Right before my appointment the rep called me and said he didnt realize he was so far away from me till just now. Asked if he could come later that same day. I said ok He said he would call later when he was on his way. No call. Next day, no call. End of third day, no call. So I called the company and the person at the office seemed confused as to what to do do when I told her the rep never called never showed, never called, etc. I asked if I could get a new appointment? She got me one. Since she was neither surprised, nor apologetic. I asked, are they sorry for the inconvenience? She proceeded to tell me about how she had no way of knowing I had even been skipped. (???) I cancelled.
Had used this co. successfully for years, but under new ownership customer service is nonexistent. Do not recommend. Called, scheduled a firm appointment, day and time came and went; no show, no call. Left at least two phone messages in following days asking what happened and asking for a call back. Crickets. Nothing. Will never use or recommend again. Sad. Old company was always reliable.
My chimney was in pretty bad shape, so I began the process of contacting a few chimney sweep companies for advice and pricing. New Buck was one of those companies. I found them on the web. Had never heard of them before. I was told by New Buck and the other companies that the condition of my chimney was too bad to be repaired and a complete tear down and rebuild was the only option. New Buck gave the best quote for the job..and so it began.Im sure all the crew members at New Buck are great, but, I think I hit the jackpot with the crew that worked on my chimney. Very knowledgeable, personable, and meticulous! I would highly recommend this company to anyone in need of chimney repair, replacement or any other chimney needs. Thanks New Buck!
We hired New Buck to clean our chimney for our woodburning stove. They discovered damage from a past fire, recommended we turn it into our insurance company (I never would have thought to do this), and fixed it. They were so friendly and educational; we were very happy with their service. They even left us a can of spray paint for our stove to spruce it up. nice touch guys! we will definitely use them again in the future.
Don’t waste your time!I should have known to stay way when it was hard to get ahold of them just to schedule, but my parents have been using them for years, so I proceeded anyway. Mistake! They said they could get me in about a month from when I called and there would be an upcharge for the distance. I agreed and set the appoint for the 4-hour afternoon window. I then called the week of the appointment just to confirm the appointment. I took the day off work and the appointment came and went no one ever called or showed up. My wife and I tried calling repeatedly and with no answer. After a couple of days, I finally received a call and voicemail stating sorry we missed your appointment call if you want to reschedule. No thanks! I’ll find someone else!
I had a stove installed in 2010. Since then I have not had propane put into my tank. The stove has heated my home through some tough winters. The installers from New Buck did an outstanding job and there was no mess. Each year I have had the chimney swept at least once and every time the job was done with no mess or dust left behind. I would recommend Buck Stoves to anyone who wants a quality stove for a great price and I would not call anyone else to come into my home to clean the stove/ chimney.
We waited for a month to get a dampner put on. Ok not so bad. The day they were supposed to come out the technician called and left a voice mail and said he had some questions before coming out. Im ok with that. Gave the message to my spouse and said to call him. He did called him twice, left a message, and no one called him back. They didnt even come out. I left a voice mail that night. I had to leave it in 2 sections because it cut me off. I decided to call the next day as well. No answer. I finally called today to get an answer from a person saying that they didnt install dampness on wood furnaces. Why couldnt I have been told that a month ago before I scheduled? The guy also admitted that their call volume was too high and they couldnt handle it. Just a word of warning to those considering.Nicks wife
I called New Buck Chimney in late December 2017, on the recommendation of Specialty Gas Co., to repair my chimney flue. There was no indication that they were closed for the holidays. They finally returned my call on Jan 5, 2018 and we scheduled an appt. for the 17th. That morning they called to tell me that they couldnt make it that day (without any explanation as to why) and that the next available appt. was today, Jan 31st., from noon to 3pm. Today they never showed up. I called them and left a message at 3pm, and they called me back at 3:30pm...to tell me that they just OVERLOOKED me! The office manager apologized and said that she had a funeral to attend as the reason why I was overlooked. That shouldnt have stopped the repair technician from keeping the appointment. This business is both unreliable and unprofessional, and doesnt seem to want new business.
