I found this storage facility a few years ago while I was building my house and was surprised by how nice it is compared to the other places I looked at. The facility is always clean, well temperature controlled (so I know my stuff wont get ruined), and there are plenty of carts available. Probably best of all, the front office people are always upbeat and helpful! I was very pleased and thought it was a great value for the money to the point where I came back again a few years later.
The price keeps going up and up. But they cant seem to fix the leak that lets gallons of filthy water come right into my unit every time it rains.Ive thrown away a lot of my personal belongings due to being flooded. Now I have a huge tote and a crazy setup to direct the water into the tote and have to wheel it out after every rain.How many years does it take to fix a leak???I get a unit close to a large door on purpose. Now we have to walk completely around the building to one location to get in after 5:30pm. There are cameras all over the place. Why do we need to go to the other side of the rather huge building to get in at all? But after 5:30pm??? WHY?
Helped set me up fast and convenient with a storage unit. Units are easily accessible and in good shape. The sales associate Bruni was very personable and helped out with all concerns in a fast and friendly way.
I was well taken care of at this location in Lakewood. I just wanted to know some rates on some storage units and I had some great help from a young woman name Eromomhen she was very patient with me and my questions , she had a great personality which made my time there enjoyable. I also received great customer service from a young man named Willie. Great staff overall ! The facility was very clean which also helped in my decision.
I completed an online reservation for a unit at this facility based on the reviews I’d read. I went to the office to provide my DL as instructed. The young man that was working was rude and seemed bothered by my presence. Thankfully I wasn’t there long. Later that evening I went back to locate my new storage unit. The entire facility was utterly disgusting. I found my unit only to find it was actually 2 units side by side! Both units were still locked by the facility so I couldn’t access the space I’d paid for. I went back a couple days later and the locks were removed from both units but much like this entire facility the space was dirty, smelled off, and was certainly not a place I wanted to store my belongings. To top it off, as I headed out, I passed a unit a couple spaces down that was left opened- and there were literally dead mice all around! I can’t believe the number of people who mentioned the cleanliness of this facility! Needless to say, I found another company to rent from and haven’t spoken to anyone from this company even though I’d intended to request a refund. I honestly didn’t want to step back in this place let alone deal with the rude employee. And ladies, if you are considering this storage company, just PLEASE keep in mind that this place is very dangerous after dark- it’s pitch black back there and anyone could easily creep up on you. There were NO working outside lights and even once I made it inside, not all of the sensored lights seemed to work. I’d NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE!!
We had an incredible experience with National Storage Centers-Lakewood. Mary Greathouse was the manager that we worked with and it was the best customer service I have ever received. Proficient, knowledgeable, easy to work with and up to date on all of the rates were just a few of her qualities. She also followed up immediately when I had any questions. The location was also very clean and I felt very safe with the current pandemic.Was a great experience!Thank you, Mary!

Really nice outdoor storage for vehicles, and the online reservation process was easy. We went to view the space and the gentleman at the counter was very polite and helpful.
I stored some furniture here for about a year. When I moved I emptied the unit but I was going to wait to cancel my rental until I was sure I no longer needed the storage space.Within a day they called me to check in because they (Willie) noticed the lock was off my unit. I really appreciate their concern and it makes me feel good to know my property was kept safe under their watchful eye. I would definitely recommend this storage center to all my family and friends.
I had an absolutely great experience! The best customer service Ive had this holiday season! Eboh was very helpful and laid out all the necessary information about the facility and storage units. Customer comfort was the name of the game. Theres no doubt I will be back for moving supplies in the spring. Will tell all my friends to look no further!

The place was fantastic untill we went to end our lease... Then they were all kinds of mean. Told that their walkthrough would take 2 to 4 hours and they wouldnt give us final paperwork until it was over....2 to 4 hours to go look at an empty storage space!? Thats just nuts....

Clean, modern, and convenient are just a few of the perks. Manager Mary is very resourceful, experienced, and trustworthy. Whomever hired her made the right move! Highly recommended facility & staff.
Very easy to get in and out, good security, and a great guy that works the lobby office. Such a nice guy that its almost like hes been a lifelong friend or something. The guy behind the counter helped us get our bill straightened out and helped me get my stuff straightened out for online billing. Hes so great with customers they need to give him a raise!.
The staff was very helpful and polite. You can tell they care about delivering a good customer experience and helping you get set up with exactly what you need. No pushy tactics or upselling. Their rates are also very reasonable.I was mostly helped by Bruni although the other employee was helpful as well. The storage space itself is pretty clean and temperature controlled. Entry and exit is always smooth and they have dolleys lying around to move stuff easily.
I just recently got into storage spaces and I couldn’t be more happy. Everything was so easy. The associates were very nice and my space was really clean. I felt very comfortable leaving my belongings.

The area needs to be plowed. I got stuck in the unplowed storage parking area behind the gate. I luckily had a shovel and I was able to get out of the area. PLOW THE LOT

Please excuse I dont have the correct spelling of the womans name who works on Saturdays only. She is an amazing worker who helped my girlfriend and I on obtaining storage unit. As stressful as we are with this move she thoroughly focused on our needs and wants. Storage was affordable. The facility is very clean and kept up with.

Great experience, could not recommend more! Store Manager Marley provided detailed instructions and map to our storage unit. Courteous and professional, Marley made the entire process easy on us. Storage unit was clean and exactly what we needed. Lots of unit sizes to choose from. Ability to back up a box truck and unload inside, no getting rained or snowed on!

