I live in an apartment downtown Columbus, and this is the management company for the building, so not sure if this is the right place. The management is generally pretty good, but sometimes the new neighbors can be loud. Not sure if it is a problem with the building or the people, but either way they should fix it. Maintenance is quick to respond to work order requests.
Renting with ME Realesate was a nightmare. Please do not rent with this company!! Here are a list of things that I would consider inappropriate conduct for a leasing company:1. We sent in a long work order. The apartments had not been cleaned or repaired since the tenants before us. The work order was never fulfilled, and they claimed we never sent one.2. Unjustly took from out security deposit. We spent close to 5 HOURS cleaning the apartment. Even with picture evidence they claimed their “hired cleaning lady” needed an additional three hours. After speaking to the tenants who moves in after us, they confirmed that the apartment had not been cleaned.3. All rooms are not equal sizes. It is illegal to falsely advertise and they have it posted that all rooms are equal sizes.4. My roommates and I were so disappointed with the service and overall experience that we called the company. My roommates and one of their mothers were CUSSED OUT. Despicable behavior from a company that needs tenants to profit.I spoke with my attorney after our lease was up. Each tenants family has also spoken with a legal advisor regarding a potential case against the company. Please please please save your money and time! There are so many great leasing companies, this is just simply not one of them. If you see good reviews, they are usually the companies own employees. Lastly, many of the tenants have spoken out against the company after their experience. All negative google reviews typically get taken down.Please save yourself the hassle and go with better companies!Read all the reviews here and head over to Yelp! If you need more evidence!The last last thing I will say, is that all of their replies are lies. Their “rennovations” are simply a new kitchen decor, nothing incredible. Most leasing companies offer that and much more. There are rodents all over the building, all you have to do is visit the apartment complex to see it.I am continuing this as a response to their comment. Everything you said was a complete lie. We had to purchase and replace the lightbulbs. I have videos and pictures of the apartment after we finished cleaning, I am more than happy to post them. The work order was never fulfilled. If anyone has read this far, please understand that this company makes fake accounts, and leaves 5 star fake review for themselves. They are liars, please do yourselves a favor, and rent with better companies.Theyre not even accredited with the Better Business Bureau, and the two reviews left on the BBB website were 1 star with fairly lengthy lists of complaints.
No problems with this place 👍 Common areas are kept very clean and the staff at ME are friendly and attentive. The units are nicer than all others in the area with similar rates. Trust me I looked. The high ceilings are a major plus because it makes these spaces feel much bigger. Occasional loud noise from the top floor being finished, but other than that the area is surprisingly quiet. Nice eats at Penny’s, Late Night, and others right outside the building. 4 min drive to Short North for anything else. The Kroger in German Village is literally 1 mile away which is very convenient.Only downsides to keep in mind, which mostly come with living downtown, are limited parking and the difficulty of moving furniture in or out. Parking on site fills quickly at night, but once construction is done I believe this will free up some more spaces.Only reason I’ll leave is to buy a house. Cheers!
Do not rent here. The property manager is unbelievably unprofessional and rude. Unless you’re a chick who will “go the extra mile” or smoke some marijuana with him. If you don’t do that, you’re SOL. They allowed drug dealers to live back there as well as not responding appropriately to domestic disputes. Need maintenance to come out? Think again. They have a very slow response time, if any at all. While they will fix the stuff absolutely necessary to live within a month of your initial complaint, they will totally avoid the rest and try to charge you when you move out.
Super suspicious that all of their 1 star reviews disappeared in the last few weeks. I personally left a detailed review months ago when I lived with them detailing how terrible they are, and now its gone. I also had multiple people contact me about similar experiences they had and they had also written reviews, and now theyre gone too.Heres just a short list of some of the main problems I had with them: Disgusting condition when I moved in (including rat traps in my room that they mentioned nothing about), we had to make a 2 page list of things that needed to be fixed and contact them weekly for MONTHS until they fixed it, our garbage disposal was broken when we moved in and they charged us $300 to fix it after telling us they would not charge us, they then cussed out me and then my mom on the phone after we politely called to ask about the random $300 fee on our portal, and to top it off--when we moved out, we cleaned the apartment to a 100x better condition than it was when we moved in and they still took over half of our security deposit. When we asked why they took any of it they basically said there was water damage under the sink, which we literally had pictures of that exact water damage that was there when we moved in that they of course never fixed.I cannot say enough bad things about this company.
ME Real Estate is the worst company by far that I have ever rented with (out of 4 so far). Just listen to the all of the one star reviews and disregard their fake 5 star reviews. The fact that they only have all 1 and 5 star reviews really tells you something. Legitimate companies will also have average reviews lol. Their responses to all of their bad reviews are pretty funny too--they act like theyre emotionally hurt by people stating facts about their terrible company and respond to everything with we strive to provide ___ for our apartments, all of which are newly renovated... Like their renovations make up for their terrible people skills and predatory business practices LOL. Theyre liars and will never take responsibility. I have heard that MULTIPLE people have filed complaints and law suits against them. They dont clean the apartments before move in and will take your whole security deposit stating that you didnt clean (even if you leave your apartment even cleaner than it was when you moved in). Im sorry but a cleaning crew does NOT cost over $300. This company is a joke. To top it off, theyre completely unprofessional and have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They will keep getting away with this because they know most students dont have the time or resources to take legal action. I urge everyone with similar experiences (which is probably 95% of their tenants) to please review them so they can be put out of business and not be able to continue doing these things to other students.
