Mercy Health - Rookwood Medical Center in other cities:
Awful absolutely awfulI went for a testing because I had pain when going to the bathroom and every single person I spoke with was rude. With the exception of the young lady at the front desk. A respiratory doctor named tiuana was the meanest woman I’ve encountered. She snapped at my girlfriend for no reason. The lead doctor didn’t provide any council but she offered the choice to take antibiotics for something that we weren’t sure I had yet. And the lead nurse was abysmal when I told her that I may need some different attention but she said that us kids these days are one of a kind and we come to the hospital for anything. I’m 25
5 star Excellent service. I broke my leg bone and the helped me immediately.0 stars for the billing. It takes over 3 months for this to figure out how much it cost, and then that is due immediately. Somehow they also dont know if that if that is the only bill as the other people there at there own hospital may still have bills that havent processed after 3 months to charge me there thousands of dollars bills.
Absolutely terrible service and a negligent doctor. I took my 2 year old daughter after she fell down the steps. I was told it was not a serious injury but they would need to give her stitches. After collecting my co-pay, the doctor and staff had to numb my daughters eye. Being 2 years old she was scared and screaming and not sitting still. The doctor, who told me it was not serious, realized he had an uncooperative patient and told me that it was actually more serious then he thought and I needed to go to Childrens instead (even the attending nurses did a slight eye roll). When I got to Childrens they asked me repeatedly why I had been sent since the injury could have easily been cared for at Mercy. It was complete negligence on the doctors behalf. At the end of the day, I just dont think he wanted to deal with a 2 year old patient. To make matters worse, Mercy/Jewish refuses to refund my co-pay even though no services were rendered. When I originally called they said they would refund me right away. Never did. Called again. Was told the refund would be received in 14 business days. Never came. Called again and they told me they were not refunding the co-pay since technically we were seen by a doctor. Overall terrible experience with the facility and with the corporate/billing staff at Jewish. I certainly will never use this facility again and would advise others not to either.
The 2 stars are only for my nurses. They were way more compassionate and patient with me than my doctor was. I came in with pelvic and back pain and explained to the nurses all of my symptoms. Dr. Goebel came in and immediately insuiated that my symptoms indicated an STD and followed up by literally saying that my symptoms are getting worse because of choices that I chose to make. I explained to him that I am in fact free of STD s and that the pain was definitely coming from something else. His demeanour at first was almost confrontational and very arrogant. He obviously didnt take me seriously. After a quick exam he sent me to get a CT scan which then showed what was really going on. I explained to the technician how rude my doctor was and she was very receptive and apoligized on his behalf. At the end of the day everyone did their job and helped me figure out what was going on with my health, but I will not be returning in future due to the way this man treated me.
My review photos should be posted soon:Im Ryan Eason, and I came into the ROOKWOOD MEDICAL CENTER in November because Ive had long standing back issues, and I had been seeing a chiropractor for about a month.Id told my chiropractor after this final day of treatment that if I did not feel any actual better results (the pain was becoming borderline unbearable), that I would have to give up his services. So after the services at his office that day, he gives me a prescription for an x-ray at The Rookwood medical center. It was a Saturday morning, and the service that day was nothing particularly special, it wasnt a horrible wait time at least. After my x-rays were taken, the center gave me a DVD disc with the X-ray and report results on it, and my chiropractor had stated that he could not read the disc (about a week later). But when he called the radiology department, they orally translated what was on the disc for him, and after that, the chiropractor refused to treat me anymore.I took the disc to my primary provider, and she said that she could not read the disc and the center wouldnt give her the reports orally, so I told her that Id get her a new one....I did, and after I got that second disc, they told me at the center that thats the way they handle all of their x-ray reports, and that they never had any complaints before about people not being able to be read the discs. So, after two months of haggling over discs that can be read, and my primary care provider being unable to proceed with treatment because the medical center wont communicate with her.....I am posting text screenshots of professional radiology Incorporated (the billing department of The Rookwood medical center radiology department) attempting to extract payment from me for materials that cannot be read that is causing delays in the furthering of my diagnosis and treatment. Please avoid The Rookwood medical center at all cost, all of these negative comments and reviews are completely accurate.Edit: On the morning of 1/11/2019, my primary provider did inform me that the results of the disc did finally show up in her emails, better late than never.....Id still recommend avoiding the Rookwood medical center, no human being has the luxury of unnecessarily gambling with their health!
I knew better before I even went here but due to the fact that I was having such a hard time breathing I figured I should go nearest to my home. Big mistake. Let me start by saying we may have been the only people there seeking treatment. They clearly were not busy. I check in telling them that I am struggling to breath. I am told to have a seat and someone will be right out for me. As Im sitting waiting out comes a nurse with plates of food to serve the lady at the desk and security. She sees that I am watching this and she yells someone will be with you shortly. No urgency. Told me that I had a viral upper respiratory tract infection with cough. Told me they didnt want to do a breathing treatment as I have no history of asthma and gave me pills to stop me from coughing. I had to go to Christ ER two days later. They had me in a room in seconds with 3 people working on me. Long story short I had bronchitis and the breathing treatment helped immediately. The difference of service and knowledge was night and day. Cant say I would ever go back to Mercy and hate to see what the poorest treatment ever is going to cost me.
