I went into MedVet Diley tonight not knowing what to expect - it was our first experience with emergency vet services of any sort. The staff were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, and my experience there was absolutely wonderful, start to finish. Ive often heard that emergency vet pricing is ridiculously high, but the pricing tonight felt very reasonable and was actually quite a bit lower than anticipated. Again, the employees were all so friendly and professional. Our dog received the best care. Would highly recommend and, while I hope to not have to go back, I definitely will if and when we next encounter an emergency. A huge thank you to everyone working there tonight. You are appreciated!
Very professional and clean office. Helped us very quickly even when it was late at night. Did everything they could and gave us every option available to let us decide on the course of treatment. Kept us informed every step. You could tell the vet herself and the staff all love the animals they treat. We were so thankful they gave us and our children the opportunity to say our goodbyes. The vet prepared us for what was to happen next at each step. They did everything in their power to help our dog and when they could do no more they kept her comfortable while we said our final goodbyes.
January 7th i had to say goodbye to my best friend harleyboy this was my first trip to medvet but it wont be my last i couldnt ask for better treatment they treated harley with such dignity and compassion as well as myself they helped me with the cremation arrangments we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for showing us so much. Support and compassion during this most difficult time
The staff and service here was great. They were very compassionate and caring through the whole process of me having to send my beloved Olivia over the rainbow bridge. By far the hardest thing Ive ever had to do. Its been three weeks and Ive cried for her ever single day. But the ladies I dealt with made it a bit easier and for that I will be forever grateful. 🧡
My cat was very sick. They got him in immediately, kept in constant communication with us, took their time explaining everything in detail like what their concerns were, which tests needed done and why. They explained the cost of each procedure and went over what options we had. Unfortunately my cat had a fatal disease for which there was no possible treatment. They were very kind and compassionate and again went over what options we had. Let us discuss privately what decisions we wanted to make. Even though my precious pet had to be humanely euthanized they were very supportive and caring of our feelings. I absolutely would bring any of my pets back to them for treatment. Every person we dealt with from the receptionist to the vet were all extremely kind and professional.
I recently had to take my guy Hank to MedVet to say goodbye, two days before his 16th birthday. I had Hank since he was 2 months old. From the time I called when I pulled into the parking lot until the moment I had to leave and go home without my friend, every single person at MedVet with whom I spoke was incredibly kind and compassionate. I had to return to pick up Hank’s ashes, and they were just as wonderful as before. I can’t say enough good about this place and every person there. I received a sympathy card in the mail today. I also turned his paw print into a tattoo. 🙂Top shelf treatment for my friend and me.
I have taken two of our dogs there. Both times we felt like our animals were in good hands. Sarah was truly wonderful when she helped with my boy, Zero. Sarah, if you see this, thank you for everything you did for him and giving me a few more wonderful months with him. I will never forget your kindness.
THIS PLACE IS AWFUL!!! We took our dog in at 9 AM and didnt leave until 2 AM that night. (18 hours!) We waited 2 hours for a doctor. To even come into our room. With an empty parking lot. We were told she would need surgery for a gash on her hind leg. After we were informed of the payment amount we explained that we didnt have cash and the banks werent available. The nurses said they couldnt do anything for my dog who was suffering and bleeding on the floor!! After we paid with a card they took her back. We were told it would be 2 hours so we waited and then walked in to check on our dog. They said she was under anesthesia and was getting ready for her procedure. We went back to the car and waited another 4 hours. Before checking in on her again we were told it would only be a few more hours. The nurses were VERY rude when we went in for the second time and said Im not sure if you know what ER stands for but its emergency room. We have priorities. Go back to your car or go home later to find out that its a $800 over night fee. we live a hour away so we waited in the car. We then went back in after 2 more hours to ask if she was at least in operation. A different nurse said Your dog hasnt even been prepped yet we have multiple other animals ahead of you We were furious. We continued to wait in the car until midnight when they said our dog was just now going into surgery. We went in at 1 AM and waited. They pulled us into a room and explained she had 23 stitches done and the doctor said There was bruising which is concerning but In order to leak blood from there it would take a lot more effort and time which we dont need right now We watched many concerned animal parents walk in and out. While in waiting we saw 2 animals sadly pass. The nurses are rude. The wait time is ridiculous. The prices are outrageous. And they put my dog under anesthesia twice! Please do not waste your time here.
Let me first start with the negative reviews. The majority of them are about the cost. Look, it’s an emergency room for pets that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These are not cheap to keep open. Your money is paying for salaries, procedures, services and Doctors. Expect to pay because a Doctor and Technicians time is valuable as well as the multiple medications, tools, cleaning supplies etc.Care was phenomenal. Our mixed breed rescue is an escape artist when it comes to her kennel and she chewed through the bars, climbed out and was caught causing a deep puncture to her side. The Doctor and Technicians did a great job explaining everything that was completed during surgery, after care instructions and what to expect during the healing process. The staff was amazing. I have never encountered such kind, caring and compassionate individuals. They sent photo text updates and welcomed our calls.Wait times - again, this is an emergency department and some emergencies take precedents over others. I work in two emergency rooms and this is not different for people. The more severe case will take precedents over something less severe, this is a good thing.Do not second guess coming here. We (hopefully) won’t have an emergency anytime soon, but if we do we will return.THANK YOU Diley Hill staff!
Great Vet, horrible staff. I took my dog in, and I totally understand critical pets and their needs. I got a call my dog was done after 4 hours waiting in my car. They said it would be a few minutes. An hour later, I tried to call NO ONT ANSWERED! I walked in, 4 people talking up front, couldn’t answer my call, then tell me they have done nothing with my dog. I just don’t understand. All they said was there is a critical patient… but 4 people get paid to do nothing.
They are awesome and patient and super nice. All the staff are great and they really care about animals. If I had one complaint it was that we were there from 930 or 945 in the morning and didnt get out til 2 or 230 in the afternoon but we rescued our dog and is was SEVERELY UNDERWEIGHT FOR its breed and it was SEVERELY ABUSED AND NEGLECTED so they really helped us navigate through that. We also understood our dog wasnt the only dog there so we got all that. ALSO the vet at Medvedev made it possible for me to get an earlier vet appointment with my vet. Overall would totally recommend. Glad my vet recommended them to me.
Nice staff, quick service, and heartfelt kindness. We had a tough situation and I liked the no-nonsense approach that the vet took explaining our options and leading us to the right decision. I read a few controversial posts about MedVet Diley Hill, costs and waits. I found it reasonably priced for a Sunday afternoon emergency. And as an emergency room should be, our critical situation was handled in a very timely manner.
Our dog was showing pretty serious symptoms. From the moment we called until we walked out of the clinic, everyone was warm and knowledgeable. Our pup made a ton of new vet tech friends and left feeling a ton better. Will not hesitate to call back if anything happens to our pups again.
I had to take my dog there on Sunday 05/08. He had collapsed suddenly at home out of no where. They sent someone right out to my car and he was seen immediately. Unfortunately a tumor we had known about and that he was receiving care for had caused internal bleeding and there was nothing more we could do. The staff was so nice and the vet was wonderful. We had to say goodbye to our dog after 15 years, but I can’t say enough about how compassionate everyone was. We had him cremated and got him back on Tuesday, we left with paw prints, and then we got a sympathy card from the staff in the mail. They really understand what these precious fur babies mean to their families.
Great place when your regular vet is not open and it’s an emergency. They are great with our family members. Keep you updated on what is going on. Once they send you home they check with your regular vet and upload the files on what they did and all the information on the outcome. Very friendly staff and they are very caring!
This place really showed me and my daughter compassion and didnt try to take us for a ride when it came to having our four month old Husky pit Youthinize d due to Parvo.Sally was full of life and very loving companion shes missed everyday Thank you for your TLC its very rare in this world today!!!
Due to covid they are only do curbside drop offs so call in advance to see if they arent busy unless its an emergency.Had taken my cat there due to an abscess, they kept me updated on what was going on as well when they called. They took really good care of my kitty while she was in discomfort and Im grateful for that. The only thing that got me was they did stitches in her and I have to go back in two weeks or to a different vet to have them removed. Suppose they arent doing the ones that fade away over time so thats just a little unfortunate but hey the real thing that matters is long as my cats doing better.Definitely would recommend this vet to anywho is in need/looking for help with a pet.
They were able to help me and my dog,Zeus work on some issues that we both had. After 3 dog fights within my home that day I was going to put him down, but to my great relief and his, they were able to suggest other options and possible problems in the house. We are doing just fine now! Thanks to the caring people who were looking out for his best interest.
