I have been going here since I was a toddler and I have always left satisfied! I highly recommend a banana milkshake and the Philly sandwich or Pedro’s Pick. The cheesy hash browns are yummy too. The food is always warm and fresh tasting. I never have sent anything back. The menu has some great choices for everyone. Lots to choose from! Prices are good, you always get hearty portion sizes. Never have had a complaint on customer service. Dessert and cocktails are worth a look at as well. This is an excellent place to meet with friends to grab lunch. I tell my friends, “a lot of people have disappointed me, but Grinders never does” lol. It’s been my family’s favorite for nearly two decades. The other locations have treated me just as well! Sometimes service is a little slow, but I’m patient for good things!
Called in an order five minutes to five on a Friday night. I could tell it was busy based on the background noise. I got to the restaurant to pick it up and my order wasnt there. We made sure I called the correct Grinders. I did. The manager came right over and started to rush my order. He also gave me a discount for the missing order. Low and behold our order was there just under a different name. Everyone was very pleasant even under pressure.
Make sure to visit this location if you havent in a while. I havent been due to not such great service and food in the past, but this visit was beyond pleasant, downright awesome! The new manager, Ms. Erin, is amazing at what she does. Ms. April, my server, was on top of it, all of it! The atmosphere is very welcoming and sanitary! The people are phenomenal! The food is excellent! 10stars and thanks for a much better experience!
Excellent service, welcoming atmosphere. Food was mixed. The meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes was delicious. French onion soup was great; at other places I’ve had it with generic cheese and oversalted broth, but this bowl was perfect. The Chicken Supreme salad with apples and walnuts was disappointing. The accompaniments were tasty but the chicken salad itself had no flavor and was quite dry. However, I’d happily go back and try something different, we had a very good experience.
Grinders is one of the most consistently high quality restaurants youll ever find in this area. Every meal is delicious and fresh, and all of the staff are very friendly. This is one of our regular spots! We love to sit on the patio when the weather is decent. Even though it just looks out over the parking lot, it is cozy and intimate and you dont even notice the cars or any Main St road noise.
The French onion soup was yummy. Flavorful, hot and what I would expect. My cashew chicken salad was not impressive. It seemed like finely chopped bagged salad with cashews and cold/flavorless chicken, which I really couldnt make myself eat. It was sad. Wait staff checked on me occasionally but was not above and beyond nor were they happy to be there.
This is my favorite Grinders location! The staff is extremely friendly. I highly recommend the strawberry walnut wrap, key west salad, rice pilaf, and mac n cheese flatbread. Also, my out-of-town grandparents said the best burger they ever had was from Grinders. The desserts alone at Grinders make dining there worth it. The fruit pies are always so fresh, the chocolate cheesecakes are so rich and delicious, and the tuxedo cake is the best around. The prices are very reasonable and if you dine there often, be sure to sign up for the reward program and youll also get $5 off during your birthday month!
Probably my #1 favorite local goto for good food at reasonable prices. The Italian stuffed peppers are amazing, and you cant beat their homemade desserts.Oh. The fried mushrooms are out of this world and the homemade horsey sauce may blast your head off. Best iced tea around as well.
Love this place. this was only my second time going here and both times Ive gotten a personal pan 8inch pizza pepperoni and jalepenos and its the best pizza Ive ever had and the service is always great, and so quick and they are friendly. this is the best spot for a quick and fast bite and really delicious food.
You must wear a mask to enter this restaurant. Our food was very good and served quickly. This was important to us because we were on a lunch break. Our salad was served very cold and the lettuce was fresh and not brown. The salad dressing was tasty and also fresh tasting. We had water and ice tea. Our glasses was kept full. Our waitress was efficient and pleasant. One negative aspect of our lunch was the nosy waitress from the next table. She joined our conversation several times trying to add her opinion to our conversation. Our conversation should be private and she should just do her job. Overall our lunch experience was very good.
I dont know what happened to this place but the food was terrible. I got a club and hubs got the New phili. His meat was so salty the meal was inedible. On my sandwich the bread was super stale. We at least shared it so he had something to eat. Service was spotty and we didnt see our waitress enough to tell her. Im not even sure we got refills. This used to be a fave, doubt well be back anytime soon.
Has a nice variety of soups and sandwiches. Very nice atmosphere and seating. Server was a bit distant and hands off. As much as I like the atmosphere they are way too skimpy on the meat put on their grinders. Fries are cold and the timing of the meal could be much better. Gave three stars because it could be better and didnt want to give the impression it wasnt worth eating here. Desserts look wonderful but theres some confusion among the staff about what desserts are in the case. The response I got about not knowing was that the desserts were not made there and they didnt know. They make a good latte worth ordering. Has a nice variety of herbal teas. With some more meat and better informed employees this place would gain a star or two
