Some of the tax employees (won’t single out but they know) can be rude and assumptive about your knowledge of how to file fed taxes (none of their business) and ur financial status..btw…u can pay ur taxes online….it doesn’t seem to be super publicized but it’s an option if u choose to have them look and not deal with attitude when paying. Other than this I actually love living in Parma as the city itself has tons to offer! 😌

The negative reviews of Parma the city kind of crack me up. People are complaining about unions, police thugs, etc., but Ive experienced none of these things living here the past 5 years. My experience: the people are nice, business is growing, the police and fire depts are highly rated, and my house value has gone up more than $30k in 5 years (I keep track of that). Our roads SUCK though--people are right about that. Also, we have some real flooding issues because of a clogged sewer system, but come on, the taxes arent substantially higher than other, safe Cleveland suburbs, and the cost of living in a city this size is pretty freaking reasonable. Do we need to fix our roads? Yup. Do we need to spend money in our schools better, oh yes. Is any city perfect? Nope. Parmas not so bad. Instead of hopping onto Google and hating on it, why not go out into your community and do something to make it better?

Avoid moving into parma, the city has high taxes, loads of vacant homes with ever decreasing values. Poor roads and unwarranted police harassment is quite abundant. City employees have to take a page from neighboring cities to figure out how they can improve.

Have no qualms with the city itself but the city hall building is another story. They only have about 3 or 4 workers around tax time which is unacceptable. Takes way too long, need to get more workers and relocate to a bigger section of the building if possible but 100% need more workers.

I went there to get birth certificate for my daughter as the closing time mentioned in their website is 04:30 pm. After driving for 40 min, they closed the section and posted a note on the top of the wall mentioning the closing time as 04:00pm. I would appreciate if the details were mentioned specifically so that I could have avoided a boring long drive. The place is clean. Parking is not an issue.

Typical rude government employees. Think they are above us normal citizens. Always rushed, poor attitudes, stick to the book type, will not go out of their way to help and if you do get help be prepared to move quick for the next person or they may lose their patience with you!!!

Im curious as to why the city enacts a snow ban and writes parking tickets so the plows can get through the side streets ok, yet NONE of the side streets are plowed 5 days after the snowstorm. I get stuck backing out of the driveway once I get to the street because theres 6 inches of slush and snow. If you are going to line coffers and point at a civil service as the reason, than at least make sure the civil service is actually being done.

I got my birth certificate in a matter of minutes. Probably took about 20mins. It was fast enough to do it during my lunch break. Staff was friendly. Parking was okay. As long as you dont go in there with an uptight attitude, youll be fine. Building was outdated though.

This building is part of Parma History. Those that work here are part of the community. The Council Hall is worth seeing. This is a page out of post WWII when returning GIs were building the suburbs. In the gallery of Mayors, second column second row is Joseph Kader for whom my dad worked and after whom the street is named.