I highly recommend New Buck. I first used them just from looking them up on the web to sweep my yr 2000 fireplace for sale of my home. Then, I bought a 1920 home that had an old narrow fireplace that wasnt really functioning or safe for use. Given the great service I had the first time, I called New Buck to come out and take a look at what could be done. They reviewed all of my options with me and we ended up getting a liner in the chimney and parging up the box and throat. Now I have a real wood burning fireplace. I love it. They were always honest, professional and friendly to work with. They followed up with me to make sure everything was okay.
New Buck cleaned my chimney after I purchased a new (for me) home. Awesome job! Professional, nice, helpful, prompt and left the family room so clean you couldnt tell the chimney had just been cleaned. But I knew it had because the next time I built a fire the icky smell was gone! : )Ive never had a fireplace before, so he even took the time to give me some tips and tricks on how to use it safely and easily. Now I love building fires and feel like I know what Im doing... I will definitely rely on them in the future for keeping my chimney clean and safe!
I waited a couple days to see if they were gonna call me back to write this review, they never did so here it is. I got my inspection on Tuesday. Paid for a camera inspection, which I was told included a sweep if the inspector thought it would need it. The inspector said it needed swept, but he didn’t sweep it. They never called me back to tell me what the reasoning for not sweeping it was or if they were coming back. Now I will have to find another company to fix the chimney and probably pay for another inspection. I did not have a good customer experience with follow-up.12/22/17 Some time after this review, I got a follow up call and they ended up sending someone out to sweep.
Im very pleased with the work New Buck performed. My brick chimney needed tuck pointed & the cap needed repaired. They also filled the gap where the chimney had separated from the house & applied sealer to the chimney. Arrived on time, personable & didnt leave any mess. Great job!
Being a Realtor and having deadlines with remedy issues (like the chimney) can be very stressful on all parties involved. However I couldnt have been more pleased with the wonderful service and quick responses I received at New Buck Chimney Sweeps!!! Anytime I had a question or needed documentation for the lending company they were there to get the job done. Almost $400 to look up my chimney. They were in my home for 20 minutes, did no repair, and charged me $374.50! Way to go guys. My wife feels terrible being taken advantage of like this. I wasn’t home. I would have laughed you out of my house! I hope you choke on the money. BUYER BEWARE THESE GUYS ARE SHYSTERS! That’s basically $800 per hour to use a flashlight.
The service provided was exceptional. The gentleman who worked on our chimney called in the morning to let me know when to expect him. He took his shoes off when he came in so as not to get snow on our wood floors. He was very kind and patient with my curious 2-year-old son who wanted to know everything he was doing. We had several bricks that had come off inside our fireplace, and because these specific bricks actually served no purpose whatsoever, the gentleman offered to repair them or just remove them free of charge (since they were not necessary). He also made sure to remind me to only have small fires because my fireplace is not very deep and to always use a fireplace screen. I appreciated his helpfulness and how incredibly polite he was. We will be using New Buck for all of our future fireplace & chimney needs!
Terrible results and support as this company was purchased without reasonable due diligence of prior customers. Issue with carbon monoxide on prior work and new company reps are insensitive to issues. Don’t recommend as the lack followup to phone commitments of getting back on issue. 6/3 was request and 6/11 no info or details.
For being the first time I had used this Columbus base business I was pleasantly surprised on how prompt and efficient they were in scheduling and showing up when they said they would! They did a great job and I have already referred them to two of my neighbors! God Bless New Buck Chimney Sweep!
Oh my word....I had an appointment with them today, not only did they NOT SHOW UP...there was no call as to advise as to why....lets see what the excuse will be....oh...we had someone pass...or tech had a long issue at previous customer house...too late to drive to your location...or...we didnt have the techs info....!!!! If you couldnt make it, ppl understand considering....when you do not have the courtesy to return a phone call or text....well you do not deserve my business....oh lets not forget, you came recommended......WHY?.... a 5% off services or $10 off does not justify your unprofessional ability to reach out......HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE...I dont need excuses....I need results....oh lets not forget I took half a day off WITHOUT pay to sit here and wait for a no-show...
This was the worst company I have ever got the chance to work with they told me the first day that they would be down there gave a three hour window never called to let me know that they weren’t coming then the second day gave me another three hour window and didn’t show up till an hour and a half after the window I had to call them to see where they were nubuck chimney sweep famous last words let me track the technician down heard that had to be 10 times in two days and no call back if u r looking to get ur chimney swept keep looking

