Nationwide Insurance in other cities:
Hi I want to pay special thanks to representative Ashley Smith I called Ashley today to cancel my Nationwide Insurance after many years due to the rates she was so kind thoughtful and informative I had a hard time going through with the cancellation but when your auto insurance for family of 4 is $7,000 a year and you find a rate at 4500 for the same coverage no matter how good the services are your forced to separate. If I could just keep Ashley I would.Ashley Smith You Rock !Good Health to You and Yours,Aaron
Trash company that canceled my policy with zero communication. When I called to find out why it was because some person that I dont even know was registered at the house. Get your facts straight!!! I suggest anyone who has issues file a Better business bureau complaint against this garbage company
I have had Nationwide auto insurance for over 10 years. Yes, they do cost a little more than other companies however they are worth it. The roadside assistance other companies offer does not even come close to Nationwide’s. The customer service reps and adjusters have always been helpful and pleasant to deal with. I don’t know if all customers got one, however I just got a free Amazon Echo Auto from them last week. If you have Nationwide and get a black envelope from Nationwide in the mail, don’t toss it!
I would NEVER! Go with this company for a car loan. This company is so crooked! I’m not one at all to “post my problems”, but this I feel all people need to know! And I’m prepared and sooo ready to scream it from a rooftop... SUE. There is way too much to share on a post, but if you want to be continuously lied to, screamed at by ignorant ( uneducated ) “managers”, call recordings magically erased, them dipping their hands in your bank account whenever they want and for any amount ( $2,000 over two months ), papers they say they never get!!!, then go with this company. With this company I’ve learned that you need to record your own calls, and take pictures of EVERYTHING you send. Document everything you do with them;) Like I said, that’s just the tip of the iceberg.Last but not least, don’t comment that nationwide’s advocate wants to speak with me to get this resolved, because that got us absolutely nowhere.
It is the headquarter of Nationwide Insurance but is also one of the unique architectures that build on top of hidden train tracks, most of the time the tracks are not noticeable unless a train passes by. The building can be identified easily because it is the only building in the community facing an acute angle to the road. It also has a legacy glass elevator running along an exterior track of the building offering good view to the city (now only services on special request).
I would give them 0 stars if I could! Do not use them! This insurance company took it upon themselves to research my son. Add him to my policy and tell me I have to prove he has his own insurance to remove him when I didn’t add him! I have NEVER had an insurance company change MY policy and tell me I have to prove something THEY changed in the first place!
They felt the need to bump up my homeowners deductible when I left them for my car insurance because I was not happy with their customer service. Since I was not bundling they bumped it up without even telling me. Great way to try and keep a customer or possibly get them to comeback by telling them that your deductible increased when filing a claim. Very Very shady!! Be Careful!
Called them for a quote because I was buying a new car and did not want to go with my current insurance company; that policy was set to expire in days and the coverage was only plpd anyway. The initial salesman was very courteous and efficient. I could not activate my policy, however, because I did not have my finance company info for the new car yet. I told him I would be calling back from the dealership and asked if there was anything else he needed besides the payment and finance companys info. No, no, just a couple of brief questions and the payment and wed be all set. Well, well, well...called back and he was busy so I got stuck with someone else. I told her what he said we had left to do and that I needed to hurry. And yet, she insisted upon going through every.single.detail all over again, line by line, with all these extra questions, which extended what was to be a ten minute call into 25 minutes, only for her to tell me at the bitter end that she could not activate my policy because I did not have my old policy info with me!! (It was in my old car, 30+ minutes away) I told her he had never mentioned that but all I got was the too bad so sad routine after nearly half an hour of wasted time!! Never again, I dont care how good the quote is. Went with Liberty Mutual--15 minutes and done.
