Micro Center in other cities:
Very friendly, wasnt too pushy, assisted us with anything we asked them, they are always knowledgeable about anything we asked them. Well? There was 1 guy that really did not look like he fit into the group and told us he had no idea what we were talking about. But everyone else was very nice and helpful.
My son had a monster gaming computer built by these fine folks. It was complicated. Newest. Latest greatest beast of a computer. Like almost 7k. And there were changes that had to be made during build that the techs didnt realize or see a problem with at build order.. however they lined it out, in part by having us bring cables that they do not have carry or sell yet. Odd. But we had to order from Amazon, wait for delivery, then bring to pickup to be installed. Upon arriving. My son noticed a panel hadnt been removed. Tech thought it couldnt. But had to be to keep airflow opened up... all in all, very happy with the computer that took about a week or two to build (vacations played a part. . But everyone deserves a vacation). For what it is. All things considered, it wasnt bad... at all. Their service was worth the money to build it. And its a monster! He is extremely happy with performance.
This place is better than Best Buy can even ever ever imagined they have everything and anything that you want to buy. Plus the website enhances your shopping experience even more. And there is plenty of salesman and women inside the store to help you do anything or get anything that you need
My favorite computer store ever! My go-to for supplies. Never have been disappointed. The staff are great and are willing to assist with whatever task you need. I love that they dont just hire certified technicians but real full-on computer techs and geeks so they LOVE what they do and are a real help.
Microcenter is my favorite store. Has almost everything a tech guy could want and then some. Service is always 10/10, with extremely knowledgeable and professional CSRs roaming the store constantly to aid customers. Many of them can handle some of the most advanced IT questions on the spot, which is super helpful.I never shop anywhere else for PC parts and I never will so long as this store exists.
My first time in a Mirco Center! My mind was blown, they had a pretty big build your own section with lots of stock. A guy helped me basically pick all my parts and explained how to pick a case. I actually went back and bought a case, the Lian Li O11 Dynamic Evo. They were really nice and understanding.Really nice people who are willing to teach you, great selection, prices could but a little better but what can you expect, really? Will visit and buy again!
Though this place had a ton of great and equipment and pretty much everything you needed to do any kind of gaming, computer work, or photography or was absolutely packed full of people and was very unorganized. We were looking for a monitor and there were none available at the area where it was displayed, but were on the floor half way across the store. Lots of other items seemed misshelved and unorganized. However its redeeming quality was great prices and being a one stop shop for anything you may have needed
Next time not wasting my time with this place. You look on their website it says they have the product you want in stock but when you drive all the way there they either can not find it or its out of stock. Microcenter either teach your employees to find stock in the back or update your website. At least I know when Amazon has it in stock it is in stock. Dont waste your time with this place. Full of employees who only want to help people who dress like they have money. I literally had to drag a employee to help me.
I took my little brother to Microcenter to look for a new keyboard or switches. A gentleman named Noah helped us find exactly what he was looking for. He went out of his way to make sure my brother could test out the switches and would be satisfied with his purchase. Thanks, Noah!
I love Microcenter itself. What I dont love is that youre a lucky duck if you go there on a day when any staff will, on their own, help you.We came in and headed for the repair center (where we had a great experience) which had a considerable line. Two staff members were located right inside front door and we watched as they didnt greet anyone or ask if anyone needed help. They talked to each other for 10-15 minutes before wandering away. A third staff member, who had horrible body odor, pretended to no see any customers while wandering around. I literally saw him averting his eyes from customers. We saw more and more staff, as we shopped, talking to each other but not one single one speaking to customers. When we did need help, we located someone who passed us off to another staff member because there are different departments and pay structures. Honestly, its nearly as bad as having no staff as to having staff that have no interest in customer service. I dont want to shop Amazon, but I keep having this experience at Microcenter, which is just as personable as Amazon. Its frustrating because Microcenter is a great one-stop shop for lots of techie things.
Best computer store EVER!They have almost everything I could ever want computer related. Staff generally know what they are selling in depth. Its not like Walmart where no one ever knows $h1t about anything.Checkout is always fast. They dont have 100 lanes with only 2 open. They have like 8/6 open cause they open the return desk. They dont have a bunch of confusing sales, and a stupid keychain card to get prices I should already be getting. They have great prices and straight-forward sales. They dont try to upsell you on a bunch of expensive stuff you dont need like Best Buy. You go in there for a laptop for school they aint gonna try to push 2k gaming laptop on you, cause they dont make commission on the value of the items you buy. They make commission based on how many people they help. Its also worth mentioning that they have a good selection of projectors and television sets. They also have a Mac section with better prices than the Mac store.Their in person CPU sales are the best. You can find a processor here cheaper than anywhere online during a sale.Microcenter honestly one of the only reasons I dread moving out of Columbus some day. Dont think I can live without it.Gonna take off a star though. You all need to get back the book section. I miss all the programming books. In general that entire area of the store appears unkempt. I love the addition of the new Hakko stuff, and the 3D printers, just do something to get more people back there, and carry more capacitors please! Buckets of them for every uf and Voltage combination possible. There is literally nowhere in Columbus with a capacitor selection that is decent. I have to resort to digikey and that incredibly annoying when you only need one capacitor.
