Menards in other cities:
Wally! Great guy, came out to the hot parking lot and unloaded into our car heavy water softener bags for us- we didn’t ask- Wally just popped up!Thanks!!Employees like Wally and 11% rebate are good reasons to return.Nice store.Another visit, and this time Cole came out to load the water softener! Thanks!A few months later Jordan loaded 10 paver stones in our 4 Runner for us, nice, helpful young man!
I love the variety of products they have as well as the quality of their lumber but when it comes to customer service they are the worst of the big three home supply stores. The way they handle the return of lumber requires an hour of your day and the patients of a saint. Today I wanted to pick up a couple of sheets of OSB and when I went to the counter for them to print up an order they said that they only had one computer that was working and since that one was tied up they couldn’t help me. Went to Lowes and got what I wanted very easily.
This is for the online experiences Ive had over the last week. Your in-stock numbers need to be updated timely. Went to 3 stores last week that said an item I needed was in stock and when I get there (within 10 minutes of checking online), there is no stock. So, today, I see 24 of the item in stock, place an online order for 10, it goes through. Then, I see only 14 are in stock, so far so good. Nope... I then get an email saying my order is now on back order due to the item being sold out. Do you fill internet orders timely or do they just get filled whenever? Very frustrating.
My favorite store, I can get so many things I need including my home improvement items and dry groceries in the same store.I also love that Menards is a handy store with a toy section so it makes getting Saturday Supply trips more enjoyable bringing my daughter and letting her go shopping too. Also let’s talk selection this place is massive and offers great products at great prices.
Worst customer cervice Ive ever had. Bought and paid for cabinets and countertops they charged me for everything but didnt place the order for 3 of my cabinets. Now Im waiting 8 more weeks forn2 cabinets my contractor cant finish the job without cabinets now I have to pay more money and wait to get our job done. Not to mention they cant look up your receipts after 90 days. When I went back in to talk about the missing cabinets I was treated as I didnt pay l, treated me like I was trying to steal. Dont wast your time cant talk to anyone in corporate dont think they even exist. Total joke. Definitely go to LOWES or HOME DEPOT
The lack of provision for customers with limited mobility is unacceptable considering how much money menards brings in. My husband, who has MD, and I, went to shop here today and we could only find one broken down wheelchair that had a wobbly wheel, about to bust through, and we only saw one electric wheelchair in the whole store, (in which someone else was already using). We would love to shop at menards more however it was not a good experience due to the lack of amenities for handicap customers.
I needed garden center items including 50 lb bags of rock. There were no dollies only carts which was also a complaint of the employee whom I asked about one. His reply of Ive been looking for one all morning maybe ,try outside wasnt helpful ! Ended up dragging a overloaded cart from back of the outside area to front of the store. Wont do it again ! Cashier was sympathetic and nice so at least there was that.
While my return was handled with zero problems, I was also looking for a pair of Tiki Torches. I realize that its the end of the season, but when Menards websight states that they have 26 in stock then there should be 26 out on the floor. I showed the page to a employee and basically got a run around. Its not just Menards doing this but quite a few of the stores dont update their website and then waste customers time and money by not having the items on hand. In my opinion this is a form of false advertising that happens too often and Im getting real tired of it.
Had BEST help from a blonde guy named Rob. He knows the store, is well educated in many departments, is polite and simply THE BEST reflection of customer service Ive experienced in a long time. From the gardening dept. to cleaners to paints to 2 other areas this man was wonderful. Thanks ROB for your help and patience with and older customer!
Lots of stuff. Very confusing layout. Designed to make you walk through the entire store (real surprise there, huh?).Worst thing is their 11% rebate. Nope, not a rebate but a STORE CREDIT. Like giving you a coupon. Marketing scam, really. Dont shop because of this.Lumber yard is laid out quirky. No one around to help. Never did find 3/4 AC plywood. Took a T&G sheet instead. No instructions as to where everything is located. Gate guy sent us to the completely wrong end of the building. And, watch what they charge compared to the price on the shelf. The computer had the price at (gasp) 11% higher than the shelf was marked. They honored the shelf price, but of course we had to wait for a manager to approve. So, shop there for the selection (of LOTS of Chinese made stuff) but beware of the 11% scam.
I shopped in the garden center. I bought 2 beautiful hanging baskets. The only negative thing is they only had one cashier at checkout there were approximately 12 people in line waiting to check out. This has been the case my last two visits. I went back into the store and checked out without waiting.
Menards has great deals for your home maintenance needs. With the sweet deal of an 11% rebate on items that include clearance, and great customer service. I will continue to shop there. Payed for bamboo cordless blind in clearance with rebate check. Got rebate for clearance blinds. Now thats savings.
Dont come here if you really need something or value your time. I came by to pick up some bags of gravel and they were no where to be found. All I found were two employees both of which had a line of customers following them around. This place wasted my time twice but never again. Im better off saving myself an hour and going directly to Lowes or home depot. At least they have a reasonable employee to customer ratio.