Wanted a copy of their auto policy BEFORE i got signed up, so I could read the fine print. The 800 Agent couldnt help and was going to transfer me to Customer Service. Before she pressed the disconnect button i over heard her criticizing me as a strange call. Still no customer service or copy of an auto policy. No Thanks, Ill stay with my carrier
Terrible claims handling. Each and every time I or anyone else talks to someone they act like its the first they have ever heard of it. One of their insureds rear ended me, totaling my car six weeks ago. They accepted liability within 24 hours. Since then they have not paid me for my car. They have not paid the garage my car was towed to. They do not answer or return calls, emails, faxes. They lie and tell you they have sent a check and it never arrives. When you call to find out where the check is they act as if you have never talked before. And I am talking about people you have talked to in great depth! I have has to see four different doctors and go through almost daily treatment with no car because they have not paid for mine or given me a rental car. Unbelievably terrible insurance company. They might sell you something 24/7 but they work bankers hours when its time to pay!
I’ve been a customer of nationwide for about 27 years, after paying well up to $20,000 for insurance over those 27 years. I filed a claim in January for water leaking into my basement through a downspout, which created mold on the things I had in my basement . Nationwide said it wasn’t covered and did not pay out on the claim. Eight months later nationwide decided to drop my policy unless I fix the mold problem which there really wasn’t one after I removed the moldy items out of my basement, they also claimed that I had foundation cracks which the inspector never put in his report, therefore I was basically forced to switch insurance companies . I thought it very rude of them to do this in a time of Covid were many people are on unemployment and struggling, I think I deserve reimbursement of some of my premiums, the agent I dealt with was kind of a smart mouth
You wrote a review for Nationwide Insurance Company11 minutes ago1.0 star rating7/28/2018I can see from reading all of the other reviews that Nationwide has a very poor reputation and bad customer service. I conquer! DO NOT USE NATIONWIDE! I received notice that they would be taking over my policy from my current insurance company because my current insurance company was getting out of RV insurance. My current policy was due to expire at the end of July 2018. (Two months away at the time of the first notice) Nationwide stated that I would be receiving a policy and a billing in the mail within days of their original notice. After a few weeks without receiving the policy and billing I called to follow-up. The customer service representative said that she could not find any record of me having any insurance with them even with the policy number listed in my notification letter. She said that she would have someone call me back. NOPE! After a few more days I called again. I was told that I would need to be transferred over to their new policy dept. After being on the phone for 20 minutes answering questions about my RV and other personal information, I was informed that they do not insure RVs over 36 feet long. Mine is 41 feet long. The rep. said that he would call me back. The next day I received the call informing me that my motorhome was only 36 feet long because they do not count the front and back bumpers, only the actual living portion. Apparently I have 5 feet of motorhome that I dont use. Anyway, I was quoted a premium price over $200 dollars more than I am currently paying. I informed them that I would call them back. After calling a company that frequently advertises, I was given a quote within minutes that was $60 less than I was currently paying for the same coverage. I called the rep. at Nationwide back and cancelled the quote and my remaining (non-existent) policy. A week later I received a new policy booklet from Nationwide and a billing the following day.???? Again I called Nationwide. The automated system informed me that my policy was cancelled and that I could press #1 to receive a text message to explain the reason for the cancellation with no option to speak to a rep. in person. I played their game and pushed a few buttons to get a rep. on the phone who confirmed that the notes in their system verified that I cancelled my policy and that he did not know why I was sent a policy and billing. (I was repeatedly informed that their calls are recorded for quality assurance and training purposes? I dont think it is working. LOL)
Wish I could post no stars. After 40 years as a customer, without them ever paying out a dime, I need a claim for a commercial truck hitting my car while parked on the street ( there was a police report), and there is no response. Claims 24/7 but when I called sat. am I was told, we dont do anything on the weekend. The claims adjuster does not come to work until noon on Monday and I have left her messages and the nationwide numbers I called tried to reach her too, but in the end I am being told, someone will contact you but we cant say when. Great service. Contacting other insurance companies now to switch. Stay away from Nationwide.
