I took my dog to get neutered, microchip and a puppy tooth pulled.Dr. Morris, Tina and Becky went over and above to make Archie feel comfortable. They were so attentive and even made me feel good about leaving my pup.Thank you for such great serviceOur animals mean the world to us
So I waited in a line for 3 and a half hours to schedule my two cats to get fixed. We scheduled about a month out. They didn’t give me a time. A card. Anything. So the day before I look up the hours. They opened at 12. I came in and they said I should have been there at 9 am and they can’t reschedule us for another 2-3 months. I drove an hour each way for this
Brought my dog here for odd behaviors like not eating and acting tired, and MULTIPLE physicals. We were told she just had arthritis and gaining weight. A month later I took her to the emergency vet for a swollen stomach and same symptoms. She had a MASSIVE tumor that could erupt with any movement too sharp, killing her instantly. Surgery wasnt even an option at that point. We put her down the next day to save her from the rupture. There is no way this couldnt be found in the many physicals by Pet guards. Theyre all volunteers here, which is great, but not at the price of my dogs life. Go somewhere else.
I definitely recommend PetGuards. The people there are incredibly caring and patient with my old dog. Also excellent with my two other dogs. Dr. Morris takes the time to talk with you about your pet and follow up with any additional information. I was able to get the blood test results while I waited. The prices are so reasonable you will be able to afford to take care of your pet! Thank you!
CUYAHOGA falls- state rdAfter trying to call Several times with no one ever answering the phone I stopped in. Before I could even get through the door the lady was hounding me. (As if they were bored- maybe on drugs maybe both) So I asked if I should come around to the front of the desk . This would bring us actually face to face to have a proper conversation. She asked how she could help, before I could get much out she was interrupting me. I let her finish what she had to say which was nothing important or anything to do with my question and left! It was an awful experience and will never go back! She was extremely rude with your words and etiquette!
I usually have good experiences, but this time i seemed to get the elderly bunch that doesnt particularly like their jobs, and took their good ole time doing what they do and giving shots without even telling us what they are for. The lady at the counter was a little more friendly. Just obvious a visit you get what you paid for...but dor 2 cats with flea medicine, it was still 200!
I always take the puppies to Pet Guards!! The veterinarian is always kind and willing to answer any questions about anything! The fees are incredibly reasonable and the facility is always clean!! Most importantly to our family, theyre not discriminating in any way!! My biggest baby, Major, is a 90lb APbT who believes hes a lap dog and the staff at Pet Guards treat him just like we do at home. Until you have experienced Peg Guards you have only been to the rest because these guys (& gals) are the best!! Thank you for everything! Major & Hazel Jones Jr. 😊💪🐕🐶
Dr. Morse was excellent. He was honest with me and instead of selling me the $250 dental cleaning I took my dog in for, he recommended antibiotics to relieve gum infection. He said we could consider a cleaning if the antibiotics did not help. Yesterday was the final day of antibiotics for my dog, and he’s made marked improvement. Pet Guards not only saved me time and money, but also suggested what was in the best interest of my dog. That’s what I really ask for in a vet. All of the rest of the staff were amazing people as well, and I’d highly recommend this location to anyone.
They dont handle absolutely everything here, but if you are willing to wait your pet can be seen for minor illnesses. My regular vet (as most do right now) has had really long wait times to get appts, so its nice to have another option. Their spay and neuter prices are very reasonable.
The staff and Dr. was really nice. But they didnt help my cat. He had went in for a cold and they gave him an antibiotic and a steroid shot, and 3 days later he was still sneezing. You cant call them cause they dont answer the phone and I live far from them, and with my work schedule its hard for me to get him there with there hours.
Long wait (about 2 hours) but I expected this for a Saturday. My vet I had for many years now works there and was happy to see him. Everyone was pleasant except for an older man that was there upon check in. Right away he said the vet may send my dog to emergency and when I tried to explain it wasnt an emergency, thats why I came there, he got nasty and repeated about my dog going to emergency. Funny because a sign on the outside their door said dont come in if you cant be nice or something like that.Miss my vet but not sure I would go back.
