Just in town for the day and the regulars over at Cousins Cigars all had wonderful things to say about this place, so I had to try it. Lived up to the hype! I had the chicken breast in a wild mushroom sauce with creamy calaflower rice. The sauce was rich and had an intense mushroom flavor. Absolutely outstanding...I requested some bread to sop it up. The carmel apple bread pudding was just perfect too! Fresh brewed ice tea and a long wine and beer list. Pretty good value for a restaurant of this quality.
This use to be one of our favorite places to go for a nice dinner. We went Saturday night for the first time in a while and the food was okay. It seems their quality in food has greatly declined. Personally, I would rather pay more money for the quality food they use to have. Our service was excellent up until we were done with our meal. The server had asked us if we would like dessert and I told her yes I’d love to what are my options? She named them and then quickly told me “…and you can get that to go” what a nice way of saying it’s time for us to go! I was kinda speechless and ready to go at that point.
Nice restaurant. For those of us with Celiac the menu is clearly marked with GF food, which is great, but there is NO GLUTEN FREE BEER!! Otherwise it would be 5 stars. Its a shame because gf beers are so easy for restaurants to get these days. (To owner- Cider is NOT beer...)
Had dinner with four people , three different households. Three people ended up with food poisoning. Tried to report it to the night manager who was unprofessional, belligerent and disrespectful. He not only hung up the phone on me but slammed it down. The food was good but the experience afterwards was horrendous,
Food was great, but the service is even more amazing! Mia and Morgan behind the bar are so attentive and pleasant. I went on a night when the kitchen was understaffed and the servers/bartenders should have been stressed. Instead, they were great at keeping people calm and giving them options on what food to order that will be quick. I really enjoyed myself and will definitely be back.
Last week I brought my adult daughter and a guy friend here, mostly because it was Burger Nite and I knew I could feed three of us for the price of two. But, little did I know that this place is ON TOP OF THEIR GAME! No staffing shortages, quick service, delightful food and the owner thanked us for coming in on our way out. We will definitely be back! I have to think it is good management that led to our quality service...so thank you.
Came here for in laws anniversary. They wanted to try it from a friends referral. The burger wasnt cooked for medium, it was still pink and pieces of raw meat were falling out of the burger. My mother in laws pizza was burnt crisp underneath and she couldnt eat it. Not really worth the prices and wait there. We did reservations and were seated quickly but food took a while to prepare and still wasnt cooked properly.
Best restaurant around! Our family has easily been 50+ times between dine in and take out, and have always had stellar experiences. Never had a mistake, missed item, or less than great meal for any of us. Great prices too. Owner is always around greeting customers. Hostesses are clearly young kids given their first chances at a job, which we appreciate as well, (so customers with that complaint need to get over themselves). Servers have all been professional and efficient. Seriously done going out to other places. Lol Such a hidden gem! We’ve had similar great experience with Old School Pizza by Parker’s as well! So happy to eat local and support a family business!
Food was delicious and our server was very friendly! But the hostess was incredibly RUDE! Our reservations were at 6:30, we arrived 6:20, she said youll have to go your car and wait, which we did. We arrived at 6:30, and waited until 6:45 to be seated (by the way there were 3 tables that were empty)!! I finally had to ask the Hostess again to be seated. You have lost our business along with many friends!!
Was a 5 star when they opened, but now its bad. The french fries are not good, before they changed it from shoe string to a steak fry, they were good. Now, they are awful. The burger buns are stale. And taking out the chocolate moose is a huge lose. Not comin back for food. Will come back for the weekly car show.
Food was excellent. It was my birthday, & my boyfriend took me there. I had never been there before, but he & his friends have been going there. All he kept talking about was the clam chowder. Was very good, but , had a bite to it. Little too much for me. Even my boyfriend said it was, & normally wasn t. Otherwise, it was excellent. Had scampi pasta- delicious!!! Couldnt finish it. Generous serving. I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant! *
Ooohh my.... talk about a great steak! Cooked perfectly even though Im a hard steak order ( extra well done).. the asparagus was perfectly done... cudos all the way around! Staff is always super friendly... Im still full and am already thinking of my leftovers! No photo, I tore into it as soon as they set it on the table, sorry!
Fantastic food & atmosphere. Our waitress seemed a bit snippy or overwhelmed with our questions about the dishes (we had a party of 6 whod never visited this restaurant before), but hopefully it was just a bad day... we all have them. However, we didnt let it ruin our evening. Great food and beautiful inside. Would recommend.
