This hair salon has changed my life and my hair. Also it has my kids looking fresh and beautiful. And I recommend coming here.
Followed my stylist Michelle H. here after years at a different salon. Love the attention given to the customer experience along with Monday appointments.
I normally really like this place but I got someone who wasnt on my wavelength. She cut my hair and it just doesnt look quite right. She was friendly and she was nice and I liked her personally but I wasnt sure what she was doing while she was doing it and I had to ask her to do it more like I had shown her the picture which she tried to do. Again haircut is okay but normally I receive an extra good haircut at this place. Its a very professional place and the customer service is good there. I was just there on an off day I guess.
Very friendly, work to Accommodate your schedule, Courteous always let him know I reminder at the next appointment.
Decided to splurge and get my hair dyed/highlighted professionally, so this was my first visit. I wanted to go darker (from a faded brownish color), with partial highlights. In the process she put bleach in my hair 3 times, for 20-40 minutes each time. I was fine with going darker and not getting highlights, but she insisted she could make it look better. This was a few months ago and my hair still feels like complete trash (even with Olaplex and other expensive hair products/no heat). I didnt think gummy or stretchy could be used to describe hair. I walked out with my hair and shirt ruined from bleach. The whole experience was bitter, the hair dresser kept saying she wouldnt have time for me when I said exactly what I wanted on the phone (offered to send pictures of my current hair- they refused several times) while booking and had me blow dry my own hair several times. While my hair dresser was rude, others in the salon were very friendly! Im sure theyre a good salon in general but this was the picture perfect bad experience and I hope this review helps someone.
First, the hairdressers I have had are ALL absolutely fantastic! You cant go wrong with any of them. I have been coming there for years and the one particular phone girl at the front desk is always rude and nasty! She always has a scowl on her face and is always talking bad about the customers. Just today I caught her bad mouthing me because she started doing it before she hung up the phone with me. I was so disgusted. Its unfortunate how someone like that can make a business look bad.
Michael Christopher always delivers first class service and a lovely environment and they do it as a locally owned business who truly invests in their community.From minute one with the front desk they make it so youre comfortable and ready for your services. My stylist Nadia was very patient, asked the right follow up questions to make sure she really understood my concerns, and when she was executing I could see her doing things that would ensure the results I was hoping for. I absolutely love this salon and my stylist Nadia. She always does a fantastic job with my curls. The salon is always clean and the staff is always nice. I like that they use the Aveda line too. I highly recommend this place! 😊

Michael Christopher Salon is fantastic. I have very fine hair and the cut it so it looks full and recommend products so that I can keep it looking great myself. And they always listen to what I want, not what they think I should want.
I called up MCS on Monday 5/10/21 to get an appointment on 5/13/21. To me it was an impossible request. After being cancelled on 3 times within less then 12 months it was time for a change. From my very first phone call to the salon to the minute I left I felt like I was the only one in the salon. The receptionist (I do not remember her name; I’m terribly sorry) worked some kind of magic to get me in for full highlights and a cut in 3 days time! She is a invaluable resource for the salon!! She called numerous times to keep me updated about my appointment because it was so last minute there WAS going to be some time between the 2 services, but again that magic she has she got me in back to back appointments. Heather highlighted my hair. I felt all her attention was on me and she did an amazing JOB! I told her I’m ready to take on 40 because of her! Nadia cut my hair and she was as sweet as could be. She did a beautiful job styling it as well. This salon had it all; the atmosphere, the workers who go above and beyond, and the ability to accommodate its customers. I will definitely return and be loyal to them as I feel they’ve earned it.

This salon is in a large space so you don’t feel like you are on top of eachother. It is very clean. The staff is professional and so nice! Loved my color by Maria!
I had a great first time experience at Michael Christopher Salon. I was greeted warmly when I arrived, and given a tour of the facility. The staff was very friendly and professional. The salon was very clean and up to date. On top of a great facility, my hair turned out amazing. I highly recommend Julie if youre looking for balayage. She did an amazing job.
I get my haircut and waxing done at Michael Christopher. It’s great having a local business so close to home. The services are top notch and the salon is always clean and welcoming. My kids also started going there for haircuts, definitely kid friendly, too!

