Had a dinner date with my little one. We came to try out a new place here at Little Italy. Place is cute and cozy. We were promptly greeted and directed to our table. It was nice to have someone acknowledge my 5 year old and tended to us politely. Even though my 5 year old is more like a 30 year old. 😉🤭 Anyways we did not have to wait long for our food and it was delicious and warm. When making a payment the card swipe was not accepting my card. Manager came and took over and after a few minutes was able to process. Waitress even apologized for the delay. Wouldnt be mad if I had a romantic dinner date with the hubby here.
We went on a Sunday night when we should have had reservations but did not for reasons too complicated to explain. The restaurant was filled with families & was a very happy environment. They made room for us that night and we were grateful. This is our second time at the restaurant and both experiences were outstanding. Clearly the chef is talented and the wait staff was accommodating and pleasant. They accommodated the tiresome gluten-free allergies. The only unpleasantness was a customer who apparently was not aware of fees and prices before he ordered. While I empathize with him, and wish that he had not ended his meal in a way that he felt was unpleasant, I can say that the manager came to his table, explained the charges and went over the bill. The table was in the center of the restaurant and had full view of the entrance. I imagine the complaints had the potential to be embarrassing for the restaurant. The restaurant staff was very polite in my view. Again, very sorry that his night ended badly because ours ended very well.
Food was excellent. Had to wait about 45 minutes for a table but that was fine. It was a Saturday night so we understood. We did have to wait over an hour for our entree. They are obviously understaffed in there kitchen. We understand. The food was worth the wait. What we did not appreciate was the group of people waiting for a table standing right behind us at our table. 8 of them. Talking so loudly we couldnt here each other. They were standing near the bar but not having drinks. They blocked the passageway for the servers as well as the patrons entering and exiting. It was very annoying. At one point I thought one man was going to bump into my husband who was seated at our table. I said something to the waitress. She agreed that it was not right but no one did anything about it. I asked her if i could speak to the manager and she told me the manager was very busy. She made no attempt to get a manager or move the people away. It was a very lovely evening to stand outside and wait as most people did on this very busy night. Ironically, 4 of the 8 sat outside for dinner. Why would you wait inside. Make a lot of noise. Disturb other diners and then go outside to eat? This restaurant needs to take control of the situation.I said the food was excellent but we were annoyed to be charged $4 for 3 pieces of bread. Most restaurants give you bread with your meal. Makes the place seem cheap when it is a very nice place.
Great service, great restaurant in little Italy. Come EARLY before your reservation because parking is scarce and very hard to find at times. I got the fettuccine with chicken. Its not regular fettuccine noodles, they are a round, thick noodle. Very good. Tortellini has a very good sauce, with a mild spice kick. Bread and butter are good, but does not come with meals, it is an extra charge.
Our experience was wonderful. The sauce is so fresh and the deserts were delightful. The service was slow due to being so busy, but worth waiting for! I was truly impressed when our server asked if we had any food allergies or anything that she should be aware of. She was thorough and pleasant 😊
What an absolutely wonderful experience!I went with a friend and we tried the calamari (naked with zucchini and tomato sauce) and mussels. Both tomato based and packed with flavor.I ordered the Cheese Tortellini, the Little Italy award winner for a reason! The tomato cream sauce was outstanding! Warm and tasty. Salted perfectly. My friend and her son got the pepperoni pizza and Mia Bella Especialle. The pizza was light but packed with flavor from the sauce and pepperoni. Also wasnt overly garlicky. The especialle was great as well!Highly recommend coming to this restaurant for your first visit to Little Italy!
Randomly picked a place to eat while on vacation on a night walking through Little Italy and could not have been been more surprised. I was expecting tourist quality and recieved top notch food. Pasta done perfectly! A gem of the neighborhood that should be on your list to go to. Spoke to the Chef/owner after to give my compliments and felt like a regular talking with him - very friendly. Great food and under priced for the quality. Leah (hope I got her name right) gave us perfect service. Excellent night. Wished I lived near by.
Mia Bella Salad & Mia Bella Pasta w a Casamigo Margarita sugar rim add mint leaves… 🤤I have also tried their red snapper & salmon.. I don’t believe they offer red snapper anymore. I would suggest you call if you have any questions. Also call ahead and reserve! Lovely atmosphere, I’ve sat both inside/out. Enjoy✨Note: the pics below are from a time I ordered to go. (Chicken Alfredo & Asparagus, this was before covid.. )
Everyone who worked there was fantastic, very polite and professional. HOWEVER, the set up was terrible. The tables were so close that I could smell the gentleman’s cologne next to me. ( smelled great btw). Couldn’t have a conversation cause 60 other people were trying to talk over each other the servers were absolutely slammed doing the best they could. I understand it was Valentine’s Day. However to provide good service and have a nice atmosphere you have to limit your guest. I watch multiple people sit and dip. Just because they were overwhelmed with the amount of people. Like I said servers, bartender and hostess great job. Whoever is In charge of the layout and capacity shame on you. Do better. Probably won’t be back.
We had dinner here while we stayed in Cleveland for a few days. The atmosphere was very lovely, our waiter was super knowledgeable and very nice, but for the price that we paid for everything the shrimp in my shrimp Alfredo was very overcooked. The caprese salad was phenomenal, the bread was so delicious, but the lobster risotto had way too much tomato in it it totally killed the flavor. So it had its high points and its low points.
This lovely little restaurant smells delightfully of basil and fine wine.My husband and I enjoyed an early dinner, complete with gluten free bread and pasta for me! He had gnocchi and I had pesto pasta. Both were delectable! The service was also amazing, with kind and attentive greeters and servers. We will definitely visit again, the next time were in the Cleveland area.
Food was great, service was great and very pretty inside. A little pricey, but of you look online, you are made aware beforehand.A few things that we didnt love: not able to do separate checks! A 3.99% charge to pay with a credit card? None of the other restaurants are doing that? My friend and I are coming to Little Italy once a month. This month it was Mia Bella. Have been before, but several years ago. Remembered it was good, but more expensive.Bummed about the small things, but those things do add up. Otherwise, food was great!
