A wonderfull caring vet. I Have taken my dogs there since she opened. I even got a call to see if my dog was still alright after his visit. Now that’s what I call attention. I think James Herriot would have given her his stamp of approval. If you don’t know about James Herriot, google it. It’s definetly worth reading.
Best Vet I’ve ever been to! Dr. Coppel is AMAZING and so are all of the staff! Ive been going here since 2018 with my dog, Moxie, and they have never failed to take amazing care of my boy! They treat us like family and always answer any questions I have. They never do any unnecessary tests either which is great! You can tell they truly do love and care for animals.
Absolutely love them! They are so compassionate and very caring of the animals and family that come in. They literally saved my dogs life and I couldnt be more grateful. Theyve treated us amazingly and even have called to get updates on our furry senior. I will forever recommend them to anyone looking for a vet they can trust. Its difficult putting your pet in someone elses hands and they made it so easy.
I had to have my little dog have dental surgery and he is only six years old. I was very worried and had lots of questions but they were great! They answered all my questions and reassured me that he would be fine. He did wonderful and they did a great job that day. He lost 21 teeth but came out just fine and they then answered a ton more questions from me when I picked him up. I won’t take Monkey anywhere else for the rest of his life.
Another thank you to this vet and all others who go above and beyond when faced with irresponsible pet owners. We stand with you, Jodi, all the way from Uruguay where my wife and I tun a 20+ dog rescue for old and disabled dogs. Our vet comes to our ranch weekly for checkups and visits, and cries with us when we have to let one go. Vets are the salt of the earth!
I just recently moved to Newark and was pretty nervous about finding a new vet for my fur baby. I was so pleasantly pleased with how awesome they are!! Everyone was SO nice and professional, you can tell everyone loves every animal that comes through those doors like their own! Ill be a customer for life. Thanks for your awesome care!
Today I had to make a hard decision and have my dog of 13 years to sleep. The staff was so caring and even helped me carry him inside. They then put us in a wonderful room with a comfy dog bed for him and a couch for us. Everyone was so kind and made this hard day a little more bearable. I highly recommend this vet as they truly care about your pet and you.
Always friendly and knowledgeable. Hospital sounds expensive but the prices are so reasonable and better than a lot of places weve been to. Ive had my dog for 4 years and have been to at least 5 or 6 vets and this was the only place that Ive felt truly cared about my dogs well-being and didnt waste my time.
I can’t say enough about Dr. Houser and the vet hospital. In the last few months we lost two dogs that were like family and Dr. Houser was amazing and so compassionate. On the other side, we have a new puppy and she has been equally wonderful. You can tell by the care her and her staff provide that they truly love what they do and love the animals in their care. It’s possible our puppy loves Dr. Houser more than us!
My dog loves the vet.I just had surgery a couple weeks ago so I wasnt able to bring my dogs in. I called ahead and let them know what was going on and they were so awesome to have me call when I got there and they brought my dogs in for me. I have never met a hospital so kind and generous in my life. I love this place my fur babies love this place. It is the best place to get your fur babies treated.
My husband and I have taken our two pugs to Newark Veterinary Hospital for almost four years now and absolutely love them. The staff is always wonderful to deal with, and Dr. houser is absolutely amazing with animals. The moment she walks into the exam room, she will start making over the pugs and loving on them. We have never had a single issue with them. Their exam rooms and lobby are always clean and sanitized, and they provide a very welcoming atmosphere for dogs and cats. We moved to Columbus a year ago, but still make the drive to Newark Animal Hospital because we trust them and love the staff so much.
We have owned pets in several different cities and different states over the years, so weve had a number of different vets. Dr. Houser and her staff at Newark Veterinary Hospital have been the absolute best weve ever had.It is immediately obvious that they truly love all the animals they care for, and they do an incredible job explaining what theyre doing, why theyre doing it, and why its beneficial for your pet.A trip to the vet can be stressful on a pet, but my dog absolutely LOVES going there. That should tell you all you need to know about the standard of care they provide.
