If I could give neg I so would if it wasnt for the price and they allow my dog I would never stay there. I was walked in on 2 times by housekeeping while I was in the bathroom. After telling them we didnt need service and yelled to come back. There was a jar of half eaten peanut butter left in our room one day while we were gone. And when we tried to show staff a broken fan they accused our dog of going on the floor because of a spot that wasnt cleaned before we were there. We had adjoining rooms and the poepl next to us checked in and were extremely load at 4am and I had to yell for them to be considerate of others sleeping. Due to the desk staff doing nothing about it. I wish there were toger places that allowed pets so I didnt always have to stay there
Stayed here for two nights. I would give the establishment itself 1 star, but the reception staff were friendly so Ill give them credit for that. The whole place smelled pretty strongly of cigarette smoke. My room was not as bad thankfully, but the odor was still there. If I was someone who was sensitive to that kind of smell it probably would have been a much bigger deal.My room was not entirely clean when I first walked in as there was a dirty sock in the tub. As well as this, I saw numerous ants crawling around in my room the entire time I stayed. Thankfully, however, I didnt see any bed bugs or get any bites. The shower water, for whatever reason, would sometimes just randomly change temperature and I would have to jiggle the handle to reset it. Also the walls were very thin and I heard a lot of neighborly noise. Overall, not a very quality experience.I get that there are motels out there that are like this with the flipside being that theyre very affordable and cheap, however this place was still about $60 a night, and I do not at all feel that the quality of my stay was worth that much. I think it is much closer to something like a $45/night establishment. If youre desperate for a place, this will work, but I would try to look elsewhere if possible. If youre arranging a stay in advance, I would personally advise against this specific motel. Thats my opinion.
If it hadnt been dark and us being so exhausted, I would have left as soon as we opened the lobby door! Wires hanging from the lobby ceiling should have been my first clue. The entire building is just worn out. Dirty carpeting, weird smells, sketchy folks hanging around, most of the vending machines and ice machines were broken. Got to the room, king-size bed with one regular size pillow and two children sized pillows. Burn holes in almost everything from the shower curtain to the sheets and drapes. Middle of the night people arguing in the hall, doors opening and closing. At 3am! Most disgusting place I have ever stayed in, should have slept in the car, but they had already billed our credit card.
From the phone calls i should have been warned about the staff, when i checked in the staff had an attitude. I went into the room and noticed it was too big for the very few furnishing. The lights are on a motion sensor which i get for eco reasons. The lights are not centered over the bed. The bed side tables dont have plug so no way to charge your device. The tv was from early 2000s. The wholes in the bathroom wall are just overwhelming, the tub didnt drain and they didnt provide shampoos just bar soap so i was stuck spending an extra 20$ on shampoo and conditioner. I come back into the area every month and i will avoid this location from now on.
So sad. Weve stayed here four times before. Yes, cigarette smoke smell is heavy in lobby but rooms were clean and staff was friendly. This trip, when we went to check in, my reservation had been canceled because my card was supposedly declined. They gave our room to someone else. No phone call, or email or text or given any option to rectify. We could have used another card while finding out what happened with the bank. Three hours from home and they left us high and dry.
I stayed here for 4 Days, and quite honestly it was not really a very good experience. The second night I was there I saw a Roach in my Room climbing up the Wall. On that same night my Toilet got stopped up I had plunged it for Hours, and still couldnt get it to go down. They had to move me to another Room after that. The next night I didnt have any Wash clothes in my Room so I went down to the service desk, and asked a Lady by the name of Michelle. Michelle was very rude, and unprofessional she got an attitude with me just because I was asking for Wash Clothes. Very unpleasant experience for me, and more than likely will not ever stay there again. The Lady Michelle doesnt need to be working with Customers with a Bad Attitude like that it makes People turn away from this Business.
Would not recommend unless you are okay with smelling cigarette smoke everywhere in the hotel and even in the nonsmoking area and rooms. We decided to leave after a few hours because the presence of cigarette odor is too strong. Also no soap in our room. I hope someone in management changes things around for this hotel.
I made this reservation at the last minute (one hour before arrival) and called the main reservation number. I didnt know the Toledo area at all so it didnt matter which motel (out of 3) I was placed in but the person I spoke with took great care to find me the motel that was closest to the state park I had tried to get a reservation at (they were full) and was going to stay at the following night. It turned out the motel was just three miles from the state park. She was so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The best experience Ive ever had making a reservation. Thank you!
Stay clear. Had reservation for $63 when I got there only room they were able to put me in was a smoking. Cheech and Chong would have left. Ripped bed cover. Huge room no furniture but the bed. Only non smoke room was Spa room $123. The shower was cold, the TV had 2 channels. And the Homeless in the bushes out back had better rooms.
I’ve stayed here a couple and the service and room quality was good for the price. Unfortunately, this evening we were told that our reservation was canceled due to a card decline. We live around 3 hours away and didn’t even receive a phone call or email notifying us that this had occurred. A system needs to be put in place to at least notify people if they’re reservation is going to canceled.
Positive: The staff was nice at least. Negative: Dirty bed sheets. Run Down overall. Smelled like cigarettes in a no smoking room. Heat was broken, no shampoo. There was yelling in the night that led to the police to arrest someone, homeless people in the parking lot. Not worth --$ more like --$
My box truck was being worked in the area and I had unfortunate luck of staying in this terrible establishment. At first, everything appears fine until you go to sleep wake up to use the restroom and step on roaches the size of mike n ike candies along your journey to get there. Pets running all up and down the hallway, cigarette burns and holes throughout everything. Linen was poorly washed. The night shift gentleman whose name begin with D had one of the worst attitudes I have ever encountered while dealing with customer service. Please do not patronize this motel until SERIOUS, DRASTIC noticeable changes are made or if you were as desperate as I was, even then you would be better off sleeping outside. This place is filthy and ran terribly. I checked out early and was scoffed at and belittled when I mentioned I desired a refund of some sort. Worst lodging experience ever!
Blood and burn holes on sheets and pillows, stains on walls from food or beverages, bathroom door was busted rendering it useless. Housekeeping doesn’t clean there’s degenerates and dope fiends running around the hallways and parking lot. The staff is rude , lazy ,uneducated unhygienic , uncooperative, uncouth and unwilling to perform the most basic functions of hotel management and customer service. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
I walk into the room I get a big whiff of smoke the comforters on the bed are ridden with blood stains and burn holes as well as the sheets I seen multiple roaches during my 3 day stay there as well the front desk is rude and no help i found cigarette ashes on the wall upon my inspection of the room what so ever I highly discourage anyone from getting a room here in the future.
The room was nice and large and generally clean, we had a king bed in ita microwave and mini-fridge, right from the start, it had a funky smell even though it was clean. It may have been residual smoke smell, but the smell never went away. If you have asthma Id be prepared with devices for it if you plan on staying here. Despite the smell, we had our cat stay with us, we cleaned her litter everyday, and that was not the cause of the smell, it never left. We travelled a long way, and they almost didnt let her stay with us, despite their policy. They told us to have her stay at a pet hotel or pound while we stayed there. Which i understand because it can be a hassle to clean up cat messes. But we had to call the customer service complaint hotline and have them talk to the employee, they then, had to call their manager to resolve the issue. This took an hour to resolve. We drove all night and wanted to check in early, they allowed us to check in early, but the process took a long time to check our cat in as well. Despite all the inconvenience, they were generally accommodating and sympathetic after the cat fiasco.
I stayed there on August 22nd 2021 and on awakening the morning of the 23rd I woke up with bed bug bites on my arms legs back and stomach. I appreciate it to let the lady at the desk now she was very kind and had the owner contact me in which he declined to reimburse me the money I spent on the room so now I have to take legal action he was supposed to call me back today never received a call he said that he was sending in an exterminator to check out the room even though I have proof on my phone of the bed bugs and the bites
WARNINGTHIS HOTEL WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY.I booked a room for 05/03/2021 on motel 6 website. The total room cost was $63.93 for the room. The hotel charged my credit card $ 141.80I called the hotel. The representative said the manager was not there. I then called Motel 6 corporate which in turn called the hotel which allegedly told them that they were too busy to speak to them. Motel 6 also said that I never arrived, and never checked in, yet I stayed all night. I asked for a receipt and they could not give me one, yet I checked in, but in their system I was not thereI finally got a refund of $70.90 but I am owed $77.93. ( $ 141.80 - $ 63.93 = $ 77.93 )The Manager/ Owner would never call me. I finally called him. He blamed this on me and immediately hung up on me. ( HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE) .I am disputing this with my credit card company.MOTEL 6 GUEST RELATIONS WAS WORTHLESS IN RESOLVING THIS.I will never ever stay at this hotel or any other motel 6 ever again.
