Not consistent whatsoever. Sometimes the food is decent, and other times you can’t eat the food due to the chicken being drenched in oil. Every bad review written for this place is absolutely true without a doubt, and it’s hysterical to see the workers/owners responding in an immature way. If you can’t take constructive criticism lightly, why even open a restaurant? Disable the reviews if you’re going to act sensitive in front of customers. This just goes to show how shallow and inexperienced you are lol which isn’t a good look at all.
The food was good but the pricing was absurd. I feel it’s wrong to charge 5.95 for such a small fountain drink. On top of that they decided to added a tip without letting the customer know. I always add a tip when I eat out, but to add a tip without letting me know is ridiculous.
This is my second time having Mr. Hummus Grill and I am impressed by the deliciousness of the food they serve! This time, my friends and I ordered take-out/catering from them for a dinner party and we ordered the biggest platter they had available and every single item on that platter, especially the rice (which Im addicted to), was busting with flavor. Meats were well marinated, they provided plenty of pitas and sides to share among our group of 6 people. All of us were very happy with the food! Hope to return for more good food! I highly recommend their platter for parties and for dining in!
We stopped in for the first time last week and what a lovely find! The interior is a wonderful combination of cozy and elegant, with beautiful dark wood paneling and comfortable seating. Riso was our waiter and he was excellent! We were immediately brought a basket of warm pita to dip in nice olive oil with herbs and sun dried tomato. Riso made great suggestions for what to eat since it was our first time. We got the entire fried snapper (delicious, served with yummy little pickles which really made it!) and the kaftka- I have long loved kaftka and this was incredible, spiced perfectly and very rich! The only way the meal could have been better would be if you could have Lebanese wines to go with the excellent food! We also got to try the baklava, which is the best I have ever had and full of lovely pistachio, and the Turkish coffee which was rich with cardamom and was so good it didn’t need sugar. We had a lovely time and will definitely be back to try more things on the menu!
I love this restaurant! I go here almost every week! The food is great!! I love they Lebanese burger and they frozen drinks! I been taking all my friends and family to try the foods! I become friends with all the waitresses and the owner. They are all great with they service! I really recommend this restaurant for family night, date nights, birthdays, and more... it’s a bit pricey but the quality is great so I don’t mind it.
Loved loved loved it!!! Outstanding, full of deliciousness and mouth watering food. After a long time had such awesome food. Owner himself was so nice and a good host. He recommended Roasted lamb, Chicken tawook and Beef Shish kabob platter and we ordered all three of them.Would love to be back here as much as can.
I ordered my my food to be delivered to me when received it I didn’t get any utensils no napkins the bread was still frozen the meat looks like oven baked with no taste …. I though the meat will be grilled on the charcoal …seriously I ordered from somewhere else so I can enjoy my lunch with my family ..and just waste my money there ……..
Great place, good food, clean and tidy, friendly staff, decent pricing, I would recommend this place and would consider revisiting.Second visit,Rating change from 5-2Quality of food came down drastically. Staff wasnt friendly nor helpful. I was staring at a bowl full of cold bread without any sauce or oil until I got my main order.Tried mint smoothly again.. was horrible this time.. some spoiled mint and got it after I was finished and waiting to leave.. wouldnt consider revisiting.
Loved there lamb shank, The rice was so good. As usual the owner came and chat and give advice about what they just made, he heard my father like one of there appetizers he complemented us with large one instead of the small we ordered. My wife liked there Sujuk and Ive tried there Lebanese burger before and it was so good.
Great place from the interior, to service to food. I am very surprised this place was somewhat empty on a Friday night. The interior is classy, service is very good, the food was delicious, fresh, spiced just perfectly. We ordered a sample platter for two. The portion was enough for 3+ people. Will come again when in a mood for Lebanese cusine :).
This place is probably one of my top favorite Mediterranean restaurants in Columbus, OH. They catered an event we had at the Ohio State University and the food was amazing! Not to mention, they were so generous and doubled the amount of food we requested for no extra charge.
Oh my gosh. what an expensive place.I ordered Chicken kafta platter and it just came with 3 tiny pieces for $15. we ordered grilled shrimp and there were 7 pieces for $19.Not worth it at all.Never visiting this place again. unnecessarily expensive.DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME HERE.
The Lebanese burger and lamb kafta are amazing. HOWEVER, be aware that some items are not authentic. We ordered the knafeh at the suggestion of our waiter, and it was terrible, something they had shipped, defrosted, and heated. Also, we were only a party of two and our waiter charged us gratuity with our bill (something I’ve never seen a restaurant do unless they were prejudiced and believed that they weren’t going to receive a tip automatically). Their menu clearly states that only parties of 5 or more are immediately charged gratuity. I’m assuming that was our waiter’s way of still making us pay for something that was just not good, so something to take note of!
This is the place that as soon as you walk in, you know immediately that you won’t be dissapointed of the food. I loved the atmosphere and the staff was super patient about explaining some items on the menu since it was our first visit in thereGood presentation of the food, very well balance of taste, and I appreciate that they don’t go overwhelm with proportions of salt and spices. Everything was on point and perfect.Nice experience and definitely going to go back
Great Experience! Tarek has done a great job launching his new restaurant. The food was delicious and service was fantastic. We were greeted by several different people about how our meals were and if we required anything else. Everything is clean and the service is spectacularly warm. The hospitality and quality here is what will keep me coming back to Mr Hummus. Its great to have a Middle Eastern restaurant in a popular area of Columbus (specifically Lebanese.) Try it. I promise you wont be disappointed.
