Food was good. Service was good until we got our Bill then our server just disappeared. No.kids cups because apparently someone ordered wrong lids. So my wife and I had the pleasure of wearing our sons drink. ( should have been mentioned before just bringing him the full glass. Went with another family ,but because of that our party was 10 and even though we were paying for our own families we were both forced to pay a 20% tip because our party was 8. 6 of which were kids 4 under the age of 6 and 2 toddlers that didnt eat. So Im not totally cool with forcing your max gratuity on me which came to be $32 just for the tip, especially when we were ditched as soon as the bill was dropped off. Service wasnt terrible before that. Just felt like we was taken advantage of. The more I think about it the more it bothers me.
Enjoyed this place so much! The food was so good and there were so many options on the buffet to choose from. The manager was so helpful and friendly! You can tell she really loves what she does. My family and I will definitely be making this our favorite get together from now on.
The absolute worst. The customer service is a disgrace. Sad if Im honest. Very apparent some of them hate what they do, but dont take it out on those of us just looking for a local restaurant to patronize. Do better. If you dont believe this review, take a risk and go see for yourself. Ive been in food and beverage for 20 years(through covid also) and have never seen such a bad representation of a local establishment. When you hire bad management you get bad service. Shocking what poor communication skills,( on Saturday Feb 19 pm shift) the manager had this evening. Absolutely throwing the server under the bus right in front of my family and poor girl( server)couldnt say anything but Im sorry
We gave this place two chances first chance there was only four of us we went in for the buffet. Our waitress was more interested in her phone than her customers. Second time we came in for the buffet with a party of eight. We were automatically charged 20% for the tip. Our waitress served us one beer and she never stopped back at the table. The guys that were supposed to be cleaning off the tables just seemed to be walking around in a circle grabbing a plate or two every now and then. Everything seemed so unorganized both times. Our waitress received a $38 tip for serving one beer. Needless to say we wont be back.
When we called for a reservation we asked if the Easter buffet was a brunch. The person on the phone stated there will be a mixture of breakfast and lunch foods like chicken, ham, eggs, sausage and gravy, and bacon. We got there, no breakfast items. We spoke to the manager and he cussed out my father in law, told us we were wrong and none of his staff would tell us there would be breakfast. He cursed in front of small kids then turned to say happy Easter and god bless. Food was subpar and manager is extremely rude. Wait staff were friendly and wonderful. I’m sorry they have to work under a manager like that.
2nd time we ate here since the rebrand. Admittedly we made the mistake of going during the post-church brunch rush. Hostess said wed have a 10 minute wait that was closer to 30. She seemed to be very flustered. Plenty of open tables, but a waitress was still complaining to the hostess about being swamped. Our waitress was friendly and did a decent job. The food, that was available, left a lot to be desired. They couldnt keep bacon on the bar and the container was empty every time I went up. Ive never seen biscuits and gravy without sausage gravy. The sausage links were pretty gross. On one trip up I came back with just mashed potatoes because there was no chicken or bacon. Orange juice was incredibly watered down. Cinnamon rolls and chicken were the only things I had that were average or better than average.Hate to be this negative, but there really wasnt much to be positive about. Itll be another 6 months to a year before Im willing to give it another shot.
This was my family first time visiting since they got a new menu and they changed up the way they do things and we were all pleasantly surprised! The staff was super nice and the food was great! It wasn’t too busy and our food came out quick! Their chicken chunks are really good and I would definitely recommend! My family and I will definitely be back to visit!
Went in at 530 545 barely anybody inside like 10 people at most, had a decent crowd outside but had 5 to 6 waiters to handle that, was seated at high top bar table , numerous employees looking at us and walking by, even a few girl waiters keep looking at us like nobodys taken care of u?, nope waited 15 minutes no service so we left, went to Applebees spent 60$ on premaid food but atleast we got service. Yes we where seated by the hostess, she actually had to get our drinks because we waited a few minutes and no service so she came over and atleast got us drinks while we waited not to get served
We had 430p reservations for a party of 40 - arrived at 425 - not ready due to earlier party yet occupying space. After seating -approx 20 min wait b4 drink orders were taken. Had to ask for menus- discouraged from ordering off menu - they claimed long waits on food so they suggested the buffet. Used plates never picked up - drinks never refilled unless we requested it. After meal was completed- it was a total disorganized fiasco trying to pay your bill or to get a bill. There was only 1 person working our area. She worked hard and was overwhelmed. Kudos to Brandy.....but i fault her bosses for the disorganized, ill prepared and cluttered service.