We stayed for three nights. The Good: The room we stayed in was a smoker room (most motels have no smoking rooms) which was an important factor. The room was clean, quiet and the window opened. TV was a flat screen HD with good picture. Wood floors with no carpet odor. Ice machine was excellent. Convenient access from the parking lot. Easy check in and check out.The Bad: The drain for the sink in the bathroom was a slow drainer, the room had no microwave as was requested and the Manager did arrange to get one on day #2. Manager was very responsive. The bath towels were not big or fluffy. Only had complimentary coffee (for the price, compared to other motels, should have had additional breakfast items). Pillows were too soft and well used and not very supportive.
Overall the stay was very satisfying. Bed & pillows were very comfortable and the shower was good, so the major points were covered. The Air Conditioner didnt cool things off very well, quite possibly because of all the dust in the filters. We also noticed a lot of dust in the towel rack. My friend noticed immediately that the floor in our room was tile instead of carpet. We agreed that is probably a positive change from the norm.
My wife is allergic to cigarette smoke; despite booking a non-smoking room the smell of cigarettes permeates the entire property. My wife couldnt even make it into the lobby without nearly getting sick. Despite the smell of this property being nothing we could control, we were still charged for the night despite not even checking in and being unable to reach anyone on the phone. Avoid this property at all costs.
Looked sketchy from outside, but inside has been remodeled. New paint over inferior walls. But hall carpet and paint looked ok. Our room was clean. Bathroom nice, new fixtures but again, some places walls had peeled were just painted over. Some ceiling tile still stained. AC was Cold. Room didnt smell. Staff was nice. Coffee, but no breakfast. Only soap provided in bathroom. Would stay again. Room was about $70.
We hadnt stayed at a Motel 6 in a very long time. We were pleasantly surprised by a newly decorated room. Loved the bright decor, wood floor and a great bed. With the wood floor, the room looked and smelled so clean. Great improvement. The only problem...hairdryer did not work. I did tell the lady when we checked out, and said it would be taken care of. We will give Motel 6 another try next time we are traveling, as your rates are less than many others.
The entire stay was unpleasant. The room was clearly not cleaned. One of the beds had stained sheets with hair between them. Under that bed was trash, dust and hair. All of the linings had holes from cigarette burns. The shower had pubic hair stuck to the wall. Out side of the lobby door there was a group of people playing loud music and drinking beer. There was mix up when I reserved the room and got a smoking room. I was unable to switch the rooms. The lady at registration said the hotel was full. I had to purchase air freshener to mask the stench of the room. My asthma flared up and I could not breath out of my nose the following morning.
Cheap rates but the quality and maintenance reflects its pricing. Lacks common amenities other Motel 6 locations have such as, coffee maker and microwave for example. Replacing fixtures would go along way to sprucing up the feel of the room. Although front lobby and guest seating is fresh and inviting rooms still need work.
This Motel 6 is quite possibly the worst I have stayed in across the country. We arrived late around 1030 or so. I asked for and was given a smoking room, however the room had no ashtrays. In checking the room as I always do, I found the window cracked all the way through. Hair all over in the tub. The bed linens also had stains and hair on them. Hopefully it was the renovation process not being completed that made the room echo and smell so bad. Being as late as it was, I refused to call and be moved to another room honestly not knowing what I would find. The only good thing I can say about this room is the water pressure was wonderful on the shower. Do not really think I should have to clean a shower before I feel comfortable taking a shower. This visit was a total fail on Motel 6 part. And this cannot be the first time you have heard this about this location. Completely dissatisfied to say the least.
Rooms were better than I imagined. Only negative was the hotel maid service didnt service our room twice (Ill give them a break on one since it was Christmas... It just sucked it was the second day in a row) but the room was spacious. We had a king bed room. Good size mini fridge. The tub didnt drain very well during showers but it didnt really bother me. Id stay here again
I drove 10 hours. I got a non smoking room. However there was all kinds of black sludge in and around the tub. The toilet wouldnt flush nor did the remote work.. The nice man at the front desk changed my room. However this room is nasty nasty. I want to be completely comfortable as Im here to bury my grandfather. I wouldnt mind trying a 3rd time. But I cant do another room that has IMO drug residue all on the desk and all different debris and unknown objects my seizure alert dog has already tried to eat off the floor.. I asked to speak with Owner Or have corporate contact info. But was Told to wait until after 9 and speak with daytime front desk manager.
If you are looking for a clean basic place to sleep, this is the place. The gal working at the front desk was great and very helpful. This Motel 6 is currently being renovated. The furnishing in the main part of the room are new and in good condition and pretty nice (although the microwave was a bit dated; havent seen a turn dial on a microwave in a lot of years). However, the bathroom was still a work in progress. There was mold growing on the caulk between the walls of the shower and the tub, and the bathroom clearly needed a new coat of paint. My only real complaint was lighting. The lights by the bed were flourescent and mounted high up on the wall, so unless you play for the NBA, you need to get out of bed to turn it on/off. Also, the main lights in the room were on a motion switch. While I was lying in bed reading, the switch failed to sense any motion and turned the lights off making me get out of bed to reset it several times. To be fair, the front desk staff said that this wasnt suppose to be the way they work, but Im not sure how else a motion sensitive switch would work. Overall, this hotel met my basic requirements...a clean and comfortable place to sleep.
My husband and I decided to leave for Xenia the night before our meeting due to the weather. We were looking for somewhere in a good price range for a family on a budget. The room was newly remodel and very clean. Loved the size of the room also you were not on top of each other if the kids would have been with us this size room would be perfect. Very nice walk in shower very clean bathroom the floor was a little cold when you got out of shower but no big deal. We had a very nice stay and were well rested for the rest of our trip. We almost decided to stay on are way home but we were missing our kids and wanted to get back home. To top it all off I forgot my wallet in the room the housekeeper found it and took it straight to the front desk. They inturn looked up my check in to see if my phone number was listed. They called me to let me know that my wallet was at the front desk of the motel. When I pick it up I thanked them for calling me as anyone would do I did an inspection of my wallet when I got back to the car nothing was missing and I could tell they didnt even open it. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here.
The staff was very friendly and check in was efficient and fast. The room was very clean, a little old in places, mostly in the bathroom, things were a little older. The mattress was fantastic! I had a very good nights sleep! I liked having the couch in the room too for something else to sit on.
Room was very large, clean, and appeared newly renovated. Oddly empty for the space available -- maybe its intended for a suite at some future date? Only complaint was that there was no cold water in the sink. We checked under the counter, but turning the inflow valve didnt make any difference. Otherwise, a comfortable room and pleasant stay (and we appreciate your pet-friendly policy!).
Even though the rooms have been somewhat upgraded the hotel is still very old and dirty. The linens were burnt up. No rugs on the hardwood floors. Bathtub had nasty black mold all over. Couldn’t even shower it was so gross. Just need to tear the place down or completely gut it and start from scratch. Also there is a lot of drug activity and other unsavory characters running around all night long. I won’t stay here again. The staff is very nice though.
Building as a whole, is run down and deteriorating. Rooms have been remodeled by someone with little to know building skills. Bathrooms however were not remodeled. Couch in room was full of cigarette burn holes but room was advertised as Non Smoking. Hallways stink of mold and other unknown substances. Air conditioner and heater only worked part of the time. Seals around window and window frame itself are falling apart. Once we were inside the motel and saw what shape it was in, we wanted to leave but were informed we would not get our money back. Ohio is also a concealed carry state however, this location had a sign stating that no firearms were allowed on their premises. I personally did not like this. P
I have NEVER reviewed anything poorly nor have I ever complained of substandard food in a restaurant even if i didnt care for it. However, the state of this motel leaves me no option but to warn future guests of its filth and security issues. My husband and I were stunned to see air conditioning units in the middle of what one might define as the lobby. Since we are very comfortable with staying at budget motels, we were able to overlook this oddity.Upon entering the motel on the side entrance near our room, we were dismayed to find that the doors were left unlocked which allows anyone to enter. This lack of security alarmed us greatly. It concerned us that this could be a sign that drug dealing was rampant and thatwe could also be robbed. Still, we proceeded to go to our room. The carpet on the stairs leading to our room was torn in a way that posed another safety concern. My husband almost tripped on it.The hallway was filthy. The paint was chipping, smudges on the wall, and what appeared to be a urine stain on the carpet.Yet, we still proceeded to enter our room. Upon entry, we were welcomed by a very sparsely furnished room. If that was the only problem with it, that would be fine. However, the blanket (one cannot define what covered the bed as a bedspread or comforter) appeared to have been purchased from a secondhand store, complete with its original stains. The bed also looked as if someone had been lying on it. The toilet had stains and ashes on the seat. The fake wood flooring was scratched, and the boards were not even pushed together. The plastic chair was hysterical. We sincerely were concerned about the high probability of bug infestation and the possibility of finding a used syringe or condom had we investigated further. The general disrepair and filth of the entire place left us worried about our safety and our health. After just a cursory review of our surroundings, we felt the need to leave the premises immediately. Minor imperfections would be acceptable, but the totality of the experience horrified us.I do not harbor bad feelings for the Motel 6 chain, but they must send a representative to this location. I sincerely hope that whatever organization puts its name on the door would want to close down this location and give it a thorough cleaning, exterminating, and rehabbing before allowing anyone on the premises. Customers should never leave within 5-10 minutes of entering a room feeling as if they are covered in dirt.