Don’t be fooled by the reviews. They had nothing but one star reviews until every single five star one arrived suspiciously at the same time.Renting with these people was an awful experience. It seems as if their staff is completely incompetent. The first year I tried to renew, I had about 5 email exchanges with an employe who kept trying to get me to sign a less with my neighbors in the same building who had an entirely separate apartment and address. Only after the owner stepped in was i able to sign a lease for a one bedroom apartment by myself.My apartment was infested with rodents when I moved in and they told me they could do nothing about it be reimburse me for traps. They were getting in the structure and living in the walls and this apparently wasn’t a concern for ME. They barge in whenever they feel like it without giving proper notice and usually take way too long to do any repairs that are needed. Please look around elsewhere, and if you have to rent for them for whatever reason, document everything, you’re going to need it.
Where do I begin with this estate company? I subleased at a condo at Ohio State University and the company put me through hoops in order to sublease.The owner was extremely rude and inflexible and constantly made up different excuses and rules that I had to abide by. The internal people in the company were never on the same page so when one person would tell me one thing, another would tell me the exact opposite, it was incredibly frustrating to deal with. Their properties are not that great for the price and if you need anything from them, it is a great burden to get anything done.I truly wish I had read the previous reviews before I subleased and saved myself a whole lot of trouble and stress. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I recommend you look somewhere else for an apartment.
Zero amenities for the price you pay to rent here. No security, my cars have both been vandalized multiple times due to poor camera placement and terrible parking arrangements. Please do your research before renting with them. It’s an absolute hell living here, having to pay as much as I do for rent on my vandalized cars is ridiculous! They need to up their security and parking issues ASAP!
I lived in their building by OSUs campus during undergrad and I cannot say enough good things. It was my first time living away from home and their customer service was just above and beyond. They really took care of me. Accommodations were beautiful, and I really loved growing into my own space. Im so grateful I was able to live with ME real estate.
Great company! Great service! Seeing their responsive, smiling faces was always like getting a puppy on Christmas morning! Excellent at repairs! If I could give 6 stars I would! My favorite part about their service was the sincerity placed behind every gesture. Even when we didnt communicate directly, it was like getting a warm handshake and knowing that everything was in good hands. Thx ME!!!!
A highly unethical company that is to be avoided at all costs. The level of disrespect they have towards their tenants is appalling. I have signed a lease for an apartment under ME Real Estate and provided a security deposit in the amount of 625 dollars. I have provided them with documentation showing proof of income in the form of a stipend I receive from the Navy to attend dental school under a military HPSP scholarship. I was notified several days after that I would need to provide a cosigner in order to finalize the paperwork. Over the next few weeks, I have attempted to reach out through phone, email, and in office visits to obtain the paperwork. Eventually, I finally received a response that the unit had been rented out to a different tenant with no prior notification, and that I would need to forfeit my security deposit per their contract, which states that if I do not have contact with them for 7 days, I would forfeit the deposit. I have made multiple attempts to contact them to no avail in the duration of those few weeks and they have unethically defrauded me of my security deposit.
This has been the only place in town that has had a nice person show me a property nearly on the spot without it being a dump. The place on Elaine seems to be a good value for what it offers and I will be considering it strongly for my move into town. Thank you, Kylie, and thanks to you too, guy who answered the phone and scheduled me a half hour out.
My friends rented from this company for their first off campus housing at OSU. The pictures online made it look like a dream, as I am the one who found it for them. However, when they moved in it was so dirty and unclean it was very surprising. Like many other reviewers on here, the boys had to draw up a list of things that needed to be fixed and replaced once they moved in. However, the main issue Ive had is with my boyfriends bedroom. He somehow does not get air or heat to it, unlucky him as there are six other bedrooms to choose from. Hes sent in work orders several times, one of which was solved when nothing had been done. One guy said it wasnt fixable, another said hed be back to fix it. And nothing has happened. I feel so bad for him having to sleep in a room that is 50 degrees because of the winter season. Overall, just not impressed.
EDIT: Ive wondered if i should leave a 5 star review so that it cant be removed. I check this from time to time just to confirm, and yes this review keeps getting removed.Hi yeah. Im a current tenant. ME definitely has record of that. In my experience, they really are not professional. They have moving deadlines with fees, this I have proof of via email. I was charged a lease renewal fee after moving into my sisters unit she had already been renting, told it eas due at the end of the month, only to be told it eas due on the 15th in a later email.They say as little as possible in any email, which i get. Sure. Whatever. I work in management too for a small company. However it leads me to believe they let the receptionist be a wall of defense for literally any problem i have inquired about.I only say this, because when I called that receptionist had picked up and i asked to speak to one of the managers present. When I was finally called back by one of the managers, i asked him if he was the one I was emailing...only to take that statement back literally 30 seconds into the conversation because he was unaware of what the situation even was. He verbatum said she was the one who manages that inbox.I decided to leave this comment after i noticed a few of the 1 star comments literally dissapear after checking this months later.. and so i decided to leave my own. I wouldnt trust a company that has oddly enough only 1 and 5 star reviews. The 5 stars arent genuine. I know anyone can buy their way into changing their online presence on any platform they choose.I encourage anyone with questions, even YOU ME REALTY to reach out to me directly. I will gladly provide proof of my opposition here.Also too, their responses to the reviews on this show alot about their true colors and how they handle things.-AaronEDIT: They definitely care more about this Google listing than they do relationships with the actual tenants. Contacting them one on one is like pulling tooth and nail. All this company does is employ CYA (cover your @$$) tactics.
Please listen to all of the bad reviews on here. I am an OSU student and would not wish any other student to have to deal with this company. Theyre horrible people and their apartments look nice from the pictures but its not worth it to have to deal with them or to lose your whole security deposit for nothing. Please dont give these people your money.