3-12-20 update: Owner invited me back and I had a pedicure with Regina. She was fab and and my feet look great! Again, the salon is cold and loud, but maybe thats just what atmosphere they are going for. They use an Aveda product with a cooling sensation and this is just not right for pedicures in the winter months. The hour goes quick and theres good conversation. Service is pretty much impeccable here, but not my favorite pedicure spot.Do not get a pedicure here in the winter! It is SO COLD in that building - no one was allowed to touch the thermostat and there are no space heaters. The water went cold, my hot tea went cold, there was no warmer in the massage chair... Also, the salon is SO LOUD that it is not a relaxing experience. My nail tech was very nice but did not exfoliate me enough - my heels are already rough again, only 1 day after the service. Was not worth the dollars, even with a coupon. Will not be back.
My favorite hair salon. I have been going here for many years, my mom, dad, husband and daughter go as well. Paulette is the best. She takes time to listen to what ideas I have and I value her input. She always does a great job. The staff at Michael Christopher are all very nice. My schedule can be a challenge and they are always understanding if I have to reschedule, sometimes more than once. Highly recommend.
Today was my first visit for Manicure 💅 and pedicure and I absolutely loved it! From being welcomed at the front desk as a new and first time guest, they gave me the grand tour and treated me with care and respect! I’ve never had a salon do that before! Very nice touch! They have refreshments available while you wait and I was so pleasantly pleased with both the technicians today that I met and worked on me! They were both friendly and put me at ease right away, they did such an excellent job on my nails both pedicure and manicure. The space is perfectly situated with private rooms for the pedicures and more than enough room for manicures! I was given great beautifying tips and a welcome bag! I will definitely be going back! Love Michael Christopher! Regular customer for years, family members and friends are too. Everyone is so nice, professional, and does a great job! Pedicures are in a private room in a roller massage chair... My favorite! Love that they use and sell Aveda too.
I first went to Michael Christopher salon because I wanted to be sure to get a professional looking color job without damage to my hair. I have been extremely happy with their work. My color with highlights always looks the same - no unevenness or missed spots. I get a lot of complements. The cut is always excellent as well. My regular stylist is Julie and she is wonderful. Occasionally I have had to use someone else when our schedules dont match. I have never had a bad stylist there. All are professional and skilled.
I went in a while ago for highlights. I showed the girl a picture of exactly what I wanted. It took a while and she kept saying “Oh my gosh it’s looking so good!” When finished, my hair looked nothing like the picture. Nothing. My whole head was colored. My husband and kids didn’t even notice. I spent $155!!!! I’ve never went back and never will. Way too much money for not getting what you want, especially when you had a picture. I was able to find a great salon closer to home!
What a great experience I had today at MC. Renee did my nails and they were awesome. Denise cut and styled my hair and I felt like a new person. Let me say this, I am high risk health wise and the staff made me feel anxious free. They have always risen to any occasion to protect customers and their staff. Thanks to all. Barbara Ulizzi
I have been coming to Michael Christophers for 3 years now and I love it. Julie is excellent at everything she does, she is such a positive person too! The prices here are very reasonable as well! When I needed a new salon, that was a concern of mine as well. I feel like family from the receptionists to the shampoo girl, they all treat you special!
Ive been coming here for at least 7 years now and have only used Liz for cut/color. I chose her at random and couldnt have picked a better stylist! Shes always very friendly and fun to be around, plus she does a great job figuring out exactly what I want. I feel comfortable telling her to just do what she thinks is best when I cant make up my mind. 😁👍
The overall experience at MCS is excellent.The front desk staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome andtaken care of immediately. Customer satisfaction is a priority and they are very good at providing the ultimate salon experience. The stylists are very well trained and always up to date on new trends, fashions and treatments. I have been a very satisfied customer for over 15 years. Marianne & Darren have done a wonderful job building their business and more importantly building relationships with their customers.
I moved to Cleveland 25 years ago. I went to two other high profile salons, looking for someone to replace my PA stylist who never let me down in creating an executing an exceptional style every time. His shoes were hard to fill, but Michael Christopher Salon has overflowed them. Marianne the owner and my stylist, Amy my colorist, and all of the others who have stepped in, are well trained and coached. The learning continues and has met the needs of my family with their unique hair texture needs.Highly recommended!
This salon is top notch- clean, beautiful, and reasonably priced! Tonight was my second visit- my services were a partial highlight, trim/ blow out! Usually I am skeptical about getting my hair colored at a new salon but I am 100% satisfied! Thank you Amy and Kary! :)