I had the absolute WORST medical experience of my life here! I walked in with hand trauma and asked if they could help. My friend, a surgeon called ahead and spoke to the doctor about how to numb my hand and what to do from there. The doctor said he was comfortable with treating me. I was taken back and given a few shots to numb my hand. The doctor then immediately started cutting my hand. I screamed and said that it was not numb and to wait - then he shook his head and said he didnt think he could numb a hand at all. I told him to stop cutting to which he said, you have to suck it up and deal, I cant make it numb. I could feel everything and cannot tell you how horrible this felt. It was beyond hideous. I didnt run away and I really wish I had. This place is beyond horrible and I would never tell someone to go here. Side note: I called the hospital a few weeks later. I told them what happened after seeing a hand surgeon and being assured that what happened to me was beyond hideous. I said I just wanted someone to hear what happened and fix what was going on there so no one else had this horrible experience. After more than a few calls, a woman who had taken down details said she wasnt in charge of that facility and she checked with her supervisor and they had no control over what happened there. I can not tell you how horrible this whole experience was in this review.
No matter what location, Mercy Hospitals are the WORST!The staff are all unprofessional and slow to assist if then even do help at all.The doctors have no bedside manner and little to no medical knowledge it seems. They do not run the proper tests and turn people away who are legitimately in need of medical care. Ive known more than one person who has died in their care.I would rather die than ever to to any of their facilities, theyd just kill me themselves with their I incompetency if I were to go there anyways.I went there on 10/4/18 because I was experiencing swelling in my feet for days.Dr. Fain was quick to dismiss me with its just something that happens and didnt seem too interested in any further examination until I demanded that my kidney and heart function be tested to eliminate the worst possibilities. They did a blood sample and urinalysis and he came back and said my heart and kidneys are fine and prescribed me Lasix and gave me my discharge papers. Nowhere in my paperwork was mention of the tests ran or that I was cleared of heart and kidney issues - I need the information for work clearance! He listed pedal edema on my paperwork, which actually can be heart related, and stated to elevate my feet. When I went back to the facility to request a note from him stating that he stated my heart is not why he prescribed me Lasix, the staff were rude and dismissive and stated he said he would not do write me anything and I have to have their Medical Records Department send me that information that will take several days, if not weeks, to receive or I need to make an appointment with my primary care physician and pay more in medical expenses toward my deductible that hasnt been met on top of the huge bill Im going to get for an ER visit already. They are useless and have never made any of their patients lives easier - its always the opposite... If they even survive Mercy in the first place.
I went to this here tonight it was the worse experience of my life. The nurses did not listen and was very rude. The nurses that serviced me was Alexis and Jennifer. We made Jennifer aware that I am a hard stick and she needed to give my IV in my hand instead of listening she decided to stick me in the arm, the vein that she stuck blew. She then tried to go in thru my hand but she stuck the needle in so deep that she blew the second vein. When I screamed out in pain she acted as if was my fault that she hurt me. When I asked for a additional nurse she became very nasty to me, she did not care that she hurt me at all. The second nurse Alexis acted as she did not care and that me being there was an inconvenience. I will never return to this hospital.
I have unfortunately been to the hospital three times in past two years. I dont normally write reviews but, after seeing some of the bad reviews i felt compelled to write. All three of my visits there, once for my wife, once for one of my children and, the last time for me were as easy and enjoyable as a hospital visit can be. The wait was was short and the staff was friendly.
They have misdiagnosed many people including my dad and friends. My dad was very sick and was clean off drugs for a month and they turned him away thinking he just wanted to be sedated and he died days later. They told my friend who was having pain she just pulled a muscle then she went to UC and found out she had a major blood clot. They are lazy and don’t do their jobs the right way they would rather get the patients in and out. Terrible place to go to. Only good for minor things. Don’t ever come here with serious problems they will be no help and the staff is not very polite.
If I could give fewer stars I would. My daughter was seen in the freestanding ER today. She told them of her history with kidney stones. They diagnosed kidney stones, gave her a shot and a narcotic, but refused to give her a prescription for use at home. I was told by the nurse that she could come back in if the pain was bad. I guess she can go back in for another dose if the stone doesnt pass? Then we can be billed fora second visit? Hopefully the episode has passed. - Nurse Lynn. I was on the phone with my daughter when Dr. Sain indicated that he would send her home with a prescription (for the hydrocodone that she took with her last stones OCTOBER 2016). The doctor sometime after talking to me on the phone and after telling my daughter that he give her a prescription decided that the ER needed to bill us again, rather than refill her prescription. Instead he gave a script for ibuprofen. So, she is to get by with 3 pills from 2016 or go back into the ER. This was excessive. She had the pills with her, had either looked at the bottle that she handed them, they would have known she wasnt an addict looking for a fix. When I called in, Nurse Lynn said, well she is a college student. My daughter is a junior deans list student. NEVER EVER will we go back. Plus, Dr. Sain, people with kidney issues should not be given ibuprofen. Not only big brother, but also, poor medical advice.
