A lot of options, but Ive felt uncomfortable every time Ive placed an order for curbside pick up. A very angry looking man guards the exit and demands to open the trunk to make sure customers arent stealing anything. If this company does not trust me enough to let me place and pick up orders without dealing with this angry man guarding the gate, I do not trust this company enough to give it my business.
***Attention*** Menards is going to be worse and worse customer service to return the items, really feel bad. I bought some self rack 30 min ago but got I bought wrong size an i too there to exchange they said can’t return, I talked to one of the manager name “Britton” he said he can’t, what is going on with Menards now a days, they killed almost 2 hrs my time took so Guys Avoid to buy from them if you can..
Always check sku. Heat gun advertised for 19.77 and 21.79. I took the 19.77 because it was the same. It rang up 21.79 I brought it to their attention. They removed the cheaper tag before I could grt back there to show them. Luckily I had pictures already. Always check skus. Menard is ripping people off.
Ive always had great experience with Menards. I used to live by the one up on Morse, but its been years since Ive been able to get up there. Tonight, I went to the one on E Broad, because I needed some things for my new apartment. The staff here did NOT disappoint! They were incredibly helpful, and the store is so clean and tidy! Definitely enjoyed going there tonight to shop, and will FOR SURE come back again very soon.
Menards is quickly turning into the go to place for homeowners and contractors for construction, renovation, and do-it-yourself projects. Everything from lumber, kitchens and appliances, hardware, and paint (and a lot of everything else) are available - and affordable to boot. Ad to that there is a mini grocery store that carries brand names and unique items, which makes shopping fun. You really should try this store. My only other comment is that the depth of grocery products isnt very very deep, and their garden items can be more expensive than their competition.
Menards has a huge variety to choose from for just about everything. A lot of times if I cant find it anywhere else, usually Menards has it. I especially like the Bosch brand. At least the tools i have are well balanced, built and durable. One of my favorite man stores.
Again Menards is incredibly disappointing regarding friendliness and service dog latitude. I absolutely hate having to go to Menards because of how inflexible they are. Lowes is absolutely the best when it comes to training service dogs. Menards gets an F every time every location I go to. Todays visit was extraordinarily bad.
Never ever will I shop at a Menards for a special order. I placed an order in April and didnt receive it until June. They waaaay over estimated materials I needed when I brought my measurements to them from a professional. They are going by April purchase date and NOT when I had the actual order in hand and wont give me my money back. Store credit only......and its a lot. $500 Im out because of their terrible customer service.
Over the last year my husband and I have shopped at the Reynoldburg location as new homeowners (many visits). Tonight was one of the first times an associate helped me. Tim, made a genuine effort to help, knew exactly what to get and found my tile in a few minutes. I worked in customer service for many years and I know that many get burnt out, but he was a great kid and seemed to have a good work ethic. This really made a big impression on me, as I typically dont write reviews. Well done Tim!
Moved to Reynoldsburg almost a year ago, and was excited to have a Menards within a few minutes drive. Have been here at least once a week, if not more, to get various item for renovating a home. The quality of the items themselves is fine. The price can be questionable, so be sure you research other big box stores before making purchases. The reason for my 1 star: The service is at times acceptable, but others it is pretty bad. When you actually need assistance, its like a signal goes out and every worker scatters into the shadows. Ive had several instances when I needed assistance, and have to walk around the store 2 or 3 times before actually finding someone. Then they have to call someone else, then I have to go back to my original location and wait 5-10 minutes before someone shows up.Or I need someone to simply check the stores inventory because the website says an item is in stock but its not on the shelf. How irritating it is for them to pull out their phone and use the same app I was just using to say but it says its in stock. I know, I checked, but its not on the shelf, so why do you think Im talking to you? The store has an inventory system is more detailed in how many items are in stock and where exactly in the store theyre located. The most recent interaction Ive had is the very reason Im actually leaving a review at all and the reason Ill NEVER be returning to a Menards. I spent over an hour and half wandering around trying to find items that should have been in one spot, but the site says theyre in two spots, lets call them A & B. In reality, they were in spots A & C, they were never in spot B to begin with. Spot C (the stockyard) never shows on the sites map, so that itself is pretty frustrating. Then when I finally get to spot C, the item is NOT in stock. I had yet another employee state but the site says its in stock. So I just gave up, and said I would be back to get the item. Told the guy at the stockyard exit who scanned my paper that the item wasnt in stock and that I would have to return. I returned a week later, the item appeared to be in stock but on a shelf way out of my reach. So I found an employee who told me he was helping someone else but would send someone over to help. I waited 10 minutes, and no one ever showed up. So I gave up, again. I told the guy at the exit same as before that the item wasnt in stock and I would have to return, and left.I show up yesterday to try, again, to get the item. The gate wont open. So I push the call for help button and give my order number. The lady says the item was picked up on the date I was last there, and I tell her it wasnt that I most definitely havent picked up this item. But she refused to let me in, told me I would have to go all the way around the store to customer service. By the time I get to customer service, Im pretty upset. Ive spent WAY too much time just trying to get these items together. But the lady who helped me was understanding and refunded the item.As stated before, I will NEVER shop at Menards again.