Nationwide Insurance is dishonest!!!! They gave me a quote initially about a year and a half ago to get me to come over to them.. I believed them and did so... and over the term of the year and a half they kept increasing my rate on multiple occassions. When I called to inquire why yet another increase they said there have been more accidents in my area. This is actually not true. In any event, I contacted another insurance carrier and switched over at about $100/month less than what Nationwide insurance was charging me, prior to the additional increase. Then when I immediately cancelled, they sent me yet more billing for a cancellation fee of approx $34. For what?! pressing a button? So I contacted someone there, escallated it and discussed it, they told me they would be able to waive the fee. I just received a letter from a collection agency for the $33.28. I called nationwide and they told me that they dont have any such record of a call for the waiver. How convenient. DO NOT use Nationwide Insurance. Nationwide Insurance is dishonest!!!! Nationwide insurance is NOT on your side!
Started an auto, motorcycle and home policy and never received auto policy documents or insurance card. Auto policy never showed up online and had to pay bill via phone after never receiving bill. Then call today to find auto policy was cancelled without notice and refusal to reinstate policy. What kind of business is this??? Poor communications and bad attitude from employees towards situation, everyone clearly has better things to do and no help has been offered and was told it would take several days to reach a manager or person of higher authority. Typical insurance company....
IM currently going through a claim were my truck was damaged in a tornado this happened on 9/3/16 today is 9/20/16 and still can not get any answers to top it all off we are on are second adjuster and his name is Ken Parrish out of Virginia likes to yell and get irrate when asked questions after this claim and the disrespect from this adjuster I will go to another insurance company never been treated so bad in my life
Terrible management and staff in Eastern North Carolina....Mark Burgess will refuse to give you the benefits that you have paid for...and will basically hold you hostage on your coverage...etc.. Even allows his staff to disrespect and hang up on you....Nationwide...they are NOT on YOUR side!!
Around March 2016 I contacted Nationwide Insurance through a 800 number to get a quote for homeowners insurance for a home that I was purchasing. I closed on my home in April 2016 and chose another insurance company. Around May 2016 I received a policy cancellation notice from Nationwide for homeowners insurance. I called and advised I did not agree to use them for my homeowners insurance nor did I sign any documentation so there should not have been a policy to cancel. The customer service representative agreed and I left it at that. July 2016 a collection account appeared on my Equifax credit report from CCS Collections for Nationwide Insurance in the amount of $185. At that time I filed a dispute and the account came back validated! So either Equifax did not research or CCS Collections/ Nationwide confirmed the fraudulent account. I have never done business with Nationwide Insurance. I do not have an unpaid bill with them. There is no reason I should have a collection reporting to my credit report from them. I want this account removed from my credit report.I have gone through all the proper channels to try to resolve this. I am at my wits end. You have an employee writing fraudulent policies and ruining peoples credit. Instead of looking into my claim you continue to allow your collection company to ruin my credit.
How dare you guys not pay for my vehicle rental after admitting fault on a claim that your driver made. I have been trying to contact my adjuster and no calls have been returned. I have even went by the body repair shop and hes waiting for a supplement fee to be returned to him so he can finish my vehicle. I have never been treated in this matter. On top of that I have received late notice that enterprise was not being paid by my adjuster through nationwide. What kind of company is this???!!!!. Now the vehicle has been reported stolen by enterprise. I need someone to speak with me today from corporate.
I had a minor accident on 08.04.17 and to date very little communication. Took them six weeks to get the police report. Said it would have gone faster if I had done it myself. What I am paying all this money for if I have to do the leg work? Still have not heard where the situation lies and it has been almost two months. Bad service. Bad communication. 02.13.. It took until February for arbitration process to be completed. Nationwide had me talk with other insurance company instead of doing it. Arbitration ended abd not in my favor. The letter said Nationwide failed to prove other client made a left turn in to me. Nationwide did no investigating, could have gotten video from parking lot I exited from but didnt bother. Could have gotten video from library across the street. Again, didnt bother. The outcome was not surprising. I no longer have Nationwide. They definitely were not on my side.