The strawberry walnut wrap was excellent. The Texas burger was overdone and dry. My kiddos didnt eat a thing, at the time, so I got theirs to go and, of course, forgot it on the table 🙊. The staff was great and patient. The place was clean. This was our first time at a sit down since covid started. 4 stars overall just wish my hubbys birthday meal would have been to his liking.
Great food, we eat here a lot!! I only gave them 4 stars today because they really need to train their waitresses a bit better. Like totally!! I cant tell you how many times we heard that during our interactions with our waitress. I just wonder if shes ever waited on the manager!! Wow!! And she didnt have any knowledge of the drink menu because shes not 21. I understand you cant serve it; but you work here; you should have the knowledge to answer simple questions of your customers!
There were five adults going for a nice lunch. Weve eaten at Grinders many times before at the Canton location and love the food. From the moment we sat down our waitress was not very polite. No matter how kind we were to her she would not smile or respond in a kind way. She even walked away before we even finish giving our orders. We were shorted one straw so we asked another waitress if we could have one and we received a look like why are you asking me Im not your waitress. This type of service continued through our entire visit. The one positive was the food was very good and made exactly the way we had asked. If anything I would encourage your staff to smile and be kind to their guests.
We had a large party and had great service. I always appreciate when my drink never sits empty and, although I had water and a pitcher on the table, my familys drinks stayed refilled. Impressive traits when it was a Saturday evening with a large group after church :) accommodating and pretty good food, as well. This was my first time at this Grinders and it was the best experience Ive had at a Grinders. Will definitely be back. Thank you
First time here and was pleasantly surprised! I was expecting grinders obviously and maybe some burger/ sandwich options, but I got crab cakes and it was delicious!! It wasnt that breaded crab cake with little meat either ... it was a lot of bang for your buck considering it came with asparagus, rice, and salad for $11.50. This is unheard of! The menu also gives you the option of 1 or 2 cakes which is nice for a lunch portion. $15.50 for the 2 cakes. Was very busy during the lunch hour but service was quick considering the packed house. We had to sit at the bar to avoid a wait, but still a wonderful experience. This place is a gem ... will definitely be back!!!
They performed far beyond our expectations the past two years for our Holiday Christmas party. They are top notch caterers and their management is fantastic. They offered several honest suggestions for our order and they relieved any of our stresses when it comes to hiring a caterer and hoping they do a good job. Nicole, the assistant manager, is so friendly, easy to work with, hardworking and truly does a wonderful job. We will give them our annual service and highly recommend them for all of your catering needs. The prices are unbeatable, and the service is outstanding.
I was so excited to come to my home town and all I kept telling my wife is I cant wait to have a steak and mushroom grinder man was I so disappointed. Sadly somethin has changed. I know the Italian dressing is not the same as it was in the past. The sandwich was just ok. The service was absolutely blah. Not that she was bad. We got everything drinks, food and refills before asking. She had no personality, my wife only took one bite of her sandwich she didnt care for it not that I was looking for any money off. There was nothing wrong with it, just didnt like it. The waitress never asked if anything was wrong. Sad.
Terribly disappointed I’m how far downhill this place has gone. I used to love going to this restaurant. I Ordered the stuffed peppers and when I bit into a piece of the sausage, itt was still raw, slimy and pink on the inside. When I brought it to the managers attention he refused to take it off the bill and went as far as accusing me of making up problems to get free food. Which would have made sense if I had eaten the whole dish, while I had only 4 bites of myFood. Disgraceful. Disgusting service, the Hart I’ll location is 1000% better AND they cook their food, or at least apologize if it comes out undercooked.
I always seem to have good service here. The food is tasty, and the serving size is always too big for me(I just take it home with me.) The atmosphere is pleasing and well decorated. The parking lot is shared with a few stores, so it is a little hard to find spots as this place is usually quite busy.
9/10 times we have had good service and food. Tonight it was jammed and our food took about an hour. The spaghetti my son ordered was ice cold in spots like it came out of the freezer and wasnt completely heated up in the microwave. They literally took it back, microwaved it, and brought it back in 2 minutes. I laughed. My son still liked it and because we waited so long it didnt take him long to finish it. I really like this place and normally its on point. Never pass up the desserts.