They are so amazing here! Took care of my fur baby (cat) and answered all of my questions. Its first come first serve for regular visits. Drop off times are in the morning, perfect if there is a surgical procedure that needs to be done. And the pick up times are like from 12-545, extremely fair! So affordable for me, so I can take care of my fur baby!! The parking lot is clean, they do have a porta potty, which is ok with me and the facility is very clean. (Considering how many people and animals are there at a time) If I ever need help with my fur baby I will definitely be back and continue going back for all his needs. I highly recommend them for anyone that needs vet care!! A++++ in my book!
So if youve never been here before, you have to wait outside in your car with your pet and theyll come out and put your name on the list and then come out again and call you when its your turn. Theres a first time fee of $20, and everything is super affordable here. The people who work here are nice and clearly love animals, and I recommend this place to everyone I know.
So Ive been calling this location (and their location in Green) for 2 weeks trying to get my dog in for a sever ear infection. The line rings then goes to voicemail saying the location is open and states the hours. I left a message for someone to call me back so we can get him schedule (not sure what the procedures are since Covid). No one called back. I decided to go to the Cuyahoga falls location on my lunch break to see if I could schedule in person. Once there, the nurse says theyre doing walk up appointments only. Not a big deal. I just wish they wouldve stated that in the voicemail message or someone could have called me back and let me know what the procedures were. I usually take my dog here for all his vaccines and check ups but I have to find some where I can get scheduled due to my work schedule and their hours of operation. I gave 1 star strictly for the way they are handling the visits, and not informing patients in the voicemail that it is by walk up only, the fact that NO ONE ever answers the phone at either location AND that no one reached back out to me. So unprofessional.
I had such a wonderful visit because everything was explained to me about my cats injuries that the emergency clinic staff that i took my cat to didnt explain to me. Cause I had a lot of questions and the veterinarian and staff at Pet Guard answered everything. Keep up the wonderful job. 😺😺😺😺
They won’t take appointments over phone so you have to drive there to make appointment and I drove there only to be told they are not taking new patients! If you are not taking NEW patients SAY SO on the 3 minute message I had to listen do. Not to mention drive 20 minutes to get there.
I got turned around because i didnt have a muzzle. I didnt know you had to bring your own. But other than that the prices are excellent so i cant be mad . The rabies vaccine i came for i was told would only be $20 with a $33 and some change hospital fee. I came expecting to spend well over a hundred .Would most definitely recommend. They do not do lab work and anything outside of basic services such as vaccines, minor cuts and minor wellness issues
Great staff Laura, Dr. Molly, front desk! All wonderful patient caring people. Walk in service. Super fair prices! Probably best pricing around. Did great with our anxious difficult big adopted dog that was so fearful and scared. We will try to come whenever we can with all minor issues, nails, vaccines, etc.
I havent going to pet guards in green for several years. They are always so nice and friendly and I never had an issue. I recently switched to the one in cuyahoga falls because it is closer to me. I have had nothing but issues. The front desk guy is so rude and telling me I cant bring my cat to get his nails cut during the summer because it is too much for them to handle and that I need to go somewhere else and this was after i was told 2 months ago that they couldnt cut his nails because it was heart worm season. I have been going to this company for several years every 1-1.5 months and was never told this. When I asked about it they just told this is the way it has always been. I would have been okay with everything is someone would pick up the phone when a customer called and wasnt rude when speaking to a customer. Other than that the place is great. The vet techs are so nice and good with my cat and he loves them. I just dont think I keep jumping through hoops when he needs his nails done.
No-frills approach, COMPLETELY awesome staff, lowest prices anywhere in two counties. This and their satellite branch in Green are the only veterinary facilities we’ll go to. Be prepared to wait, and check their limited hours, but sure beats getting gouged by other vets.
