I was trying to reestablish as a patient after living elsewhere for a time and needed to know the name of the provider I saw. When I spoke to a lady in the medical records she was very rude and was unable to cope with her computer loading or freezing for a few moments without becoming very expressively frustrated with the situation toward me and reminding me that it was “so close to being closed” and overall seeming put out for my request. The final straw was her response being “of course” after being asked my last name and it being a common one. I hung up. If I had her name I would file a complaint with the hospital.
SEPTEMBER 5TH 2019 MY SON GOT SHOT AND TAKEN TO THIS HOSPITAL AND WHEN I ARRIVED THEY KEPT TELLING THEY DIDNT HAVE MY SON Trevel Ronbertson BODY THERE THEY LIED AND KEPT GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND AND SENDING ME TO DIFFERENT PARTS OF HOSPITAL. I USE TO LUV THIS HOSPITAL ALL THE Daughters KIDS WAS DELIVER HERE. NOW I DISLIKE THIS PLACE VERY MUCH. Christian hospital RIGHT! 0 🌟 FOR REAL. HOPE YAWL REMEMBER MY SON NAME BUT I KNOW YAWL DONT.
Not a good experience for labor and delivery. They poked my arms 7 times to get the IV in, one nurse hit my nerves when trying. Once I had the baby and was moved to the maternity ward they didnt tell me much and came in every hour to take vitals of me or baby. We couldnt get any sleep. Never got a sitz bath and the food was awful. Anytime I called the front desk for my nurse, the lady sounded annoyed and would say in a snotty tone can I help you? Not a very good place to have my first baby.
Love the nurses!! I am curious as to why a CT scan has not been completed on my son pot report of multiple seizures while on antipsychotics however. He stopped his antipsychotic medication due to out the blue falling out and busting his head on the ground, with one incident requiring staples. Lindsey at Mount Carmel East just informed at 9:00am no CT was completed, he remains in ER, they had to call “security” on a known mental health paranoid scizhophrenic with multiple syncope episodes resulting in seizure. Lindsey stated oddly no CT has been completed but he is being sent to MOUNT CARMEL BEHAVIORAL at 1300. Looking at their reviews, they are all one. Looks like once again HHS-CMS may need to be on stand by for less quality approach to care. The goal is and should always be best practice approach to care relative to promotion of health/wellness, risk of complication to optimize patient outcomes. I will in fact ensure each and every person or entity involved in the loop of care with my son in unstable this. One hospital has been sanctioned by CMS already for what I pray is not the same disregard for patient rights and access to quality healthcare. Lindsey noted she will put a note in to the practitioner
This place is not a good place to work. I was hired by Mount Carmel East and had to quit after three weeks of my job because I wasn’t getting 40 hours a week. Other companies are far better because once you’re hired, most of the companies do guarantee 40 hours a week. I talked to HR about the issue but one of the HR representatives said that it was not a question that I supposed to take it over them for discussion. I’m never gonna go to mount Carmel for seeking a job nor I’m gonna take my family members there for treatment!
I cannot say enough about the awesome doctors, nurses, and staff at Mount Carmel East Hospital. My father was rushed to the hospital from Lancaster while I was out of town. The ER doctor returned my call and was honest about his condition while being compassionate and understanding. He even told me several times to drive carefully. The entire staff on Floor 4M was absolutely dedicated to taking care of patients and checked on them on a regular basis to ensure they were comfortable. I would like to personally Thank the wonderful ER Doctor (I wish I could remember his name), the nurses, receptionist, and entire staff for the care they provided to my father and my family at a very difficult and stressful time.
Had surgery here and by far the worst experience Ive ever had. Nurses are very uncaring. Had numerous complications after surgery, called the doctors office left a message. Two days later still no return phone call. Called back and when they said they would transfer me yet again I said no Im talking to someone. They told me to come to mount carmel east emergency center because my surgical site had busted open. So I drive 2 hours to be seen. I am now sitting in a dirty emergency room with an open wound around numerous of sick people. Ive been sitting here for 4 hours now probably catching a infection. I asked how much longer and the mouth of the people that work behind the desk are complete disrespectful. My advise go elsewhere.