I saw that this restaurant had mostly good reviews, so I was really looking forward to trying it. Well, I wish I hadnt, since I do not enjoy throwing up. Maybe it was what I ordered, but I had lemonade that was too sour, and the southwest wrap which was way too spicy, and a little gross and goopy inside. I could only eat half of the wrap, and when we left the restaurant, I felt like I had a rock in my stomach. Within the hour, I threw up every bit of it.Unfortunately, the waitresss cold demeanor and the fact that it felt like it was 100 degrees on the patio even though there was a light breeze (but it would not reach the patio) and it was not that hot outside, did not help to improve my experience. I also had sweet potato fries with the wrap that were good, but luke warm, and heavily breaded onion rings that were good, but could have used some sort of dipping sauce other than ketchup.I dont think I could ever come back to this place, even to try something else, since the main course I had made me throw up, and the sides were nothing spectacular. Very disappointed, and a little angry.
This has been our go to restaurant and location for Grinders for years. We just tried to call and the guy was somewhat rude and unhelpful. We have been ordering a particular sandwich (which is no longer on the menu) for years, and the guy stated he couldn’t do it. We found this hard to believe as we just ordered it last week and it was no problem. It definitely made it sound like they didnt want our business so we now go to and recommend the Grinders on whipple!
The food is always fairly good. Sometimes the service leaves a lot to be desired. The bartender at the N Canton location is really slow and has to look up drinks.Came back tonight, 3/29/19, for dinner and it was a disaster. My meal was inedible and my husbands incorrect. The waitress brought his replacement and it was still wrong.
I have been coming to Grinders since for the longest time and have always had a great experience. We came in the other night and our server Teigen was spectacular. She was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond for us. Great food with even better service, we will be back!
Terrible take out service and since this is the only option right now, you would think they would have a streamline system by now. I waited for 30 minutes after paying only to find out my food had been brought out and I was never told. I would take the tip back if I could. Only 2 stars because their food is delicious.
I placed my finger on the menu item I wanted and said Id like the Italian stuffed peppers, please. The waitress said that wasnt on the menu. Lets go over this again. I PLACED MY FINGER on the MENU item I wanted, ie the item LISTED ON THE MENU, and the waitress said that item wasnt on the menu. Was I being gaslighted or something? LOL.You handed me a menu with the item on it. I literally pointed at the words. What do you mean it wasnt on the menu?Bizarre experience. I recommend Rocknes instead for great American fare in the area.
They seem to have a high turnover with wait staff and we always have some minor issue. The food is good and there is a great selection. Their kids menu gives a lot of choices. Great desserts too. My favorites? Asian salad, reuben, orange ginger mahi mahi, cheesy hashbrowns and tollhouse sundae.
I come here often with my clients, they love this place. The staff is always wonderful with them and show them alot of attention, and I appreciate that very much. Food is great, my guys always leave feeling to full because they dont want to stop eating. THEY LOVE THIS PLACE, THE STAFF, AND THE FOOD!!!
Great meal and great service (hint, ask for Lisa, she is the best). We have had bad experiences at the one in Hartville. North Canton has changed our minds. To bad. We live right around the corner from Hartville location. At least we can continue to have the baked spaghetti. YUM!
Grinders were NOT on their game tonight. We ordered 3 onion soups which are typically the best in town, but for some reason one bowl was cold, bland and watered down. Tried to get it warmed up to melt the cheese but it only got worse. The kitchen should have a strict protocol with the recipe and procedures. Hoping this was just a fluke and not a trend.😧
Lame...slow day, and server takes forever to get to our table. Order pork chop, tell her well done, and of course she brings it out half-alive! Asked her to take it back and cook it thoroughly, the manager brings it out still undercooked! Still tipped the waitress but damn, u people suck at ur jobs! Wont come back, and defintely wont go to another grinders! Hope some district manager sees this!
Food is usually very good , service good, but seems to have declined in the past year or so and the dessert selection not what it once was......and NO WIFI!! I have more than a few times bypassed Grinders because of no wifi, this service has come to be expected and think its bad customer service to not have it.
Omg...so good. The Asian salad, organge glazed Mahi Mahi, Reuben and tollhouse sundae are some of my personal favorites. They are patient with my toddler and a great place to meet friends. There is truly something for everyone. Beer, coffee, desserts, delicious soups, salads, grinders and entrees. Youll leave full and craving more
Sorry to say I liked the WILD CAUGHT SALMON dinner the menu has changed they now have Atlantic Salmon a farm raised fish of much lesser quality and I would not eat for the same price very disappointed if they want be back better put Wild Caught Salmon back on the menu