I couldnt believe how considerate, friendly, thorough, and all-around wonderful the vet who runs this clinic is. He sincerely cares about your pets health and makes sure that you completely understand what needs to be done and your options. The only negative thing is you cant call the office. Whenever I tried to call its a generic message and you can only leave a message for scheduling a neutering, which I did and no one EVER called me back. BUT Im sure they get a multitude of calls asking the same questions so I can understand in order to keep their prices down they keep the staff small. So I can totally over see that especially after I met the vet and wish he had a private practice
Definitely my favorite veterinarian to go to he has put my pups down in the past which I may add has been the most comfortable experience. But not only that, I travel to the Kent office for more extensive treatments or diagnosis. They have more tools there for things like eye and ear sight and hearing tests but overall for your pet check ups this location is perfectly fit for your pets!💯💯🤘🏼👌🏼😇😇
This is such a wonderful facility for your pets veterinarian needs and at a low cost for their services makes this place hard to beat. I felt like the staff and vets truly cared about my animals needs and always made us feel welcome. A truly fantastic experience here.
Our pets have been going to this extremely affordable clinic for over a decade. Volunteer staff is very kind and imagine if vets are volunteering their own time to a non profit I couldnt imagine my pets going anywhere else. Only downfall is they dont have phones but I understand the cost and rates are cheaper due to the lack of a receptionist. Still a wonderful place.
This place truly CARES about your experience and your pets well being, and for me, thats all I care about. Yes its busy. Yes, theyre terrible at answering their phones (but they DO return their messages) But the amount of care their staff provides is outstanding. The one nurse came and talked to my clearly frightened/sick cat while I was was trying to get my dog to behave. I would recommend this place 1000 times over and have many times.
Great service at a reasonable price. These drs really have your pets best interest in mind and are not about filling their pockets. Another Falls vet told us our dog needed knee surgery on both legs (over $ 2000) when he was a puppy. He said hed be torallt crippled eventually-11 years later he still runs like a bat out of you know where and did not have the surgery!!
Its ok for routine shots. But, I did not feel safe as mask use was hit or miss. They did social distance us and the greeter wore a mask, initially. I did not appreciate being in a tiny examination room while the tech did not wear a mask! Shame on me for not walking out.The vet who examined my pet did wear a mask. One staff member came from the back office & sat right next to a customer simply to visit their pet-without a mask! I left feeling like the $$ I saved wasnt worth the risk & that this shelter wasnt too concerned with anyones safety. In contrast my regular vet wont even let you in their door. They are serious about keeping everyone safe & Pet Guard was seriously lacking. Too bad.
I drive 30 minutes to come here. They are affordable and are all good with all my animals ! The one older vet lady was a little rude answering my questions because I didnt understand but she was awesome with my pet, and thats all that matters. All the other employees seem nice and compassionate.
Took 2 cats to get shots to travel out of state the staff was helpful and friendly. Since I knew it was a first come first serve facility I came when it opened and was able to be the second in line so the wait wasnt long. They use a paper number system at the door for the walk in clinic but surgeries are scheduled. Price was outstanding much less than others quoted me.
The lady who is heavier set with short red hair is a very nasty rude person and very unperfessional! First off...she rudley tells us to social distance and get back in our cars from standing in line waiting for them to open. Everyone in line was 6ft apart and everyone had a mask on. But funny bc she wasnt wearing a mask. Then when I told her another employee told us someone would be out shorty to give us numbers. She rudely snapped back and said she was the one who hands out numbers. Then when she asked what I was there for she said my kitten had to be 4 months old to get FIV/ Feline Leukemia tested. Which i knew wasnt right so I still went to see the vet. When we went into see the vet he said the kitten was about 12 weeks to 3 months old and they could absolutely do test. I let him know.one of his employees said otherwise. The vet was so nice and so was the lady at the front desk. However on my way out I told the lady with the short red hair that the vet was able to do the test and she very rudley snapped back and said good for you. I cannot believe this woman. She needs to learn some manners!