My husband was in the Minards in Miamisburg for an hour and 1/2 today looking for product to install our fireplace we purchased from them. No one helped him for the entire time he was there. He even went to the paint department and stood there for 15 minutes and no one ever came to the desk after leaving with what he thinks he needs to finish the installation I called the front end manager, he was no help! He asked me what could we have done to help... I said have employees that are willing to help your customers! This is not the 1st time we have experienced this customer service at this location. I can only hope 1 day they may actually be a store that is there for the consumer and not just there for employees to walk around doing nothing!
Ive been into the store twice and found the staff unfriendly and unhelpful. The first time I was browsing. The second time I was ready to make a (large) purchase and needed some questions answered and a little guidance.I couldnt get the the help I needed and so I walked away empty-handed. The guy I spoke to referred me to the website several times even after I had told him Id been on the website already.
Their 11% rebate is a scam. You do in fact get it, but it’s in the form of a coupon that can only be used with them. Additionally, if you don’t mail in the rebate, then return something, they will give you your refund -11%. They assume that you mailed in the form.Bottom line is you should go with Lowe’s or Home Depot and skip the knock off.
A great place to shop for your home improvement needs. They have reasonable prices and there are employees that can actually help you. unlike so many of the big box stores. And their store rebates are great. Especially when they offer 11% off everything in the store. Just keep in mind that their rebates are checks that can only be spent on future items in the store. but its still worth it.Today, however, they are doing some major remodeling. So they had the store torn up. I wanted to look at things in those areas and the items were gone. I really hope they get their chances. done soon. And their product back on their shelves.
OMG this store is heaven 😍 its better than homedepot and Lowes. My husband stays in the store for hours and finds things that other stores dont have and the prices are very reasonable. Menards is a wonderful discovery. We purchased everything needed in one trip and no need to go elsewhere. We love it.
The staff has always been quite friendly as well as helpful. I have gone in many times needing assistance in the building materials section and have always had my questions answered quickly. Additionally, theyve been extremely knowledgeable about what I need and how best to assist. I have gone back many times and despite their lack of big names for power tools such as DeWalt, Milwaukee, or Stihl, they do have a large selection of just about anything you might need with decent prices and an often offered 11% rebate promotion.
I ventured out to buy the least expensive tile cutter, for my first and probably only time, putting in porcelain bathroom tiles. Drove to Harbor Freight and had a thought to check Menards online before I go in. And, Menards was less expensive. This is the second time this happened to me. A few weeks ago I went to the same store for jumper cables and Menards had comparable size and was less expensive.I needed band aids also, like I said its my first time, but couldnt locate them and didnt ask. I made another stop on the way home.
Lighting Department female employee fairly rude when asking if I had a mask. This has been about 30 minutes into my shopping. No where is the rule deemed by signs in the store. And several other consumers did not have mask on as well. Also to mention I passed several management personnel and not one had said anything.I complied with no complaint, but her customer service handle was not of what I am used too shopping at thide location.Overall, store had what I needed and at great prices as well.
This one always has drama. Not friendly. Stuff is not in order in a lot of areas. Just not a pleasant place to shop. As much as I like Menards this location is a no go for me. There are better store locations and other brand stores to shop at. Lowes is down the street. They are super friendly and very helpful. About 1 mile apart. But worlds apart how they approach customers.
Spot on service 95% of the time! The only gripe I have is that you have to go all the way to the back of the store, order your lumber, carry the receipt back to the front of the store, then go get in your vehicle and drive around back to load up. Why couldnt they put a lumber ordering station by the front doors to save 15 minutes off the visit?
I reassessed your rating which went from 1 to 5 stars. Two reasons for the change. First, Chris in appliances was excellent in resolving a problem had with online order. Not only did he resolve the issue but explained when I would be notified. Really nice person. The second reason is that you require people to wear masks. I am nurse, have immunosuppressed people in my family from autoimmune disease and another is transplant. I really appreciate you protecting them. Thank you so muchCustomer service is horrible here. Last time it took me 25 minutes to find help getting lids to trash cans, everyone I asked said it wasnt their department. I should have known better than to return, every time I come here I walk away frustrated. Stood in roof/railing department waiting for assistance for long time. Assumed the two men behind the register that were chit chatting were probably not customer service since they never once stepped away to ask anyone if they could be of assistance. I figured they were just cashiers. There was one man on the floor and he was assisting someone. It took awhile because he was showing them how to install railing, etc. I stood there waiting, when he finished with them, he looked at me and before I could ask a question he walked behind the desk to be with the other fellas. Guess it was because I was female and couldnt possibly know about home improvement things outside spectrum of paint and material. So I came here to pick up case of propane for someone, thought I might try getting a few things again for myself. Be careful, they have stickers showing the fire alarm is on sale for 24.99 but at checkout they charge 34.99. There were two signs showing the 24.99. This seems like false advertising to me. I just went and returned the items I purchased for myself. I will purchase it at Sams Warehouse. I should have known better than to shop here for myself.
Have always loved the selection, quality, and price of products at Menards. Especially appreciate that during the current pandemic, they are keeping the store clean. Employees can be seen cleaning the handles of doors, hand rails, carts, and other high touch points throughout the store! All employees are wearing masks and they want customers to as well. I have been there 3 times in the last couple weeks and this behavior was happening each visit.