I am a new client at Michael Christopher Salon, I had a pedicure from Janet who was very friendly and fun to talk to. She did an excellent job and took her time. I never felt rushed. The staff a the front desk was also friendly and helpful. They helped me choose Aveda products for my specific hair type that I am very happy with. I cant wait to come back!
I moved to Ohio in the Summer and a friend told me about MCS and how awesome it was in the fall. I just had my second hair cut there today and it couldn’t have been any better! Jamie is the best and made sure I was comfy the whole time. She really took the time to understand what I wanted done to my hair and executed it perfectly!!! I’m so happy with my hair cut and can’t wait until it’s time to go back again! Thank you to the entire MCS staff for keeping me up-to-date and informed about the latest regulations!
I have been going to Michael Christopher Salon for 13 years. While they have grown tremendously, they continue to show the same personal interest in their clients as they ever did. Everyone is welcoming and friendly and the salon is very comfortable. I couldnt think of going anywhere else! I have referred several people and they have all been equally happy with the experience. I love them!
Terrible experience here. My daughter cried from having her hair pulled and her hair isnt even. My daughter is very disappointed. Need to take her to another salon to have her hair cut correctly. Will never go back or recommend this place to anyone.
Michelle is the best! I have a hard time knowing exactly what I want/need (especially in terms of highlights/lowlights/single processing) but Michelle is patient with me and is always willing to make suggestions. She nails it EVERY. SINGLE. TIME!

Wendy has dealt with my hair changes with these ease of a best friend and a professional. She is a caring and loving woman. I would / have sent friends and family to be her clients and if asked for a hair stylist, I will continue to refer them to her. They make you feel like family from the time you come to the desk until you leave.
Beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff and most importantly the quality of their work surpassed any other salon I have been to. I work across the street from them and deal with many people on a daily basis. I will highly recommend.

When I moved from the West side to the Mayfield area, I was not looking forward to finding a new stylist. I loved who I had been using for many years. I am so pleased and thankful to have found Wendy! She is fantastic and has surpassed my expectations!The salon is immaculate and the staff is very friendly. Basics of hair cut for men not followed. I can get the same hair cut in supercuts .No difference.rush rush rush to go home.. such hair specialist should stay at home. Simple example.. the hair stylist was in such a rush to go.. that she did not even bother to cut hair around my ears. Probably have to go to another place to get my hair fixed.. time well wasted..

I go see Alex for my hair and if not Alex then Chelsea for waxing my eyebrows. Both women are beautiful, easy to talk to and am absolute pleasure to see. The ladies at the front desk always make me feel welcomed. They have a coat room and complimentary ice water, hot water for tea and coffee. They also have a nail salon and a product area where you can buy the products that your person uses on your hair / nails / make up. They also have a little station with blow dryers for those that would rather blow dry their own hair. I have been coming to Michael Christopher for about 3.5 years. And Ill continue to come for many more. Highly recommend this place.

The services at Michael Christopher are top notch. I regularly get haircut, style and highlighting. Ive also had a mani/pedi and lip and arch waxing. But the best thing about this salon is the staff. I always feel like a valued customer both when Im there and when Im on the phone if I need to reschedule... very professional yet warm and friendly people. I look forward to going to Michael Christopher every time!
I will definitely come back here. My husband has been urging me to get my hair cut at a “real salon” for years and I finally did it. I’m so glad I did. The receptionist gave me a short tour when I got there. My stylist (Rachel) was “new talent” but that’s fine. She took her time and when she wasn’t sure of what she was doing, she asked for help. I found out while Rachel was shampooing me that the woman she asked for help from was the owner, Marianne. Marianne was very available for guidance. Rachel thanked me for my patience, but I would MUCH rather have a newer stylist ask for help than be afraid to ask and do what I *didn’t* want.They even have fruit-infused water and snacks by the coat room.
You get what you pay for and at Michael Christophers, that means hair care professionals with the latest training in both hair styling and color, plenty of nail care stations, soothing private pedicure rooms, all in an upscale atmosphere with attentive staff. Ive been going here for almost 20 years and have never had a bad haircut. When I walk in, the rest of the world disappears for an hour.