They have nice people working there. they have a lot of gadgets and things Ive wanted on Amazon so you actually check them out before buying. I found the organization of the store a bit confusing but ya its good cuz they have everything - fancy keyboards and switches, small erasable tablets, huion express key remote, Wacom one tablet, many different gaming computer mouses/mice and of course ipads, Samsung tablets, huge monitors and lots of variety that best buy doesnt have on display, tons of make your own pc stuff etc. etc. the guys who work there are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
Great selection of all your computer and tech needs. Many employees available to help you with questions and to locate items that you are interested in. The employees were very friendly and helpful with anything we asked about. Restrooms are located inside and were clean. The store is handicap accessible with parking however the aisles are tight. The Apple section was kind of small but all the other sections were pretty large. Many different 3-D printers and accessories available onsite. The desk selection was extremely slim compared to other stores I have visited. If you are in need of a tech item or support I would recommend trying here first to locate what you need.
Had a not so great experience with the repair center regarding a one part replacement for my laptops charging jack. Dell seemed to have not transferred my old warranty to my refurbished machine which the technician was surprised by. I explained to the technician multiple times that the machine was old, any Dell warranty on it was expired/lived its lifespan. Technician still pushes me to contact Dell customer service to have the warranty transfered, giving me the impression that alone would justify a free service despite my telling them the warranty was expired. They lost all the data on my laptop in the process of diagnosing the problem with my machine with only an apology and the reassurance that reimaging the machine would be free, which usually cost $100! Im sorry, I expect bare minimum that my laptop will run- this free service was not at all a perk or a bonus to me at this point. I have never had my data lost by any other repair center.I understand that data management is also the customers responsibility, and I have an older backup of my machine to use. They offer backup services at a whopping $100-- if you bring your own device to store it on! The general consumer at Microcenter is already likely to know how to preform this themselves and finds no reason to use their service at the $100 price point, but they could snag the lazy yet savvy crowd for a lower price point. The technician goes on to try and sell me warranty extension through Microcenter, after my data has been lost, before any repairs had been done by them, and on a machine I have stated multiple times is older. There is no reasonable explanation for why I would want their warranty at this point in the process on this particular laptop.I go a week with no update from the technician and finally text into their service myself to politely ask for a timeline. A few hours later, a different technician (coincidentally?) calls and tells me my machine is suddenly ready for pickup. I go in and discover they ordered the wrong part for my machine initially, leading to an unforseen delay that Microcenter did not feel the need to update me on. The gentleman who checked me out was polite and helpful, noted that all my data was lost to me yet again, and proceeded to charge me the full price for the headache and delays. Will not returning for repairs.
Think about your favorite place on earth. Disney World? Bali? Your Meemaws kitchen while shes baking cookies? Whatever it is, wherever it is, or whenever it is. Microcenter is that place. A tech geek wonderland. Its the most magical place on earth. Also, really great deals and very helpful staff.
Great store with everything you could need for a computer for great prices. The service is terrible though. Sales people are too eager to.make sales that they arent attentive to consumers needs. They tried to sell me a computer that wound up being returned because it didnt have wifi. When I got a different one they could barely find it to sell it to me. Took way longer than needed for something simple.
If you are looking for desktop computers, laptops, arduino, raspberry pi or other home electronics as well as all of the accessories that go with each of these, then this is your nirvana.I have yet to not find something in this store to spend money on. Most of the time, I find more to spend the money on than I went in looking for.Plenty of sales staff that, while they may all ask if you need help, do not hound you about your business.Check this place out before you jump on Amazon to buy something online that you cannot touch.
Geek heaven. All your computer needs, digital photography accessories, Tvs, large selection of buid-your-own computer and anything youd need for an upgrade. The BEST THING is the electronic section. If youre into electronic projects, Raspberry Pi, or other microcontroller kits/projects they have the most common components and bench items. You could find better prices online, maybe. But when you need it now at fair and reasonable prices, this is the spot. They have parts and supplies for a wide variety of 3D printers as well. All my computer HW comes from Microcenter. They have off-lease refurbished , with support. Great values. One of my hacks is to order a non-stock item from a different microcenter for in-store pickup at my local store to avoid shipping cost( refurb pc, usually). If youre new to Columbus and looking for a store to support your electronics hobbies, youll want to check this place out.
Great computer store with very helpful staff. Excellent selection and one of the best real computer stores out there.I dont know many places where you can walk in and buy all the bits to build your own computer. Ive been going here since I got my first iMac here in the late 90s.
Take your nerd here for vacation! Make sure to visit the scenic build your own section. Paddle lazily through the consumer electronics. Expertly weave through general sales. Most importantly, be sure to chat up the local tour directors as this will surely be a highlight!
Ive built 3 Gaming PC using Microcenter. The 2nd build I spent over $2,000 and I am happy with the outcome. Since Im a project designer by trade. I needed something powerfulBut about 3 weeks ago I went there for my 3rd build and I had the most rudest disrespectful employee help me. I was doing a simple build for my wife since she plays borderline tablet type of games. When I told the employee that I wanted a I3, z390 and ballistic Ram. The Employee started demanding that I buy a graphics card today! not suggesting And when I told her... I cant afford a graphic card today. She told me I should save my money and come back and buy a pre-built! When I can afford oneSo long story short I bought my processor, ram, motherboard and the computer case that day. Since that employee had an attitude. I went to Best Buy and bought a EVGA GeForce GTX 1650 Super SC Ultra and 2 970 Evo and a PSU.But Im not going to take it too personally. Because she was rude to a customer before she helped me.