Growing up on the east side Mount Carmel East (Part of Trinity Health) USED to be the place to go for emergency care or other health care needs. Now, its the place to avoid. Botched surgeries, lack of compassion with staff members, billing errors costing seniors hundreds if not thousands of dollars..NO thanks. When you call a hospital to retrieve medical records and the automated system has a prompt for attorneys you know youre at the wrong place. If youre a senior Id choose a Medicare Advantage plan other than Medigold so youre not stuck in the Mount Carmel Health System. I wont allow my family or loved ones to get near this place until they make some significant changes that truly align with their core values of dignity, improving health, and compassion. Sadly, if you search on Trinity Health Violation Tracker youll see why this place is falling apart. Theyve paid hundreds of millions of dollars for multiple violations related to False Claims and millions more for employee related wage and benefit plan violations. When Trinity Health Leadership starts taking care of their employees maybe theyll take better care of their patients (customers) who are paying them to do so. Ive spoken to a few employees whove been there for decades, close to retirement, who cant wait to get out of there. Hopefully, things will get better. Fortunately, there are some options now in the New Albany area for care.
Had to take mom to ER. She was in ER for 27 hour. Not once did they offer my mom some food or drink. No she was not on food restriction. They ER nurses are a joke and unethical. The ER Tech walking in patients room touching everything with no gloves! The Nurses attitudes are disgusting! I was lucky my mom had her cell phone to call me and tell me they didnt put her call button near her bed and she has been waiting for help to go to the rest room. I had to call up there to tell them that my mom is back there and need help. They take forever to respond to the call lights.
On March 14th, 2020 I called a squad to my home as I was experiencing acute flu-like symptoms, ranging from fever to vomiting to extreme lung expulsion and hacking cough, among others. I was taken to Mt. Carmel West ER where I was left alone for over 60 minutes, except for a lady who came into the room and inserted two wooden swabs, one into each nostril. I was delirious and coughing and hacking to the point where I was rendered unconscious twice, pleading with staff for some kind of relief that persisted throughout the entire ordeal. I grew angry in my delirium and I was choking and begging and shouting expletives, as a result of that feverish hysteria. I was ultimately escorted out of the hospital exit by two heavily armed men, whom told me to never come back. I have since received a billing statement from Medicaid, and I have contacted several attorneys regarding this matter. I am still to this day experiencing complications from that visit. It took me two hours to walk home, and I passed out twice on the way. I will continue to contact attorneys until I can obtain a promise of a just and fair remedy, which includes summary dismissal of all Mt. Carmel staff on duty at that time, among other behests. I have repeatedly tried to contact Mt. Carmel and the Medicaid offices, and I am unable to obtain any help form those entities. All of the responding attorneys have stated that I have no recourse, and there that is nothing I can do but refuse service at Mt. Carmel.
I hope no one gets the nurse on 5. Hibo is her name. She walks around with her hands in her pockets. Is quite rude and has 0 yes zero patient empathy.Didn’t get anything to eat until everything was closed. I ate like warm tomato soup after fasting since midnight. Mind you it’s 6:30-7:45 at this point. Was not given any water until asked at 9:30.Very poor customer service. Asked for an aspirin for the lack of food headache and she left the doom saying she has to contact my doctor.
6 hours in a waiting room, one cotton swab up the nose, and it was $1000. I dont know if yall are just unbelievably greedy, or owe money to shady people. Either way, I rather would deal with a potentially lethal sickness myself and risk death, than sit in this hopped up money pit. Also shared a room with people with covid and it wasnt exactly spacious. Nurses are nice and do good, hard work and I appreciate them greatly. I hope they may find themselves great jobs in a less ethically grey hospital. Alright, have a good one everybody!
If you ever think to go to this hospital I think you should think twice before you go. I have had a very bad experience there. I went there with my mother who had weakness in her body and headache and we waited for 12 hours in the emergency room, jezzz! The nurse needs to learn how to communicate to its patients. I wish to give 0 star but there is no option for 0 .