Sorry Guys, this is what is left of our lunch meal. It was a pleasure meeting my friends on this beautiful day and eating in their outdoor seating. The food was amazing and service was on point. The Executive Chef took the time to shake our hand and ask how was our experience. We are so happy to visited and will come again.
Looks way nicer on the inside than what you expect from outside appearance. Somewhat upscale, classy music and cloth napkins. Very friendly and polite staff.I had the roasted lamb. It was the most tender, juicy and delicious lamb i have ever had. If i didnt live on the opposite end of town, i would be a regular.
Not worth it. Expensive we sat outside kids and wife kept waiting for almost 15 minutes with no service till I had to go inside. Eventually they brought some food to try it was basic entry then you have to pay 18% gratuity. Better plate and better food somewhere else will cost half that amount. No not coming backWhat is funny the owner replay down from my review, instead of fixing your none sense operation he is fighting customers. No one can force customer to pay 18% gratuity no one. Especially if they feel uncomfortable.. come on now
1st visit on Sunday 10/31/2021. We will be back! My wife is a vegetarian and eating in restaurants can be difficult. She had the Mujaddara Hamra and it was delicious. (I had a bite and I can confirm it was great) I had the kebabs. The atmosphere of the place is very nice....except for a few crying kids at a large table, but thats not the restaurants fault. We also had the hummus appetizer which was creamy and delicious. My wife LOVED the pita bread wedges. (and shes not normally a bread person.)
Update: a year later & ordered a falafel sandwich.. realizing it was wrapped in a tortilla was very disappointing. The menu fluffed it to seem as if the bread used would have been more authentic than a white flour tortilla with very little lettuce and hummus to accommodate. The only thing fresh and filling about it was the falafel. The staff who served us was very insensitive after asking how the food was. Youre not allowed to be honest. The owner was very nice and greeted us but the servers response was very defensive. Why ask if you dont intend to own it at the very least or try to make it a better experience. The quality is gone..
First time here and it was delightful. The atmosphere and food were great. Fattoush salad was beautifully prepared and seasoned to perfection. We tried the kafta Kebab platter and modern falafel tacos were super delicious. Riso was our server and did Outstanding service ! I highly recommend and I will definitely be going back.
This is our new favorite restaurant! The staff was amazing, the food was delicious and while we did takeout, the inside looked awesome. One of the items ordered came with rice instead of fries and they promptly fixed it while letting us keep the rice. I had some of the best baklava Ive ever had in a long time!I promptly tripped and dropped my chicken shawarma as soon as I got home and they were kind enough to replace it as well. Im definitely going back, maybe as soon as this weekend!
I had a horrible experience here waiters are not responding your request they walk pass you like you are not there, brought my food late with cold bread and finally forced me to tip them for 15% I should decide who to tip if you are not serving me good why should I tip you this was my first time there and will be my last...stay away from this place
A bit overpriced to be honest. The appetizer we ordered was drenched in oil and flavorless. The entrees were ok, at least the meat was cooked at the right temperature. They only include one side with their entree, at $21-25 average they should at least add a small side salad. Nothing was seasoned, we had to ask for salt. Also a 15% gratuity is included on your bill. The service was good, server was attentive and polite. I would recommend going to Cafe Istanbul instead if you are looking for this type of cuisine, about the same price and a better experience.
Food was good. They were a little slow in bringing food. Everything tasted great but they put a tip automatically on your bill. I do not like a forced tip. We had 2 in our party. I’ve only seen forced tips of like 8 or more people. But I often give more than standard 15%. But never here would I give more.
Great food. I have lived & worked 11 Arab Countries, I can this food reminded me the authentic Middle Eastern food I had on the streets of Beirut, Cairo, Dubai, Riyad, manama, Doha, Baghdad, Yemen ( several different cities ) & Djibouti. Very hospitable crew & staff with awesome costumer service. Thanks guys
This place is great! Atmosphere is one of the best within area, feels classy yet comfortable. The staff is friendly and on the ball without hovering. They know what they’re doing and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Great leadership!Food is amazing! cultural Classics and for their prices it’s 100% worth it. I could eat here once a week!
Mr. Hummus Grill is the best middle eastern restaurant in town. We showed up with a group of 8 and the service was amazing, the owner Tarek himself came out to check on us, its great to see how passionate the owner was about our experience. Their hummus and lamb chops were great. If you want to try different items go for the family platter, its a great value and you also get to try different meats. Thank you Mr. Hummus for serving quality food, I will always come back.
The food is amazing and comes in large portions, I always bring home leftovers. Best hummus around and the falafel is delicious. The baklava is to die for. Ive tried many items off the menu and am never disappointed, the shish tawook is my favorite, juicy and always cooked to perfection. The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. The owner is kind and generous and always stops by our table to check on us and have a chat.
