It was very good show was entertaining. We had dessert with coffee. The coffee was not very good not fresh. Real problem was added 20 percent tip to bill. I tipped the total bill, so the server got over 40 percent tip. She was a fair server, not worth the tip I gave her. I never even got offered a coffee refill. Prior to music box we had dinner at Shooters next door. They added 15 percent tip but didnt total the bill. Their method of tipping is different and confusing. I prefer the old way where a customer left a tip according to the service. I generally will leave 20 percent, unless if the server is really bad which is very rare. I feel if you cant afford to give a decent tip should stay home. In Germany tipping is not done. The employer pays a good wage unlike the United States.
Absolutely love this venue! Beautiful setting and great music. We decided to come early to eat dinner and enjoy a warm summer evening. What a huge disappointment....I ordered the perch dinner which consisted of 3 tiny overcooked morsels of fish and a serving of fries for $31.00 . My husband ordered the stuffed peppers. Hilarious to see 1 lonely little banana pepper on the dish. We left hungry after spending about $100. My advice? Come see a show but eat before you go!
The food is terrible, and I am not a picky person. Tiny portions of really poor quality dishes that are insanely expensive, served cold. And so disappointing because the menu looks FABULOUS! Youll have better luck at McDonalds or a school cafeteria, and thats not an exaggeration. Zero stars on the food (we ate from the Concert Hall menu). However, the venue itself is great, the service is fantastic and friendly. Go for the entertainment and atmosphere! Just eat somewhere (anywhere!!) else first!
The Music Box is a very nice location and their Sunday Reggae Concert series is a good way to spend the afternoon! Umojah Nation, a leading Reggae Band from Akron, Ohio was the entertainment this time and they were a harmonious joy to share the time with! Beer and drink prices are always high when you go out anymore so we have taken to packing a cooler in our trunk and just head there during breaks. The food here is pricey as well but pretty good. Im more of a cook at home type so unless Im starving I eat when we get home. Twas good to see friends and Family amidst a Fathers Day celebration and a beautiful sun shiny day filled with positive Reggae Music! One Love!
Me and the Wife went to see Carlos Jones over the Allstars weekend. The music and Atmosphere was amazing. But because they were charging double shot price for liquor. But only giving a single shot of liquor. I did not make a fuss about it because. I did not want to ruin a great time. That why I gave the 3 star. Also what happened? The music box use bring diverse genres of music and entertainment. Its very rare and far between. I miss that but theres always New York and New Orleans 😉hint, hint.
Great band to listen to and well done set! The Tom Petty tribute band has a 5 star rating! However, the food was hotel free breakfast level that we were charged $20 a person. Very disappointing for the first time and the level of service was very inconsistent and poor. There were favorite tables that were attended to by the “manager” and they received multiple plates and drinks promptly. We received our drinks that we ordered well after served our one plate as well as the orange juice that should have been there with the meal. We were billed close to $200 for the six of us for the meals not including the band ticket price. Bottom line, band is 5 star and the food service is a zero. I hope they straighten this out promptly as we would like to experience the venue as has been billed in the past!
What a great venue. Right on the river over looking the lake and the east bank of the flats. Great bar service and the food was tasty. Floor to ceiling windows captured the atmosphere of downtown cleveland life! The outside patio overlooked the steel railroad bridge and the beautiful sunset.
Oh my gosh this place was beautiful!! The view was gorgeous and the interior was so elegant, I loved it! Easy access to parking and lots of bars withing walking distance. The drink selection was good and they serve food, although I did not order food. Came here to see a band play and I will definitely be back. I highly recommend. Great for date night, girls night out, drinks, and depending on the activities that day even kids will enjoy this venue.
We had an amazing dinning experience while ad the Music Box Supper Club. The Irish band we saw was amazing and very funny. The chicken dish with mashed potatoes was awesome. Our waitress was great and always on point. The views from the upstairs deck were amazing and a great framing of the downtown for images.
Douche Dinner Matinee.. The owners should be ashamed of themselves! $150 for three drinks and a sacked lunch...The most lackluster, uncomfortable, overpriced, unaccepting place I have EVER been to a show at in CLE. Mike Love is an amazing soul. He deserved better. You guys didnt even take the time to provide water for the performers before hand. Shame on you and your culture vulching wanna be elites!
Wonderful Sunday brunch and afternoon listening to a cover band. Nice venue and views of The Flats area. I would have given it a five star but was disappointed to find that coffee was not included in the brunch price. The only beverage included was water. All other juices and beverages were extra.
Never a disappointment when we visit. Music is great, sound system is outstanding. The food is incredible, get the short rib. It matches anything at even the best resturaunts in town. Most impressive us the staff. They are friendly, attentive, and really hustle. You can tell they love their jobs and are treated well. We especially like Sophie, she just exudes fun and energy. We always expect a fun evening out, and have never been disappointed in either the supper club or the concert hall.
I have seen many shows at the Music Box and enjoyed them all. After attending the Murder Mystery Show I would just say that I won’t say anything about this event. If you have nothing nice to say about something it’s usually best to say nothing. So for the Murder Mystery I’m not going to say anything about the service, the food, or the show.
Attended a work event here last night. Sweeping views of the Cuyahoga River and the East Bank of the Flats visible from inside the venue. Will have to check their performance schedule and visit the place when open to the general public. Very nice addition to the West Bank.