We have been with Nothtowne Animal Clinic for more then 10 years now. They are true animal lovers and it shows in every caring deed they do. From our first visit with a puppy to the last day with our beloved fur-kids ... they care about our feelings as much as they care for our pets.Thank you so much for all you do!Highly recommended*
Finding an exotic vet who can treat a sugar glider is a challenge in our area. When my little guy became very Ill, my vet was not in the office to treat him. I called Newark Veterinary Hospital in a desperate attempt to get him treated. They didnt have any appointments available but squeezed me in that day. Dr. Houser was so kind and professional. His illness was unusual and Dr. Houser took the time to consult with other vets to develop a treatment plan. The office called the next morning to check on him. He unfortunately passed that day on our way back to the vet for followup treatment. Dr. Houser came out to greet me and personally express her sympathy. The office mailed us a condolence card with a hand written message from Dr. Houser. They included a cast of his paw prints and a seed packet to plant in his memory. Im overwhelmed with gratitude for Dr. Houser and the staff. Losing a pet is always difficult, especially when its sudden, but they did everything they could to help him and to comfort my family when he passed. Thank you Newark Veterinary Hospital!
I am a vet tech in Florida and I just want to say that even though I don’t know any of you, you are all wonderful, compassionate human beings! This field is not an easy one and knowing that you choose to do this, day in and day out, that your heart is in the right place! I believe that you are all doing the best you can and I pray that you don’t take those to heart that are unaware of how to care for their pet and those who slander others without any knowledge of what they are talking about. It’s going to happen but it’s how you deal with it - that matters! Plus, look at all these positive, beautiful reviews that you received from your clients! That’s truly amazing!
Dr. Houser and her staff are one of a kind. They are all caring and kind. We came after another practice in town misdiagnosed our new puppy. The practice was highly recommended from a friend. Earlier this year our cat was diagnosed with cancer. We eventually had to let him go. She was so supportive from the time he was diagnosed until the time we had to let him go. The process was peaceful and I couldnt have asked for a better doctor or staff to go through the ordeal. The office is clean and you wont find better care anywhere else!
One of the absolute best vets we’ve been to yet. Dr. Houser is very, very warm hearted. She truly connects with every animal that walks through her doors and she cares. That’s more than you can say about most vets around. We truly, truly enjoy her and all she does for us. Your pets are in the best hands here!
They took great care of my bunny!! I was very relieved to know that he is very healthy, especially for such an elderly bunny. I was specifically impressed with how they allowed him to hop out of the carrier on the floor by himself so he could gradually get used to his surroundings and the vet & vet tech performing the exam (bunnies are very anxious animals, so it is crucial to be careful how you approach them). This is the only accredited vet in Licking County that can treat exotics (that Im aware of), so thank goodness we finally have a caring, skilled vet in the local area for my bunny. I used to have to drive at least an hour away to get this type of care. Honestly, I think this vet has even surpassed the out-of-town vet with regards to excellent service. Kudos & thank you for being there for me & my bunny!
The Newark Veterinary Hospital provides top notch care for our furry family members! All of the staff have been wonderful and have been there through the good times (new puppy) and the bad times (saying goodbye to our cherished kitty WIllie). Through all of it they demonstrate professionalism, excellence in care, and compassion. Thank you all for how you care for our pets!
I’ve never been to this practice. But I have a service dog and will be moving back East within the next year. I read about this group and find them to be exemplary people. Preventative care is vital for the health of our animal family members. Knowing that this practice promotes vaccines and educating about best practices makes this area and practice tops on my list. My service dog gets the golden standard red carpet treatment of healthcare. Good to know that a Newark Vet Hospital gives the best care, with compassion.
Keep your head up! Thank you for everything you and your staff do for innocent animals. Your job is thankless, but as an animal lover myself and owner of two dogs and a cat, you are one of the most important people in our lives! My dream is to become a vet tech, and I pray that I’ll be able to work for a compassionate and dedicated veterinarian like you!
As soon as you walk in and see Dr. Housers face you will feel relief she sincerely cares for her pet clients as they were her own. The atmosphere feels right away like a second home knowing everyone will do anything for your pets comfort and speedy recovery. It takes a lot to take care of animals...they cant even talk to explain what is wrong. So commend Dr. Houser and her work family when you go in to see her appreciate the fact that theres a place that will go the extra mile for our pets. You guys are doing a fabulous job. Other peoples consequences arent for you to burden with.