Really, the only computer and electronics store still around. Usually has a pretty good selection and prices are fair. It helps that they do price match. Customer service is hit-or-miss - you either get bombarded or you cant find anyone. Better than it used to be and will continue to shop here in the future for my computer needs.
Andrew M. at the info center just spent a ridiculous amount of time helping me find the right charger for my students Chromebook. She will be very happy to know I finally found the right one thanks to his help!! He was so nice, so patient, so helpful! Great experience.
After battling with a newly purchased refurbished pre build PC for a few months I kept having black screens. Brought in for maintenance and tried a couple things myself to no avail. I brought it back in and got it swapped out with something slightly better because they did not have the original in stock. I can say Ben behind the technician desk goes above and beyond the call of duty! Everyone is always extreamly friendly. I am quickly becoming a very happy patron.
Always has the absolute best stock and prices available. Widest range of computer parts youll find in a store in Columbus. Ive spent thousands of dollars here and have almost never been disappointed. The one thing I will say, which is why I give the store a 4-Star, is the sheer arrogance of SOME of the employees. There tends to be a theme that a lot of the employees in the computer part areas act like they know everything. They act like it is simply inconceivable for a customer to know as much of, if not more than them in certain aspects of their store, which as you could imagine, can come off the wrong way.
Great experience as usual with these guys! Im fairly experienced with PC building and rarely feel like the rep I am talking to doesnt know their stuff, or is trying to upsell me when it doesnt make sense. Prices are almost always the best here (particularly CPUs, GPUs, and PSUs).
They told me my motherboard was fried and that they couldnt get a replacement even though it was THEIR OEM brand (Power spec). Charged me $40 for that assessment. I took it to a guy in Powell who had it working in very short order - the motherboard was fine. That was nearly a very expensive error for me! At best several hundred for a new motherboard. At worst, a new computer. No thanks, Microcenter.
This review is solely based on my experience with the PC repair department. Couple weeks ago I took my pc in for diagnosis and repair due to performance issues. I wanted a system wipe, fresh install of windows, thermal paste replacment and the system to be cleaned since I had it there. After a week and a half. All they did was give me a fresh install of windows. Nothing else I asked for was done and was charged 150 dollars for. Scammed plain and simple. Come to find out I was in fact my thermal paste causing my performance problems. They didnt do it because Your system doesnt need it. They did nothing I requested and charge me as if they did. I had to figure out the problem myself because they couldnt be bothered. Never getting computer maintanence here ever again. Its a shame because the store itself is nice.
Mostly this store is great. GO IN PERSON. Dont bother trying to reserve anything online because despite being a store full of knowledgeable employees, the company itself sucks at online reservations. Its more like buy it and cross your fingers your order goes through. You would think a company that specializes in tech would have figured out how to update their online shopping experience digitally rather than waiting for the store to open and manually enter all the cancelations. Inefficient. So, if you really need tech for school, drive however long it takes (over an hr for me) and go in (also a pain since Im physically disabled) and HOPE they have it.
Been a long time MC customer. I still go there even though it is over an hour away from my present location. I am writing this review so that it might prompt an addition of a publicly available telephone number that does not go to a nationwide center, but rather to the store itself. I am not interested in speaking with someone who is not on site and cannot confirm status of merchandise. Fix that issue and Ill change my review to 5 stars.
So the store itself is great, plenty of items to grab for your pc or gaming devices. But the service desk has screwed me over and over. I had taken in my pc three and each time there was more problems with it. I had taken it in one more time and I asked them to make sure it’s running. Once again drove an hour and half there and back and once again my pc isn’t working. In total cost me $300 for nothing to be fixed.
Had everything I needed to build my pc! I absolutely love visiting to see what all items they have. They also do price matching which is very nice, was able to pick up the last few parts without any trouble, staff is very friendly and generally very knowledgeable about what is what.
Bought a hyperx cloud x and asked the employee chance o if this is plug and play on the PC. He said yes, except it still needed an adapter.I bought a monitor here and asked if the warentee covers physical damage, the sales associate said yes. When I tried to return the broken monitor, they told me the warentees do NOT cover physical damage. I bought that monitor with a stimulus check, and might never be able to afford a replacement..... thanks microcenter.....
They were wonderful and very helpful I on the other hand was very sick I am so sorry I puked in your trash can I stressed myself out thinking I had broken my computer that I had down a bunch of cold medicine so I could take it in to get it checked out and I got told it was fine and I had just put something in backwards I was so relieved and everybody was so nice when I was puking in the trash can one employee even got me a water its a great place.
I just want to formally say that it is a joy and a delight to have a Microcenter retail store less than a mile from my house. It makes tinkering and troubleshooting sooooooo much better when I can jump in my car, zip over, and have the items that I need in my hands right when I need them. Keep up the good work Microcenter!
Decided to give Micro Center another shot and the guy who helped me with the monitors knew a ton and prevented me from making a bad decision. Ended up going with a couple 32 LG 4k IPS monitors instead of the VA monitor I was looking at online and Im extremely happy I did. They also helped me find the right cables that would be able to carry the 4k signal (didnt know there were specific specs that cables had to have to get the full performance out of your monitor, I always thought HDMI was HDMI and Display Port was Display Port).Ill definitely be back despite the expensive problems I ran into a few years back. This last visit and the amazing reps restored my trust in Micro Center.