I have going here for a long time. This was the first time since the the menu change. Service was great, some new and interesting items on the menu. Food was good. I had the the big gooey cookie, which was good, but could have been more fresh from the oven, it seemed a bit too cool. Good selection of beer. I was reallt missing the old buffet, and dessert bar.
We celebrated my sons 36 birthday there it was very nice there the food was amazing the waitress was awesome kind careing definitely she was a plus we are mist definitely thinking of having more gathering there for sure it definitely worth the drive.thank you all for your services 😀
Oh goodness where do I start....its so beautiful outside then u walk in and its even more beautiful. You are met with such sweet and friendly staff they make u feel like family. Our waiter was so nice and quick. Just an overall lovely place for a relaxing delicious dinner. Definitely recommend!!!
The food was okay, the mac n cheese on the bar tasted like wet pasta noodles no flavor. They need to have more signs as to what time the hot buffet opens. The service sucked, you could tell she wanted to be anywhere else but there,I had to go to the bar an order my own drink (alcohol) they also need signs saying if you use your debit/credit card you will be charged 4% for doing so. I asked where there where signs and was told all over, and when you come in.... I wasnt told when I was seated, nor were there signs coming in or even when I checked out. But when I asked where the signs where I was told all over you just have to look.
Not one to complain but I didnt not enjoy my visit..the food was just very blah..paid twenty dollars for the prime rib buffet and it was fatty and not good at all...I was disappointed with it completely..I like the old version of old barn out back... definitely not worth twenty a person...👎
We went for the brunch buffet on Sunday. Wow! So many food options on the buffet. Plus a create your own omelet bar. They have the best selection of made in house sweets on the buffet to finish off your meal. The staff was very attentive and courteous. The prices are very reasonable. The barn atmosphere is perfect.
We were stressed for time and their fryers were down to one. Our server did her best to accommodate such as bringing us “to go”boxes, silverware, drink cups and our bill with our dinner so that we were all set to eat and go. The food was amazing!! I would post pics but we ate it and had to leave asap. I will most defiantly return the next time I’m in Lima.
The last time I had been to this establishment was about 10 years ago. Was pretty pricey. Today 7-7-2021 we visited with other family members and enjoyed the buffet. It was absolutely delicious . We will visit again. And if you visit here, make sure that you try the deep fried deviled eggs, yum yum 😋
We’ve gone to this place several times over the years and most recently went Father’s Day. Always have enjoyed their food. This time was sadly disappointing. The new management seemed to upgrade the ambiance but decreased the quality of the food. The interior has a nice newer modern look but what it lacked was some A/C. Man, did we sweat thru lunch. My 4 year old was even red in the face and overheated. The buffet overall seemed to have been downsized. Salad bar was really lacking. I’m not sure who ever puts whole baby carrots as a salad topping…simply having them cut or shredded doesn’t seem like a big deal to do, so take the time to do so. Fried chicken tasted like fish and the other foods were just ok. I’m not sure it was worth the long wait or $17. My family and I left so surprised by the quality and experience of our lunch, as we’ve always had good experiences before. I’d rather eat somewhere that didn’t have fresh paint on walls or floor, if the food was better. I’m hoping they can improve or get back to what it was.
This was the second time we (up from Columbus) were there at a dinner meeting. Both times we enjoyed delicious food served by a friendly, helpful staff. The first time we used the dining room buffet from a separate meeting room, and the second time we had a private room with the service catered within our room. We cant wait to enjoy them again!
Saw this place on Facebook. It looked good on the website. It wasnt good at all. The biscuits werent real biscuits the gravy wasnt even sausage gravy the bacon and sausage were the kind you heat up in the microwave. The chicken and waffles werent at all like the picture they gave you a quarter sized piece of chicken on top of a cold waffle. My family was disappointed to say the least. The only part that was ok was the salad bar.
The service and atmosphere was great. Our waitress was awesome and very attentive. Food on the other hand... was not so great. Grilled chicken had zero seasoning. Green beans with bacon as listed on the menu, tasted like cold green beans straight out of a can. There was zero seasoning and no bacon as listed on the menu. Mac and cheese came out cold also. The top layer of the dish was warm as soon as you reached midway through the dish it was cold. Food needs lots of work!