My life has been saved twice, fifteen years apart, at this remarkable facility. The physicians are top-notch, the nursing staff is great, as are the PCAs. Second floor, Purple Tower, Shannon F., RN, was the best nurse I’ve ever had anywhere! We laughed and cried, she took incredible care of me and I know without doubt that she truly cared about me.The food though, it was pretty terrible. 🤣
I had my child there last month (March 2021) and I cant say enough good things about all the staff there. The nurses were great and professional. They took such a good care of me and my family there.I had an induction and the whole process took 20 hours and we had everything we need and they heard all my concernsI am not a white person. I wish we didnt live in a world where this matters but we know it is not the case so I want to let other people know that I didnt feel this matter at all on how I was treated there.
This hospital is horrible. Hands down the worst hospital in Columbus . STAY AWAY FROM HERE .My mom was in a car accident two weeks ago and broke her pelvis in 3 spots , she BEGGED them not to make her leave because of the pain and was immobile , they never even gave her an X-ray to see if her pelvis was broke !! She finally went to a hospital again last night because the pain was unbareable and JUST found out her pelvis is broken in THREE spots .Not to mention she had a collapsed lung and they told her it was pneumonia and sent her home .She had a cancerous tumor in her kidney and they gave her UTI medicine .DONT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL UNLESS YOU HAVE A DEATH WISH !!!!!
Was there on Monday and got a covid test done and then told me to go on the patient portal but it wont let me log in bc I never got a code qnd they only took my name and birthday so the people cant even help me over the phone and the ER nurses dont know what they qre doing
I called ahead to ask what building to go to for the radiology department. The person I spoke to seemed completely surprised by this question and told me to come to the hospital for the X-ray. Upon coming to the hospital and signing in, the intake desk workers wondered if at 5 I would need to wait until 7 to be seen, as neither of them had any idea when the radiology department would open nor apparently any means to discover this information.I just don’t think it’s asking very much for intake staff to be able to answer very basic questions like “when does the X-ray department open” or “is there a special building on your campus where x-rays are done?”No one has been rude, just inexcusably clueless about how their organization works.
Worst experience I ever had at any hospital! They don’t answer lights nor do they feed you! Nurse put me on bed pan but never came back to take me off when I requested, I waited an hour finally took myself off and fell on the floor still no one came or cared. When finally admitted to the upstairs they put me on a clear liquid diet waiting on a cat scan for two days!!! How do u starve someone that long? In all choose a different hospital, this one I highly do not recommend!
This hospital cant even afford to keep its equipment working. The nutritionist is rude, disrespectful and inconsiderate. This hospital laid off 1/3 of its staff and a few floors are closed. Now they complain their staff is over worked. The level of miscommunications and lack of co-ordination between staff and departments is the wont I have even seen anywhere. Makes you wonder and the quality of the doctors, specially since they cant even afford to keep working equipment or have backup equipment!Go somewhere else !!!!!
Ive had my 3 babies at Mount Carmel as well as have had several family members treated here. Every time the staff have been wonderful and weve gotten great care. Our needs and wishes were taken into consideration and I could tell everyone was working towards the same goal.
If there was a way you could choose zero stars then that is what I would pick for the service I was provided by Mount Carmel East. I went to see a vascular specialist (Dr. Kapil) three times and ended up never meeting the MD on any of the 3 visits. They pushed me towards testing and procedures, under false pretenses, that they told me would be beneficial to the health of my legs, only to then say that there was nothing that could be done. I spoke to 5 different people after I was sent a large bill, each of them said they would help me. None did. I was told it was in processing. I assumed to be reevaluated. I didnt hear back and now Im in collections. Remember - I didnt see the Doctor once! Dreadful care, dreadful customer service. Its too late for me - PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!
Very slow, family over 80 went in by squad 7 pm took 30 to 45 minutes for anyone to acknowledge they were there, satt in room. Some tests done then 6 hours later the want to admit because they want more tests that cant be done until morning? 7.5 hours later still waiting on a room, rang buzzer for a nurse took 20 to 25 minutes to answer it,! What kind of care is my family going to get here? Ridiculous! Being ignored because of age? No urgency here not sure why these tests are being done now!