I visited this medical center 4 days after swimming through sewage water that was rushing into the Little Miami River after my kayak flipped dumping me into the river. DISGUSTING!I went to this facility because I had been very sick and I was terrified that I had contracted something horrible.I was seen by Dr. Amir Nagavi. He was very rude and quick to tell me that this was “not an emergency”. While I was trying to explain what happened to me he actually stopped me and said, “Yeah yeah. It doesn’t matter. You look fine to me.” He prescribed Imodium and something for nausea as well as an antibiotic that he told me not to take unless I wasn’t feeling better in TWO days. WELL. . . Dr. Nagavi, YOU WERE VERY WRONG!After the poor medical care and STUPID advise I received here , I called my PCP and told them what happened. My doctor was very upset that that doctor told me to take Imodium when he didn’t know what was causing my symptoms and not to take the antibiotic for 2 days. My doctor changed the antibiotic and told me to take it as soon as I got it. And told me NOT to take that Imodium, but to come in to the lab to give a stool sample. The results are back and it’s Campylobacter which is HIGHLY contagious. I was even contacted by the HEALTH DEPARTMENT!!!!!So Dr. Nagavi, the next time a patient shows up for medical attention after being submerged in human waste you may want to do more with the stool sample they bring you instead of acting disgusted by it and saying “Welll, it is a FUNKY color.”Avoid this place if you can. If you need fast QUALITY medical attention go to the Christ Urgent Care on Redbank Road.
This place is awful , was at home when my vision Suddenly changed my eyes were completely dilated and I couldn’t even make out the features on my own face booking in the mirror from a few inches away not to mention my head started pounding and my face got red and burned . Called my doctor and waited . After about an hour of this I decided to go Didn’t have transportation so had to walk like this to the hospital . When I got there the doctor walked in didn’t look at my examin me talk to me just said . “ I don’t believe you your making it up should have went to a different hospital “ then walked out leaving me scared and confused knowing that I could go anywhere else . By the time I got home my lips and eyes and face swelled up pretty bad . Doctor finally called . Bad reaction to a new med I started the morning told me to go back to be safe . I didn’t of course . I’ve never been to a hospital that literally out me in tears before I left . So awful job Rookwood . The nurses are great though .
Would not recommend this facility. A in-network hospital, but out of network providers. Is this a joke? If you go here expect multiple bills from out-of-network doctors. This basically means you will be paying out of pocket even if you thought you had good insurance. Ohio needs to pass laws against this practice. Google “surprise medical bills”. It’s a real problem.
I was seen yesterday, October 3, 2018, for my sciatic nerve. Dr. Fain prescribed me Prednisone, to which I told him I was allergic, it was in my file saying I was allergic also. He convinced me it was in my head and that there was no way I could be allergic to it, so I took it, because hes the doctor, right? Well this morning I woke up with the same symptoms Ive had before, red, itchy skin all over. I will never give my business to this facility ever again, and I suggest you hire doctors that listen to their patients, as much as we are to listen to them.
I scheduled a dermatologist appt here about 4-5 months ago. I received a voicemail about 2 business days before the appointment.. the voicemail didn’t include the address in which I was suppose to go. The day of my appointment I called them and waited and waited trying to get someone on the phone to clarify what the address was. I had to miss time from work for this appointment ... with this being my first appointment I wasn’t certain where to go as they have dermatologist in kenwood and rookwood... I knew the voice mail said “wood” at the end but I couldn’t remember the front wording.. I came all the way to kenwood just to find out my appointment was in rookwood. Before coming I also tried to google “mercy health dermatologist in rookwood” nothing popped up under that which is what lead me to come to the kenwood office. I’m irritated beyond measures that I got here to find out I was at the wrong place! If only they would’ve answered the phones!!! Now I had to reschedule and I’m going to have to yet again miss time from work this is unbelievable I’m highly upset with mercy at this point.
WILL NEVER EVER GO HERE AGAIN!! Took my spouse here after violent vomiting and breaking out in hives... waited 45 mins after the nurse left for the doctor, doctor came in asks three questions and abruptly left the room without explanation. When I went to the desk to ask the nurses they blew me off say oh he had a phone call .... I ask was it personal no ones answered terrible!!!
Worst possible place in Cincinnati to go to... Went in for kidney stones, the nurse was very nasty towards me, rolled her eyes and said, ya, thats what all the heroin addicts say... they didnt do anything for me and sent me on my way and said to take some ibuprofen and I would be fine... A couple days later I was rushed to the hospital at 4.a.m. to have emergency surgery because I DID have kidney stones and they were to too large to be passed... I was pretty furious that not only was i called a heroin junkie, but also that it could have all possibly been avoided, but they are the most uncaring, rude, and nasty medical professionals in the tri-state area...
The worst of the worst. Terrible doctors and horribly unorganized billing department. Ive been on two different occasions and both times I ended up having to go to a different hospital due to the incompetency at Mercy. Do yourself a favor and drive a few extra miles to go somewhere else.