+ Plenty of parking.+Right next door to Cracker Barrell.+Room was clean.+ Price was good.+ Clerk at checkout was super friendly and helpful.+ Good water pressure and plenty of hot water.+ Beds were comfortable.- Clerk on check in seemed quite disinterested.- Same clerk huffed/sighed/rolled eyes when we had to ask for more washcloths.- Some updates done but the bathroom needed done. Rust etc on the tub.- Toilet needed a longer chain in the tank. We had to leave the lid off so we could fix it every time we flushed.- The only thing not clean in the room was the A/C. The front was missing from the unit and the mesh was covered in a thick layer of dirt/dust.
The hotel room was clean and fairly quiet. I requested non smoking room and specifically mentioned Id like a room as far away from smoking rooms as possible. The first night was fine and there didnt appear to be many other guests there. However, the next 3 nights there were quite a few more vehicles in parking lot so I assume more guests and the hallway and common areas smelled of smoke and it even smelled in my room. My clothing and hair smelled like smoke also. I stay in Springfield often and would consider staying here again if smoking issue was rectified.
Though I requested a non-smoking room, there really were no such rooms. The entire corridor reeked of cigarette smoke the entire three days of my stay. The first day, even my room reeked. Secondly, the shower had a wad of pubic hair in the drain strainer when I arrived, and clearly the toilet had not been cleaned in quite a while, as I was able to use a wash cloth to clean some sort of deposits out of the bowl which would not disappear with a couple of flushes, but which would disappear with a wipe of the cloth. That bowl had not seen a brush in quite a while. And I always had to go looking to find someone at the front desk for the evening shift, say, 10PM to 12AM.
Nice clean, cheap room. Requested a nonsmoking room. I was a little concerned bc the hallway smells of stale smoke. But the room was remodeled and looked and smells clean. Beds are comfortable and we heard no other noise from visitors or outside. It was kind of strange, as were used to city noise. Being cold out, the air was extremely dry. We grabbed a cheap travel humidifier and that fixed us right up.
We stayed for two nights and sadly it was less than acceptable. The front desk clerks were nice I can say. The rooms were not update/renovated as claimed. During our stay there was a very large teen musically group staying at the hotel. They constantly slammed doors all night til near 2am before I passed out from being too tired. Since I was in room 112, very close to the front desk I thought someone staffing the desk would have spoken to them and asked them to remain quiet after 10 pm at least. The place seemed very dated, at least our room. We stayed the night before in Erie, PA at the Motel 6 there and it was very nice, clean, and modern inside. I gave it a very good review.
After having driven nearly 600 miles I was looking for a convenient, and moderately priced, place to spend the night. When traveling alone, as I was that evening, my requirements are fairly simple. My Primary Concerns are Clean and Secure. These past two years I have spent approximately 150 nights in motels rooms across the country, and I use Travelocity quite often when booking rooms on the go, as their App is quick and easy. Your Motel was one of the few that was available that evening. Your Desk Staff, at both check in and check out were, were friendly and courteous. On the way to my room I noted that the hallway looked worn, and somewhat in disrepair. Upon Arrival to my room I found it very simply appointed with laminate floors and very basic furniture. As I was very tired I quickly went to bed. The next morning as I was getting around I saw a 1 gap in the Laminate Floor near the Restroom, and stains on painted surfaces. When I pulled back the shower curtain I noticed a makeshift patch duct taped on the Shower Wall, as well as some black discoloration along the Grout Lines. The worst of it was that there was a used bar of soap in the Soap Tray. I immediately opted against showering and simply washed up at the Sink. I have stayed at a number of Motel 6 motels before, but all of those experiences were much better than this one had been. Given this most recent experience, it will likely be quite some time before I consider staying at one again. All things considered, and the friendliness of your staff being the primary saving grace, I feel that my 2 Star rating is very generous.
Well stayed there from 7/26 til 7/28 of 2018 the bathroom door jams u have to fight to open it . There was a water stain the bathroom ceiling. The room had no pictures on the wall .the shower has absolutely no water pressure it probably was remodeled case the bases that the bed are on the mattress just slides off next time I think Ill pay a little more money for a better stay and a better night sleep...I have stayed at other motels they werent this bad we had a fridge in the room that had mold or something leaking in it I would and vise the motley 6 change send someone from corporate t come check it out.it was my first and last stay at that place....
This place was in the process of a remodel when we were there. First off, the parking lot was atrocious. Huge pot holes which would envelope a car (or person) at night. We quickly learned where those were. Also, when you arrive, it was hard to find the actual entrance as it wasnt the one you thought. Hopefully thats changed. However, the lobby was nice and spruced up and looked welcoming. The lady working the desk was friendly enough (and American).Side doors didnt have a lock on it, anyone could walk right in without a key card. I sure hope they fixed that. If not, request a room away from end or outer doors to help increase safety. Our room was one of the more recently remodeled ones. The fake hardwood floor was nice enough, felt cleaner than carpet. The room was very large, which was good. Didnt feel cramped in it. Bathroom was small as they usually are.The shower-head had a lot of mold on it which was disgusting. The toilet wasnt the cleanest, but I always bring cleaning wipes when I stay in a hotel and clean things myself. While we did not see any bugs in the room, there was evidence bugs were treated for. There was some leftover white powdery substance my husband identified as bug treatment residue (he works maintenance at a hotel). The room had a refrigerator, and a decent sized one. That was nice as we could have some food and drinks in there. The room was fairly quiet, even close to the highway. We ended up checking out a day early. When we left, which was very early in the morning, the gentleman working the desk didnt seem to understand that we were leaving a day early. Sure enough, I checked my card statement a few days later to find wed been charged an extra night.I called the hotel, and it took forever to explain to the man (who was not American) what the issue was, and that wed left a day early and were still charged for the full amount of days. The communication barrier was frustrating. Finally he seemed to understand and told me hed refund the last night. I checked my card statement the next day, and he had done it and all was well.Overall it wasnt bad for a budget hotel, but certainly not my first choice. Much of the motel was still a mess and hadnt been touched by the remodel yet. I feel the rates should have been a bit lower to reflect that.
We stayed at the Motel 6 in Springfield, Ohio. You were not as bad as the Quality Inn and Conference Center. Not words of praise, but your staff did well in not giving me the key to another persons room ... as Quality Inn did. In fact, your staff is your only asset here. Both women were friendly, and were as helpful as much as they could be.The room was adequate: two beds, locking window and door, but there was not a dead bolt on the door. For two women, that was not acceptable. We rearranged the furniture. : / The bathroom toilet was so stained, it looked dirty. The toilet paper holder was corroded. There was NO hot water. The website listed a free hot breakfast - there was only coffee in a carafe. Extremely disappointed in what this motel had to offer.
This motel said newly remodeled. The light fixtures were not on the wall. Wires hanging out of the wall. Paint missing on the wall. Mold and rust in the bathroom. Took pictures but not sure how to load them on reviews..water spots on the walls and ceiling was also the hair dryer plastic was broken was afraid to use in fear of get shocked
Service was friendly and efficient, rooms were clean and tidy. However, the room was not carpeted and was echoey and felt un-cozy. It was hard to relax in such a big space that felt so empty. There was also a very strong smell of cigarette smoke on our floor even though the rooms were all non-smoking. There were also signs of water damage with some swollen ceiling tiles in the bathrooms, and unless we turned the AC down to 60, we could not get the air in our room to feel dry. Heads up, there were also no shampoos or conditioners in the bathroom. For a budget motel, I certainly don’t expect luxury accommodation, and I’m a pretty brass-tacks kind of person when it comes to a place to sleep while travelling. I’ve stayed at other Motel 6 locations in the past and have felt very comfortable. However, this particular location feels as though they may be trying to salvage a previously-neglected building with slow-and-steady remodelling.
