McAlisters Deli in other cities:
Let me start by saying, Im not expecting perfection when dining out. Nonetheless, rude and unprofessional service is unexcuseable! ( especially when I spend 30.00 for a salad and sandwich/soup for lunch)Loud unpleasant chatter among employees and the person who took the order should have called off instead of treating customers like an inconvenience!Food was hot and tasty, but the lack of respectful customer service left a bad taste on the restaurant, staff, and overall experience.
First of all, I will say that the food is good. I have never had anything bad tasting from McAlisters. However, twice now we have had an issue with orders. First, one of my co-workers found the rubber piece of an ear bud sitting next to her sandwich and today, July 15th, I found a large hair sticking out of my sandwich! They took my name for a free sandwich but not sure I will be returning for more food. This is the Miller Lane location in Dayton, OH
Vary Rude I asked for a straw cause there was only 2 and there was 3 of us so the girl rolled her eyes and gave me 2 more. I got a New Yorker and I don’t really care for the brown spicy mustard so I ask can I have yellow mustard instead the cashier says hold on let me look she goes back to a little bag and I see yellow mustard and I’m thinking ok good she comes back as says we don’t have any I’m thinking bruh what the he🏒🏒 what ever she says to my mother what do youu want just very rude food was not great so don’t recommend have fun if you go JUST FYI They have Coke products if you care
Asked for my roast beef sandwich to be hot, and the first one I received had only the bread toasted with the roast beef still cold, not a big deal. When I returned to correct my order, I asked that my meat be HOT. They made me a new sandwich, but again, it was toasted bread and the meat was still just as cold.
Although the management has improved tremendously over the past 2 years, their quality assurance of to-go orders is consistently poor. Todays to-go order was missing a side of chips and a gallon of tea, which I had to ask for. Ive stopped using DoorDash for deliveries because of too many times they didnt put the gallons out with the order. They really need to reassess their quality assurance program for customers not dining in.
I love Their Italian Sub. But am very disappointed that in a place like this that They dont even have Italian dressing. Because of that I will not be ordering the Italian again. Also got a Chef Salad which was good but the amount of Meat and Peppers where no where near enough to match up with all the Greens. Which is over $10 for some Greens and not a bunch of Meats.
The food is really good. But I cannot in good conscience give a lunch meat sandwich a 4. But the staff did make the experience worth the visit. As one of the first 2 people in the restaurant we were able to ask all kinds of questions. The staff knew the menu and had answers for us quickly. One item came out luke warm. They didnt throw it in a microwave. They made it again. It came out piping hot and fresh. Their strawberry lemonade is so thirst quenching good that I had to pace myself or I would have just kept drinking. By the time we were done the place was filling up quickly with customers. If you like potato soup I recommend you try theirs with your sandwich. The spuds are huge and you can load them up almost anyway that you want. But you better have an appetite for it. Come enjoy a good meal. Way better then some other sub places that I will not mention in any way hahaha. Keep up the terrific job!!!!!
Very friendly service. The food was okay. I think we picked the wrong items. We ordered salads and a kids french bread pizza. The salads were good, but not spectacular. The kids french bread pizza was replaced with a 5inch microwaved pizza that wasnt very good. Quite expensive meal for 2 salads and a kids meal.
-Loaded potatoes are yummy.-$13 salad with thinly sliced cold chicken… not so yummy-$6 kids pizza made with something other than pizza crust… disappointing and thrown in trash-My teen wanted grilled cheese but we had to order the melt with no Swiss or tomato. The problem was that they didn’t add extra of the other ingredients to make it a full sandwich. LOL really?! You’re a deli: Offer plain old grilled cheese.-Flavored teas are great.-$50 meal for three people (adult, teen, child) with mediocre food… no thanks.
I usually dont write negative comments. But today I purchased a sandwich from McAlisters and it was missing the condiments and avocado that are listed and promised. They also skimped on the turkey, lettuce,a dn tomatoes. Good thing we had mustard from White Castle from earlier in the day. They also have a bait and switch in the listed on the menu board it reads that sandwiches come with one side. What isnt listed is that this only includes Some of the sides and that others are Not included and you have to pay extra for those sides. This is simply misleading.Next time Im there, Ill inspect the sandwich to see what is missing before heading out. Better yet, Ill look for Firehouse Subs.
Place an online order, obviously the employees can not read as they made my specific order whatever they felt like. Ordered king club, asked for no mustard and extra mustard was added, ordered potato soup, asked for a bread bowl, got a hard serverly overcooked rock loaf bread, asked for nachos no avocado no jalapeños add chicken and extra cheese, got nachos with jalapeños and chicken and no extra cheese and no black olives. Only thing they got right was the potato salad and the Italian wrap. I loved this place, top on my sandwich list, but last two times Ive been the order is never right. Guess Ill be finding a new sandwich shop.