2022-04-11My 9 yr old daughter was there over the weekend with 104 temp. They would only let one parent in, front desk was extremely rude!! They only had a PCR Covid test which takes days to get results. I had to ask for a strep test which they didn’t feel the need as my daughter said her throat was hurting. They ONLY wanted to do a chest X-ray to get the bill higher. That was Saturday and today STILL NO TEST RESULTS! I called and even the nurse didn’t want to help me. My daughter is still fighting a high fever today. Don’t take your loved one there or yourself. IMO.

2022-07-11Extremely rude and dismissive. I came in with a sore throat and my ears hurting. Everyone assumed I had Covid and gave me a test. The doctor came in and did his exam, wrote in his notes he didn’t find anything( Gave me 2 Tylenol and sent me on my way. When I get my test results back I was negative. Don’t waste your time, go to the urgent care in Norwood plaza. Update - went to Tri Health and was immediately diagnosed with Strep. The doctor did the exam and seen white patches in my throat and severe swelling on the left and right side. Gave me steroids and antibiotics.

2022-06-03I read all of the negative reviews regarding this emergency center.I was highly urged by a good friend of mine who is an RN,and teaches nursing to go there for an emergency I had with an infected thumb.I truly trust my friend and her recommendations,so I went.Everyone there was great- Caleb at the front desk was terrific in his position,Brenda who got my vitals,Lisa the nurse and of course ,Dr.Duclaire.They all tended to me in a very prompt manor, with a true concern for my well being!I wouldnt hesitate to go back if ever needed ,or recommend it to friends!visit quelled