Refuses to replace a bumper with the one recommended by my repair shop. Nationwide insists on using damaged parts, even though my car has less than 2,000 miles on it.Wont call and speak with repair shop about this.Keep in mind, that this is a not-at-fault accident and the difference in price is only $81--thats correct, they wont spend $81 to make thing right.
You have the gall to charge a $1.00 per month to process my payment electronically. You give me an out of paying the fee if I pay the amount due for the whole year. Great, you can invest the funds and make even more money. Companies like you do not like more regulation, but I guess that is what I will have to work on getting done to curb your avarice greed.
I have only been with nationwide since the end of October. I called to pay my bill with the operator system and got a confirmation email and text message. All of a sudden, a week later I get a email saying my payment was declined and my policy was canceled. I called and asked why. They said I entered my routing number wrong. So I ask why wasnt I notified until after yall dropped me ? They said there was nothing they could do but they could start a new policy for me and my insurance is going to go up because now it looks like I skip out on payments
Thanks but NO thanks!!I had thought about getting a quote from this young lady April Rowe until my daughter told me not to! She told me that April is a Felon and is struggling with a heroin addiction. Also that she puts pictures of client information on her Facebook? I asked her to show me just now and as sure as Jesus came to save the world there where videos of her computer screen with client information pulled up dancing back and forth. This is alarming to say the very least. shame on her! This has got to be a violation of company procedure along with a host of other red flags. Im telling my friends to steer clear of here because it seems like a repeat of when Jerry Poff was selling in Piqua, scamming people out of money and such! Nationwide has been in my family for generations this is a complete and utter disappointment!
Nationwide sold my info to a robo-caller and their website login system is terrible.I keep getting harassed by a life insurance company. Ive asked to be take off the list several times. I dont mind calls from telemarketers if they are courteous. This one is not. Im on the US do not call list but my business with Nationwide allows them to call me.Nationwide cant get its website act together and needs me to fill out some account information so they can transfer my account from a subsidiary system.Ideally, this would be automatic. Mundanely, it needs some help from me. Infuriatingly, I filled out the 6 page form for them and got a system down, come back later error.
Be aware of nationwide. They are a fraud for me.I have a claim where nationwide is secondary. They told me over the phone they will pay $40,000 after I sign release for primary carrier which I did and where primary paid what they owed. I have that conversation legally recorded but Nationwide decided to give me headache and is refusing to pay now. Phone recording means nothing for themI am forced to sue them soon but decided I will share my story with random Nationwide locationsNationwide is dishonest and will lie to your faceIm shocked that Nationwide having an option from google to reply to all dissatisfied customers decided to ignore all of them. They would rather play all that dummy commercials fool people.
Nationwide has handled three auto claims for me (two with secondary driver at fault in my vehicle, one with other driver at fault). In every case, Nationwide has been prompt, helpful, concerned for our safety, and accommodating. They provided rental vehicle during repair periods. Replacement of a totaled vehicle was without any issues (in the claim where other driver responsible). In that same claim where other driver was at fault, they defended me in a law suit brought by a passenger in that incident because her insurance company told her to file the suit. Nationwide defended me and assured me they were very TRULY on my side.
I recently discovered Nationwide was overcharging me over 40% above the governed auto insurance rates for nearly 9 years. I have a spotless driving record, never late on payments and an outstanding credit rating. I recently had 3 independent insurance companies quote me rates for the same exact insurance policy and all the rates were over 40% lower than Nationwide. When I contacted Nationwides corporate office in Columbus, Ohio about this issue, their representative gave me a lame excuse stating it was because of an address change. I was told by the other 3 independent insurance companies that an address change makes no difference and did not justify rates over 40% above the governed rates for the same policy coverage and location. Nationwide is running a scam with their auto policy holders by fraudulently overcharging them. Unknowing Nationwide policy holders should be made aware of their insurance racket. I highly advise all Nationwide policy holders to seek automobile insurance quotes from other independent insurance companies and immediately switch, like I did.