Best chicken parm Ive ever eaten. This would be 5 stars except the experience doesnt quite match the food. Tables are so close together. If youre seated by the door, all youll feel is cold every time someone walks in. And then hear the door constantly slamming. But the food is totally worth it!
Delicious! This was an AMAZING Italian dinner experience. I come from an Italian family, very picky about Italian food. This is worth it! I 100% highly recommend. The service was fantastic. The drinks were perfect. The food was prepared extremely well. I highly recommend the muscles, oysters, calamari, ceaser salad, tortellini, all the pastas are good to tell you the truth, veal is really good, desserts are great (gelato cheese cake was my favorite). Go here!
Mia Bella went above and beyond for our family after expressing a sudden loss. The owner worked a complete miracle over the new year to ensure we had what we needed and could commemorate a life well lived with solid comfort food that made everyone happy. Besides the overwhelming support from the staff, the food is incredible. Great atmosphere and worth all their efforts to make it fresh and with love.Thank you!
The food is great, but unfortunately, the manager/owner is utterly incompetent at client relationships. My dad forgot his card and I went to collect it while my family waited next door. For context, my family had a 6am flight to come visit me in cleveland as I am a student. I waited for about 10 minutes after speaking with the manager about the card, which is fine, I didnt have a rush. My family, including my grandfather, however, were tired. My dad asked if he could get his card. The manager was outraged that his conversation with his server was being interrupted and decided to make a scene and escalated the situation. Even the server did not seem surprised that he was getting angry for seemingly no reason. If youre attending a client at a nice restaurant, you do not have the luxury to let your feelings get to your head. Ive worked for a server for a few years and know what its like to have impatient customers. Doesnt matter. You have to be professional before anything else. This clown is not professional. Its unfortunate that his selfish behavior is bringing down the reputation of the servers and cooks. If you expect any level of respect from someone in a managerial position at this establishment, dont go. Despite the food and service, this child with no control over his emotions managed to ruin the experience. Shame.
Feels pretty overhyped. Ive been a few times at the request of others. The meals I have ordered have ranged from okay to good, but my fiance has struck out every time, which I can confirm. Ordering feels a little like Russian roulette. The worst part is the flies, of which there are many.
Authentic as it gets! Came later in the day and although busy they say us immediately. Wait for food was a little long but it was freshly made and delicious! I got the Verde Pesto (pictured) and my wife got the gnocchi. Not from the area but if I lived here I would definitely come back!
PAY ATTENTION TO LIQUOR TAX CHARGEWe arrived at 8:20pm we were seated and waited 20 minutes once the waitress came we ask if we could order our entire meal. She said she had to ask if we could order which was weird because we had been seated and thought we were eating. She came back and told us we could order and we did. When the food arrived one of the meals was wrong. I addressed the issue and they quickly corrected. I ordered an ice tea and didn’t like the flavor so I decided to order a coke. We also ordered dessert to go and she charged for the dessert and then came back to say we couldn’t take the crème brûlée home that I would have to eat there. That was fine so we decided to eat the cheesecake there too and on the menu it says plain cheesecake and it was covered with raspberry sauce. Then I noticed on the check there was a charge for a liquor tax and I wrote a note on the check explaining we didn’t get liquor and our waitress approached us while waiting for our Uber and said it was a bar charge for getting a coke and it was to save me money. Like that made zero sense and a coke is $3 how is adding 72 cents to my check saving me money?? Like this is weird and completely a scam! I would just check before you leave and make sure you are not getting a liquor tax when you haven’t purchased liquor. I attached a copy of my check for everyone to see. We will not be back it wasn’t a good experience and I would not recommend.
Very nice, upscale restaurant. Indoor and outdoor seating. Nice music plays while you dine. The food is plated beautifully. White linen tablecloths adorn the indoor tables. Waited on quickly with excellent service. A lot of choices on the menu. The homemade pasta sauces are bursting with flavor. Dinner as well as dessert was excellent! A must when traveling to Cleveland Ohio.
On a one night stopover I was steered to Mia Bella. The restaurant is in the Little Italy section of Cleveland, near Case Western and Cleveland Clinic. A nice casual place with a lively tone, I found the place much to my liking. The bar and wine list were fairly extensive with moderate pricing for most spirits.I was forced to dine alone since my son was busy at another event. Unfortunately, my review is limited to just my selection, which I need to add was wonderful. I started with the roasted beet salad. It was centered around a fairly large number of red beets surrounded by arugula, goat cheese and honey glazed walnuts. For the main course I chose (wisely) the chefs daily special. It was pan seared red grouper with a wonderful accompaniment of couscous along with a pineapple, carrot and spinach chutney. Also included were a large number of pearled onions that were so tender and sweet. The meal was great from all fronts. I would recommend it to anyone whenever available on the menu.I could not leave without sampling the homemade tiramisu. Worth the calories? You bet!Even the coffee was delightful. Smooth without bitterness, or any hint of acidityFinally, kudos to the chef and to my server AmandaI will be back.JULY 27, 2021 - Having my children now living in Cleveland has made for yet another return trip to Mia Bella. And again, we were not disappointed. The food is nothing short of excellent. And lucky us. Amanda, the server from the first visit greeted us at our table. To add comfort, she remembered me, as well as where I sat during my last visit (after 2 years!).For our appetizer we ordered a watermelon caprese with a sweet jelly and balsamic drizzle. In the summer months, theres nothing like a cold watermelon salad. Our entrees were equally delicious. I had the bolognese pasta and my wife ordered the branzino. Great choices. Great flavor. We couldnt leave without cannolis and tiramisu, which of course we devoured.Again, I cannot stress how wonderful this establishment is. The staff is as good as it gets. My thanks to Amanda and Gerti for their hospitality.