Not a good visit. Only 2 registers open and about 8 customers in each line. When they finally opened another register, she just hollored which one opened and all the people in the back of the line moved over. A good business would have asked the people next in line to go first.
I was send to one end of store back to another then.back to back of store to order mulch. Back to front to pay. That done, had to drive around the block to get that mulch. Was told some was waiting to put in car 25min later Iwent inside to tell them only to be told he is out there waiting .He is not !!!! Again after30 min .again I returnedInside only to be told he was out there . He was not ! I had an appointment at1pm and was at theYour store at 11:30 had to leave with anyone putting or coming around to put my mulch in car .Worst service ever !!!!!! I would appreciate a response to this comment. I still have to make another trip in the hope that someone will be working!
Busy place. Love the rebates. Lots of inventory. Well trained cashiers. Help is a little scarce. Suggest you come here well prepared for what you want to buy. Most shoppers are considerate of others. Have to watch out for contractors who are on the clock. Some trucks move too fast in the parking lot. Prices are good.
Staff were very rude and I’m not one to complain. I asked multiple times regarding range hoods and the lady in the area was much less than helpful as she sat in her chair using her cell phone. Approached her 3 times and was given the same very POOR customer service each time. Other than that it’s a cool store. But it’s big with few employees to be found so I’d think the ones who are out and about could be much much more helpful and pleasant.
I confess, I am not a fan of Menards. I think they are just a big building with lots of second rate stuff they sell at average prices and claim to be a discounter. In most visits Ive made to one of their stores, I went only because my wife insisted we go there to see if they had what we were looking for; usually they did not, or the quality was not to our liking or acceptance. My experience of the employees was also not favorable as they seemed, at best, bored and there to get a paycheck. This recent visit was not at all like that! There was someone there to assist us and answer questions and they were friendly as well as helpful. The gal at the checkout was as well. The products we looked at as well as what we purchased -- yep, we actually bought something this time -- were well within our level of quality. What a refreshing change. The store still looks like a relatively ordered warehouse, but everything thing else seemed so much better than before. I can live with the looks of the place, and I am happy to see a big improvement in the merchandise quality; at least the several items we shopped for. I will be going back to Menards. I like what I experienced this last visit and they deserve a second chance with me.
I ordered product online for pick up. The store staff was curious and helpful no complaints there but, I do have a problem with paying a extra $1.50 for handling when it is within the store Im buying it from (Also, the box was kinda beaten and torn but, thankfully no damage to the contents). I have bought items from Home Depot and had it shipped to the store of my choice without any extra charges.
First in price and second in service.Lowes has better service help with advice for the DIY but top on their prices. If you know what you are doing the products are also at Menards and youre going to save 10-20 percent most of the time.Ive rebuilt 8 dumps into the nicest homes on the block 8 times.Menards is my favorite.
The large selection of many items at brick and mortar Menards stores cannot be beat!! The cashiers are typically very friendly. Sometimes finding a knowledgeable or helpful floor person can be a challenge in certain departments (but that seems to be everywhere nowadays). I enjoy in person shopping at Menards.
Absolutely love the availability of product in the store. However floor staff is clueless and even worse if you have to pick something up in the back they will not help to load for anyone. Im guessing anyone with a disability does not shop at this store. Home depot and lowes has much better staff knowledge on the floor and with pick up.
Definitely SAVE BIG MONEY. People are nice and eager to help. I had a hard time getting eroding supplies, it was the one area of the store where I found it much more difficult to get help. I said “I’m not sure what I need...” [cue helpful tips from employee] their response was “tell us when you are ready.” 4 guys standing behind a counter not one willing to “come out and help”. Went back to joking around. I have this 5 stars though because in every other manner I’m the store was clean, well stocked, so much to choose from, and prices are great. The only other hiccup is when I went to pick up shingles/supplies there was NO DIRECTION on where to go to pick them up or that it was self-service. So I wandered around and a very helpful employee explained “how things work.” Super helpful but again please dont assume that we’ve all “been here before and know what to do.” Worth the 30 minute drive for sure!
I will never shop at this store again .My wife is deaf but can read lips went to the end of the garden center to talk to her pulled my mask down cashier walking around and yells mask are required tried to explain this but she hurried off and brought back the manager that needs to learn how to talk to customers instead of being such a smart butt.Told me put your mask on its the store policy mind you no one was in the garden center tried to explain to him why the mask was down he looked at me and said mask on or leave that`s the way its going to be.I will never spend another dollar in this store .
Spent 5000 on a deck They told me everything was in stock except for two pages of small things basically the stairs and a few fasteners Turns out they had next to nothing but they sold me I had to keep picking it up In small batches they zeroed out the order before I picked everything up. The daytime manager is basically useless the nighttime manager helped out quite a bit. Best off to go to another Menards.
Super helpful employees, spent 2 hours helping me set up everything I needed to build a floor for my new shed. I always go to Menards because they are always so helpful. I can never find that level of help at any other home improvement store, their always busy stocking or ignoring you. Thanks Menards 👍.