06-03-2021Visited Microcenter for the first time in years to pick up some random items for my dad. I cant say enough good things about this place. There was a line outside for a video card drop, and the entire process was handled in a professional and efficient manner by the staff. All of my questions were answered - multiple times in some cases when I didnt understand what the staff told me the first times (Im older and stubborn).I was passed along to someone who helped find a bunch of smaller items I needed. There were lots of options. Nobody tried to upsell me. No high pressure tactics. Lots of options and every one was explained with a reason.Oh, and they even had a few 3080 video cards left over after the rush!
Bought four computers over the past couple years here, and keep coming back because of the sales staff / floor experience.Even if the prices arent super low compared to online shops, the ability to talk to a knowledgeable person about what I need, get perspective on the real specs and quality of each machine (honest perspectives vs. only giving the high points), and their helpful but low-pressure recommendations makes it a much better experience than either online shopping or a place with less well-informed staff like Best Buy.For the size of the store and breadth of the product assortment, it feels like there is plenty on display to get a feel for and enough room to move around.
I wasnt very knowledgeable when first building my computer, and their sales staff was able to create a computer that was perfect for my needs. Recently, when moving my computer, I encountered an issue with my computer and decided to take it to their diagnostic/genius bar and they were able to diagnose and fix my problem within minutes. They have a great team here, and I would highly recommend going here for anything electronics related.Ryan Sanders helped me at the repair center today, and he was excellent to talk to and fixing my problems.
Bought a MacBook to replace my Mrs. old one that was on its last legs. Sales rep was super helpful and knowledgeable, giving us real practical, honest advice on the model to pick. Decent price, ended up about the same I would have paid at Apple store with my corp discount.
I have been a customer of both the prior Westerville location and the Bethel road store for over 3 decades and I have spent just a little bit of money (!) there during that time. I have experienced quality products through exceptionally knowledgeable and laid back sales people to terrific repair support services. I recently had them recover data from a dead external drive and the entire process was perfect. I highly recommend Micro Center over Best Buy or local shops. I will continue to patronize them until my personal hard drive :) tells me its time to check out!
It was great to speak to a knowledgeable salesperson. They didnt have the product I was looking for, but he was able to recommend something else that worked very well. It might even be better than what I intended to purchase. Great store for anything computer related!
Are you a tech nerd with a love for anything and everything that is computers? This is the place for you. This was honestly my first time to a Micro Center and Im disappointed there arent more, or any that are closer, theres so much to look at. The staff were friendly and very helpful, always attentive of you looked lost or even if you were just browsing. They have pretty much any computer part you can think of and more you didnt know of. They have sections dedicated to any kind of cable you could need, aisles for headphones, think of Best Buys older brother who goes to the gym every day. This place is amazing and should be a no brainer to visit if you need any sort of tech assistance or shopping that needs done.
I had an unknown hard drive failure in a laptop, and I was expecting a costly and slow repair. Instead, they helped me understand my options, and when I chose to install a new SSD, they helped me find the exact product I needed off their shelf. They gave me the option to have them install it, and install Windows as well. They also gave me the option for me to use their screwdrivers and a windows install flash drive. Since I knew what I was doing, I opted for that, and saved some money.I was in and out within 40 minutes. I did come at a less busy time though, so YMMV.
MicroCenter is my go to for electronics. They had have everything you need from laptops to individual components to build a PC and electronics kits to play with. You can generally search their inventory on the website to find what youre looking for and there are always staff ready to help.
This is the place for tech! Customized service with experts dedicated to not oversell stuff you dont need. I felt like a VIP with my personal tech who helped me pick out the best laptop, extra monitor and other necessary accessories that were perfect for me. It is worth your time and drive to check them out instead of going to the other guys. Believe me on this!
I was racially discriminated. Went in between 1 to 2:30 pm 12/18/21. Wanted to buy some apple airpods that was locked. I asked the worker, who was preoccupied with another customer , to help me, he said would when hes done (understandable). After 5-10 of minutes of waiting he called for a coworker to help me out. After hanging up the phone, another customer who was white asked him for help, he unlocked the case immediately for him to get an item (while hes still preoccupied with the first customer). Not only that..the worker that helped pretty much escorted me to register. He even stood in line with me, thinking i was going to steal it. Bad experience overall!
I was really blown away by the customer service at Micro Center. Everyone was really helpful and informative. I knew what I needed, but am no expert on computers. The associate that helped was very knowledgeable and helped me narrow down what I needed. At checkout, the manager thanked me for my business and shook my hand. These guys have it nailed down, well done.
The best computer store in the USA.Ive bought Intel chips at a steep discount here many times, making it an essential visit for any computer nerd. The addition of maker tools like the Arduino and Raspberry Pi just improves the awesomeness of the store, bringing devices you normally see online-only.
All that room and tech. No Earbud tips. Really. Just 2 pegs for Silicon and/ or memory foam. Prices low but good quality. I bet if Radio Shack was still around they would have them. Their brand and a major brand name. Disappointed in the fact, I have order from Amazon. I want to save and shop local. Trying to cut down on shipping to help the planet.