I dont usually write reviews, but had a bizarre experience with this place. My wife and I have been looking for quality Italian food in Cleveland, and found this place recently. We were thrilled! Everything was amazing. We got meatballs, shrimp saganaki, Pasta Mia Bella, and tortellini. We got dessert even though we were full! Pictures of all these dishes are attached. Then over the holidays, we talked the restaurant up to our out of town guests and got takeout. I was rushed through the order on the phone by the bartender, but figured he was probably busy. When I got to the restaurant I was rushed through the pickup process, but my food was ready and receipt was correct so I didnt mind. When I got home, however, I found that the Mia Bella Pastas I had ordered were actually ziti with minimal tomato sauce (see last 2 pictures attached to review). I can definitely make better pasta at home, and this isnt inexpensive take out. Huge contrast to what we had previously experienced. When I called to ask if I had missed something (maybe I didnt get some extra sauce or something in my rushed pick up?), I was told by the hostess that sometimes they rush through takeout orders and there really wasnt anything I could do. Was pretty disappointing.Conflicted about going back. Really a tragedy given how much we liked it the first time.
This was an awesome place. They had a ginormous patio and when I say ginormous I mean ginormous. They could definitely have some huge parties out here during the summer. The only time Ive been here was for the Feast of the Assumption and there was a lot of seating as well as a DJ. This area gets packed. Not as packed as the inside bar though, it gets very busy in there as well. Their prices are like down town prices. Everything is way over priced and is all served in Dixie cups. But you should expect that coming to something like this. I took a look at their menu they had some really good options on food but I wasnt ordering anything because I had already eaten a lot. Definitely have to come check this place out again sometime and take advantage of this beautiful patio. The inside bar was small but very cute. They still got quite a bit of people in there tho. The bathroom is SO HOT! and tiny! Only two people can fit inside of it at a time. Still very cute spot
Were from Texas with family living in the Ohio area. Every time we come we just have to try a new restaurant in the Little Italy area. We decided on this one this time. Found a nice table with enough social distancing from everyone else. The waiter greeted us immediate and took our order. For lunch we had 2 mimosas, bruschetta and linguini with meatball and marinara sauce. Simple but oh so tasty and flavorful. From the bruschetta bursting in flavor... so much so that my husband who does not eat tomatoes, ate them. The pasta was oh so light and full of yummy. So much so that I taunted my family with pics. Definitely a great place to enjoy a good casual, great Italian meal!
The food was great, I cant complain about that. However, the service was not good; it was friendly, but not good. My wife asked for the wine menu, they brought it right over, but did come back to check on us until we were done with our meal. We even tried flagging several servers to no avail. Apparently, the table next to is was having the same problems, and the gentleman got so frustrated that he stood up and went to try and find a manager. In our opinion the menu is also overpriced for what it is. All-in-all, we may return, but will think twice before we do.
Ive read many reviews that this is the best Italian restaurant in Cleveland. Boy do they have a lot to learn around Cleveland. Our freshly baked bread was not warm for being freshly baked. Our pasta was warm, but served on cold dishes, so you know what happens to your pasta. All of our food should have been warmer. As even our appetizer should have been served hotter. The wait staff was fairly attentive, but our water glass was only filled once during our visit. Attention to detail is critical if you want to become a first class Italian restaurant.
The food is great!! The service is excellent!! The staff is very friendly and helpful!! We ate there the night before I had knee surgery at University Hospital. The carbonara was delicious! I totally recommend the gelato for desert!! It was the bomb!! I would definitely go there again!!
Appetizers were good... Timing was off. Salads arrived with appetizers. Then food was out 40 mins later. Steak was way undercooked. Steak was comped but didnt get to enjoy a nice family meal. Pricey....which is fine but have the service to back it up. Plenty of other options in Little Italy to try.
I ordered some Mia Bella pastas with meatballs seriously get those meatballs. The soup was awesome. Portions were large, I can assure you won’t be leaving your table with an empty stomach. Just what I would expect from an Italian restaurant. Simple ingredients and not too fatty or americanized Italian food like you would find at Olive Garden
Pasta with pesto was tasty. The chicken as an additional protein was seasoned just right and cooked perfectly. The linguini with clams was a complete disappointment. The clams were very chewy and the linguini was over cooked. The order was drowning in a tasteless watery broth.
Went for dinner Sunday night. Staff did an AMAZING job accommodating my partner and I. We had 6pm reservations and they were able to get us in an hour early due to a change in plans. Our server was very helpful and attentive but did seem a little ‘off’ .The food is truly why I’m giving a 2/5. I could easily tell the chicken for the chicken parmigiana was pre made, froze, then warmed up. We also did mention to the server that my partner has a severe allergy and the staff seemed to ignore that because the specified item (bean sprouts) were on our dishes. Very pricy for below average food. I would go next door to La Dolce Vita if I were you. Also the menus were very dirty (see attached photo)
Really good ambiance with lovely western classical music playing in the background. I had ordered ravioli with pesto sauce and a salad. The pesto sauce was little different with a dominant taste of marinara. The salad was just greens, tomato and a small slice of cheese. I forgot what the dressing was but it was olive oil mixed with vinegar. I wouldn’t order this salad again but would defiantly try other verity of pasta and sauce. Would defiantly recommend for romantic dinner. One drink, pasta and salad would cost approx 40-50$ so not very expensive but not very cheap either.
Not very pleasant feel when you walk in. We were seated at a table right by the bathrooms and the strong odor of soap/cleaning product soured air. Staff started off friendly but soon couldn’t deal with the kids and it seemed to turn our waitress off. We started with a shrimp saganaki which was a pleasant surprise. For main course, the waitress said that I could “drink the marinara sauce”, so I went with the linguine and meatballs. Meatballs were hard and overcooked but flavor was good and they had potential. Linguine was cooked al dente but as for “drinking the sauce”, wish I chose a different dish. The bread was very good. If there is a next time in Cleveland I’ll be going somewhere else. @imsofatinnj
We were a party of four, also called ahead for reservations. We had an excellent time. The food and drinks were excellent. Our waiter was fantastic. Everyone was friendly. The place was extremely neat, and clean, and well organized. Great for all ages. Very, very diverse menu to choose your selections.