Dr. Houser and her staff are some of the most amazing people you will ever meet. The love that we and our pets feel when we go there is something we’ve never felt at any other veterinary clinic. From the lowest level staff to Dr. Houser, they always make over our girls and seem so happy to assist in any way they can. I recommend Newark Veterinary Hospital because they love your pets as their own, they provide top notch service, and they provide a special experience that you cannot find just anywhere.
I haven’t met this particular vet, but I did read the open letter from her husband. Having spent my youth in my local vet hospital, I can say that this same scenario plays out over and over again. Vets pour their hearts out doing what is best for animals and the people that own them. They feel it when those animals get sick or die. Their heart surges when someone’s animal recovers and gets to live a little longer. Parvo is an awful disease and entirely preventable. It is a terrible thing to let your dog go through. I’ve had the awful experience of coming into work and asking where the isolation dog is, only to be told he didn’t make it. Yes, it smells, yes it’s messy and terrible. And completely preventable. It isn’t fair to rate this hospital based on the disease that a puppy contracted while it wasn’t properly protected. They did, as many other vets do, everything possible to save this young pup, even though they knew the people that were responsible. I give them 5 stars for being caring, upstanding people who continue to put the care of animals above everything. Kudos to you - you have all my respect. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Like many others I too read your husbands Facebook post and felt the need to offer my support. As a former veterinary assistant I have also felt your pain and frustration when a client blames the veterinarian and her staff for the clients own.... we’ll say shortcomings. I eventually walked away. I hope and pray that you and your staff are stronger than I was. Just remember, for every bad client who doesn’t appreciate all that you do, there are thousands of pets out there that are thankful that you are there in their time of need. It is those pets that are the most important anyway. Were you in the Austin Texas area, you would be my veterinarian. God Bless you and your staff.
We have been been very happy with the staff and care they have provided to our pup, Marvel. She loves visiting her people and checking out the office cats too! Weve never had to wait more than a few minutes to be seen, and the office hours are great. The staff truly treats Marvel like one of their own, we appreciate their attentiveness and follow up phone calls/reminders.
AZ vet tech here. You clearly have an amazing hospital and staff. You are truly appreciated by your clients. Keep your chin up! You will always have those who have to blame someone other than themselves for their mistakes. Continue to give the amazing care you do, we need more people like you and your staff in this world. Its doctors like you that make going to work 100% worth the terrible people you may encounter. Wish you all the best!
Every staff member has total dedication to the safety and happiness of the pets that they care for, and are incredibly informative for the pet parents. Prices are reasonable, and the care is top-notch - the technicians and vets all put not only my kitten at ease, but also myself!
Dr. Houser, Thank you for being the caring and compassionate person that you are. Thank you for putting pets first. We understand how hard you work and how difficult some of the days are. Please try to ignore the troll that didnt look after his dog. We know that you cared more for the puppy & the loss of that pup than you do about the troll and his evil post. Hug your loving family...deep breaths and know that there are more of us that respect and appreciate you than there are trolls and the friends of trolls.
Saw your husband’s post on FB and just wanted to leave a review as a show of support. I can’t imagine how incredibly difficult it must be to care for sweet innocent animals without your heart breaking into a million pieces even if the owners are kind and supportive. Keep fighting the good fight - your community needs you. ❤️🐾🐾❤️
From all the way in Australia: I have a beautiful dog with renal failure. We read your husbands fb post and want to thank you for all your work for the animals who need it.A great vet and caring professional clinic is worth its weight in gold.Thank you for all the work you do.And Im glad you dont allow guns in the hospital. ❤❤
That particular client may have been able to spread lies to his buddies, but your story via your husband is spreading across the country like wildfire, just based off of the other reviews posted in the past 48 hours. Vet Tech from MN here, and I’ve had my fair share of people who just don’t understand how much love we put into this career and how many hits we take doing it. Keep your head up, for every bad client there are 100 good ones. 🙂
Called the office day of appointment, told them I wouldnt be able to make it, I am sending my husband. I said my husband knows NOTHING so anything u need to ask, ask me now. They totally disregarded my phone call. Called me like 4 times during the appointment time ( right while I was in the middle of driving a client to Columbus) .Still never received refund for Bordatella shots that were given that were NOT authorized. The office even tried to lie and say my husband authorized them when he did not.(which they should have NEVER been asking him anyways thats why I called!!) Also someone lied and said I just told them to do whatever to my dogs which is another lie. They were specifically scheduled for parvo , rabies and heartworm. NOTHING ELSE should have been forced on my dogs without permission!! Avoid dr Coppel. She is all out for money and giving dogs vaccinations that they dont need. For instance one of the dogs that was brought in was a BLIND 12 year old Chinese crested that dont leave the house. PLEASE TELL ME WHY YOU DECIDED SHE NEEDED BORDTELLA COME ON REALLY?