I went in ER for abdominal pain that was excruciating and diarrhea . Couldn’t make it farther to OSU or Grant with the constant diarrhea . Went in about close to 9pm was in a Er room I believe aft 1140 something . Had to remind them to test my urine sample. Only because it had been sitting for over an hour it took me forever to push the little I did push out. I did inform them I had not peed for 2 days . I got one bag of fluids and pain med that did put me at comfortable level. But around 3 am started feeling pain again they said hold on they’d bring pain killers . I think close to 4 20 I called nurse to remind him of pain meds. Finally he came I waited for discharge papers and I asked for pain med !! He said oh ya let go grab it - gave me a pill. I asked in my prescription will there be pain meds? He said yes and an antibiotic I waited for papers left. Exhausted I got home to sleep . In the morning noticed they didn’t give me a prescription for pain and I was feeling pain already. Called Er they said you ll have to be seen again and tell them about the pain . I said I was seen last night they knew about the pain - frustrated and in pain I went in to Er and there was told I’d have to wait about 6 hrs. And be readmitted again. Any way walked out of Er today upset and just can’t believe that this was their way of handling things , what a shame.
I had my first and second babies here. The doctors, nurses, and office staff were all AMAZING. This poor review and long explanation is ONLY to knock the board of directors and bishop in control of approving or denying tubal ligation requests. I feel bad only giving 3 stars but if youre looking for prenatal care and want your tubes tied after - save yourself from undue stress and consider other options.Their policy on this seems influenced by toxic masculinity and its a disgrace that an organization would use christianity as a scapegoat to hinder basic womens rights. In my application to get my tubes tied I cited my personal health issues and prior pregnancy complications. I also stated that my husband and I both only wanted two children and we were most comfortable financially providing for two children. My husband and I both signed off on my request. My request was then denied by the board...Being that I was already very comfortable with my doctor - she had done my first cesarean, was familiar with what was going on in my pregnancy this far, and that we are in the middle of a pandemic - it wasnt an easy decision but I decided not to switch health care providers mid-pregnancy after my application was denied. My husband or I will end up going elsewhere for permanent birth control surgery but its a shame that they denied allowing it to be done during my 2nd cesarean. Any woman knows that a womans body goes through so much to bring a child into the world. Why should I have to do an additional surgery to have this done? The number of children she wants to have should be her decision. The quality of life that a parent is able to provide for their children should be valued higher than the quantity of children a woman pushes out. Shocked that even with the complications that I faced and valid reasoning, my request to have my tubes tied and prevent anymore potentially risky pregnancies was denied by the board.I dont expect the policy to change for the better but hopefully more is done in the future to clearly communicate this policy as a disclaimer BEFORE accepting new patients and scheduling womans first prenatal care appointment. That being said, if tubal ligation is not something you are wanting done, I would say they are still a good option based on the doctors and staff. 👍
For a simple walk-in lab test.1. Have to check in at a desk with all the other medical procedures such as colonoscopy etc..2. Sit and wait to be call to check-in with a registry3. 30-40 minutes later called to simply check in with a medical register.4. Told to go back to the lab area and sit and wait for another 30-40 minutes. This is the MOST inefficient lab/hospital i have ever visited. Seriously!! I was not there for a medial procedures. A simple blood draw for a simple test that i would have gotten anywhere else in 20 minutes top. This hospital took approximately 3 hours of my day!! Never ever again and will pass the word to anyone i know.. Mount Carmel fix this!!! I can understand if you are getting a medical procedure that you have to go through all that but for a simple blood draw!! 🤔
I brought my wife here for a painful leg abscess pimple …when the doc came in to see us he tried to basically downplay it saying it wasnt anything serious. And when we tried to explain he cut us off. He also rudely said if we wanted we can leave and get another doctors opinion. So we left to OHiO health urgent care where they cut the abcess open and cleaned it…and prescribed antibiotics. Several days later the hospital called and said that my wife had a mrsa bacteria. Which could have travelled to other parts of the body potentially life threatening if we had hadnt acted fast.
