I have had a few of my relatives in this facility for rehab. It has always been amazing! My Great Aunt is currently in the facility for rehab and she has had no complaints and lots of positive feedback on her treatment! They have also been great with communicating with the patient and family in regards to plan of care. She is unfortunately a repeat attendee here but she obviously loves it when she does need inpatient rehab because she always asks to come to mill run! Thank you so much!!

Lack of ability to maintain dignity and concerns of integrity. Lack of following nursing core values. Where to start... My father was sent her after having a partial hip replacement. He’s a 75 yr old man who initially did not realize the safety concerns of this place. My father told me that he was left on the toilet for over an hour and the nurse said she missed his call light. Being a nurse myself there are numerous safety concerns of him being a fall risk as well as sitting too long. When I called to ask about fall precautions such as bed alarm, gate belt, wrist band etc. I never received a call back. This is quite alarming to me due to his condition. My sister picked my father up from being discharged and said he smelled like urine. When she asked when is the last time he bathed he said only once since he’s been there. The man has been there for 3 weeks. He said you have to put in for a shower etc. that is understandable but as a nurse and fellow REGISTERED nurses working there I am quite concerned why no one notified the family or even found other alternatives such as bath wipes. Or could it be he was uncomfortable with showering in front of others. This is basic therapeutic communication. I have never in my life sent a Pt home to their family disheveled and smelling like urine. Bringing him home he needed bathed and his skin was dry. Which again sets alarms bells as to why no one did a skin assessment or body assessment on him. Skin breakdown and ulcers is a big issues with immobility. Although you can only discuss patient care with certain family members I had questions about this place in general and how they manage and maintain things. I won’t be calling a second time but will be reporting this agency as well as contacting the Ohio board of nursing. There is no reason why he was left in these conditions and no reason why this was not communicated to family. If you have a family member there please advocate for them. Nurses are busy people and overworked but that’s not an excuse to provide basic care.

Im sitting here in the ER at Doctors West with my mom. She is resting comfortably at the moment. She is being transferred to Grant for a fractured sternum.I am so frustrated and have so many answers and the rehabilitation center will not answer my questions on the phone nor would they answered them when I drove to the facility to try to get answers as to what happened and why.My mom went to this facility for rehabilitation after hip surgery. Upon admission to the facility there was a discussion between our family and their staff that she was deemed a high falls risk it should have three out of four bed rails up at all times. Somebody at their facility made the decision to remove all of the bed rails without consulting our family. I want to know who made that decision and why? I also want to know why there was no bed alarm on her bed, why there was no falls guard mat on the floor, or why she did not have a constant attendant? When Rodger, the nurse in charge of her care called me this morning and told me about the accident, I asked or her bed rails not up? And he said I dont know. And then when I called the facility after I found out the extent of her injuries and asked to get about the bed rails he told me that they were removed last night. I asked why and he could not tell me. I told him I wanted to speak to somebody who could answer this question. Somebody named Debbie called me and left me a very snippy message while I I was speaking to her Care staff in the emergency department at Doctors West. Your message said she would be at the facility for a while. I called back and left a message. Waited no return call and every time I call they send me straight to her voice mail. So I went to the facility and she didnt want to talk to me then apparently.Monday morning phone calls will be placed to the Ombudsman, Joint Commission, Department of Health and Medicare.

My father was there for rehab . Poor listening, communication and nursing aid/nurse skills. It would take days for someone to get back to you if you called(Especially the social worker-Georgette--should be seriously considered to be terminated). Even the hospital that my father was cared for was trying to follow up on his therapy and filing the correct paperwork for him to return to short term therapy on time. The lack of follow through has now cost my father a bill from your facility that he shouldnt have to pay. The nurse aids and some, not all nurses ignore there patients, especially on the weekends. Most of them dont know how to handle a variety of needs from their patients especially ones that have brain trauma or mental needs(dementia). I think if families could go in and see how their loved ones are treated in the rehab/nursing home area....you would have a lot of empty rooms. If you feel the need to contact, I dont want anyone from that facility to contact I prefer someone at your corporate location.

This is more than just a nursing home - they treat you like family. All of the nurses were exceptional with my mother and took the time to get to know her. When my mother passed, they made sure I had something to drink and was comfortable while we waited for the funeral home to pick her up and then the entire staff stopped what they were doing and walked with us to the funeral van!I always loved the gardens and little areas they had on sight to meet with your loved ones. The food was decent and they do their best to keep the facility as clean as possible. The activities directors are a hoot and keep the residents engaged. My mom was there for almost 2 years and their turnover was very low.

I have been in Mill Run Gardens and Care Center 3 times and I’m currently in there. I have had wonderful care. The therapy staff is exceptional. Anyone of them would be good if you were assigned to them. During the day time Iam partial to having Chelsey, the charge nurse, as my nurse but all of the Nurses in the 100 hall, Paige and Winter are great and I have had no problems with the night shift nurses either. I would say overall my visits have been great. The kitchen’s food is like going to a restaurant. They have also accommodated special requests I have given them. Then Adam, the Nursing Home Administrator, walks around daily and says hi to each person and asks if they have any concerns. I feel this is the best nursing home in the Hilliard area and I have been in 2 other facilities In Hilliard.

I don’t know where to start, my grandma was in there for approximately 6 months and she was mentally tortured there with comments like “your family doesn’t want you” etc she was a stroke patient that needed intensive care. The social worker georgette definitely needs to be terminated, very rude and unhelpful and made my grandma out a liar.

My loved one’s health concerns And diet orders were routinely ignored as were my concerns when expressed to nursing and management staff. Their so-called care led to an admit directly to ICU. Then to add insult to injury, after talking to the nursing manager regarding the lack of care that led to this admit she told me she hoped we would consider Mill Run In the future. Apparently poor listening skills are a blanket job requirement for this place.

My mother in law was sent here last Friday, they were great to her until this past Thursday when she got extremely sick. Her bp was scary low as well as her oxygen levels and she was hallucinating. They did x-rays and bloodwork, after asking several times what the results were the night nurse told us her bloodwork was fine and shes just deyhdrated. The next morning I get there and the morning nurse told me that her bloodwork was not normal and its all bad. This continues on with different info and her not getting any better, she finally calls me to demand I take her to the hospital. I was told by her nurse, that it is my right to take her but they prefer to keep her there and do everything in house. Well, we get to the er and she doesnt have pnemonia, she has a punctured lung that is full of fluid. I go in this morning to tell the nurse that she wont be back and I was gathering her things (its the same one from last night) and as I tell her that they mis diagnosis her and shes now in the trauma unit hooked up to machines and requiring surgery, she smiles at me, shrugs her shoulders and walks away.

When it comes to Mill Run Care Center and the Macintosh company where do I start. I have been a loyal and dedicated employee at Mill Run Care Center for 15 years. I fully regret my decision 15 years ago to invest my time in a company that doesnt care about their dedicated employees that make MRCC a great place to work and a great place to go for medical care. They always go out of their way to make sure the new employees are happy, in the meantime the employees that have been with the company for long time get a slap in the face. When you bring a legit concern to their attention they listen to you and then just laugh about it because they know nothing will be done about it. That is just a few reasons, which there are a lot more about why I fully regret my decision 15 years ago. I would not recommend anyone taking a position at this company or MRCC.