The food was amazing. The cheese ravioli was great with the marinara! The photo may be messy but its the carbonara and was delicious. The best part was the service. Lena was so attentive and thoughtful. The owner made sure everything was perfect. Loved our experience. Thank you Mia Bella
Everything was excellent, from hors doeuvres to dessert. I had the branzino for dinner, and it may have been the best fish Ive ever had in my life. The atmosphere is open, airy, and romantic. My only criticism, which is small compared with the rest of the wonderful dining experience, is that our server was almost invasively chatty. I would have expected much better silent service.
One of the best meals my wife and I have had in a long time. We loved every bite. The bread you get before your meal is very fresh, still warm and soft with the perfect crust. Then we had the Shrimp Saganaki recommended by our awesome waitress, Jamie. She was very helpful to us when ordering, and frequently checked in on us to make sure there was nothing she could get us. My wife ordered chicken carbonara for her meal which she said was excellent. I had the cheese tortellini with sausage which was literally the best Italian dish Ive ever had. We finished the meal with a Tiramisu and coffee. The Tiramisu was among the best Ive had and the coffee was excellent. This will be a must stop if Im ever in the Cleveland area again
My mom & I made reservations for dinner, last saturday. Getting seated was not an issues, but getting service was. We had to go to the bar to order drinks and even be noticed to have a server come by. Service was okay from that point. I enjoyed my Bolognese, however, my mom ordered the Veal in red sauce and it was over powered by an ingredient in the sauce. The atmosphere was not enjoyable either, we were placed often in the way of many servers it seemed. Over all, I would not return.
Service was phenomenal! I sat at the the bar, and I was catered to in luxurious fashion. The kitchen was close to closing, but I was still served. The Zuppe was delicious and the Tiramisu was life-giving. There is a television above the bar, and my bartender gladly switched the channel to the Cavs game that evening. Well worth the visit and returns!
Made reservations for a Saturday with no issues. Was seated and served in a quaint and packed room similar to our Italian experiences. Even in a packed house, food was served promptly. Wine selection seems average at best. Filet was fantastic. Gnocchi on point as well.
Well I’m not from Cleveland but my son attends school there. His birthday was last week and I researched the best restaurants there and gave him some ideas. He chose Mia Bella so I made a reservation. We arrived on time and our table was ready for us. The atmosphere is lovely. Well appointed and comfortable. The staff is accommodating and on top of their game. We had a party of five and ordered three appetizers which all were delivered to the table right on time and just delicious. The spicy shrimp was done just right and the sauce was just delicious as was the pork belly appetizer. We were already full by the time the entrees arrived because the appetizers were so generous. I can go on to tell how we were all so happy with our choices but don’t miss the fettuccini carbonara with chicken. If you are looking for an amazing meal with excellent service this is the place to go! Thank you Mia Bella! We’ll be back to see you again. Eccellente!!!
I was really looking forward to trying out this restaurant based on reviews and words of mouth. Made reservations well in advance and the front staff was very sweet. We started with salad - house was pretty standard and the beet and arugula was good but a bit overdone (big hunks of beets were too much). For our entrees we had the Mia Bella especiale- which was probably the best one, with nice flavor and quite a bit of spice. Second was the carbonara with chicken based on our servers recommendation - it was just ok. Not a whole lot of flavor. Finally we tried the scallop risotto special which was probably the biggest disappointment - scallops were cooked well but the risotto was not creamy. For $42 is was just not worth it. Also our dinner felt rushed - no one even came to clear our salad plates before our entrees were being served. Think we will try other options in Little Italy next time!
New to Cleveland, Im excited to try all the good restaurants. This was my 1st try in Little Italy. I was very disappointed. The building was musty. The corkage fee was excessive, we did not pay it. My friend had lobster ravioli with added shrimp. Despite it was not hot, she still enjoyed it. I had the veal braciole. I was really looking forward to this dish. Not so good. I guess a lot of people like Mia Bellas according to the reviews and the place was full on a Wednesday evening. Our server Seinne was absolutely wonderful. Thats why Im giving them an extra star. I am looking forward to trying other spots in Little Italy and all around Cleveland.
Mia Bella is one of our favorite restaurants in Cleveland! We are never disappointed...food is terrific, servers are attentive, and atmosphere is inviting. When my Mom first visited, she said the food tasted like my Italian Grandmas cooking...quite the testimony!Theres nothing like watching the world go by with a glass of wine while sitting outside...
Had a chance to watch the room while we dined tonight. They appear to have retained a full staff, and they really hustle. We were there during a very busy period between a matinée and evening performance of the Cleveland Orchestra who perform nearby. They managed to work in the folks coming from the former (including us) and get the folks going to the latter out the door in a timely manner. Our server, MaryBeth, was terrific. The food was excellent. We shared the bull mozzarella appetizer. I had the veal brachiole with cavetelli while my wife had cheese ravioli with an artichoke and basil sauce. With so many places suffering from service issues or limited menus, it’s great to find a place the has a pre-pandemic feel
Little Italy on a Sunday evening was full of good smells and lots of people! We dined alfresco and enjoyed every minute! We both had pasta, though there were many other things from which to select. The only problem we had was finding a place to park...something we didnt expect.
My hub & I had a very enjoyable dinner @ Mia Bella -- scallops for him & veal piccata for me. We loved that the kitchen would split a salad for us ( though @ a slight upcharge). Our dinner was definitely enhanced by our very attentive & personable server, Yassine. Although he was super busy, he stopped by often to make sure we were happy/ had everything we needed. Yassine has been at Mia Bella for 5 yrs, and is such an upbeat, positive representative for the restaurant. We will definitely ask to be seated in his section on our next visit.
