Came at 7:45, to find out they were closing at 8 instead of 8:30. The server rushed us to order and was kind enough to let us know technically she didn’t have to take us since it was after 7:30. Made us order immediately, no salads first everything came in 5 minutes. Ordered a dessert drink, had bugs in it when delivered. Had it remade, two bugs. Must be a fly problem at bar and a staffing issue, from a place that normally never disappoints this was a let down
Do not go. Started by sitting for 25 minutes with just water in front of us. When our order was taken only 2 of the 5 items were correct. 2 salads never came put and the third had to be changed 15 minutes later because it was out. Wanted refills of wine, never happened. Asked for extra spicy pasta, was the same as the regular dish ordered by another member of the party. We were told we must be ready with our dessert order at the end all the while thanks for being patient was preached at us. We didnt have a choice....
Service was horrible! Food was definitely not good. Fettuccine noodles werent done. Definitely not enough sauce when I got mine, my cousin didnt have enough sauce either. Had to wait for refills on drinks. Bread served was HARD!!!! Salad was served with pasta salad on top of it. Ewe!! I sent my food back because the taste wasnt right. Never did I think food could be that awful!!! Will not return to this restaurant!
Called and made a reservation on Tuesday only to find out the reservation was not on their list when we showed up on Friday. They eventually did find us a table in the very noisy bar area.If you make a reservation, call back to ensure it got on the computer reservation list. No excuse for this
I was very underwhelmed by nearly everything at morettis. There is another restaurant with the same name on sawmill road that blows this one away. The food that both my wife and I ordered was sub par. Mine was so salty and the pasta smothered in so much sauce that I couldn’t even eat half of it. The calamari was so chewy I had to take a drink to be able to get it down. The service from the waiter was slow and unknowledgeable. I don’t often had a bad experience at a restaurant, but I was very disappointed we chose this place for our date night. I will not eat here again.
We loved it!! To start, bread and butter was phenomenal. I can see why they sell their butter to take home. My husband and I each ordered a Caesar salad. I had the Chicken Moretti and he ordered the Cheese Ravioli. Both dishes were fantastic, very flavorful. Great wine list. Service was excellent, she kept our drinks full, was pleasant and checked on us throughout our meal. My only regret is not getting tiramisu to go! Cant wait to come back and try more delicious dishes at this restaurant!
The food here is good. The happy hour prices are outstanding. But those facts arenot the best things about this restaurant. Your precious 4 - legged children are welcome to eat with you on the patio. I once went to went to a birthday party there when I was hand feeding an infant orphan kitten. After I asked them for warm water to warm up the formula in the tiny baby bottle, all the wait staff had to come to see the baby eat. Overall, their waiters are great.I have one serious complaint. They carry tons of crappie craft beers on tap, but no normal draft beer. Couldnt they allocate one tap for normal people who dont like silly fads!!!!
Wow! We ordered delivery and everything was absolutely delicious!!! The portions are large and everything tasted beyond amazing! I had a dear Italian friend, and amazing cook, pass away a few years ago and crave her authentic Italian cuisine. Morettis hit the nail on the head!
Last night [7-2-2021], the Upper Arlington High School Class of 1971 held the second of the three events of its 50-Year Class Reunion on the outdoor patio at Morettis of Arlington. Our large group of 67-year-olds and 68-year-olds had exclusive access to the outdoor patio on a thankfully-not-too-hot July evening. The food [which had been described on our reunion schedule as heavy appetizers / hors doeuvres] had been absolutely delicious and actually had been far more filling than most appetizers or hors doeuvres would have been.Among the items that on the buffet table near the outdoor patio had been dinner rolls with garlic/herb butter, several different styles of pizza [though with a different name that I cannot remember], meatballs [that been absolutely huge], smaller balls that had not been meatballs [that may have been vegetarian], antipasto [that had been quite delicious], and chicken wings. While I had been briefly visiting the actual Morettis of Arlington restaurant so that I would be able to use the bathroom, I had been so impressed by the interior design of that restaurant that I took many pictures during the next five minutes; I have now posted seven of those pictures to Google Maps.Back outside, near the end of our reunion gathering, what had been the buffet table had become a dessert table; the chocolate cake with chocolate icing, that had been served on that same table [along with several other desserts], had been absolutely delicious.I now want to return to Morettis of Arlington so that I will be able to order and eat from their regular menu.