If home made food is what you are looking for, this is probably not your place to dine. This was one of our past favorite Sunday lunch spots. The salad bar is all processed food from Gordon Foods or Sams club. There wasnt any fresh onion or tomato sauce among other regular veggies. Orange juice concentrate was poueed from a kitchen container, not a pitcher, and still warm. 🤔 All the mastalgia is gone. Must have went with the kitchen help. The floor was a sticky mess. Sweetest tween trying to wash tables but he had no clue how to spray the disinfectant or us the wash cloth. The disinfectant was sprayed all over the salt and pepper as well as the napkins. Icing on the cake was when the frequent diner app wasnt in service. Times are tough, hope the new owners contact their parents, get the recipes and put some elbow grease into the place. Its an easy fix. 😉
We drove from Ft Wayne, just to eat lunch. The buffet for lunch was not a huge one by all means, but what they had sure packed a punch!!! Absolutely delicious!!! We saw the TikTok and decided to try it. I just wish they would have said that the video we saw was only on holidays. Nonetheless, we would definitely try it again. Probably on a holiday or a Sunday. Service was decent.
My girlfriend and I were traveling and ran across some reviews for thia resturant. We happily enjoyed the Sunday brunch with well prepared and excellent quality food. Our server Mackenzy was extremely attentive even with several other tables. The Manager Shaneta ( apologies if we spelled that wrong) stopped in to check on us and make sure everything was alright. A breif discussion ensued and we learned that the excelent service we were reciving was coming from less people than normal as a few workers were out. Overall the food was excellent, the service was wonderful, and the people were lovely. I am sure we will be back.
Wonderful experience!! Im not on TikTok, but someone posted a video of this place on Tiktok and it was shared to Facebook where I saw it. We came from Findlay to eat here. We were NOT disappointed!! The food was incredible, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere was so cozy! Bailey was our waitress and she was the best! She was attentive and our drinks were never empty. We ordered off the menu as the buffet ends at 2, and Im so excited to come back to try to buffet too! Our only complaint is that we didnt know this place existed sooner!! Also, huge fan of the blackberry prairie wheat beer!
Food was disgusting nice place and people, but food was absolutely disgusting. Mac and cheese was terrible, was like water and soupy tasted awful and the chicken was very slimy. Extremely disappointed in the taste and food quality. The rolls taste like they have been sitting all day and were hard. Really professional thing to say, get better food! Cant take it from someone other than a few friends? You know the only business you get. 😁
I took my kids for lunch, thinking we would eat the lunch Buffet. We arrived at 1:45 no knowing the Buffett ended at 2pm. The waitress didnt tell us, the food was BARELY edible and we found out only AFTER we waited for fresh chicken to be put out, that there was no fresh food being provided. When I spoke to the manager to express my concern and disappointment, I was told the food was out out not to long before we arrived.... THE SAME 3 PIECES OD CHICKEN WERE IN THE PAN WHILE WE WERE THERE! The potatoes were dry, and the pork was also dried out. We were offered a few fresh pieces of chicken to go, which was ridiculous! If I would have been told the options upon arrival, I could have ordered food accordingly, and not been made to pay a $50 something bill for not being able to eat.Not a good visit AT ALL.
The upgrades to the restaurant look amazing and staff was so friendly. We had a large party so we got a few appetizers and some flights of their local beer to decide what we wanted, they were all great! I really loved the fried pickles. Salad bar is smaller but selections are much higher end and staff was great at helping. We ordered the ribeye and let’s just say it was the best steak my husband ever had! Cookie in the cast iron skilled just finished off what was a great meal! We will be back.
Used to be the best buffet Id ate at. Since switching ownership, whether in the family or not, it has gone down hill. Prices are twice what they used to be with half the selection. Foods still good, But disappointing if you frequented the restaurant before the change.
We went to the old barn out back on 2/27/2021. This is the first time I have been there since the remodel. We had a great experience. Only had about a 10min wait for our table. Our server was on top of EVERYTHING! She was very friendly and even let us sample some beer before deciding which to get. The atmosphere here is very homey. We have an almost 2 year old....we found out that they try to seat families with kids, in the same section as other families with kids. The food was great and the whole dining experience we didnt have 1 thing to complain about!
Never informed us the buffet ended at 2pm. Not posted anywhere. Got there at 1:50 no announcement. We ordered the buffet. I got a salad my kids got 1 piece of check and a side. They took all the food away and tried to charge me for the full buffet. I said no and they offered 10% off. I told them that was not acceptable. I would not pay for a non-existent buffet. They still charged us all a one trip kids price even though I never made it to the food. Horrible service. Ill never make that trip again.