Shannon and the entire staff were amazing leading up to and during our wedding we had at Music Box on 9-1-17. From the decorations we dropped off and they set up the day of, to the attention all of the bridal party and guests received all night. Anything we needed it was there. At the end of the night we were worried about loading all of our decorations we brought into the van; no worries the staff at Music Box loaded them all up for us as we watched. Amazing Night, couldnt say enough about how perfect the day was and didnt hear one person say anything besides how perfect the venue, food and staff were. Thanks for making our day perfect!!
The entertainment was great and the brunch buffet was good. The value is certainly reasonable. A little tight on space, but that is a consistent condition in my experience with supper/brunch entertainment venues. Service was as good as one can get in the current post Covid restaurant environment - took a bit for some bar orders, but eventually the drinks arrived. Would go again with no hesitation.
Long wait on food, then the order was not right. My boyfriend asked for salmon (from the menu) to be added to his vegetable stir fry. I ordered just veggie stir fry. He was brought a few slices of chicken instead, and charged and extra $8 for the chicken. (!!!) The meal was just ok. No great flavor. Rice with alittle veg and far too many mini 🌽 cobs. Meals are on the pricey side. Best thing of dinner was the house Grasshopper drink! Minty with just a little chocolate at the bottom - Delicious. Fortunately the entertainment was excellent. But the audience had to fight to focus due to the outrageously loud party going on in the adjacent room. Through glass doors the small partys noises at times drowned out the fiddle play and singing onstage.
Great music venue. I like the Sunday brunches. Expansive menu and a variety of music. My last visit wasnt as good. Service was really slow. Sat for 20 minutes before anyone came to take drink orders. We ordered tea and dessertI got mine but my friend didnt even asking two servers about the order. No refills of tea or water. I like that they pay the servers 15 an hour. Every bill has an added 20%. They suggest paying more for great service. Maybe thats why we didnt get 20% service
Ambiance is laid-back, classy. Kind of a blues bar feel, but high class and nice dining on the river. Very music-focused place. Kinda loud inside but you can eat outside. Serving staff is fast, friendly, top-notch. Beautiful view of the river. Fun to watch the boats go by. You can walk around the pier. Management is always doing interesting things with the events here.
Although the venue itself is pretty cool..but the prices were way inflated. They impose a 20% fee to all checks. I understand why because nobody would tip that much for service so poor and I believe its incentive for them to not provide good service. We ordered drinks and after 40 minutes they hadnt arrived. I went to the bar and got some and had them 1/3 consumed by the time the original order arrived at our table...food (chips and salsa and a capraise salad and a short rib bowl) actually arrived before the drinks. The food was okay but way overpriced. I understand prices at concerts are higher than just a restaurant but that food, one beer (Miller lite) and one vodka cranberry was $82. Insane. It would take a special band to get me to return.
Had our wedding reception here this summer. Everyone on both sides kept telling us it was the most fun theyve ever had at a wedding. The food was delicious, the sights were amazing and Shannon decorated the entire space for us, which helped so much on the day of the wedding. She was incredibly helpful with figuring out the décor plan, planning and seating chart. The bartenders were a little rude but did cut people off if they thought they were getting too drunk.
We had a great time here!! The energy of the room was buzzing! We tried almost every appetizer and you can’t go wrong, with any of them except the crab cake. Neither the portion nor the seasoning and taste reflect what they do well here. But the shrimp are amazing as was the Brie, the Buffalo cauliflower, and the calamari. We had fish for our entrees and the salmon and the perch were both well seasoned and cooked beautifully. The staff is newer post pandemic, but they’re trying super hard to work together and it shows. Once the expo gets the table numbers down, it’s going to be flawless. Thanks for a great time Music Box! It’s good to be in the world again.
Not my favorite place to see a show in the CLE but it is still a great place. Table seating in the norm for the main room. Each table seats 4 or more. I have found that the best sound and aight linea are actually in the back of the room. It is one of the only places that I would say, skip the front row.The beer selection is great. Plenty of normal beers on tap and some specials, so dont forget to ask. Mixed drinks of all kinds are available as well and they have great bartenders. The drink prices are in line with other places like this. Not corner bar cheap, but not expensive either.Food is available and is really good. Hot sandwiches with really good ingredients is the specialty. I love the Cubano, but anything is good here. Prices are really fair for being in a setting like this.
Had the Supper club, hall. Got a cheese burger and fries. Was served with lettuce/tomato/etc on side by default. Fries and burger were excellent. Service was great and friendly. Absolutely going more often. Excited to try the brunch menu. The show was great, albeit louder than I liked. Would love to have been able to sit on the balcony area, listening to the band over the speakers and watching the boats cruise by.