This is hands down, the best Italian my wife and I have ever eaten! Incredibly fresh, wait staff is hella friendly, good drinks, and the owner frequently makes the rounds and chats with everyone. Shes super accommodating. My wife and I were going to have our rehearsal dinner there, but we needed more space. Beautiful spot.
This native New Yorker loves Moretti’s food. I’ve been eating here for years and I’ve never had a bad dish. The portions are huge and for the price it’s a great deal. I usually can easily take home half of my entree for another meal the next day. I really love going in the summertime and sitting outside . It’s in a little retro strip mall, and they’ve done a lovely job of creating a nice outdoor space.
My husband and I dined here on New Years Eve. We had an 8:30 reservation and we were not seated until 9:05, problem #1. We sat in the very cold entrance way for 35 minutes! Obviously it was busy because it was a holiday, but this is why we made a reservation. When we finally got our seats, we ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer. Server brought it out and it was cold! I mean no warmth at all. I wanted to send it back but it was already so late and the waitress had mentioned twice that you close at 9, hinting to us that she should already be done. She also mentioned how she came in at 3:30 and hadnt had a break. As for the entrees, I ordered the Gnocchi Bolognese and my husband ordered the lasagna. I have nothing great to say about my meal. It was cold just like the brussel sprouts. A woman at the table next to us ordered the same thing and sent hers back because it was cold. Someone else at their table had cold food as well. I opted to fill up on bread and just take my food home with me. My husband had the lasagna. His was piping hot and looked very cheesy. My issue is this; I realize you were busy, but it isnt that difficult to serve hot food. Obviously it was not made to order. This was a big disappointment and a waste of money. I chose to email your restaurant before leaving a negative review but got no reply.I see your reply Moretti family. It does not entice me to come back and spend more of my hard earned money there.
The food was excellent. I grew up in an Italian family. So finding an Italian restaurant. That is up to Snuff. With my expectations is very difficult to do. The veal Moretti was outstanding the crust was season perfectly. The veal was cooked to perfection and the fettuccine is a must-try. I would highly recommend Morettis Upper Arlington!!!
I have been going to the Morettis familys group of restaurants for nearly 30 years. The food and atmosphere along with the exquisite service has always been an incredible and experience.Morettis is a great place to celebrate a special occasion or to treat yourself to some great authentic Italian food anytime. The bar offers many different wines along with some great cocktails. The bartenders are always friendly and take great care of you.The owners have over 40 years of experience and really know the restaurant industry. I would highly recommend Morettis of Arlington. Thank you for such great experiences.
My wife and I didnt have a reservation on a Saturday night but got a seat near the bar. We had a couple drinks and enjoyed their awesome butter with bread and shared a Mediterranean salad. For our entree we split the brussel sprout and chicken meatball risotto. It was perfect for two people and WOW! Absolutely one of the best dishes we have ever eaten! We plan to return as much as possible! Only disappointment is that theyre closed on Sundays.
Came here on Monday night, so no wait at all. Waitress was very friendly and right on time with each course. Food was AWESOME, wow! Three grown men took home leftovers. Excellent flavor in everything. A little upscale for us, but they let us in anyway :-) Would be an impressive date place, at any age.
What did I love everything! From the home made sauces, pastas, and meatballs! The service from the hostess to the server was amazing! The gluten free options are wonderful! Also if your a vegetarian lots of options as well! I would recomend morettis to any and everyone!!! Go go go now! Also patio season is amazing, their patio is a relaxing way to finish the work week or day!
It was THE loudest restaurant we have ever been in. We were seated immediately inside the room at a 2 top patio table they had set up against the wall to just accommodate 2 extra bodies. We felt like we were being singled out and punished. Plus, it was cold, being almost directly in the path of the hall to the door. The mussels were ok, smallish, not seasoned much. Prosciutto bruschetta was good, but not extraordinary. Had to ask for water refills pretty quickly since the water glasses are kind of small. The bread was doughy, but the whipped vegetable butter was delicious! We couldnt talk across the table because we couldnt hear each other. What Im saying is, its not a quiet romantic place for couples. Our entrees were quite good. We had the sausage lasagne and beef and truffle ravioli. Our server was friendly and food came out rather promptly. Its unfortunate that we wont go back there because the rest of the menu looked appealing. Well go back to the Sawmill location, where the atmosphere is more accommodating to inside voices.
Great value, solid food, friendly attentive staff. You wont leave hungry and the left overs make for a great lunch the next day. Veal Piccata is my go to dish, but you can;t go wrong with the fresh made pasta meatball. For something lighter, Ill stop in for a glass of wine and a Italian taco or two.
