Stopped in Friday and bought a 2lb beef tenderloin for a beef wellington I made today (Sunday). I had to post a review as it was by far, without question, hands down, the best cut of meat I have ever eaten. No knife needed. Unbelievably fresh and delicious. Ill make the drive again, every-time.

Any carnivore in the area needs to frequent Pataskala Meats. The quality of steaks, chops and burgers are unmatched. If you havent tried it then you truly dont know the difference between store bought and fresh.
Amazing! They have superb cuts of meat. Best ham salad around too. Baked goods are available out front in a smaller shop. Cant recommend more!

You can not buy better meat anywhere around. Fresh, local farm raised beef, pork and lamb. They also carry Walnut Creek (Amish) products. Farm raised chicken and eggs. We do not buy any of our meat from any other store, except Pataskala Meats! The customer service is exceptional! If you have not been here, you are missing out!

Wonderful...so much to choose from besides meat - baked goods, spices, salsas, wine . Super friendly. I have been looking for Cottage Hams (hard-to-find ) they had them. I will definitely be going back!
Asked to have a top sirloin cut 3 thick to cook on my charcoal grill. They cut me a nice looking piece of beef and it did not disappoint. I grilled all sides over the hot side of the grill for about 2 or 3 minutes then moved the steak over to the other side of the grill to finish. Cooked medium rare the beef was melt in your mouth and very flavorful! Worth paying a bit more than the average store because you get what you pay for!

Great fresh cuts of beef and pork. Homemade sausages, luncheon meats and cheeses available. Wine and craft beer selection is a pleasant surprise. Very helpful and friendly staff.Cant go wrong for your fresh meats.
We stopped here on a whim after shopping a farmers market. We wanted some bratwurst to complete a meal we planned with our purchase. Its not very big....yet the selection was impressive. We didnt save $ by not going to the grocery store but we didnt spend extra either. The staff was super helpful and friendly. We walked away with more than bratwurst and will likely be back soon!
I really like this place. Everyone in there is super nice. I feel nicer having spent time with them. Ive been stocking up for summer for the past month. I really enjoy buying Ohio made products, and meats that are superior to that at the super stores. There is a great selection of items that I otherwise would not have guessed they sold. Their eggs are HUGE. I wish them the best of luck, and of course I will be back. Thank you big freezer of mine.
My son told us about this market. We had gotten sick of the “meat” sold at the grocery chain stores. Tough and not much flavor. Tried Pataskala meats. Wow. Pork chops fantastic. Great selection. Well worth the short drive from Pickerington.
They had good coustumer service, They had a great clean area. They also had good safety precautions.
On recommendation, I was excited to visit this shop and drove for 30 minutes to get there. I didnt feel welcomed here. Couldnt get anyone to acknowledge me, even though I was standing at the counter for several minutes. It appeared that the averted eyes and feigned busyness behind the counter were all in attempt to not wait on me. As an African American finding myself in spaces where I am not welcome, I have learned to just stay and not allow others to define ANYTHING for me. In fairness, when I was FINALLY acknowledged, the fella was trying, but without success. He asked a colleague to confirm that they didnt have what I was looking for, and she was more than happy to do that! Lol! I left feeling that feeling you get once youve experienced, yet again, just one more damn thing because you have a brown face. Sad.
Was shopping on my second or third trip here soon after they opened. Ask about pork belly. They brought out a whole piece and quoted a price and gave the weight. I selected some other items and my wife paid for our purchases while I was looking around. They price she paid for the pork belly was almost $8.00 per pound. A nice inflation of the quoted price. She questioned it but they insisted that was the correct price. We left with our purchases.Got home and I, a professional chef by career, was disappointed with the product. I dont give a business a second chance to screw me. We havent been back the the shop since.
Had an overall great experience. The selection of beef was a little slim but it may have been because I showed up later on the Fri before Fathers Day. I settled for two t-bones and a large filet. Cooked them all med-med rare on the grill and they turned out fabulous. The steaks were flavorful, juicy and very tender. I will be back again for sure. Id much rather support local over Kroger any day, even if its a few bucks more. Well done Pataskala Meats.
They are a fantastic group of people. Jenny was incredibly friendly and accommodating to my requests for an order for a Christmas dinner.Their prices are more than fair. They also put out some good looking meat that requires minimal trimming at home. Im just sad that it took me a while to find them.
The best! I ordered and received a whole hog that is simply amazing. Cut just the way I wanted it, packaged and labeled nicely! This is not the first time Ive ordered from Pataskala Meats and wont be my last!! Their service is outstanding and they are so friendly! Thank you guys and gals!