By far the best food in Columbus, whenever we have a big gathering or even just a few friends, they make it so easy and fast to get us in and seated. They really care about there customers and the servers are really nice and you can have a enjoyable conversation with them. This is by far the best Lebanese food I’ve ever had , once you have it once you’ll definitely come back. My family is big so the platters are great for them quantity and price wise. Keep it up guys
Stopped here driving through Columbus on our way home from Hocking Hills. Food was fabulous. Portions were very generous. Great atmosphere and very clean. Staff were incredibly friendly and accomodating. Will definitely be adding this to the agenda next time were in the area.
When you charge the customer the tip on the bill..that make your waitresses performance very poor,we asked your both waitresses for salt 3 times, during our dine in last Sunday, we finished and the salt never showed. And when I asked her why you didnt bring the salt ,her excuse sorry we are very busy... food poorly cooked, hire a chef,
Today We placed an order at 8:15 pm but the orders came around 9:20 pm. we waited a lot. There was only one server and service was too slow. Managers should recheck the schedule of waiters. Also we didnt like the taste of the food. I got sheesh kabab and asked for medium rare but it was almost fully cooked. I didnt like this place.
This place is expensive and the food taste horrible. The family platter was super salty and expensive and didn’t have enough meats. The olive oil tasted watered down. The waiter was ordering and demanding. It felt like she had no patients for our first time there. They charged a 18% tip just to eat there. Definitely the first and last time going there.
Oh my goodness!I have just eaten the best pizza in my life. The cauliflower crust falafel pizza is sublime and decadent. Im vegan and they do not disappoint with the menu. Also, the hummus is purely natural, no artificial additives. I have just found my new go to restaurant. I wish the owner and staff nothing but success and continued motivation in creating delicious , healthy meals.Price means nothing when it comes to quality.
Great restaurant!! The food is absolutely delicious!! You probably cant go wrong no matter what you order here. The wait staff is prompt, very courteous, the atmosphere is very nice, people of many different cultures dine there so it appeals to a great variety of palettes. But the food is just absolutely amazing.
My new favorite spot! I traveled all the way from Cleveland to Columbus to try out this establishment. First, the staff is absolutely wonderful. Very welcoming and friendly. The food was O-M-G! I had the hummus, baba ghanoush, and the chicken shawarma. I was in HEAVEN! If I could give more than 5 stars ⭐️, I would!!!! Go check them out! You won’t be disappointed! I can’t wait to come back!
This restaurant is AMAZING!!! I was there for the first time today and even simple dishes like rice pudding and chicken shawarma were incredible! That was the best rice pudding Ive ever had in my life.... and Ive had a lot of rice pudding. I cant wait to try the rest of the menu and use their incredible catering service. EATING HERE MAY BE THE BEST DECISION YOU EVER MAKE.
Mr hummus is some of the best middle eastern food I’ve ever eaten. Everyone who works here seems like they like working there and just being in the restaurant is such a pleasant experience. The service is amazing and kind and welcoming and the restaurant is bright and warm and beautiful. The shawarma is amazing and their desserts are also amazing. The shish kebab is also amazing. I highly recommend eating here
Great service. We came in at a very busy time and the server was very honest about timings and availability. They did their best to provide great service. The food was good. Portion sizes are smaller than I previously anticipated but the flavors were very good. Slightly more expensive than your usual Mediterranean fare but well worth it. Parking was not an issue either. May be best to reserve a table here.
Another delicious meal at this awesome establishment 😋. We are never disappointed when we visit!!! I tried something new tonight. I got the Lamb chops 😮😍😋. They were totally awesome, and my boyfriend got the Kafta Kabob which is Always delicious and seasoned so deliciously 😋. This is not a complaint, but a suggestion....I kind of would like to see some softer lighting so the restaurant would have a softer ambiance at dinner time. We love this place and will be back soon. I highly recommend this Grill ❤
I loved my experience tonight! It was only my second time trying it out but I enjoyed it even more than the first, which I might have to attribute to my server! Mackenzie was prompt, attentive, and fun. When she told me she was new I was astonished at how well she was taking care of us! Not to mention they have the best falafel in The Columbus area! Thank you to our sever, Mackenzie, and the rest of the team at Mr.Hummus Grill!
This was my first time there. Im gonna say Ive heard mixed reviews. Also, GLAD I GAVE IT A GO. I was impressed with the food. I got fries that were the perfect level of crispy. A bit of crunch. The server was wonderful and polite. I will be coming back. Good food, good staff. My only regret is that 8 wasnt aware of this place sooner.
Excellent!! Service was prompt and attentive. Waitress had a great attitude and was very helpful. We didn’t have to wait long for our food and it was delicious. The falafel is so good. Hummus is best I’ve ever had. We have went back many many times. I had a different dish each time and each have been delicious. I highly recommend trying this place out you won’t regret it!