I use to love Menards. My kids use to love going there. They had fun helping picking out items for the next project. Menards no kids policy is extremely frustrating. When we arrived at the door and employee block our way and informed us the kids are not allowed to enter. There was a new policy. I could come in, but the kids would have to stay outside. I ended up taking my business to Lowes. Even if they lift this policy just the harshness of the employee is the reason I wont be back.
Kinda warm inside and the cashier (Maggie) was so unfriendly! Plus the looks the old bag gave me when I changed my mind on not wanting am item, I shouldve just left all my stuff and walked out. I said something to my mom about it and she interrupted just to clarify she wasnt being rude. Than I explained to her its the dirty looks she gives and she just went about her way.Terrible customer service. I do not recommend
The store itself is great, good deals, lots of decent tools and products, nice selection. Its the staff and management at my store (Miamisburg OH) thats the issue. Most of the staff are rude and unhelpful. They act like its an inconvenience to answer questions. Most are young people, but management is the same way. The female managers and supervisors snear at me when I leave giving a cold and unfriendly have a nice day I stopped responding. Just very rude. Another issue is they move stuff around too much and dont tag half their wood products so its a pain to buy without needing to call for assistance or item lookup. Returns are easy so thats nice. We spend upwards of $15,000 a year there but I guess that diesnt matter to them. Not to mention their glorified doorman who thinks its ok to belittle people without a mask. And to charge a dollar to wear a mask in your store to buy your products....come on how cheap are you? You make billions...cant spare a few thousand for the common wellbeing of your customers for a mandate you ordered? Pathetic. Regardless, Lowes and Home Dept are no different. To the staff if you dont like your job or its too hard to stock shelves find another job. Im tired of seeing that scowl on your face every weekend when I go. And to the management get control of your staff, start listening to complaints because eventually a new HI store will come around and make you obsolete and to staff, management, CEO, presidents, chairs just remember this. People like me pay your paycheck. You work for US! If it werent for your customers you wouldnt be there. Be more grateful
We needed a dining room light. The specialty stores are too pricey and Lowes and Home Depot have a limited banal selection. Not so at Menards. They have a huge selection of many different styles. If you need lighting that is stylish and moderately priced check out Menards.
Menards had a better plywood selection when I compared online with Lowes and Home Depot. But... The boards where all beat up. The board I thought looked the best ended up having a foot long cut right in the center off one edge. The store is arranged to make you walk around all the junk you dont go to a home store to buy. When coming out of an aisle a worker pulling a pallet jack about ran into me and didnt even acknowledge I was there after I quickly stepped back.Their prices are good... But thats because they sell a lot of things from brands you have never heard of.When I cashed out, I was not offered a receipt. I guess thats how they make sure you dont submit the mail in rebate.I much rather go to Lowes and Home Depot, which arent any more expensive when comparing things of similar quality.
The only reason I’m giving this company a star is because the GM Tyler was able to help my fiancé today. Robin the very nasty woman at the customer service counter that they should fire was incredibly rude today. We purchased a lawn mower in June and it has been in and out of the repair shop 3 different times. This lawn mower has been in the shop for 8 total weeks and I had to beg the GM over the phone for a refund so that I didn’t have to keep dealing with taking it to the repair shop. He finally agreed a week ago and we drive from Cincinnati to Springboro where we purchased the mower originally all for Robin to tell us she wouldn’t refund the mower. When we asked Robin to speak to the GM she refused to call the GM to the front of the store. I had to walk out of this store into the parking lot to call the GM on the phone, waited on hold for a total of 10 minutes for him to answer the phone. Once we get Tyler on the phone to explain what is now occurring up front with miss know it all, no customer service having Robin he processes our refund so we can drive the 54 minutes back home.It was irritating enough to purchase a $240 mower that didn’t work out of the box, their entire repair process is ridiculous and having to drive the mower 3 different times to and from the repair shop since June is insane. And that’s a 40 minute drive each way from my home because the repair shop is in north Cincinnati. And the poop on the shoe was dealing with Robin. The woman that thinks she has way more power than she actually does. Maybe consider going over coaching with her all over again because whomever it was that trained the horrid woman only did half the work needed. I repeat Robin is a terrible asset to your team and the reason we will never return to any Menards. We will take our business elsewhere.
Was surprised at how many people were in Menards.... looking for new shower heads like us this evening like we were.. and we were able to find Two different shower heads and a sliding bar for me ( I short and definitely need one ..lol and at great prices.. This is one of our favorite store to do our shopping in
I typically order from the menards in Tipp City but deceided to go with the one on Springboro Pike. Worse experience ever!!! It took over a month for my flooring to be delivered. Meanwhile Ive paid for a floor I dont have. Then when it FINALLY get delivered to the store, they cant find it!!!! So there is 3 people searching for a 15ft×26ft floor. How hard is that to find??!! They finally find it and now someone has to be found that knows how to drive a forklift. WTH!!!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!
