I made a tire appointment on their website for 10:30am. At 10:25am as I am literally pulling in to their parking lot, I get a phone call telling me that they are too busy and need to cancel my appointment. Gee thanks for the heads up and thanks for cancelling five minutes before you were supposed to start working on my car.
Went to this Pep Boys, bought tires and had them mounted and balanced here as well. Needless to say, after spending $760 in tires, we had to go back and have them balanced once again. Well, 2 days later, I had to take it to a completely different, privately owned shop to have the tires balanced CORRECTLY! Listen, for a shop thats been around 100 years, their employees cant even balance a tire correctly, especially for the price that customers pay for these tires! Extremely disappointed. IF I even purchase tires from there again, I will only be purchasing. I will take them elsewhere to have them installed by someone whom knows what theyre doing. Thanks for nothing. Only plus was, friendly employees and clean store.
Got tires for my wifes car here. Year later she gets a flat less than 2 miles from them. Went here to have them look at it and they couldnt help me till the next day. Figured I would get some good service being I was already a customer. Called Flynns tire right down the road. Got me right in. Dont expect service even if you spent $800 dollars on their tires.
Jim, the service manager, is very knowledgeable. Before I knew what questions to ask, he told me all the issues that I may have to consider prior to servicing my truck. I agreed and had the truck worked on, and it has driven better than when I first got it! The best part is that he took the time to explain in detail why I may have certain issues with my truck based on my description of what it was doing, and there was no extra surprises at the end. Will definately have my truck serviced there for a long time to come. Thanks to Jim and the mechanics at the Niles Pep Boys!
Took my SUV up here August 13 2021 To get alignment done. Alignment was okay but right after I left not even out the parking lot yet my ac blower starts making a loud humming noise. I got home and investigated and took apart the ac blower I found a clear straw wrapper inside. I don’t think this was a coincidence.
I called to make an appointment before taking a 1000 mile trip. Told them I need an oil change, grease job, both differential fluid checked, and transfer case checked. They told me no problem to get it there by 3 o’clock and they would take care of it. I get there and the employee “Justin” was rude rolled his eyes when I told him what I wanted handed the keys to the technician and did not tell him everything I wanted done. The only thing they did was change the oil and filter. Check my lights and my belt. I could’ve got better service at a Valvoline. So now I must delay my trip for work to take care of this stuff at a different service center. Justin was more worried about his phone than taking care of customers.
Great knowledgeable Staff!! Justin, Niall l, Shaun!! I took my Hyandai Elantra in because i kept hearing a scrubbing noise on our Labor Day roadtrip, which i thought was Brakes, Rotors or Calibers. I was so THANKFUL that these guys here figured out in 5min that it was just the rear Mud Flap wedged between the tire!! Now we and I can drive back to Atlanta with a piece of mind!! I struggled with this rating because its no knock against the guys who work here, its all about the corporate office. They continue to run a bogus scheduling system on their website that double or triple books appointments when they know they cant provide that kind of service. Then the poor guys at the local store get to call everyone to apologize and try to make up the appointments. This is now happened to me twice and I will no longer be going there for service.
The guys in the tire shop were great! Fantastic to deal with. Brought 4 tires on rims in that needed TPMS sensors installed that I already had and programmed myself. They installed without dismounting and checked that the tires were still balanced and charged accordingly. Couldn’t ask for anything better than great, honest service like that.
Had a wonderful experience with the guys in the service department. Was told by a local dealership while getting an oil change that I needed (4) new tires. Shopped around instead of going with them and decided on Pep Boys. Took my vehicle in to have them put on and was shocked when the guy called to tell me I didnt need them. So grateful that they were honest with me and didnt just sell me tires that I didnt need like this sham of dealership would have done! I understand mistakes happen but my mother had a similar experience with the same dealership with regard to her brakes. Will not go back there but definitely will be back to Pep Boys. Thanks guys!
Great service, even when I had a small issue with my last repair. They were friendly and rectified the situation quickly and in a fair manner. Will definitely be using this store for all future car repairs. I gave a 4 start review a few days ago, but thanks to how my issue was handled, I can easily say this a 5 star place. Thanks guys.
I had an emergency with my tires and they really provided just an amazing customer service experience. Bill and Matt got me laughing after having a rough day and they really helped me out. Zach did an amazing job with my tires, it was like having a whole new car. I appreciate all their service and will be going back for tires for my truck when I can.
They dont understand CarAdvise. Dude kept trying to initiate a full-synthetic oil change, didnt even ask. Should have taken the work order from the appointment I made, which was pre-approved for a conventional oil change. Had to deny each request & take my car elsewhere.
Thank you for taking advantage of an older person. If someone ask for their car to be taken out of the service station in for services to stop thats what should be done. Not bargaining with an older lady and still charging her $50 for service that she can go down the street to AutoZone and get for free. This is why mechanics cant be trusted
Very friendly and responsive. Didnt sell me anything I didnt need. Was able to place an online order while getting my oil changed and it was filled promptly. Store is clean. Only complaint is that the parts manuals are out of date. But I used their texting option to find what I needed.
Don’t bother using the online booking system...while driving from Michigan to Virginia my son got a nail in his tire half way through the trip...because it was after hours on a Saturday evening we booked an appointment through the website for the next day at noon time. They called him the next morning and cancelled the appointment saying they couldn’t get to him because they were too busy. Regardless of the fact that he was on the road with a nail in his tire...they could care less about it and do nothing to try to help....customer at its worst!! They said that the online booking system does not take in to account what they already have for appointments, what kind of business are they running....so ultimately the system is completely useless as was the manager. Thanks for leaving my kid stranded Pepboys...seems like they all are poor in this area as this is not the first bad experience we have had....only went there for this because we had no other choice only to be disappointed again....worst place to do business with ever!!!
I was looking for four new tires for my car, and I called around to ask about pricing. When I called Pep Boys, I was quoted both a price for the tires and a labor charge for putting the tires on my car. The price was comparable to Walmarts and Pep Boys was closer, so I chose Pep Boys. When we came in, I asked how long it would take and was told it would only take an hour, so I decided to wait. It took over two hours. I didnt mind so much that it took this long. I just wish they had been honest with me so that I could have gone to lunch while I waited. When my car was finally ready and I went to pay, they tried to charge me $120 more than the price I was given on the phone. When I complained, a manager did come over and reduce my bill; however, it was still about $40 more than I was told it would be. By this time, I was tired and agitated, and I wanted it to be over, so I paid it. About two months later, two of the tires I had purchased were completely worn. When I called Pep Boys to complain, they said they would give me a pro-rated exchange rate on the price of a new set of tires. I refused because I didnt receive satisfactory service the first time. Why would I come back and go through this again? Instead, I took my car to a place nearby that a friend recommended. At this point, I thought I was done with this whole ordeal, but while the new place was removing my tire, they realized (and showed me) that when Pep Boys was putting on one of my tires, they put the bolts in crooked. It cost me another $30 to have the Pep Boys tire removed. Again, I was angry, so I emailed Pep Boys corporate with my complaint. I got no response. Go somewhere else for tires.
Ive been taking my cars to this Pep Boys location for years. Ive always received excellent service & even better customer service from the entire staff. The manager (Jim) always explains any issues & the options to repair them in a way thats easy to understand. Great place to have your car serviced!