This was my first time here and it was for a dinner story telling show. The location is nice, set on the Cuyahoga river with a good view of the Cleveland skyline. The building is clean, safe and decorated nicely inside and the staff was very helpful and quick to take our order and deliver everything we wanted with great follow up. We had no complaints about the location or service, very good in that regard. As for the food and drinks, that has much to be desired. The stuffed mushrooms and chopped salad were both very good and priced fairly for the portion size and quality, best food items of the night. As for the main dinner, well. This burger and fries had nothing over Wendys or Burger King for sure. I always enjoy a good burger, but this was not one of those times. It was very dry, lacking any type of flavor and served on a basic bun with a small mound of regular, unexciting French fries, lettuce, tomato and onion. I smothered it in ketchup to try and give it any type of life. We also had an order of the tacos and side of beans, all of which had the appearance and taste of store bought and put on a plate, no originality or flavor that kept you coming back for more. The drinks were a good variety to choose from and there were selections of beer, wine as well as full bar service. We had a selection of beers and they were good, but, that is someone elses beer in a glass provided by the restaurant, so you really cant go terribly wrong there.Bottom line, we had a burger and fries, mushroom appetizer and a chopped salad to share, taco plate and 5 beers - $103I can honestly say that this was NOT a place that has caught my eye of places to return to or recommend. For the cost and food quality I would have done much better going to a local bar. Clearly they feel the location is what makes the food and drinks worth the high price, but I see an overpriced location that most likely wont be around very long.
A great little venue for music. The show by Out Of Eden (an Eagles tribute band) was really good. However, The buffet of mediocre chafing dish fare took me back to the days of Home Towne Buffet. The scrambled eggs were room temp., the home fries were rather salty (pre-salted potatoes??) The bacon and sausage seemed as if they had been cooked the night before and reheated. The food at a $20.00 buffet should be at least as good as what I make at home. There is a coffee urn at the beginning of the buffet service, but it is not included in the buffet. Surprise, you WILL pay $4.00 for your cup of coffee. If I return to the place for a show, I will stop at Bob Evans for breakfast first.
This visit was in the upstairs section which allows for better physical distancing. Unfortunately, during this pandemic no buffett is allowed. However, they have a menu from which you can choose. The first order is a full portion and every order thereafter is half portions. The pineapple mimosa was perfect. The waiter, although not rude, was not as attentive as I would have expected. The band was good.
We just attended the Moving in Stereo brunch this past Sunday. The band was phenomenal as usual. The service, on the other hand was simply unacceptable. We were seated and no server greeted us for 20-25 min. We had already walked up to the bar to get our own drinks and helped ourselves to the buffet. When our server did come over, she conveyed the feeling that she was annoyed with our party for getting our own drinks and food. During the performance, I again went to the bar because the server totally ignored us. I will say that I’m glad the buffet is back because I had the same experience last month with another server. I understand that this is post covid but when you observe tables being served drinks who were seated after us, you can’t blame everything on covid. Then you add a 20% device fee because you are paying your servers $15/ hr. Do you see how you’ve removed the incentive to provide quality service?? I always tip20% or more but not here. I love your venue but you need a manager on the floor to supervise and direct staff. Oh, the best part was that she never picked up our tab. We had paid with cash so we walked over to the bar to hand it to her. Self service to say the least
Went for music and Sunday brunch recently. A table card explained they pay all their employees $15 per hour minimum. For buffet service, drinks only provided by server, they added 20 percent service fee to bill. The same card explained we could add a TIP for exceptional service. Was confusing so I asked the waitress if she gets any of the 20 percent fee and she said no, they make 25 cents an hour. Not sure whom to believe...
My son had his wedding there on Oct 31, 2020. Music Box did an incredible job. Everything ran so smoothly. The food was probably the best we have ever had at a wedding. The staff were attentive but not overbearing. I HIGHLY recommend this venue for a future event. Thank you Music Box staff for an incredible and memorable evening.
This is one of the gems of Cleveland. The intimacy and talent reminds of the great days of Wilberts on St Clair Hill and the Pirates Cove/Peabodys Downunder. Add the kitchen to the talent, and Mike and Colleen making sure every visit is a good experience -- a must visit.
I have always enjoyed the Music Box. The bands are always great. The pricing has gotten to the point where I will think twice before seeing a cover or tribute band there. The tickets have gone way up in pricing. Using AXS, as is recommended on the website, adds a $7 convenience fee to the tickets making them $25/person. Its great that the servers are paid $15/hour, but increasing the food prices substantially AND adding a 20% surcharge made this evening out incredibly pricey for what it was. Our server was great and attentive. A Crown Royal straight was a tiny pour at $9.50. Prosecco at $10/split was fair. The calamari for $15 was good. The entree sized Caesar salads were tasty but very small at $11 each. For $8, I added salmon to my Caesar salad - the piece was about 2 ounces, dry and hard. I had asked for the salmon to be medium rare; I was informed that you get what you get. We did get another round of drinks - but instead of Crown Royal, we got beer for a better value. I used to get the walleye, but it is up to $30 for a pre-portioned, warmed-up entree; it used to be around $22. All in all, it was a nice evening, but the total including the tickets and not including parking came to $170 for a great band, 4 drinks, 1 appetizer and 2 mediocre entrees. The Supper Club check totaled $100 ($80 + $20 surcharge). This was in the Supper Club. We had a similar experience in the concert hall a couple of weeks ago. I am sad because I have frequented the Music Box often in the past. I like the venue, but even in a post-Covid world, I think they have gotten greedy.
Had dinner there for Doobie Brothers Tribute. Way over priced. Service was average at best. Not enough help. We told them short ribs were really fatty. Waitress was supposed to send manager over and never did. Our bill was over 200. We had bottle of wine and 20 percent gratuity automatically added in. I also had fish tacos and asked for no onions. It was long wait so when they came out with onions I just picked out. Very disappointing.
