I was visiting family in Ohio and they suggested Nicks for a meal before I hit the road back to Indiana.. Truth be told, I would drive the 6 hrs again just to visit Nicks! Yes, I said visit.. This restaurant just doesnt havefamily in their name... Its in the service, food, friendliness of the staff and the welcomeness we felt there. Yes, it looks like your averagehole in the wall mom and pop place, but average is definitely not a word Id use to describe it. We were a party of 6 and all have pretty big appetites. The total bill for all of us to get full was only $36!! Thats $6 per person! Not only was the food very reasonably priced, but exceptional in flavor, portions and love put into every bite. No large chain restaurant can boast the same. Im not sure if its a daily occurrence or not, but we actually had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Nick, himself! Very sweet, smart and hilarious man! But be careful, hell talk your ear off if you let him! And, I will definitely let him, whenever I have the pleasure of visiting again! If youve never had the treat of eating at Nicks Family Restaurant, youre depriving yourself!
This is a hidden gem. I ordered a western omelette, which was delicious. Their coffee was surprisingly good, not bitter. The server was busy, but she really hustled. I was very happy with my experience at this diner, and I would highly recommend stopping in.
Looked for local place to eat lunch, and Im usually good with greesy spoon style diners. This was not that. Food was slow to come out for everyone else at the table, and mine didnt come out. Waited another 15 minutes for mine. We could hear our waitress arguing with the cook about who had messed up. To their credit, they didnt charge for my meal. Kids pancakes were fine, coffee wasnt awful. Had trouble getting ketchup and syrup. Staff was very rude to another group that came in right before we left. Generally a pretty poor experience. Not recommended at all.

Great food and great service! I had the cheesecake pancakes and they were very tasty and not too overly sweet. Our waitress, Rachel, was very attentive and friendly. We felt safe, staff had their masks on and the tables were clean and spaced out. We will definitely be back.
This is a little mom and pop type restaurant that is amazing. The food comes out super quick and the servers are amazing. I would definitely recommend to anyone to try.

Had breakfast here this morning for the first time. The service was good and quick. I ordered the chicken fried steak with home fries, eggs and toast. DELICIOUS! The prices are under the average cost of a breakfast but above average in taste.
Under new management it do great now with the foods. Please update the build n the in the building too.
Food was barley ok... We ordered some grits and had to send them back and they never brought us more. The waitress was distracted offered us ketchup but we never got that either so not a very good experiance with this place
Oh. Wow. This was bad. I mean it was disgusting. Avoid the bathrooms at all cost. The food. Well it was even worse. Not edible. I’m not a fan of diners as it but this shouldn’t even be open

Reminds me of when I was a kid typical lunch style restaurant like you had in the drug stores alright kresges are will work so on and so forth I had the two eggs over with country fried steak lots of home fries and ride toast with coffee and it was actually for a little place like this surprise me quite a bit I got there at 1:30 this afternoon Sunday and they were closing at 2 p.m. they still welcome me and I really needed that meal as Im diabetic I need to get something in me and it turned out just great very friendly waitress and cook nice people go there and get yourself a good breakfast

One of our favorite restaurants! Great food and great service! Good breakfast and lunch choices. We go regularly! Sausage gravy is the bomb! Biscuits kinda dry but still delicious! Some days the food is meh, but most of the time is on point!

Unpretentious diner with some fun and delicious dishes. Nothing fancy or frilly. Tasty soups and sandwiches at very reasonable prices. Ask for the Stuffed Pepper Soup: Its delicious!Servers are friendly, helpful and efficient, and Nick the owner is a fun and friendly guy and an excellent host. If I lived closer Id be a regular.
My family and I have been going to this restaurant for 30+ years. Great value for the money and great food with even better employees and wait staff. I live in Columbus now and still stopping every time I come home.
Ive been going here for 12 years now and the food gets better everything I go. The food,service and above all, The prices are incredible. I recommend everybody from the age of fetus to being wheeled away corpse to this place!
How can you mess up breakfast, but they did. Raw, undercooked omelet, coffee was horrible, first visit and will be last.
The waitress was very nice, the coffee was good, not impressed with our breakfast. Scrambled eggs over cooked, home fries cold & under cooked. Very little bacon with meal.

The club sandwich picture says it all. Who ever prepared this sandwich really favored mayonnaise. Alot! So much that it was dripping if thats possible from the bread. We knew that getting takeout was risky with a sandwich so we expected some soggy bread but what we received almost seemed intentional. How could all 4 pieces of bread be lined with so much mayonnaise that it looked like pudding gushing out from the fake turkey when she tried to pick it up. Come on guys.
We had a great time and great breakfast and enjoyable conversation with the staff. Next time Im in Ohio to visit I will go back.