We were in for dinner 6 months ago they ignored us consistently at our table for literally 45 minutes. It took that long to get water. Six months later we thought we would try again with a to go order. While placing the order I received significant attitude from the person taking the order who was frustrated with us because the menu online no longer reflected what they sell for takeout. I suggested that they might update the menu and with serious attitude the hostess let me know I should take it up with management. What was once a staple of UA is now on par with Giant Eagle Marketplace in terms of service. Many better Italian options in the area Id suggest you pass on this one.
I could never be more happy with the service I received the other night!!! Not only was I greeted with a smile I was asked how my day was which was nice!!! I also could not give a better review for the chefs that work in the back. My food was amazing!!! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, family, business, parties, etc. looking for a nice Italian meal!!!
Love this place! They treat you like family. The food is authentic, plentiful and outstanding. Wine selection is wonderful and there is something to compliment any choice you make. The service is right on point and there is no delay from the kitchen at all! Call ahead for reservations. Its a great place, highly recommended and very popular! Have a great time!
The service was terrible, got our orders wrong and to make matters worse when I asked for tomato sauce for my vegetarian sisters pasta, they put meat sauce in it instead. She hasnt eaten meat in over 10 years! They apparently dont know how to listen when youre ordering.
I will never go to Morettis again!!. The service was terrible. We waited for over an hour for our food once we ordered it. Was ready to leave and walk out when the waitress finally appeared and said the food would be out shortly. When the food came it was cold. The waitress never really checked on us or offered us any more bread or any explanation until we told her we were going to leave. She never removed the dirty plates from the one loaf of bread that we received we arrived.
Its a nice enough neighborhood Italian restaurant. A review can only be based on prior experiences at similar establishments. On a cold December evening we changed tables before we even saw our server. The cold air flows right into the dining room from the front door. Looking around, we saw several patrons with their coats over their shoulders or on. An extensive choice wine list, and a bottle of Pinot noir later, we were set. Linen napkins and heavy silverware adoring the table. Nice heavy stemware for water. I think a nicer touch would have been linen tablecloths or to go so far as linen chair covers. Tables and high back booths are available. There was one mismatch color and shaped booth in the entire place. We kept wondering what had happened to the original. They did not even cover it with the same colored black fabric. The menu contained many similar choices to most Italian restaurants. The server bragged of their house made sauce, and house made pasta. I asked about the sausage is being made on premise. She found out from the kitchen that they are not theirs.Bread is brought to the table complementary with an herb butter. We skipped the appetizers because of the reviews for the large portions. A wedge salad arrived only to be looking less of a wedge. It was a 1 inch lettuce steak with a sprinkle of toppings. For seven dollars, we sent it back for the bacon and Gorgonzola salad which another guest was also eating. It comes served in a 16 inch bowl. Very large! while waiting for the salad, our server brought us a sample laying of their house made Italian wedding soup. The broth had a strange smell and taste to it for me. Kind of a celery broth. It did not appeal to me. It was however packed with ingredients.I had a hard time deciding what to order, so I ordered the Italian plate which is a sampling of many. It came with a cheese ravioli, spaghetti and marinara, grilled chicken, eggplant, and sausage with peppers onions and mushrooms. Obviously it was a large platter. But when it arrived the eggplant was missing. The server acknowledged it when setting it down and said that it would be out shortly.I asked for a re-cook of the grilled chicken. It was very flat and over cooked, tough. When the re-cook arrived, it appeared to have no seasoning other than some parsley sprinkled on top. I was underwhelmed. The pasta was fine. I rarely get egg plant, but do not dislike it. It was breaded with Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. The only flavoring I got was from the breading. I also found the cheese ravioli to be about 4 inches large, and meh. The consistency was firmer and tougher than the pasta. I used a knife to save my fork the strain. The sausage was the greatest pop of flavor on the table. I first thought it was too overcooked. Digging through the peppers and onions, I found 3 slices on each sausage. Why would someone purposely release the moist flavor to the grates of the grill?I think all of this mediocrity is the kitchen staffs blame. The service was spot on. My only critique to her would be, to learn proper serving techniques. Always serve the ladies first. Serve from one side, clear from the other. Do not pour splashing wine from across the table. The refills and pre-bussing were very attentive. She missed opportunities to refill our wine glasses with the bottle and offer another bottle. Its ok here. I will return if guests invite us, but not invite guests. The choices of better quality Italian fare is plentiful in Columbus.XP#UpCloseSavor
If youve had access to real Italian food, you know how mediocre the dishes here can be. Columbus deserves an authentic Italian restaurant, and this isnt it in any way shape or form. Its good food, but the ingredients are average, the dishes average, the decor and staff are average. Everything is terribly average.