Tomika was terrific in explaining and showing me my choice of units. I was impressed with the facility itself and the sense that they were customer service oriented. The next day Marley did the actual paperwork with me although it was all digital; fast and complete. I was happy to learn that rates stay constant for at least a year. Both staffers were eager to please, polite and professional.

Reviews were great, and I though, why the heck is a storage place getting such great reviews? So, I showed up with a UHaul full of stuff, and within an hour I was unpacked in a super clean, reasonably priced unit. Tina was fantastic.

Tina was helpful, patient, and went out of her way to put me in the best storage unit instead of just unlocking the unit I was originally assigned over reservation online.Mike was also helpful whenever I would call with any questions I had.
The lady I met was nice but it seems to be a bait and switch situation. The “value price” for a 5x10 is $61 something but when you get there they tell you that it is actually two 5x5 even though the lease clearly states a 5x10. Someone might not care but I need the entire space so I was furious. Never again
My mom and I went to national storage center to rent a unit and we had a very pleasant experience. Willie was very friendly, helpful and was able to answer all of our questions.
Came to pick up my UHAUL to do a contactless pick up as instructed. It was not ready, hidden in the back of the building. Lady working the customer service desk had another customer, which was fine. However, if you’re expecting people to do contactless pick up, be prepared. This is ridiculous to have customers waiting in their car for you, when they have already paid for a service.

Won an online storage unit auction here. Things were moved in the unit after the photos were taken and posted for auction. Good bet the unit was gone through after the pics were taken. A tote and a bag were in a completely different spot and there was a chest that was open. Wont be coming back here for any auctions.
Tina at the Lakewood location was so very helpful in a stressful time. I was thankful she was so kind and helped us get our storage locker. The place is extremely clean and well taken care of too.

Office staff is useless, building maintenance is terrible. Dont expect a clear passage to and from your vehicle, especially in the winter. And God forbid all doors have access.

Awful experience everytime i try to get to my storage bin. No doors are ever open (its 1pm here btw well within hours) glad that I pay for a storage facility i can never access. The door with the pin pad has been broken for weeks. Dont waste your time with this company

2022-08-13I rented my space one year ago (2021) based on the reviews and location. I moved here From Columbus and had my whole life contents in the unit. Seemed fine until March 2022 when we was ready to move into my new house. I found it totally ransacked and every box had been gone through piece by piece. Large furniture items including a grill, a treadmill and tv wall unit was taken. They took many family heirlooms and my Christmas decorations that my kids and made and I’ve collected for over 30 years. I filed a police report and the Lakewood police came and did an investigation. I only received $2900 from the insurance policy I paid for when I originally rented the unit. ( I had sold my home in Columbus so didn’t have current homeowners policy)By the way, my unit was in the inside of the climate controlled building.The managers and police told me a total of 13 units were broken into at that time.The management said they saw nothing on the cameras for all 13 robberies. Odd isn’t it?The management provided no apologies or comfort during or after this time, and would never put me in contact with anyone up further in the company to discuss.The Lakewood police have all the information to confirm this. However, it is still an ongoing investigation.I’m heartbroken and it’s taken me this long to write the review.Oh yea, and when I moved what was left out of the unit there was rat feces along the sides of the unit and my stuff was filthy from dust. I have pictures.

2022-08-09My time at the location started off great. However, it began to change brand ownership and managers. This did not make me change. However, I began to change a move to a different facility when they kept increasing the price for rent. However, the sweet lady that worked on Saturdays persuaded me to stay and would even give me credits. However, once she left, I decided it was time to finally leave and find a storage facility that was not having price increases every four to six months. The good is that the location has units of all sizes. The bad is that the pricing and brand ownership is not stable.

2022-06-30I reserved a 20ft outside spot for our trailer and received a confirmation #. Arrived two days prior only to find they didnt have any spots available. I was upset since I had just spoke to them four days prior. Worse part is they still have it on their site as available to rent. I called to ask if it was available and was told no , asked why they still keep posting it and was told he had nothing to do with postings. Asked to speak with a manager but he is property manager. Im not sure what their point is in wasting peoples time but it would be great if you didnt advertise and set up rentals for unavailable spots.

2022-05-04I didnt realize the time, it was about 2 minutes to closing time. Willie was putting the closed sign on the door but saw me pulling in, and let me in. He was professional, and upbeat the whole time. He didnt give me any attitude even though he was about to close up shop.

2022-06-13Love this Location!! Spoke to someone named Marrio and he really took the time to find the best unit for me. Moved from down south and thought it was going to be really hard to find an reliable storage area but once i found this place and with Marrio help it was very easy!

2018-11-02Very clean and personable staff. The storage units are a bit like a maze but thats to be expected. I thought I rented a bigger size storage unit but when I saw it I realized it was too small and they were very quick to offer me another unit. I would reccomend storage sense for all of your storage needs. Sorry I wasnt able to get a picture of the actual storage unit my phone died.

2021-12-08Just wanted to give a shout out to National Storage in Lakewood and their wonderful manager, Willy. I rented a 10X30 unit for several months while my home was being renovated.Registration was quick and efficient — with no hidden fees or unreasonable policies. It was as easy to rent as it was to leave, which I really appreciated. Prices were competitive. The facility was clean, safe and secure with a perfect location.If you need some extra space, temporary or otherwise, I cannot recommend this facility and its great people enough!!!Thank you, National Storage of Lakewood!