We had take out and the food was great. My wife had the pork sandwich with fries. The sandwich was a generous size and very tasty. I had the pork tenderlion dinner. I highly recommend it! There was a lot of pork and glaze (on the side) with a lot of smashed red potatoes both were really good and a much larger portion than I expected. The asparagus was also good and a more normal portion size. DELICIOUS...
The service was terrible and there was something off with the kitchen we ordered the chicken scampi they had the option for chicken or shrimp and I explained that my wife has an allergy to shellfish so we ordered the chicken one and two bites into her bowl there were several pieces of shrimp and she instantly started having a reaction. Next I ordered the pretzel breaded chicken tenders and they were burnt and had no seasoning and lastly the macaroni and cheese the sauce tasted like flour and was very bland. Lastly the burger and fries were ok and so was the kimchi chicken sandwich because of these 2 items is the only reason this restaurant is getting 1 star no effort was made to compensate the mistake for my wife’s food for a 70 dollar meal I expected way more
Best restaurant experience my wife & I have had in a long time! I was impressed all the way around on my first visit yesterday night. Great menu that has a little bit of something for everyone. Our burgers were cooked perfectly. I got a side of Brussel sprouts & they were awesome, lots of flavor! The bread pudding for dessert was delicious. Our server was Jasmine & she was great! We’ll definitely be coming back.
Went for LC restaurant week and had the fillet. Food was good, service was good, and the atmosphere was very comfortable. We did have the large back corner booth so it felt like we were eating in private. Maybe the best seat in the house. Will definitely be back for the prime rib on a Friday or Saturday night in the future.
Been here a number of times and was never disappointed until last night. First the beer was a little flat ( Summer Sandy draft). We ordered a dozen hot wings which were below average in taste and texture. My son in law and I both ordered the specialty burger medium rare. His came out rare and mine medium well. Go figure. He sent his back for more cooking and it came back more to his liking. Not wanting to delay our party I ate mine. My burger was tasteless.I will go back as this would have been a five star review prior to my last visit. No wings and no burger next time.
We love Parkers! The food is delicious, we love the staff, and the manager, James, never fails to make everyone feel welcome! You can tell that everyone at Parkers is working their hardest to make sure you have the best experience. During quarantine, theyre offering growler refills as well, a huge plus! Looking forward to being able to dine-in again!
The atmosphere is very nice, I like the decor, theres only two TVs at the bar(which I like), and they have a patio. I was a little disappointed in the food:cost. I had the norm burger, it was fine. The Mediterranean nachos with lamb were disappointing; I love lamb, hummus, tzatziki, and pita in all its forms, the lamb did not taste very good to me, and the pita chips were--I dont know how else to describe it--hard in an unpleasant way. I enjoyed the scalloped potatoes though. The food was mostly fine, but the quality and flavor did not match what I paid. Ill try again though, and update.
Excellent food, excellent people. One of the best spots in Avon Lake, and Cleveland. Worth the trip from anywhere. Literally the best bar and wait staff I have ever encountered. The food is always on-point, and the drinks are perfect. Love this place, its my go to for business dinners. It always impresses.
This family owned tavern is more than it seems to be.The food is exceptional and so is the service, from the front door to the bar to the wait staff. The owners are never too busy to stop by and check first hand how were doing.Everything is clean and comfortable. In house dry aged beef, home made ranch dressing, meals served just the way you like. And, live music. One try and youll be going back again and again.
We had an excellent experience here. There was a fish dish my SO had she thought was amazing. I had the spice rubber pork tenderloin which was cooked perfectly. I have paid a lot more for a LOT less. This is a place we will be going back to. Excellent service.Oh ya, Also very kid friendly!
Food was great. Service was fair. Not very attentive. One of us spilled a hot cup of coffee, our waiter saw it happen and just seem to ignore it. We thought when he walked away from the table, he was going to get something to help clean up. He never returned other then to pick up the bill. We all used our napkins to clean it up. Waiter never acknowledged it happened, offered to clean it up, or for that matter offer another cup of coffee. We are not even sure, he may have still charged us for it. We said nothing-just left.
I absolutely loved the walleye. It was a huge lightly breaded piece and fixed perfectly. The prices are very reasonable and I will go to this place again and again even though it is more than a half an hour away from me. I found this place because I was hungry for walleye and I googled where is the best walleye near me and Parkers is what came up. What I found out is that they are considered to have the best walleye in Ohio and I dont doubt that for one minute. Their desserts are great. Dont walk, RUN to this place! You wont be sorry.