Wow! Talk about a super neat place with folks that are friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable about the industry and products. They even have a tech center place like the geek squad, but I think these folks are probably more qualified, in my opinion. I went in with items I needed, was given a good run down of what was the best selection and I actually spent less than I expected - I also got in and out in a jiffy. I will certainly go back for any electronic needs and have been referring anyone and everyone who I talk with!
I went in thinking I need a new motherboard. I had a power surge kill my old computer. I came back for the second time to get a motherboard to complete my build. Whoever it was that helped me said no it’s your bios. Your cpu is too new. They nailed it. Saved me 350 bucks. I love this place
Buyer beware!Final update: after weeks and talking with numerous people, and just being frustrated,I was finally offered for Micro Center to provide part of what was sold to me incorrectly, but ONLY because I could prove the manager had liked to me. I am keeping the 1 star because it took weeks, it took multiple trips, I bought the correct pieces off Amazon well before I was offered any decent resolution(and Amazon delivered it before they ever offered any decent resolution). Sorry but if you fix your issues I have to shop elsewhere, well, I guess I shop elsewhere.update:The below email address in the response doesnt work, which goes a LONG way to showing their poor customer service!I purchased a new, not a refurbished, not an open box, but a new TV, it was supposed to have a connector in the box, but the piece was missing from the box. The response I received from the manager was that the connector is in the box. What a waste.I needed to buy a converter for my new TV to connect it to my old stereo. Now I told the salesperson that I needed to connect the TV to RCA jacks, so he grabs an item off the shelf and says this is what you need, I again explain, this will take the sound from my TV and connect it to my RCA cables for my stereo, and again, the salesman says yes... I get it home, connect everything, it doesnt work. I read the manual, and...this unit converts RCA to digital, not the other way around...you know the exact opposite of what I clearly stated I needed. The manager offered to discount the converter I needed. Which would be acceptable, were I not missing pieces from the box already.I will update if I get successful resolution.
The service was great. Long did a wonderful job helping me pick out a router and the accompanying system. I was very impressed with his service.I also needed a cheap computer. I was standing next to a $250 computer asking for help on them and said my budget was around $250. I asked 2 people in the computer section for help, they said the cheapest they had was $400. Im guessing its not worth there time to help on anything less than $400. I wouldnt recommend shopping for a computer there because its clear the employees are going to upsell you instead of help your best interests. If I could rate the computer section a 1, while giving the rest of the store a 5, I would.
We made the mistake of trying to buy a tv from a big box retailer - it was delivered late, was broken on arrival, and took a week of arguing to return it. Reserved online from Microcenter, went to pick up 2 days later (they were ready within 2 hours...it was just convenient for us). Got white glove.service at the store, including getting the tv into my SUV and we were happily home with a working tv within an hour. I will ALWAYS buy tvs here....I got my previous one there too. Their service is consistently good and I love that they track my puchase history.
Beware the smart Sales Rep who ACTIVELY LISTENS TO YOU! I was getting a small thing for $60. I babbled that I was waiting on good deals for graphics cards that were trending at crazy high prices...Oh Sir, we just got a bunch of returns and clearance ones in this last hour! I now have a great priced card that is 75$ less with open box policy and still sealed inside!! Yeah...very happy but also spent $500 more than I walked in for! Lol...Im very happy with the deal and experience. It was the final part on my build I was holding off! Yahoo!!
We are extremely lucky to have the flagship Microcenter store here in Columbus. Their selection of PC parts and highly knowledgeable sales associates set them well ahead of other electronics stores. If you are a tech-head in central Ohio this should be your primary store.
I bought a gaming laptop here last summer and bought the 2 year accidental damage warranty! 4 months Later my laptop doesn’t function the way it did and tried to turn it in for a refund because there was a missing part along with that and Tom Welsh said that it was broken! Never buying a warranty again. Your salesman are liars. To everybody reading this DO NOT BUY THE WARRANTY.
Bought a HP Pavilion gaming PC from a vendor online at Amazon. Thank god it had a warranty. The guys know what they are doing. One of my Hard Drives werent showing up and didnt want to take any chances or shocking/damaging the CPU for trying to fix it, the store technician Anthony was doing a excellent good job when he fixed mine Ill be doing my business with Microcenter from now on when I need to build a PC also. Think they charge you depends what you need. They told me they also do upgrades on prebuilts also my PC makes loud fan noises for my CPU fan that came default by HP. So Im considering having Microcenter install a better and more quieter fans so I can focus on my gaming needs. Etc. And fans arent that much expensive either. I would do it my self but Im afraid of damaging my PC. I plan on buying an extended warranty for my HP gaming machine also. He did really well fixing my hard drive it was unplugged and I didnt even know it was unplugged it. :)
So normally I am very satisfied with my experience at Micro Center... but unfortunately my recent visit left me a bit miffed. I decided that I was gonna build my very first PC with Micro Center and was very excited shopping around with one of the representatives there. Definitely walked away spending more than I thought I would, but I imagined it was all going to be worth it! But after bringing it home and attempting to build it, it would not boot. My boyfriend (who definitely has more experience than I when it comes to building PCs) troubleshooted the problem well into the morning. We then had no choice but to pack it all up and bring it back to Micro Center the very next day and this is where the 2 star review comes in. After buying quite literally everything from this store I now have to pay 40 bucks for the techs to tell me which one of the parts they sold me is busted and I have to wait a week to find out which is the culprit. I would have thought with how much money I gave them yesterday (nearly 3k) and the reasonable assumption that it was one of the parts that I got from the store that is keeping my PC from running, I would have gotten something from it (maybe even an apology). Just cant help but feel a bit snubbed and very unhappy.