LOVE Dr. Houser and staff! Ive been taking my 3 dogs to her, and have been very impressed! She has helped our black lab get her allergies under control, and gives such love and attention to my other 2 dogs - a 5 lb teacup chihuahua/dachshund and a min pin rescue from LCHS. And among my entire family, Dr. Houser and staff take wonderful care of our 6 dogs! We will be lifelong patients for sure!
We LOVE Dr. Houser and her staff. We have had some sudden emergencies with several of our dogs and the staff at Newark Vet Hospital have ALWAYS taken the time to get our dogs in immediately....even when they were 30 minutes from closing for the day. Dr. Houser and her staff take the time time with their furry patients and with the parents of the furry patients. We could not have a better Vet for our dogs. Prices are very reasonable as well. Keep up the great work you all do!
I have had 4 dogs seen by Dr Houser and her staff. I will never take my animals anywhere else but here. Dr Houser and her staff are very professional, caring and knows how to explain things to me to where I can understand what is going on with my animals. Every member of her staff is so kind and caring and seem to love my dogs as much as I do! The office is always clean and nice. There is no doubt when making a decision where to take your animal- this is the place! Thank you Dr Houser and all of your staff for continuous care- Winston🐾 Daisy🐾 Bentley🐾
I don’t even live in the states but saw that post from your husband, you and your team are doing great! I study animal health for my bachelor science degree and I understand the importance of vaccines and the prevention of diseases such as parvo, keep all your heads up and high because you are all amazing and deserve SO SO SO SO much more than what is offered to you💖 nothing but love and respect for my fellow animal lovers 💖
I typically never leave a review of a place j haven’t visited but the open letter from Dr. Houser’s husband (re a unhappy customer) reached me in Minnesota. If I lived on the east coast, I would bring my animals to this doctor as she seems so caring and compassionate as does her staff.
I have been going to NVH for years now. Takes care of my MayMay perfectly. She was a rescue and a previous breeded dog and had some female issues that Dr houser’s staff helped us through. She then started having seizures and dr houser and staff got her right in. MayMay is on one medication a day and the seizures are under control. Thanks!!Very trusting and loving clinic. I would not go anywhere else!THANK YOU GUYS FOR BEING SUCH A GREAT CLINIC!!!!!
Dr. Houser and her staff have been my immediate family’s go to for veterinary care and even though they didn’t have to they went to my mother’s home when she couldn’t physically get her dog in the car to take her for treatment. Because they know their pet parents and their unique needs and more than that because they care is why we will continue to have our pets get the best care at New Veterinary Hospital.
I live in your neighbor state, Indiana. Like most of your recent reviews, Ive never been to your practice, but I saw your husbands post and decided to come offset the jerks who gave you bad reviews. No reason you should be berated with anger just because their friend killed his puppy and blamed you. I hope you continue helping people and their animals for years to come!
After reading the entire story on FB, You deserve my 5 star review! No vet goes to school to learn to put animals down, that is not what they strive for, I LOVE my vets and appreciate everything they do for the love of animals. You my friend, are doing outstanding, you took precautions to avoid getting anyone elses animals sick because of the stupidity of the people that want to trash you for doing all you can for something that could have been prevented. Hats off to you and your staff!!!