Service is great food is superb and worth the money that you pay for it. A little on the expensive side but I was not disappointed. I ordered the fresh catch of the day. Came with quinoa and I subed out a loaded potato for the asparagus. It was grilled to perfection and lightly seasoned. I will be going back for sure. I also had a red blend glass of wine and a glass of cabernet. The pours were on the light side so the bottle is a better value.
First timer last night. Enjoyed the Tuesday unadvertised special. Place was packed. Kitchen was slammed yet within 10 minutes our food was on the table with my burger cooked to perfection.... Med Rare.... 2 meals and 1 beer, Out for under $20. PG&T you have a new faithful patron. Great Job.
Tried this place based on its ratings. I am not sure why its rated so high. Food wasnt bad but certainly nothing special. It was really noisy. And the two girls working the hostess stand and waitstaff behind the bar werent very attentive. Wouldnt tell people to avoid this place but also wouldnt recommend it either. All and all, pretty average. Nice decor though!
I was introduced to Parkers for a private event and was really impressed by their private room and the quality of their food. The bartender situation for the room could have been better but I think that was likely the responsibility of the people planning the event rather than a reflection on the business.im hoping I have the chance to attend something else at this location soon!
First of all, it was louder than I remember. That is on me since I knew it was an open area. The entire procedure felt rushed. We were asked 3 times if we were ready to order and we were there 10 minutes. We were not offered appetizers or salad. I ordered a Filet medium with Broccoli instead of Asparagus and got Asparagus. My medium was totally rare. I sent it back. I was asked to put it on a small bread plate so I could keep eating what my other choices were. They nuked my Filet and brought it back. Who Nukes a Filet? Rushed service and less than proper handling of a screwed up order. My wife said the tenderloin was good.
Our group of 20 booked a private room. I communicated with Parkers a couple of times regarding the menu. In my final email I asked for confirmation of our reservation. I received a reply via email confirming our reservation and the final menu selection. When we arrived that evening, we were told that there was no reservation for us and that the room had been given to a larger party for the evening. I showed the emails from my phone to the manager. She then stated that she had attempted to call me to confirm but I never called back. I never received a call or a message. She simply stated, sorry. I wouldnt trust booking a party there.
Stood at the door for 5 minutes to be seated one other person standing there waiting for a pick up order. Asked if we could just sit at a table by the bar hostess said yes they brought water and menus we sat there for 15 minutes had several girls look at us but non of them came to our table to take our order so we left. Poor poor service
How to fillet which was cooked perfectly and very tender meat along with mashed potatoes and cold broccoli. Salad came first with no bread and no option to get bread. Would have given four stars except service was very lacking food pump down waitress disappeared no option to ask questions, ask for drink refills, Etc.
These Roasted Brussel Sprouts are DIVINE!! I know, you wouldnt think those two words could be in the same sentence, but they are!! Its become one of the dishes that pops into your mind and you just dont stop thinking about them until the warm, roasted, sinfully-delicious, bacon-glazed bites are in your mouth! The Host/Owners are very attentive and genuinely care that you are happy with every aspect of your visit. This is one of our favorite spots when we are in town.Big back room for large groups, also a plus!
This place is doing itself a huge misjustice by calling itself a grille and tavern. That makes it sound like any other bar and grille, its nothing of the sort. Its every bit of a casual and trendy modern fine dining establishment. Food was great, service was good, we loved the outdoor patio. Large beer and wine menu. And to think we almost didnt try it out because I was adament that my wife deserved more than a grille and tavern for her birthday.
Wonderful place to eat in Avon Lake, Ohio where we love to eat every time we visit our family in the Cleveland area. Parkers Grille and Tavern is family owned and operated, with a delicious menu with everything from Chefs top choice steaks and fish, to gourmet flatbread pizzas, to soups, salads, fries, sandwiches and homemade desserts! They even have safe, gluten-free specials for me, the vegetarian/ lactose intolerant/ Celiac- Diseased one! It is always delicious 😋
Came in and put our name down for 2 people. Was told 45 minutes for a wait and 45 minutes had gone by and then was told we had to wait another 15 minutes while several other people with reservations came in getting seated right away. So many people came in and walked out because of the long wait. This place shouldn’t take reservations as you are losing a lot of business. We ended up walking out because of the wait and will never go back here.