I dont normally write reviews but felt compelled to after my first experience here. The place seemed very busy, but even so, I had 3 separate staff members check on me and offer help from the moment I walked in to the moment I left. Everyone was extremely friendly and gave good vibes. Good COVID precautions taken in the store. The prices seemed pretty fair. I drove an hour to get to this store and wouldnt hesitate to do it again.
Is there a better brick and mortar store???They will price match (check website for details) and even when they dont its still worth it to buy local. My friends, family and I have purchased most of our technology electronics from them for over 20 years. Knowledgeable sales staff will be able to help you make appropriate decisions for your needs. REMEMBER: let them place their sticker on your purchases for sales credit!
Another great experience at Micro Center. Been coming here more often in recent months as I am building a computer. Every visit, the employees are always super helpful, answering question after question and providing valuable information. I received fantastic customer service during my trip today. I made a reservation in the online ordering system and went to pick it up. There was an issue with the order, but David was able to rectify the issue and provide outstanding service. Glad I can get the products I need at great prices and support a local business!
I feel so incredibly lucky to live in the city with Micro Center store #1. If you arent aware, Micro Center is a world renowned computer and electronics store, I see people online all the time saying they wished they live near one (they have great deals) and we are blessed with the flagship store, no less. This location has everything you might want electronics-wise. The hobby section is also quite large, there is an extensive selection of 3D printing filaments sold at a very fair price. Also the staff is super useful, knowledgeable, and patient with any questions. Theyre basically what Best Buy claims their blue shirts are. I like to make special trips here for things I could get elsewhere because I love how you can get a sticker for your purchases to give staff credit or commission for helping you. Keep up the great work Micro Center!
Found what I was looking for and the aisle it was in. Plenty of parking. Quick checkout. Could have been in-and-out in 5 minutes but I spent some time looking at big-screen TVs and laptops, of which they have a great selection. Didnt need it but quick help is always available.
Ive always had a great experience here. To start off, parking is easy to find and fairly close normally even though they are so busy! It is also nice to be greeted by several different workers and everyone is taking necessary precautions regarding the virus and maintaining social distancing. The store is easy to navigate with all different signs and designated areas as well as organized shelves. I was greeted nearly every 5 minutes (if I was moving to a different section) by different workers who were happy and ready to help me which definitely left me at ease. Finally the transaction at the register was very nice as the cashier was truly interested in my purchase and actively engaging me with feedback and reassuring my decision. This place is amazing and I love the experience, I will certainly be back again and again as a new loyal customer.
I could live here. Minus the employees asking if they can help me every two minutes but they are doing their job. Sometimes I just like to walk around the store and drool or pick up some Bawls. Best place for new tech and pc gear of every type. I just built a new PC and all the parts came from this store. Very clean and helpful. I hope this store never goes away.
Micro center suggested I bring my build in for them to look at as I was asking them what might be wrong with my cooling. Upon looking at it they said the unit (water cooler) they sold me was faulty. They proceeded to charge me $50 to look at it for 5 minutes and tell me they sold me a bad part and that was the sole reason it wasn’t working. Upon replacing it, my pc ran great. Not planning on returning to micro center after this.
Absolutely terrible service, will never purchase from here again! Two managers (Dennis, one of them, was very rude) told me completely different stories then their supervisor Tom was rude, lied and accused me of lying.Dont ever purchase anything from here. Dennis wanted to try to get out of even helping me even though my device was covered by their warranty blaming me then Microsoft then when he realized he was wrong and after having to argue with him for 10/15min (shouldnt have to do this in the first place), he left then came back and said they can help. Then I was told to come back and meet with Tom at 5, he didnt come until 20min late and then was rude, lied to me, and accused me of lying.Terrible terrible service, dont ever purchase anything from them.
3 weeks for a basic software repair my local store would have charged me 50 dollars or less for; or I now know with perseverance and YouTube; I could have done. I am furious with myself for buying the 3 year warranty because I will not use your repair services again. I cant wait to now drop my computer off at said local store since two thirds of the internal memory is not registering. Ill see you all this weekend (only because of that warranty) if I need to come in for my 3rd replacement piece, for my 2 month old computer, but I wont be trusting you with the install.
Normally I would rate this place a solid four stars, they have no competition at all in this town, and yet still maintain a good selection of products and have reasonable prices. They lost that third and fourth star today because not a single employee was wearing a mask even as COVID infection rates are skyrocketing due to the Delta variant and hospital ICUs are once again becoming overwhelmed. You would think that a place that caters to geeks would have employees intelligent enough to protect themselves and their customers, or at least managers smart enough to mandate it, but no, apparently they are not all that intelligent after all, so you might want to take any technical advice they give you with a pinch, or shaker-full of salt.