I initially went to lowes for locks for my new house! They were 100% no help!! I then went menards. They had what I needed. Then I had to get my locks re keyed so they all matched! Paul, Conor, and Jeremy were more than helpful. I could of asked for better customer service from those. Ill be using Menards for the rest of my home renovation needs!! Thanks guys!
Crowded, narrow Lanes for Social Distancing/or even passing. Last few times Ive been in , they did not have the items I needed. Best thing they have is the 11% rebate, I purchased 26sq roofing material & got the rebate over a year ago and still have not been able to spend the instore credit. Not due to needing Oddities because I can go to Lowes or HD and find what Im looking for.
It was a good experience mostly. They require masks and wont let you enter without one. First place Ive been to that requires it. I wear one, but also likey right to choose. I did ask for help finding an item and the lady was great til she saw a shopper without a mask and then abruptly disappeared to tell a mgr about it. So I had to find my item by myself. Its different times though so all in all I enjoyed my shopping for gatdening items and will go back.
Not one person ask could they help the lady in kitchens walk past me 3x and I finally asked her for help she was not much help she told me what I was looking foe was upstairs as if I knew what was was I. All those boxes up there she didnt come upstairs with me. Was not helpful at all her associate that work with her xame over when I couldnt find what I wanted came over and said something to lady that that was helping and laid her head on counter nest to her arm wow very unprofessional. Then she blew me off by sending me up near far left corner of store to shelving. She knew I wanted kitchem shelving I was inconvienceing her was awful. I decided to call her boss i heard her tell someone on the phone that the boss would be in tomorrow and she take her number she couldnt help the lady on the phone either. A mess.
Went here today, stopped at front saying they requiring a face mask witch okay thats fine, they told me to go to front desk to get one! When getting there the lady said 3 okay then rang them up, so not only does this violate my will to be free of what I choose to do but also will charge me to be a customer shopping in the store, I will not pay for a face mask that you require, you lost my business and today I went there to redo my whole kitchen right down to new appliances and to get bathroom doors for my shower and a garage door! I will take my business to Lowes
Great experience. Sales person, He said his name was Douglas. I could tell he was busy doing something else but he stopped to help a lost customer find what I needed. He was very professional with a positive attitude. I hope your manager or supervisor see this post. Thanks again Douglas.
Great selection of quality and cheaper merchandise. The thing that makes this store shine more than anything, in my opinion, is the customer service! you are never too far from being able to find an associate that can usually answer any questions you have or is willing to find out for you. Unfortunately, I cant say the same regarding my most recent experiences at Lowes. Great store, but at times the customer service is lacking.
DO NOT EVER ORDER CABINRTS FROM THIS LOCATION. After spending 8 hours at the broad street location trying to pick up my cabinet order that was supposed to have arrived, I ran over to Morse road location and Jeffrey brought me to the cabinets I needed immediately, I purchased them, he loaded them up and had me out the door in ten minutes! Incredible!! Thank you so MUCH Jeffry @Morse rd!!! Now I just need to figure out how to make returns at broad street without ever receiving the products that were supppsed to be here last week, what an absolute disaster that stores kitchen department is 🤣 Wasting $4,500 on non existing cabinets is a complete joke. And I hope I get my refunds eventually.(Andrea in order pickup was great though!! Almost enough to make up for the terrible kitchen department) what a joke
Good selection in vast layout. Clean. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Many, many items are a good deal, but some overpriced items offered. Free parking lot. Handicap accessible parking, doors, aisles and restrooms. A fine Home Improvement store. Accepts all major credit cards, debit cards and cash. Frequent sales. Convenient East Broad Street location with traffic-light control.
I love this store, however they currently want to require you to wear a mask, which is not really my issue.....they want you to purchase it. Im walking in to spend well over $1000 today for a company I work for.....not even for myself..... and you want me to buy a mask? What great customer service. I wonder how much money theyre making off of this pandemic. Not cool menards....
Worst experience ever! Staff knowledge minimal on whats in stock..zero communication when back ordered merchandise arrived..picking up merchandise in back was too time consuming and security was uncaring and repeatedly stated they are not employed by Menards..advice.. spend the extra dollars and go to lowes or home depot..
If I could give a negative star I would. employees rude, with one exception, items shown in stock online not actually in stock when you get there. as if they never had them to begin with. and then when you purchase items and discover that you have been price gouged, they will want to fight you feverishly for a return at their front desk. There are apparently no managers in the place because they cannot produce one, not even when there are 100s of dollars on the line. Take your business somewhere you do not have to battle the employees, that actually know how to provide customer service. Somewhere like Lowes.
Great selection, great prices and great staff. Menards consistently out performs the competition. Not only do they have a better selection of items, but typically the prices are lower and they have staff that are very helpful and knowledgeable. This is one of the few places I shop that still has competent staff that are knowledgeable about the items they sell and can actually help you find what you need and provide quality advice for any job or project youre working on.