The service is now with an attitude with some of the waitress. The food, is always a problem. This was my last time going there for a while if ever. There is a women there Iris that is very good but I rarely get her for a waitress. I used to love going there but the young people working seem not to care any more
We hadnt been back to the Barn for a few years, so we decided to check it out.Boy, were we disappointed! My ciabatta pizza came out cold and tasted awful, never took more than 2 bites. My husbands hamburger was, as he put it, average at best, and just barely warm. Our server was sweet but service was very slow. Wont be returning and I feel bad because it is local and we always choose local if possible.
Chose to make reservation with OBOB due to size of facility to accommodate a large group and for the diverse menu choices including vegetarian. Arrived and was told 10 of us could sit together and 4 would have to sit separate. We wanted our whole group to sit together, so they accommodated by hurrying to set up a table across the restaurant. What I found interesting is there were tables obviously set up for another reserved party in front of the fireplace. Curious to know why that reservation was set up and not ours? Also wonder how they would have accommodated us if it was a busier time. Not sure if us being moved across the restaurant caused a problem for the waitress because she was not available. She was there to serve drinks and salads. After that the kids in the kitchen took care of us bringing food out, missing meals, missing side orders, condiments, napkins, etc. The chipotle black bean burger was supposed to come with sour cream and salsa, but when the kid brought it out he stated it was supposed to come with salsa but they were out. Very dry without the items it is supposed to come with. Wish we were told they were out of items while ordering so could choose something else. All white chicken dinner ordered and received dark meat. Again could have been corrected, but waitress not available so others at our table who ordered chicken just swapped pieces. Shrimp Alfredo pasta (only 6 shrimp not like the picture) bland and had way too many onions and no roll. Would suggest to anyone with a large group to maybe come at the times the lunch buffet is offered or the Sunday brunch. Not impressed with ordering off the menu for a large group. Many kudos to staff wanting and choosing to work, especially the kids in the kitchen. I think maybe there could have been something behind the scenes going on or maybe the other reserved party took our waitress away from being readily available to us.
We came here wanting a place big enough to handle our group ( approximately 25 of us). Also to not have to wait for everyone to order we all got the lunch buffet. Staff was courteous and attentive. Very limited number of items on the buffet. Food was tasty except for the fried chicken (it was dried out). Ill give them a pass on the chicken because of covid-19. We were probably more than half of the diners in the restaurant. It would be hard to keep fried chicken moist and hot for such a small number of people eating. Buffets are going to struggle to stay afloat until this pandemic ends.
Wonderful new atmosphere! Our waitress, Shanetta, was fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. The buffet was very good including fried chicken and ribs. As always they cater to their older clientele in the morning but I think the new format will definitely attract a wide variety of customers. We’ll be back!
First time visitors to the Old Barn. Great atmosphere, food and beverages. My son ordered the filet. It was so tender, he could cut it with his butter knife. My daughter mac&cheese with chicken tenders. She really enjoyed it. I ordered the lobster mac&cheese. I had bacon added to it and it was delicious. Be aware that the lobster mac &cheese has scallops and crawfish in it too. Having spent a lot of my life on the east coast I know the texture/flavor difference between lobster, scallops and crawfish. They dont skimp on the seafood in the mac&cheese either. The house beers are delicious too. Definitely try the Old Barn Brew. The staff was friendly and helpful in giving suggestions on food and beer. Will definitely be going back again.Update: we went for Sunday Brunch. It was Awesome! So many great items to choose from. If you leave hungry, it is your own fault. We will definitely be going back.
The atmosphere here is great and the staff couldnt have been more friendly and accommodating. My family all got the buffet and it was all so good! And talk about huge, the buffet had a fantastic selection of meat, sides, salad and salad dressings, pies, cakes, cookies, and a few flavors of soft serve ice cream. OMG, if you leave there hungry they must have run out of food!! Very cozy and warm feeling there even though it is a decent sized place. I cant wait to go back again! 😁
Service was ok. The food was terrible. This is my 2nd sub par visit here. Steaks undercooked. 3 in our group had the brisket and said it was bad. I had the buffet. I cant serve myself due to covid. The server actually used her hands to move my food around on my plate! Then tried serving me on a dirty plate. I dont recommend this place and wont be back.