Very rude assistant yelling at me to wear a mask. She then tried to sell me one. LMAOOO. I used to do a lot of business here. Home Depot and Lowes are so close and they were happy to get MY business. With 3 of these contractor stores so close to each other, I have a choice and I wont be back
I dont normally write reviews but we are very unhappy with our experience. We ordered some privacy fence to be delivered today and they said it would be here between 2 and 6pm. We had not heard anything at 5:55 pm so my husband called and they said we were next to be delivered. At 7:00 pm we still had not heard anything so he called again and asked for a manager. The manager said he would find out what was going on and call us right back. At 7:30 we again still had not heard back from the manager. He called again for the manager and he said they were loading ours now and they would be here. Its after 8:00 and we still havent seen our delivery. The manager kept saying they were really busy because of covid. We get it, places are busy but that has nothing to do with poor scheduling and poor communication on their part. We will not be repeat customers!Update*** they also shorted us product and some of the panels were broken!
Went to buy garden decor and selected 2 pinwheel stakes and rang up different than shelf price .Employee wouldnt scan the shelf sticker price .then proceeds to scan similar item to compare .then didnt take off 3rd item before ringing up my purchase if 2 items. Like pay attention to what your doing. Isnt that your job !
My family and I were stopped at the door by an employee stating we could not go any further without having a mask on. He then told us we could purchase a mask from them to wear. I told the employee no thank you I am not buying a mask and that I would take my business elsewhere that do not require you to wear a mask to shop. This is not a requirement from the Governor but only a recommendation. I believe menards will lose more business due to this.
Great experience. Staff extremely helpful especially, Jennifer, in Home & Garden section. She escorted me to all of the items that I purchased. This was helpful because I had only visited the store on one other occasion. I was pleasantly surprised that I could purchase grocery items. This saved me time because I would have had to make an additional stop. Please commend Jennifer for providing excellent customer service. I will definitely return.
Went to Menards on Fathers Day. Security at the door was very rude. Rudely told us we could not enter the store without masks and we can buy one if we wanted to enter the store. Went back to our vehicle and got the masks. Went back into the store and said we now have masks on. He then mumbled something under his breath. We asked him what he said and he told us if we didnt want to wear a mask we should go to another store. Told management and the guy acted as if he didnt want to hear it. All I can say is that we will be doing our shopping at Home Depot and or Lowes.
Great place for building supplies. Lots of ideas. Extensive landscaping area with most of the things you would need for an outdoor project. Wood/lumber supply is much better than home Depot or Lowes. I like the fact that they care about the population and require masks during covid 19. I will come here more now because of that decision.
If you are a large company that is still in operation when all these mom and pop shops are out of business. SUPPLY the masks you REQUIRE instead of charging people. Most walk around with masks and we are already there to spend money, stop making more money when your store is required by the government to make people wear masks. My respect is lost for those trying to make money from this pandemic. Trust me, I’d rather be giving a smaller business my money than your multi million dollar company.Good news travels fast, bad news travels faster.
We couldnt get any one to help us get answers to bathroom tiles. My husband asked for help from 3 different employees. Their response was to see the person in that department. IF there was someone in the department do you think wed be here asking for your help. I will never be back. I was so mad about it.
Worst shopping experience I have ever had. Went in on a Tuesday to buy a washer at that point I was asked if I would be interested in a display model for a cost savings. I said no but when I went back to pick up the washer I was told that a display model was all they had. When I complained I was told at every level all the way up to general manager that there was nothing that could be done. The general manager tried to make it sound better by saying at least it was not a refurbished model of which they had one available.Got the washer home it would not drain when I called the store to see if they could be of any assistance all they could say was to bring it back and try buying a different model. When I did load it back up I started noticing things like scratches I knew we had not put on it, which could be an issue associated with display models. But there were multiple screws missing from the back plate suggesting that indeed mine was refurbished or serviced already. From beginning to end I feel like I was dealt with dishonestly, nearly as bad as a stereotypical used car lot. At this point I do not feel like I could purchase anything from them or any of their other locations even. I would find it hard to believe this approach of how to treat their customers just happens to be a single branch it would seem more likely as a corporate wide mentality.Staff was not knowledgeable while the managers, of which I spoke to four were all rude. Save yourself a lot of energy and the headache shop elsewhere.
Great store with quality products and prices ( with rebates). Although rebates must be spent at menards, which keeps you coming back. As long as you have a need for more of what they sell, no problem, otherwise I have never cared for this sort of rebate structure. Fortunately, I shop their frequently.Store is clean. The app is helpful and necessary in locating items in this massive store. Employees are helpful and pleasant.Cant wait for their new location a few miles from my house. This one is a 20-30 minute drive.
I do not do reviews but I am very upset with my experience on an order pick up. I sat waiting for my order at the pick up after checking in for 30 mins. Went back in talked to another person, waited another 30 mins only to see he had filled the order of the person next to me that had been there 15 mins. After an hour and 20 mins, a very nice 3rd employee took care of the issue and I had my 10 pieces of metal roofing and 4lbs of screws......... in store no complaints at all wonderful store. Order pick ups can’t say the same unfortunately. I do wish I had the 3rd employees name to give recognition where it is do.
Worst store Ive ever dealt with. Its taken over 3 months to order a standard size 7x16 garage door in sandstone. The only special item was color. First door damaged, second door also damaged. Third door wrong color, 4th door damaged, still waiting on the 5th door. They wont take responsibility for the damage and will always blame it on the manufacturer. Any compensation is a Menards gift card and who wants to go back after all this hassle. Wish I had gone somewhere else.
