Its a small hidden gem that should be on the list of rainy day destinations. Very economical option for anyone looking for an inexpensive way to get the kids out of the house. Very cool science center and natural history section. The history of President McKinley is very interesting. The street of shops is a walk back in time.
The McKinley Memorial is home to Cantons A Monumental 4th celebration which is fun for people of all ages. There is always a concert T the base of the monument and the fireworks take place right behind the monument providing an excellent background for this magnificent structure.
Im so glad to have this beautiful park in my back yard. The trail runs from behind my home all the way through mothergoose land, waterworks, and monument. My family and I enjoy walking and spending anytime we can together here. Picnic tables and playgrounds along the way to take breaks. Childrens garden is lovely.
This historical site is extremely well maintained and nothing short of beautiful. Hats off to the crew that obviously work so hard to keep everything perfect. I normally have a hard time giving up that fifth star and well, I just dont but, these folks deserve to be appreciated. So *****A must see if you visit Ohio. Lots to see.
The McKinley Monument and adjoining park have always been a cool place to hang out or get in some exercise. I used to run the steps to the monument quite a few times. The views are nice on top although the actual monument part is rarely open now. The museum is not lengthy but still fun to go through. Its definitely a unique place and nice to have in Canton.
If you are into history this place is just great. If youre into the outdoors, this place is in a beautiful setting next to a park. There is also the McKinley Museum and Historical Society Museum at the same location and its a great way to spend a few hours on a hot summer afternoon.
We came here on my daughters spring break. I was actually surprised at how much stuff they have to offer kids to do. There were many hands on activities as well as a few shows on different things. There was the planeterium show that was pretty cool. We did not climb all the stairs up to the monument but would definitely go back an do it again.
There was so much more to this museum than we ever expected! So many interactive historical and scientific displays that we couldnt possibly interact with them all in the 2.5 hours we were there. The planetarium is open only on weekends so we didnt see that but there was still much left to see on a return visit. A definite go-back!
A nice little museum about Stark county and the late President McKinley. Small gift shop. They feature the latest in technology and machines from the past. Home of the presidential library. Admission is charged and membership is available. Limited close parking. Lots of room to take a walk and climb the stairs to the mausoleum. Great views from the top. Canton city park next door.
They have a nice dog park by 6th Street thats why I went there let my dog run free & then take him for a walk. But remember you cant take your dog to the monument, youll see a sign right as you go in.no dogs allowedyou can walk them in the park but you cant take them into the monument area.
Been coming to this park my whole life. Good place for running the monument steps, feeding ducks, or riding bikes! I even remember when mother goose land had a petting zoo... Glad they got that up and running again, wish theyd make it a petting zoo again! Follow me on ig @pedroyespedro ✌
Do yourself a favor and visit the superbly built McKinley monument. A popular place to exercise outdoors and people watch. Dont forget to visit the well executed museum. There is also a long rubberized walking track that circles the ponds. Meet friends, plan a picnic, play soccer, and enjoy the outdoors. Open dawn to dusk.
Clean & well maintained. The markers do a good job of explaining the architecture of the site and some details of its construction. Inside the mausoleum, there is enough information about President McKinley to give his life context and provide a starting point for discussion with a friend if youre inclined. There are usually a few dozen people using the steps and sidewalks for exercise, and everyone seems courteous to each other and respectful of the fact that this is both a monument and a tomb.
The geese have over- taken our parks ! Play areas , walking paths are all covered in poo. The creek water is disgusting with trash and algea and also fallen tree debris. I visit other states and their Parks put ours to shame. Canton seems like it just doesnt care anymore. Trash on every street, on the highway, and in our parks now too.

2020-09-06Whenever I come back home to visit my hometown Canton, where I spent 35 of my 48 years, this is one place I always make a point to visit especially for exercise. So far, 5 generations have enjoyed this place. This specific location is great for individuals, families, groups, couples, kids, and even furry pets. There are many things to do here. Those who enjoy history can observe the tomb, couples can have romantic picnics, children (including furry ones) and parents can play Frisbee in the center or slid down the steep hill, exercise enthusiasts or beginners can tackle the steps, and photographers can capture beautiful pictures during all 4 seasons. This is a must see for those visiting Ohio.

2022-04-02Massively appreciating the updated landscaping. From a photographers perspective, the way the sun sets on the whole park (behind a western hill), golden hour shots are easy peazy.

2019-09-22We had a great time people climb the stairs like Rocky thats quite amazing! We just have a very good time when werent able to go inside it wasnt during the hours were they have the tours available which kind of sucked but as I said we walked around the entire structure and visited other places in this very large intricate Park. Great place for your children there is a restroom however its not accessible unless its during the touring hours