I don’t know how I feel about this place but what I do know is the nurses are very kind and very fast but they told us they would only update one person and the person got changed to my sister without my permission and I was never informed they are super unorganized and overcharge way to much but considering it is an emergency situation people are willing to pay an arm and a leg for their fur babies they take advantage of that and they were doing all kinds of unnecessary x-rays and test that she didn’t need done 4 times all and all I just wouldn’t go back to this place
Everyone in the office is AWESOME!! Dr. Kirk Forte sat with us on Easter Sunday morning for 25 minutes and explained everything! THANK YOU!!!!!!!Panda is ok and very happy. Panda stated he is very satisfied with his treatment. Panda also stated he is very grateful for everyone there! He stated he felt the love there. As for the cost, what is the best care worth for your best friend.. Because that’s what we received at Medvet-Canal Winchester office.
This place was great until MedVet took over. The price is now way too much and the care is now impersonal and only goal to take all your money instead of helping you and your pet. It was nice when there was an alternative to MedVet. Now back to having no where to go for emergencies. Who ever sold out to MedVet made a terrible decision.
I used this clinic several times before they were great and saved my puppies and my old dog. I gave them 5 stars then especially Dr Dickie, Dr gonzales, Dr warner and Dr Tiffany for saving my puppies and care for my dog. This past visit i was baffled by the disorganization, lack of communication and customer service. My last visits i was updated 2 times a day for my pet this time i was lucky to even get one call a day. The last 2 days my dog was there i got zero calls! I went visit her and then spoke to a Dr A sorry not sure her spelling is . She came in trow some numbers on me i asked her opinion she told me was not familiar with my dog case?!! I ask how to proceed what is the plan? She told me for me to decide!? I had to call multiple times to get an update for my dog. Really not happy with all. Will be looking for different clinic 😢
Scam artist! My friend took their service dog here they held it hostage unless she got this loan. Now they don’t work with the company. My friend who I am their care giver lost that dog later in the year. From something this vet should have caught. My friend is autistic and felt pressured to get this loan in a moment of stress by this vet. Don’t go here they are scam artist! Go to OSU. At least you aren’t dealing with someone who you know isn’t gonna sell your dog out the back door… here who knows from the sounds of it.
BEWARE OF THIS PLACE AND TAKE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS SERIOUSLY! My cat was dropped off today at 11 am. He was not looked at until 8pm and is now finally able to be picked up at 11pm. 12 hours after drop off! My cat got into a fight with another cat and his head/ear had a gash. This was not a life threatening injury but I ended up with a $1,000 dollar bill of charges. I was given a price of $761 when they called me at 8pm to tell me what they were going to do and I gave my credit card information for payment. At 11pm pick up time I was told that another $200 in charges had been added on top of the $761 I already paid. No call at all beforehand to tell me about these extra charges and when asked why there were more charges I was told that the $761 dollars I paid at 8pm was just a deposit. This place should be sued!
They seem to really care about your pets. I wasnt happy that I had to sit in the parking lot while my pet was in there alone but I could get past that. But they let me sit for 2 hrs worried about my fur baby then I get a call saying its gonna be another 6 to 8 hours before they can see him. Why didnt they tell me that 2 hrs before. And of course the prices for any pet service is outrages.
I have an older dog. He had a first time seizure episode. I called MedVet and they recommended that I take him in. It was 3 am. When I got to the facility they took Harley back. Did an exam and lab work . They gave me medication to take home in case he had another event. They did not start anti seizure medication which made me happy. After 2 days he has not had any further problems. I was so relieved to be able to get him checked out and bring him back home with me.
Medvet has a wonder staff that was urgent in treatment of my furbaby. They made us feel comfortable with our opinions and supported us with our treatment decisions. Unfortunately our furbaby did not survive and medvet took care of the cremation services for us. They also sent us a lovely condolences card with very kind words of sympathy. I appreciated the honesty that they provided during our emergency services and would definitely use them again if a situation was needed. Thank you for being there for central ohios pet population and caring for them as if they were your own.
Brought my cat in for an injured arm. It was a sprain and I left with a big bill and medication for my cat.About a week later I notice two large punctures that were bleeding on that same arm. I came back they wanted to charge me another exam fee and an even larger bill for the wounds that they should have found and treated when I was here the first time. They were busy that night but thats no excuse for incompetence they didnt notice what was wrong and said it was something else completely.
Before medvet took over this place was very reasonably priced and they did follow up calls. The staff is still very nice but you walk out with a nearly 500 dollar bill just for a dogs paw to be examined to find out they cant do stitches. Luckily, the bill was down to 350. But still awfully expensive to get meds I have at home and mentioned I wont need.Again the staff was great. Very nice staff, but medvet corporation is ridiculous with their prices. I am not a fan of medvet and how they price things.
I wouldnt even give this a single star..an absolute nightmare of a trip..waited 4 hours just for the dr. to come in only after we complained several times..office was dead empty with tons of workers doing nothing..by the time the dr. Came in my dog wasnt even sick anymore..when we arrived she was foaming out the mouth and couldnt even stand up it was terrifying..still dont even know what happened my best guess was she ate something that made her very ill but by the time the dr. Came in 4 hours later she was slowly improving and said she would be right back with meds for her nausea and 2 hours later and asking several times we still never seen the Dr again..so eventually after 6 hours we left without any med. But not before paying almost 200 for absolutely nothing..I would never bring an animal here!
So my Dog’s nose was bleeding and having breathing trouble and I rushed to bring her into this Animal ER. The VET promptly took X-rays of her body, but could not take a CT scan of her brain. She says the dog was not a good candidate for anaesthesia or sedation due to her advanced age (13 yo Lhasa Apso). According to Vet, Her best option was to be euthanised. After reluctantly postponing her Euthanasia for 12 hours, and witnessing her apparent deterioration, we decided it was time to say goodbye. How could they make the diagnosis and recommend to euthanise without a full CT Scan, and push me to make that decision promptly? I feel as if they may be trying to push owners towards euthanasia because they need the space or whatever economic reason. Now everything I’m googling about her symptoms suggests she could have been treated…but that is just internet knowledge so it’s not often more reliable than a vet’s honest and ethical diagnosis. I write this as a warning, beware of hasty choices and perhaps get a second opinion if possible. This was thousands of dollars, and will haunt me the rest of my life.
Thanks to all of you at MedVet Diley Hill from the receptionist, to the VetTech and the Veterinarian. Today was a difficult and emotional day as we had to put our little Westminister Highland Terrier down. From beginning to end I could not have asked for more knowledgeable and compassionate staff. Thank you, ALL, again.
Arrived at 7:00 at night. Was there for over 6 hours with barely anything done when I should have been in and out. They weren’t even that busy. Asked how much longer and the vet, who was sitting on her phone the whole time, told the nurse to tell me “we are working on it. It will take some time.” All I needed was a supplement.
I took my dog in last night which was a Sunday I must say the staff was excellent very caring and all around great. However, we left not knowing exactly what was causing his symptoms, so when my vet returned my call when they opened I explained what was going on and they advised they normally get records the next day and when they got the records my vet would review them and let me know if he needed to be brought in for further evaluation. The vet then called me later to let me know they hadnt received records and when they did they would contact me. I wanted a few more hours and thought maybe I needed to call to give permission for the records to be released and perhaps that was what was holding the process up. I called medvet to see and the lady answering the phone who didnt give a name was EXTRMELY RUDE!. I was very polite and simply explained the situation and that I wanted to make sure I wasnt the reason the records were being held up she interrupted me and very rudely said no its called your doctor worked 16 hours to go home and maybe sleep 4 hours and come back and most vet offices know this. I again explained that was fine and I understood I just wanted to make sure and she continued to be rude. Had I not have already had a good experience that would have been enough to turn me away! People answering phones for businesses need to have good communication skills and most certainly not cut a customer off that is trying to speak. This was not professional at all.
I gave 2 stars because they were available when I needed them. And the staff was super friendly .. however I feel taken advantage of... being told I would be made aware of anything to be done that I would be charged extra for and I wasnt and I was responsible for it, even though i would have agreed to it anyway I would still have liked to been aware before hand. Not to mention even after those charges there was no diagnosis...
My husband and I were staying at a hotel nearby as a half way stop to our travels to Michigan when our beloved elderly golden retriever had what we believe was a massive heart attack or a tumor that ruptured in his heart. The hotel staff (BrewDog) volunteered to drive my husband to Diley Hill Animal Emergency Center so my husband could continue CPR (we were staying at a brewery hotel and had a few beers during our dinner and we do not drink and drive, plus I had to stay behind at first to stay with our two little dogs).Upon arrival, the clinic staff did not hesitate and immediately gave it their all to try and save our sweet boy. At no fault of the clinic, our golden could not be revived. The clinic let us have as much time as we needed to be with him and they were very kind to us. A few weeks later on our way back to NC, we stopped to pick up the urn and found the staff took multiple ink prints of his nose and paws along with snips of his beautiful long fur that I did not even think to ask for during the emotional first visit. Also, a few weeks later we received a thoughtful hand written card from the staff that rests on his memorial shelf.