Well was really excited for the Drag Bingo event after contacting the box office a few weeks ago and getting a detailed and friendly response about all of the things they’ve done to account for the current restrictions.Unfortunately the reality of the event last night did not match. We didn’t plan on eating dinner but got to the event early like the original email said to grab a drink and get set up with our bingo card. While the greeter at the door seemed kind the 2 hostess in the room were awful. First I missed the sign that apparently you needed to stand 6 feet away from them to shout your last name from behind a mask because they were inside the room and the music was already blasting. And while the made me turn around and distance they let others walk right up to them after as I was seated right near the door.Second I don’t think either knows how to smile (even behind a mask) and may need a class on customer service as they are a poor representation of your business. They said apparently we were supposed to make a reservation on open table in order to have a seat at the show?! Nowhere in my emails does it say that anywhere and I would post them if most of my personal information wasn’t shown. So luckily there were still 2 seats at the bar because after us the other poor attendees who didn’t know to make a reservation were stuck looking at a wall or were literally in an area 2 rooms away.Won’t be recommending events here to anyone and not surprised now why they offer so many free tickets to shows. Fix your front line staff and communication and you may actually keep more first time customers.
Awful. Our waitress was lovely, beyond that the staff was not at all helpful. We were seated at a table where the view of the stage was non-existent. Why would you even have a table in a place where you cant see the stage. I spent the hour and a half looking at an I beam. This place will never see another penny of my money.
We had our wedding reception here and it was amazing! The planning process was a breeze, Shannon was so easy to work with and communicate with! When things didn’t go as planned, music box staff just went with the flow and it was like nothing ever went wrong! They even participated in our wedding games! The food was also AMAZING and the head chef, Dennis, was so kind and came out to check on us during the reception. Highly recommend music box as an event venue and as a lovely place for a nice dinner!
Went to see China Grove , Doobies tribute . Band was pretty good , food was not ,short ribs very fatty and small portion at 22 bucks . Caprese salad was ok but kind of bland . Drinks were pretty pricey , staff seems spread pretty thin . Gratuity built in kind of stinks I tip better , but I found out if servers dont meet a quota they dont get all tips . Nice Venue , needs a new menu , better portions or lower priced.
This is one of my husband and Is favorite places for an intimate music setting. The upstairs is accessible by wheelchair using the elevator. The staff is exceptional. Prices in the upstairs music hall are quite affordable and everything is very good. The upstairs music hall is a little bit crowded but they will be accommodating, especially if you have the need for wheelchair accessibility. Table seating & bar. Theres really not a bad seat in the house.Absolutely amazing music is offered at fantastic prices!Valet parking. We never worry about our car. They park some nice high end cars & keep a close eye on them all! Dont let that deter you from bringing your average car because your Chevy Blazer is watched over almost as well as that Jaguar!Beautiful setting right on the river. I cant say enough good about this place! Our only issue is that its an hour and a 1/2 away from us! Although that might be a good thing or I may never see my husband!
Very cool place! The brunch buffet was delicious. They do need a better presentation for the brunch buffet because it tasted a lot better than it looked. The music was wonderful (we saw Sinatra) and the service was great. We had a beautiful day when we visited so we were able to go outside and enjoy looking at the water. Parking was also easy in the lot next to the Music Box. I’d definitely visit again!
So we are planning our wedding here. I was pretty excited before because its a beautiful place overall. But, then we had our tasting the other day and it kinda blew my mind. The food was delicious and pretty reasonably priced. Shannon is very welcoming and so far we have had a great experience.
We had our wedding reception at the Music Box and it was a fantastic venue. It is great space for people to move around, talk, and dance. We had about 70 people on the main floor. There was space for more but we also didnt feel crowded. The people at the Music Box were very helpful through out the process and made the planning very easy. The indoor/outdoor aspect was great and the views across the water only improved as the night went on and the city lit up. We would highly recommend this venue.
I played at the Music Box this past Sunday for Reggae brunch. Great place to play, very fun vibe. Staff is wonderful, sound tech is excellent. Food was great as well. Really cool place. Looking forward to playing the gig again next year. Beautiful view right on the water!!!
As much as I love coming there and bringing my 84 yr old mother, as I did on Sunday for brunch with Michael Sonata, no one in my family will be returning. And I have a very large family. The fact that u are only accepting people with vaccine proof is TOTALLY rediculous!!!!! The fact that the vaccinated are spreading the virus more than non vaccinated and also some dying. The people who are afraid can mask up (also rediculous) or notcome. U, as an entertainment business is going to lose alot of money!!! I feel sorry for u!!! And I also hope u can offer proof of employees and patrons not having Aids, Hepatitis, Flu, Shingles etc.
The band was great, the service staff were distant and took care of you at their leisure. Understand the limited menu during this time however the drinks were so weak I should have brought a flask! My husband and I have been to the supper club many times and we have never experienced this!I just hope this isn’t the new normal!
I recently djed a wedding at this place and wow was it amazing. The food was great and the atmosphere was even better. There is a great view of the boats on the water that add to the ambiance. The entire staff was a joy to work with and I highly recommend anyone take time to visit the music box.