Weve been to several vets in the area but the first time we visited this place we knew it was the one! This place is just truly amazing! The staff is very caring and Dr. Houser truly cares about the pets. You arent rushed in and out and feel like an important client instead of another number. Procedures and prices are explained and weve never been pushed into something. You wont regret your decision to give this amazing office a try!
Dr. Hauser and all the staff are so kind and caring for my animals. I brought my cat Georgie in last year and unfortunately it was too late to help his kidney issues, but Dr. Hauser and the staff were so very caring about putting him to sleep and his ashes were put in a wooden box with a plaque that had his name on it. They also made a cast of his paw print and put his name on it. It sits in my living room as a wonderful reminder of my beloved kitty.I also have a 14 year old Pug-oodle named Princess that they have taken amazing car of. They are helpful with what to do for dogs her age and treat her with such love and care. Im so very glad a friend of mine suggested Newark Vet Hospital to me and I suggest it to all of my friends. Its a great place to take your pets for excellent care!
Being in the animal field is hard and can sometimes be overwhelming. It takes extremely strong people to survive it. From all that I have read, there is only strength and kindness in this hospital. I know if I am ever in Ohio and need a vet clinic, I will be going here.Support from Iowa
After seeing the Facebook post from Dr. Jodi’s husband, I couldn’t help but leave my thoughts here. I work in a veterinary clinic in Las Vegas, NV, and have watched similar instances go down within my workplace. We are centered in a transient area within the city and have seen parvovirus time and time again. A lot of the time, the people that come to us are without funds and often, the puppies we see are to the point where curing them is no longer an option. We’ve received our fair share of negative reviews as well, but nothing ever as awful as what has been expressed towards Newark. To the absolutely irresponsible pet owner that started this- sir, you need to stop blaming other people for your problems and take responsibility for your own actions. You are the person who condemned your dog to suffer and die in a horrible way. Veterinarians AREN’T miracle workers. They do what we can to save and heal your pets, as Dr. Jodi most certainly did in this case, but not all ailments are reversible. Had you asked questions of her, you would’ve left with a better understanding of what was happening to your puppy, why he was separated from other hospitalized pets and why euthanasia was being recommended. Heck, you may have even had an answer as to why the room smelled as it did (Parvovirus leaves behind a VERY distinct sour smell, for any of you that aren’t familiar with it). You did not, however, and decided instead to trash her via Google review. Which, I’m sorry to say, has failed. From all that I’ve seen, from all of the clients that have come out to support the practice and Dr. Jodi in wake of her husband’s Facebook post, I can safely say that if ever I find myself in Ohio with any of my four personal fur babies, I will bring them here. I can tell from everything I’ve read that the love of both patient and pet is strong at this hospital (which quite honestly, from everything I’ve seen in my city, is a rare find.) You guys are doing a fantastic job and please don’t worry about the one terrible review (quite honestly you should have no blame for what happened- that’s all on him. You did what you could, which is more valuable than the alternative.) And, as my manager always says, for every bad reviews, there are five more good ones :)
Im the owner of Jess In Time Rescue in Grand Rapids, MI. We stand behind you, Dr. Houser. Its very clear, based on all the positive reviews, that you & your staff are knowledgeable, caring, thorough, compassionate, clean & well loved. Thank you for all of your hard work & dedication.