My fur baby became deathly ill. I called a vet to see if they would see Cheena and they recommended Diley Hill Animal Emergency. I called in to tell them her symptoms and see what the price would be to get her examined and treated. They told me 150.00 to examine her and then they’ll give me the rest of the quote once they know what’s wrong with her (payment is due up front. Forms of payment that I can remember was debit/credit cards everything except American Express and cash I believe). When I got home to take her, she wasn’t breathing properly. I called back and was told to bring her as soon as possible. While in route she stopped breathing. I called back to let them know and was reassured that they would have a team ready for Cheena when we arrived. As I pulled in the team came running out! They asked if I wanted cpr performed on her, and I said do whatever you can for her. After sometime of working on her Vet. White informed me that they couldn’t resuscitate Cheena. Vet. White was very warm and empathetic. I wish, I could’ve gotten Cheena to them sooner. There’s no doubt in my mind that they could have saved her. I decided to cremate her. Within three days I received her ashes. Her ashes were well packaged. I highly recommend this place. This establishment is very professional, affordable, and they really care about their patients, as well as the families. Also they were up to par for Covid policy. Their staff all had on mask. The families stay in their cars, while a member of the staff speaks with the families outside and then escort the pets in.
I took my acutely ill dog there. Things did not turn out as we all had hoped. However, I believe everyone there worked to the best of their abilities. They called me with updates regularly. When I called, they were easy to get a hold of. They always shared with me the costs of service prior to providing service. No surprises when the bill came. They cared for my dog compassionately.
I brought my dog in at 10:40ish PM it’s not 12:40AM and I’ve only received a call that he’s running a fever and to bring his pills in so they can get him started since we were having trouble doing it at home. Go in to give the meds to the front desk people and the lady there, (I didn’t get a name but I’m gonna call her Karen,) when I said that I just got off the phone and they wanted me to bring them in she looked at me and said “… okayyy?” She then proceeds to tell me she doesn’t “exactly understand what [I] want [her] to do.” Like honey, take the meds back to the doctor LIKE I TOLD YOU SHE SAID TO DO! The only reason I come back is because of people like the nurse I had yesterday, her name was Grace, and She was AMAZING. She is the reason I give 2 stars instead of 1. Warning: if the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing, DON’T take care of anyone, or anything.
My dog Arya was very sick from ingesting a bone. The care and compassion I received from the very first call to your office to the discharge went above and beyond. I appreciate all of the thorough and prompt communication from the staff on the care she received. It was hard not being in the office with her but she handled it well and I attribute that to the staff in your office. She did great at home with her meds and recovered quickly.
Outstanding experience! I took my elderly dog in due to an accidental medication overdose. I was in immediately, updated throughout and even text an adorable picture while they had him. I knew my best friend was at the best possible place he could be to get the care he needed. 💜💜💜
They took excellent care of our cat when she got bit by a dog. They were very up front about everything we were paying for and offered options regarding what they did. They were also very informative about post-op care regimen and answered all questions. Our kitty recovered well!
I love when I can tell the people caring for my dog really love animals. They are dedicated, even when exhausted and I am relieved to know there’s people out here working tirelessly to have available care at all hours. As long as I have a way to get there, I am reassured that I will always have somewhere to take my boy when he has an issue that cannot wait.
My dog got sick on Saturday night and became much worse on Sunday. First thing Monday morning, I was on the phone trying to get an appointment with any vet in my area. The earliest appointment I could get was Friday and the majority of them said November 1st. One of the receptionists suggested Diley Hill. We drove almost two hours to get there, but it was worth it because they saw her that day. She was a very sick girl and she is already a little bit better. I am pretty sure she would have been dead by Friday. Everyone there was so kind. I hope we never have to see them again, but if we have an emergency, we know the place to go! Between vets refusing new patients, and vets who wont squeeze you in when needed, I am sure Emergency vets are becoming overwhelmed with the sickest animals. Pet parents are stressed in an emergency and yet this staff remains, calm, kind, and compassionate. Thanks for helping Raven!
Open 24hr which was so important to us, as we took our doodle in at 1am they never truly found out the cause of her issue after all the tests, however she came home to us much better and that was what we wanted. We were so thankful she didnt need surgery! People were nice and the dr. Who called me gave me time to ask questions not rushing me at all which I so appreciate. I would drive the 2hrs again if needed.
Thank you to the wonderful staff-They took wonderful care of my boy, Oakley. He was having some stomach issues so we decided to drive an hour to the nearest Emergency Vet (I would rather be safe than sorry). Before they did anything, they told us the price and described why they were doing it, which was very sweet of them. He ended up being ok, even though we were there for a few hours, everyone communicated with us during the whole process and my boy is back at home feeling just fine. You can tell they care about the animals and treat them like their own. He sometimes is nervous around new people, but seemed to love them just like we did. Thank you so very much for the excellent care and making the process not stressful and going the extra mile for Oakley. We both appreciate it ❤️ I hope we don’t have to return for a while, but if a dog was ever having an emergency, i would recommend this vet.
Thank goodness for this 24/7 emergency animal hospital. They definitely went above & beyond for my dog who got bit by a copperhead multiple times. So knowledgeable, caring, respectful, sweet & loving. I dealt with all 3 shifts during my dogs stay & each team was AMAZING!!! My dogs are my kids, the vets & their teams surely treated my dog like he was their own. A HUGE THANK YOU to each & everyone of you that took care of Joe!If something happens to your pet & you need an emergency vet any time of day or night call them they will answer & be there for you with the door open!!
I HIGHLY recommend Diley Hill! We found a kitten in the middle of a rural road. She was in very critical condition and of course, this all happened on a Sunday, so we drove the 45 minutes to Diley Hill. We could not have gone to a better emergency veterinary clinic. Once staff knew what was going on, they quickly came out and got her in to be examined. The doctor explained her findings very thoroughly. We assumed financial responsibility for her and due to the extent of her suffering, made an informed decision to have her put to sleep. We were able to hold and love her for the short period of time she had left. The staff was incredibly compassionate towards this little one, treating her with so much love and respect both while she was still with us, and after she had left. THANK YOU - YOU ALL ARE INCREDIBLE!
We have visited the Diley Hill site several times before it became MedVet and were happy with their service even though wait times could be long. However, on 1/10/22 my husband took our sick German Shepherd and the entire event has been an absolute nightmare. My husband sat in the parking lot for over 4 hours waiting with someone coming out only once to ask if it was ok to get bloodwork which he consented to. He was so frustrated about waiting that I had to leave work and go myself and after going inside found multiple people hovering over computers and chatting. One employee finally spoke to me but offered a million excuses about being preoccupied with a new computer system. Our dog lay in the back with no one paying attention to him. I told my husband to come in and then we were placed in a room and where we continued to be ignored. They came in to ask if they could do bloodwork and he responded that they had asked hours before and he had already consented. Why hadnt they done it already??? He was furious. The office was a beehive of chatting and giggles. I have been in the customer service/administrative industry all of my life and was appalled by their lack of concern for either us or our dog. The entire atmosphere of the office was incredibly chaotic, unprofessional and uncaring which is totally unacceptable considering the business they are in. When the Dr. finally came in hours later they offered dire news and euthanasia. We decided it was definitely time to leave and seek a second opinion. It was another several hours before we were able to collect our dog and leave. I sent my exhausted husband and still sick dog to the car to wait for me. Even though I was shocked and infuriated at our over $1400 charge, I stood exhausted and beaten down with CareCredit card in hand waiting to pay. Again, I was ignored, not even a glance from anyone. Mind you, I was the ONLY one standing in front of their counter!!! Everyone was STILL totally intent on figuring out this new computer system. UNBELIEVABLE! When the doctor walked past me without even a glance 20 minutes later I had had enough and walked out. I waited several days to calm down and then called their office to pay. Each time I was put on hold for an unbelievable amount of time and I gave up waiting. Now, a week later, without even mailing us a bill, they leave a message stating they intend to send us to collections! I called this morning to make payment with my card and they couldnt take it over the phone so I will be making another trip to pay in person. This place DEFINITELY needs an office manager and policies set in place for customer service!!!!Update on our dog. Unfortunately he does have cancer but it was caught early. He is home, active and happy and we intend to enjoy plenty more weeks if not months with him. The MedVet Dr.s recommendation of euthanasia was extremely premature and I believe was only offered to be rid of us.Note to an office manager if they ever get one: If you are that preoccupied with new office software, you either need to shut down your entire operations until you figure it out or compartmentalize it and move it to the back room and continue regular operations at the front desk with patients and their owners in a normal manner. What we experienced on 1/10/22 was unbelievable and I hope no one else has to endure.
This was the most unpleasant and disrespectful.experience my family has had ever! To start things off we waited in our car for over 5 hours!!!! Even after calling 3 times to check on our dog we had to leave him overnight while customers kept being seen right in front of us and left with their pet. We watched people come and go. This place is very unprofessional.