Very unorganized business. Ordered deck boards online and it said only 8 were available (I needed 12). Arrived on yard and was told to find them because guard had no clue where things are. Asked one of the employees who said they were all out. Looked around on my own and found that they had well over 20 left so I picked up all 12 and paid for the other 4 separately. At lowes, if I order online, they have everything waiting for me. Not sure why menards cant do the same. Needed other items and every employee I asked said they did not know where they were and to ask someone else 🙄
I’ve been shopping here for 5 years now. Lumber quality is on point compared to Lowe’s or Home Depot. Not to mention, Menards as a whole has more options in terms of lumber species, especially hardwoods. I don’t know his name, but the older gentleman in the plumbing department know his stuff when it comes to that particular field.
I have been supporting this location since they opened. I am a professional carpenter and often times have my daughter (16) helping me get materials. Three days ago she was refused entry by a security guard unless she could share her identification card (which includes her name, birth date and address). Maybe I am overly protective but I found this to be invasive. I will be taking my business up the street to Lowes
We just bought a houseful of interior doors. Spent time at the counter back by the doors to order the doors. Sent to the counter for delivery only to find out we had to go over to the checkout and pay for the doors, then return to the delivery counter to schedule delivery, then go back to the checkout line to pay for the delivery. It seems like a lot of bouncing us around for one transaction. All of this couldnt be handled at one counter? Two different counters and two separate trips to the checkouts?
I place an order for over $4k worth of fencing back on April 21st to be delivered on May 11th. They charged my visa the same day so I assume everything is good. I call on the May 11 just before lunch because I hadnt heard anything. I was told by the person on the phone from the store it was to be delivered from (E. Broad St, Columbus Ohio) that my order was still being delivered that day. A little after 4 pm they call and tell me that the delivery of my order will need to be delayed a few weeks (couldnt tell me exactly when it would actually be delivered) because they dont have everything in stock. When I placed the order it was all listed as in stock at that location. I actually paid more to have it delivered from that store since it was the only one that had everything I needed listed as in stock. I had contractors coming to complete the work on the 12th so now Im screwed. First and last time I order from Menards. To top it off I said I couldnt wait a few weeks so please cancel my order and the guys said he would, then he actually called back a second time to see if I wanted the whole order cancelled or just the delivery? Why would I cancel just the delivery? Worst part is they still havent refunded me my purchase, funny how they charged be within minutes of my order but the refund seems to be taking awhile. If it isnt refunded by the morning Im filling dispute with my credit card company.
Salesperson ordered a bed frame that was too tall for mattress and box spring that we bought in the store. The store manager refused to allow the return of the bed frame because we had opened the box. Of course we opened the box. How else would we have known that it was too tall? Not until after I loudly explained that Ive never had any trouble returning products to Lowes or Home Depot did she finally honor the return. This was also minus a 25% re-stocking fee. I understand that they have a rules about returning Special Orders, but this was a mistake that their salesman made and at no time did he explain that this was a Special Order. I will not be shopping at Menards again.
Bought 2 outdoor chairs in May for almost $400. A piece 1 of the chairs fell apart went to replace because of a year warranty on it and it is no longer available so was told to get ahold of manufacturer and ask for the part to be sent to me that was broke. I bought the chair because of warranty I am upset. To top off the trip there I was going to buy patio pavers so took pic of the 1 I wanted and went to register. Was told I needed to go to an employee in the garden center and have them write up ticket I left everything I was going to buy on register and went to lowes. Very disappointed.
Warning! When returning an order from the internet at Menards, they charge u a 25% restocking fee that is buried in their big return policy, and not clearly stated during the checkout process. We ordered an exterior window and when it came in, it looked nothing like the picture. We went to return it and they wanted a 27$ fee stating that it was special order.Told them that we actually need to special order a window instead and that this one doesnt match the picture online and that we just simply placed an online order. We went back and fourth and after they admitted that it wasnt exactly a special order item, and that they could help us place a special order. They refused to help us out.Menards, if you consider placing an order on your website that you dont have in the store, a special order then, put a disclaimer on the webpage page. IN BOLD TYPE. No one else has a poor internet shopping experience like this. Well never be back.
I was looking for an item called colorful fire, it turns the fire into rainbow colors, less than $2 for 1 bag. Not only did the gentleman grab a ladder, search high and low, he got ahold of his manager to see if they were somewhere else in the store. Four different employees were searching for this item and checking the inventory to see when the next shipment would be in, when the last one sold and how many were in stock at other locations. Ive never had such amazing customer service, especially over a $2 item!! Fyi Ive worked in retail my entire life and rarely see this, way to go Menards!! This was the E. Broad street location in Reynoldsburg/Whitehall!! My husband and I cant remember any names unfortunately but they know who they are!! Thanks so much, you are appreciated!!
They require facemasks to get in but only 2 registers in the entire store open to make everyone stand in line together not socially distancing but the will sell u a mask for $.88 to buy something in there store!Great selection, by far sub par customer service. The customer service desk had no idea what they are doing. The department managers are lucky to know what they have in stock. The only company that I know of that charges $1.40 to order online then if any of the items are returned, even though they are stock store items, they charge a 10% restocking fee.