I should have known not to rent from this company when BOTH times me and my friends tried to tour with them, we got to the property and no one showed up. We called their office and they apparently forgot we had scheduled a tour and had to wait for them to drive there. They are extremely unprofessional, mean, and rude people.

The worst company I ever rented from...Liars ..Crooks and Con Artist....they got mad at me cause I complained about my neighbor sitting trash between our apt and not walking it around to the dumpster...So they refused to do my work orders... our apt been under construction tore up... for a total of three months and trashed...was suppose to be a 5 day job..so the neighbor felt that they could add more trash..So I took pictures and showed them the trash...why I do that ...now I cant get nothing done..Thats o.k..the city can....since its them that making you even do the repairs on the outside.....and Im visually impaired
I have been pretty happy with the apartment and the company. The company that deals with the washers and dryers is a little slow to respond.

The properties are in awful condition and they use predatory business practices, particularly against students. I would not suggest renting from them!

Everything was pretty straightforward, and everything I needed was addressed. Stephanie at the office was a big help, and seemed like she cared.
Tried calling them for hours to get our dishwasher fixed. Their phone system thing keeps dropping our calls.

2022-07-28Listen everyone, don’t rent from these people. Had i realized the red flags before i moved in i would’ve never lived at their property. They took advantage of virtual tours during the pandemic to show me a different “upgraded” unit only for me to show up with all of my belongings to a non-refurbished, not clean, apartment to move into. They then proceeded to charge me for all of my security deposit and more when i moved out for all of the broken and disgusting things that were already there when i moved into the place. Getting a hold of the leasing office for needs was an absolute pain and they acted like they didn’t care, the laundry facilities and hallways of the building were always filthy, and they do an insane amount of various inspections that i’ve never had to deal with at any other apartment i’ve rented. I’ve never had a landlord/leasing company enter my apartment more for reasons outside of my control. Do yourselves a favor and don’t rent from them!