God bless Dr. Morris at the Cuyahoga Falls pet guards clinic. I have a 16-year-old cat that is beginning to fail and he understands the decisions that I’m facing. He was so kind and is helping me keep my cat comfortable. I can’t say enough about the staff there either. They’re just wonderful
Great adorable place to go for shots and other small things. As well as getting your pets neutered ans spayed. You do take a number and they go in order. Go early if you can and youll be the first in line and not have to wait long. I love their vet and my dog was being a pain and pulling on the leash when I was pregnant and one of the ladies there let me into her office while I waited.
They need to update their hours of operation, here its August and theres still no word on what days their open! Plus you can barely understand the person on the recording when you do call, and thats all you get when you call is a recording! Very unprofessional, they sure have gone downhill!!!
Nice reasonably priced services. Good place to go for vaccines or small issues without breaking the bank. Only problem Ive run into is its very difficult to reach them by phone if you have a problem after a surgery performed there or issues along those lines - not from my personal experience but from hearing this from their clients where I worked (emergency animal clinic). A bit out of the way for me to go to but worth it in $ pinch
Princess Chloe- Olivia and I were very pleased with the care we were given by the staff and the doctor at pet guard they will forever be dear to us, they showed us both love and compassion for what my baby had to go through I am very thankful and very blessed to have been told about Pet Guard and we are spreading the word to everyone we know who have little loved ones.
I have been going here for three years and have had consistently positive experiences. I am a part-time teacher with no income in the summer so I was worried about costs! However, today I got my dog Rabies, HeartWorm test, and Heat Worm meds for $70 total. Pet Guards understands the struggle of low income people who love their animals and there is no office visit fee when you walk in. The clinic doctors are super friendly, caring and kind, and the front staff are so nice and understanding! The young lady at the front window today took time to review the cheapest options for my dogs heart worm medicine and I am so grateful that this place exists! I highly recommend it and my dog would give Pet Guards two paws up and a lick. Thank you!
Very disappointed- drove 45 minutes, then waited an hour to be seen, only to be turned away and sent to a pet hospital—that hospital is appointment only and Pet Guards knew that. Pet Guards has seen my dog (and other pets in the passed) - was shocked at the service. (She only needed antibiotics).
We brought in a stray cat on 2/17/17. The cat was with us for about 2 weeks. Without a history, we were not sure where to start, but the staff was very nice and helpful. The first check was to see if she was spayed, and to our amazement, this little stray was. Dr. Morse scanned the cat for a chip and that was positive also. Some calls were made and we find out the cats home was just a short distance from our home. We got the contact info from the Dr. and there was absolutely no charge for any of the services performed. We texted the owner, a got a reply. Animal was missing for four months and they had given up hope. We are returning the cat to the owner today. Thank you Pet Guards staff and Dr. Morse.
Online on their website it says a declaw for a cat that is over 10 pounds is $175. It states this includes food, pain meds and litter. There is a $2 surcharge for charity. So I’m assuming my bill is $177. They call me to tell me it is $207 and some change. I tried to call back but they never answer their phone. So I called the one in uniontown and told them. They said it was an error online. My husband went to pick up our cat and they refused to honor the price and charged me even more than what they quoted me at the $207. I will not be returning here. And if you don’t want to be lied to and ripped off I would suggest not going there either.
I recommend spending the extra money to go to a professional vet. Trust me, this place is not worth the money you will save.I walked in and was told to take a number. So I took my number and sat there for 20 minutes while four ladies stood behind the counter just chatting...never called my number. Then I see a couple walk in the door with their dog, go straight up to the counter, and got checked in right away...never told to take a number or anything. So I walked up to the counter again, and said that I needed to be checked in. Their response? Take a number.I sat in the waiting room and listened to multiple customers complaining about their wait time and the lack of organization here. One lady finally stopped a staff member and explained that she had been waiting for an hour and a half while other customers who came in AFTER her were being seen first. The employee told her that dogs who are only there for shots are given priority (which is all my dog was there for, so this explanation doesnt make sense). Not to mention, this shouldnt be the case anyway. A professional organization would see their walk-in customers in the order that they arrive (and check them in in the order they arrive for that matter...) Anyway, the employee comes back and tells this lady there are only 2 people ahead of you. Then we all sat there as 4 more names were called before this lady was taken back....Another experience as Im sitting in the waiting room: a dog had a little accident on the rug. Ok no big deal, it happens. So the owner walks up to the counter to let the staff know, and they did NOTHING about it! Didnt even bother to come clean it up or sanitize...nothing! That is absolutely disgusting and unsanitary. Im glad I got up and left before they gave my dog any shots because who knows how dirty those needles would have been.I advise finding somewhere else to take your pets.