Absolutely garbage! How can one go for emergency situation and have to wait 5 hrs? You check in twice. First to get in line then they call you in for personal information?!?! Like couldnt they have done it in the first place my sick fiancee had to walk in and back just to provide info while in so much pain. Something needs to be done at this place. They dont care about people except money. If there were -rating I would give it a negative rating.
Worse hospital we have ever been to!!! Staff is extremely rude, the Dr would not call us back even at the request of the patient advocate. I was given a code to call and check on my husband when I needed to, but when I called they hung up on me! Dr scheduled my husband for surgery, didnt tell him he was having surgery, much less what its for, no consent signed, NOTHING!!! we put the call light on, only to be ignored and the nurse shut it off from the nurses station. Hubby was here for 5 days and was never given a diagnosis or a care plan. during his hospital stay my hubby was never given his daily meds, such as insulin, heart meds etc.. his bedding was never changed at all the entire 5 days we were there! I absolutely do not recommend this hospital at all! Zero stars.

2022-03-22My 93-year old mother entered the hospital through emergency after passing out on the sofa and suffering abdominal pain. Mt Carmel is the closest so of course that were the technicians take her. Never again if I can help it. Several times my mother needed assistance to go to the bathroom and waited for 30-40 minutes for anyone could responded. The time I was there the same thing happened and the nurse attending was sitting at the reception desk laughing with the other ladies. She only has four patients to watch after. Mom was there for a day and after numerous tests the doc said there was nothing wrong. This is the 3rd visit here in three months. Same response each time no mater what the ailment. I said keep looking I am done wasting our time here. two days later they were still only guessing. Prior to release I asked for an evaluation for physical therapy. The evaluator came later that day, spent 30 minutes with her and informed us that she needed physical therapy for mobility and balance. I reiterated this to the patient advocate, the nurse and the doctor. I was told they would set it up and follow-up later. A week later, no calls. I left a message with the hospital physical therapy office. Three days later and they told me there was no record of the therapy. I called the nurse on that floor on that wing. No record. They said they could do nothing and told me to call her general practitioner. What the hell people. I am sure there are good people there. maybe some training is in order or maybe even supervision.

2022-01-31This place deserves ZERO stars. Worst I have ever encountered. My grandfather was there this month for 10 days and they traumatized this man. He was neglected!! He suffered a stroke and he lost most of his speech and had right side weakness. He tested positive for covid, asymptomatic, but of course the family couldnt see him. They didnt bath him until the 10th day, when he was transferring to a rehab facility. The nurses wouldnt answer his call light, or just shut it off. Sometimes they tried to understand what he wanted, but if they couldnt, just left him. They once sat him in a chair for 3 hours, and wouldnt answer his call light or he didnt have it. Didnt get the therapy he needed to help his recovery. We feel they took total advantage of him not being able to talk or have visitors. This is shameful and I dont know how these people sleep at night!

2022-01-06I called to get simple birth records in order to find my birth parents. Their operator was EXTREMELY rude, the supervisor was unprofessional, and the entire experience felt absolutely lazy… like I was doing them an injustice for a few pieces of paper to send me in the correct direction to reunite with family. Thank God I only needed records and not medical attention.. I can’t imagine how PUT OUT they would be if they ACTUALLY had to do some work. LAZY. UNPROFESSIONAL A SHAME TO THEIR FIELD OF MEDICINE. A life was born in your building and you have no record of it?!! I discourage anyone from this establishment. I certainly will not be bringing any of my family members here.. alive or dead. Apparently records only last a month. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES, Mt Carmel.. I’ve had 4 generations of my adopted family put their faith in you, but CLEARLY you have hired different staffing since then. Shanissha should go back to college and obtain her CUSTOMER SERVICE degree. Your staffing is uneducated and unprofessional. A disgust to REAL NURSES

2022-03-24Very disappointed with visitation rules at this hospital. My daughter had our first grandchild so my wife and I want to see him, and we were told only one of us to visit since my daughter’s husband is considered a guest . I got left in the waiting room.To make matters worse. The guest have to remain the same through my daughters stay. This policy is ridiculous and insensitive. .I understand the need to reduce the spread of Covid-19 but I don’t understand how I am let up to 4th floor, but not the few feet to see my grandchild. Not even a window to get a view!