They are friendly, understanding. I had to go there since it was late/early in the morning (my Vet was closed). My dog had 5 seizures in an hour an half, they came out & got her while had to stay outside, when they called they said they have her meds, to stop the seizures. I said hold on she is 12 years old and has had seizures since she was 1. Her seizures have changed this year, I want/need to discuss options. I dont like the fact my dog has to be in there without me, not sure if thats there normal policy or COVID policy since they are not my normal vet. The policy takes some of the communication out, Im would prefer to be with my dog. Im who she knows (even if her brain wasnt all there at the time). Other than that they were helpful, understanding & caring. They did what they thought was best to help ease the seizures and calm my dog.
I was honestly skeptical at first, (because they came to the car with their string and didnt use his no pull harness dumb for me to judge on it but thats just me) but after him being seen and how they handled him I would definitely come back he was happy going in and happy coming out staff is very friendly and understanding I definitely recommend this placeTo the staff Toby says thank you a bunch and he was happy to meet you all (this is him pictured below pouting cause we made him leave so soon)
We brought my dog in for emergency visit. They were so awesome. We ended up have to put Lilly down, which was so hard she was my girl. They gave us time to be with her and stay with her until the end. The staff was so awesome and caring. I would definitely recommend them.
I Love this place! They helped me when my dog Cooper was hurt at the dog park. He needed surgery and is recovering very well. They even sent photos of Cooper while he was in the hospital. Thank you for the best care of both Cooper and me. If your pet needs emergency care, this is the place to go!
Today I had to put my baby girl to sleep. My little fur baby was 14.5 years old and was fighting breast cancer. I called my doggies vet to hear they were full and couldnt see her. I called Medvet and was able to get her in. Very professional and let me know the process of everything. Very caring as well which means a lot. Much appreciation I have for all (individuals)I seen today on such a heartbreaking note!
Excellent care of our German Shepherd. Despite being extremely busy, our dog received timely and appropriate care. The physician and all of the staff we encountered were concerned about our pet and kind to him as well as us. Highly recommend this facility for emergent care.
We visited on 10/31/21, my fathers dog Duke(12yrs old) who had a visit two weeks for seizures and had two within 30 min. It was midnight when we got there and my father decided to have Duke put to sleep, the staff made him comfortable for he had another episode while prepping him for his trip over the bridge. They brought him into our room and gave us all the time we wanted to spend with Duke, the doctor came in and sent him across the bridge. I believe after he had gone we stayed another 20min or so with no interpretations until we left. As we were leaving the staff gave us their condolences and said they were sorry for the loss of Duke. In my eyes/ book they are very helpful and compassionate. THANK YOU for being so nice in a hard time for my father and his beloved boy Duke.
I have had to take one of my dogs here on two occasions for emergency issues. They were incredibly caring, and when I had an issue with payment for future treatments they were amazing at recommending alternative clinics. They really care about the animals, and it shows. Our baby girl has benefited from their attention on more than one occasion, and it is always been worth it. It may seem a bit pricey but it is absolutely worth it an emergency.
I am so happy today! I have a 5 year old female kitty (Noel) that was having great difficulty breathing last night. I raced her to Diley Hill Animal Emergency Center. They brought her right in and examined her, then proceeded to run the necessary tests to determine her illness. It was discovered she has asthma and should be OK with ongoing treatment. This was my 1st visit to Diley Hill Animal Emergency Center and I am so glad they are only 15 minutes away. The Ladies I interacted with were just great when it came to relieving my stress and anxiety. I recommend everyone visit Diley Hill Animal Emergency Center when a pet is feeling down. Signed, a fan for life, Joe Duncan
I have had to rush my cat here twice and they have always gotten him right in. I was out in the parking lot waiting on him for 7 hours today- not complaining. they were extremely busy. I’m grateful they were able to take care of him & get him feeling better. I watched the staff running in & out to get sick/injured animals in their care all day long. I’m drained from just watching the staff do their job. this has to be exhausting physically & especially mentally. They are a wonderful staff & truly care for the animals they see. expensive but worth every penny. thank you for taking such good care of my baby.
I had to take my dog in over the 4th of July holiday for critically low blood glucose levels. Even though they were extremely busy, they communicated with me often about his status and treatment. They were extremely knowledgeable and I could tell that they genuinely cared about my dog and his well-being. I wish I had everyones name because his care team was amazing!!He was there 36 hours, and his doctors and care team always took my calls and patiently answered my questions. They also were proactive in calling me and letting me know what was going on.When he was discharged, they talked me through everything and let me know what his next steps should be. They also provided detailed written instructions and encouraged me to call with questions and updates on my pup.I was worried about the cost since he was there so long, but they were very upfront about pricing (but it wasnt a money-grab) and it was a lot less than I anticipated. Yes, it was expensive, but it is an ER/critical care facility and it takes time and tests to figure out what is going on. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of their help.
Place was clean smelling, all staff I had interaction with was very professional and friendly. The wait time we experienced was about 4.5 hours which is a long time to sit in a car in the hot sun. My humble suggestion would be to please plant some trees for shade and put out a few more picnic tables. We had to leave our car running the entire time because it was so hot. Also maybe every hour call us or send a text to give a update on wait time and how our pet is doing, We worry when we dont hear anything for hours. LOVE YOU ALL FOR BEING THERE WHEN WE NEED YOU! 😊
The staff and quality of care that we have received for our dogs at Diley Hill has been nothing short of amazing. We have taken 3 pets there over the last year and a half, totaling at least 7 visits. They have exceeded our expectations with every visit. One of my favorite characteristics of this facility is their ability to get you in a room right away. An employee greets you at the door, gets a brief overview of why you are there, weighs your pet and then tucks you in a private room. We have been so pleased with everyone that we have met at Diley Hill. Every employee has been polite, understanding, helpful and professional. We would highly recommend Dr. Land for ACL surgery. He completed 2 TPLO surgeries for ACL repair on my pitties back legs. These were done 10 months apart, with the most recent one having been done this May. Dr. Land was very thorough and informative when going over the procedure and the recovery process. He warned us that our pup may very well tear his other ACL due to how arthritic his back legs looked via x-rays. He was right! We knew the signs the second time around and scheduled a consult with Dr. Land right away. They were able to get us scheduled quickly and even performed surgery the same day as his consult to spare us a second trip out. We are over an hour away from Diley and they are well worth the drive! My pittie is a rescue and is fearful of people and dogs. Diley went above and beyond to build trust with him and make sure that he was as comfortable as he could be at all times. We have been fortunate to deal with one technician, Jennifer, on multiple occasions. She has been so attentive to my dogs needs and his fear of people. I wont forget the times that she came in and sat on the floor with him knowing that my dog would be more comfortable with that as opposed to someone standing over him and looking down at him. We cant say enough good things about Jennifer, Dr. Land, and the whole staff that we have come across at Diley Hill. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of Noah, Booth, and Parker!
I have been sitting here for almost 4 hours in a room and no one can come and say anything. They said yeah bring your dog in and were just waiting with our dog . Ridiculous.. no one can say anything or say hey well be with you in about whenever we want.. sad .. my dog is suffering
Great emergency vet, and very busy. I thought everyone was very thoughtful, compassionate and professional about my situation with my pet. I spent 7 hours in two days to get her taken care of. It isnt a show up and go home. Hopefully I may not need their services again, but if I do I will be back. Thank you MedVet for a great job
I took a cat there late Saturday night and I believed her to be injured but actually she was very ill. I feel as if they were trying to give me hope, so that i would agree to more and more testing and treatments and hospitalization even though they knew after the first labs were done that she was not going to last long no matter what was done or how much I paid. I feel as if they would have done all kinds of unnecessary, painful treatment to her just to keep increasing my bill. But Im not stupid and I knew from the results of the bloodwork she was dying. And they told me that if I couldnt pay the entire $183 to have her cremains returned to me that I had no other choice than to not get her back at all. (And Im glad i was able to pay because the pet cremation place they use are actually incredible.) I will never go there again. No matter the emergency.
Brought our dog mid week later in the afternoon. Was there 6 hours for a ultrasound and partial bloodwork. The staff was nice, but way way to long of a wait time. It’s like taking them to Mt Carmel east on a full moon night. I would recommend if it’s not life threatening wait for your vet office to open and take them there.
Unfortunately, I had to utilize the euthanasia services they offer today. I was absolutely devastated to lose my Honey and the technician (Im sorry, I didnt catch her name) and Dr Gonzalez were very professional, respectful and efficient. The service was very affordable as well. Thank you for the paw prints, I didnt even know they were in there. I went to make my own and found them. ❤️
They were fast, professional, and took great care of my baby. i had to take my cat to a different er vet a year prior to this visit for the same thing and they didn’t tell me what was wrong, just sent me home with ointment. this place told me exactly what was wrong and gave me care instructions and were understanding and patient every step. thank you guys so much!