Ive been here for weddings, concerts and brunch and had a great experience each time. The venue is perfect for many different types of events. The big stage upstairs is great for intimate concerts or a private event. It also has a great rooftop deck with a nice city view. Downstairs has a bar/lounge type room with tiered seating areas. The food is very good and the staff is always active and engaging. Sunday brunch is amazing. The biscuits and gravy are delicious.
Awesome place to host an event. I had my mothers retirement party here. From start to finish the experience was awesome! Worked with Mitch and he was very knowledgeable and professional. The event was an absolute success the staff from the bar tenders to waiters were exceptional!!! Oh and the food was delicious ...and the view was beautiful!
Good music at a reasonable price, pick your style, there are lots of shows. Parking is reasonable at $5 next to the building. Drink prices are reasonable for such a venue, some in our group only had water. It was crowded when we went so go earlier to give you time to get parked and seated. Only items I did not like, but did not rate negatively were that they do pack in the crowd, so there is not much room between some of the tables and the only food choice was the $20 buffett, which is too much food as I am watching my weight. It would have been better to have a smaller, cheaper, food option.
Just a heads up if you are considering purchasing a gift certificate from the Music Box Supper Club. You may want to reconsider. Their process is not customer friendly at all. We received a gift voucher from our daughter and decided on an event we wanted to use it for coming up later this month. It says on the voucher to redeem at the box office, so I called the box office to inquire about how I could use it towards the event we are interested in. Although I called during business hours, I was prompted to leave a message and I did. No one returned my call after several hours, and so I called back. I was then told that we would have to go there in person to redeem the voucher. I explained that we live almost an hour away from downtown Cleveland, and asked if there was some way we could do the transaction over the phone or online. The representative said there wasnt, and she even checked with her manager to verify. Inconveniencing the customer doesnt appear to matter to this establishment. And so, if we want to attend the event we were interested in, we will need to spend almost two hours on the road to purchase our tickets with the gift certificate that our daughter spent $75 on. Apparently they were able to take her money with ease online, its just the exchange that must be complicated for the customer. What a terrible way to do business!
My wife and I had the pleasure to have experienced this wonderful new place over the weekend to see Carlos Jones. I was very impressed from the moment we walked inside and how we were greeted to efficiency of seating. Heather was our server for the evening and she was always available to get our next round of beverages. The venue is clean, comfortable and the sound system was great. Not too loud to interfere with a table conversation. We did not dine that evening but I hope to in the future. I understand the food is excellent as well. The supper club concept in Cleveland is going to be great with this venue as it captures exceptional dining, unique live talent and great location.
My husband and I met our family there to watch my cousins band, Weener, play. Have to say I havent been to the flats in a long time and I was so pleasantly surprised to see what a cool place you guys made this. It was a little dark for my 43-year-old eyes other than that it was fantastic. We had a great time listening to music and dancing. Everything was great and the bathrooms were clean and the server women were awesome. Cant wait to go back again!
I attended the Baroque Bistro with my husband and another couple, and all of us were pleasantly surprised (it was all of our first visit). We knew the show, being an Apollos Fire production, would be top-notch, but we were also impressed by the venue itself and the food. The one slight shortfall was in the servers lack of knowledge about the food and beverages, but despite that she was pleasant and attentive. Overall, an excellent dining/entertainment experience, at a reasonable price!
Over all, a good experience although you have to pay to valet your car and pay for the show and pay for your food if you want to sit and eat. They also have shared tables so you can be seated with people you dont know. I didnt like that none of this information was on the website. I was able to reserve a table online but its unclear if you still have to pay for a ticket if youre eating. In reserving the tickets when we got there it was shared seating which was fine for us but some people might not like that and it might be good to know that ahead of time. Also charging for valet is not necessary when youre paying for a ticket and food but since we were from out of state, we did it. We were complaining a little but the staff didnt mind. They were polite as we discussed our gripes. The service is what you would expect from a crowded music venue. Youre not going to get one on one service as you would in a restaurant but our server addressed all our needs and took her time with us when she got to us so we didnt feel rushed even though she was busy. The food is reasonably priced. I would have expected it a bit higher for a venue so no complaints there and food and drinks were both good. I gave 3 stars due to the lack of information available before arriving. I definitely suggest calling ahead if you have any concerns or expectations.
Paid for regular seating but got stuck with a high chair that literally faced the wall. I asked if I could upgrade to a table and they said they were sold out but would be able to offer us one if they had a no show. There were clearly some no shows but we were never moved. I guess if you get stuck with section 700 (was not able to choose through the site) be prepared to deal with an obstructed view (giant pillar) and an uncomfortable high chair. Flash seats direct will allow you to choose your own section so avoid 700 by all means. The food was nothing special. The new burgers are obviously precooked and tasted very bland. Do like others suggest and just eat somewhere else before the show. The service was really good however and the sound was fantastic. I would have given it 4 stars but my back is still hurting from those tall chairs.
Decent service, good entertainment, and good atmosphere. The food, on the other hand, was a different story. The bread was fresh and steamy, and the entrees looked good, but the taste and texture were just off-putting.They did, however, take good care of my vegan friend and provide a satisfactory alternative.Overall, the service was a highlight, but food was nothing outside of the box.