Went to eat there and was disgusted by the state of the place gnats everywhere fly paper dirty tables and the bathrooms were horrible looked like they had not been wiped down in months will not be eating here again.
We used to enjoy going here when our kids were little. Decided to drop in after 5 years.... we were very disappointed.
Found hair in my sausage gravy and biscuits on two separate occasions. Waitress (same one both times) got an attitude when I let her know. I didnt ask for anything else or a refund so I dont know what her problem was. Wont be going back!!
Food was average wasnt bad or overly good...staff was extremely nice...I got the Western Omlette but they dont put cheese on it..thought that was weird...and they have no WiFi and that really sucks....I will probley go back again...

One of my all-time favorite stops in the strip mall behind of the Pizza Hut great breakfast selections as well as lunchtime favorites oh, the southern fried steak platter is my favorite if youre really hungry.

Nats all over the table we sat at. We battled them to eat our food. So cleanliness is not on their side, but the food was good, we all ate the philly omelet.

WE WERE NOT REGULARS AND WE DO NOT LOOK LIKE THEIR TYPICAL CUSTOMER, I SENSE EXTREME DISCRIMINATION & I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE. THIS MORNING ONLY 2 OTHER TABLES IN THE RESTAURANT (WHO ALREADY HAD THEIR FOOD). IT TOOK 35 MINUTES TO GET TWO FRENCH TOAST SLAMS. THE MANAGER STOPPED AT THE OTHER TABLES BUT SAID NOTHING TO US AT ALL. AFTER THE 35 MINUTE WAIT, WE GOT OUR FOOD AND IT LOOKED GOOD EXCEPT FOR THE HOME FRIES THAT WERE BURT AND THE PARTS THAT WERE NOT BURT WERE COVERED IN GREASE. ATTEMPTING TO EAT THE FRENCH TOAST AND IT WAS VERY HARD TO CUT INTO, TURNED THEM OVER AND THEY WERE BURNT BOTH PLATES! FOOD WAS HORRIBLE AND THE WAITRESS WAS NOT SYMPATHETIC AT ALL. SHE DID NOT APOLOGIZE OR HAVE ANY REMORSE. THERE WAS A TABLE THAT WALKED IN RIGHT WHEN WE GOT OUR FOOD. MIND YOU WE DID NOT FINISH ANYTHING ON THE PLATE & THEY RECEIVED BOTH MEALS BEFORE WE EVEN PAID OUR BILL.I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO MISTREATED IN A RESTAURANT BEFORE THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED!
I have come here for breakfast and lunch many many times. Food is always good- family restsurant type. Nothing fancy but good bang for the buck. Support the local small businesses.

Little flies all over flying in your face around your food on tge walls and after I received my food I never was offered a refill until I was completely finished, the place a few years back had a lot friendly atmosphere and waitresses were extremely polite, now their rude with the I dont care attitude so Ill never return being its worse every time.

2021-12-13The food was good, the waitress was excellent. The building is filthy, with water damaged ceiling tiles everywhere, the bathroom was absolutely disgusting, and is right across from the kitchen which didn’t look any better. I sure hope this is a food container just for catching piss water, and isn’t reused in the kitchen. Bottom line is, if the bathroom isn’t clean, the kitchen probably isn’t either. Do better.

Id like to give positive thoughts on Atmosphere but, the teenage girls that wanted to sing the entire time we tried to relax and enjoy our paid for breakfast 🍳 was grrrr and staff just acted as if no one could hear that Racket! Its not my place as a paying CUSTOMER to right the behavior of a few poorly raised Ill mannered youths! Other than the awful singing its good 👍

2022-03-29We stopped at Nicks for Sunday lunch. There was plenty of bacon, turkey, tomatoes and lettuce on my club sandwich at a good price. The others with me also had more than adequate servings. Plus, the servers were great.Normally we go out to dinner rather than breakfast or lunch. Well certainly be back regularly when they resume supper hours.

2022-07-24The waitress was nice is the only good thing about Nicks. The food is horrible. Everything we ordered was bad. And its not a very clean place. Flies everywhere, sticky floors, cobwebs and dust. Dont waste your money.

2022-08-11My food was stolen from the restaurant from grub hub the owner lied to me about remaking it. He said he was going to remake my food after sitting for over a hour. he told me to call back in ten minutes when they told me some guy took it. The owner then refused to remake it and hung up on me. after being a really good customer ordering over 10 times from there I will never go back!

2022-03-01Food it terrible. Its also served with a big hair sticking out of it. The sausage was so salty it puckered your lips! Im not sure how you screw breakfast up that bad? It was my first and last time going there.

2019-06-01Took my car in across the street and stopped in after. The service was good and the food was delicious. Only 4 stars because the coffee tasted burnt. Nothing that cant be fixed. They were very apologetic about the coffee. Nice to find a place that people still care what their customers think!