2022-01-26Mount Carmel East Hospital is a full service hospital complete with an advanced Emergency Department, and Cardiac Catheterization Lab.I truly wish I could give this place a higher rating, but there is such a high level of “kick-the-dog” mentality and scapegoating among the staff, that it undermines public confidence in their ability to provide expert, high quality patient care.Very sad… everyone seems to be so stressed, that they try to make the lives of those below them worse and more stressful and miserable than their own. Very unhealthy environment.I’ve never worked there, but have witnessed it on repeated occasions.

2022-06-07I went in with pain in my chest, back, shoulder, neck, and arm on my left side. Emergency room was quick and efficient did an ekg, chest X-ray, called for a stroke consultant to check for that with a CT scan and an MRI.I did ask in the ER about papers for medical assistance through HCAP and told I would receive them but that never happened I asked about them when I was released but was told that social service doesnt work on the weekend When they couldnt find anything they made me go through another X-ray of my left shoulder another CT of my neck and another MRI of my neck and spine. I repeatedly told them I was not a diabetic but they continued to do finger sticks and having insulin ready, to no avail, because my blood sugar results were always normal. I am guessing so that they could just charge me more money. They tried to give me laxitives when constipation was never an issue, They told me on my second day that I should be able to leave after my echocardiogram and second MRI but I didnt get the MRI until after 8:30PM so I had to spend another night to wait for the doctor who was not pleasant and didnt even look me in the eye who told me they found nothing heres some oxycodone for you to take at home. The technicians, transports, most of nurses, and the neurologist were very nice although a few of them need lessons in drawing blood. That is why I gave it a 2. My bed was never changed and I was never just given a clean gown.

2022-07-11Hands down this place is the WORSE hospital in Columbus. I have stomach ulcer, after a few days in the hospital i started feelin a little better but then another day pass and i started getting unbearable pain again, so i tell the nurse shes in the hallway telling other nurses that she thought i was lying and i overhear it. I talk to nurse in charge didnt get anywhere she was just as bad as the other nurses and my doctor was told by the nurses i seemed fine. The doctor totally ignores me. They had to transfer me to Mount carmel West for a different issue and never did ANYTHING about me saying im getting this unbearable pain. I get to Mount Carmel West and by the next morning i vomiting blood my pain was 10/10 and they do a few test and i had Peritonitis. I couldve died. I have a lot of respect for nurses i have a niece and daughter that are both nurses, and nurse save us, not the doctors, sometimes you dont see or talk to your doctor when your there for days. After that IDGAF if im dying no one is allowed to take me to Mount Carmel East. Worse part this wasnt the first time the misdiagnosed me. To be a nurse you have to care about people, yall swear to do no harm! Dont go here, dont take your kids or anyone you love!!

2022-05-10My elderly mother was transported from our local hospital to Mt Carmel due to a traumatic injury after she fell and suffered double jaw fractures. Nobody in our family was satisfied with the care she received. They gave her a turkey sandwich to eat with a broken jaw! A physician assistant told her that she wasn’t hurt bad enough to consider her fractures an emergency and sent her home Friday evening to wait until a plastic surgeon’s office would be open for an evaluation. Hustle may be gone but that hospital still has lots of problems. We will never go there again. I wish I could give a lower score than one star.

2022-03-23I wish I could give less then that. I wouldnt trust my dog. As a Nurse your job is caring. If you dont have that, they shouldnt be nurses. I wanted to cry to see how badly my friend was treated. Its sad to see my fellow nurses mistreated patients.

2022-04-11Trying to crucify a reputable doctor (Dr. William Husel) including release of an entire playbook *project lighthouse etc. Is disgusting at best. Doctor Husel gave the patients he treated the most dignity and comfort at end of life. Placing blame on a scapegoat to cover your behinds, you should be shut down.