The blonde one who works here is so rude and acts like a kid. I sat in here waiting for almost a hour for a doordash order while the workers are sitting talking about sushi. Unprofessional. Doesn’t wear uniforms. Talks and giggles while peopling are waiting for they’re food. Bad customer service. Didn’t get greeted when I came in
First of all I want to start off by saying that the food here is absolutely delicious. I recommend the pick two you get value, and a delicious meal everytime. although this is not the reason for my review. moments ago i had a message come through asking if I was at Mcalisters yesterday, in which was. The GM Brandon took the time to track me down on facebook to let me know they had found my debit card. This by far is above and beyond service. These leadership qualities show in the resturant in which is always clean, organized, and the service is spot on and always in a timely manner.Thank you Brandon and to your team!
I had a wonderful experience there on Monday. I went with an old friend and my son. The women who took my order was very kind and nice. She brightened my day. Then, I believe it was the manager, he asked me if my son could have sweets. I told him yes, then he asked my son if he was offered a cookie, and let him pick out a cookie. I got a club wrap and it was delicious. My son was so happy he got Mac and cheese and a cookie, and I got to catch up with a wonderful friend. I will definitely be back again.
Food good, but very unorganized and slow service.Visited on Sunday evening at 7pm. About 6 other patrons in restaurant. Walked in and counted 12 dirty tables. Clerk had difficulty ringing us up and person after. I watched our order and one other order come out wrong. Watched patron bring back in the wrong take out order. With very few people inside, service was quite slow. Counted 5 people in kitchen and 2 working the dining room.Again, food was good, and hopefully this was an off night for typical service.
Totally disappointed because love McAllisters, but today it was awful. The fruit was not ripe plus whoever cut it up didnt do a great jobUnfortunately the rind was still attached. I ended up not eating it but had to pay for it.My McAllisters club was blan tasting and very dry. Almost as if the possibility was that of a newbie not knowing the ropes yet. I said something about the meal but nothing was done about it. My feelings are hurt now and its going to be a long time before I go back. Im giving a 1 star because I wasnt the only one that complained about the food quality and service. One lady stood around for 45 min and they didnt even make her food so she at least got a refund.
Their chili apparently doesnt have beans in it.. Just ground meat and spices it seams. Personally, I feel like all chili should have beans in it and that the beans are part of what makes it chili. Other than the lack of beans in my chili (if you can even call it that) everything else was good.. Ill keep coming but will never get that slop again.
The sandwiches here are absolutely amazing. Freshly cut meats and and other surprisingly fresh ingredients. Table service was included. Definitely targeted at the need for upscale catering services in the area, but a nice casual eatery as well. Paneras in trouble with this one!
The food was ok. It took to long. The cheddar broccoli soup was made at the beginning of the order and sat on the counter until the other food was done 25 minutes later so it was just warm. Alot of items were forgotten, just not double checked. Asked for extra pickle got none, asked for mustard on the side got none. All this was listed on the receipt correctly just not checked. Got a brownie but the bag was not sealed just folded down so it actually tasted stale and was a little hard. The brownies are my favorite thing so a little disappointed with that. Alot of the dashers were standing around waiting on orders so it was a bit conjested.
I was really looking for a chicken salad sandwich, which they were out of and then I was looking for some raspberry iced tea which I like, and they were out of the raspberry, instead, I ordered a four cheese sandwich which fell a little flat oh, the cheese was okay but look like slices just piled on the bread and then of course cooked but not toasted together, generally I like McAlisters its a nice place, well-kept and clean however I think I caught them at a bad time in mid-afternoon when the interest was lagging however the manager explained he was somewhat short on help those lacking in the inventory of the things I was looking for. The meal was well bag and Care was taken to package at well I asked for a drink carrier in the drink carrier was not in stock either, my wife got a turkey sandwich club with all turkey which turned out to be decent and two sides mac and cheese and was looking for noodle soup but they were out of noodle soup and had chicken and dumpling soup which was okay as a substitution. The general everything was okay and the manager was very happy and cooperative and the workers were smiling and all was well.
I walked in to your Miller lane store and the clerk behind the counter never said a word (no welcome to or how may I help you nothing); I had to say I was there for a pickup order. She looked at the bag on the shelf by the front door and asked if I was Doordash and I saw my name and said that was my food and she walked away and I had to grab my own bag. This is the second time I visited this location one curbside today I entered and it made me say Ill never visit this store again. The customer service isnt good and she needs to be trained and redirected to her behavior.