Once we found help in the carpet department, the staff was very helpful, answered all of our questions, let us know an estimate of when the carpet will be in, and helped load the pad into our truck. The front desk was also helpful with the rebate forms needed to go with our purchase!
Tend to view Menards as a cheaper Home Depot or Lowes, so I shop here. Not anymore though. The problem with having so much variety is the ability to find what youre looking for. After 3 years, still havent figured out the logic of the store layout, if there is one. If you need help finding something, employees are difficult to find. If you have to wait for something, grab a chair, it will be awhile. From now on, will go to one of the other stores listed. Prices may be higher (sometimes they are, sometimes they are not), but the store makes sense and help us easy to find.
Sales clerk, Danielle, was of great help to me in my search for one of the red bistro set of table and two chairs. Found it on the computer, then got a special cart for me, took it upstairs via their elevator, found the set, helped me load it up, and from start to finish had a smile on her face. Very pleasant young lady! Great personality and customer service skills. Shes a keeper! Good job, Menards! Ill definitely be back for future purchases! Al
We cant wait for a Menards to be built closer to us. Right now we drive past 2 Lowes and a Home Depot as well as a few smaller stores to go to this store! We love this place and the selection they have. Today we got doors, lighting, a sliding glass door, paint, trim, wood, drywall, electrical supplies, and quite a bit of small stuff and they gave us contractor pricing!! Plus we still get the rebates so we are going to save 31% on everything and a lot of it was on sale!! Super great buys today and everyday we go in there. We love this store and the sales staff!! These guys rock....!
Menards products selection reflects a large hardware store more than a building products supply center. They stock a great selection of pet and wild birds foods in addition to the standard home center stuff. The only downside is that they seem to be inconsistent with respect to available products - one time they have it, the next time maybe not.
The mandatory face mask policy has caused me to take my business elsewhere. The way its enforced at this particular store is like nothing ive ever seen before. You are greeted at the door by what looks like a large bouncer that you would see at a rough bar, who was covered in tattoos and wearing all black, rudely telling you that you need to wear a mask or buy one from them so they can make a profit off of their policy. Unbelievable.
They have everything but quick service. Purchased a fireplace, took a long time to get assistance to make sure it was in stock, cashier had issues checking us out and it took forever, then waited over 40minutes in the back for someone to get it for us. A half hour trip literally took 2 hours!
Its summer... so our to do list of house repairs grows with each day. Weve been to Lowes and Home Depot. But I have to say, Menards once again scores big time. Whether its keeping shelves well stocked, ease in finding help, qquality of their merchandise, or simply the feeling of well-being provided by their requirement that every person (staff and customer alike) while in their building must wear a mask, all of these scored high in my level of appreciation for Menards.
Return policy is horrible! Unlike lowes or home depot to do a return you have to go to a Keyosk and look thru all your purchases over the last several months which in my case took an hour to find one cheap item. Lady at thecustomer service desk super rude. They just want you to give up so you cant return your item. I spend thousands each year on home improvement and after learning about the return policy they wont be getting a dime of my money. SHOP AT LOWES OR HOME DEPOT MUCH BETTER
Asked multiple associates to help me find a flat bed cart because of the size of the objects I was trying to purchase. Received no help beside told to look down the isles. I finally found one by the garden department exit doors. Which you could exit but not get back in, so I asked the associate if I retrieved the cart if she would let me back in. She told me no i would have to to the other part of the store to exit and find one. Needless to say after 30 min of zero help I went to Home Depot.
I enjoy my experiences here because I typically purchase online and lick up in store. On the one occasion I did browse for an item I needed while already there, I had a difficult time finding it. Didnt seem to be much organization in the shelves. I also had a hard time finding someone to help me. The employee I finally got was short with me. Not rude but not polite. Ill continue to shop here but only online.
As a contractor I am very disappointed in Menards decision to require masks on their customers. In our mid sized Ohio town, they are the only ones requiring them. Im sure Lowes and Home Depot will be happy to get my business. We generally purchase $20,000 plus per month. I have instructed all of my employees to use other suppliers.
The customer service is terrible in the store. There are a few select people that I talk with as a contractor that will actually help you. I spent 45 in the store with my kids waiting to pick up a special order and was ignored by several people. Noone even acknowledged we were there. Two guys said it wasnt there department so they couldnt help. God forbid they couldnt even use there radios to find someone who could help. One guy finally did help the one guy in front of me and then walked away from me after knowing I needed help also. This store has been more interested in moving stock around than helping customers. If you have to get stuff from the lumberyard have fun finding help out there if you need it. Something needs to change
I was pleasantly surprised by the courteous and cheerful assistance I received almost immediately after I entered the store. The young lady was very nice and extremely helpful. She made me feel as if I was the only customer in the store. The young man who helped me to my car was very nice and such a gentleman. My total experience at the Menards Springboro Pike location was very delightful and very pleasant and I look forward to shopping there again very soon. Thanks to all who made my shopping experience at Menards a pleasant one.😄🤗😄🤗😄
Worst customer service ever!!! Was just here and they put the wrong vanity cabinet size in our cart. We checked out as they were closing and realized as we left the store and rushed to return it four mins after checkout. There were still people inside walking out as my husband rushed to the door. They refused to take it back that night. Mind you we will live 45 mins away and this is inventory for a flip home. We will never buy anything from there again. Home Depot and Lowe’s do much better and will be getting our business.