John Falk has been extremely disappointing and unprofessional to work with. It begin when he called me unannounced and began firing off dozens of questions, without me acknowledging that it was a convenient time. He has taken months to make contacts, ignoring e-mails, and seems to be taking the side of his Nationwide customer, rather than seeking a resolution.
My nephew was killed in a vehicle that was insured by nationwide. The claim was held up, because they didnt know how their own insurance policy was written. Finally ERIE insurance stepped in and said that they would pay the whole thing. Then fight with nationwide to get their money back. It was a sad time for everyone. My 19 year old nephew was dead and nationwide admitted that they didnt know how their own policy read or how to interpret it themselves. This was there own legal dept. that was saying this.
The tall Nationwide Insurance building in downtown Columbus [One Nationwide Plaza] is an important part of the skyline of Columbus. The Nationwide Insurance headquarters in Columbus is actually a cluster of buildings [known collectively as Nationwide Plaza] plus buildings in other areas of Columbus; the One Nationwide Plaza building is certainly the best known.Often, at night, colorful lights shining from below will temporarily change the color of the One Nationwide Plaza building. In the past, though not necessarily at present, all of the windows of the One Nationwide Plaza building would be open or closed at night in order to create verbal messages, for example, HAPPY HOLIDAYS, visible from below. Also in the past, a glass-enclosed elevator would travel up and down the northeast wall of the One Nationwide Plaza building. That elevator is still there [slightly more than halfway up from the ground] but that elevator has not been in use for many years.

2022-08-15In my experience, I found mystery limits on my pets policy. When asked to send copies of those limits, the company was unable to do so. Medical procedures that should have been covered with higher dollar amounts were reduced to ridiculous lows with explanations that lacked medical experience and were off-base as a result.Heres a great example of the companys dishonest behavior:A cancerous growth was found in my dog. After it was removed and he received chemotherapy, the doctor prescribed antibiotics. This is normal since anyone (or any animal) receiving chemo is in jeopardy of getting infections because the treatment kills a lot of good cells. Nationwide denied the claim stating they dont pay for supplements. Insert your favorite eye roll emoji here.Sneaky, deceptive, and manipulative are some of the adjectives that spring to mind.Ignore the disingenuous response below. I contacted customer support on multiple occasions. Theyre absolutely no help. Eventually, I had to file **multiple** formal complaints against the company with my states insurance commission.Avoid securing a pet policy with Nationwide.

2022-08-06I called to get an auto quote. The rep asked me the usual questions and provided the quote but got agitated when I asked for it to be emailed then hung up on me. I was prepared to accept the offer but instead Ill try elsewhere.

2022-01-12The corporate office “specialist” complicate the process of being paid out on claims. They will accuse you of that turning in the proper papers. Just when you think the issues should be resolved you call to find out there are additional issues they did not make you aware of. Out of four beneficiary claims-one was correct, one was paid out thousands less, and mine is weeks into the process, TBD for the fourth. I am a nurse who deals with death on a frequent basis, thanks to Covid, and these “specialist” need a course in compassion. I DO NOT recommend this company. Do not deal with Cherry/Sherry.

2021-12-08Waited on hold for more than an hour to talk to a claims representative. any company that shows this lack of responsiveness deservers no less than a 1 star review. Especially if you are a paying customer.Editing as it has been about a month. I had to call in again and am currently waiting over 2 hours and they still havent answered.Update: After 3 hours and 11 minutes the line went dead. No response from Nationwide. Also sent emails to the claims adjuster, no response during that time.

2021-03-03This insurance company has been professional and helpful in all their dealings with me. Insurance is not a very fun subject to begin with. I know a lot of us have disagreements with even being required to have insurance. Nationwide has made insurance good again, as far as I can say. I am impressed how I feel like they actually care about my well-being, at the end of any interaction with them. Thanks!

2021-07-27Do not use Nationwide for any type of retirement planning or account. They are very slow in letting you access your OWN money. They have picky rules to protect every penny for them! - not the consumer. We are very dissatisfied. They are NOT on your side.