Absolutely the best pasta Ive ever eaten in my life. Only wish the music wasnt so loud so you didnt have to yell over it to talk to your table because the whole dining room was yelling to each other haha but its so nice in there otherwise. The midnight mimosa is tasty and the waitress we had was so sweet.
Prices were reasonable. Food was very delectable. My server, Candace, was very sweet and helpful answering questions regarding the menu. Restroom was clean. The cleanliness inside was overall adequate. My only complaint was that the hostess seated my friend and I at a table located next to an entryway to the second dining area. I had to constantly watch my back as I would get up and leave my table due to foot traffic. The table should be moved.
Amazing food but you can’t place carry out orders at all. I’ve tried on numerous occasions and they always say they aren’t doing that tonight. It makes sense that they would stop carry out on weekends but not providing carry out during the week? Rarely are any of the little italy restaurants busy on weekdays and none of the other restaurants refuse carry out orders. It is just a baffling policy, especially during Covid.
Have to give this restaurant a toes up!!! It was an early evening dinner. We were seated and waited on pretty quickly!!! The service was great and the food was awesome!!! We ate outside and the weather was beautiful!!! I would definitely suggest this place for a dinner date!!!
Chef Christopher and the team at Mia Bella make magnificently beautiful and delicious dishes. Great for the ‘Gram and great for the belly. The ambience and atmosphere is perfect for a family or even a date night. The hosts are wonderful and attentive. We had East Coast Oysters, meatballs, lobster ravioli, the chicken risotto, Mia Bella special, and another pesto pasta dish along with tiramisu and cannoli dessert. A great place in Little Italy.
The ambiance was really good. Just wished the food was. Bolognese had a fish taste to it and other guests left hungry because they didnt want to eat their meal. Pesto was very bland. Service was worse than the pesto. Sooo many other better places to spend your money on the hill.
In a neighborhood of excellent restaurants, Mia Bella still manages to stand out to be the best! Why? First the food... every items is delicious and tastes as if your Italian grandmother made it. Second, the decorum. It’s comfortable, yet beautiful with room appropriate music. Third, the staff. Everyone from the hostess, to the busboys, to the servers and bartenders were professional and exceptionally friendly. Tonight’s server, Lilly, was one of the best anywhere to be found. People such as her will ensure that Mia Bella stays around for a long time with the same level of quality. Keep up the great work team!
I went to Mia Bella with my wife and brother-in-law and we all had a very good experience. The service was good and our waiter gave helpful recommendations. All of our dishes were excellent. I had the Chef’s Favorite pizza (I think that’s the name) and it was very flavorful and seemed maybe even a little larger than the advertised size. My wife had the mussels which were very good. My brother-in-law had the cheese tortellini with added chorizo and also really enjoyed it. The food was great, the prices were reasonable, and I would definitely go back. My only critique is that they need to replace their dining room chairs! They’re noticeably wobbly. They were one of the first things we noticed when we sat down, and when another table was seated behind us, we could hear that group talking about the chairs as well. Otherwise I don’t have anything negative to say about the experience.
The food was very good but our waitress bullied us into ordering what she wanted us to order. It was quite awkward really. She would actually shake her head no while we placed our order and then suggested a different one. Ive never quite experienced such a pushy server. It definitely ruined the experience although the food was very good.
This review is only on the food. Service was great - we had a very friendly and fast waitress, Mary (I think). The two dishes we tried were just not good...at all! We came for wine and a small dinner so my husband got the eggplant parmesan and I got the calamari. Neither dish was flavorful nor well prepared. Pretty disappointed!
The individual that made this experience was Patty (the server). Seafood (calamari and shrimp on pasta) was overcooked. But, other than that, food was flavorful in both volume and quality. However, as far as drinks and service goes, no one can beat having a server like Patty. Fluid, thorough and knowledgeable about both cuisine and beverages— you can’t ask for much more.
Delicious food and a nice atmosphere. We waited 15ish minutes on a Saturday evening to get in. We had the beet and goat cheese salad and it was delicious! Both pastas we had were good too. Giving 4/5 stars because Im annoyed that the chicken breast I added to my pasta was $6 and was small, flavorless, and rubbery. Wont be adding that again. Otherwise, the service was good and would recommend for good Italian food.
SHRIMP SAGANAKI - That’s all you need here! So SO good. Came last night, was a little disappointed to see no real social distancing in place, but it was early and not too crowded- it did get more crowded later right before we left...Got bottle of wine (good!) and the shrimp appetizer. Wow, I could of eaten 3 more of those, that’s how good it was. We Got the rib eye steak and gluten free bolognese for dinner. Rib eye was huge, nice flavor, good char, but we asked for brussel sprouts instead of asparagus and they forgot that. The menu said it came with potatoes and they forgot that. My pasta was...ok, not hot and pretty bland. Nothing too exciting that I couldn’t make at home and certainly not worth $18.95. Potatoes were brought out after we asked about them, and they were....ok..whipped, flavorless, and not hot. I liked the brussel sprouts, but partner did not. For the price tag, we’ll probably just come back for an appetizer, not dinner. Sorry, Mia Bella 🤷🏼
Fabulous service and lovely atmosphere. Best bread I think Ive ever had. It was warm, with just the right texture that melted in your mouth. Nice and yeasty, too. Not TOO crusty. I had the ravioli with cheese and artichoke, one had Bolognese, one had gnocchi and one had a big salad. We were supremely happy with the taste, textures, sauces, and presentations. It was our first time and we went because of a recommendation. We will go back!
The only tough part is getting in. Over an hour wait after trying two times, so finally made reservations. Then everything was perfect! Showed up early so they offered us a table outside. Delicious wine recommendation, delicious pasta, and prompt friendly service. The price isnt too bad either! Will definitely be trying this restaurant again!