Tonight was a repeat of our last experience, which was horrible! The entertainment was great but that is the only positive thing I can say about this place. Once again we waited an eternity just to get a drink. Our food order did arrive slightly quicker than the last time, but it was NOT worth the wait! My suggestion is to eat BEFORE you go and then just enjoy the entertainment. I dont know if the problem is with management and not having enough staff to handle the room, or, if we have just had bad luck with lackluster service. We usually tip very heavily but not at this place where you could die of hunger and thirst before something shows up on your table. I feel for the prices on this limited menu you should at least get decent food and better service. Its so disappointing that these last two visits have been this way. In the past things were so much better. I have serious doubts about ever returning.
Went to see Les Roberts. His books are fun to read because they are about a private eye in Cleveland. What a nice venue. Sitting on the banks of the Cuyahoga river, cozy atmosphere, good food. The interview was entertaining. Staff was friendly. There was no charge for the author interview. The restaurant offered a $20 meal or you could order off the menu. Will definitely go again.
Great show! Very nice place for family and friends, experienced very pleasant person. Lisa was great , she actually referred a very knowledgeable manager for our great wine selection. Andrew and Lisa just made our night for family and friends so enjoyable. This venue was excellent! Great music, Great food, excellent service! Thank you Lisa and Andrew for making our night enjoyable!
Always a great venue for entertainment. The food is HORRIBLE in ballroom, but you sit even if you dont eat. Rusty Anchor great food and intimate. But BEWARE. Buying a ticket for band doesnt guarantee you a place to sit. The site doesnt make this clear, but need to make reservations/pay additional for brunch/dinner seating, or youll most likely have to stand the whole concert.
Good dinner. Odd seating, with some of the better? seats packing you in like fish in a can. Very uncomfortable, and Im not a big person. You sit there for two-three hours just watching people play music. Maybe seats further back better? Service, scale of one to ten about a 4-5. When they turn the lights on you see lots of dust and dirt. That whole area is just hard especially in the cooler months ( eight ) of the year. Maybe if you really lived for music and visiting Cleveland it would be okay but for me many other options away from Cleveland that are just more competitive from and leisure/recreation standpoint. I like trying new and diverse experiences. Im not hating we went, unlikely to return. Just not my jam.
I was here for a private work even and the lower level was for our party. The food was top notch, and the service was even better talking care of 100+ people eating and drinking. The bartenders were the best in Cleveland, and the wait staff made sure each customer was happy and kept the tables cleared and clean.I am thoroughly impressed with music box supper club, and they will definitely be considered high on the list if I need to host an event in the future.Keep up the hard work crewThank you,Joseph P
This place basically never disappoints. The Rusty Anchor restaurant is a bit more expensive than it should be, but the couple of times weve been there the food has been good, so cant complain too much. The music is, well, it can really be fantastic whether in the music hall or the supper club. Its clean, well-appointed, service is good enough and youve got really great views before or after the show (or during, if its boring).Weve never been disappointed; I daresay you wont be either.
Went for brunch. Great selection of food. Sat at the bar since we didnt reserve seats, had a great view from there. Music fills the room but isnt too loud. Pay attention when purchasing online, you purchase the tickets for the concert, then you also have to reserve seats, then when you get there you choose if you want food or not. So just buying tickets doesnt mean youll have somewhere to sit!
Got married on the rooftop deck and had our reception upstairs. The entire staff went above and beyond what needed to be done. We had an absolutely amazing experience from the first walk through, the tasting, the rehearsal, all the way to the end of the reception. Everything and everybody we dealt with was amazing.
My sister had her wedding reception here and it was truly incredible. The venue was in a gorgeous location right on the river with a huge outdoor patio for socializing. Meanwhile inside we had a stage for the bridal party and a dance floor where everyone could be loud and party. The bar and dinner service was amazing. I never had an empty drink at dinner. A few glasses broke while our rowdier groomsmen were dancing and it was taken care of immediately each time. The staff moved my sisters gifts for her at the end of the night to the car and in general were incredibly helpful.
This place is fantastic. This is my 1st time here and I will definitely be back! I saw a Tom Petty cover band (shadow of doubt) who were absolutly wonderful. The brunch was delicious with a nice variety. Not to mention the Bloody Mary bar!! This was my favorite part. Everything you could possibly want to put in your bloody mary!!! Fantastic experience!!
We went for dinner and a weekly book presentation. The restaurant has a great spot on the river. The food was really good. The tables were so close together that the people next to us joined in on our conversation. The presentation was a nice contribution to Cleveland community get togethers.
Nice venue with view over river but food really needs to improve. Our party of five diners were generally dissatisfied with their different dishes. Many dishes too salty. Also lacked other flavors e.g. basil rice didnt taste of basil.Amended review to give 4 instead of 3 stars given reply.
Rarely sounds good (exception: The Posies / Terra Lightfoot show... The sound guy must have actually liked both artists because you could actually hear the for once!). The assigned seating is weird, and makes it hard to go out to a show with a group unless only one person buys all of the tickets. The food is beyond disappointing. And maybe once a year they get a show worth seeing. Its a bummer, because its such a cool concept, but the execution is less than awesome. At least the staff is all very friendly and attentive.
Great location by the water which is peaceful and lively at the same time. Some nice and mediocre menu items together. The walleye was great while the ribeye steak was so so. Salty olive slices fried together with calamari was a first and disappointment. Service is kind but slow probably due to the crowd for the shows.