I bought their 6x8 Dogear fence panels (SKU 1731145). I should have looked at them closer before buying. They were a nightmare to install. the lengths were not consistent. Had to trim the length on some to get them down to 8 ft. Some boards were missing nails. Some of them had plenty of extra nails. I should have paid the few extra dollars a panel and got them from Home Depot of Lowes.
Its a big store! Lots of stuff. Just dont trust the information on the website to be accurate. Went out of our way cause it showed this store had 20 in stock. Got there and they had 1.Ran around looking for an employee to help us, finally tracked one down. She looked for awhile, checked on the computer. She said they dont really count them like they should we ended up buying the more expensive one. ($25 vs $13 each)Menards needs to have locations on their website to help us find what we are looking for, keep inventory updated and accurate, and having more knowledgeable employees in departments that are in the department.Just have to roam the entire store till you find someone stocking shelves to ask.I will shop here again, but I will shop lowes first
I don’t ask for much but the service in the lumber yard is filled with lazy workers. I buy a lot of stuff from this store and never receive the help that I should on getting my materials. They stand and watch as you load your stuff on the truck and never offer to help. Three guys watched my girlfriend sort threw wood and never lifted a finger. Today I came to get 450 feet of chain link fencing. They told me to pull around and someone would come. I set there for it least a half an hour before I had to call the store to remind them that I was back here. Now I’m still waiting. I think I may just get my supply’s elsewhere from now on since they don’t appreciate my business!!
Purchased materials for a barn. Used the on line design center. It was a bit frustrating. But I eventually got a design. Selected a builder. We went to the store to purchase the materials the took 4 hours. The design center does not talk to the purchasing software. Delivery was several weeks late. Barn stared going up weather was great. But when the contractor started to hang the steel siding he noticed some damage. The steel had to be reordered was delivered 11beautiful days later. The delay screwed up my contractors and his subs schedule the weather got worse needless to say the contract and subs rushed the finish of the job six weeks. Quality controls and materials delivery seem to be a problemTwice the contract told me hardware that was supposed to be on site and it wasnt.
Bought two sets of jack stands that with the 11% discount will match the Harbor Freight sale price. The employee in the electric isle did know what he was talking about which was a nice surprise. Im rating a 4 because if you want lumbar, pavers or concrete etc, you still have to drive through checkpoint Alpha and Bravo.
They are a joke! Mask is mandatory but wait... if you don’t have one: you can buy one for a dollar :)). So they consider themselves a venue or concert or something to ask for an entry fee!If you are so strict with covid health regulations why don’t you hand out maybe those masks... yes the ones you take off the shelves and sell them one by one... or maybe refill your mask shelves so a contractor can buy some dust masks for work, not for the media. Not even starting with the under 16 yrs old policy. HUGE JOKE!I will for sure never shop at this store again
I went there to buy cedar mulch. There were no flat carts anywhere to be found. I asked 4 different employees for assistance, and they just kept telling me if they arent in the back they dont have any. I stood in line thinking I could buy it at the register and drive around to pick it up. I was told I had to have a picking ticket, so I left empty handed. At Lowes, you can buy mulch at the register and drive around to pick it up. They even load it for you. Guess Ill be going to Lowes from now on.
Guy at the main entrance said its MANDATORY that I wore a mask when Ohio law says that it is recommend and didnt direct me to the counter next to him to get one but when I figured it out that they have some they want to charge me for them. Not only that but I walked by with it around my neck to get air due to medical issues and started to harass me and get VERY inappropriate with me like he was gonna take action. Not to mention all the other people and employees walking around with them off or half way on.
We always find what we are looking for and the prices are decent. However, the one thing that bothers me about this store is that the employees seem to busy to help the customers, or if you should ask for assistance, they seem bothered that they have to help you. I would love to give them more stars, because I really do like the store.
Huge variety, although be prepared to do some walking to get to what you want. I actually work at ACE, but there are some things you can only get at a big box store and Menards is my recommendation due to their huge stock and frequent 11 and 17% off sales. But if you need something fast, ACE is the place - AND - at least in our store, someone always ready to help you find it or who has experience in home repair and maintenance.
The manager is incompetent, and the employees are high school kids that know literally nothing about home improvement.Recently theyve decided to add a store policy that discriminates against disabled people, by forcing them to comply with absurd anti scientific mandates.
I paid for a delivery online from the store, it advised me someone would contact me from the store within 24 hours. Not even 10 minutes gone by and I received a phone call from this woman, Amber who says she was with Menards deliveries. She was such a help she went over everything perfectly. We set up the delivery date it worked for me I wasnt a big fan of the times 7-12 and 12-6 its a big stretch of time. She told me she would call me when the driver was on his way. A day later I received a call from Amber once again. One of the items I purchased was a display, she gave me 2 choices either I would have to pick a different style cause the one I wanted was discountuied and no other store but them has one or I can have the display. She told me she looked over the display and seen a small scratch on the side and told me she would still get it. She asked for my email and sent me a picture of it and it was just a hairline scratch so I was OK with it. All the communication with her has been amazing. She call me the day of my delivery to tell me her driver will be there in 30 minutes. I have never had any good experiences with menards till this. She was spectacular with her job and her professionalism. She does not belong with Menards at all she can do so much better with her skills.