The first thing I noticed was how clean the restaurant was. Secondly, I was greeted almost immediately. My order was taken by the manager Brandon, who was very polite and courteous. As I waited for my order the staff members said hello and asked if I had been helped. My order was done within 5 minutes. I was thanked by at least 2 employees on the way out. Great service and a great team. Awesome job, McAllisters Miller Lane!
Food is oretty good. But this is the second time in 2 weeks I’ve tried to call and their phone doesn’t work. Also I ordered a strawberry shortcake. It was at least 3.99. Menu pic and description said it included strawberries on the side. NO strawberries. When I went in to ask they said manager opted out if strawberries bc too expensive. The piece of cake was about half the size of in the pic and if where I can buy elsewhere for same price. It also said cookies $2.85 which is high. However little sides $2 And side salad 2.29 are well priced.
This was the first time here. We went during off hours, so we we did not wait to place our order. Was a little pricey, but the food ended up being very tasty. I debated between 3 or 4 stars because I like to watch the workers and how the customers interact with them. Lots of workers with nothing to do because lots of cell phones were in use. I had to go back in because they forgot our drinks. What I saw was a clean restaurant with decent food. I would come again but I will not make a specific effort to come again.
Great sandwiches, spuds, side dishes. All sorts of sandwich options. And YES, they have Gluten-free bread!Regular tea and sweet tea are great! And free refills on all drinks. (In fact, when you eat in, there is a flag, you can put up to say Refill please!)My personal preference is for the Reuben on gluten-free bread, with potato salad as a side!Portion sizes are generous.Go ahead and pile on the veggies and spices, because just before leaving you can pop in the rest room, and take advantage of the complimentary mouth wash! This is a very popular place, and you can wait a bit, at peak times. For pickup, they also have an app that can speed up that process.
Darn! We were driving through on Sunday, July 22 @ 1pm on our way to Nashville and wanted a quick lunch to eat in the car.Shannon greeted us, was kind, helpful and efficient. Beyond that good experience, nothing much good happened. When I ordered, my daughter ordered immediately after. My order took over 20 minutes and was mediocre at best. My daughters order took another 15 minutes and was missing part of the ingredients. These were just sandwiches! Nothing difficult, nothing that needed great preparation. The service was slow, uncaring and disorganized. The kitchen seemed either extremely disorganized or understaffed, and no one cared.I drive through Dayton often, I wont be back EVER.
The food was ok. I had a garden salad and a chicken club sandwich. The sandwich was slapped together without much concern and it showed. There was a dime sized amount of honey mustard and a few overcooked pieces of turkey. I could have overlooked that but the girl who waited on us was extremely uninterested in waiting on is and was very rude. I will not come back to this location again
My food has always been really good here. There was one time that my wifes order came out wrong, but luckily the server who brought out our food from the kitchen was the store manager. When we pointed out the problem the manager corrected the mistake quickly and gave her some extra bacon on her BLT and offered her sincerest apologies.I wish that they served their vegetable soup every day of the week, because it seems the days that I choose to get lunch here, they many times do not have it available to order, just a bunch of other soups that are not that great.
First time experience was awesome! Cant believe its taken me years to finally try this place out! Portions are well sized for the money, everything was so fresh tasting. Make sure you arrive before 1PM on Sunday, line goes out the door, especially being spring/summer now. After church and kids sports, this place got packed quick! Oh, and the JustASpud potatoes is clearly sarcastic. Ive never seen a potato so big, I legit thought it was two potatoes but it was just one split and cut in half. Like I said, huge portions!
This was my first visit here. The food was OK and so was the staff. Im just disappointed that I didnt realize the line formed on the left (we also werent the only people to come through the exit) and the guy at the counter never said anything, just took other customers before us. When I did order I asked him twice if they could leave the honey mustard off the sandwich. I get home and theres honey mustard 🙁
The food is overpriced and overrated. I got an Italian sub with a cup of potato soup and water for about $12. The sub was way too big to fit in my mouth so it completely fell apart before I was even half way done. And to make matters worse, there were zero napkins to be found. I had to go wash my hands in the bathroom since I didn’t feel like waiting in line again for one.As for the quality of food... It was fine but I’d prefer Firehouse or Penn Station. Both would have been cheaper and just as good.
Food was good as usual, however I was very disappointed when my husband pointed out the expiration date of a piece of cake he had gotten. It was expired and had been for around 18hrs. It’s terrible that they’d have looked at the date while bagging food see that it’s expired and still be handing them out to customers.
Love the sandwiches, soup and salads at lunch time. Even when busy, the line at McAlisters goes quickly. Staff are nice and helpful. Seating is adequate but it would be nice if there was more space. Ironically, the McAlisters at Dayton Mall had great space but I noticed recently has closed down. I guess the business there couldnt sustain the restaurant. Too bad. Glad to have the Miller Lane restaurant and look forward to every visit. Great food!!!