2022-02-05I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and brown gravy and a side salad. Plus, I ordered macaroni and cheese. My friend also had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes with green beans. The portions size was good. Both meatloafs and mashed potatoes were at room temperature. The macaroni and cheese was the best part of the meal! The waiter did a good job. Still disappointed in the meatloaf! Cant get that out of my mind.

2022-02-08We happened to be in the neighborhood between appointments and, although wed never eaten at this location, we knew Grinders would be a good place for lunch. We were right. It was a great choice The food was excellent, and the service was nothing short of fantastic. I wish I could remember our servers name because I would publicly recommend her here. Our orders were taken quickly, she was super attentive, friendly, helpful, and although we never felt rushed, we never found ourselves waiting either. Whenever we needed something, she was easy to find and quick to help out.Awesome in all respects. Id recommend them to anyone.

2022-07-18Different Grinders than where we usually go, but the spaghetti was just as good! A good heaping helping of it, plus garlic bread! So tasty! I was so full I took some for left overs to work the next day. They got us in quickly. The restroom was clean. Server was very good.

2021-06-29We had a party of 11 on a Sunday afternoon so we were seated outside. Our server, Angel, was friendly and took great care of our group, who were split up at 3 tables. The service and food were outstanding! I highly recommend the New Phili!

2022-05-14We just ordered a to go order and spent $30 on two sandwiches and an order of what I thought was their beer better onion rings, they quit making them for some reason. They serve little frozen gross onion rings. I was also disappointed in my club sandwich with one little piece of bacon. The quality has gone downhill and what used to be one of my favorite restaurants is no longer.

2022-07-15The food is good! Teagen is the best server! The most annoying and rude thing is when the manager is going around and clearing dishes from tables. Not an excuse me, pardon me or even asking if he can take the dishes. I have had my plate taken away when Im still eating. I stopped to wipe my mouth and saw the plate being quickly taken. Its very annoying. Since that has happened, I keep all of my dishes out of reach of him, whether Im don or not.

2022-07-19Ive been there twice and both times the food and the service were excellent.Edit: this is now one of my favorite places to go. Fresh made soups and salads. My favorite is French onion soup and a chopped salad that has egg, cheese and croutons.

2021-03-09What a terrible experience!! Avoid this place at all costs. Spoiled food like this over ripe avocado is served with the Cobb Salad. When you specifically order greens with your salad, you get 1 little leaf of spinach as shown in the image. A total waste of money. We ended up throwing out $35 of food because no one wanted to eat iceburg lettuce (their beloved mixed greens.) There are plenty of places to eat beside here. Go next door to Twisted Citrus, Jimmy Johns or even Swenson.

2022-01-22Always on point being nice! Ruben should be on bread but its good. Baked spaghetti good. Chicken tenders 👎3.75 for 2 with no sides and no meat. They have some interesting wraps but not allowed corn. Maybe try again.

2022-07-02I have eaten here for years. The food and service are consistently good and the prices are reasonable.