I have been a client at Michael Christophers for a couple of years now. I was randomly assigned a stylist at my first appointment. I dont think it was pure luck that Alex was so talented and kind and funny my first time here, I think that all of the stylist must be talented and kind. Every time I meet someone who is a client, they say the same thing about their stylist. I think that is just the kind of stylist that Michael Christopher wants on their team.The receptionist are always so kind and personable also. I have had a couple different services at Michael Christopher and loved loved their esthetician there!My poor experience is related to hair. I saw a stylist by the name Julie there who really after the first appointment had a poor attitude ( not really open to having a discussion about what I wanted to do with my hair and what she would recommend is realistic). Had challenges with her matching my hair color to what had previously been done , which I adored. Ended up doing an all over color, which was basic, doesnt need much thought so I could just help the damage. When I showed up for my appointment with a change in plan, she sensed I wasnt happy with my last service and the next and last service after that was even worse. Hated the way my highlights were done. Wasnt at all what I showed her a picture of. Haircut ( in the front) was uneven ( wish I could attach a picture here ). Didnt touch up my roots that day even though I was scheduled for it( so maybe I was charged for it- dont know). When I asked her what I was scheduled for at the beginning of the appointment, she said everything. Which to me means roots, highlights, cut and style. But nope, didnt do my roots. Didnt tell me she wouldnt be doing them. Pretty much at every appointment, I was told, dont think we have enough time for this or that today. So that could be a front desk issue with scheduling... Not sure.I dont often review places, but only when something isnt right for me or when I love it very much. This review was long over due.. But needed to be done. I usually would spend $250.00 on every appointment and thats a lot of money to be spending and then to be not happy with the outcome, so finally took my business elsewhere! Took about 3 appointments with them to realize this wasnt a match.****To the owner: Marianne- Thanks for the response. I have been going to Nadia for over 8 years. She is an AMAZING hair stylist— there is no one else that I would ever let touch my hair. She is truly irreplaceable in my life. I always look forward to my appointments with her, even though they take half a day- lol. Nadia is incredibly patient with me (I have very dark hair naturally and I get super blonde highlights, which is a long process to get my hair to turn blonde). I am always happy with the results.
I really like the atmosphere here at the salon. Everyone is super nice. My stylist is Gina and she is great. Super friendly and does a great job for blondes.

Michael Christopher is a wonderful salon! Everyone there is very friendly and quite accommodating. Heather has been my stylist for over 20 years and I will let no one but Heather cut my hair. Each of the nail technicians takes her time providing a beautiful shellac manicure each time I visit. Because my color is applied in a single process with a magic formula in the MCS computer, I have gotten to know a variety of other stylists who have colored my hair. Monica, the MCS front-desk manager is awesome! She works magic manipulating those computer slots to accommodate all of those who need appointments. I am at the salon so often that my husband says we should buy stock in the company! Thank you, Darren and Marianne, proud owners!
I love Michael Christopher Salon! Everyone is so friendly and the prices are very reasonable. I have been going there for at least 6 years now and Denise does a great job coloring and cutting my hair and its so pleasant. Im so glad that I discovered this place.
My daughter had a spa party for her bridal party at MCS a few days before the wedding. Marianne scheduled 16 ladies for manicure, shellacs and spa pedicures!!!! Let us bring champagne and some light snacks. This was a great fun and relaxing way to get the wedding festivities started a few days early. Great job Carla, Danielle, Jen, Laura(to mention a few) and the entire MCS staff!!!! Thank you!!!!

I came in for a quick trim while visiting from out of town and Megan did a stellar job on adding more volume! She added finesse to my layers and even made my purple balayage pop more from the cleanup. This facility and the stylists are awesome!
Such a great relaxing salon! Always professional but without being pretentious .. Love how everyone makes you feel welcome and comfortable from the minute you walk in the door and are greeted by the receptionist, to when you get up from your stylists chair with that perfect cut.

I had the worst haircut of my life from the owner. I told her no layers. I had 1/2” to go before my hair was all one length. Took me 7 years to get there. She layered and destroyed my hair in 15 minutes flat. It was horribly uneven-hacked in certain spots. Another hairdresser told me it was the worst haircut she had ever seen in 35 years and that it would take me years to grow out certain spots that had chunks of hair just missing. It’s been 8 months and I still cannot do anything with my hair. Sadly, I do NOT recommend the owner to anyone.
I have been going to Michael Christopher Salon for more than 15 years. This salon is by far the best I have ever been to, anywhere. From hair to nails, pedicures, facials and waxing, the service and skill of ALL those that work there is above anywhere else. I highly recommend, one visit is all it takes to keep coming back for more.

I have never had a bad experience here. Super friendly, comfortable atmosphere. Always a great haircut and that is from several different stylists. The customer is the focus, unlike some other salons.
I absolutely love this salon. The management is top notch, the pricing is incredibly reasonable. I love that I see the same staff year after year. See HEATHER if you have a ton of FINE but curly hair.
I travel for work ALOT, and often have to reschedule my appointments because of MY jobs postponing and rescheduling. I often have to reschedule with a different stylist, my usual stylist is the AWESOME Denise Wallace! But every stylist that I have had to reschedule with has done a great job, and I have no fear of utilizing the entire staff, they are all great!
I love going to Michael Christopher Salon. The people are so attentive and I love the snacks while waiting for my pedicure. Try this place. You will love it. Just like a mini vacation. Owners Marianne and Darren are the best!