Overall disappointed. Asked by the server whether we would like anything to drink other than water but provided no printed list of beers/wines, etc. Turns out they only have one beer (a pilsner type beer which was fine). The have wine but who knows what they actually have and what the prices are? Wife ordered a cab. Had a falafel appetizer which was overcooked and hard. Entrees were kafta kabob platter ($18) and chicken tawook platter ($16). Each came with a half lebanese salad. While the food was acceptable in terms of taste, though nothing special, my problem is that there wasnt nearly enough of it for the price. Each of us got six small pieces of meat. There was more salad (which is supposed to be the side dish) than there was the main course. Service was moderately inattentive and it took a long time to get the check although there was only about five tables occupied. Ended up being quite shocked at the price of the wine considering that this is not a high end restaurant (probably why they dont give you a list). Lastly, a 15% gratuity is automatically added even though we were a party of 2. While I would normally give at least 15% anyway, it is an extremely consumer-unfriendly practice and results in no motivation for staff to provide exceptional, or even the expected level of, service if gratuity is essentially guaranteed. I had been to this restaurant once before, although a while ago, and remember leaving with a much better impression. Since then something has gone terribly wrong. I cannot recommend when there are many other options for this type of cuisine in Columbus. Unfortunate since I was looking forward to their Italian Village location opening in the near future.
The lentil soup and salad were very tasty. The Aryan drink was fresh and the perfect blend of salted and sweet. The rice pudding was wretched. Not sure how you can screw that up. The baklava was dry and tasted old. Ill go back and see if it gets better but I was underwhelmed.
This is my favorite Mediterranean place in Columbus by far. Reasonable pricing and delicious food. The wait staff is friendly and warm. This is a family restaurant and I loved the fact that the whole family is there helping the staff and interacting with costumers. A little hidden gem. We’ll be back for sure!!!
This was the worst middle eastern food I have ever experienced. My Greek salad was overly vinegary. My husband red snapper was over cooked dry and flavorless. My daughter never even got her Chilean sea bass. The waitress disappeared and we didn’t see her again till everyone else was almost done with their dinners. I personally would have left maybe a 5% tip only because I and my daughter have waitresses in past lives and know one can have a bad day, however the waitress wrote in for herself a 15% tip. What a joke! We will never go back!
The chicken kebabs were my favorite. Loved the hummus and salad as well. The platter came with tahini and garlic sauce as well. On a Saturday night at 9pm it was not too busy. The service could improve with a bit more attention to filling up for water. The owner/manager was there and came by to see how the food was as well..
Very tasty and authentic! Huge portions, almost too big. The kibbeh was really delicious as they said it was home-made. The rice is made with chicken? broth and moist, rich. The meat is good especially the doner/kebabs. The muttabel/baba ghanosh and hummus were great. I will definitely go there again. At Bethel Centre.
Excellent quality and very authentic. I had the Shawarma Beef and Shawarma Chicken sandwiches with Tabouli salad. I would give them 9 out of 10 on the sandwiches. The flavor, correct amount of spices, tenderness of the meat, and all the add ons that should go on the shawarma sandwich, are all almost perfect. 9/10 only because I prefer my shawarma sandwich on pita bread and they only had Shrak bread. Its good but not my favorite, however having the choice on either or will seal the deal. Service, cleanliness of the place and professionalism are all excellent. I highly recommend and will go there again.
Very overpriced and nasty food! The chicken tasted microwaved, the grape leaves were old and almost rotten. The only good food was a few dips on a veggie platter but the portions were so small. They never even came to give us drinks or check on us. Also careful with tea. They were sloppy and spilled mine and a guest, when we drank the tea splattered our clothes, go to Aladdin or Mazah, 100% better.
This place was amazing. The staff was very friendly and it is very family oriented. I got the spicey potatoes as an appetizer and lamb shank special as my meal and it was amazing. The portions was good the meat was tender. It was on a bed of rice that was flavored perfectly. The veggies were so tender they melted in your mouth without being mushy and over cooked. I was there with ampsohio group but I would definitely be going back with my family.
Moved here from California and was seeking an authentic Lebanese restaurant in the Columbus area! Found this gem and was very satisfied with the food, service, and overall experience. Cleanliness and consistency are very important to me, and Mr. Hummus surpasses my expectations. Wonderful place to order some great food along with a glass of wine!
An average restaurant with average food and service. The food we thought was somewhat bland. The dining experience was not as expected - the server, the ambiance, and the feel of overall restaurant was blah. It felt like all servers working there were recently hired and had no idea what’s going on. Also, the first image that shows when searching for this restaurant is incorrect. Oh and I forgot to mention - they automatically charge 15% gratuity. There were only 2 of us there. That was bit annoying practice.
I was skeptical just because the shopping center isn’t so nice. First off, this place is CLEAN and the bathrooms spotless. A true sign of a professional establishment. This is a wonderful and authentic pleasant and beautiful restaurant. The olive oil and sun dried tomatoes and pita for a free appetizer was literally hard to stop eating, the hummus was of course good and very traditional. I had the falafel which was wonderful and some schwarma beef. Very pleased with everything. Oh and I had the rice pudding with rose water, what a unique flavor! Wow!
Hands down THE best Lebanese food I’ve ever had! And overall one of the best dining experiences! The place is gorgeous, the staff is awesome and this food is just unreal. Probably the best mushroom soup ever...definitely the best Lentil soup ever. Shish kabob platter BOMB!! As was the chicken dinner. Oh and the secret recipe avocado sauce...??? What?!! Seriously incredible! And the owner is one of the most sweetest people I’ve ever met. Everyone HAS to go eat here!!!!
I ordered beef shawarma for take out. Definitely NOT WORTH THE HIGH PRICE.Quality of food was very underwhelming and dry with little flavor in the beef. I also expected the shawarma to come with hummus and pita, as most mediterranean places include. The salad was good though. Will not be coming back.