2022-04-01I have been trying to get in contact with this company online to schedule a chimney cleaning and inspection since January and no response. My in-laws have used New Buck in the past and gave raving reviews so we were so looking forward to using New Buck. Not sure why I can’t even get a response after I have submitted two requests online. Such a shame!

2020-09-02(Update #2) Response to owner - I was never contacted by anyone from New Buck, so I am confused to how I refused the use of a lift when that was never offered to me as an option? I was very accommodating with trying to give your company multiple chances with no reciprocation back from your end! (Update 1) to review! Ed one of the owners personally came out to look at my fireplace chase cover and said wow that thing is up there. He also commented that one of the other owners saw my review and said he needs to take that thing down! Ed assured me he would follow up. Two weeks later no response even after leaving him a voicemail asking status! My original review that follows has been completely confirmed! DO NOT USE NEWBUCK! (Original Posting) I think this has to be one of the most dysfunctional companies that I have ever dealt with in my life! I had them scheduled to repair my chase cover that they originally installed. I was supposed to get a call before the tech was to arrive, but instead I received form them saying he did not have a ladder tall enough to reach the chase cover. Day 1 of wasting MY time! I never received a follow up call to reschedule. I figured I would give them a second chance so I called to reschedule. There was some weather in the area on the day of my appointment. I never received a call indicating no one was going to show up. Day 2 of wasting MY time! 2 business days later still no call! After talking with others who have used them in the past I found they seem to be having the same issue with this company after they were bought out a couple of years ago. They along with myself are moving on from this company that DOES NOT CARE about there customers!

2021-11-24If I could give zero stars I definitely would!! We scheduled a chimney cleaning and inspection for November 24th 2021. I took the day off of work to be home for the appointment which was between 9 and noon. At one oclock we had yet to see or hear from Newbuck chimney. We called them and left numerous messages and never heard back from them at all!!!!! terrible customer service.

2020-10-21My family has used New Buck several times in the past and always recieved impeccable service. We did not know it was under new ownership and that explains a lot. We scheduled on line, a month in advance and never recieved a confirmation. I called to verify our date and time was recieved and was told that it was and given a 4 hour window. Like so many others here, our time came and went and I never recieved a return call from the company on our date of service. Like so many others here, I had to take time off work for this appointment as I am a classroom facilitator. If the business is having staffing/COVID issues would have been so hard to call in advance and advise loyal customers, or ANY customer for that matter in advance? We will take our business else where.

2021-11-11I was given an estimate from New Buck. The employee showed up 2.5 weeks later. He said he needed to go get masonry dye. He left & I havent heard from them since. I left multiple messages. No return phone calls or text. Very bad business!!!

2020-06-29This is inaccurate because it would not allow NO STARS!!! I do not like it when I am given a 3 hour window and no one shows up. My time is valuable. I do not like it when a company buys out the previous owner and blames them (and Spectrum) for their own poor business practices. The original owners were reliable, reasonable and right on time! The new owners dont seem to exist because they didnt show up, they didnt call, and they made no effort to make amends for their no show. So sad because New Buck used to be awesome. I had heard the new ownership was bad but I like to find out for myself and now I know. I am moving on to a new chimney sweep because the new ownership of New Buck Chimney doesnt have it together at all and thats on them.

2019-12-09Horrible. We got a check from closing on a house for some chimney repairs and put them on the check. It’s now been three months and no work has yet been done. I called off work twice for an appointment with them and no one showed. I’ve called easily over a hundred times with no answer and no returned calls. I made it a point to try and call everyday for the last couple months. Only answered three times with them saying they need to look at their schedule and call me back, never to call back. The only reason I stayed with them is because I had a check with their name on it. Which really drove me to see how unprofessional and unorganized they are. Luckily, the title company I went with is willing to write a new check with someone else. Horrible horrible service.

2020-10-07I made phone call after phone call, 12 total to get someone to even come look at the fireplace, one appointment after another was cancelled. When someone finally did show up they said they would be back to repair the fireplace the following week. I called them the following Thursday, said they be here Friday night or Saturday morning. No one showed. I texted and they said they would the repairs would be done Tuesday. No one showed up. Since then they do not return calls

2016-05-24We initially had New Buck Chimney Sweep come out for an estimate several years ago. We got busy and never got around to scheduling. We decided to bite the bullet and have the work preformed. I contacted another company to come out as a comparison and they were significantly higher than New Buck. I contacted New Buck to have them give us an updated quote since a significant amount of time had passed. They asked if we still had the initial quote and intended to honor the initial number. I indicated that I believed there was additional work that needed to be done. They reviewed the pictures taken by the other company and gave me an updated price within hours. New Buck performed the work several days later. Everyone was really personable and easy to deal with. In the event we need future service, New Buck will be who we contact.

2019-11-04Keith came today to clean our chimney. Great fellow and very conscientious. Did a great job, took his time, and gave me his personal card. This is the 2nd time Keith has been here. I hope to have him back this coming spring. Give this guy a raise! My only reason for NOT giving New Buck a 5 star rating is not being able to reach them by phone. I called 4 times this morning at 8am, 9am, 10am, and 11am to confirm I was on the schedule. Keith called about 11:30am, but that was his good follow-up to let me know he was on the way. He is a very good representative for New Buck!