The door lock did not work at all even with the master key tried by the clerk, we would have changed rooms but there was none available. The room was dark, no soap or shampoo in the room, the shower water pressure was so weak I could have poured water from a cup with better results. The towels were the smallest and cheapest I have ever seen in a Motel 6. I have stayed in motels all over the USA, and the room we were put in in my opinion (as a inspector of 32 years) was not ready for habitation. As for the coffee, it tasted like and looked like colored hot water. Thank goodness for the corner gas station..
First room we had the shower didnt work, and we were moved right away. Look closely and the place is worn down, but with some new furnishings. Reeked of Marijuana. It was good for what we needed at the time - a shower, a warm bed, and dogs allowed. Price was fair for quality.
Economy motel in a convenient location, just off I-70 and close to eateries. The room was clean though spartan, plenty of hot water, relatively quiet, and roomy. The floors were laminate, no rug, and although the furniture wasnt modern, there was plenty of storage as well as a desk. The refrigerator worked well, but there is no coffee maker in the room, just in the lobby. The price was reasonable when we stayed here but looking ahead for our next trip, the price more than doubled, which is way overpriced.
Worst motel ever!! The heater was so loud it kept us awake half the night. Refrigerator froze some of our food. AND THE BADLY STAINED TOILET RAN OVER IN THE MORNING. Then we had to use a public toilet. Because there was toilet water on the bathroom floor, we didn’t feel comfortable using the shower. Any we were still charged for this horrid room!! Yuck!
The room wasnt to bad. We were only in the room long enough to take a shower and sleep. The bedding had some stains on them....which I always bring my own bedding and pillows, so it wasnt a huge deal. The hair dryer was broke which was disappointing. On a good note....the shower was hot and they left the light on for me. :)
I felt like i was not welcome the employee even the owners were very rude like I still owed them more after I had just paid for the night. I wont dare stay there again cause Im Good Person and chose to make Good decisions all my life. When you love someone or something your a priority in its life ,you dont walk behind or in front of ,you walk beside whom you love through every moment your whole lives, & if you love someone you sure dont hurt them ,..its simple math people you take care of ur stuff if u love it..
Completely legit hotel. The rooms are recently renovated and clean.Quiet and just off 70. I stay in hotels many times a month. And if your spending 40-70 bucks after a while you can kinda tell the age and Maintenance. This place is fine. The only thing that miffed me was I renewed my stay for another night. From Thursday to Friday, and the Friday fee was 23 extra dollars.I get it. But, still sketchy imo.
The rooms were pretty bare, our TV didnt work, and there was a huge melted gum stain on the blanket. When we arrived in the section where our room was it smelled like pot as soon as you opened the door. Overall it was mediocre at best, they need to fix the place up a bit.
We were put in a handicap room, even though we did not request it. While the room was large, it was not in very good shape. No covers on electrical outlets, lamp did not have shade, just a bare bulb. Hotel did not furnish tissues (Kleenex) or any shampoo, two standards that we have come to expect at all hotels. Overall paint chipping. Bed was comfortable, hotel was easy to get to from the interstate and it was cheap.
The people were AWESOME! Super friendly and helpful. However, the room was very run down, the bathroom was very dirty (lots of black mold in the grout of the shower/tub, black grime in the corners, and dark slop against the walls on the wall under the sink) but the worst part is that they have most of the lights in the room set on motion sensors so when you move I the dark they all turn on. It was a nightmare the first night, every time someone got up to use the bathroom all the lights turned on!!!! Horrible set up! We ended up hanging clothes over all the sensors so we could sleep! All in all, this is a cheap priced hotel and the quality is what you expect for this low price.
How can I describe my stay? Upon entering the room, the first thing I see is that front of the dresser drawer is broken and hanging off at an angle. Its a large room, with plenty of space for furniture - but theres only a bed and dresser, leaving the rest of the room devoid of purpose. Nothing is hung on the walls, and I wonder if I have stumbled on an abandoned bedroom set from a low-budget movie. Turning to go to the bathroom, I first have to make my way through a sort-of hallway or an empty room. The blank bare walls bear witness that things clearly USED to be here in the hotels previous incarnation.. but theres nothing now...The bathroom itself feels out of another decade. Pulling back the shower curtain reveals a tub/shower with resplendently bright pink square tiles and a rusty shower head. A bar of soap (wrapped in plastic) is laying on the counter, but theres no shampoo or conditioner. The bed was comfy, but before falling asleep I had to wonder if the room was out of a crime scene or imagined from a haunted house...When I woke in the morning, the promised breakfast area consisted of a pot of coffee of indeterminate age, an old-looking machine promising orange juice, and a vending machine with various foodstuffs which could be purchased for consumption. Given how run down everything else appeared to be, I skipped all three and went to Dunkin Donuts.
I checked in on Friday night the 16 around 11 pm service was good. Got to my room to find all wood floors no rugs or carpet little odd but ok. It was hot in the room adjusting ac unit to 64 it took 16 minutes to come on and never blew cold air the whole time room never below 74. Went to get shower witch was another issue more water came out the tub then there was coming out of the shower head very low pressure I will not stay at this location again
Avoid staying here if possible- plenty of other hotels at this exit. As others have pointed out, this place has a smell in the hallways. Other problems: side/rear doors of the hotel are unsecured, so it is easy for anyone to access the hotel from a non-main entrance. My bathroom wasnt clean enough, the sink did not drain, the latch on the secondary door lock was missing. And yeah, no facial tissue or shampoo.
I have never stayed in a place like this Motel. I had prepaid reservations and when I arrived my room was not cleaned. It was the last room available at the motel and I arrived at my stated time, 11 p.m. I had no choice but to stay overnight in the room because all other accommodations in the area were full. The drop ceiling over the tub had missing tiles and the tub had a rusty red debris in it as though someone had been injured and bled into the tub. There were used towels on the counter and the toilet had not been cleaned. Both beds were made up so I slept in the one farthest from the door. I checked out of the hotel by 9 a.m. the next morning and received a refund for the remaining night of my stay. I am still waiting to hear from the location manager for a refund of the night that I did stay. I will never stay at a Motel 6 again and I will never recommend the motel or any Associated locations to parents of Wittenberg University students.
Dirty. Blood on floor and on chair. Room was not cleaned. Smelled of stale cigarettes. Contacted front desk and they removed chair but blood on floor was not cleaned up. Requested a new rooom. The attendant had to call a manager and ask permission. The new room was a bit cleaner but the air/heating unit was broken. The love seat was ripped in places and stained. No screens in the windows. Fake wood floors in the rooms, no rugs on floor or pictures or decor on walls or in room. Currently under renovation but cant see how that will help as it appears it is being poorly done. The beds are not the comfy hotel beds and the bedding was cheap and sparse. 2 pillows to a room and they were not quality pillows. Bad odors and weird color schemes, in rooms and hallways. No elevator. Ice machine broken. The Motel 6 should have paid me to stay here. Next time will try the Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, or Baymont Inn which were in same area.
The place smells bad, no cover on the heat, AC unit, fridge did not work, thus had to throw out the food we put in there, have to pay for wifi, no clock radio in room, no complimentary shampoo, sparse towels. Staff were very nice tho, and allowed me to refreeze my ice packs in the staff freezer. Had I known the fridge did not adequately work, I would have asked to store other food in staff fridge but didnt realize till the next morning when I pulled the food out of the room fridge.
Mold on the bathroom ceiling. Had to insert the door key multiple times for it to work. BED BUGS!!!!!!! The mattress was literally COVERED in them. Theres mold on the ceiling and the bathroom door would hardly closed. The toilet doesnt flush properly. The smoke detector is falling off the wall & the hallways ARE FLOODED WITH THE SMELL OF WEED. The front desk clerk was rude. We got refunded and left.
We got a room that smelled of smoke and had an ashtray and the bedspreads had cigarette holes burned into them... and smoking in hotels has not even been legal in Ohio for a decade. There was kitty litter all over the hallway. There were no locks or pass-keys required on the outside hotel doorways so anyone could walk into the hotel from any outside door. There was no shampoo available, even from the front counter. Only 1 pillow was provided per guest. No carpet in the room so it was echoy and cold. The neighboring room had loud dogs barking half the night. We had reservations for 4 people in the room yet only 2 towels were provided (the front desk did provide more when asked). There was a giant hole in the wall near the floor by the toilet in the bathroom. The electric plugs in my parents room by the beds did not work. The My6 website would not show me my reservations in advance even when I was logged in properly; I had to call to get emailed copies. Needless to say, we wont be back.