“Mr Hummus Grill” is as delicious authentic Lebanese Mediteranean as it gets. The choices are excellent, the portions are filling and the cost is very reasonable. The service is great, and the place is welcoming clean and spacious. The only drawback my friends and I have is the lack of alcoholic beverages which they say they are working on securing the license. Nonetheless, the food is what we are there for!!
Absolutely best Arabic food in town, reminds me of home. Food is authentic, full of flavor, and consistently amazing quality. The owner Tareq is very personable, cooks with passion. Makes sure that every detail in our experience is perfect. I cater from there often, and recommend it to my friends. You can not go wrong with Mr. Hummus, everything on the menu is phenomenal. The beef shawarma is probably the best I have ever had, beats the one in the Middle East.
No hummus at Mr hummus.I visited here in 2018 when we heard they served knefe.the knefe was and still is good. We visited Sunday the 10th 2021 at 5:30 To try the food this time. The place was empty!! So we decided to eat inside. The portions were very small one, only one , skewer of Kafta served on an appetizer rectangular plate. with a side of salad ,sauce and bread for 17.95 . No hummus dip included to dip your Kafta in. Kafta is the cheapest food to make. It is basicaly hamberger meat mixed with parsley, onion and spices. My wife ordered the chicken Shawarma. Same thing ,small portion of chicken ,grilled with ok spices , slightly resembles an authentic chicken Shawarma. We are in our sixties and we usually share a plate and an appetizer. I left hungry and to my surprise ,my wife finnished her plate. The reastaurant is elegant. The nicely decorated setting does not match the impression the name gives. With good service and ok food, Small portions, overpriced menu and no choice on the tip, 15% added. So if you are thinking of coming here, and perhaps you want to, eat something before you come , and plan to spend some money.
This food was absolutely delicious! Im usually a tough customer with regard to Mediterranean cuisine, but it was incredible! The roasted chicken was so tender, and the baba ganouj was the best Ive had apart from my own mothers! Absolutely recommend and will be returning, hopefully leaving room for dessert too!
Hayley was very accommodating to us sitting outside. We ordered the kibbeh as an appetizer. For our entree we ordered the red snapper, as it was personally suggested by the chef. The fish was was cooked to perfection, tasty and succulent. The rice was just as delicious.Thank you for such a personable experience and I am looking forward to our next visit!
Mr Hummus catered an event for 150 people and all of our guests raved about the amazing quality of the food and presentation. The chicken kabob was tender and melted in your mouth. The beef kebab was flavorful and tabouleh and hummus kept us wanting more. The owner reached out to me to make sure everything was perfect
We just moved to the neighborhood and were delighted to find this restaurant! We have ordered from there three times and the food is always perfect. I highly recommend them and will be taking friends there when they visit. I cant recommend the batata harra enough, so great! We have also had their hummus, falafel and my sig other speaks highly of the chicken. Fab find if you are trying to feed a mix of vegetarians and meat eeaters, both will be happy!
Convenient location. Food was absolutely delicious as expected. Reasonable prices for the quality of ingredients. The service was excellent. Came with my friends from school, and we had appetizers, sandwiches, and dessert. Loved it! Definitely coming back with family!
If you’re looking for great Middle Eastern food in Columbus Ohio this is the place. My kids enjoyed the shawarma. I ordered the grilled whole fish and it’s the best fish I had in Columbus. My wife got the vegetarian grilled veggies and she loved it. The flavor and spices like no other place unless you go to Lebanon. We definitely found ourselves a new place to take the family.Keep up the great service and great food. Will be back soon.
We recently held a student organization event at Mr Hummus Grill. The food was great and by far the most authentic (and tastiest) Lebanese food I have had in Ohio. The falafel was just amazing. They also have great smoothies. The owners were very welcoming and made sure that we had enough space for our event. I cant wait to go back there again!
This was the best Middle Eastern food I have ever had in America. It taste just like you are back at home in Lebanon. I cant wait to go back to eat again. I was so lucky to be there at the time of the grand opening. Everything taste perfect, great service, amazing staff, and a wonderful welcoming owner.
Such a great restaurant with fantastic food and Courteous employees. I really enjoyed every bite of my food. I ordered shish kabab platter and it was so tender, perfectly cooked and delicious.I will be back and bring all of my family member to taste your awesome food. Well done Mr. Hummus team.
Nice waiter but the food was HORRIBLE bland, noo flavor at all! We were surprised by their 15% gratuity each person was charged which we were never told but we didnt read the sign since we were rushing to get food before the placed closed.it was my birthday dinner for 5... No im sorry let me fix it did we want to try something else.. No bad experience ID rather eat paper with salt on it!
I recently spent a semester in Jordan, and I can say for a fact that this is the best Middle Eastern cuisine I have eaten since returning to America. I would highly recommend the lemon-mint smoothie, as this is a staple in the Middle East and was perfectly done at Mr. Hummus. All of the food was fantastic, and the hummus lives up to the restaurants name :) Additionally, the service was quick, friendly and attentive. The owner of Mr. Hummus himself came over and checked on us many times throughout our meal. I highly recommend!