Ordered the mushroom, swiss burger and baked potato. The meat was burned, the mushrooms were thin and burned and the cheese was so thin you could see thru it! The potato was burned on the outside but hard on the inside. The bun, yeah, it was burned too. They use to have great food! What the heck happened?? Unfortunately, I wont be going back.
Very small bar, but they have a chocolate porter, so theres that. Apparently, they have live music on Sat nights now! Just found out. Cant wait! All the other usual spots are letting me down. Looking forward to what they offer. Will update after i get a chance to see a show.
Im not a buffet guy. But this is no ordinary buffet. Most places with dinners and desserts this good put Amish somewhere in their name. All the food is cooked up fresh. The soups and desserts scream homemade! And the atmosphere is quaintly unique.Weve went there for years and never been disappointed. Can handle all sizes of crowds too.
I saw smoked beef brisket on the menu. But the description states that it is oven roasted for 14 hours. I asked and was told it is not smoked. I ordered it anyway and it came out in huge thick slices that were grilled with a small amount of bbq sauce on them. The brisket was very rubbery and I had to cut it with a knife. I could not eat it. Had great flavor but was not edible. I told the waitress and her response was ok. 20 minutes or at least it felt that long went by and I said is someone coming to talk to me or did you tell anyone, you never asked if I wanted anything else or said Im sorry you just said ok and went on your way. She stated that they took it off the bill and she said my bad your right did you want anything else. She also told me not to get the macaroni n cheese. I was not impressed. The appetizer sampler was great however and I should have just had it for the dinner. My overall experience was disappointed. Service was extremely slow and if it wasnt for the appetizer the review would be a 1 star.
I would give this place a zero if that was an option. We are there for the first time since they changed. First and last time. My son and daughter in law ordered beef brisket sandwiches, they both said it appeared that the beef was boiled and had a little bit of barbq sauce on top. I had a bean burger, that is basically a bean burger between a bun, no toppings except salsa. One of the kids had mac and cheese, I assume by the amount left in his bowl, that was nasty as well. The french fries were barely edible. The salad was the only thing that was decent, kind of hard to mess that up. I would highly recommend going elsewhere. I dont see this place being open long. Nasty food.
Best brunch n dinner buffet in Lima. One of our favorite places to eat. Fast forward to now. I loved this place. Drove hour n a half to eat there. Was all around great place to eat,but recently the next generation took it over n did lot of change. They lessened the Sunday brunch to half the size n raised price. Took down all the decor n strung some lights across top of walls. Added a bar n patio. So much for the family dining theme. Hello bar. Will be surprised if it makes it a year the way it is now.i wont be back as well as few others I know. We enjoyed the family atmosphere not into bars. Think they changed too much too fast.
First, the remodeling looks great. The original look was cool too, just modernized now. I ordered the 18 Oz ribeye steak- medium, without ever having one here. So a $26 risk I was unsure of, but rest assured it was well worth it. Actually cooked correctly, seasoned nice. Nice, clean place and the staff is quick to keep your table cleaned and needs met. Hardly a wait, so this is a no brainer. Ethan was very helpful, put him through the ringer on questions, but he knocked em outta the park.
Tonight was the second time since the change that I ate there. I must say this experience was as bad as the first time, thought I would give it another shot, so disappointed. I may be strange, but I really like hot food, green beans were hardly warm, and the fried chicken must have been made yesterday and left out to dry out, and cold. I got my salad last, very disappointed and will not go back or recommend to anyone.
I was there with a friend recently. The website said they were open till 9. We got there about 7:45. The doors were locked. A couple just happened to be coming out. A waitress came to the door. She said their winter hours were till 8 or they close early if they werent busy. The website said nothing about winter hours! They let us in reluctantly. We decided to get the buffet so we wouldnt take too long. We felt very rushed. After taking our drink order, they only came back to our table to bring the check. Thats when they also asked if we wanted more to drink. There were other people still there. I would say they didnt know anything about winter hours either. Normally I love eating there, but this time the service was very poor..
You wont leave hungry! Nice selection of entrees on the buffet and great sides... stuffing, mashed potatoes, and more. Salad bar is loaded as well. There is soup, baked potatoes, dinner rolls, cinnamon rolls... all you can eat. Top it off with a great dessert bar. All kinds of pies, cakes, cookies, brownies, delicious. Staff is friendly and greets you with a smile.