On a Thursday, I took my 7month old kitten to be neutered and get shots. He died before sunrise Saturday morning. I followed all direction he did not show any signs of complication, he just died. He was fine before the surgery. You have to sign a waiver that says Pet Guards is not liable for things like this. I know they are pets, not people, but the sadness is still there. I should have paid more, and went somewhere else. Maybe there are vets who want to be held accountable, who want to be liable for harming your animal, i don’t know. I just don’t suggest you go here.
I brought my pup here a few years ago to get neutered, the staff then was friendly and did the job without an issue. No infection or problems. Today I went in just to get a checkup for my pup, things just havent been right with him lately. Didnt even make it past check in. I wanted to get a heartworm test done, the man at the counter rudely told me I was way too late and had to have it done in April. I didnt know that but I understand, anyway he treated me like I was some irresponsible pet owner, giving me an attitude about it. I also wanted to get a blood test to make sure everything was fine. Once again i was given an attitude. You wont find anything. You dont know that. Finally I told him my dog was itchy and having problems digesting his food and he tells me its probably fleas. I know for a fact he doesnt have fleas as i check him regularly, but same as before I was given an attitude and told I didnt know for sure. Hes a short hair dog? I think I would see them. And fleas wouldnt make his paws itchy and cause him to throw up. I wanted him tested for allergies and he told me they couldnt do that there (understandable) and gave me the the number of their dermatologist who would be more than happy to do it for $290 a dog. His attitude was unbelievable though. Theres a reason why I came here. For easy affordable pet care and I was treated like I was stupid for asking for a few simple tests. Sorry I couldnt call because you guys dont answer your phones. Re-staff the check in counter and fix those issues and maybe Ill come back. Ive never been treated like this, Im concerned about my dog the least you could do is not blow me off like Im an idiot. Went to my normal vet and he happily did a heartworm test and listened to my concerns. Paid a bit more than I wanted to but its worth it to be treated like a person and receive proper veterinary care.
My mom took our cat here to get fixed. When she came to pick it up, it wasn’t there. They gave it to the wrong person. Supposedly an older gentleman came in and said it was his. She finally found the cat after getting in contact with the old man, and clicking a cat food can around a few blocks in a strange neighborhood... but seriously, what kind of place gives away a pet by accident to the wrong person?? Unreal. I hope no one chances taking their pet here... they don’t deserve the business AT ALL.
Dont go here. The Manager Jaime is very unprofessional and rude and cant handle basic customer service. Started a fight with me over her bad attitude and inability to hear or care what I, the customer was saying. Then tried calling the police on me, for her wild attitude. Last time I checked buying flea medication is an easy thing that doesnt require calling the police on your customers for no reason other than your bad attitude. Mean old ladies up in there stay away!
I have been going to pet guards for years, as their vaccines are most affordable. Today I went to have a well check up for my dog. We go into the room, the vet comes in and listens to our dogs heart. She then in a panicked sounding voice says we need to leave right now and go to hospital or our dog is going to die. She told us our dog was in congestive heart failure. Not ever expecting this type of news I allowed my 9yr old dtr in the room, she heard this and naturally broke down into hysterics. We rushed to the Metro Vet Hospital, tell them what we were told by the vet at PetGuards they immediately take our doggie back. After a couple hours doing blood work and x-rays totaling over $400 we were told she is not on heart failure she just needs a little cough medicine. I am so relieved that the Pet Guards vet was wrong but Im also incredibly cross that they would diagnose something like this without being positive. Incredibly unacceptable.
