Best ice rink in town! Public skating & skate rental available for a low price. Open hockey offered. Great place for your kids birthday party! Has a pro shop on site, along with a concession stand. Friendly staff. Plenty of parking. Learn to ice skate classes available. Multiple locker rooms and co-ed hockey leagues. Open all year long! Hours available on their website along with description of everything available at the rink. The rink is also on social media like Facebook. Homey comfy rink for all ages!!Been going here for 20+yrs and still hands down my fave ice rink in the tri-state out of all the local rinks!!!
Ive been really wanting to go to their public skate and finally decided to today. Masking is not enforced and I saw several people not wearing masks in the relatively crowded lobby, so I left. Hoping I can try again and give a better review after the pandemic is over.
I booked the ice from 8am-9:30am this morning quite a few weeks ago for my son to have an opportunity to spend time with his friends in a safe environment after all the social distancing this year. I called to confirm we had the time slot two days ago. We showed up this morning and they let the ice hokey team take our time slot WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME and they sent us away. Beware they might not hold your reservation. I had numerous crying kiddos over this and a very disappointed birthday boy. The person in charge was apologetic and offered public skate passes but that doesn’t make up for what happened.Drew- I received your response. I believe it was Rich who booked and let the ice hockey team take our spot.
It may not be the largest or newest rink in the city however they have the skating business perfected. From birthday parties to hosting the cyclones practices they cover it all. The employees all do anything they can to help including awesome learn to skate and learn to play hockey leagues. Luckily they also have a really nice stocked pro shop with great prices as well. I highly recommend this place for family and groups as well!
Great place to play hockey. Sometimes when its warm, the ice stays a little wet after the Zamboni cuts it, but thats to be expected in the summer months. If youre going to watch an adult hockey league game, I recommend dressing warm including gloves and a hat and be sure to bring a blanket and enjoy. Locker rooms could use an update, but they get the job done.
Great ice rink, definitely the best in cincinnati! I go there with 3 kids and they always leave happy. great public sessions on the weekends 2-4 pm. great for birthday parties. my 10 y.o. had a party there/ all guests and kids had so much fun! and you cant beat their party room price. definitely the cheapest in cincinnati and they serve pizza and drinks and cakes. if you decide to go, try their hot chocolate and crepes. super delicious/ the rink is always clean, and they keep cleaning up every 30 min
They have ice to skate on thats about all I can say. The ice at the beginning of the public skating was rough and all cut up. Half way through the session it is extremely rough. They charge $9 on weekends which includes skates so if you have your own skates you still have to pay this which is actually paying for other peoples rentals. It is cheaper during the week. From the looks of the interior, it appears they are barely staying in business and cant afford to paint the walls or make it look halfway appealing. I will not be returning for these reasons and the fact that it is a long drive for us.
Crepes and Belgian waffles on the weekends are very delicious. We used to come here once a month for public ice skating, now we go there every week for skating and crepes. my kids LOVE belgian waffles and Ive tried almost all crepes on the menu and they are all super delicious and very big :)
The only reason this isn’t getting one star review is the fact my friends had fun. The staff was absolutely garbage, they argued with us on things that didn’t have anything to do with “expertise” they literally didn’t want to take the time to hit the “redeem” on a groupon. Then, the two gentleman working were the rudest they could have been. Lastly, they changed the free skate times the day of, which is the lowest on the scale of disappointing.

2019-04-29Yesterday we had THE BEST birthday party ever at northland! Kids were so happy! It was FUN!!! Everything was organized. They Let us in early to decorate the party room. Both managers personally helped me with balloons! Such a great place! Definitely recommend and very grateful for all theyve done.

2018-08-15It might be a smaller rink, but the atmosphere makes up for that. Ive been here a total of 3 times, once during the incredibly busy holiday season and twice in the off season. Each time Im greeted with a friendly staff who will actually hold a conversation with you and answer your questions. I love going here every once in awhile, just to scratch the itch of skating. The only drawback is that the ice never seems to be completely smooth, even if just zambonied.

2021-12-26It is a little cold, but it is an ice rink, so that should be expected. My wife and I brought our three daughters and two sons here to skate this past Thursday and the place was very busy. We forgot to bring gloves and we asked if they had any for sale or any just lying around that we could possibly use? The two girls behind the register gave me a look as if I was speaking a foreign language and the guy next to to them was just staring at his phone. There was a guy with a beard wearing a hat sharpening skates that heard us asking a question and he left the skates for a minute to see what we needed. He said they do have some gloves for sale in the pro shop, but we didn’t really have enough money to buy gloves for the whole family so we were thinking of leaving and my youngest started to cry because she wanted to skate so bad. So this guy told us to hang on for just a minute. He finished his sharpening and went into the pro shop and he BOUGHT all seven of us gloves! Took actual money out of his pocket and bought us gloves! He apologized for the rude behavior at the register and told us he appreciated our business very much. I didn’t get his name, but if it weren’t for him we would have left. So thank you very much and we will be coming back.

2022-01-09Smaller rink that hosts hockey games and has open skate time. Skates for rent are nice and well maintained. Also have a snack bar with lots of options. Pro shop on site has lots even though its a smaller space - good prices.

2021-05-06Nothing but good things to say about this place. First, I take lessons here and the skating director who gives them is first class, patient and an all around supportive person. They offer plenty of public skate sessions too which is rare when compared to other rinks so I can always find some time to practice. The ice usually always cut before sessions and they have very fair pricing. Oh, and they have a good pro shop too. Love it here. I just wish I lived closer and could come every day!

2022-02-07I am sure this place has its issues with workers, and it struggle to have a profitable business.....BUT come on you need to have someone to sell hot chocolate and coffee, as the viewing area is ICE COLD.. Tried multiple times to time the single employee to get some but was told he is now over sharpening skating blades... ??

2021-11-27Much better than sports plus but still not saying a lot. Inattentive staff that roll their eyes when you ask for skates, skates with missing laces or laces to short to be usable. Small changes would make a big difference.

2021-01-30Great price for their open skate! The only reason Im giving 4 stars is because I did feel like there should be a capacity for open skate, since it got pretty busy at times, and it just becomes hard to maneuver on the ice. Granted, we got there when they first opened, and it started out pretty quiet!

2021-01-26Nice Ice rink. Taking 1 star off because admission price is the same if you bring your own gear or rent from them.

2020-12-28We were there on Sunday Dec. 27. The front desk people were awesome. They do however need someone on the ice to regulate young teens that aren’t there with parents or are with parents that don’t care how they act. There were a number of toddlers that we’re trying to learn to skate but couldn’t get a hold of one of the red things that help these kids stand up, because these older kids were messing around with them. These kids were obviously junior hockey players by some of the drills they were doing and the way they were skating. At times it was a very dangerous place to be. The rink was nice though.
