When my son passed away I was not going to have him buried since he was cremated. His fiancé decided she was going to bury her part of his ashes in Pataskala Cemetery. She picked out a spot with her being the owner of the plot. My sons grandpa went down to pay for her and moved him to a different spot before burial without anyones knowledge. Not once was the owner of the plot contacted for approval, it was just done. It was noticed on the day we buried him, but his fiancé decided she just needed to go with it, because it was all way too much. Was told today that rules can be made up by the day and change whenever they feel like it so I now needed to remove a garden flag despite so many different things sticking out of the ground on numerous graves. The Cemetery puts absolutely nothing to mark where a loved is buried until the headstone comes in. NOTHING, not even a stick! And anything you put there to mark it will be removed because of the weedeating. I was told that she would ALLOW my flowers to stay since it is the only way to know where hes at! So in essence, they are ALLOWING me to mark my sons grave, when they dont, so we are able to tell where hes at since he is not even in the spot originally chosen by the owner! Upon asking for clarification on if the pinwheels and solar sticks were allowed and was told yes for now. Why would those be allowed and not the garden flags? Because when the weedeater hits the plastic it breaks it and then they throw it away. Its just metal sticks that need to be removed for now. I think it would behoove Pataskala Cemetery to pay a little more attention to their inside procedures to verify that someones final resting spot IS THE FINAL RESTING SPOT CHOSEN BY THE OWNER!!! Its a awful feeling when youre loved one is NOT in his chosen final resting spot, you cant decorate it to be able to find it before the headstone, cant hardly decorate after the headstone and you just get a shrug of the shoulders and well.... theres nothing that can be done now! Knowing hes there is hard enough, this cemetery made it 100 times worse!

I have many loved ones laid to rest at the Pataskala cemetery. The entire staff (especially Pam) are helpful, friendly, and compassionate. The grounds are maintained well, and I have never had any issues with decorations being damaged or missing.