I had a horrible experience at this establishment. I has reservations for 8 people for Fathers Day. They had a live reggae band and advertised some good happy hour specials. We had seats on the riverfront deck. I was warned by one of the patrons that was leaving out that the service was horrible her food was terrible and they waited a long time for everything. I took my chances and stayed because it seemed like a good venue. BIG MISTAKE. We were seated and waited for one hour and not one waitress came outside at all.. not to serve us or anyone at all. We werent even brought water and it was 90 plus degrees outside. We decided to go to bar and get a drink before we left and the bartender tried to charge us full price for our drinks, we told them that wasnt the advertised happy hour price and they said they dont do happy hour on sundays. I literally had to pull up the advertisement for the happy hour to get the correct price. First time I ever had reservations anywhere and never got waited on. To have to leave my seat after an hour to got get my own drink is just ridiculous.. and still had to go somewhere else for dinner is even more ridiculous. This place is a joke.
Music Box is an excellent venue for an intimate concert experience. The setup enables a wonderful dinner (especially the short ribs) session followed by the performance just feet away. The staff has always been fun and knowledgeable, and knows how to be unobtrusive. I shall go to any show without hesitation.
It was the first time me and my wife have been to the Music Box.We had received complimentary tickets for the Nitebridge Motown Review, through a email opportunity. We didnt know to reserve table or seating or anything. It was crowded so we were going to leave because we thought it might not have been the best evening planning for us. But the maitre d was pleasant & accommodating by finding us seats at the bar.The bartenders were very nice & friendly.Great atmosphere..great food & great crowd. It turned what could have been a bad evening to one well never forget. We look forward to coming back...soon.Thank-you.
The Music Box is a great place to catch smaller acts and cover bands. Nice place with a great view right on the river. Nice that people can get dinner before the shows. My one complaint is that they try to squeeze too many people at the tables, really packed in. We like getting seats along the wall - just a barstool and a ledge to set a drink on but its not so crowded.
We only stopped at the bar, and everyone was nice and the live music was fun... but I didnt really get what was going on and the impression was the staff didnt know either. Its was a bit pricey for that sort of experience. Either it needs to be casual and casually priced, or the management needs to step it up a bit to match what they charge.
We and two friends saw Tweed in the Supper Club last night. Tweeds performance -- every song -- was perfect. Irish jigs and reels, Gaelic and Scottish ballads, Appalachian and bluegrass songs and ballads. Please bring them back, SOON! Note that your audience loves them -- every seat in the room was taken, with the addition of two mezzanine tables!
Food was good. Arrived over an hour early, but service was slow, not because of wait staff, there just werent enough of them. Would not do dinner again. Would probably just get dessert and drinks. Did not like them handing out bill during the announced last song.the audience for the performance we attended was quiet and totally engaged with listening to the music. I felt bad for the people the waitress was handing the bill to because they missed most of the last song because of her.
Very nice place to watch live music performers and eat. Also can go there to get a drink. Large selection of wine. Prices are reasonable. Parking is only $5.00. Dining reservations recommended but they have plenty of seating. eatery is called rusty anchor they have alot of seafood options. Loved this place for a great night out, very cozy.
I absolutely love it here. I could hop from one show to the next and enjoy them all. The variety of shows and personalties keep me interested. The show prices are affordable. Parking is easy too! While I will say the service is top notch every time I have gone, I do have issues getting my dish minus the gluten additions. This is something Im used to but for the prices of the food I expect a bit more effort from a chef. I still keep coming back though!
From Stephen at the box office to Michael behind the bar, the service was friendly helpful, and pleasant. The food-- half roast chicken and shrimp tempura and scallops( separate dish). was well done and tasty.Ive been several times, both upstairs and downstairs, and like the venues and I selected shows which were much to my taste. A great addition to the Cleveland music scene. And brilliantly sited on the west bank of the Cuyahoga with river view and balcony and rooftop options.I will probably be a regular and like to bring friends along.
We had tickets to see Jonah Koslen on 1/27/18 at the 8:30 show. We had dinner reservations at the Rusty Anchor. We had five people in our party. Everyone ordered something different. The food was fantastic. Service was good. The show was beyond amazing. We will definitely be coming back!!
I truly like this venue and would like to go more often. There is a HUGE issue with the employees all giving different information. We actually were there for 2 shows in one day. The Beatles brunch we booked well over a month before we came. We were told on the phone we could NOT make a reservation???? When we arrived they asked if we had a reservation so consequently had to take bar seating for a family party. When I talked to the manager about this he barely listened. THEN we went to get the tickets for the evening show. The said to come back at the break. We went at the break and they said to come back after the show. After the show we were told we cannot get them until 30 minutes before the show....WTH.......this will kill the venue before anything else...Where is the management, training?????? Anyhow help yourselves stay alive.....GET A GOOD GM AND TRAIN PEOPLE. Also food is only fair - you may want to upgrade that a bit.