Awesome place as usual. Staff were super friendly and knowledgeable about the smallest things and where to find them. Theyre always great when needing advice on what to do tech wise. They are more than happy to help. I havent been in the Columbus location for 5+ years but its only improved since then. I have been a repeat customer for years and will continue to be a repeat customer for a very long time. Its always worth buying local and in person than online. Amazing store all around!
Had a really good experience here today with a salesperson who helped me find MicroSD card readers and options. He was very knowledgeable about SD card devices and Dash cams. Have purchased a PC build from this place as well and the sales staff is always very helpful. Best place in the city for any tech need without a doubt
Did a pick up order from online and was amazed at how smoothly the transaction was compared to other computer/technology stores Ive been to. I also had a few last minute purchases to make. I was treated kindly by all staff I encountered, the hand sanitizer guy in the front had a fantastic wizard beard(which gave me a lot of confidence in this store to be honest). Gavin T was an exceptional help and was very kind. Someone wearing a rainbow mask got my meme joke, had a great time. Also the covid19 guidelines were followed at every step in my experience, the place has been kept very clean and it just rocks. I wont be getting my technology anywhere else if I can help it.
Very impressive place, trying to build a PC with the new RTX 3080. They were out of stock but were very professional when helping me with my other orders/parts so I have no complaints. Other cities jealous that they dont got one of these near them.EDIT: Came here about a month later to snag the 3070. Fortunately I did manage to get it. Was ushered in by employees telling me exactly where to go. Very professional as per usual when it came to interactions, they were very informative and seemed genuinely interested in what they were selling rather than just being there for the job. Made my experience fast, easy and positive. Love it.
Typically a good store to shop for your electronic needs. However they are hit or miss on service. My experience today was pretty bad. Had bought a warranty and was told this includes exchanges on the item, if same item is in stock, instead of waiting for repair. I also called over yesterday to confirm this was still the case and was told it was. And also the front cashier confirmed that as well. Being a truck driver this time saving convenience sold me on the product + warranty. However today when I tried to use it I was told this is not the case. And I had to do a repair. So long story short, Im late for work and have no PC to game on for at least two weeks because I will not be back in Columbus to pick it up after repairs.I feel I have wasted time, energy and money in this whole ordeal. With newegg, best buy and Amazon selling same products at same price, or lower in cases of the gpus, I will think twice before going to microcenter first.
Was shopping for my first build. Already purchased the CPU/GPU. Needed help figuring out what other compenents would be compatible with my setup with how I plan on using it. Alejandro was able to point out exactly what I needed and made sure I was getting the best bang for my buck. Will definitely return for future tech needs. A+ customer service. Alejandro is the best! Highly recommend!
Im extremely grateful that we have such a good place in the Columbus area, that has such a vast selection of computer parts, computers, monitors, keyboards, and etc. This store is well organized, and the departments with the different merchandise always has a sale associate thats willing to help you find what you need. Along with that, the staff is absolutely amazing. Im currently trying to build my own system, and any questions, or concerns I had, were answered by a salesperson, who seemed happy to help. The people working here are fantastic, the selection is great, and I couldnt be happier to be a customer.
Great service. Not a bunch of high school kids playing on their phones looking forward for when they get off. The only place in Columbus that has what you need in stock and priced with the market price taken into consideration. There regular prices usually beat or are the same as other online retailers prices everyday.
Great clean place, prices are often comparable to amazon and they price match! One thing though, I’m assuming these workers are getting commission Based on how every associate that helps you ask for you to put a sticker on the item. Which is fine, I’m not against commission... But some associates make it feel kind of like a used car buying experience. Most are generally helpful and I am more than willing for them to put their sticker on my item. Another thing, I understand that there is a lot of expensive graphics cards and processors and such but especially on a busy day it can be a hindrance to try to get an associate every single time you want something. But overall I am satisfied with my experience here
Whatever you need for your home or office this is the place to go let me tell you they are so quick so friendly its unbelievable I pulled out my phone and said oh I get a free pair of headphones he said oh sure that expired two days ago but you know what here take take this pair not a problem dont worry about it who does that nowadays everybody should shop here
I go here because of the customer service and knowledge that the staff has. I purchased some headsets for my kids who will be doing school from home. The staff helped me make the best choice for our needs. It is great to go to the store and actually buy something in person and not wait for it to be shipped from Amazon and possibly order the wrong thing. Thanks microcenter!
One of the best expriences i had in columbus as ataveler who has been in so many placesThe store has plenty of different sections for performing deverses products such as computer accessories, gaming, smart electronic, printers ,etcWhen this store is described from the owners as the worlds best computer and electronic store is unrivaled, and great customer, and knowledgable associates, that is absolutely right as acustomer saying that after my good experience at this store who was welcomed by such two great employees such Mr Henryi highly recommend this placeThe experience could be the best proof
I had a guy help me, last name Duffy! My step father sent me on a mission to this place and I have no clue about electronics. Everyone was nice and helpful. Duffy put an item on hold for me and helped when me and family were confused. Give this man employee of the month : ) or better yet, give him a raise! I’d call to tell the store this but you don’t have a number!