Great place to get meat from. Friendly people. They are honest about grass fed grain finished. Great place to source organ meats and lamb for those who have trouble finding them.
Best Butcher shop I have ever been too and the staff is always super friendly. Everything in this store is the absolute best and their cooked BBQ is some of the best in Ohio. If you are lucky and they have beef bacon, look out that stuff is addictive and so delicious.
I go there for their fine selection of butchered meats and deli meat/cheese, but its so much more than that. They have a small selection of jams & jelly, snacks, beer & wine, and a frozen section that will keep you fed for a long time. Their homemade chicken salad cant be beat! I usually end up leaving with a few pounds of deli meat, some fresh steaks for dinner that night and a few frozen steaks for a meal later on. Cant go wrong stopping by Pataskala Meats!
Great local full service butcher shop with quality meats. Their prices for the quality of the meat is really good. They are able to work with you for large orders if you give them some notice. They also have a lot of nice products in stock for general grocery needs also.
The staff was very friendly. I stopped into buy a couple of tomahawk steaks and I was talked out of it to buy another piece of meat(I personally think they didn’t want to have to cut them)Should have went with what I wanted because what I was sold was the toughest piece of meat I’ve ever had
We live closer to Smithhisler Meats in Mount Vernon but prefer to drive to Pataskala Meats because their customer service , attention to detail, and willingness to work with customers to fill their needs is outstanding! Great products too!
This was the the second purchase weve made there but the first filet mignons and Ive got to say, the best were ever found. Absolute tender and the flavor was amazing. The price was better than most groceries and far beyond their quality
I am thankful for Pataskala Meats Meats getting me 5 pounds of ground beef when it was difficult to find during crisis. However; i was not asked about packaging so my beef came in a plastic bag not divided, or wrapped. The cashier said its easier for us that way. Well its NOT easier for the customer.
First time at Pataskala Meats. They have more to offer then just meats. Seemed like I was in a smaller version of Troyers in Johnstown. I had to wait just about 2 minutes to be helped. Which I thought was acceptable. Overall experience was excellent.

OMG, seriously best meats around... i cooked the same dinner 2X in a week- steak topped with a bacon glaze... once from here- once from Meijer... Well... the second dinner from Meijer got tossed halfway through the steaks- there was ZERO comparison to the taste, freshness and amazing flavor of Pataskala Meats. My son also got a mini tour of the processing room and can now understand where our meat comes fromFriendly, clean and by far the BEST MEAT around

Picked up meats for a Carribean sailing trip and the crew was giving me a hard time for going through the trouble but then I served the bacon wrapped filets. Amazing! Burgers hit the spot as well. The bacon disappeared? Highly recommend Pataskala Meats.

My grandma and I stopped on a whim. Not only do they have yogurt cheese (childhood favorite), but they went above and beyond. I have severe cluster headaches in reaction to a salt preservative found in meat called sodium nitrite. It puts me out of commission for days and/or into the ER. They told me which meats have it usually and that I can special order the meat without preservatives! The younger lady even went into the back and dug through all the in-store butchers spice mixes to see what the salt is used in each one. Truly a caring customer service! Plus it smells amazing in the store.

I was referred here by a friend, I thought I was a custom butcher shop, and it is but they also have smoked beef brisket and pulled pork, supply your BBQ sauce of choice and you are good... very good..lol

2022-07-19I wish I was able to give 0 or negative but I can’t. I have never encountered a rude person (Mike). My dad was just asking him question about a lamb he wanted to purchase and this guy was very bothered. He kept blowing ciggs in our faces, kept us in the dirty area not opening the gates. It felt like we were begging him. Picked out one for $450 and he kept being disrespectful to my 73 year old dad. We finally left. I m in the customer service business for a large telecommunications company and if one of my employees did that, they will never ever work there again. I’m still amazed someone is employed there unless he is the owner which is even sadder

2022-05-31I reached out to the owner to let him know one of his employees is abusing animals and drugging them, and I even had video evidence of it, and the owner just cussed me out and threatened me. Pretty crazy, theres probably even worse things going on in there if the owner doesnt care about any illegal activity in his shop. So Id say they wont be in business long with that type of mindset.

2022-02-24Decent product and prices, pitiful counter service. Will weigh out and try to charge for 20% more meat than you request, then act offended when you ask them to correct the issue. Im sure youd love to have me buy more product, but I dont need that much!

2021-10-20We recently had a hog processed here and everything measured out…except bacon. 200 kb carcass produced 7.6 lbs of bacon…3.1 lbs for one half and 4.5 for the other…that’s about a third of what’s to be expected anywhere you look. 5 hogs were brought in with this group and that was the average for all. Even was told on the phone to expect 9-12 lbs per half. Not even close…no excuses. Someone (s) not being honest at this establishment. The farming community in this area is small…trust me you lost more business than just those 5 hogs you shorted bacon.