The bed sheets were covered in dog hair and had not been changed from the previous guest. The t.v. Did not work and the bath tub was full of brown stuff . The room was dirty and smelled like a mildewy mop was used to clean it. I was very unsatisfied . I will be traveling to this location often to visit the college and I will not be using your hotel. I understand this is a budget hotel but House keeping makes a big difference. Thank you
Place was very affordable. Room was cleanGentleman at the front desk was very polite, helpful, and made sure everything was good for our stay. Good location if you are travelling or just in town for a day in two. Lots of restaurants within walking distance, and easy quick access to I-71. I would recommend.
The first person I encountered at the desk set the pace for a good visit. She was cheerful, obviously bright and very helpful. The room was nicely appointed and I slept like a log. (a seventy year old log who had been driving for 11 hours:-) I left very early the next morning and once again, the woman at the desk was competent and very pleasant. BTW your price was the best I encountered in seven states. Definitely helpful to an old woman living on Social Security who loves traveling.
I was going to stay at a different Motel 6 in the area, but after reading their reviews, I went a little out of my way for the Springfield Motel 6. I was very happy with my choice! I was traveling with one dog, and there is no additional charge or weight limit for dogs at Motel 6. The Springfield location was easy to find, convenient to interstate, a safe area, etc. While close to traffic, there were no traffic sounds in the room. My room was clean and updated, except for the tube and shower surround area, but it was still clean. The A/C was great, too! The bed was a little hard for my taste, and the pillows a little soft, but overall it was a very nice place to stay for the price!!
The hotel had roaches & no working smoke detector in my room. They placed me on the second floor even though I reserved a first floor room due to Meniscus and Ligament damage to my left leg. This hotel does not have an elevator. When I asked to talk to management, 3 times, no one contacted me. I called their corporate headquarters and was told it was up to the location to contact me. They lied about dogs only being allowed on the second floor since several dogs barked at my dog from the first floor. The staff and management does not seem to care about their quests. If you allowed a zero that is how I would rate this location.
Cheap but for a good reason, paper thin walls, I could hear whole conversations, doors slamming in hallways all night, room next door was watching a pretty intense game or match of some sort because I def heard a dude cheering very loudly/being extremely disrespectful at 10pm on a Monday. Sheets were clearing not washed, had what looked like flea eggs everywhere? Overall I was kinda scared to fall asleep because of the other guests and possibility of bed bugs (I didn’t find any or was bitten thank god) anyways I guess I got what I paid for 🤷🏻♀️
It took over twenty four hours to get the phone, my father has a medical monitor which has to hook to phone. The frig never got cold enough to keep medicine cool. The A/C Heater unit was missing its front grill and sounded like a jet airplane taking off.The room was clean and nice. The staff at the desk were wonderful.
The street view of the hotel appears shuttered and abandoned. Glad we drove around and found the main entrance on the side. Lobby and halls smelled of old smoke after repeated attempts to remove it with harsh chemical cleaners. Inside was otherwise clean and well-lit. Staff friendly. Room smelled OK. No screen on window. Bathroom door didnt close.BIG PROBLEM!!!! On Sunday morning at a few minutes after 8am, someone attempted to enter my room. The door opened slowly, as if the person knew they shouldnt be doing this and didnt want to alert anyone who might be in the room. The flip catch on the door did its job and stopped the door from opening. I was in the bathroom at the time (door doesnt close, remember) and saw this happening. By the time I got to the door, nobody was in the hallway. I called the front desk and the woman said shed talk to the manager, because housekeeping shouldnt be going around at that hour. No expression of concern if I was OK. What if someone was trying to break in? What if the catch wasnt on, or I wasnt there? No follow-up at all from the staff. Deeply disturbed and disgusted.
This was the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. The room was disgusting. Everything was dirty and looked like it had not been cleaned for awhile. The night stand, tv stand, bathroom vanity, outside bathroom shelf and the refrigerator were dirty with stains, beverage dribbles and dust or who knows what dirt/dribble. We found dirty used towels in both the bathroom hanging over the shower and one used towel on the shelf above the hangers. There were hairs in the shower and in the soap caddy. The bathroom floor was dirty with crumbs, stains. The tv remote stuck to the table when I picked it up.The clean towels in the cubby on the wall were shoved in and we werent even sure they were clean. The bed sheets had stains on them. They should really not be used in that condition. We arrived about 9 pm or we would have never stayed. We had traveled a long distance and stayed at the university a good part of the day and were ready to et to the hotel and relax for the night. We were too tired to deal with the dirt. We went to bed and just knew we would never choose a Motel 6 again. We have pictures of some of this. We will recommend to all we know to stay clear of your hotels in the future. We were down to visit Cedarville University for a indoor track meet and saw your motel was in an area with other unfamiliar hotel chains. We usually stay in a Marriott but figured we would give a Motel 6 a shot since there were no Marriotts there. We have stayed in other hotels but have never had a problem like the above listed. Very unacceptable!
Bath tub was filthy. I cleaned it myself - it took a nail brush I had in my shaving kit to get the tub clean. Once cleaned, I took a shower and the water backed up and filled the tub up to my ankles. (I took photos) I reported this to the front desk. Someone cleaned the drain and it started working properly. I got the room for a 2nd night; asked for and received a discount for all the issues. I did not discover until late the second night that the refrigerator did not work. The microwave heated but did not rotate. I am a lifetime non-smoker. The whole area had a strong odor of stale smoke and I could occasionally smell new smoke. I reported all these issues during check out. I did not report there was a burn hole (I am assuming from a cigarette) in the spread on the bed I slept in and there was some type substance (looked like food residue) on the bed spread on the 2nd bed (I took photos). I had a much worse experience at a M-6 in Waco Texas. I assure you I will NEVER STAY at the Waco M-6 ever again under no circumstances. I have told and will continue to tell the issues I experienced to others . I have stayed in motels at various places around the world and have never experienced what I did at the Waco Texas M-6. It was a nightmare! I do not think I received a survey for that stay. I intend to write corporate and explaining both experiences and ask for a response. To be fair, I have stayed at other M-6 locations and found none of the issues I had at the 2 locations I mention here. In fact I have told others about the GOOD experiences as well as the bad. I would stay at and recommend these M-6 locations. Evidently Tom Bodett has not been to the 2 M-6 locations I mentioned. I request but do not expect a response from these comments.550/2000 characters maximum
The staff is friendly, the rooms clean, and the grounds well maintained. The hotel is also located right off of the interstate and next to Bob Evans and Cracker Barrel.I have stayed at this hotel for several years while traveling for a dog show. Unfortunately two years ago there was a policy change about pets. There is no elevator at this hotel and if you travel with pets you are no longer permitted to stay in a ground floor room. Its very inconvenient for taking dogs out and if you have dogs that are small or have issues with stairs this is something to keep in mind since there is no elevator. If not for this issue Id have rated them 5 stars.
After coming off of the road for a reset, I chose here. My room was upgraded to a king. Room had a terrible view of the interior foyer wall from the window. I was impressed w/the size of the room. My room was equipped w/a medium size fridge, recliner, table and chair for paper work, 36 LG, plenty of pillows, and spacious bathing area. Dont have to dig deep into pockets, very good value $.
After reading the other reviews, I was skeptical to stay here. But, I already had a reservation. Check in was easy and the price was cheap. The rooms were bigger than I expected and everything was nice... Clean linens, carpet, and a new AC with digital controls that cooled the room off fast. It appeared that the property was in the Middle of transitioning to a Motel 6,so there was some remodeling going on in the hallway. The Wifi signal was strong and fast. (I was in room 150)...the fastest Ive had at any hotel in the last week. The breakfast was nothing fancy. There are many restaurants in the area. Id definitely stay here again if passing through.
Walked in and it smelled very badly. Was in the smoking room, but it was kinda ridiculous how bad it smelled. The bed had a giant burn hole and a blood stain? The floors were clearly not swept. as cable and wifi so thats a plus.... but woke up with bed bugs crawling all over me and my fiance!!!! Never again will come here and will warn everyone ..
The room was suppose to be non smoking and smelled like an ashtray. Frigde was not cleaned. Burn holes in blankets. Smoke detector was hanging off the wall. And the receptionist xharged my card 3 times for the room and i have been waiting 3 days for a manager to contact me. I told front desk about the smoking issue all she said was use this fabreeze
We called to book a room and they were trying to charge more than the price online. Usually most hotels offer a truck/CDL discount. We had to pull over to book it online to save the money. At 8pm from returning from dinner there was literally a gang bang across the hall. All through the night even at 3am doors were slamming and alot of activities. These are more the type of guess staying there issues. The towels were really small. Room was clean though. We ended up staying the next two nights at country inn for almost the same price. I would have stayed again if I had no other choice but there was better options.