Cabinets and countertops... Bob was the only guy working this Dept. It was a wait to have his assistance but he was worth the wait. Bob took all the time we needed and was knowledgeable. Look for Bob. Pricing was more expensive then buying true granite...? Dont know how that worked. Long wait, higher pricing and other staff not knowing their stuff deserves 3 stars.
Drove 1-1/2 hours to pick up a washer and dryer. When I got there they had just sold the one I had held. Had to drive to another store an hour away and waited 1-1/2 move for them to find it and put it on my truck. The manager of these Menards havent a clue whats going on in their own stores. What a waste of time!
I like Menards and shop there a lot.... My only complaint and what i totally hate is there rebates. Who does these anymore? Its a huge waste of time and inconvenient for the customers. Instead of offering savings at the counter you have to fill out a card, give up your only receipt, buy a stamp and mail it out and then wait for god only knows how long for your refund.... Its a scam! This way the company can advertise a huge sale, draw you in thinking your gonna save, then present you with a rebate, knowing good and well that a large percentage of there customers will not follow through cause its a huge hastle... And for that reason i give them two stars
Generally speaking Menards is great, today however, was not the best experience. The garden center entrance was closed as was half its floor space and its merchandise scattered outdoors. I eventually found potting soil, but not the brand I wanted, and the employees were disinterested. I guess they are getting ready for Black Friday.
I showed up at about 2:00 and didnt get out till 4:30. Charged for skidds that wouldnt even fit in my 16 trailer. It was only 14 pieces of metal why put it on a 20 skid? So we had to unload the skids by hand into my trailer because there was stuff on the ground in the way. It was definitely not a good experience. The only thing good was the guy that helped me load my stuff.
Worst customer service ever , tried to talk to a manager on the phone and was left on hold for over 20 minutes and no one ever picked up . When I went in to the store and asked for a manager I waited another 15 minutes and no one ever showed up. I made an online order that said everything was in stock and would be ready for pick up . Low and behold they only had 2 of my 3 items and said the other one was on back order and that I would have to wait and come back when the 3rd item came in . If you plan on ordering on line you better call to confirm that everything is in stock even if the web site says it is .
5 trillion+ in new debt and this store is helping promote unbased fear. Dont do business with any business actively working to destroy our economy. If this continues we are looking at another 6-10 trillion in debt. This company promotes fear and the collapse of the us dollar. What do you think happens if we double our national debr in less than a year? People may get their $15 an hour but it will be worth the same $7 they are getting now, but thats the onpy way to get ppl off the unemployment bonus now.Going along to get along is not acceptable. Masks are not required to be open. This is a company policy that is wrong periodEverything about corona is easily debunked when you read the facts and numbers the news bases their propaganda on
The layout of the store makes no sense whatsoever. Related items may be completely across the store from each other (for example, plumbing items seemed to be scattered across the entire store). Aisle numbers dont even make sense (for example, aisle 37 is nowhere near aisles 36 and 38).By the time I found the areas where the items I was looking for should be, I found that they werent even carried.Giving two stars because the staff was at least helpful. One guy called up another department and wandered the store with me trying to help me find one of the items that was ultimately not carried by the store.
Ordered $1800.00 of material that WAS in stock the day of purchase, scheduled delivery for a week later...got a call day of delivery to inform me that at least $1000 of the order wasn’t available, but the rest would be here by 10:00, 11:30 now, STILL no delivery, no call as to why, Menards is VERY lax & unprofessional once they have your money in hand & bad for a person trying to operate a business, find yourselves a more RELIABLE company tho partner with, Menards will cause you to be run out of business due to their unpredictability!!
Just no comparison on the lumber. Huge selection of building materials. The others sell warped and cracking wood, not much better than kindling. Huge minus, their tools were made in the USA and now they are made in China. Sometimes the help is inexperienced too. Five star on having what you need.
I dont know if all Menards are run this way, understaffed, poor management, poor inventory management, not very customer centered. I have been to this store 4 times and EVERY time I leave Im either frustrated to very upset. Unfortunately I started a large project with a specific material only carried by Menards, so Im stuck with them until this project is over. No one on the floor who can answer a question, no one in the yard to help you load, non responsive managers (I waited for 15 min to talk with a manager, but he never showed up, probably dealing with another upset customer.) I expected a slight discount on a product because they didnt have what I needed (they told me they let the stock on items get to zero before they will re-stock) The department manager just said Sorry I asked if there was anything he could do to help as I drove a long way, Nope was the only reply! I cant wait to get this project finished, then I wont have to deal with the incompetence of this store.
I waited for 15 minutes after asking for help to get a wall AC unit down off the shelf that was over 8ft tall to buy. They’re usually pretty heavy. There’s plenty of people working to talk to each other but no one to help me get something down to buy it. I didn’t want help into my car or anything like that. I just wanted someone to get it off the shelf that someone needed a ladder for. No one even tried, so I left. Sorry I inconvenienced you, I was only trying to hand you $200.When you only exist to make money and you roll your eyes to even to do that, there’s something wrong.