2022-06-14Terrible terrible terrible company. Absolutely never rent from them. I was given an appartment where apparently they had never cleaned before I moved in. Place had a decayed dead mouse under the bathroom sink when I arrived. During my stay, my front door lock had to be replaced, which ok it was done in a timely manner. Their closet was missing a curtain rod for a montb before they got around to it. Also wasnt given a parking pass for 2 weeks past moving it. Then I spent 3 months showering with cold water. I conplained about the water heater constantly and it took them 3 months to figure out the water heater and filter had to be replaced. Power always went on and off. None of the floor boards reached the wall completely so there was always so so so much dirt in the apartment. Hallways look like they needed a paint job for the last 10 years. Front or back door hinge is always broken. They closed the parking lot for a week to do repairs. What they actually did was throw some tar on one strip of the parking lot, didnt fix anything, and left the otherside as is. Worst repair job I have ever seen. Oh and they start using your appartment to show people for months before they even ask you if you are leaving or renewing the lease. Atleast ask before scheduling them. Also they will schedule for 9am Saturday because they dont care that you still live there. For my last month the auto pay stopped working so my rent was late. They refused to have the fees taken off regardless of having a stellar account of always paying on time. When I called the office, I had to leave messages with another company which answers the phone for them 3 times before they actually called back to tell me they cant do anything for the fees. I asked for his manager, he told me he was his own manager. Very very unprofessional. Please save yourself the trouble. Take their 2 start rating on google seriously.Oh and according to another review, they claim that previous employees of theres are not part of the management team if you have a problem with them.

2022-03-15I have been living in one of their townhomes on the Eastside of Columbus Ohio and this is my first place. I have experienced nothing but disrespect by tenants and leasing agent named Avi. I have neighbors who are extremely loud on a daily basis and I have complained about this to the property manager multiple times. They make me feel as though Im being unreasonable and that I am the problem when all I want is peace and quiet !No one has gotten through to these neighbors because they are constantly loud and rude. No one should be uncomfortable, unable to sleep or unable to be at peace in their own home. I have had to change my work schedule due to lack of sleep. I have anxiety and am depressed constantly while living here.I am so tired of filing complaints with this company and getting no results. Avi, the leasing agents told me that Im just looking for problems and asked me if I want to move. Instead of solving the issue he trys to tell me i should leave.I am disgusted and disappointed with this company. They dont seem to care about their tenants and I feel that I am being ignored and treated bad because I have a voucher. I cant wait until my lease is up, I will never rent from these people EVER AGAIN!(Match 13, 2022) Update: On top of everything I wrote, I am now dealing with living with ROACHES!! Having to stay with my mother and stay away from this place. Its ridiculous!

2022-08-06This leasing office is a scam!!! Upon viewing the apartment I walked into two unfinished buildings where the hallways looked a disaster. I was told that the painters just left it not even halfway done and they are looking for someone to finish it, first red flag 🚩! The apartment looked renovated well inside however did not come with a/c window units or central air! I was told that the owner was working on central air in the building but that was a broken promise like the hallways being finished. I still decided to take the agents word on it and went forward with almost signing my lease. I was bamboozled into a negotiation where I was asked what it would take for me to sign a 18 month lease!? This was a second red flag 🚩 🚩! I negotiated the price of a one bedroom for a two bedroom if they provided two wall a/c units. Walking into the leasing office with my daughter in my hands I was almost attacked by a barking German Shepard mix free off of a lesh! 🚩 🚩 🚩 A woman detained the dog and took it away and nobody apologized to me for how it frightened me or my baby it felt VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. The lease was very intense and put almost ridiculous fees and charges and liabilities all on the tenant for renting an apartment! 🚩 🚩 🚩 🚩 I decided to not sign it there to read over it thoughly and make my decision the next day with my deposit already in. I took it upon myself to go to the apartment complex and speak with tenants. There was one current tenant I was able to get feedback from stating there has been BED BUG 🪳 🪳 🪳 issues and that the washer and dryers don’t work properly at all. I was also told by a current tenant that they have been promising central air for 6 months as well as finishing the hallways. She also told me there is sewage issues on the lower level split of the building that causes bad odors. All red flags 🚩 🚩 🚩 🚩 🚩!!!! The day I was supposed to return the lease and ask for my deposit back nobody answered or was at the office. I texted them I respectfully DECLINE and was told the unit I held through a deposit was already leased! Lol I can’t make this up and I would not waste time on making this review. BEWARE OF ME REAL ESTATE 🏚!