We brought our dog in and he was very sick. I knew that it was a high probability he may need to be put to sleep because of his age and illness. The staff was very considerate, compassionate, and understanding of our situation. All of our options were thoroughly explained to us. We had to make the difficult decision to put him to sleep. The staff let me wait until my boyfriend arrived (he was his dog). They let us spend as much time as we needed with him and the doctor was very kind and explained what would happen appropriately. When the process was over we were able to spend time with him until we were ready. We appreciated everything the staff did for us and our dog.
I brought my sweet little doggy in to this location because her behavior scared me. I started to notice her stumble over as if she was about to lose consciousness. I came in terrified. The lady who greeted me at the door took my doggy in ASAP and was able to comfort me and calm me down. I highly recommend this MedVet. The staff is friendly and gives great customer service! On the way home, my sweet little one was acting like herself again. Seeing her smile and her tail wag excitedly again makes me happy and grateful for the staff at MedVet Diley Hill.
My fur babe had to be put to sleep. And there was some confusion and mixed up about the cremation but they were very professional and took care of everything and I appreciate everything theyve done for my family and my fur baby Duke. Thanks to all who helped with Duke. I so appreciate your kindness and compassion that there makes it so much easier to deal with the heartache. Again thanks so much.
I had to make the tough call to put down my 14 year old cat. I had never done this part before and didnt think I would have to yet, they were so kind and understanding to me. The sweetest staff and gave me her paw prints and nose prints with a little bit of her fur. I may have been crying my eyes out but I appreciated them for being so kind to me and my sweet girl through her passing.
Thankful MedVet Diley Hill was able to help my dog after a vehicle injury. They called me before doing any testing so I knew what the cost would be and kept me updated throughout the whole emergency visit since I wasn’t allowed in due to COVID. Then two days after our emergency visit I received a text from MedVet asking how my dog was doing and if I had any further questions (which I thought was absolutely amazing of them to reach out to me like that). Thank you to all the wonderful staff that work at MedVet Diley Hill.
The MedVet Diley Hill facility is the best. We took our little dog very recently for seizures. The Drs, Techs and all support people were beyond fabulous. Very professional, caring, patient, kind....I cant say enough good things about all of them. We were treated so wonderfully.....we could call and check on our dog any time.....day or night and as busy as they are, our questions were answered right away. They treated our littlexbuddy as if he were their own and we cant thank them all enough.
I brought my cat in of 16 1/2 years to be put down. His health was falling fast. They treated him gently and handled all our questions humainly. We were told originally it would be atleast a 4 hour wait because of the amount of patients. It only took an hour. We opted for cremation and his assessment to be returned in a container. Very easy process.Highly recommend!!
A couple of years ago, we brought one of our dogs here to get treated and it was a good experience. So when my other little one fell ill, we did not hesitate to bring him to Diley Hill. When we arrived the parking lot was full. We waited one hour in the car before they came out to get him. Had x-rays and blood work done. The doctor went over everything with us. They gave him medicine and sent us home with additonal medications. They did forward the paperwork to our vet. It was a 4 hour event.A few days later, our little guys symptoms returned. So we called Diley. I told them that he stopped eating again and he was vomiting blood and it was time for him to be put to sleep. I was told that they will get him in as soon as possible. Just know that it is a Friday night and theres higher priority cases so well have to wait. In tears, I asked her to please just take him and as I was speaking, the person on the phone talked over me saying no we cant do that you will have to wait. I hung up the phone. We ended up taking our little guy to Ohio State. They were super compassionate during the process which took only a short time. I called ahead so they were expecting us. Upon our arrival they immediately escorted us inside to our own room. (They provide masks for visitors). They had a full staff there and there were only 2 cars in the parking lot. On a Friday night.I hope this experience will help someone determine the best place to seek care for their pets. I gave 2 stars because the medical staff did the best they could for him. Its the customer service I received that was unacceptable. Its not a good idea to tell an emotionally distraught person that their dying pet will have to wait an unknown period of time because its not important enough. There is no good and acceptable reason for that.
Ive taken 3 of my dogs here. Treated first for parvo and saved his life. 2nd had a UTI, treated her very well too. 3rd my poor Aussie was hit by a car and had to be euthanized. This above anything else was the most heart wrenching experience for me. I was devastated but the staff were all amazing. We got to stay with my boy as he crossed the rainbow bridge. After, they held him for cremation and explained all our options. Lastly, they sent us a paw print, nose print, and fur clipping as well as a card. I didnt expect any of this. They have gone above and beyond for all my pets but especially my little Buckeye. Thank you vets and techs for all you do❤
As my husband stated previously, they took great care of our Toby! Hes doing amazing after needing emergency surgery. From the second we arrived at Medvet we were treated wonderfully, everything was explained thoroughly, we were able to come in despite Covid restrictions to spend a few moments with him prior prior surgery and Toby had a great time despite the reason he was there. The office seemed very clean. Hes such a sweet boy and Im so happy to know he was treated with so much love!
Do not trust this vet with your money. Took our cat in today, they said it was going to be a $2000 surgery to fix him and after that the problem will most likely occur again, we told them we couldn’t afford to pay $2000 they took our cat back inside, came out and said “we knew you couldn’t afford it so we flushed his kidneys out and you can feed him this prescription food and he’ll be fine.” This is very unprofessional and they completely lost credibility after this.
The staff were very friendly I have no complaints there. I could tell the doctor really cared however this place charges way too much money for their services in my opinion. I get that it is near Columbus and many people there make a good amount of money but this is ridiculous. Money doesn’t just flow like water for many people. Pets like humans should have access to quality affordable health care.My cat was a year old and yesterday I took her there to find out that she had a rare disease and had to be put to sleep. They wouldn’t even let us in the building until they received their payment. Over 500 dollars later I went home without my cat it was a terrible day. Go somewhere else don’t waste your time go somewhere else .
I could not ask for a more caring staff in my time of need. The staff was swamped the night of our emergency and you could not tell it by their attitude with my family or their attention to care with our sweet fur baby. They treated our girl like she was their own. I will always utilize them for my emergency vet needs! Top notch care without a doubt!!
This was my first visit to this wonderful and caring facility. Our wonderful Shiloh developed kidney failure suddenly and was advised by Dr Hugh Dresback to take her straight away to Met Vet. The staff had a welcoming calm demeanor on this horrible day. Dr. Tiffany was quick to to tell all of early diagnosis including updates. Her care was absolutely first rate. After much consultation and soul searching we decided our sweet Shy Shy needed to be euthanized because her illness. My son and I will be forever grateful to the staff helping to us make this hard decision. God bless Gods helpers for creatures big and small who in some way has touched our lives and made us better human beings through the love of our four legged companions!Karen and Colin Harris
We found a kitten on the side of the road who’d been hit by a car. We rushed her to this vet because the police didn’t respond. The vet did a decent job but refused to give any sort of humanitarian discount. They told us in the past they had been burned. Not sure what that means. I understand it’s a business but this kitten was not ours and you’d think a caring vet would be willing not to profit off the backs of injured stray animals when people are just sticking their own necks out trying to do the right thing.
I had a very “unique” experience that was caring and compassionate. For years I fed and talked to a stray beagle who never allowed anyone to pet or contain him. I named him Buddy the Beagle. No idea how old he was, but he had been around for quite a few years. One of the neighbors donated a dog house for him but until a year ago when I put it on our pole barn porch and stuffed it with comforters he wouldn’t use it. After a long, hard winter, I noticed his belly was extremely large. Again, he would not allow anyone to touch him so I just hoped that after a tough winter he was filling himself up. There is a long novel here that I won’t go on about ... long story short Buddy needed emergency help. I and my husband were on our way to Cincinnati due to the fact that my 96 year old father-in-law was being admitted in an emergency situation to the hospital so my blessed son and daughter-in-law had to take him to the hospital where they fully and compassionately assessed the situation and called me where we decided the most compassionate thing for Buddy The Beagle was to allow him to Rest In Peace. I highly recommend this animal hospital to anyone and I thank them from the bottom of my heart and soul for what they did for the infamous Buddy the Beagle ❣️
Very caring staff! The vet and staff did all they could, but on June 8th I had to say goodbye to my best friend Scout. She was an 11 year old Puggle. Our fur babies never seem to be in our lives long enough, but the time they gave me to be with her in our final moments together meant everything to me. I did the private cremation and along with her ashes they gave me a tuft of her fur, paw prints and the best thing ever...a print of her snout. She was a snorer and seeing that really touched my heart because I miss her snores at night that lulled me to sleep so many nights. They are still doing the curb side check in, but they were fast and efficient in getting us checked in and taken care of.