The level of patience & courtesy is outstanding & I feel well taken care of with every visit.It is apparent that Marianne & Darren take pride in their business & they are such a joy which must be infectious because the entire staff is as well!

From the time you walk in the door till the time you leave, you are made to feel like you are a member of their family. Everyone is friendly and ready to make your experience a memorable one. Coffee, water, tea, and magazines are some of the little nicities you will find, as well as a beautiful salon with cozy seating areas. I dont think there is any way you can leave this salon not feeling good about yourself.
Just walking in the door at Michael Christophers makes me feel renewed! Love the way the scents fill the air. The women at the front desk make me feel welcome. Michelle is my all-time favorite stylist.

New to Cleveland Heights in 2007, a neighbor referred me to MSC. From the moment you walk in the salon, you are among friends. The friendly reception staff take the time to know you by name. I had my bridal treatment at MCS, suggested by a friend who loves it there. I think everything is relative according to the type of service you will have there. They offer coffee, snacks and a beautiful place. My hair updo was amazing. I could have never had a better hair styling. She understood what I wanted, explained how it could be done to get closest to what I wanted according to my own hair texture and length, she was professional, knew what she was doing. Since the trial she was good and made the updo how it was suppose to look like at the big day. Very different from other places that I have tried before, which the trial was so horrible that I was afraid of the real day!The big problem is the make up at MCS. I dont know if it was the person who did it or if their standard is like that. I can understand that aveda products are good, but for a professional make up, you HAVE TO HAVE the appropriate products. The girl who made my make up, did not apply any primer on my face (she did though in my eyes), did not have a powder foundation (which I personally prefer) or any professional foundation routine to highlight specific areas and hide others. She did not have a liquid or gel eyeliner to make a simple winged eyeliner. At the day of the wedding I had to bring my own primer and powder foundation. And I also improved her eye shadow application (when I got home I realized I looked like a ghost and my bridal party strongly agreed!) and my sister in law (thank goodness!) did my winged eyeliner at home. Seriously, to apply blush and terrible shaped eye shadow and lip stick I could have done it myself. Honestly, I dont know if I had bad luck with the person, but definitely, MCS do not have real professional make up standard products. A good professional HAS TO HAVE at least a liquid or gel eye liner and a make up primer.Ok, ok, I know it could be personal and others could have liked that make up I got. , but thats what the reviews are made for. For describing personal experiences.It is a shame I dont remember the name of the woman who did my updo, she is awesome. For make up, think twice and do a trial first. Maybe you can do better by watching some tutorials in you tube.

2022-07-28I have been to Michael Christopher’s salon for over a year (once every 2 months). I have also been to other salons for the same service (balayage). I can tell you I have paid double to triple the amount as I pay for my service here. The customer service is amazing and Julia is the absolute best. She really listens to how I want my hair to look (mine is very stubborn with color since it’s naturally dark brown). I recommend Julia for color and everything else.

2022-03-30After almost 30 years of coloring my hair, always professionally, I wanted to quit dealing with root regrowth. My stylist, Heather, listened to my concerns and has started the process of transitioning my hair to a platinum hair color. This will allow my roots to blend in as they grow out. Eventually, I will just need to freshen the color with a toner every 6 to 8 weeks. I am extremely pleased with how great it looks already and this was only the first step.Regina has been taking care of my nails for many years now and she does a wonderful job. On top of that, she is certified in reflexology. If you are in need of a little self-care, I highly recommend the reflexology followed up with a spa pedicure. You wont be disappointed.I highly recommend Michael Christopher Salon and their entire team.

I was told my hairdresser would be with me shortly and she was. I had Julia and she was very friendly and knowledgeable. I plan on returning

2022-06-21I just came here to say the older lady with the glasses at the front desk is EXTREMELY RUDE!!! Her lackluster attitude is not welcoming to your customers or people who provide services for your salon. She should really check her attitude. There have been numerous occasions that I have walked in and spoke to her and have received no response or a rude one. Everyone else in the salon is welcoming except for her!

2022-06-15The color I ended up with was great, but for the price I would have expected a better clean up. My ears had wet color still in them, my hair line was a mess with the color they used along with my ears in general. I would recommend using vasoline or something before color especially when the color is so dark.