2022-03-08Save yourself the time and headache from leasing from this company. I have never had a worse experience with a landlord, and I would even argue that this is the worst leasing company in Columbus. This is a company owned by investors in Israel where they have hired out all positions to run and lease their units, and buildings. This management team is impossible to get ahold of (after your lease is signed), and will not respond to your service requests, while still updating your account balance, and charging you for rent. I currently live in one of their speakeasy lofts where we have had two broken washer machines for the last 6 months, and the first washer has been out of service since January 2021. Amongst countless other issues, this team continues to neglect their tenets requests and blames all issues on being understaffed, and shipping delays. On the off chance you do receive a response from this company they act uninformed or even unaware of the issues, hence the laundry machines that havent been working for almost 7 months. This company loves its excuses, and will consistently use their famous line we understand your frustration, when truly they dont care and will put the bare minimum effort in to resolve it. The first service request put in for our laundry machines was in January 2021, then in February 2021, continuing until October where we were told thank you for informing us about this new issue, which was not new. We finally received an email on November 11th stating they have ordered new machines and they should arrive in the next 3-4 weeks, they never arrived. We were told there was a delay and we should get the machines on February 17th. The machines didnt arrive once again, and we were told the new expected delivery date was March 1st. It is now March 8th and we have not received any information on the status of the new machines. The moral of the story and review is to show how awful they treat their tenets, I could give hundreds of ofter examples of how awful they are but I am done wasting my time with them. These apartments may look nice but they arent worth the hassle, I cannot wait to never have to deal with this company again.

2022-08-08I had a very unprofessional experience with this company. I initially was very excited based off of how the inside of the unit looked upon my arrival. Aside from appearance there is nothing else good to say. I believe signing a lease with ME real estate would have been the worst choice I could have made.

2022-03-15I’ve lived in my apartment for years now. We’ve gone through a few rental companies since the owners sold, but this one is by far THEE worst. Instead of conducting business as they should, they use their own feelings and thoughts of you against you when it comes to maintenance issues. Since they’ve taken over, there have been no upgrades made to the properties at all, yet they raise the rent repeatedly. If they feel they don’t want to deal with you, they will block you from contacting them and then say they don’t ‘do things like that’. They will tow your vehicle if you’re a tenant quicker than they would someone who is not supposed to be parked in the lot. If you don’t give them permission to enter (which I never do) they will make you wait forever to respond to your repeated requests, that’s of course after they say they never got the memo. The landscaper one of the previous rental companies used is EXTREMELY better than the group of guys (2nd group) they have come take up the driveway and do a half job now. Speaking your mind and expressing your concerns will definitely have you with leaking faucets or a flooded basement for weeks. Do not recommend.Moral of the story, if you want something done right do it yourself!Also, take a look at their responses to other honest bad reviews. Even if a person isn’t legally supposed to be living in one of their properties, that doesn’t mean they don’t see how bad the company is. Quit making excuses for everything. You’ll get a response from a bad review quicker than you would a maintenance request, and that is how they roll. Ha!Edit (after their response): Identifying reviewers is not the issue. The issue is not conducting business in a professional manner, which seems to be very common with this company. Wether 1 or 5 previous rental companies, the feedback remains the same.

2021-04-07Terrible place to stay in my upmost honesty. I’ve lived in many apartments and I’ve never had more problems than in this one. It’s run down and there’s trash everywhere for a start. Between the problems with the property and the treatment we’ve gotten from the property manager and leasing office I dont know what’s worse. They are unprofessional and seems more like dealing with high school drama than professionals. Stay away if you want to live somewhere in peace; or even if you want to live your life without complaint about what your doing on a daily basis, the paper mâché walls causes complaints like crazy it’s at a different level than I’ve seen anywhere in else I’ve been and it’s absolutely maddening.

2020-08-28I am on my second year of a lease with ME realty. They have always been very responsive to emails and the maintenance is incredible. We toured one other place with them that was not very nice but the place I live in is newly renovated and bright inside for a good price. There are not enough parking spaces for everyone and that has been an inconvenience living here. They are also not the kindest in their email responses sometimes and assume before knowing the situation that it was our mistake. They also lack in answering phone calls, but are responsive to email. Overall I have had a good experience.

2021-09-21Currently living in one of their properties and never will again. they have constantly blamed and even charged us for drainage issues when the pipes in the basement are literally not even secured together and are made of cheap PASTIC. please think about going through other real estate agencies in columbus before ever considering this one. they are an absolute joke and you will not be satisfied