Let me just say, this place has always been absolutely amazing to me, anytime I have any kind of car problems everyone goes out of their way to help me! Today was probably the best experience I’ve ever had! Shoutout to Brent and Bill for giving me the absolute best customer service and dealing with almost tears from me! I love everyone at Pep Boys but you 2 really blew it out of the water! Thank you so much!
Ive had an excellent expierence over the years.I take my Jeep Cherokee there for oil changes and automotive work. Brent, Jim and the rest of the staff have helped me immensely and never suggest work that i dont need done. I needed a few things for my Jeep Grand Cherokee and couldnt find it. Brent took the time from the service desk to help me find it. I needed new tires and the computer gave them the wrong size. It took me a month to realize they were the wrong size. They apologize and gave me a full refund after a month. Brent has always helped me and looked after my well being. Pep boys is very fortunate to have an employee that is very conscious and dedicated like Brent. Jim too.I took my Jeep in today to have a new cylinder lock. They ordered it but couldnt do the work. It had to been done by the dealer. It ended up being recalled. They never charged me. Thank you.
You cant find a friendlier or more knowledgeable place in town! The service desk was packed but the guy helping me took the time to walk out to my car to hear the sound I was describing and to understand exactly what was going on. After further investigation, it turned out to only be a bad tire. Being a woman, you always hear horror stories of being taken advantage of at auto repair places but these guys treat you like family. You will not be disappointed with the service and respect you get from them!
July 21st was the first time I was there this Pep Boys in several years. Justin who made the appointment was there to do the follow-up for me. The technician was very good the check in person Justin was very good and also was the staff on the product side of the store. I then had to go back on July 28th and have something else done and they were all very helpful got me going in the minimum amount of time. Although Pep Boys is 35 minutes from my house Ive decided that this will be the place I have work done on my van because they are speedy, do a good job and explain whats going on to me.
HORRIBLE customer service!! Good luck getting a person on the phone. When I did, the first time they put me on hold AGAIN and hung up. Then I was assured they had the brakes to repair my car. Packed up my three young kids and planned to walk to the mall while they did the brake work. Got there for my scheduled appointment, wasnt greeted for 3 minutes or more, and then told they didnt stock the brakes for my car. I asked her to double check and she disappeared. Finally asked her again and she said they didnt have the brakes. They also had no manager on duty. Her coworker finally gave me a business card and I said I was leaving before I freaked out. He had the nerve to say as I was leaving that it doesnt do any good to get upset. Clearly, because they wont make it right if you do! While I was there they had another unhappy customer who was given misinformation.
Another A+ experience! We always try to stay on top of maintenance for our vehicles. One of the nice things about Pep Boys is that they are conscious of the details that maximize your cars performance. They continually inform you of the optional, but important services that can optimize efficiency, in every angle. After hearing the value in having my transmission and radiator flushed, I had trust their recommendation again. They continue to look out for me and try to keep my vehicles in tip top shape.
I have been using this Pep Boys for 9 years now for our business and personalautos. Great Service Department and great Service Manager. When I have hadproblems, Pep Boys has been very good in working with me to fix the problem.I can tell you there are not many places that do that anymore. My thumbs up forthis Pep Boys in Niles Ohio.
4 months prior to my visit today I had 1700$ spent with this company on replacing brake lines rear drums etc on top of that was a 110$ inspection of my brake assembly. Today my brake pads literally fell out of my truck with my child in the vehicle. I immediately take the vehicle back to the shop and explain the situation. The manager responded professionally at first and the total bill was 600$ for rotors, calipers, and brakes. 5 minutes after getting a ride from my father I recieved a call from the shop to come back. Upon returning they showed me that my brakes were leaking antifreeze out of the brake lines that the exact same shop had replaced!!! This is not a hydraulic fluid and most certainly was the cause as to why my calipers siezed up and I had to return to fix the damages!!! I didnt become livid until the very first reaction was denial from the manager. After a short view from the camera in the bay my truck was in you can see that there was a brake fluid bottle that was being applied to my brake lines at the time. However this is a short clip, and to be recieved with a smirk and simply saying not us does not console my doubts in this company at all. Especially when the bill was magically 100$ less... To summarize Ive spent 2300$ in your shop in less than half of a year, and you have lost my trust and my future buisness as well as any peer of mine that I wouldnt wish to feel cheated when looking for mechanical assistance. All of this because somebody couldnt own up to a mistake.
On the way back to Michigan from Pittsburg we hit something on the highway that absolutely obliterated our tire, and there was no way we were making it home on our spare. After going to three separate places we finally got some amazing help from Sam and Bill at Pep Boys, they squeezed us into their very busy schedule and found a way to get us back on the road a lot quicker than we expected. You guys really saved our butts, thanks again!
Worked on vehicle without doing a diagnostic as a result it was not correctly fixed there was a oil leak of which we were charged about $800 had to take it back and then they did a diagnostic pressure test that found the true problem which was a broken screw that allowed oil to pass through then they said they could not fix it and could not return the money I paid them explaining it to them that they told me it was fixed 100% of shirred me and I paid them for that service that was not correctly done the manager then decided to try again after I told him you should not have done the work if you found the problem and before I paid told me so at that moment not after the fact. Oh I was there it was another customer complaining about how he was unsatisfied with the work on his car after he paid $2,000. Ill take my car there a second time. This was the Pep Boys thats next to the mall in Niles. I am crossing my fingers does the car will have no further problems of this nature after the second try.
Had a flat tire. Got a tire repair, had a nail in it. They fixed it after an hour wait and tried to sell me a brand new tire. Did not buy the new tire, just got the old one fixed. Had a flat on the fixed tire the next morning. It cost me $21.00 to learn to never go there again.
They dont turn the automatic oil change light off after your change so you freak out and pay for them to tow and look at it, they think theyre clever, I took my lease back to the dealership and it was all explained, its how they make more money off you. DONT FALL FOR THIS PLOY
I went to get rear brakes done on my 09 Hyundai Sonata... I had my wife follow so we didnt have to wait because Ive read reviews with complaints of wait times, but... From start to finish on brakes, rotors, and calipers was 2.5 hours, definitely not bad for the task at hand... Bill was our face to face interaction, and he showed such a genuine concern for his customers, he definitely proved to be more than just a salesman wanting money... Its hard to rate places like this, but based on my personal experience, Ive got no problems recommending their services... Prices are as expected, no up sale attempted, you get what you pay for... Odds are cheap labor isnt good, and good labor isnt cheap
What a worthless place I blew a tire off the rim not a mile from the store a Good Samaritan stopped and asked if I needed help I took my tire off and my spare was real low on air went to Pep Boys to see if I can get some assistance and I had a 4 year old 11 year old and my wife left back at the car on the highway with semis and Highway Traffic singing by the car scary situation they would not help me in anyway they said that I had to wait in line and ask if I had an appointment they would not even just look at the tires and see if they could just add air being said they danger me and my family told us we had to wait minimum 4 hours I used to be a mechanic so I went back to the Parks Department lets see if I could buy a compressor to put air in my car tire nobody came and helped me and I stood there for 20 minutes I hope the whole facility closes and I hope the future is very poor for this establishment I think everybody should be relieved and let go and get some honest hard-working Americans in there that have morals that will help somebody