Food always tastes good from the buffet. Ive never tried the menu food. They have a very fitting name for the aesthetic of the place, kinda like youre in the country in a barn (though the place is clean). Id rate the buffet somewhere in-between a Golden corral/ hometown buffet and a der dutchman, leaning towards the golden side more but with a similar price to golden corral.Price considering, this is a good buffet with a good staff to match.
I went to the OBOB Saturday buffet today (7/30/16) and had some of the best home made food that I have ever had. The ribs were perfect and fell off of the bone, the home made BBQ sauce was to die for, I cut my steak with my fork, the fried chicken was awesome, all of the sides were delicious. The salad and desert bar looked very nice. There was plenty of everything, nothing ran out or ran low. I ate so much that I didnt have room to try their deserts. The staff was kind, friendly, and helpful. When the manager asked me how everything was, and I told her that I ate so much that I didnt have room for desert, she said sit down and relax awhile until you have room for desert I swear thats what she said! The Friday and Saturday buffet is $14.99, I would have paid that for just the ribs!!! I drove 55 minutes from Troy, and will be making a return trip every weekend. BTW, I really like this place. :-)
Very nice and friendly staff. Food SUPERB and the setting is so relaxed and laid back.. Everything in the buffet was kept fresh, warm/cold and any mess/spill was diligently cleaned up w/o any fuss. Its handicap friendly and their service is outstanding! I highly recommend it to any and all to try it out - you wont regret it!!
In my opinion their prices are super high and the quality of the food does not justify the ridiculously high costFirst they were out of ribs so I ordered the shrimp and lobster fett which was $26 bucks it was bland basically tasteless and Im pretty sure the lobster was actually crawfish tails not lobster at all my wife ordered the tilapia which was $20 bucks for that she got a tiny little piece of fishThe chicken was so dry my nephew could barely eat it the only good thing about this place is their servers are awesome people but still not awesome enough to justify their high pricesMy suggestion take the $$$ your about to spend here and go to Texas road house or olive garden
Huge interior and feels as much like a barn on the inside as it looks like one on the outside. They have really good, filling food that tastes home-cooked. They had a warming oven with fresh dinner rolls and cinnamon rolls inside being kept warm. I thought I was doomed to have an incredible and satisfying meal that would also destroy any diet hopes for the weekend, but to my surprise there was actually a really good salad there with lots of dressing and topping options.
Just went to the New Old Barn Restaurant and Grill and let me say it’s a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE!! The menu, drinks and look of the place is totally worth the trip. The food was fabulous (deep fried deviled eggs-who’d thought ?) and the bar area was really cool- didn’t feel like I was in Lima Ohio. They have their own beer made especially for them from a brewery in Maria Stein that was my favorite. It’s nothing like the Old Barn pre-COVID, so most of the negative reviews that are listed are before June 9th 2020. Well done-🎉👏😎 👍 I’ll be back!
Went for the breakfast Bar. Price is worth it. You could get the brunch for just 3$ more. Breakfast it good. With something for everyone. They could add a couple thing which would only make it better. Did not try the omelette station. Due to being busy which is a good sign to me.
I was there with a family special occasion. The food was good with nice selections. The staff was outstanding, and seemed like they enjoyed their jobs, and took pride in the restaurant. Our group had a private area which worked well. I would definitely recommend the restaurant! ....Just one suggestion if the owners read these reviews: it would be very helpful for those of us who do not live in the area if you had better signage for coming off of the main road. For a first time visitor, it is confusing trying to find the entrance!
Last time was good, but this time the waitress was so busy, we had to ask twice for drink refills. There were 3 and sometimes 4 employees standing in the section where you come in. They were busy chatting and not really paying attention to anything. The one came and cleared a table, but missed some of the stuff on the table when she was wiping it off. She must have been the same one that cleaned our table because it was not clean either. The manager had to come take a drink order for another table. The service really was not good.
Most of the food was very salty and dry or lacked taste. The cinnamon rolls were the saving grace from getting a one star. The floor was very dirty and the booth we sat in was old and rickety. I came here with my parents when I was younger, but it is outdated and not very good food anymore.
Food was ok, take from the bottom to get warm eggs. Selection was good & our waitress was good. The people at the omlet station need supervision, one was working 2 emplyees not so much. The girl making waffles was playing with her phone & sat it down on the prep table - cell phones are full of germs. That should not be allowed. There was a young man there talking and not doing anything.
Food was delicious but waitress really sucked. Didnt bring a straw for someone that can only drink from a straw. and then didnt come take a special order for someone that can not eat buffets due to kidney transplant and couldnt even get the pops right. So disappointed. We took our disabled adults and got worst service in lima.