I’ve never met Dr Jodi or been to Newark Veterinary Hospital but I read her husband’s open letter about the public bashing she received from an upset client. I’m a registered vet tech in Indiana & was VERY impressed that this hospital even accepted a parvo puppy without at least a $2000 down payment. I worked for a compassionate vet like her for 10 yrs & after he retired, I found it impossible to locate a practice with the standard of ethics I required to be part of. I didnt get a degree to care for animals so that I could deny service without payment in full in advance. I quit several practices where I was required to turn away an animal that was hit by a car or suffering from an illness like parvo.Dr Houser took this puppy into her clinic & dedicated a full time technician to the isolation room during the puppy’s treatment. She had to pay extra staff during those days because the contamination of parvo is so extreme. Even clinics that accept parvo risk have to charge exorbitant fees because of the isolation requirements. I’ve taken puppies home to give 24 hr supportive care many times when clients couldnt afford to transfer to ER after hours, rather than let the puppy dehydrate & die. I retired early because I wasn’t able to find a compassionate practice after my boss retired, that wouldnt turn sick animals away without the client’s ability to be approved for $2000 credit. Kudos to Dr Houser & her staff at Newark Veterinary Hospital❤️ I wish I lived closer & could work for her practice. And bless Mr Houser for his support during the media stoning that has become so popular these days.Jill Wise, RVT
On Wed Oct. 3, my vet was not in and I had a sick dog. My vet clinic recommended that I take her to Newark Vet Hospital. They were very accommodating and got me in on an emergency basis even though there were no appts. available that day. Kaille (my dog) was coughing and they immediately took me into a private room where she was ultimately diagnosed with Kennel Cough (even though she has the vaccine). Meds were provided, and they took the ultimate care to not expose Kaille to any other part of the clinic. I provided my CC from the room, signed for it in the room and was escorted out a back door, again, so not to expose the clinic to her ailment. The staff and vet were so kind and professional and even followed up the next day to see how Kaille was feeling...and Im not even a regular client. I was so impressed from the first phone call, the appt and the follow-up. I love my current vet, but would come see this clinic again in a heartbeat if needed!
Best vet experience Ive ever had! The staff was very friendly and the Dr was very knowledgeable about the bengal kitten we took there. My wife and I both decided this will be all of our pets veterinary clinic for as long as they live. For anyone looking for a new or better veterinary office to go to, this is the place to go. Thank you all so very much!
Offering my support from Texas! My veterinarian, Dr. Foster in Nolanville, is awesome and I wouldnt dream of denying my dogs the care he provides them. I go to my doctor for preventative care and when Im sick, why wouldnt my pets be afforded the same? Ill never understand that. Keep on keeping on, Dr. Houser!
From what Ive read, the owner of this hospital is a saint and deserves a plethora of five-star reviews on every possible platform to help combat the highly defamatory ones left by a negligent pet owner (really more like abuser) and his legion of terrible friends. So, as a person who has had to help small businesses overcome similar stupidly negative (and unwarranted) bashing online, I leave this five-star review. I wish you all the best of luck with your business and hope you come through this knowing you are wonderful people for taking care of (most) peoples beat friends. ❤️
We have several cats. One has panic attacks whenever he is put in the car. We decided to try a vet closer to home and had heard good things about the Newark Veterinary hospital. That was four or five years ago. I will not go anywhere else. Great Doctor and a warm and caring staff. The most important thing is they listen to us.
Was sent a link to your husbands post on Facebook by a very near and dear friend. Cried at the thought that anyone could be so hurtful as to post negative and untruthful information about a caring, compassionate vet who attempted to save a life of a pet who should never have gotten sick in the first place. PARVO is a preventable disease and if you chose not to vaccinate you chose the outcome. I am so sorry you and your staff are going through this.
Just now saw a repost of your husbands post. I felt it on my heart to leave you a supportive and 5 star review. As a former veterinary assistant at VCA Carmel & Paw Patch and volunteer at the Indianapolis Humane Society as well as FACE, I have run into many uneducated people as well as seen the havoc parvo wreaks on our fur-community. Never second guess your compassion, professionalism, or your field of expertise. Uneducated people that refuse to learn from the past, continue the cycle of ignorance, need not own living things. Its unfortunate there are people out there not willing to accept responsibility for their actions and accuse others. Continue the great work you started.
All of the staff were very friendly, they got us in quickly and answered all of my questions. I had been taking my animals to the same vet since I was a child, but after a string of visits that left me less than satisfied, I made the choice to go elsewhere. Needless to say, I am very pleased with my decision to go to Newark Veterinary Hospital and will definitely go back, even my dog loved them!!!
I am so happy to have found such a good veterinary hospital. They obviously care about the animals they treat and always take the time to explain everything. Everyone in the office is so friendly. I would definitely recommend them if your looking for a good caring vet.
Offering support to Dr. Houser and the rest of the hospital staff during this time. Sending love and prayers from BC, Canada! Stay true to yourself, dont let others stop you from making a difference in the thousands of other families that still have their best friend thanks to your actions!!!
