I wish I could give this business a better rating but unfortunately I cannot. My family and I live in Florida and had to travel back and forth to Carrollton several times after my great uncle died to deal with his affairs, including his property. From what we heard around the Carrollton community, this family business was one of the best. Initially he was going to also sell the house but we’ve decided to transfer realtors after this horrible experience. After driving back again to Ohio from Florida I went to my uncles home to clean up and prep for the auction. I walked into OUR FAMILIES pole barn and property to, at minimum and as a courtesy, to say hello. There were 3 men inside working, including Bill. I said hello and introduced my husband Eric. I stood there for a minute waiting for anyone to acknowledge us and NOBODY said a word to me. Are you kidding me?Fast forward to the day of the auction. My great uncle had a concert grand piano and several people specifically came to purchase. The day of the auction some people were told that becuase it was a “big ticket” item, Bill would come up to auction the piano in the house. Do you know he completed the sale in the pole barn when there were still several people in the house waiting? People had driven just for this piano.I went to the pop up and spoke to Bill’s wife and another woman inside and the woman literally started at me without saying a word. I was appalled-and still am. I asked her several questions-not aggressively, nor was I mean. But she flat out refused to answer me and just stared at me. As I was walking away one of the men who came to try to purchase the piano walked up to ask why Bill sold already it was why nobody came to check if there was anyone in the house or to at MINIMUM alert anyone that the piano was up for auction. Bill’s wife was very unhelpful. Just stared and acted like she didn’t know anything at all and she definitely was NOT going to go out of her way to find an answer or help. The man went into the pole barn to tell Bill he should out of fairness (the man had been on the property since 8:30am waiting to bid on the piano) he should do it again and Bill refused. So basically our family was out of whatever money could’ve been possible for the grand piano AND again this family was extremely rude and dismissive of another’s request. The day of the auction there were still several items in the garage. They weren’t organized at all and during the auction Bill told everyone to walk around and pick up what they want to purchase. Needless to say it was a complete mess and most of it is left in the garage now-for us to find a way to discard.I found both Bill, his wife and the woman working in the booth with her, to be completely rude and dismissive. I felt zero compassion from either of them. I was so upset that day that I had to leave MY FAMILIES OWN PROPERTY so I wouldnt be upset in front of all the people. Everyone in the house was extremely upset and discouraged and this business came across as lacking integrity. I would never recommend anyone use this company.I understand Bill’s father did the same business and I’d like to think he was a respectable man, which is why his son is still in a thriving business. I imagine he’s a popular business guy around the town since the business has been there a while but as an “outsider” I didn’t feel that same warmth. If you decide to go with him that’s your prerogative. I am not someone who calls people out publicly. I’ve never even completed another Google review but I felt very strongly about my family not being treated respectfully and when you have a business you can’t expect to treat people just any old way and get away with it.

Best place to buy and sell. Been doing business with them over 20 years. Honest and integrity are hard to find. But I found it with The Newells.

I enjoy going to their auctions. I also used them to sell my house, they did so very quickly and professionally.