Previous stays had been satisfactory, but my most recent stay was not. The front desk staff was rude and unfriendly. The room I had reserved in advance was not made available as it had been given to another person. I had made it clear when making my reservation that I had a number of things with me only to be told at check-in that my first floor reservation couldnt honored and there was no elevator to the 2nd floor. The air conditioner in the room only operated occasionally during my stay. Another guest checking in without a reservation received a lower rate right in front of me! It was an altogether unsatisfactory stay.
The 2nd floor hallway smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, One lamp in the room was not even plugged in, and there was no apparent outlet to plug it into, the other lamp was missing part of the switch. The floor was not cleaned very well, neither was the bathtub. The bed was sagging and possibly the frame was broken or about to be. However, the people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful.
We stopped in the middle of the night just for a place to sleep during a road trip. They were very accomidating and let us bring in our mini Aussie. They had updated wood floors and the room was nice to just sleep in. It still could have used some more updates and thete was no breakfast like the sign said. Other than that it was good for what we needed.
The ad says remodeled. Its not, but should be. I dont care about outdated furnishings, but rusty TP holder? We were 2 adults staying there, only one towel, washcloth, and hand-towel. The outlet by the sink didnt work, and neither did one of the lamps. The woman at the front desk upon check-in was rude. I asked a few questions and shed answer them without letting me finish my sentence.Im not sure if this really is the policy or if she was brushing me off but I asked if it was possible to have a ground-level room as we had 2 dogs with us. She told us that the pet-friendly rooms were on the 2nd floor only. How would a physically challenged person with a service dog get to the 2nd floor? There is no elevator. So - ADA non-compliant, rude service, shabby rooms. Im used to basic and fine with it - which is why I frequent Motel 6. But aging, rusty items in rooms and rude personnel - I will not stay there again.
If I could have given this place a zero I certainly would have. Filthy conditions. Bathtub blackened with mold. The room needed an all over cleaning, it was obvious no real detailed cleaning had ever been done to the room or the building. The parking lot is dangerous from fluid spillage from the big 4wheelers. Very unkept establishment. There was a guy passed out on bench outside front desk entrance with earbuds in his ears. Spend a few more bucks elsewhere if you are.seeking cleanliness and peace of mind.
I didnt get names, but the person I originally booked with was rude, stating that pets HAD to be on the 2nd floor and there was a pet charge. I called back to add a day to our reservation and didnt feel real welcome after that conversation. When we checked in, we dealt with a nicer person that did get us a 1st floor room, but stated there was no way we could have a fridge in our room. There was a used condom in the towel rack. We did get a fridge, but it didnt work very well, and we had to ask the 3rd person for it. We have stayed at several Motel 6, but I dont think I want to stay at 1 again.
If I could give this hotel a lower rating I would. The room had a terrible odor. I turned the a/c on full blast and left for over an hour and the room still had an odor. Then when I turned down the bed linens I found used food napkins lying on the sheet. Someone had made the bed w/o changing the sheets or looking to see that it was clean. It appears that the previous user made the bed not realizing that the food napkins were there. Then the staff did not unmake it to change the linens. The front desk staff was very unhelpful, stating the manager would be in the next morning but he did not show. I was staying 2 nights and was again told the manager would be in the next day with the same results. The manager did not show again. The bathroom tub was dirty also. According to Motel6 policy, no facial tissues are provided in the room or shampoo.I had no choice but to stay as when I called around to the other hotels in the area, they were all booked because of a antique extravaganza in the area.
Normally I would not give 4 stars to a motel, but the experience was much better than anticipated. Clean, super huge room! King suite. Newer laminate wood floors. We could have played hockey in there. The bed was more like a 3 star bed. Not awful, kinda creaky, just not great. Desk help was super friendly.
Do not stay here! Stayed evening oct 2 2019, woke up at 4:30 am to bed bugs! Two beds both with bugs. Shower curtain had mold on the bottom 6” up. Was refunded my rate for the room. Will be making a formal complaint with state fire marshal who I am told regulates hotels.!!!!!
+ Front desk staff polite .Clean rooms, updated ,building looks like its being renovated.Walking distance to restaurantsOutside has numerous areas to walk your dog.Second floor smell of cigarette smoke very strong in hallways.Second floor room doors slam shut creating loud noise.Beds uncomfortable
The beds were pretty old, with some tears in the bedsheets. The TV did the job, but isnt as good compared to some other hotels I have been to that were around the same price. The main reason was the stay overnight, to get moving to our destination, so I had to rate it a four star
Great price. Staff was friendly. Room and bathroom were clean. Bed/pillows were comfortable. No frills but perfect for my motel needs -- a comfortable good nights sleep! Easy on/off to interstate ramps and there were many options for food that were very close to motel.
The room was nice and clean. Had a good HD TV and the wifi worked really well. The only negative was that a couple of times there were people hanging out at the back of the motel that I dont know if they were staying there or not. A couple of guys got into an argument outside my room but the attendant came right down and moved them on. Overall I think that it was a good value for the dollar. We just wanted something nice and clean and it fit the bill. The location was good with a Cracker Barrel and several other restaurants nearby. I would recommend this motel as a place to stay.
My experience was horrible, the first room I was given had not been cleaned or made up, after telling the clerk she put us in a second room that was only barely cleaner. Additionally, I certainly hope whoever did the remodel work didnt charge them for it... I generally dont consider a job like that done when theyre still holes in the walls!
They call this place newly remodeled. That means they put in some new carpet and painted the hallways and lobby a mix of white and bright orange. It looks like something out of a bad 70s theme. Lets talk about the front desk and the staff. The one time I saw the receptionist at the desk she was speaking with someone. As we walked by they stopped their conversation and were completely silent. Even though we were within 3 feet of the desk she did not say hello or ask if we needed anything. After we were past the desk they started talking again. It was very rude. The next time we walked past the lobby area maybe an hour later trying to find the fitness center the receptionist was in the dining area with two other people and playing on her cell phone. If I hadnt seen her behind the desk before I wouldnt have known she worked there. No name tag and no uniform showing that she was an employee. Now lets head to our room. As you are walking down the hallway some of the signs are backwards, for example pointing the wrong direction for certain room numbers. Very confusing. Also one of the signs pointed you to the opposite side of the motel for the fitness center. We never found it. Some of the room numbers on the doors are literally written on paper and taped to the door. We happened to be in a room that had a number 0 written on paper and taped over a number on the actual number plate. We get to the room and finally get the door open. There are baseboards coming off the walls. The lighting reminded me of an old office building or bad hospital. There is one LARGE florescent light over head. It bathes the room in the terrible greenish glow. The two lights on the side of the bed shed some very yellow light on everything. The room just feels dirty to me. That was not helped when I went to shower and the bottom of the bath tub is completely grey. The biggest issue was the yellow spots I found on the sheets. Im not talking yellow with age, but dark, yellow, perfectly round, spots on one side of the bed. Those sheets should have been thrown out the minute that housekeeping saw those spots. I was so disgusted that I insisted on sleeping in long sweatpants, a sweatshirt and on top of the top sheet. As soon as I got home I went straight to shower. The only parts of the room they seemed to have remodeled was the bathroom sink and the toilet may have been new. They didnt configure the room properly either. They put the bed in front of the electrical outlet so that you could only charge your phone on one side of the bed. Very inconvenient for two people in a king sized bed who use their phones for alarm clocks. Now I understand this is a motel and I was not expecting a five star establishment. But have a little pride in what you do or the place that you are having people stay. I would rather pay an extra $20 a night and go stay at many of the other hotels in the area than ever return to this motel. Places like this give motels a bad name.
The room was clean and comfortable. Two items were irritating. The fan is terrible, much too loud and one cant use sink without having the fan on. You should only need fan on when using the toilet or shower but not just for sink. Also the sink stopper has to be opened by pressing on it with your finger. If you have dirty water in sink, not pleasant to have to stick hands in it to open stopper.
This is a old hotel that was changed into a motel 6. The rooms are newly renovated with the new motel 6 decor and included a refrigerator and microwave. The rooms were very roomy but they werent the cleanest especially the bathroom. Other than that it was a great room!
Guest service agent disoriented, room was not very clean, the toilet was whop sided. Definitely not what i had expected for what i had paid. Stayed a 2nd time, toilets still nlt fixed, had a hard time flushing. Personal property stolen, front desk tried denying it and wouldnt do anything about it. Stains on the blanket that came from god only knows where. Fleas in the room. Our puppy now has fleas and she didnt have them.
I have stayed in many hotels and motels. Some top end and some moderate. This is the absolute worst motel/hotel I have ever stayed at. Doors that clang shut the way I imagine they would in a prison. Bathroom disgusting. Smell of the room was so bad I threw away my luggage when I got home because the smell was still there. Then at 3:00 in the morning all kinds of noise in the hallway. Finally at 4:00 a.m. I called down to front desk - after ringing 30 time someone finally picked up and said Well Im sorry but we have had an overdose in the motel and the police and paramedics are there and there is nothing we can do about the noise. I got absolutely no sleep and I would never stay at your motel or any Motel 6 again.