I really wanted to like this place. We came with a groupon. Ill go dish by dish.Appetizer - prosciutto bruschetta, 5 stars so far. This thing was amazing with great flavor and proportions. Couldnt be happier.Salad - the salad was terrible, and I mean terrible. Old nasty lettuce and veggies and the noodles did not help it at all. I was extremely unimpressed at this point.Dinner carbonara - as my favorite Italian dish, this was really bad. It tasted nothing like carbonara typically does, and I didnt even take the leftovers home it was so bad. =(My wifes dinner was a chicken dish w polenta that she liked ok, but not enough to warrant us to come back here. I heard the other morettis up north is better so we may give that one a try.
When it comes to Italian restaurants I am a tough review having grown up in a NY Italian restaurant family. With that in mind, I give Moretti’s of Arlington 4 solid stars. Great portions, pleasant service and a surprisingly nice and unique take traditional family style Italian. They are in my rotation for must visits when in Columbus.
Awful service. Very very slow. Beer that was showing on the menu, not in stock. Cant find kids menus. Forgot drink order. No vanilla ice cream for kids. Every 2 or 3 lights on patio arent working. Bill was wrong. This is just one outing. Food is OK. Way better options out there. Ownership needs to get their act together...problem is people in UA have nowhere else to go so sub-standard will probably continue..
To celebrate Valentines day my boyfriend and I decided to dine at Morettis of Arlington and we were not disappointed! Our waitress, Season, was friendly and offered various suggestions on meatless entrees for us. I chose the Smoke Gouda Mac and Cheese and my boyfriend opted for the Vegetarian Lasagna which were both absolutely delicious. The house salad was also AMAZING. The staff was friendly and the food was amazing. My only complaint was the seating was a little cramped, but I would definitely dine here again.
Oh my goodness. Went to morettis at upper Arlington. Reservations made for 7pm for birthday dinner for four. Service was so slow, finally orders were taken. One dinner guest asked to be served crab cakes with his salad. Salad came out but no crab cakes. Server no where t o be found. My order of the angry italian was to be sold out per the manager so I ordered the standard lasagne to ,finally dinner was served along with the original order of crab cakes to 3 of us. The 4th person got served some 10 to 15 minutes later. My lasagne was burnt but covered in sauce. The birthday person and I ordered cheesecakes, but they were all sold out.... $130 down the drain. We all agreed never to visit there again , totally disappointed. The food and service had really gotten bad.The angry Italian 😔😔😔😔
This was our second time to the restaurant and decided to come again for our anniversary - bad idea. My husband and I both ordered dishes with the gorgonzola cream sauce and both got terrible food poisoning. Needless to say it was a terrible night for both of us and Im glad I didnt land in the hospital at 31 weeks pregnant. Not planning on ever going again!
Theres nothing wrong with Morettis of Arlington. Tim was taught buy some of the best restaurant tours in existence how to please a customer. All the food is good. He knows when to hold them and when to fold them when it comes to his chefs. My personal favorite is the BBQ chicken pesto flatbread pizza witches a recipe would never think that I would like looking at it on a menu but after trying a piece by accident, I always think Im going to order something different when I eat from here I always end up ordering the same Pizza its so good.I dont drink and the venue is inherently Arlingtonian. Now to combat some of the previous comments on here: Morettis of Arlington Morettis sawmill are two completely different restaurants. They are not to be considered in competition with each other in any way but they have the same family name in their title which may be confusing to some people.Morettis of Arlington is it more Progressive take on classic Italian cuisine; period.
Went here once (our first visit). The meal was average and we had ordered a bottle of wine. Someone sent the bus boy to our table to ask if we could finish up (because they needed the table)--we were so enraged we didnt say a word to anyone (e.g. the Manager) because I knew I would just never come back.