Steven Ring helped me at Micro Center. He was attentive, kind and non judgmental considering I had no idea what I was attempting to learn in the world of streaming. I did not feel rushed or pressured to buy something I did not need. His extensive knowledge in gaming and streaming equipment really set me up to stay as close to my budget as possible and still purchase the proper gear for the task at hand. Thanks Steven!I had such a nice experience with Steven that I went back the very next day to purchase more streaming equipment. This time I had another positive experience with Andrei Roman. He too was over the top professional and gave me his honest guidance in the steps I needed to take while purchasing my streaming equipment. I felt like a person vs how sometimes you just feel like a piece of meat from the pressure of buying unnecessary pieces of technology or whatever it is a person is being pushy to sell. Micro Center doesn’t have pushy sales reps. These people are on their A game and I appreciate that more than the average bear.
I recently bought a gaming keyboard and mouse. The employees that have helped me today and in the past seem to know a good deal about tech. I know what I want and they really help me navigate the store. The employees seem to know where everything is. I think it helps that they are motivated to tag merchandise with their personnel sticker and be recognized for helping customers.
Great selection of computer parts and accessories. Can be a little pricier than online, but I keep coming back to support them because sometimes you just need something the same day and I dont want them to go out of business! Sometimes they have really good deals, too! Its a geeks paradise!
Alex and Andy went above and beyond today. I was purchasing an arcade machine from them today. They didnt have the kit for the full size build but they had all the components on the shelf, so they got me all set up. It would have been easy for them to say the kit was sold out, but Andy and Alex found a way to make it work. Thanks again
Staff is fantastic and theyre almost always stocked with your tech needs. Theyre informative about the rebates, are very knowledgable (which is saying something considering how often tech is changing) and have prices that are comparable or better than other retailers like Amazon. All in all, I love this place and the staff is amazing. Definitely recommend to anyone needing tech supplies.

2022-05-09This is my favorite store when it comes to electronics and accessories as you get wide variety of options. This is on betel road, can be seen from the road easily. If you are gamer or tech guy work on computer and laptop this is the place. I have been here multiple times for hard drives, cables and other stuff. Staff are friendly, will help you to make your purchase decisions. They have regular discounts on lot of stuff.

2022-05-01It’s something that I describe as a geek’s paradise. If you are a nerd, and love to surround yourself by geeky stuff such as computers and electronics, this is your go to place. There is nothing in the world of electronics, that you wont get here. The staff are very knowledgeable, and helpful. I simply love to spend a few hours here.

2022-02-24Microcenter is the best, plain and simple. Their absolutely massive and diverse selection of electrics is second to none. What really sets them apart is their customer service. Sure the employees make a commission by placing their sticker on your product youre going to purchase but in no way are they pushy or try to up sell you. Also this isnt like at other box stores where if you ask them a question they look at you like you asked them the square root of something. They are very knowledgeable and if they dont know, theyll point you in the direction of someone who does. In the past Microcenter has had a price match policy in the store. When covid hit they were temporarily not doing price match. I dont know if they have reinstated that or not. Anyways 5/5 they are still the best go-to electronics stores around.

2022-05-15Whats not to like? Seriously, great selection, helpful staff and good prices (even when compared to online prices). This is a rarity in todays world, a place to shop for computer parts in persons with the ability to compare and contrast multiple different types of a product type. The place always has a lot of customers so you knowing they are doing it right! This is a hardware store equivalent to computer parts. Everything you need to get the job done is here if you have a computer issue and you dont have to wait for it to be shipped. Plus, the in store online pickup option makes getting in and out easy. But, lets face it, this is the type of place you want to walk around and browse! Please continue to support businesses like this. They are so important in giving us options to shop locally in addition to online.

2022-02-15Purchased a new POWERSPEC computer ( Micro Center exclusive)for my company. The purchase was quick and painless. There tech services were also remarkably fast and accommodating. I needed Windows 11 removed and Windows 10 installed, they were able to do very quickly and I was able to wait while they did this. Note- they weren’t busy in the service department at that time, so repair times will vary due to the other computers ahead of you. Very happy with my purchase!

2022-07-03Been going here since the mid 90s when I built my first computer and theyve consistently earned my business ever since. Its simply my first choice for anything tech related. Incredible selection, price, and customer focused atmosphere. The last time I was in a few weeks ago, it was around 20 minutes to close (almost didnt go because I didnt want to be that guy) but knowing exactly what I wanted - I was in and out in 10 minutes with a new laptop. The GM, Mr. Welsh even came over as I was checking out to kindly introduce himself, ask how my day was and to thank me for coming in.

2021-08-03They are friendly and are always willing to help. And man, do they have a selection! Much bigger than my local micro center in Mayfield. Excellent customer service. They had many 3070 TI and 3080TIs and AMD 6000 series. So its worth it if you need a graphics card.

2022-06-25The most comprehensive tech store in the Midwest. Best buy cant hang at all. Plus they have very friendly knowledgeable reps that dont push anything on you but are always available to give great and thorough answers to any question about any product they offer and even some they dont. Best tech store I ever been to ever.

2022-07-13Reliable, knowledgeable service every single time. There are so few brick and mortar stores left worth going to but this is one. I not only travel out of my way to go, but I am willing to spend more just because of the quality service I receive every time.Today I was in and helped by Matthew Ingram and he was phenomenal. He spent time working on a solution to my problem, went above and beyond, and ultimately fixed my problem at no cost to me. I’ve used them for technical support and repairs, warranty service, returns, etc. and always the service is impeccable. I hope corporate realizes their workers are what make the store and keep customers like me returning. Keep up the hard work guys!