Went to Mennards today. There was a bouncer at the entrance telling us we had to wear a mask. We and another gentleman left the store. We will not be back. It is our prerogative to make the decision to wear a mask or not. No evidence that a mask protects you or anyone around you. And just think about all the germs you keep breathing back into your system from that nasty mask you keep putting back on.
I like menards selections..But i recently purchsed 2k in wood materials..and when i needed some assitance or direction of a certain lengths the kids working in their were no help, didnt want to help an said i dont know man ur on ur own im busy..i had everything i could do not to string him in the rafters....Menards get some real personable /helpfull people in the wood barn..
Went to the Miamisburg store to buy an interior door and the experience was terrible. Could not get any help picking the product, no bar code on the one i picked so i had to wait. Then get home and the door is the wrong size. The manager i spoke to was not helpful and really did not have the experience to deal with a management situation.
Paid for tile and when contractor went to get it they did not have it all. Told contract to go to Hamilton store to get what was paid for. We had to pay our contractors (2 guys) while Dante tried to sort it out. In the meantime I had to go to Tipp City to get two boxes to meet our needs. We had to drive to Hamilton (33 miles) to get the tile we had paid for. When we got there they knew nothing about it. Dante had only called the store to see if they had it. He should have sent an email to tell them they were going to do an “inter company” sale to get our credit transferred. We had to wait for that.Inventory control must be the root cause of the problem. However, to make me pay my contractors to wait on their inefficiency just infuriates me. Who do you talk to? Tomorrow I will request a meeting with the store manager!
Purchased drywall at the desk and drove to back to get it. The top ones were broken and covered in dog poop. Took 10 minutes to find help because the workers were all in a group chatting. Finally my mother in law got us some help and the guy had us move the to layers and he put the sheets we needed on the fork lift. Another worker walked up and started complaining. He said very loudly ugh! They could have just put this on a cart. They were very ride in general, but that just took the cake.Ill go somewhere else.
I have been an advocate for Menards as a small buisness owner taking money from me to wear a mask while people in health care need them!!!!!!! I am also a first responder and this was a total disgrace on Menards part!! I will never stop nor refer Menards ever again total disgrace.
We almost always enjoy shopping at Menards and your store people are mostly fine but our last shopping experience was quite poor. I am talking about the people working in the back warehouse who not only did not greet us, they were rather rude. Two workers were chatting while I stood there for 5-6 minutes. When I asked can you help me one said we are both busy. Then one of them without asking just reached for the document in my hand and started walking out of the warehouse at which point I didnt know if I was to follow him so I asked should I go with you? He raised hand motioning me to follow. Your people need a lot of Customer Service training and heart searching because the problem seems to be with your management. I would never tolerate this in my own business.
Waited at counter 10 min, woman walks up say she’s only one here so it will be a while.... I asked how long? She shrugged shoulders. Got to me asked if I wanted warrantty told her yes but after 10 more minutes watching her try to figure it out declined. Pulled in back, gate guard told me door 10, there isn’t one. After 15 minutes looking walked to be greeted rudely.theres more but I’m busy

2022-05-17Great selection, polite friendly customer service. Everyone else was out or had plants that were almost dead and Menards by the Dayton Mall had a huge selection with great looking plants. I have also bought AC filters , lumber and solar lights here. All are better selection than Lowes and Home Depot

2022-04-02The people were friendly and the prices were decent. We was looking for counter tops for the kitchen and we couldnt find anyone to help us. Other than that I would have given them 5 stars.

2019-03-26I am a big fan of Menards. They are competitive to Lowes and Home Depot in price. Their wood selection cannot be beat. They do have a weird mix of a food selection. I have found hard to find building material items here.

2018-09-30First time at a Menards and we really liked the wide variety of merchandise. We designed a pole barn there with the excellent help of the employees on everything. OK 6 months later. Picking up, exchanging and ordering door/Windows. Customer service and the returning of things in the lumber yard is Horrible. And this is over a 6 month period of time and over a dozen experience. If you Need assistance your going to have to Hunt employees down and they will redirect you to somewhere else thats will be wrong and then your stuck looking again for help. 9-28-2018 3hrs to return 2 sheets of metal siding..

2022-02-26Purchased 1/2 x 3-1/4 x 12 Prefinished White MDF Colonial Base Moulding - PROPACK of 10 online. Received email to pick it up at Miami Township location. Went around back and was told I could go in the store to get it and put it in the truck. Ok.... went into the store to find it was not in stock. The trim in the bin was 9/16. Told the associate and he walked with me to go look. Yes, he agreed that someone missed reading the stock label for this trim. He found the trim at the Fairborn, OH store and said I could go there and get it. Off we went. Got there and the guy would not let us into the rear pick up area. Had to go in the store to the front desk first. They found my order but did not know how to make it appear at this store for pick up. 30 minutes later it was ready. Went around back again and this time got in. We loaded up and took it home. Once I got home I discovered there was a huge black mark on one of the pre-painted pieces in the middle of the bundle! Called the store and asked to exchange that piece. They said no, it was part of the pro pack and they were not able to exchange 1 piece from it. I give up. Last time I am going to this place. Serious lack of customer service at this location. Avoid it at all possible.
