferrets and all the supplies you would need for them.

Everything is great except for I would like to see them get live mice back. When I buy the frozen mice somethings not right with them and Ive had two snakes pass from eating them. Ive had snakes for over 15 years now so Id say the experience level I always the fact that you should either get live mice or find another producer for your feeder mice. Try Rodent Pro. I would buy from them but the shipping for one person on one order is ridiculous. Also driving to Westerville every time or Newark is bad enough.

Always liked specials and lower prices, but just discovered they are hosting VIP pet care clinics monthly. Having multiple pets, this is an excellent way to get their vaccines and save money, they are seen by a veterinarian and vet techs, very nice.

Not a good manager. They didnt have what we wanted in stock. The store only a floor model which they were willing to sell but not supply instructions for assembly and wasnt willing to disassemble it for us they wouldnt sell the product at a discounted price or sell the one they had for same price. Went to walmart got the better model same brand better price

Well I was only buy there i think went to the vet place for my two cats
Large selection of aquatic life and plants to select from. Downside is I saw dead and dying fish in every tank and those were yet living looked to be in shock.. I.E. rapid respiration/disorientation. When I approached the young lady that was tending that area I was met with shoulder shrugging and a blatant disinterest. Fumeing I quickly selected some plants and the healthiest looking twig cat and left. The cat fish died on the way home a distance of under 5 miles. I frequent this location weekly often spending 2-300 a month in aquatics and supplies. Im so apauled at the general callousness and lack of duty/responsibility the employees felt towards the livestock ( no one was even actively seeking a answer as to why the huge die off was happening).. I will not be returning to ur store. Hire people with a sense of duty and the knowledge to remedy problems with the health of their charges and I may return.

2022-04-08The pet supplies are decent enough. A bit over priced and slim pickings in the small animal section. Since they bathe dogs, the store does smell really bad. The employees leave something to be desired. The last one that helped us didnt say a word to us. She didnt even use our Pet Supplies Plus Card. 2021-11-23Update: I originally didnt say anything about my 5 star review. I love this place for their crickets, sorry if thats a bit weird! The crickets I get from here live for months, seriously! I cant get quality crickets from anyone else! It makes sense that the crickets would be so healthy because all of the animals in the store look very happy and healthy. The fish tanks here are natural and gorgeous, something you dont typically see in a pet store. The staff here definitely care about the animals --it shows! They have such good crickets that I have taken them to my friends in other cities to share and show off. I hope to get my crickets here for years to come

2021-01-19We always get our dog groomed here. Heather is wonderful with our somewhat nervous poodle! She knows exactly what she needs to help her relax for her groom. Penelope always looks great! Also, they have nice cookie treats that are not very expensive.

2022-01-06I gave my dog a bath here today. Better than bending over a bathtub.Only $10 per bath and they supply the towels, shampoo and dryer. Just wish for winter dryer would blow out warm air instead of cold air.