I consider this restaurant to be the very best in OHIO hands down. There are many fine restaurants, however, the food at Mia Bella is breathtaking. Just the soup is something to behold. Dont miss an opportunity to sit at the oyster bar. The chefs and wait staff are just incredible - they will let you know the different flavor profiles with the oysters, salads are fresh and the tomato and mozz is a beautiful thing. You wont be turned off as you might be sitting so close to the food prep area - this place is supremely spotless and the view of ingredients is a feast for the eyes. This place is absolute perfection!
Decided to make a stop for dinner in Little Italy. Was so excited to have some “Authentic” cuisine. Instead I had the worst dinner I’ve ever eaten. The chicken was burned, dry, and chewy. The pasta sauce was beyond salty with way to much cream. Terrible!. I ordered my meal to-go and was not given silverware or napkins which seems like a no brainer. No extra’s- like maybe some bread!? 30.00+tip down the drain. Thanks for the worst dinner ever. Your a poor representation of Italia.
This restaurant is awesome. Really great food. Probably some of the best Italian I’ve since getting back from a stay in Italy. They have valet which I suggest, because parking in that area is impossible. The only issue I had was when my friend and I were first seated, we were seated at a very small table to the left of the bar. This table was squeezed very tightly between the wall and another two top. Now I’m a bigger dude. 6’4” and 230 lbs. I could squeeze into me seat by the wall.
We had a delightful Sunday dinner at Mia Bella. The service was perfect and the food was delicious. My cheese tortellini was perfect. Nice spice to the sauce and the meatballs were also spot on. I always like trying the red sauce and meatballs at an Italian restaurant and Mia Bella did not disappoint. M better half had the chicken risotto - which had a lot of pepper. So, ask them to go light on the pepper if you are concerned. Also a great wine list with an excellent Amarone by the glass.
They had a very limited menu on Saturday, but that could be the time of year. We both had pizza and were very pleased. The crust was a doughy crust and not the type I generally like, but it was good. The sauce was fabulous and the cheese very fresh. All in all, a great place. We will try it out this summer and hope for pasta.
My boyfriend and I come here every year to celebrate our anniversary. I wish I could afford to eat here every night! From the bread to the appetizers to the entrees everything is delectable. Our wait staff have always been wonderful. The cheese tortellini with the spicy sauce is my favorite pasta - out of all pastas everywhere. Mia Bella is a great staple of Little Italy and I look forward to eating there for years to come!
To go food was excellent but multiple members of the kitchen staff were not wearing face masks. Their own posted sign says All staff and customers must wear masks. I asked an employee and they said kitchen staff dont need to wear masks. That is not what the CDC recommends.
Very tasty food! Everything I tried had so much flavor compared to typical Italian fare. The restaurant was very busy and we got the very last table right by the door. I would HIGHLY recommend making a reservation to avoid that issue and also take advantage of the valet service, parking is a nightmare on the road Mia Bella is located on.
My wife and I had always wanted to try Mia Bella and were very excited to dine in on a Saturday evening. We checked in at 7:30 and were told it would be a 30 minute wait at the most. No problem. We sat on a nearby bench and waited.. and waited.. and waited. We checked in with the hostess several times to ensure we had not been forgotten. After an HOUR AND A HALF we again checked with the hostess and were told we were still not at the top of the List to be seated. Ridiculous. Our entire evening was ruined. We decided to go to Trattoria down the street and had a much better experience.Update - we received our phone call that our table was ready at 9:30. 2 Hours after we put our name in.
It’s an Italian restaurant, in Cleveland’s little Italy. Hotel staff recommended it, and depending on where in the country you’re from, it might be one of the better Italian meals you’ll have. Now I’ve had the privilege to eat at some of the better Italian restaurants in the US and abroad, so I can confidently say, Mia Bella’s is average. Not a bad meal, nothing memorable either. The pros: nice decor, large portions, food served hot, and the sauces had great flavors. Ingredients were high quality and food was prepared well. Pasta was nicely al dente, Food prices were good, drink prices were a bit high. The sausage was great and seemed homemade or at least locally procured. Bread was fresh and crusty served with herb butter. The bad: the service...not that service was bad, food came out quickly, and our orders were correct, but the service staff seemed unhappy and were clearly poorly trained. Our server didn’t really know the menu, couldn’t recommend anything with enthusiasm, and wasn’t sure if there were any specials. Her lack of excitement over the menu translated into our dining experience. She even recommended that we go elsewhere for dessert. It wasn’t just her either. The hostess couldn’t find a smile, and didn’t thank us or acknowledge that we even left. We were at the door for a good few minutes putting on jackets and it wasn’t busy. The person serving water (I assume bus boy) kept pouring my wife’s water over my head. Literally reaching his arm over my head. Overall, it was generally an average experience but disappointing considering the recommendations. Would I go back, no. I had several places I wanted to try, all highly rated. When I asked around, people said go to Mia Bella’s. Maybe it’s because it’s consistently average so generally people like it, or maybe it’s the best around. If it’s the latter I’d skip Cleveland’s little Italy as a dining destination, if it’s the former, most will enjoy it, It’s definitely better than Olive Garden.
My wife and I attended with two friends on Saturday for dinner before a concert at Severance Hall. We arrived a little later than our reservation time, but were told to not worry there would be a table for us. We waited at the bar for about 15 minutes, during which we ordered cocktails. The bartender was fantastic! He whipped up our four completely different drinks quickly and expertly. BTW. . .its good we had a reservation because the place was bustling with a steady flow of customers and wait-staff. Once seated at our table, our waitress (Tara) introduced herself and that was a beginning to an amazing dining experience. Tara was super knowledgeable about the menu, efficient, friendly, and helpful in every way without being Our food was wonderful and the entire experience was the perfect beginning to a very special night. The dining room is not large, and the crowd of customers was considerable, so there was a bit of noise and commotion, but that is to be expected. This was the first time any of us had dined at Mia Bellas. On our way to the concert, everyone agreed we would definitely go back again. Im already looking forward to it!