Customer service woman that was working was very rude when I asked a simple question. She then sent me to the rebate center desk where I spoke with 2 ladies who were incredibly rude to me today also. Menards might want to move some peoples positions and put nicer people in customer service! I think I will be going to the Morse road menards from now on
A fine hardware store with a massive and diverse selection. I really do mean diverse; this store has everything. Thats the best thing this has going for it along with its nice location. My main issue is they have a lot of checkout lanes but usually most are not being used. It can take a while to get out sometimes when it really shouldnt. I hope they schedule more people to work the checkout lanes.
There was an employee named Jennifer at the rental department that was rude. With myself working in customer service for over 20yrs and 60yrs old i felt belittled. She should not be greeting people expecially at 9am in the morning to much caffeine or hangover. Her tone not because of face mask and body language told me i was going to have problems with her then when i asked for a manager it was like sheprepped and must was told about the situation i was having with and she was defending like i was doing something wrong and when i explaining jennifer kept jumping in the conversation that was rude i kept my composure i should have kept my instincts and not gone there because of other bad reviews. To much to talk about with this girl i have reached out to corporate
This rating applies to the garden dept. I went to this location yesterday looking for fall items because they have good prices compared to other stores in the area. What a waste of a trip. All their mums were dead. They had quite a few too. Most other plants were dead also. If you dont want to sell things in the fall, why do you buy stock and not take care of it. Dont you have someone that takes care of the garden dept? What a waste and poor work ethic on the part of the store manager.
I purchased two stock formica countertops and when I asked where the standard end caps to match were located, I was told they are special order items. I order the end caps and waited for the delivery. When the items arrived, they did not fit the stock countertops. After forty minutes of waiting for returns and managers, I was required to pay additional special order shipping. When I asked if I could speak to someone about my concern, I was to I could speak to customer service. When I contacted customer service, a message stated customer service does not speak to customers and to submit my concerns in writing and to include all documentation. Clearly, this process is designed to discourage customers from attempting to resolve a problem.
This is a wonderful place to shop. They have almost everything you need. Their prices are always much better than the others and the quality is excellent. The employees know about almost everything available in the store. They are very helpful. Its always service with a smile. If theyre not busy, they will have a good chat with you as well.
Horrible customer service and over priced low end products. As a maintenance man who works in the area we spend hundreds of dollars daily here but no longer. These people cant be bothered with questions or assessing poor product placement. Needed help and was turned away multiple times. Ill take my business to Lowes down the street from now on and I urge anyone reading this to do so as well.
EVERY SINGLE TIME I need home improvement items I come Menards! However, as of now I will sadly will NOT be back...due to your requirements of wearing a mask to enter and not allowing children under 16. I know you will lose much business over this poor decision. Maybe you as a company have plenty of money and probably dont care. But after this antic of yours, youve lost a very loyal and sad customer.
I went in to this store around 1:00 Tuesday, I gathered almost everything I needed but couldn’t find Plexaglass, I saw 2 associates standing in an isle next to the windows, so I walked up to them to ask where it’s located and while I was standing next to them they both walked away not saying a thing to me. One of the guys was from the home improvements guy he is older bald and not friendly or helpful. I ended up going to the front to ask where the Plexaglass was.
If I could rate them lower I would. Very rude customer service. Bought a high end dishwasher from them. Had it installed professionally. Had a leak that was clearly from it being dropped or crushed. Their return policy is pretty terrible for large kitchen appliances only 2 weeks then its not their problem. The manufacturer told me they couldnt get a refund because I didnt report an issue within 48 hours. No help from customer service.
Feeling a little irritated... I should have gone to #Lowes as I always shop there but because I was in the area I thought I would try #Menards... Well they didnt have the item I actually wanted and I had to bag my own items... Im sorry but if Im going to spend $300 on just a few items I expect to be taken care of... Yes you may be calling me a diva but theres a reason I dont use self check out...
I had the worst experience here today because me and my wife went to go buy some appliances for our house and we got stopped because my wife wasn’t wearing a face mask. My wife had to go back to the car to wait for me and the same person that stopped us literally after seeing my wife walking to the car says to me that they’re selling masks upfront. I went up to the front and I asked the lady if she could sell me a mask she rudely said NO! I asked her why not? she said sir please leave now or go do your shopping. I understand that with everything thats going on right now we should be protecting are selfs but i don’t understand why they had to be so rude about everything. If you don’t want to be there or want to be around people like that just don’t go in or quit simple and easy!
If you want to shop Menards, just go to Morse Rd. The stock there is better, and staff are generally more knowledgeable, friendlier and more helpful (often staff at Broad St is hard to find). Every once in a while, I mistakenly venture into the Broad street store only to remember why I try to avoid it.
I was in line and started to get over heated. Couldnt bag my stuff. Told the cashier I was sorry. She was not helpful and rolled her eyes. I could not believe it. I was near customer service and yelled for them to help me. I had 5 people they brought a chair made sure I had water and help cash me out with smiles and concern. Thank you for recognizing right away with no questions. I wont go to that women line again but always be back. Sorry caused a fuss.