They recently took care of my blue heeler who needed stitches on her snout after sustaining a pretty significant laceration. They were so calm and caring which I definitely needed because I was scared and freaking out. I expected that she would look a little rough when I picked her up. This wasnt the case. The stitches looked extremely well done and so far it is healing perfectly. She wont be left with a Frankenstein scar. I was so scared of her getting anesthesia because of her old age, but they made sure to do a full work up of her and check her blood to ensure it would be safe. She had no issues. I am extremely pleased and so thankful that there was a vet nearby that was open late! Highly recommend.
Very nice staff. I had seen a post on Facebook about a deceased cat pretty close to me so I went and picked up the cat and took it here. They have a good Samaritan cremation. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was the electronic stuff I had to fill out. It was like it was my pet when it wasnt.
I took my two year old pit mix here due to some recent health concerns. I noticed upon checking in that they were very busy, had mentioned they were calling people in and needed help due to the volume of patients they had. Understandably so with a 24/7 vet. With a full parking lot, my pup was brought in within 20 mins and they took such great care of him and he is on the right track to recovery. Excellent care
Our small 9 year old dog has been losing toenails and this recent was bleeding a lot, so we decided to go to the ER Vet considering our regular Vet was booked. We showed up and it is curbside only because of the pandemic (which I understand) BUT they had us scan a code and answer 14 questions when we got there and then call. We waited for 20 minutes in our car only to be told that it was a 5-6 hour wait. We asked if we could wait at home and then return, but they said we would have to wait in the parking lot. Not to mention the fee to examine your pet is $150. Im sure you guys see a lot of pets, but a 5-6 hour wait in your parking lot is not it. Maybe try to think of accommodations that owners can wait at home instead of in a parking lot of 5-6 hours with an animal in pain. Ridiculous and wont be going back. If you want to pay a lot of money to wait a while this is your place, but if you want faster service then I suggest elsewhere.
Annie the nurse is absolutely amazing!!! She took care of our dog kobey who had to be put down all staff very caring and they sent us a card in the mail. Also did an amazing job for our puppy bella tonight ! She & the night staff from our experience is absolutely the best crew ! Also had to come back the next week today which is thursday the 19th of august. Deb gave us syringes to feed our puppy and very helpful tips to improve our puppies health! Deb and annie you and your staff are a blessing we couldnt thank you enough !! Wish i could give 100 stars thankyou for taking care of our family 🙏❤
The service we received at Medvet was amazing. I felt safe leaving my dog there overnight and I felt comfortable checking on him anytime we worried. My daughter even called to ask how he was and we never felt like we were burdening the staff... Im happy to know we have a place like that to turn to.
Took my sweet girl, Roxie, here today. VERY friendly vet techs. The Veterinarian was very informative. Overall good experience under emergency circumstances. Only rated 4 stars because of the very extensive wait time (6 hours there total) and its a little more expensive than the ER Vet I normally use. Also, just a heads up if youre uncomfortable with sitting outside because of covid, you wont be able to go in with your pet here.
Completely worth the drive and the price. I took my dog there after her health rapidly declined within 24 hours. She was seen immediately, and I had answers and a treatment plan within an hour. The staff is very caring and understanding. I adopted my dog when she was 8 years old, so she has some old scars and injuries that have nothing to do with me, including missing and broken teeth. They are the first vet that hasn’t made me feel judged for it, just told me they understood and thanked me for taking in an older dog that otherwise may not have found a home. They are also very up front about the cost. And since pet insurance does not work like ours, I knew going into it that it would cost quite a bit. But they took such good care of my girl, I cannot recommend them enough! I hope I don’t have to, but I will definitely bring my dog here for any future emergencies. I wish they could be my regular vet office!
My dog went into full anaphylaxis from vaccinations at his vet. We knew he was sensitive to vaccinations and had a treatment plan that had worked for several years so this reaction was completely unexpected. His vet reacted quickly and made a call to Diley Hill Animal Emergency so we could quickly transfer him over. Diley Hill staff was quick to react and start the necessary treatment. They were waiting at the door when we pulled up. They were caring and informative. Its clear that everyone we interacted with has a compassion for animals. They called to keep me updated as my dog had to stay overnight and made me feel completely comfortable leaving him overnight. The negative comments I noticed always seem to mention price and I would ask everyone to remember this is an emergency facility. In order for any facility like this one to provide the best care, they need to bill appropriately. Doing so allows them to offer the emergency services to everyone when they need them. This was our first time to Diley Hill and while I hope we dont have the make a return trip - If another emergency were to arise they would be my first choice! A huge thank you to the entire staff!!
We were vacationing in the hocking hills and our 16 year old dog found a rat poison pellet in our cabin. We immediately took him to the closest emergency vet we could find. The staff was extremely helpful, kind, and completely transparent about everything. The cost of treatment was reasonable as well. I appreciate everything they did for us and our sweet Ozzy dog. He is healthy, happy, and back home with us.
My yorkie was sadly hit by a car. We came here to get him checked and sadly he needed put down. It was closing time but never rushed us and Dr. explained everything that was going to happen to my kids. We decided to have him cremated. Two days later I received such a wonderful card from them with all the staffs signatures on it. We went back to get his remains and they brought it outside to us and in such a cute bag and I just love the staff here. Being it was an emergency visit I didnt think is was expensive. Er visit, pain meds, Xrays, euthanized, cremated, urn and paw print in plaster and bill was less than $500. Watching the vet stroke my dogs head as he was being put to sleep helped my children feel better and touched my soul. I highly recommend this place.
Took my puppy there as he had puppy parvo. They were very attentive. Called me 2x a day to update me on his condition. Sent me a photo of him. I was able to text/call as much as I wanted to check on him. Once he was discharged, they reached out to check on him and I could call to ask any questions about his at home care. Expensive but worth it.
Took my cat in at 2am because he hurt himself while playing. One of his back hips, leg, feet seemed to be bothering him because he was limping. He growled and howled in pain before taking him in. Otherwise we would have observed him and taken him to our regular vet. At the time of arrival you find out that your unable to go inside due to the virus. I was told after an hour and being observed that my cat was fine, walking without a limp, and even tried to jump onto the counter (this would be rare, as he doesnt do this often at home). My family understood and felt maybe we over reacted. At this point I felt I paid $200 to take a nap in the parking lot. We took our cat home, only to find out that he is still in pain, still limping, and still verbally telling us that hes in pain by growling when needing to move his left leg. I wont take another animal to this hospital. If I could give 0 stars I would. I feel this place uses the excuse of the virus to take advantage of people. You cant see the services that are being done as they dont allow you inside with your animal.
The staff is always friendly and have a positive attitude. They are very knowledgeable and give you any information you ask for. They also treat my dog and his needs with respect and listen to us when we give specific instructions on one of our dogs (heavy puller, not dog friendly, etc.). They also dont breed discriminate! =) I will always take my animals to them when needed.
Took our dog here in emergency and was charged $500 to be brushed off and given no meds or accurate answers. Was not even able to go back with my dog. Dog was left in horrible condition. Ended up having to go to another vet few weeks later because obviously our dog was still having issues, and this placed called Kingston Vet only charged us around $250 and they did abunch of scans and tests, told us exactly what was wrong (turned out to be much more severe, and made WORSE due to the time wasted at Diley). Kingston also gave us a plan of action, AND MEDICINE, to help our dog and hopefully she will make a full recovery now. Luckily we were able to afford a second vet visit at a different place, but if we had listened to the people at Diley our dog would most likely be dead. Would not reccommend this place unless its your only option, or youre okay with overpaying for nothing. Diley cares about how much money they can get out of you, not the well-being of your animal. Better service at mcdonalds.Edit: Few weeks since I made this review and my dog has now passed away to her illness because she was ignored by these people. thanks and never again
We needed to have our dog seen in the middle of the night and called Diley Hill ER as recommended by our vet. The staff were friendly and professional. They took our girl in immediately. The vet and nurse were incredibly compassionate and patient with our dog and with us. Our experience with Diley Hill Animal ER was very positive. Super impressed with the staff!
Awesome place to take your animals if they are sick and are in need of immediate care. I can tell everyone loved their job and the animals. They do great at updating you with what is going on and how your fur baby is doing. We have had to take 2 dogs in this past year and they received great care.
Took my dog to diley road Medvets today. I arrived checked in and a hour later after I had to call to see where I was in line they called me to ask questions about my dog. Sitting in car in 85degree weather with a sick dog is not a good thing. No one bothered to call me and update my place in line after a hour or sitting. I find this completely unacceptable. If they were that busy they should have said from the beginning. I would never recommend this place or return there again. The customer service is horrible
We had to take our cat Ezio here on Saturday, and the service we received was incredible. The team is kind and compassionate, and despite being busy, they took excellent care of us. If anything should happen that would warrant an emergency vet visit, this will be my first choice. Thank you to this kind and caring team for your help!