Ill be honest - we love Morettis on sawmill but finally decided to give this morettis a shot. To be fair - we were comparing everything against the best of the best (morettis on sawmill) and thats a tough act to follow! Heres the breakdown on comparisons: bread= Arlington. Butter= Sawmill. Red sauce= Arlington. Cream sauce= Sawmill. Atmosphere = Arlington. HOWEVER my overall pick is hands down Morettis on Sawmill. What sawmill does better they do exceptionally better and what they do second only to Arlington on, its only by the tiniest of margins. Tommy Moretti - you are my go to for the best Italian outside of Italy. .. but Timmy... your meatballs are true perfection.
Delicious house made fresh pasta, and a bread loaf they bake themselves. You will eat all your points at dinner, so save them up! wonderful liquor selection and cocktails as well. Great atmosphere and great staff. I had dinner there for the first time last night and I am definitely going back, I’m so happy to have found it.

2022-02-19Ugh, the nerve of this restaurant for being so excellent.Amazing food! The whole experience from start to finish was exceptional. Our waitress was very friendly and kind. We were blessed to have had a surprise guest appearance from none other than the FAMOUS NICK himself. The food could not have been any better. The portion sizes were enormous. It is a great restaurant to get an authentic Italian meal.Thank you Morettis from table 15♡

2022-06-11I am pretty picky when it comes to restaurants, but this place was outstanding....had to leave a review. Amazing bread and large class of wine. Best wedding soup Ive ever had and huge portion of lasagna. Loved everything. Best service weve had in a while. Highly recommend!!

2022-04-30We ordered via doordash and cannot wait to visit in person, the flatbreads were so amazing we ended up just feasting on those alone and saving the entrees we ordered for the next days lunch. I was never so excited to eat leftovers the next day, the veggie lasagna was amazing and my girlfriend loved her chicken dish just as much!Im typically not a huge fan of Italian food in general, but this was by far the best Ive had in my 22 years living in Columbus!

2022-04-16$42 for sticky spaghetti and meatballs and an overtly acidic attitude from the cashier.Ordered what I thought was a spaghetti and meatball entree (House Spaghetti or Paccheri Rigatoni and Meatballs), got home to find that I had only received meatballs for $21. Not a problem, I thought, so I called in to explain the issue and see if I could salvage my meal (meatballs with no spaghetti?) Showed up a few minutes later and was curtly informed by the employee that the portion of spaghetti was going to cost me another $21. I foolishly handed over more of my money, not wanting to make a scene or argue at the time. For my $21 I got a styrofoam to-go container of congealed noodles. Definitely not a good experience, I left feeling ripped off. Would not recommend.

2022-09-02Generic, cold ambience. Slow service/understaffed both times Ive been. Food is mediocre at best. Overpriced. Multiple pasta dishes came out with almost no sauce (one super watery and once super dry)

2020-10-27Always love a good visit to Morettis, I leave uncomfortably full and extremely satisfied. The house salad is amazing and unique and the Veal Moretti is my hands down favorite plate. Friendly service and understated atmosphere, great drink selection. Highly recommended for a delicious Italian meal. Come hungry, youll need all the room your stomach can muster!

2021-11-24While we had fantastic service, we should have had dessert first. My husband and I went to Moretti’s to celebrate our promotions at work. A friend recommended this restaurant as we both love Italian food. I was super excited and looking at the menu days before to figure out what I wanted. We ordered the small plate of meatballs which needed a lot more seasoning. Without the tomato sauce and cheese they would have been extremely bland.I ordered the short ribs with smoked mozzarella ravioli. The sauce was a new taste for me and the smoked mozzarella ravioli had the texture of bad mashed potatoes. The highlight was how generous the kitchen was with the portion of short ribs for the dish. It was quite generous and they were excellently prepared. Very tender and delicious. A little too heavy on the spinach though. My husband ordered the angry Italian flatbread. According to him it was quite flavorless and disappointing. There were also too many tomatoes on top for his liking. For dessert I ordered the chocolate cake and my husband ordered the chocolate cheesecake. My cake was probably the best thing that either of us had the entire meal. Even then, it was a little too heavy and not spongy or light enough for my preference. My husband’s chocolate cheesecake was supposed to come served with fresh berries but there weren’t any. Maybe they ran out or no longer add them, but if they are on the menu, they should be on the dish.We both left hungry but the service was good and our server was very kind and attentive. We probably won’t be going back (even for the cake…I can make that myself) but maybe we will give it another try and order something else and have the dessert first.

2022-03-22Amazing food. Consistently delicious and good portions. The service could be better. We walked in and stood at the entrance for a good 5-10 minutes with no one greeting us. We had to seek out a hostess to seat us.