2022-03-25Let me start off by saying I’d give 0 stars if I could.I ordered a set of 275/55/20 cooper a/t tires as they were running a buy 3 get 1 free promo. I called up to the store to make sure they had all 4 tires in stock. I was then told that they only had 1 in stock and that I should call back in 2 hours to see if more came on the truck. So I called back 2 hours later and was tossed around person to person and put on hold for a total of 45 minutes just to be told they’ll take my number down and call me back about them that day. Well I never received a call back and when I called the following morning I was told they have all 4 tires and when the appointment was being set up they said someone else ordered the tires yesterday and there’s nothing they can do. They can’t get me another set of tires in a timely manner nor would they honor the price on a different set. That’s horrible customer service at its finest. I would recommend going else where if you’re looking for new tires. Chances are this store doesn’t have 4 in stock and if they do they’ll sell them to someone else.

2022-04-03This place is an absolute joke of a business. I have a confirmed appointment for today at 9am to have my tires rebalanced. When I get here the guy tells me that he cannot do it because he is too busy. I look around and there is no one here. The parking lot is empty and there was not a single car in the bays, I looked. I asked how I book an appointment, drive all the way here, and then get turned away at the door without a phone call at least. His response “This happens far to often, I can reschedule you for next Sunday.” How does it happen far to often? How are you to busy to do a rebalance that takes 1 hour.