While I will agree with most of the other reviews that this facility is clean, has friendly staff, and they explain their prices well, I unfortunately had a bad experience with my visit to the Newark Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Houser was very friendly and after a quick peek at my cats loose tooth, determined that the tooth was broken and that it would require a $520-$620 surgery to remove the tooth and root. I was surprised that she was able to determine that the tooth was broken with the quick glance she took (even after asking if she was sure it was broken a second time), but who am I to question a Veterinarians diagnosis? (Luckily) I was unable to bring my cat in the next morning for the aforementioned surgery, allowing my wife the ability to take our cat for a second opinion as she wanted, due to the proposed $520-$620 price tag on the surgery. After a more thorough examination of the tooth at Underwood Animal Hospital by Dr Gilbert, my cat is now back to her normal happy self! (minus one tooth). Dr. Gilbert determined that the tooth was most likely NOT broken, and even if it was, she could remove the broken portion to relieve my cats pain until the root could be removed. Luckily, the tooth was NOT broken and was successfully removed with the root intact. Dr. Gilbert and the staff at Underwood Veterinary Hospital in Heath saved me at least $420-520 dollars (minus the $40 I paid for a misdiagnosis) and will continue to be my Vet of choice for my pets healthcare needs. One positive thing from my visit to the Newark Veterinary Hospital was getting to pet Wilson, the friendly office cat!
So disappointed...since our last visit they put an anti-gun sticker on the front entry door...infringing on law abiding sheriff background tested citizens....why go political?? Last time we will ever come back. Shameful.......UPDATE..when the vet confronted us about our concerns, she told us to leave before we could respond, then she insinuated that we would try to steal/rob her narcotics because we are concealed carry permit holders...that is why she has anti-gun sticker. Good thing the criminals read door stickers....
I dont go there but I know how it is to be a vet and have people blast fake news and tell the story that they are horrible owners because they cant comprehend that preventing their animal from passing is up to them from the get go. All the shots they recommend are for a reason just get them done.
Small animal veterinarian checking in from Phillipsburg, New Jersey - heard from various sources about the situation you encountered at your practice - my colleague, you have nothing to be sorry for, but should rather congratulate yourself on a charitably brilliant attempt to help a hapless puppy suffering under the willful ignorance of a LOSER OWNER!!! Out with the niceties, let’s call it as it is - any decent human being who undertakes pet ownership and has access to a FREE library card can afford to arm themselves with the information on preventing parvovirus illness - I’d wager the average homeless person can afford a $10 DHPP vaccine from their local tractor supply to help prevent their beloved pet from succumbing to its onset and effects...but the dregs of society (whether rich or poor) would rather make it someone else’s responsibility for...everything, from education to prevention to treatment and beyond - don’t suffer every incidence of the mercurially inept seeking to cast blame on someone other then themselves, as that would lead to long-standing suffering, and not a single one of us well meaning veterinarians deserve it - your mental health and contribution to family, practice, community rise above!!
My Mom Died and Left Us with a Very Ill dachshund, unable to get hold of our regular Vet Dr Stafford and Staff Made themselves Available and Diagnosed Faith with Very Severe Bladder Stones, Not Only did they have to deal with Faith being Ill, they had to deal with very upset daughter, I was a Total l wreck over trying to care for my Moms Very sick dog and plan her funeral and calling hrs, I lost pills and they were quick to give me more, They did a Great Surgery and gave such quality Care, I cant find fault with 1 thing wrong, This was one of the most caring amazing vets and staff I have met, thank you for being there, fro me and Faith, Sincerely Carolyn Hiles, I only wish you had emergency hours available

2021-09-07My little gentleman had never been to the vet before so he went in for a wellness check and to have an abscess checked. From making the appointment to the time we left, everyone I spoke to or interacted with was kind and helpful. I felt everything was reasonably priced and that everything I would be charged for was explained well. My boy isn’t a huge fan of being away from mama, but he was such a good boy for Dr. Houser, which assures me he felt safe while I waited for him out in the car. COVID curbside appointments aren’t ideal, but this fur mama felt her boy was in good hands every minute he was away. I definitely recommend Newark Veterinary Hospital!