Not bad! Wouldnt be my first pick for a middle eastern restaurant but hey some things werent bad. We ordered sandwiches and a party plate. Kinda disappointed int the party plate that should feed over 5 people, not enough rice was served. The sandwiches and sides were good though!
Incredibly tasty, affordable and amazing in so many ways. In the strange strip mall is this diamond in the rough from the beautiful finish to some of the best Middle Eastern food in all of Columbus. Everything is homemade and from recipes and whenever I bring friends into it, they are amazed by the quality. You cant miss it.
We heard about this restaurant from a friend of ours , we decided to make a trip from Cincinnati to try it.It was AMAZING best Mideranian Lebanese food I’ve ever had!Service was GREAT!Love it!!!We will be making the trip in 2 weeks with Bunsh of our friends again!I highly recommend it!
Great food! But the service felt weird. I’ve been here multiple times but during this visit the waitress included a 15% gratuity after she took my cash. We had no idea that it was included and I was going to tip anyway. She didn’t even bring the receipt and just said she forgot to say something about it.
Pot of tea tasted like nothing- hot water. Please get better tea. Stop using tea bags.Salad (fattoush) lacked salt and lemon. Bland.Tabouli also lacked zest. Come on man.The grape leaves 100% came out of a can.Food is expensive for the price & quality. In the end, they add the tip to your bill. Why do this? Especially for a couple & not a large group of ppl where it’s more common for that practice.Sad excuse of an Arabic restaurant.
Such amazing people! They donated to our amazing organization here are The Ohio State University -- Arab Dental Society. The food is amazing, I come from a Mediterranean background and can say this is the best food Ive had and closest to my moms dishes! I will be back for more. Thank you so much!
Food was good. I have had better Mediterranean food in some other restaurants in Columbus though. I didnt expect French Fries in a a Kebab platter (since when fries became a Mediterranean dish ?!). We were told that they ran out of Baklava. Though we got disappointed, we ordered Cheese cake and Mango Smoothie, only to be notified 5 minutes later that they ran out of Mango Smoothie too. (There were only 4 more people in the restaurant). To my surprise, I was automatically charged 20% gratuity without my permission. In the past 20 years of living in Columbus, I had never experienced this. I always pay gratuity as it is etiquette, but never been forced.
My family and I recently ate at Mr Hummus Grill. The food was DELICIOUS! We almost did not go based on the name and the photos. It looked liked it was a place where you order at the counter and that the atmosphere was not so great. Not so...The atmosphere was very nice, with beautiful woodwork and photos of Beirut and other parts of Lebanon hanging on the walls. The waitress was very friendly, welcoming and helpful and the chef came to check on us at the end of the meal. The food was DELICIOUS! First they bring you warm pita with a sun dried tomato olive oil dipping sauce. Then we ordered a variety of dishes including the vegetarian grape leaves, the fried cauliflower, chicken tawook, Kafka kabob, and beef shish kebab and a side of fries. These came with rice, veggies and sauces, including tahini sauce and garlic sauce. Everything was delicious! (Though everyone else liked the rice, I would have preferred something plain or seasoned differently. Otherwise the meal was wonderful.) I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for good Lebanese or Mediterranean food in general. The food was like homemade and the atmosphere was warm and homey as well.
Went to the Grand opening today. Let me start off by saying “DELICIOUS”. Owners are very friendly. We got Several different platters and each one tasted better than the other. I could seriously eat the rice by its self, that is how tasty it was. Definetly a 5 star rating. Will refer to all my family and friends.
Tarek is amazing! I talked to him few month before our wedding and he said that he will take a wonderful care of us. Food at our wedding was amazing! Everyone ate so much and we had so much left over and even now 2 month after the wedding when I meet my guests they tell me how amazing the food was. Thank you Tarek!
Tarek’s restaurant is simply wonderful. Perfection. The food is fresh like it is as made right before coming to the table. The service is personal which is always a plus. And it to me was above an outstanding experience. I will definitely be recommending this restaurant and cannot wait to go back.
Very fresh and delicious. Right in the heart of Bethel Rd at Bethel Center Mall. First time dining here, so ordered the mixed grill platter for two for $44.95. The amount can actually feed three. We got to try two types of chicken kebab, beef shawarma, and lamb kebab. The chicken kebabs were my favorite.
Mr hummus grill generously catered to our school’s new arab organization and it was outstanding! All the students were talking about how delicious everything was! The beef and chicken kabobs are so tasty, the rice, the hummus! It was all so delicious. Thank you so much for gifting all the wonderful food to us! Some classmates and I will be returning soon for my favorite which is the chicken tabouli salad.
Lamb special was warmed up not freshly cooked, chicken shawarma was super dry and overpowered with garlic powder sauce. Beef shish kabob was great but 16 bucks and only got four small chunks with a cup of rice and small pile of veggies. Hummus appetizer had no flavor and came with small chunks of stale pita bread. The staff was nice! I would not go here again if I was paid to do so. It may have been good in the past or the reviews may have been lobbied for. Buyer beware.
Amazing experience, great food prepared beautifully, very friendly staff, all in all best place Ive eaten in columbus. Stopped in for lunch and got a bunch of appetizers with a guava smoothie and an avocado juice to share and they all came out looking like they could be on an ad. The avocado juice was perfectly balanced a wonderful semi-sweet beverage and the smoothie was unparalleled. Ive never been to a Lebanese establishment, and this one has set the bar very high because everything was delicious! Will definitely be back, I recommend everyone try it at least once!