Do not special order from this store. If mistakes occur in the order no resolution is offered. We waited over a week (the order was supposed to arrive in 10 days) we never got notification that it was in-store like we were supposed to, when we called (at day 14) we were told only one of our items were in but to come on in and they would figure it out. Long story short the walls we ordered were in but the tub had never been ordered. All we got for our troubles was a shrug and heres a comprable tub you can get instead ( it was in fact not a comprable tub, smaller in size and not anything close to what we needed.)
The most annoying part about this store (unsure of this is at all locations) is the AT&T/ Direct TV salesmen in the back of the store by the doors and windows section. If I wanted to change my cable service provider, it certainly wouldnt in the interior trim aisle at a home improvement store. This has got to be the most annoying part of the store. Im usually able to avoid them by doing my shopping in the late evening, but they got me tonight and were trying to get me to switch from AEP to their affiliate for my power service billing.Additionally, it is very difficult to get help in most areas of the building. Its nice to not be over burdened by the employees at every turn, but theyre often no where to be found when you need them. When you do come across one, I feel like they are trained to avoid eye contact.Lastly, the checkout lines. Holy crap is that a disaster. Unless its a major holiday, theres usually at most 2 lanes open. The lines are often times both full which fill into the main aisle behind you where youre blocking traffic for those trying to move through the store. I think the major holdup of this is the customers bagging their own product. It seems people arent coordinated enough to both pay and load items into a plastic bag to keep the lines moving. Rather than the cashier helping the customer get things loaded, theyll just start scanning my products in and feeding them down the belt before the previous customer has had a chance to finish. The only reason I gave this 3 stars is the fact that I do enjoy the products found in the store. They have a great selection in stock, often times items that must be special ordered in their competitors stores.
I purchased a HUD home which needs everything, and I mean everything. Put it this way - three upstairs rooms, including the kitchen have no flooring. At all. The first thing I needed to do was to put in an entire HVAC system after squatters sold the old one off for the metal content. So Im always at home Improvement stores, and Ive gotten to know the big three big box stores very well. Menards is the furthest from me, but its quite simply my hands-down choice. Theyre the low price leader, and most importantly, theyve quite simply got what I need. Staff is always great - after analyzing all three, Menards was an easy choice.
On May 13, 2017 my wife and I went to the Menards at 6800 E. Broad St. Cols. Ohio to shop for a product in the weekly ad. I approached a male with the name George on his ID name plate concerning an outdoor cleaner that I could not find. He responded go look down there where the rest of the cleaner products are, I told him I looked and did not see what I was looking for. He then responded go talk to the people that work down there I am busy in a very negative tone of voice. I told him I was sorry for bothering him and would be sure to let his manager know about his attitude. I explained the situation to a manager at the service desk, he stated that he would speak to this individuals supervisor. Meanwhile did not know that my wife was standing nearby and overheard George and his supervisor talking about this situation and laughing about he told me he was to busy to help when inquired about the product I was looking for.I walked back down and told this guy that I have supervised many people none would ever be allowed to talk to person like that. I told him I am contacting corporate concerning this matter. I later had spoke with the supervisor of George about his attitude and how rude this person was. After it didnt appear anyone was concerned I left the store and do not know if I will ever shop there again.
Went to Menards today looking for Ortho Home Defense. Several employees walked past did not speak or ask if I needed assistance. I finally found the aisle the product should have been in. It was not there. I asked a worker that was changing the shelf tickets in the automotive area about the gallon size of Home Defense. When I was asking him my question he didnt even look at me he kept working on the shelf and said whats your question, REALLY! First he said they dont have the liquid, then he tells me well if we do have it its upstairs in the stock room. I asked him if I was allowed to go up there, mind you this is only my second time in Menards, he says yes. This employee didnt try to guide me to how to get up there only telling me its against the back wall. I cut him off said thanks anyway walked away, I could tell he really did not want to help me or be bothered. Very poor customer service.
I have a hard time walking and was very disappointed they did not have any electric carts for me to use. I walked back to look for what I needed. They didnt have what I needed, but I found out they carry groceries. When I walked out empty handed I saw an electric cart parked in front of the exit
Its a great store with lots of selection and much better prices. I looked at a shower arm bracket and it was $4 cheaper than lowes and had more options in different colors. However this is not a service based store. Meaning no one will come up to you and ask if you need help. Thats not the type of store it is.
Was an excellent experience as far as the store cleanliness, and stock available, just like the one in Massillon Ohio. Only thing I noted different from here, is customer service is not as good. At Massillon Ohio, every employee you pass asks if there is any thing they can help you with. Here, while I was in a store motorized cart, employees were cutting me off, like I was in their way, and they were more important than myself the paying customer, who with my purchases goes to help pays their paychecks. A couple of times, i heard them saying, I wished they would move out of our way. My wife was by my side, since I had my hip replaced a month or so ago.
First off, they dont understand how to price or the concept of BULK PRICING. Bulk pricing means as the quantity goes up, the price per unit goes down, yet at this Menards their bulk pricing was the same price per quantity as their smaller packs.Second, we went to buy light bulbs and they were advertising contractor packs on sale. The boxed were clearly labeled contractor packs in bold print. I get to the register and they tried to bate and switch me. I got the manager, and she says oh, these arent contractor packs, you need to call ahead for a rebate because were out of them to which I replied how is this not a contractor pack, when it is clearly labeled in bold print on the box. The manager just stared at me, said nothing and walked away. For those of you who dont know, this is a somewhat common, shady business practice that is illegal.