Enjoyed annual breakfast brunch with the family. As always, the food is excellent. Natasha and Mr Great Dane were excellent servers, quick with a joke and if we were smokers they would light up your smokes. One member of our party was sad because she forgot her maple syrup for her fancy Belgian waffle.
I moved to One University Circle almost 2 years ago. Everyone in my building kept on raving about Mia Bella. I am a HUGE pasta fan so I knew I had to try it out. Unfortunately the first chance I got to go and explore Little Italy the friend that I brought with me had a Gluten allergy. I thought to myself “Great no pasta now!” But then she did a quick search online on our walk over and found out that they can do ANY pasta dish with a gluten free pasta! It was perfect. My friend had not had good pasta in years. After that first time there I knew why everyone in my building raves about their experiences at Mia Bella. I cannot wait to be back!
Amazing! The waitress was incredible. Really helpful and attentive to our needs. Loved the gluten-free pizza with sausage and peppers. My husband had the gluten-free Fettuccini which he enjoyed. The best part was the gluten-free Chocolate Mousse Cake!!! You dont even need to be hungry to eat it its so delicious... really craving another piece right now!!!
I was expecting a great meal. Had great ratings on yelp....Left beyond disappointed. Pasta was horrible, and we all had something different. Service was mediocre, never checked back with us. There was a hair in one of the salads, they replaced it, but only because we had to flag someone down, not because anyone checked on us. For those prices we shouldnt have to FLAG anyone down for refills or a problem
Meal recommendation by our waiter Vaughn was awesome! He took great care of the eight of us friends who were out celebrating a few birthdays. All of us absolutely love our meals! Thanks so much especially after not having been out together since the COVID19 Outbreak. Keep up the great job!
Dined here with family tonight. This is my first experience here. The highly recommended shrimp saganaki appetizer was to die for! I ordered the cheese tortellini with chicken. The sauce on the pasta was the same heavenly creation as on the appetizer. Pizzas looked great, perhaps I will do that next time. I finished with the tiramisu. The spice on the appetizer and pasta dish was not very heavy. That was a relief for me because I am not a fan of spicy food. Everything was so amazing. I was blown away. Service was great. Mary was our server. Everyone seemed on point. I look forward to my next visit!
Best pasta I’ve had in a while! Ordered the tortellini which was fantastic. My boyfriend ordered the carbonara. It was the perfect date night/anniversary for us! Great service everything was awesome! Started with the eggplant Parmesan appetizer great dish. Overall a wonderful experience!Cons: parking
This restaurant was great, our family went on a whim and everyone left happy. We thought our server Lilly was so sweet and enjoyed talking about the menu with her. We sat at the oyster bar and watched them making salads and desserts, definitely planning to come back soon!
We stopped in randomly and were lucky to get seated right away. The waiter was very personable and attentive. We decided to try a new appetizer which was recommended and it was great. A watermelon and cheese combo with a nice dressing. It paired perfectly with my wine choice house Cabernet. She had the Grilled Chicken and Risotto while I adventured to try the Squid Ink Pasta with Frutti Di Mare special.I normally stay away from Futti Di Mare dishes when eating out because normally for what you pay, you don’t get very much seafood.I am glad I took the chance because Chef Christoper created a dish that was overwhelmed with a fine selection of seafood/shellfish. I couldn’t dream to finish it as it was just impossible due to the portion size. Well worth the money. The taste was very decadent and I look forward to the leftovers today for dinner. Surely will be an entire meal. She enjoyed her dish as well, but since I am writing this review, I can only speak to mine. I did however have a taste and thought it was done well.We both agreed we will be making this a regular stop when we are in Little Italy and I would highly recommend you do too!Cheers! ¡Salud!Stevan Martini
Showed up on a whim on a Friday night, we were told an hour and a half wait which is about what we expected for a drop in. Once we were seated our server Mike gave us the best possible experience. He had wines that fit our preferences out for us to try, ran through the specials but suggested his own favorite that I had to try for my first ever visit (so I did - cheesy tortellini with sausage added).Food was spectacular, service was excellent, Id be a happy man to go back and spend another night here
Service was fast and friendly, relaxed yet classy environment and I loved my food. I only wish I lived closer so I could go more often. I got a half serving of the pesto pasta and it was very good, in my opinion. The half serving filled me up just fine, especially with the bread they bring. I would visit this place again.
A great restaurant located in Little Italy. If you decided to check out Cleveland, Little Italy & this restaurant is a must! Parking is tight, so I would make sure to get there early to be able to find a spot. Also, there is not much seating so I would try to make a reservation. The menu is lightly limited, but has a variety of options & even gluten-free pizza & pasta.
They recommended we come by around 7 PM and wait to be seated outside, and that there was a good chance! We walked over (lovely area to walk through) and arrived at 7 PM. They had us seated by about 7:10 PM which was great for how busy they were! We had lovely outdoor seating and were waited on attentively by our sweet waitress.
Delicious pasta (I loved that the Baked Veges had meat and a little spice in it), and a very friendly staff. My waiter reminded me of Joey from Friends, and my girlfriend and I absolutely loved getting dinner there.Great romantic spot, and a good place for a nice Italian meal.
Absolutely incredible restaurant and I have never had a bad meal there. Food is always fresh and hot. Parking can be a bit tough but theres a public lot about 2 blocks away which usually has a spot. I go there usually once a week even to just sit at the bar and watch a game. Everyone has been friendly to me and the food is incredible. Cant ask for much more.
My friends and I came here for my birthday every detail was excellent! The food, the service, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Stephan was friendly fast, and efficient and Im sure everyone on staff helped to make his job easier. The silverware was the cleanest Ive ever seen and and the sauces were phenomenal. Love this place ... Ill be back!!!