I had the most disturbing experience of my life at the Music Box. While attending a music event this Sunday One of the servers refused to serve our party of 10 professionals. We were accused of being disorderly by a young lady who refused to give her name. When we asked what was it that precipitated this ridiculous accusation we were threatened by one of the managers Annalise who said and I quote I am not going to address you and if you ask me one more question Im going to call the police. To say we were shocked is an understatement. We were humiliated, embarrassed and obviously profiled. The accusations came out of the blue there was no incident, no loud talking, cursing we were just gathered like all the other groups on the patio and when of our party asked for another drink (All of us had only one) we were told no because we were all drunk and disorderly and they were closing bar and they had the right to refuse service. Not only that but the young lady never gave any of us change back from any of our individual drink orders. She told us they didnt have change. But it really appears that she thought she wouldnt get a tip so she kept the money from every sale she took. DO NOT GO TO THE MUSIC BOX UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES its not worth the chance of the police being called.
Ive only been here one time for a science talk. But the service was quick the drinks were good and the food was actually better than I would have expected since upstairs isnt necessarily set up as a restaurant. Its a pretty nice venue with a great view of the Cuyahoga River and ns1 Bridge with Coastal taco across the river on the East Bank. Looking forward to trying out the actual restaurant downstairs.

2022-05-05Went here for a drag bingoWent here for a drag bingo. The Queens definitely made it a lot of fun. Although we were there for I think about 5 hours It felt like 2. Vicky the manager is awesome! I only gave 3 stars because I felt they were overpriced for the quality of the food and drinks they were serving. $12 for a week martini is not OK. Not sure if Ill ever go back.

2022-02-26The Music Box Supper Club was a very big disappointment in every aspect. There was a breakfast brunch being served and it might have been good if it were not for the fact that everything was cold.We had to ask multiple servers for a single cup of coffee and a glass of orange juice, because no one seemed to be taking care of are table. We finally got the drinks after about 20 minutes.Everyone was required to show proof of vaccination or a negative covid test and mask wearing was supposed to be required when not eating or drinking but that certainly was not happening. The tables are also extremely close, we had peoples butts practically sitting on our table as they tried to squeeze through to other tables. And I have heard better sound systems in high school auditoriums. On top of all this the place has nerve enough to add a 20 percent gratuity to cover employees wages.Upon leaving, not one of the 4 people sitting up front even bothered to say have a nice day

2021-09-09My husband and I spent Labor Day Weekend in Cleveland and wanted to see a live music show. I booked tickets pretty far out and got an email a week before that they were going to be requiring vaccination or negative covid test results. Their website and email also said masks were required. Even if we didnt want to go at this point, they dont allow refunds. I had read reviews before booking the tickets and saw a lot of mixed reviews so I was nervous at what our experience would be.We arrived about an hour early so we could eat before the show started. Our food and drinks came out quickly and everything was pretty good. I would recommend coming and eating before the show as once the show starts the service tappers off quite a bit. Of course, you dont have to order food at all.Not many people wore masks, which didnt bother me, but the email did say they were required. The couple next to us complained that they automatically add a 20% gratuity fee - but we knew this before coming so we werent surprised to see it on our bill.I would go again, if we are ever in the area. The view from the dock was pretty!

2022-02-17I absolutely love going to see a show at the Music Box. They have amazing entertainers from around the globe as well as local acts. The venue itself is clean. The sound is crystal clear. The owners just take the absolute best care of this venue. There are other clubs in Cleveland and they kind of all cater to the younger crowd with late start times, multiple opening acts, and just kind of a we want to be the CBGBs of Cleveland kind of vibe.Music Box proves you still can rock and actually take care of your property. I guess there is a time and place for the graffiti walled bathrooms with no stalls on the doors, but I dont know, something about having a nice bottle of wine and chilling in a comfortable place is kind of homey these days. They still have the Pabst and Hi-life if you want to party like a rock star too.The food is great too. I come for the music but I know anything I order from the kitchen is going to be top notch as well. Brunch or dinner they have you covered. Oh yeah, servers are always attentive, fast and friendly.

2022-02-19Been there multiple times. Shows are great and reasonably priced. I also like that they build in a service charge to pay their staff fairly.Only gripe is the food. It’s a bit on the pricey side and inconsistent. Upstairs the Cuban sandwich is amazing, but the fries must have been frozen for years. Gumbo was good but far too salty.Downstairs the short rib is outstanding. But $31 for short rib, 5 green beans and a small pile of mashed potatoes is robbery. Also the “stuffed banana peppers” is a singular banana pepper for $17. It was very good, but tiny for an appetizer.

2022-06-22Large rotation of diverse musical talent. Not inexpensive drinks. Not a place for plant based dining. Plus 20% “service charge” because their high prices can’t support paying a decent wage? Clean. Hardworking Staff. A well established venue. Beautiful riverside location. Good sound system.

2022-06-08Great place for concerts. Always enjoy myself every time I visit. We have been to the Music Box Supper Club upstairs for concerts and dinner a few times. We have been downstairs at the Rusty Anchor for concerts & Sunday Brunch several times. The food and service are great, the concerts are always fantastic, the atmosphere is phenomenal. This place is right on the river. So much fun. I LOVE it. UPDATE: 11/21/2021 Saw Broken Arrow- Neil Young Tribute and they are AMAZING. Update: 6/05/22 We went for Sunday Brunch and saw Long Time Gone; they are always fun.

2021-11-29One of my favs! The food is consistently good, great service & as a bonus music or lectures (Cleveland Talks). It sets on the river bank & it is just a beautiful setting.