Worst staff ever. No one was willing to help load or unload. When asked where products were, no one seemed to know. Staff was not willing to even help or answer questions. The guy at the guard shack was more interested in playing with the dog of another truck instead of let us in our out. (we sat there for a good 20 minutes waiting on him) I do not think we will visit this location again.
They had everything I needed, however, they werent very helpful with answering my questions. I had to ask 2 different employees in 2 different departments questions. One about their process for placing an order and one a product question, and both just gave me blank stares and a generic answer that didnt actually fall on the same topic of the questions. Unrelated to their customer service, their parking lot is very hard to navigate and can be quite dangerous because of it.
I didnt find what I was looking for. The bathroom accessories wasnt fully stocked and the faucet sets were much higher than expected. I did notice some items that Im interested in purchasing. But when I Googled items of interest Amazon is selling tems $5 to $10 cheaper.
1) Asked where I could find a concrete trowel. Out of 4 associates, no one knew. I found it.2) Asked where restrooms were. Associate, without looking at me, raised his arm towards direction of restrooms and grunted. Then went about his business.Very disappointed. This isnt the first time for poor customer service. Love the store, not so much the employees.
Staff was very rude today when entering the store as we were putting our mask on. The lady waited until we got in the store and told us that we could not be in the store without a mask. This is not good customer service. Its not what you say but how you say it. I will not be shopping here ever again. Worst store in America!!
Their front end manager (whom doesnt state her name when answering the phone) is cocky and disrespectful. After being asked to be transferred to a general manager cause I was tired of her attitude she just let it ring and ring. I never did get to speak to the general manager. I will NOT return...they lost my business.
I wouldnt trust what they say on there website about instock items because you cant trust it. I know first hand I would suggest if possible go to another place. Poor customer service. Highly disappointed. Menards in Columbus Ohio on East Broad street. I spoke to Emma B with Guest Service Representative and she is refusing to do anything about it. I call that store it said they had it but the employee couldnt find what I was looking for. So I had to ship and pay fee and process fee witch I think I shouldnt have do to there mistake.
Got some awesome assistance from a guy on a knee scooter today! He helped me find some interior doors I needed. He explained how he got hurt at work and has been in a boot since June! But hes not only working, hes helping customers!!! That says a LOT about Menards!! 👍👍👍
The way a customers should be treated. If you have forgotten that feeling, stop by. Prices are the same or better than the other two competitors and the selection is phenomenal. Questions always get anwered with a smile, and without the feeling that you are holding them up. You are their #1 priority.
Couldnt find the item in the store so we ordered it online (Jun 27). Expected to get it in a few days and when we hadnt heard sent an email. Was told it was scheduled to be delivered Jul 18. On Jul 18th, still havent heard so we called the store. Now it is scheduled to be delivered on Jul 22. Deadline on project is quickly approaching, so bought the product elsewhere in town (same day and cheaper). Tried to cancel the order and was told it couldnt be canceled, but they MIGHT be able to take a return with a 25% restocking fee.Great customer service - NOT.
I purchased a Delta shower head my mom less than a year ago from this store. I was somewhat perplexed as to what to do when the connector on the hose crack and I could not locate the receipt.I called the store and I was informed that I could exchange the shower head without the receipt. However when I attempted to do that I was told I could not. I was told I needed to contact Delta. But I needed to put the shower head back on immediately
Jennifer in electrical is super helpful. Didnt even properly know the name of what I was looking for and she found out. Tyler in wall and floor covering is also awesome. Came in for grey paint and he showed me everything they had! Love the Columbus location and their awesome associates.
Terrible experience. Spent more than 30 min looking for items. Asked multiple employees and none of them could answer where anything was. Literally went down an isle with 3 employees who saw me and went the opposite way of me. Employees that did help only gave me general ideas of where something MIGHT be located instead of showing me. Menards does not employ the concept of KISS therefore leaving customers frustrated and confused. I will do my shopping at Walmart from now on.
Went to buy porch railings. Employees seemed too busy talking to help. Finally made purchase and were sent to the lumber yard. No one was there to help. When we did find someone, all the rail posts were cracked and split. Went back in store for a refund. Will go to Lowes for our porch railings.
This place used to be 5 stars but its been going downhill steadily. They used to have the best finish lumber selection around but a few years ago it really went south. They just remodeled this store too. I was on board with that until today when I needed just 2 - 2x4x8s. These used to be inside the main store with a ton of other common construction lumber. Now with the remodel, its all outside in their barn which is a bit of a walk or a hassle to drive around too. Ill still buy larger sums of my construction lumber here when it makes sense for the hassle of driving around to the back but for 1 or 2 boards Ill head to Lowes or HD. Still good for other items, hopefully that doesnt change anytime soon.
Love menards. Love the prices and the rebates. Love the array of stuff. Hate there yard. The guys/girl at the gate r always great. But it need assistance past that point. You might as well forget it. Im strong enough to load everything myself. But as light as lattice is it doesnt slide into a minivan very easy.