2022-06-20The staff are all wonderful. They truly care about you and your pet and will do their best to help you. My Sasha just had a Full Mouth Extraction done and Dr. Houser did an amazing job as well as Mindy the tech. They called and let me know when i could pick her up. I went to get her and Mindy came out and explained everything to me. Then the next day Sarah called to check on Sasha to see how she was doing. That shows they truly care. A lot of vets dont call to see how they are but these guys do. I give them a 5 star rating. They will be seeing more of my cats in the near future. Thank you Newark Veterinary Hospital for the love and care you have shown my babies. We appreciate you all.

2022-07-22If I could give 0 stars I would. I never write reviews, but given the awful experiences I have had with staff I feel the need to share. To start my dog is prone to ear infections and has received ear drops in the past without a problem, when I called in thinking there would again be no problem receiving a prescription given his past issues, I was told he would have to be seen, but couldn’t get him in for 3 weeks, for ear drops…? I made the appt regardless and I will admit I was running 10 minutes behind. I called the office to let them know and once I arrived notified them I was there (this was during COVID), it took 20 min for a staff member to come out to my car just to push me away saying my appointment was no longer valid because I was 30 min late (I was 10 min late, the other 20 was waiting time!) My 3rd experience is what urged me to write this review, my poor dog had an altercation with another dog and damaged his lower eyelid. We made sure to keep it clean over night and called first thing in the morning praying we could get a prescription for an antibiotic so his eye did not get infected or worse become septic. I was told there was no way I would be getting in today, but could send pictures of the injury to show the Dr. I received an email response back stating he would most likely need surgery, but in the meantime the Dr will not prescribe antibiotics because it’s been a yr and a half since he was last seen. I’m not sure how the timing of his last appt has anything to do with receiving an antibiotic? This kind of treatment just appalls me, especially being a nurse and witnessing it first hand. I’m still in shock by the way my dog and I were treated. I called PetPlex in Buckeye Lake and although appointments are required they got us in the same day given the severity of my dogs condition. I’m happy to have found a new veterinary office who cares for animals the way they should.

2022-02-26Dr. Houser is literally the best. I had a cat that was being treated elsewhere that was sick for years and she quickly identified what was wrong and that it wasnt the correct treatment. Hes now doing great. Shes gentle and kind with my poor sweet girl that has terrible anxiety too. Ive had a lot of animal issues and everyone there has done a great job checking in and accommodating me.

2019-12-26My husband and I had a 12 year old German shepherd, on Christmas day his back legs gave out, and our regular veterinarian office wasnt open the rest of the week, we had to get him put down. We called Newark Vet. Hospital and told them our situation, and they welcomed us into their office, and were so caring, and empathetic. This was one of the hardest thing my husband and I have had to do. And the staff was awesome, I cannot thank you enough for the gentle way you treated our best friend.

2019-05-15When you have fur babies that are literally your family and you would do anything for them you would turn the world over to find them the best doctors for them when they are need wouldnt you?My baby Kreiger came to me one day when he was a kitten dragging his back leg, the best we can figure out is that his flying down the stairs like a superman went horrible for him. The first vet I went to in Hilliard ( I lived in hilliard at the time) told me I could put him down. I really dont think that Vet could scrub himself off enough after work to get rid of the nasty, dirty feeling he got with the look I gave him. His excuse? Well I have put animals down for less. Needless to say I NEVER went back to them. I called easily over thirty different vet offices and even OSU for help with my baby, I didnt want him to lose his leg over the break, but with people not caring or the surgery it needed or stating OVER TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS for the surgery I pretty much gave up. I was starting to call my cat stumps at that point. However my last resort was a vet in Newark who took one look and shook their head and advised they could do nothing. However they did give me the only lead I had which was this wonderful place. From the first time you set foot in there to when you leave you are their family and they will do whatever it takes to help you and your fur babies. They did the surgery for $700 dollars and it was considered experimental because they straight up told me they had no idea how it would end.The picture attached? That is my baby Kreiger three years later, happy healthy and nor a Mr. Stumpy. I have never went anywhere else with him and my three other kitties. I will never go anywhere else with my babies.