Hi. I had booked a room for 7 days. I paid upfront for 4 days and the rest on a day to day basis. On the 5th day the owner informs me the room is no longer available and that we would have to leave. OK this after I reserved the room. Then later that day he gives up to our room and said that he under charged us and needed more money. I said OK it happens Ill come down shortly and pay you. He says OK wet need to clean your room. I told him I had front desk give me new blankets and towels the night before. He demanded we leave the room with my 2 2 year old babies, one who has autism. I made him completely aware that we had 2 babies. His wife then calls the room and demands we go outside while they clean. I told them no I have never heard anything like that, I would put them in the bath and they could clean. They called the Sheriff!! Made us leave then proceeded to call every hotel/motel in the city and tell them we are dirty and broke!! I accompined the house cleaner during us getting told to leave so I would know there would be no suprise charges on my credit card. I want this addressed asap. Please contact me back as I will be letting corporate know as well. Thank you. Springfield, Ohio Motel 6
There was no breakfast as advertised, only coffee. I requested a bottom floor room when I made the reservation (a month prior) but was informed there were none available when I checked in. Wall sockets were hanging out and flooring was disjointed, with many gaps. (Tripping hazard) evening desk was very friendly and helpful. Morning desk not as much so. I’ll pass on that Motel 6 in the future.
The room was very clean and I must say that I enjoyed the updated contemporary styling. The only thing I had an issue with is that I could not locate an outlet that was accessible anywhere in the room. I know that I was very tired. So, its possible that I mightve just missed it. However, I do recall looking everywhere for one to plug my phone into.
The front desk overcharged me for my stay and put me in a smoking room even though I did not book that. Luckily we were able to be put in a non smoking room after I complained, but I was unable to get them to honor the price I paid online. I was told that only the manager could resolve the situation, and literally every time we went to the front desk we were told that the manager was not in but would be in later. I left my phone number with the front desk but never received a phone call back from the manager.
Lack of towels wash rags. Rooms had a musty smell and hallway was damp smelling. Windows fogged so u couldnt see out to the weed infested back lot. Didnt sweep the room whole 3 days we were there. No coffee Sunday morning and lack of coustmer service. No clean bed sheets. Just not nice for price..
If you are a non-smoker, but love the smell of smoke, then this is the place for you! The smoke in this place permeated throughout everything. The actual room accommodations were adequate, but I couldnt get over the smell of smoke in my non-smoking room. I doubt Ill be in that area anytime soon, but this turns me off from ever considering another motel 6.
Very dirty. Sheets were stained, locks doesnt work, there was mold in the shower, dust everywhere. Im asthmatic and requested nonsmoking but someone was very obviously smoking weed. I had to take my rescue inhaler several times, possibly because of smoke, possibly because of the poor conditions kept. When we told the staff about the issues in the morning they were confrontational and said if we had called ahead of time none of this would have happened. Will never return
This was a great motel to stay at. I definitely recommend it. It was very clean, the WiFi worked without a problem, the staff was friendly. Some of the items in the room showed their age, but they functioned well. The desk chair was broken and would not go up or down to adjust for height, and the other controls were locked up as well. The only reason I am not giving them the full 5 stars was the parking situation. Most of the lot was roped off and everybody had to squeeze into a handful of spaces. Not sure if it was due to repairs, or they just did not want cars all over the place, but I was not too happy about this.
We had a very pleasant stay and the front desk did their very best to find the room we wanted. Our stay was great and look forward to visiting again. They have updated all the rooms and are Pet Friendly. The TV picture was extraordinarily clear and vivid. They even have a video on Youtube, how nice.
Pleasantly surprised for a Motel 6 it was a very nice, clean, comfortable and a somewhat remodeled motel. Bathroom had been updated, shower was great and all very clean. Nice furniture, desk, chair and ottoman and we had a mini fridge which was very nice and worked well. There is plenty of truck parking. Lots of grass for the dogs to run and play. Friendly staff esp Carrie who was very helpful with our reservation and upon check in, as well as giving us menus to the local pizza delivery (My Cousin Vinneys, very good). Next door is a Cracker Barrel and a cpl other places with in walking distance also. We frequently stay at Motel 6s because of their pet policy and we travel (drive truck) all over with 3 dogs who ride along and this is one of the best ones weve stayed at. Would have given 5 stars but it still could use some updating especially replacing some ceiling tiles (a cpl looked like they were about to fall out - in the bathroom and the hallway, making it look old) and also the outlets in the room, too many extention cords which would concern me that they could get over loaded and cause a fire. Would still stay again esp for the price of $58/night.
Check out time was 11 oclock at 9:18 they may come walking in the rain no not no announcement nothing Will not stay here again . Was there 12216 she made walked in without even knocking if I hadnt not then just stepping out of the shower and had been by the bed I would have pulled my gun out the toilet was not fastened to the floor the shower curtain rod was about to fall off vent was dirty in the bathroom the safety lock on the door was broke no continental breakfast at all no coffee in the room nothing but one bar of soap no more No microwave hair dryer no ironing board no shampoo Kleenexes and had a large king size ring the most expensive ring was not worth the money I have stayed in dump that was better than this place complained when we left but as always you know Im sorry we will see this does not happen again they do not have to worry about me cause I will not be back
Motel is very nasty. Burn holes in the blankets in a non smoking room. Black spots on the sheets. Black foot prints in shower. Didnt even stay there and they refused to give my money back, lady working at the desk said Im the only one working and I do not clean rooms. Very rude!! $70 down the drain! Place NEEDS to be shut down!!!
First thing first, you get what you pay for!The hotel is an older hotel, its not so much that its dirty but that its old and not a lot of money is invested. I stopped here for the night, the customer service was great, the front desk was helpful. If you dont want to use your card, then you can pay cash as I did. Parking lot is lit, and theres plenty of restaurants within walking distance, a gas station within 50 feet. The wifi is free, and is simple to access. Now to the room, again your not paying for a 5 star hotel, the room was recently renovated, and a lot of the room features are that of the 1990s. Overall my experience was good, I had good food, a nice a/c room, free wifi, paid cash, and my car was intact when I got up the next morning. I recommend the hotel if your passing by.
I was walking across the floor when something sharp poked me in the bottom of my foot. I sat down on the bed and to my horror I had stepped on someone elses nail clipping that had not been swept up when the last occupant left. Here it was sticking in my foot! The weather was nice that night so we decided to sleep with the window open. We were on the second floor. There was no screen in the window. Thank heavens there were no small children staying with us. Then there was a random phone call at 3am. So much for a good nights sleep. Oh, and also the barking dogs. It is great you are a pet friendly hotel but not everyone wants to hear a dog barking at 11 at night.
Friendly staff, spartan but newly renovated and clean rooms. Short on amenities (bring your own tissues, shampoo). Wifi is ok but drops frequently. CRT TV with a converter box. Only stairs to the second floor. Hot water takes a little while but once it comes its very hot.
At first was a little skeptical but my wife actually went in there and ask the lady in the front can she see the rooms first before reserving the room which i was a little embarrassed but the girl in the desk was pretty cool about it and she was really nice and helpful. Well the rooms were clean and very spacey, if im back in town i would definitely stay here again we had a good experience so for the girl that worked the night shift thank you for being patient and kind.
Room was clean. Hallway & entry had musty smell. ALL doors looked like they had been through a few too many bar brawls(inside & out). Cell phone coverage was at 1 bar, internet was sporadic. Exterior appeared in good condition. Hotel could use a few tweaks to get rating up.
Absolutely surprised, very neat wooden floors garunteed the look of cleaners. Front lobby help was all we could ask for. Came to Springfield to see our son off (national guard) on his second tour and the last thing we worried about was our Motel 6 stay. Oh, also brought our pet. They were very accommodating!
This motel sucks. Worst experience ever. 4 of us went to Springfield to pain some schools and our company booked us two rooms here for two nights. Our boss paid and gave us room keys at 12pm. We got to The rooms at 1am and were unwinding and getting ready for bed when we seen 2 cockroaches and a bedbug in one room and more cockroaches in the other room. We put them in zip lock bags and went downstairs to the front desk. They didnt want to change our rooms Until we asked for our money back. They put us in another room with roaches, we checked pillows and they had mold on them and no tv . We went back and they gave us two rooms with 1 bed and 1 couch. No tv no microwave and just one set of sheets per room. We didnt get to sleep until 4am. They still havent refunded our night. And when i spoke with the owner or manager he said this is springfield, theres roaches everywhere. Idk where this is considered okay but you cant rent a room in the condition they are in. They might be out dated and they might not all have microwaves or mini fridges but they canmot have bedbugs and cockroaches. I will never stay here again nor will i even recommend anyone here
Although the location for the hotel was perfect for my cousins graduation from Wittenberg University, everuthing about the hotel was AWFUL. In fact we tried to get into several hotels in the area regardless of price but they were all completely booked. The smell of smoke in the non smoking rooms, no ironing board, unhelpful employees, it was something I would never do again..