My daughter and I went to Mr. Hummus June 21 and could not say enough about great service, great food, and great atmosphere. Unfortunately my daughter and her fiance went back June 29 to celebrate her trip to Kenya and it was a completely different experience. While still great service and atmosphere the food was awful. Unfortunately they both fell sick that night and now my daughter is traveling 24 hours sick.
The service at Me Hummus grill is great. My friends and I really love the chilli oil dip served with the outage breads. The menu has several good options but my personal favorites are their lamb dishes. They have also recently started serving wines, I like the Lebanese Rose!
Best Lebanese food in Columbus! The hummus and tabouli salad are the best I’ve ever had! My favorites so far are the chicken shawarma sandwich and the chicken tawook platter. Great for family’s as there is a kids menu, yummy smoothies, and platters to feed large groups. As well as couples with the extensive wine selection and many different kinds of teas and coffee! Can’t wait to try more of the menu! Friendly staff and great atmosphere, always served promptly and overall a wonderful dining experience
Absolute the best staff. Not to mention the food.. Its a must!!!! Perfect for family and friends and business meetings. Why not indulge in great food, customer service while meeting with your peers. Highly recommended... UPSCALE for a reasonable price... Staff are beautiful
Hands down the best Mediterranean restaurant in Columbus, Ohio, Mr. Hummus knocks it out of the park! I cant recommend this gem enough. You will remark on how fresh the food looks. Everything appears made in house and tastes to be, too. The felafel is perfection. The kibbeh is mouth-watering. Order the hummus and mujadara. The staff is super accommodating, attentive, and just generally on top of it. You will not be disappointed.
This restaurant has replaced Shish Kabob and seems to have kept most of the decor. Other than that, though, Mr. Hummus Grill is very distinct from Shish Kabob. The menu is pretty different now. There seems to be more of an American fusion feel, with sandwiches and fries and things. I ordered mujadara and was a bit underwhelmed. The rice and lentils were dry and clumpy and not very flavorful. The price seemed appropriate for the volume of food, though. And my companions did like what they got, aside from the baba ganoush, which was not great. All in all, the service was good. There werent many people in the restaurant, but it was a Wednesday. Time will tell if Mr. Hummus makes the cut!
Service is very slow, but it’s understandable being that the place is still new. My bad review is mainly about their food. My wife and i had ordered two kabob platters, hummus, sausages , arugula salad and falafel .We sat down and started off with two cups of water that were extremely dirty and smelled bad. We then got pita bread way before the hummus came out, which was very stale and cold. The hummus was not smooth and creamy like we were use to eating. 25 minutes later we got the kabobs; they had no flavor and they came with no sauces; also we were never asked how we wanted our meat cooked; the kabob my wife got was very rare, she couldn’t finish it. We would have asked them to make another one but we didn’t want to wait another 30 minutes . The rice was very bland and cold. The only thing we enjoyed were the sausages and arugula salad, which were both very tasty. As far as the falafel they never brought them out, so we ended canceling them. I see them having potential i guess, but our first impression of the place was pretty bad.
My family had to wait over an hour to be seated, when there were plenty of tables available. The quantity and quality of the food was just awful. All of our soups were served cold. The pricing of the food was expensive. Horrible customer service. I would strongly not recommend this place.
This once popular food-truck has moved into the former location of the now defunct Sheesh Kabab restaurant, and chef/owner Tarek seems to have found a nice home. Its a great location in the Bethel Rd food scene with already plenty of international food options. But the grub here is tasty and stands tall. They have a large menu with something for everyone. We went as a group and tried a wide variety of appetizers and entrees. Not everything was excellent but most items came out great. Besides the spicy cauliflower, the fried eggplant, and even the hummus, everything else we tried was standout. The platter with swharmas and kebabs is a must-try if you have a big group. The service was great and the setting is lovely for a group or nice evening out, and parking should not be an issue in this plaza venue.
We went on a quiet Monday night and thoroughly enjoyed this place! Clearly family owned with a lot of care. We shared a bunch of appetizers for dinner: baba ghanoush, falafel, makanek (sausage), and cheesy fatayer. Everything was fantastic, and the entrees at other tables looked tasty too. Service was very attentive and friendly. Very nice patio as well!
Me and my friend had iftar there today we had kefta kabob, rice, desserts and caramel lattes it was authentic and delicious😋😋😋😋 the service was good and quick. The owner was super nice and friendly he gave us dates and water to break our fast and place in the back to pray maqrib. Thank you! We will be back for another visit.