2022-03-14My aunt Died because of this horrible place. And they used thire strict No visitor rules to Do it. They let her lay and Die and wouldn’t let me or anyone stay with her. I will never do business with Mercy health anymore. It’s not the first time they made someone worse off either. They almost killed my fiancé 2 years ago by mid diagnosis. Verry bad hospital that cares nothing about thire patients or the family’s. There’s no mercy at mercy health.

2022-01-20I just got a voice mail on my machine that stated we need you to call us back this is the doctors office of Dr ******** then left the number. No hello no reason for callback, no who to ask for no nothing. Extremely unprofessional tone on my voice mail. I am sick with something weird and I am worried not feeling good mind you. So I call back and the person who answered the phone transferred me to the office and these people who answered the phones acted like i was interrupting their day. I told them I had blood drawn and that the person who left the message did not say why. They would not help me and said they had to transfer me to the lab lol. Never in my life Have I came across such un professional Medical staff Im appalled. They didnt even try to look up my chart or look at my results nothing. As soon as i find out the supervisor they better do something.

2021-11-30I concur with a majority of the other reviews. From the time you walk into the office, the receptionist had a negative disposition. The directions she gave for signing-in were muddled and incoherent. The nurse that came out to get the next patient called everyone by their first name. Then proceeded to touch everything in his surroundings. He went to put gloves on to take my blood. I asked if he could wash his hands. He became very defensive, snatched the gloves off and washed his hands. After taking the blood, he left the room, no goodbye, have a good day, etc. I really dont see this facility having longevity unless they clean house of its current staff.

2022-07-12Update:Dont do Dermatology here. Dr. Dana Elkeeb is very unprofessional and so is her team. She stays canceling appointments and wont reschedule and will ignore your messages in the MyChart app. She will be gone in May. Go after that if you must. Will be sending my daughter elsewhere.Havent had any other real issues with this place. Urgent Care can be slow at times but Ive brought my husband here, my daughter and two of our sons. I also see the Family Doc and OBGYN here and she has been the best. The OBGYN went out of her way to find out what my last OBGYN did completely wrong.I see many negative reviews, so I wanted to add my experiences. Ive also worked in hospitals enough to know that SOME patients can be biased and complain for no reason. They dont fully understand the ins and outs of how procedures go.

2021-11-29Left me sitting open wound bleeding all over the place for nearly 3 hours. The nurse Brenda byrd is an absolute joke. Rude. Aggressive and overall unpleasant. Dont go here. Let a man walk through hallway after having a stroke, arm just a dangling. Should of been my get out card right there.

2021-03-10Dr. Kim has the bedside manner of a wet mop. Walked in the room didnt say hi or introduce herself. I had to say hello 1st. Acted like I wasnt a priority. Lifted my top while the room door was open. Very unprofessional. I will go to another hospital from now on or not at all. Dont like being treated like trash.

2022-04-09This hospital is very unprofessional and needs to be shut down and new staff brought in only then would it be a good hospital again