Quality Care--only issue is with the check in--been messed up couple times. We check in & get lost in the shuffle - others came and went, another client also mentioned to the lady as he was leaving that we were there prior to his arrival--her reply wasnt very professional
I called them 25 times to check on the status of my animal who was having surgery and what time I needed to pick them up, they refuse to answer the phone and send the call to voicemail every time. Very unprofessional behavior when you’re dealing with nervous parents of animals.
They did a good job on my male cat nutering him i no longer have him anymore cuse somebody stole my cat but now ive had a female cat for three years i have been unemployed due to my own health issues anyways my cat she is the nicest cat ive ever had problem is i dont have any monies to get her shots and apayeded and she hoes into heat every couple months and up until recently she started lashing out and biting me and growling at me anytime i even get close to her rear end or tummy yoy know when im petting her can someone help me shes all i got in this crazy world its just me and her we have been thru alot together and im scared that im losing her please anyone have mercy on my kitty and me and help us pleaae
Have been trying to call to get information about a cat Im getting from someone and they dont know what shots the cat has. No one answers the phones or returns calls here. Have called several times. Wouldnt recommend ever going here as that is extremely unprofessional and suspicious
I have tried calling all the numbers listed on the website to set an appointment for my cat. I have called for about a week now, because i havent had the time to go in and make an appointment. I am vert upset with this. If you have a number to call and make appointments, YOU SHOULD ANSWER THE PHONE!!

2022-08-05This place rocks! The receptionist was friendly, the doctors were nice and competent and the pricing was extremely reasonable. I walked in the back door and was seen within 10 minutes so they were not busy at all. It was a great experience, like always. Ive been coming here for years and will definitely be coming back. I cannot say enough good things about them. I would give it six stars if I could. I have had most of my cats spayed/ neutered here and they definitely take care of you.

2022-06-18Brought my 2 new kittens in today and everything was fast and the ppl were super nice and recommended or explained things. Definitely going back. Kittens are too small for the vaccine but got dewormer and mite treatment. Promptly falling asleep on the way home after all the excitement.

2022-05-02New pet mom! I’ve never had a pet and the team at Pet Guards made me feel comfortable and gave me so much advice to help me out! I was in and out without an appointment and they were busy.

2022-07-04Always seems to be busy lately, but thats indicative of their amazing service, friendly attitude, helpful advice, and unbeatable prices.Ive been going here for decades and most recently had my puppy spayed and it was the smoothest, most reassuring procedure Ive ever dealt with. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes for both drop off and pick-up. All my questions were answered before I even asked them.

2022-06-06Every person we interacted with at Pet Guards was friendly and helpful with the attention our dog needed. They were very very busy and the way they handled was professional, friendly and efficient. The front desk person was so nice you had to do a double take but she was in fact just very friendly. Not the place you would go in an emergency situation but thats probably a given. A+ team all around!

2022-05-22This place is excellent, they got me in when 4 other veterinarians told me it would be at least a week. Well that wasnt going to do because my dog had an ear infection but Pet Guards Clinic said come in immediately. The vet was extremely nice and my dog liked him too. I would recommend highly!!

2022-07-22Don’t believe any of these other positive reviews!!! This clinic isn’t worth the wait just to save a little bit. I promise you will not be in and out quickly that is not how this business is run to make sure this greedy veterinarian makes his money. The business runs at low cost because they will see as many pets at possible at the same time. So when you read reviews that say in and out quickly it is a lie. Staff is definitely fake friendly as they are unorganized and not in any rush to make you feel comfortable. On top of that further facts the staff is under paid as well by the greedy veterinarian. Don’t believe me check out there teeth when you check in. Sorry to to state the facts staff. So as I write this while sitting here for 2 1/2 hrs just for rabies shots for 2 cats. Please follow my lead and write your true experience as well.

2022-08-13Got us right in on short notice. Great job!