I had heard nothing but excellent things about this restaurant. It was rated by family and friends as the absolute best middle eastern restaurant you could find in Ohio. Except Im starting to think maybe there is another location. 1 star is too much for this place and Ill explain why. The first star was lost when we waited by the door to be seated, not greeted and when finally acknowledged we were waved back to a booth. Literally she waved her fingers at us to follow. The second star was lost when our host/server disappeared literally saying nothing else. 17 minutes later, after looking back and forward at all the servers trying to grab anyones attention, I catch one guy servers attention. He comes over and I tell him its been 17 minutes of my husband and I staring at each other, can we get something to drink? His reply youd assume would be, Sorry, Im on it! Actually dont even apologize, just tell me our drinks are on the way. But no! The guy says, You dont need to be loud! Just say you want your drink! The third star was lost here. Did I mention we had water the whole time but no straws? Was I supposed to put my mouth on the glass? However my husband insisted wed heard too many good things to give up on this restaurant that fast. Lets try the food he insisted. We had order 2 sandwiches with 2 appetizers as side dishes. You would assume that all the food would come out at once right? Wrong! My husbands food came out first of course because I was loud while asking for the drinks. We had a total of 4 servers, just randomly appearing. The fourth star flew out the window when the guy who snapped at me stood next to us and told another server to keep checking on us every time he walked past. Next and not last was my ultimate favorite. One of the many servers finally brings my food, of course it was the wrong sandwich and as soon as she put it down she says thats not mine and switches it out. All could have been forgiven except when the bill was presented to my husband, a 15% gratuity was already added to the total. How do you force someone to tip for horrible service? The restaurant was not crowded, the tables surrounding us were empty so dont tell me they were busy and thats their excuse for this kind of behavior. I must say that the server who was rude was a foreign man. Should we blame the foreign male mentality? If my husband had complained about the drinks, foreign man to foreign man, would this have gone better? Maybe because a foreign woman told a foreign man how to do his job it hurt his feelings. Make customer service great again!
This is my third time here in the last couple of weeks. The food is great, I especially love their shawarma with both the chicken and the beef varieties the best in town. The garlic and the tahini sauce likewise great. A nice patio, good service and a smiling attentive owner complete this wonderful addition to Columbuss middle eastern restaurants. The falafel are the wonderfully green, Palestinian style ones (previously they were the Lebanese style which are almost . Great Hummus, lentil soup, kibbie and kebab. The fattet Hummus is the best around and is served piping hot as it should be.
Lamb shank and rice were very good. Poor quality beef on the beef shish kebab platter. The ground lamb in the Kafta sandwich was unidentifiable as lamb, the predominant flavor was kind of vinegary. Beef sandwich was very plain-tasting. Fries were krinkle-cut straight out of a freezer bag. From the unpleasant odor, the servers hygiene may have been lacking. We wont be back.
I felt like the price was too high compared to quantity. Food was okay, complimentary pita they serve is really good but the oil they kept on the table was smelling bad( of course it tested bad too)- I think they kept it for too long. I would prefer Istanbul cafe over Mr. Hummus Grill for dinner.
Earlier this week I hosted a multicultural program that was centered on different foods. Wanting to represent the middle east, I set out to find a restuarant that could cater to the event, and thats where I found Mr. Hummus Grill. The staff was sooo helpful and accommodating for the event despite having given them a short heads up. I really appreciated everything that they did for me and also THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! It was easily the most popular food at the event and I had many people asking me afterwards for the name of the place. Definitely going back very soon (:

2022-03-10We ordered a seafood dinner the day before, and we picked it up the next day. The fish was perfectly cooked, the shrimp was nicely seasoned, and the salads were delicious. The Mediterranean pickles were a nice add. The packaging was great and communication was easy. Totally recommend!

2022-03-06Food is good however I feel that the price is too high for what comes with the plate. I like the service though, quick and gives tips and recommendations. I scored it a 3/5 because I probably wont be repeating here because of what it costs for what you are getting.

2022-05-16This is one of the best Mediterranean restaurants in Columbus. As someone who grew up in a predominantly Iranian neighborhood, and someone who grew up eating at multiple Armenian, Persian, Lebanese, other Arabic restaurants in Los Angeles, I finally found a place in Columbus that serves well-seasoned and well-portioned Mediterranean food.Seriously, something about Bethel Road brings ethnic food to the level it needs to be. A lot of the other restaurants in Columbus are very toned-down and Americanized. My previous favorite for Mediterranean was Cafe Istanbul by the river, but their rice is unironically, very white and plain. We ordered the family combo platter for 3-4 people, and as a Mexican family who eats in feasts, we still had food leftover for the next 2 days. Im from a big city with lots of ethnic cuisine options, and even though Ive been frequently disappointed by the quality and authenticity of food in Columbus, Bethel road has shown me some of the best ethnic options in the city.Dont sleep on this place!

2021-08-03If you are in Northwest Columbus Ohio and you want to try some very good Lebanese/Mediterranean food you got to drop in on Mr. hummus grill. This stop off and flavor town is probably for an upscale lunch or dinner. This is not a fast food restaurant as you can see from the pictures it’s classy through and through and it has very nice jazz music playing.Take a note write this down the servings are very large they do go along with a little bit higher in on the price scale but they are worth it because they’re delicious and enormous. The owner is also the executive chef very nice fellow happy to give you any recommendations on all of that food and will give you his own personal guarantee that if you don’t like it he will take it back in person and replace it with something else.Got to give this place a five out of five on the fantastic food scale

2022-01-18Went for lunch and it had so few people. I dont know why because the good was amazing as well as the service. Plus the place is gorgeous inside. Well worth it to come here. I always get lamb at Mediterranean places because they are so good at cooking it and this place delivered well.