My wife and I went there for dinner last night for the first time had a little bit of a wait for a table which was no big deal after being sat at our table we waited for about 10 minutes before our waitress came to take our drink order we got our drinks then waited another 20 minutes before she came back to take our order I ordered the cowboy ribeye medium rare and my wife ordered the Reuben both with salads took 15 minutes to get our salads we finished our salads then waited another 25 minutes for our food my wifes food came out fine mine wasnt so good the ribeye came out cooked 3 different temps medium, medium rare and raw the asparagus was cold and raw and the mashed red potatoes was the only thing cooked right Im a retired Chef I try not to complain but when you are a steak lover like I am and spend $35 on a steak dinner it should be cooked to the right temperature that you asked for I talked to the manager and he did take 10% off our bill but we most likely wont be back sorry
Went last night (my first time there) with my Uncle.#1 - the Salted Caramel Chocolate Martini was AMAZING (so was the second one)#2 - the wedge salad with crumbled bleu cheese, and bleu cheese dressing was absolutely delicious (although I am having the rest of that for lunch today because it was huge)#3 - the filet mignon was perfectly cooked to my request of medium rare, and it literally melted in my mouth.Unfortunately I didnt have room for dessert, but will make it a point to go again specifically keeping dessert in mind

2022-07-13When it opened, Parker’s was a delightful restaurant. Unfortunately, the quality has since slipped…Parker’s is still a decent restaurant, but frankly, there are a variety of other options that I would recommend in Avon Lake above it — this was not always the case.Slow service, a lack staff, booking confusion, and mediocre food has brought what was once a local staple, to a business in decline.

2022-02-23Went here on a random date night with the hubby. The wait for a Saturday night was pretty short (20 minutes) and the food was OK. Id say it was priced appropriately for the quality. The calamari appetizer was a unique compared to most places and cooked very well. Being a ribeye girl myself, Id be very surprised if that was actually aged 4 weeks. The flavor profile and chewiness were not up to par for me. Like I said before though, it was priced accordingly for just a ribeye. The smashed reds that come with it were bland and covering an entire large red potato that was super hard lol but I had enough food that it wasnt necessary. My husband got the fried wally and fries. He liked the wally but did not like the very thin, soft fries.Lastly, the ambiance was nice and the place was pretty packed, which is always nice to see. It was cute that they tried to fancy up the place by adding bath and body works spray and a couple of other toiletries in the womens restroom. This is a great place for a weekday dinner out or for a couple of young kids to celebrate prom night dinner or a more formal date of some sort, but I wouldnt go here for your 10th wedding anniversary or anything.

2022-03-13Summary: Low quality ingredients and poor preparation. One of the most sub-standard dining experiences Ive had in some time.As Avon Lake residents, weve heard of this place a few times and wanted to give it a try. I had high hopes as the menu sounded nice and the pictures online looked good. My wife and I arrive at 4 oclock and got an awkward greeting at the door. After that, things improved. Our waitress was knowledgeable and attentive - she was the highlight of the experience. We were offered bread at the table and also ordered a soft pretzel as a starter. The bread we were given was rock hard and clearly stale. The soft pretzel was warm, but had a taste of freezer burn. One of the dipping sauces I believe was cheddar cheese, but it was lumpy and poorly mixed/melted. Not a preparation anyone who cared about food would have been happy with. Another was chocolate but was extremely artificial tasting and looked like it was squeezed out of a plastic bag.For our mains, we tried the mushroom flat bread pizza and a rueben. We figured these would be good starting points. My wifes mushroom flatbread arrive lukewarm and was piled high with tasteless mushrooms that appeared to come from a can. There was very little seasoning on the whole dish, barely a hint of garlic and it all felt barely cooked and low quality. The rueben was acceptable, but it similarly it was a bit lukewarm and it didnt seem like the meat in the sandwich was made at the restaurant. At the end of the day, my wife took a few bites of her food and couldnt eat any more, and she was very hungry to start. I ate half of my sandwich. Also note we arrived at 4 PM, so the place was not busy. To be completely honest, we wanted to love this place. Its local and we very much support local businesses. I personally love food and cooking - but I just cant support the low quality ingredients and seemingly low effort preparation this restaurant offers.

2020-02-12The elements for a great restaurant all seem to be there but the execution leaves much to be desired. The place is too dark and noisy, our waitress wasnt too interested in taking orders and the food is OK at best and certainly not worth the premium price. Another restaurant that lacks attention to detail and in need of a few minor tweaks to improve matters significantly.