2021-09-13Had tires installed and they were not correctly balanced so I came back to have them balanced again. Apparently this did not sit well with them so they over torqued the wheels and applied red locktiet. I would never let this company touch any car I own.

2022-06-11I had a great experience at this location. I purchased tires on Tire Rack and had them shipped to this location. I saw a few questionable reviews on Google but I figured I’d give it a shot. Jason helped me out and was great. Definitely recommended! 10/10

2022-03-16Not a good experience, I will not be going back. Most of the employees at the desk were polite other than one who was mopey, that’s the only plus. Had a wheel bearing replaced, they charge way too much, and my car came back scratched. Scratches on the side and hood. Looks as if something was dragged across the hood. I hit the deep one with rubbing compound and it’s not going away. I don’t recommend.

2022-07-16Waited almost 2 hours for a tire plug. Finally pulled my vehicle out. Flynn’s from this point forward. Flynn’s gave an hour to an hour and a half time frame. Figured I’d see if Pep Boys could do a little better as I had several time sensitive projects that needed to be done today. Clearly the service manager at this Pep Boys and I have a different idea of what “I can squeeze you in” means. Two hours later and I’m at home plugging my own tire and having to reschedule everything needing done today, until next Friday. Thanks for wasting my time and completely screwing up an entire weeks worth of projects. I feel worse for the guy that’s been there, with a scheduled appt for tires, almost 2 hours, and the lady prior that had an appt and was also there 2 hours. Never had an issue at Boardman Pep Boys. This place on the other hand.

2022-04-15I had an appointment at 10am and I left at 3:30pm for 4 new tires mounted and put back on my car. A bunch of standing around. Definitely go somewhere else if you don’t wanna wait hours for a simple job.

2022-06-05One or the tires came from factory damaged. Staff noticed and gave me replacements before mounting. Rotors and pads and 4 tires in a couple hours efficient honest staff

2022-07-16I scheduled an appointment to get tires expecting to take my car in and work done promptly. Instead I wait almost two hour and when I get my car back there are greasy shoe prints on the floor mats.