Contacted the store at 6800 E Broad St on Friday July 21, 2017. We were looking for a Window Air Conditioning Unit we spoke to Josh in plumbing and was told they had a 15,400 but for $349.00 and they had 1 in stock. Me and my husband drove from the Southside of Columbus to Reynoldburg which is a 30-45 min drive one way to get there and be told they never had one in stock when confronted he lied about what he said. Dont waste your time at this store the Managers are useless and dont care about their customers. Go to Lowes or Home Depot dont waste you time, gas, or money at this place.
First time I visited. Seem to have more variety of certain items compared to Lowes or HomeDepot. Well organized. Saw employees on floor. Prices are ok. A few mire areas like food/grocery and as seen on tv pots and pans. Disappointed they do not install many items they sell.

2021-11-25Super nice and organized store. The employees were knowledgeable & friendly. You could easily get lost in all that they have a spend a few hours there.

2021-09-15So let me start off by saying this place really is nice and great.I was really worried and concerned about coming to East Broad Street because I think of East Broad Street is not very clean and not very safe but this is far enough out on Broad Street that it is in a nice area and the people are nice and it is clean. They have a wine supply items from household items to home-improvement stuff stuff.I think if this is a large Walmart but nicer cleaner and actually has tellers working the counters rather than self check out.Your household items and food or limited compare to Walmart but your home improvement items are boundless and without end.If you’re in East Columbus and you need a home improvement store consider this a great stop I’d highly recommend it

2021-12-28Went there to pickup building supplies..not during a busy time, checked in at gate then to the pickup desk to ask for loading help. I was told pull into building and someone on a forklift would help me....35 minutes later still NO ONE. Went to desk again asked for help. They said someone would be right there. I chased down a forklift driver, he said he was busy...to ask someone else. I wasvthe only vehicle in the yard for nearly an hour. I began loading myself...I broke my knee 2 weeks prior to today. 2 HOURS later I am loaded....NOT ONE MENARDS EMPLOYEE OFFERED TO HELP. They walked past me,, drove passed me, and even played on their phones within 50ft of me. My order was 30 sheets of 3/4 osb and 50 2x12x16s....NOT ONE DECENT PERSON AMOUNG THEM OFFERED TO HELP ME AS I LIMPED BACK AND FORTH TO GET MY STUFF....

2022-03-21*BEWARE* So apparently Menards uses a 3rd party service to deliver their supplies. Which is totally understandable. We paid EXTRA for this service and did NOT receive all the materials we paid for. We have a video recording showing we definitely did not receive the whole order. So we call the Store to sort this out...... They want My Wife and I to deal with the 3rd party service that THEY hired? Menards Told us BASICALLY its YOUR PROBLEM NOT OURS? We were planning on spending over 5,000 in materials to do a basement remodel. Now that We have to apparently track down and find the stuff I paid for! We will probably return what has already been purchased and go with a Company that cares about the customer. Just be careful when dealing with them. If they try and resolve this I will delete this post.

2022-06-26I visited the East broad street store today in need of outdoor shrubs for landscaping. I met Dave who was the most patient and compassionate person I could have ever met. He literally walked me through and educated me on the type of shrubs that will work best for my landscaping.. His customer service was a 20/10! I will be back for sure!

2022-05-01Been waiting for wood to be delivered for nearly a month now. The first time it was to be delivered no one ever showed or called. The second time half of the order came. Now I have lost count of how many times they said it was on the way. They do no call to let me know the status or that it is not infact on its way. As of Friday this week it was on its way again to be delivered by 4. When I call the driver he tells me all of his family issues and why he hasn’t even made it to Menards to pick up my delivery but when I spoke with Menards they stated it was on its way. Zero communication & accountability. I understand everyone right now is short staffed but saying something it is on its way and give me a time to be waiting and it has not even been picked up yet is crazy to me. At this point I don’t want to cancel because I don’t even trust that my money will be returned completely or correctly. Beyond frustrated and just want a REAL date & time I will be able to get the rest of my order.

2022-06-06I love Menards! They literally have a bit of everything you might be wanting or looking for having to do with your home. Very nice & neat. Shelves stocked & cashiers waiting to check us out.

2022-05-30I would like to give a shout out to “Dave” in the garden center. I have always shopped at this Menards and prefer it over lowes and Home Depot who are much closer to me. I go out of my way about 15 minutes to shop here. They often have an 11% in store rebate which is fabulous in todays economy. I stopped in yesterday at the garden center to get some soil, shop the plants and having killed everything I bought last year needed some serious help. Dave was the only team member available and took about 30 minutes out of his day to answer all of my questions and help load up the soil he recommended. (About 10 bags) he also helped entertain and enlist my childrens help in the process. Menards you have a solid and helpful team member here and hope that you are treating this gentleman right. 5/5 recommend “Dave” in the garden center.

2022-06-21Always clean, always a fast check out, always a friendly staff. Honestly one of the best and most consistent stores I have visited in the Reynoldsburg/Columbus area.