Had to take my grandfathers cat in and she had to be put down. They asked and I let them know that I would like to be present during her being put to sleep. Waited for an hour before I called back wondering what was going on and they told me that they had already given her a shot to be put to sleep because she got worse, only problem being that they never called to tell me that or ask me to come in to be with her like I had requested. There is no way for me to know that she actually recieved a shot that cost right around $100 or if she passed on her own. Im not suggesting that they didnt, just that theyre vets that have been caught doing this and there is no way for me to know differently. I didnt get to be in there with her like I had wanted to say goodbye and let her know I was there. I understand things can take a worse turn quickly but I was only feet away from the door waiting on them to call and I had to call them after that much time didnt make sense. Someone couldve called me to let me know what was happening instead of making me wait and have to call myself.
The people of this facility are among the most compassionate people Ive met in the animal industry as a whole. They were willing to work with me on every aspect of our visit, and never did anything without my consent. While expensive, I do believe my Tetra kitty received the best care available to her while she stayed overnight for monitoring. I do hope I never have to visit again, but if I do, I am confident my pet will be in great hands.Thank you so much to the Diley Hill team!
Cant praise them enough, had to take my daughters Rottweiler King there to be sent to the Rainbow Bridge. They were so kind loving and understanding, you could see the love that they have and compassion for animals. Four years ago I had to go there because I had just gotten a dog didnt even have it for a full day and it had parvo. Magic is still alive today and well thanks to their care and fighting the disease aggressively.
This place is amazing. They have helped our Frodo more than once. Frodo is not the best patient because his anxiety escalates and he seems aggressive (actually a big teddy bear) they just deal with all of it in stride and we are so blessed and grateful that they treat him with love and kindness regardless. I highly recommend them to everyone!
EVERYONE at this center was EXCEPTIONAL!! We had never been to an “animal hospital” before since we live in a small town! Our local vet made the recommendation, and he made a WONDERFUL choice! In case of another emergency, I would go back in a heartbeat!! Under the circumstances, they took care of our 10 month old Golden Retriever puppy in a very timely manner that literally saved her life! The vets and staff were well educated, caring, kept us very informed, and didn’t care at all about us calling back with twenty questions! Even though we never once got to step foot once inside of the door because of COVID-19 restrictions, we knew and felt that our pup was in GREAT and LOVING hands!!
UPDATED: I recieved a card in the mail from them today and it was so heartwhelming. Im so glad it wasnt generic and that they signed it, it truly meant a lot to me and my family. It was really tough to make the decision between a $2500 surgery for pyometra or euthanasia for my familys cat. The nurse I spoke to was amazing, she made sure I understood what was happening and I love how she interacted with my cat. I didnt interact with the vet hardly at all, but I understand that it could have been a busy day. She was very kind and sweet with my cat, so I am thankful for her.Because we are a low income family, we had to have our cat euthanized. Im not saying this is the fault of this particular facility, but it is sad to see pets getting put down because their owners cant afford to pay in full. Healthcare for both humans and animals just kinda sucks all around I suppose.I am incredibly thankful to the vet for how she carried my best friend out of the room after she passed on, it was very gentle and comforting. They also gave us a fur clipping and a stamp of her paw prints, which was super thoughtful.Thank you Diley Hill.
My sweet little man Finn came down with a severe case of the Pukes and Poops™️ so I took him in to Diley Hill. Their incredible efficiency, efficacy and knowledge base lessened my stress rapidly. They were incredibly busy but they got me taken care of when I showed up at 9pm, gave phenomenal care to my favorite boy Finn, and had me on my way. Today (the next morning), Finn is happily playing with his sister, is rehydrated, and is feeling great. My sincerest thank you to all the staff and a massive shoutout to Allie (she’s a superstar). This place is wonderful, your pet will receive impeccable care at a great price. The $150 exam fee is very reasonable when doubled with the incredible care. I drove over an hour to and from, and will drive it again if I have other problems. Thank you guys,Joe and Finn
Took my dog here becuase she was vomitting for over 24 hrs. as well as vomitting blood. My wife and I sat in the parking lot because we werent allowed to come in. We arrived at 10 am and still have not heard from the vet and it is now 344pm. First phone call we got was about how much money its going to be before we even found out whats wrong with our dog. Pretty disappointed by theor lack of care for thier customers.
Fair warning, if you take your animal to this place make sure you bring your pocket book. These people charge a arm and a leg for basic services. Also they are only offering curbside service, not able to accompany your pet inside do to there covid protocols. I do not recommend this place, i would gladly drive hours to avoid this place.
I always appreciate a vet who can straight up tell you that your dog is super sick, run tests in the order they need to be done, and not sugar coat just how bad things are.I wasnt expecting to lose my dog that day (dog likely had an advanced form of bone cancer) but the vet was supportive, and sweet.
Chloe is our 13 year old Peke-Pom. She had a growth appear and it was frightening to see. It was not causing her pain, but obviously needed tending too by a professional.I called 10 vet clinics in the area- only 1 was considerate when they said they could not get her in to be seen, and they recommended I take her to you guys!It was stressful, but it was not so bad when the tech came out to get Chloe, and I could feel her compassion. This was the first time Chloe needed emergency care, and I am so very thankful that your clinic exists.Best to you all, and thank you for loving our fur families!
Cannot recommend this place more. My mother and I came in with my dog who had been declining in health early this week. The staff gave us all of our options and made each of them very clear. We had to make the hard decision to put our sweet girl down but the staff made such an awful situation better. They were kind and gave us the time we needed. We felt very well looked after and respected. The staffs professionalism and patient care is incredible!!
On July 23 2020 I took my elderly cat Rosie to Diley Hill. She hadnt been acting like her sassy self. Her regular vet wasnt able to draw blood due to dehydration and recommended Diley. After a thorough exam at Diley, they found multiple issues in her blood work including kidney failure and possible cancer. It wasnt a complete surprise as Rosie was going on 12 years old. I cannot say enough about the staff at Diley. Compassionate, empathetic, sympathetic. I chose to let Rosie go based on her lab results, prognosis and age. She deserved quality of life over quantity of days. I promised her a forever home and did just that. She will be forever in my heart.Thank you Diley Ridge Animal Hospital.Melissa Davis (Rosies mom)
We have had two emergencies with our dog. On the first he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. The second was because he was exhibiting similar symptoms to the first visit. On both visits EVERYONE was very caring. Their communication is WONDERFUL. I would highly recommend taking any pet there.
The 3rd shift staff made me feel like they were trying to make commissioned sales off of the treatment of my dog. They didn’t really seem to care about him. The morning staff was a lot better in terms of making us feel cared about, however I got home and realized the catheter was still in his leg. They were helpful and apologetic beyond that, and I left with free bland diet food. Maybe everyone was just having an off day, but overall the experience was less than great.
My poor baby girl had been sick with feline leukemia for years. Over this week she took a turn for the worse and became REALLY sick on a Saturday night when all vets were closed. We panicked as she grew restless and lethargic, crying in pain. We knew she needed to be put down she wouldnt make it but a few more hours if that. I found this place online and decided it was worth a shot to give them a call. They were so super nice and caring about our situation and I told them we lived about a half hour away and would be there as soon as we could and they told us they would have it all ready for when we arrived so she wouldnt have to suffer any longer. They were so sweet and thoughtful in our time of need, to us and our little princess. They really made the best of a really bad situation for us. We are so grateful for this place. They even had a clinic cat that came and comforted us while we waited for them to wrap her up for us to take home to bury. They were very affordable and even gave us a locket of her hair & a stone with her footprints. If you ever have an emergency this is the place to go. These people genuinely care about pets and their owners. Thank you so much again ❤️
DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE!! Irresponsible does not even begin to explain the extreme negligence they pay towards pets. I just needed a bandage change outside of our normal vet hours and what they did was just completely inexcusable. I hope others have had success in their time in need but if it came to worlds ends card for my pet, I would never come anywhere close to here again. Just unbelievable.
My little dog suddenly got sick and I rushed him to Diley Hill from Athens OH. The drive was worth it because the staff on duty 9pm-12am was efficient, thoughtful, and caring throughout my whole experience. I walked in thinking my dog had suffered a stroke or seizure earlier in the evening and was assessed at the desk and immediately taken to a room to meet a doctor. They did vitals and took my information/story about my dog within 10 minutes of walking in the door. I had called in advanced and the payment method was explained to me immediately, walking in the door and initial assessment is a base fee and as they assess further and understand more about the condition, a review of treatment and signing off on payment incrementally would happen. It was very transparent. The doctor or a nurse came to check on me frequently throughout my dog getting assessed to make sure I was okay, explain what they were finding and to talk me through a course of action. I was finally most impressed by my interest in transferring my dog to a different vet closer to home, which I was nervous would be met poorly, as these places are typically run for the money and can be aggressive. The doctor understood and gave her opinion on doing that, called the vet I wanted to transfer to and scanned over all the x-rays and blood work results they had already run on my pup. I was so grateful at that step and interest in sharing their intel to best support my dogs treatment in the long run.Overall - though expensive (all 24/7 vets are) the staff I had the pleasure of working with were all kind, efficient and clearly cared about my dog and his best interest. Thank you to Dr. Jennifer Crase for her part in caring for my pup.