The Old Barn aint what she used to be. I am truly sorry to say that. The table that our waitness was assigned asked what we would like to drink, That was the last time she came to our table, not even a menu, not even mentioning the buffet, the various selections of the buffet. When we walked in, basically silence, no greeting , we wondered if the staff even knew we were waiting....like we were invisible.Very disappointing service. The food is fine~ good but the complete lack of service made this dining experience frustrating. Something is missing....the spirit of the barn has been lost , very sad to give a 2 star rating.Im hoping management takes care of waitresses that are less than helpful and caring. We still did top because its the right thing to do.Time to BOUNCE BACK OLD BARN!
Great service, and even better food! Amanda was our server and was super kind and could talk about anything you could tell she really enjoyed her job. Simply made my day 😊 I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a relaxed atmosphere but still feel at home! Will come back here for sure
Terrible service, staff was just standing around in groups playing in their phones. Undercooked chicken, green Beans where over done in my preference. Mac and cheese was more Mac than cheese. Pumpkin pie was terrible. I’ve had better biscuits out of a can. Sweet tea wasn’t sweet at all. The only thing that was good was the mashed potatoes
First time being there in awhile. Wasnt quite as good as I remember. Arrived at 3:55 for supper. We knew supper menu didnt start til 4. Wasnt offered that we could wait, and pay supper price. Didnt even switch over until 4:30. Potatoes, noodles, ham, chicken, all dried out. Deserts were good tho!
Usually the food is very good, not the case today. Very little selection, of the selection items were not there. Of the items that were there they had been there for awhile and tasted awful. Plates were dirty and there were no bowls for the soup until we were leaving. Will not be going back anytime soon.
My daughter lives in Toledo, I live in Columbus..Lima is equal distance. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving..we cant be together that day so We decided to try OBOB...yummmmmmmm. We arrived about 30mins before closing, yet never felt rushed, just the opposite. They were so great...and the food was delicious.. I had read a negative review about the dressing being whole pieces of bread..... Oh my gosh it was so good it was like a bread lasagna it was so moist and flavorful. PEOPLE NEED TO NOT BE NEGATIVE JUST BECAUSE SOMETHING IS DIFFERENT. The beef tips, the pulled pork and ribs were super tender and moist. The Fried chicken pieces were huge. The mashed potatoes were delicious. And a dessert bar that was wonderful... Cinnamon rolls with cinnamon butter OMG...WE WILL BE BACK
Never will return!! We went to this restaurant for the lunch buffet, asked if we were to late they said we were just in time! We began with our salad asked if we done with the hot bar because we were holding up all the customers that were waiting for dinner!! The employees were rude, and we felt unwelcomed. We cant believe how terrible our lunch experience was
Excellent food especially for the value on Sundays you get all the best of every breakfast brunch and dinner 13 bucks for some basically a hundred percent home cooked food you cant beat it not to mention even if you get there late theres still bringing out fresh food I dont care if youre the only person in the restaurant they will put out fresh food just for you thats remarkable youll never find that another Buffet.I would highly recommend this especially if youre looking for a buffet experience without the Buffet taste this is your place everything is basically homemade like I said fresh bread fresh fruit fresh salads fresh ham chicken out of the ovens straight to you like I said you go on Sunday you get all the Best of Both Worlds if you get the brunch buffet made-to-order omelettes, Belgian waffles( with homemade sauces) its just insane what they offer for the price in the atmosphere very clean place. Among other things I would definitely 100% highly recommend the fried chicken very very good.. and if youre fortunate enough to go and Sunday and by the brunch buffet you can have chicken and waffles that make you want to slap your grandma... right before you give her a big hug and tell you just playing LOL
Food was ok I guess. Chicken was a little greasy. Dressing was yucky. Mashed potatoes was good. Dessert was ok. The salad was great though. The people were nice and service was acceptable. The place though was a bit ran down and wasnt clean. I could tell that at one time this was an amazing place but now it felt like it was falling apart. Yes it was an old barn but still you can have the old barn feel while maintaining a good clean place. Just compare it to the Barn restaurant at best Sauder Village in Archbold to see a barn themed place done right.
Most food was bland. Other foods were very salty. Safest thing to eat was fruit and/or salad. I thought the food was cooked from scratch; NOT!!! The air conditioning was good only in certain areas. It wasnt working well in our section. This place needs to close down!! Awful!!