This hotel just opened as the Motel 6 recently, (so I was told). I travel a lot for my job and I travel with my dog. One of the things I love about Motel 6 is the fact that they are pet friendly and rarely, if ever, charge a pet fee. It is always my preferred choice of Motels. However, it is a always a complete gamble when I do. I would say the majority of this motel chain are always clean, but when they arent they REALLY arent. This Motel 6 was very clean. When I checked in, there was a very sweet young woman who was most helpful. I told her when I checked in that I wanted a non-smoking room and that I am allergic to cigarette smoke so please put me as far away from any smoking rooms, if they even have those anymore. She said of course. This was the biggest motel 6 I have ever seen. I had to drive around to the rear of the building 3 large entrances away from main entrance. Which really wasnt an issue at all. I walk into the lobby entrance of my are of the building and I smell a stench, not sure exactly what it was, maybe damp with a hint of cigarette smoke? Which should have been my first clue. My room was very nice. It still had a damp smell to it. That happens when no one has used the room in awhile, so I turned on the AC and thought nothing more of it. As the evening progressed, I started gettting sick. The vent in the bathroom is turned on automatically with the light, and I could smell smoke coming in very strongly. I called the front desk and I asked if they allowed smoking in the rooms adjacent to mine. She said, NO, but people are allowed to smoke in the back hallway by my room. I asked her why she would put me in a room near ANY smoke, when I told her immediately, I had an allergy to cigarette smoke? She said that all their pet rooms are in that area of the building-next to smokers. I was very upset about this. She said she would offer to move me to another room. I agreed. She moved me to the other side of the building where there was not even a hint of smoke. This situation frustrates me. I am sure this nice young woman was only doing her job in putting me in that room. My question to the managers of all motels and hotels is this: Why would you be more accomodating to drug addicts than to people with pets and/or allergies? (Yes, cigarette smokers are considered drug addicts; it is a chemical dependency). The Surgeon General (the person who sets policy for public health issues in the US) states there is NO SAFE LEVEL of cigarette smoke exposure.. not 1, 2nd or 3rd hand..Why would motel/hotel managers even allow smoking anywhere INSIDE the building? It is a public health concern which is why it is banned in public places in many states!
I have at least 3 complaints about my stay in Motel 6 Springfield. When I checked in I requested a receipt including my companies address. Reception staff was completely incompetent to issue me a receipt. He could not even get the printer to work. After about 15 min I gave up and told him to email it to me. Then he said to my I should not get “hyper”, an utterly insult as I tried to explain to him several times what I needed. The next morning I told him again what I needed. What I received, was the same folio, with my name replaced by the company name.I sent him the Email below to describe again, what I need to have included. No answerI addition, there was no shampoo in the room.Motel 6 is off my list for future visits
Drug hotel. Like women being trafficked too given the amount of men coming and going. I was approached at check in for both money and drugs. Called local police to see if I was safe. Toilet did not flush and bathtub was filthy. Traveling with Dogs or would have left. Would give zero stars if I could. Oh and desk clerk started to argue with me about connecting rooms. Ugly awful horrible experience.
Decent enough place but the internet service cuts in and out and is horrible.Edit on 9-18-19Greedy owners jacked up the price to $79 night plus tax, with zero improvements to rooms or property. This is at best a $55 place of lodging, better accommodations can be found as cheap or cheaper less than 5 miles away.
Outside looks ok. Check in was fine. Driving around and entering the C door you just smell pot. Got kids was pretty horrific. People hanging out in the hall ways most likely selling or buying drugs. 4 stars because a hotel with 9 people sitting out front on milk crates drinking 40 ounces in Columbus wanted $140 a night. So for the comparable value of the neighboring town its really not all that bad.
Aweful! Bad odor. Wall falling apart. Crud on second bed headboard. Mold on caulk in tub. Carpet falling apart, chair had holes in it, no continental breakfast. If i hadnt been driving for 17 hours i would have gotten my money back and gone some where else. I dont know where the reviewers who rated this place high stayed but it wasnt in this dump.
My wife woke up to a bed bug crawling on my face. We put it in a clear cup of water and showed it to the clerk when we checked out and she acted like it was a common house fly so Im guessing shes used to customers finding these bugs. We wasnt offered a refund, free nights stay ( which Ill never stay there again) or even a apology. I had to go to the laundry mat and laundry all our clothes so we dont take the bugs home with us. This could have been accommodated and I wouldve been a ok customer but it was left alone and I was sent to the laundry mat to spend another $30 of vacation money that was unnecessary
I rented a room. The furniture was mis matched and the room looked bare.I tried to turn on the tv and it would not work. The TV was unpluggee when I Came inI plugged it in and it still would not work.I then called the front desk. The front desk clerk said he would be right down, and never showed up. I called back 3 hours later and he said he would be right down, I said forget it its 2:48 am.The A/C didnt work right and the tub wasnt very clean.I called the front desk at 8:00 am and asked to speak to the GM or front desk manager. I Was advised that they were not here. I spoke to the deak clerk to complain and the front desk clerk started talking to someone else when I was trying to expmain my problem. Very Rude. She totally ignored me. I hung up the phone.I am calling motel 6 customer service because I am getting no service or respect here at this place.

2022-01-01My mom stayed here and I wanted to give you an honest review since I traveled a lot over the years (unlike her) and stayed in MANY hotels/motels.Pros: Nice staff, price, a lot of parking, spacious suite, nice lobby, clean towels, clean room, no bugs (at least not on the bed top)CONS: NO ELEVATOR, NO MICROWAVE, NO COFFEE MAKER IN THE ROOM, ICE MACHINE BROKEN, SODA MACHINE OUT OF ORDER, NO SHAMPOO/CONDITIONER, NOISY AF (neighbors slamming doors all night AND I swear I heard the pop of a gun go off), STAINED SHEETS WITH BURN HOLES, SHOWER LEAKED FROM THE TOP (had to use a towel over the top so it wouldnt leak out over the top to flood the floor).

2022-03-19The design and remodeling was nice. CARRIE was awesome super friendly and very consistent and considerate. The property manager Danny was harsh and demanding when we asked for simple fixes to the broken TV and phone in our room and then said after the first stay we werent allowed back. This was inconsistent and in my opinion homophobic to my needs. He was demanding we pay 100$ security deposit after check in. We will not come back because of Danny and only would because of Carrie.

2022-04-23I smelled cigarette smoke as soon as I walked in. Upon arriving, the place looked sketchy. I just needed a room for one night and I thought paying under $100 would be okay but I would recommend any other hotel. My room was huge the one of the sheets on the bed had burnt holes in. One window had a huge hole, like someone attempted to shoot with a gun, and the glass is shattered. The bathroom was clean which was nice. But if you’re wanting to feel safe, I would suggest another place. Spend your money, it’s worth it.

2022-04-06Positive: Clean...friendly and respectful staff... Negative: Maybe have some kind of pad for pets in thecpet friendly rooms if they are not accustomed to the slick floor, that could be cleaned after use. Make sure stairs have a solid kick instead of being able to see through...some dogs are afraid to go up stairs

2022-06-29Rooms are being remodeled while guests stay in them. Remodel job isnt going that great, one star motel so not much to expect. No security cameras that I saw, mostly not so great people come here.

2022-06-29Layout of room could be more client-friendly. Only one bedside stand electric plugs not convenient and no toilet paper holder.

2021-11-30Positive: Theyd have a nice area to walk my service dog if it werent for broken liquor bottles all in the grass Negative: Found a syringe full of heroin on the floor under the head of the bed. The manager insinuated it was mine!! The bed covers had several burn holes in them. House keeping is a JOKE at best.Do NOT recommend!

2022-01-13STOLEN CAR and TRAILER. My car and trailer full of my belongings were stolen from the parking lot. The police told me this has happened here multiple times. My car alarm had gone off 40 minutes on the security video and no one did anything about it. The room was also terrible. Do not stay here

2021-11-03Women at front desk was not friendly at all and wouldnt even make eye contact. The place smelled like weed. The walls and baseboards were dirty. And the floor was sticky. There was an interesting character roaming around the parking lot. Didnt feel safe or welcoming at all.