On a non-busy Wednesday, had to flag down a server to order (after waiting 10 minutes). The wine was a short poor, the bread was just OK, the house salad was standard (an extra charge), had gnocchi which was under cooked but the sauce was awesome, shrimp (at extra cost) was nice. I was hoping for awesome since it was the “hot spot” on the Little Italy Main Street but nothing special.
Service was fast and friendly, relaxed yet classy environment and I loved my food. I only wish I lived closer so I could go more often. I got a half serving of the pesto pasta and it was very good, in my opinion. The half serving filled me up just fine, especially with the bread they bring. I would visit this place again.
We went here on a date night while apartment searching and it was absolutely wonderful. A little bit pricey but not bad at all and 100% worth it. Our waitress was phenomenal, very helpful and kind. The pasta was easily the best weve ever had. Cannot wait to come back here for more. I would definitely recommend.
My partner and I were excited for how highly this place was rated. And to their credit, they do accommodate gluten and dairy allergies well, and the staff was energetic and kind. However, the food was...underwhelming. The sautéd calamari was unfortunately chewy, and was served in a rather watery arrabbiata sauce. The house pasta sauce lacked a depth of flavor, as if it received little in the way of attention, salt, or spice before making its way from can to plate. I grew up in an Italian family in Cleveland, and I’d like to think I know a good plate of pasta when I see one...and I find it odd that a place in Little Italy has deviated so far from integrity of authentic Italian flavor.
We came from out of town because my husband had to get surgery at Cleveland Clinic, and we were recommended to eat at Mia Bella. So we tried it out for our first experience in a sit down restaurant in Cleveland. Overall to sum it up, it was an amazing experience. As soon as we walk in were greeted and seated. The hostesses were very nice. The setting of the restaurant was beautiful and had a very nice Italian feeling to it because of the small structure and Italian music. Our servers name was Valentino, and he was so very helpful answering every question we had on the menu. He was very patient and nice. In pasts experience with service at different restaurants, few servers have been this caring for their customers from start to finish. 10/10 rating on service.Once our food came out we were amazed by the presentation on the plate, and how huge the servings were! Once we bit into our food, I dont think Ive had a tastier Italian dish in my life. The chefs do an amazing job at what they do because this food was amazing and well worth the price. 10/10 rating on food presentation and taste. We were a little too stuffed at first to get dessert, but Valentino started to tell us about a desert special that they had, and insisted wed get it since it was a special and it wouldnt always be there. It was the Chocolate Ravioli. I thought it sounded weird at first, but when our server described it, I didnt care how stuffed I was, I absolutely had to have it. When this desert came out, I was amazed by the presentation and how delicious it actually was. Also, I dont recall ever going to a restaurant that has had desert specials, so I thought that was really cool.Overall I would give this restaurant 10/10 rating and would highly recommend it to anyone.
Excellent customer service. The food was fantastic! I would highly recommend Mia Bella. Weather permitting - eat inside or outside. Everything on the menu is good including the appetizers. The warm bread and seasoned butter is wonderful. Dont eat too much bread. I was in a group and we all had incredible food and service.

2022-05-22Upscale Italian restaurant with great meal choices. Their sauce is mostly beef based (veal, beef) with well balanced spices. Pasta is fresh and al dente. Good wine list. Service is very good too. Prices are very high so best to go on a special occasion.

2022-04-21Cozy corner restaurant for delicious Italian food. Loved our window view and overall warm environment. I tried the cheese tortellini and loved every bite.Virgin mojito was a bit overpriced for a whopping $11/cup! Overall a great place for a special occasion or evening out.

2021-08-10THE best Italian restaurant in Little Italy. The food is to die for, the service is great, and the atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. If you enjoy a nice meal while people watching, this is the place to go in the summer. Enjoy a nice glass of wine at one of the tables outside and take in the quaint surroundings of Little Italy. Their sugo (tomato sauce) is the best I’ve tried—hearty and tangy. The pasta is fresh and delicious. I have yet to try a dish I have not enjoyed.

2022-02-18Absolutely amazing. This is totally worth the hype. Martinis and Mixed drinks were excellent. The Calamari appetizer was to die for! We also had Veal Piccata, Cheese Ravioli with Chicken, New York Cheese Cake, Brownie topped with Pisachio Gelato, and Bread Service. Not a single complaint about the food or service. Our seat near the door was a bit cold with the weather. But I would not count this as a negative. We will definitely be going back, but will probably ask for a seat at the bar.

2022-03-08Food was fantastic, service was ok but the bathrooms were both closed which made for a rushed dining experience when you have two children that both wanted and needed to use the facilities

2021-10-23Ordered a Mia Bella pasta and the Chicken Especial, both were delicious and tasted fresh. The portion sizes were plenty and even had leftovers. The blood and sand cocktail had too much bitters added to it. However their whiskey list contained a variety and even a decent looking flight of Blantons rarities. The only small issue was, we called ahead and the hostess said there was no wait and no need to make reservations. However, after arriving 30 mins later the place was packed. We left our names down and took a little over and hour for us to be seated.

2021-07-23My girlfriend and I were in the area for my birthday and we wanted to go somewhere nice for dinner and Im glad we chose Mia Bella. We arrived at our reservation time of 8pm and requested to sit outside and it was a great ambiance as the sun set and little Italy lit up, definitely worth waiting a few extra minutes as we were in no hurry anyways. Our server was a young man who was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and daily specials. I had the lobster ravioli which was amazing and my girlfriend ordered the cheese tortellini and lets just say I can see why its an award winner! She also had a side order of meatballs which were also very tasty. I didnt mind the slightly higher pricing because I felt the food/portions were worth it! Overall a great experience and well gladly return when in the area again!

2021-12-06Mia-belly was happy and full after this delicious meal. The candlelit tables by the windows really created a fancy, yet still laid- back feel. It’s a great spot for a date night or nice dinner with friends. Make a reservation before coming.