Was there last evening, (8/03/16) service was decent however the quality of the food was less than desirable, It was my first time there, drove 75 miles to meet friends for dinner. I noticed that they said they have been in business 35 years. How the heck did they do that with the poor quality of their food. If this is the best Lima has to offer I will go to McDonalds. I hate to criticize any eating establishment and it is rare that I do because I own part of one in Colorado and know darn well things can go wrong some days, it happens. In this case everything I tried was of marginal quality. I will avoid this place if at all possible and go get a burger at the Keewpe.
I give it one star. Only reason is there are no half stars. My wife has been wanting to eat here since we arrived in Lima a month ago.I can honestly say I havent ate like this since the last time I was at the hospital. No flavor, dried out food, gravy FULL of lumps!A &30.00 mistake we will not repeat.
Went 2 old barn out back for dinner on4-28-2016. the food was 2 bad for words.all the rolls in warmer were hard.dessert tasted stale. years ago the food was great. dont know what happen. please someone tell me what happen . drove all the way from piqua just 2 eat. by the way the ice cream was the only good thing.
The service was average but anything you could eat was terrible.the staff was caring but anything they didnt prepare in the kitchen was brought from the buffet. All in all wouldnt feed it to the raccoon living under my house. Wouldnt go back if they payed me. Even the cookies tasted worse than my hat.

2022-04-17Have not been impressed with this place for many years. Come back occasionally hoping for the best, but have yet to be 100% pleased.Overpriced buffet for the amount of items on the buffet.Sides on buffet typically look like theyve been sitting way too long.Came in with a decent size party tonight, and no one was pleased. Those that got the buffet were finished eating well before the menu orders were brought to the table. From order to meal delivery was over an hour. The appetizers arrived 2 minutes before the meals. The dinners were disappointing. I personally had grilled chicken with broccoli and baked potato. While a decent size, the chicken was warm the broccoli was cold and the potato was cool and hard.Drink refills were few and infrequent. Staff was more interested in socializing than working.Honestly not worth the time to come here. There are other restaurants in this price point that are far superior. I was hoping that the updates that Old Barn has undergone over the past few years would have improved it, but unfortunately it just doesnt hit the mark.

2022-03-18Thank you to Rachel and all the servers and cooks for making our daughters wedding a beautiful event. We highly recommend you to all for your outstanding service and food. It was totally a stress free night. Even when we were early arriving after pictures you was able to have the food ready within minutes and it was delicious. And your prices were amazing for the quality of the food!! what a beautiful venue. Thank you again.

2021-07-31We have lived in Lima for over 3 years now and we are kicking ourselves for not going sooner! I got the lobster Mac and Cheese and my husband got the fried chicken, both were amazing! Our server, Bailee, was great. Very attentive and quick with everything we needed. We will be back soon!

2022-06-12Nice atmosphere and the staff was friendly enough. My wife and I got the buffet. Food was rather bland and the selection wasnt huge for the price. The buffet was well attended however and was kept very clean. Unfortunately I think our waitress was busy as it was a certain long wait for drink refills. Would be willing to go back if were in town but not to make a special trip.

2022-04-18The bathrooms were the cleanest and smelled really nice. The tables were clean and the waitress was really nice. She actually had helped us fund out how much their cups were and we bought some. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, and our side dishes were really nice! The only complaint was the Mac N Cheese. It tasted really bland and plain. It honestly tasted like it had no cheese on it. I couldnt eat it and when I tried to feed it to my son. He hated it as well. He actually spit onto the table.

2022-06-05Went for the prime rib buffet. Prime rib was ok, but it was sliced very thin and put in warmer trays which continued to cook the meat further. May be worth getting a carving station to cut as needed if its going to be sliced so thin. Fried chicken was great. Items were a bit limited for the price, but overall it was fine. Attentive and friendly staff.

2022-06-11I was just driving through Ohio and needed somewhere to grab lunch and I am so glad I chose Old Barn. Our server, Brandy was so pleasant and the food was great, especially the pickled eggs from the salad bar. The fried chicken was as juicy and flavorful as you could ask for. I would definitely come back if I didnt live so far away!

2022-07-09Im not big on fast food, but I got there fried fish and it was TO DIE FOR! The batter they use to fry the fish sizzles and melts in your mouth! And it’s perfectly fried! They also have tons of awesome options at the Hot bar and the Salad Bar! Great Customer Service!