Little dog got ahold of pill pocket with big dog meds. Called Diley vet, they advised I bring little dog in for charcoal. Pulled into parking spot, called number on sign, they came out to get little dog. Vet tech called a few minutes later to confirm details. Thankfully little guy did not need any treatment. They returned the dog, no charge. Thanks Diley Rd!!!!
I took my 12.5 year old dog in a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday due to her not feeling well. They put us in a room right away to find out what was wrong with her. It ended up being a tumor the size of a cantaloupe and we had to put her down. I just picked up her ashes last night and they put them in a nice wooden box with a name plate on it, her nose print and paw print on two cards and a lock of her hair. The staff was very friendly and I could tell they truly felt what I was going through. I will never go to Med-Vet again. Thank you for being so kind on a very emotional day.
These guys have taken care of one of our dogs twice now in an emergency and each time they have gone above and beyond caring for her. One night they were terribly busy yet my girl got the attention she desperately needed. Knowing that they keep each animal they take in as a priority is the reason we will keep going back to them for those emergency needs!
Our Yorkie woke us at midnight and in obvious stress. We could not wait until our regular vet opened. We thought he had gotten into something that made him sick. I called MedVet and they saw Duke immediately, He was dehydrated, and had a rapid heart beat. They were thorough in what to expect and possible future treatment and they kept him on an I V and thankfully we were able to bring him home at 9 p.m. Thank You MedVet
We live in Georgia but were in Columbus visiting family when we realized GG had a serious problem. Turns out she had a bladder blockage and needed emergency surgery. Yall were so easy to deal with, compassionate, efficient, and communicated very well with us. Check in was easy, the care and instructions were thorough. Were very thankful you were there!
My cat Klaus recently fractured his radius and received emergency care from Diley Hill, both for the initial injury and for follow ups to change his splint when the home vet wasn’t available over Easter. Diley Hill was absolutely amazing every time, particularly Melina (I think that’s her name?). Thanks for helping out my little boy when he really needed it ❤️
If you come here, expect long wait time’s and poor communication. I took my dog here and my wife and I waited for 7 hours in the parking lot. During the wait they sometimes called and basically told us we need to spend money on different treatments to figure out what’s wrong. I still don’t know what was wrong with my dog. I felt like I was dealing with a slime ball car salesman
My IBD cat suddenly developed a loss of balance and incoordination and so we brought him in to Medvet. I have never been to an animal ER, and I wasnt sure of their new covid policy, so when initially calling ahead I asked the receptionist: Is your clinic currently taking walkins? The receptionist responded somewhat condescending this is an ER, so yeah.. It rubbed me the wrong way and that should have been my first bad sign. When we arrived at Medvet it was 5:45pm. I checked in curbside and when I called the receptionist cut me off before I could finish saying I was in the parking lot. Whatever, rude receptionist. We sat in the parking lot until 9pm. The vet tech did most of the phone calls back and forth and was very thorough, but would frequently put me on hold while looking up prices or asking a question. The Vet i spoke to was also very thorough but seemed to be suggesting a lot of unnecessary things. For example, my cat was formally diagnosed with IBD with an ultrasound by my normal vet, and Medvet suggested redoing the ultrasound despite openly admitting she was not certified to do the test? Something along those lines. All and all sounded like more of a money grab. I didnt end up getting any answers, and have to followup with my normal vet- but am out $400. Oh, and despite being in the parking lot for over 3 hours, I wasnt allowed to come into the clinic when I desperately had to pee. Which I understand, covid policy.... but.... come on... I was told to leave and run down the road to Mejier to use their bathrooms. All and all I wont ever be coming back here.
We had to take our Sampson in on Monday. He wasnt feeling well and completely went downhill over the weekend. They kept us informed every step of the way. Although the diagnosis was absolutely devastating, they did everything they could to help us through it. We made the decision to euthanize our guy. They would have let us stay with him all night if we wanted to. I wish I could remember the name of the doctor who treated Sampson. It was all such a fog. She was amazing. When we left the room and went outside to leave, my husband and I were outside trying to get ourselves together. Before we walked to the car, I peaked in the window and found her petting our sweet boy.Thank you guys for all you did for him. And thank you for helping us make his last moments the best they could be.
Id give them 5 stars but I didnt get to see how my Lil Lily Gurl responded to them, how she was treated or what was exactly done to her although the Dr called and told me as I waited out side. I couldnt go in with her (due to this covid thing which is understandable) It was the awfullest thing Ive ever had to do and the waiting was a nightmare till Lily came out. She finally came out and she was OK. The Dr ran test seem to be thorough and honestly I expected a much higher bill then it was.. So Thank you Dr.Crase for making sure my lil lily girl was ok!
After spending $2K for treatment, they could not determine why my pup was struggling. They put him on CHF meds, but one doctor indicated she was not convinced he had CHF. My dog was sent home on Tuesday and died Friday am. After reading about CHF meds, a dog should not be prescribed unless he forSure has CHF, it can be life threatening. I only wish i could back in time and do things differently. I don’t feel the staff at Diley are seasoned enough for all areas. I think if My pup would have been examined by a well educated vet with the experience in all areas ,he may be alive today. I will never take another sick animal to Diley.

2022-06-05I highly recommend this animal hospital to everyone. They are awesome. They treat your fur babies like your kids. Excellent care. My husband and I stayed in the truck all night. One of the staff had brought a pillow in and she offered it to us with some blankets. Thank you for your hospitality. Very good doctor. She has kept us informed about everything. The whole staff was awesome. Again, Thank you and God bless you all. Diana & Kevin Vannoy

2022-07-11I was very happy with the way they treated My Furbaby today. It was a hard decision to let Her go but they were helpful and caring and I so appreciated that today. They gave Me a Paw Print of Hers, which was sweet. And the cost of this service was comparable to My own Vet, who is not available on Sundays, and was on vacation anyway.I will bring My other Furbabies to them when the time comes. ❤️Thank You for making a rough day a little easier.

2021-12-10I have mixed emotions about Diley… the people were amazing but I believe they are unorganized. We brought Diesel in they took him back as soon as we got there. After about 10min I got a phone call asking questions about him at the end the guy said okay we will be out to get him… They already had my dog. Diesel stayed 12 hrs we did get a picture at 6am but never got a call. I called at 10 because I knew they had a shift change. After calling they connected me to a vet she said he was doing great and was biting but was acting fine and she wanted to do X-rays and blood work. I was confused because before we left that night they had done all that and a ultrasound low and beyond they got my dog mixed up….. My dogs health was declining so we had to put him done. Once we made our decision they said the cremation place they used would deliver to use and we made it clear several times we live south. I received a phone call today stating they don’t deliver to my location and I had to drive all the way to Columbus to pick him up. Like I said service was great but the communication was awful.

2022-02-24We absolutely love the love and care our Blu received from them. Our baby apparently ate something toxic and caused her to vomit and have severe tremors and they were amazing with her and us. The girls were even sweet enough to send me pictures of my baby while in their care. I will never go anywhere else for emergency care for my pets.

2022-02-10Excellent team of compassionate and hardworking people at this location. I had a very sick cat and they were very kind and caring through the whole process. Kept me informed with frequent updates on my cats condition and also were very upfront about pricing and treatment options. Ultimately my kitty didnt make it and they were exceptionally caring and kind not only to my cat but also to me. They followed up with a very thoughtful condolence card. This was my first time using an emergency vet clinic and I wasnt sure what to expect. I was very much impressed with the level of care and concern shown by everyone there.

2022-07-04We took our dog Luke here a few years back for a broken leg and this was the closest vet we could find near us, in Ohio. We’re from Texas and we were over the road truck drivers at the time. They let us park a full sized semi truck in the parking just to get our boy fixed up and we couldn’t be more thankful for the best experience here and such great service from the nurses and doctors ❤️ Thank you again!

2022-07-14I loved this place. We went a few days ago for our cat, that we ended up having to put down. They was so sweet and caring with us when it was time and the doctor was very Thorough with him. My only problem was the time we was there. It was almost 7 hours.

2022-06-21Its been since 8 Aug 2021 we had to let our Roxi go. Its still rough living life without her, but I wanted to let you know we really appreciate MedVet Diley Hill during that entire situation! The big bad virus was still lurking and they still allowed myself, my wife, and youngest son with my eldest son on Facetime, to be with her in her final moments. We really appreciated that!! That meant so much to us to be there for her. She was such a great family member for just over 16 years. She couldnt die without us!! She deserved to be loved. You also sent a heartfelt card with her remains. We really appreciated that too!Thank you for your services through that very, very difficult time!Sincerely,The Torrs