I walked in and told them I had never been at the place before. They told me specials, recommended crowd pleasers, and explained the menu and different options. Everyone was friendly and sweet. I ordered and it took barely any time for the food to arrive at my table. Everything tasted fresh. Soup was hot. Everything was perfect! I cant wait to go back in the future!
My friends & I enjoy our McCallisters experience often. The food is very good with gluten free items offered. We especially enjoy the times when Wanda is working, as she is always so personable & efficient. She obviously takes her job to heart. Not true in so many instances with others.
I have ordered here once through GrubHub and it was good. My family and I decided to place an order on our way home. I walk in and no one says anything. I assumed that the young man staring at me could help. Once I paid for my order I was standing there waiting for my food and I see a guy come in from outside walk over to a rack, take a bag and walk out. I turn to the cashier and ask if my food would be there too. Not really sure what his reply was I walked over to the rack. My food was sitting there.THE SERVICE HERE IS TERRIBLE! I will never return to McAllisters on Miller Ln.
Sorry I am sure it was just a off day there but my first visit will be my last visit. I would like to say though when sharing my dislike for my experience lots ( 5 or 7) of friends, family, and coworkers said that they have not had the same experience in the past. . So again I am sure it was just a off day for staff but we had to wait way to long and paid too much for our meals.
Was not a good experience. The servers and ordering staff were rude. We stood at the front counter for like 5 minutes before anyone even minded to take her order. The chili was like something that came out of it generic can. The meat on the Reuben was tough and there was almost no sauerkraut or cheese on the sandwich. We will not be returning to McAlisters ever.
My angus spud was so disappointing. I was told they didn’t have caramelized onions and I was told I could substitute red onion but the spud showed up with no onions and barely any meat or cheese and 1 butter. The staff was friendly but their service was terrible. The young man running food spent a lot of time pulling up his pants.
Went to have dinner at approx 8:20 first stepped in to door to some saying we are about to close, then walk up to counter and was told that they would only wrap food to go. Google even says that a person average stay is only 45 min. So I guess you dont want a family of 6 to gave dinner at your restaurant.... I have loved your place since it opened but feel like we were treated poorly tonight because your manager wanted to lock the doors when you publish that you close at 9pm or 10pm depending on rather look at web site Google or facebook you take customers until then... bad customer service
We have gone to this location more than any other Mcalisters. We have been to the Richmond, Indiana location a few times. We have noticed the sandwiches are quite a bit smaller at the Miller Lane store than they used to be. The Richmond store hasnt changed their sizes at all. So needless to say we are very disappointed.
Let me tell you about my recent trip to McCalisters Deli on Miller Lane today. Not often you hear the good reviews, so I would like to tell mine.I recently just got out of the hospital Saturday afternoon 9/2 and I have not had the appetite to eat anything. Today 9/4 is Labor Day. I, still feeling weak felt I should probably try to eat something before I ended up back in the hospital. Rewind to this morning, after waking up and finding our our daughters rabbits has passed away, our daughter chose to go to McCalisters for lunch. Now, anyone who knows me, knows that I can not go ANYWHERE without someone messing up my order. I cant have cheese, they put cheese on my sandwich, I ask for no pickles, I get a pickle etc. Always, my orders are never right. So we order our food and I order a half King Club (which is double the size of the McCalisters club. A sandwich our daughter always gets) with half a potato. When the order comes I realize that my half sandwich is the same size as my daughters. I go back in to order another half bc its clearly not going to fill me up. As I reach the counter, my fiance walks in and tells me that they forgot our sons mac and cheese. I let the cashier Ms. Wanda know. At this point she can tell Im upset but Im willing to pay for the extra half sandwich. She then preceded to tell me that she will handle it. 5 minutes later, she comes out with the Mac and cheese and a fresh, whole sandwich, free of charge. She said that She could tell in was upset. They have a new person training in the back and she appreciated me being understanding. She just hope it brighten my day a little bitI cried right there. You dont find custome service like her or this establishment anymore. I was very willing to pay but she took it upon herself to handle it by treating the customer to make their day better! We are 100% McCalisters customers for life and if ANYONE wants to know of a great sandwich place to eat with the best customer service around, I will always recommend this place! Very grateful for Me. Wanda and all the employees there.
Actually, there are two sides to this review...Stopped in with 12 people on Saturday evening....based upon a recommendation from our son...There were at least 12 empty tables that had not been bussed...and not many patrons......We were told that staff had called off or went home...So we left....Tried it for lunch the next day...It was clean and efficient, good was great...Maybe a management problem at this location.
The prices are good. Ordering line is slow. You may or may not get what you ordered; it may or may not be what you expected; you may or may not get a full set of silverware; you may or may not get the slice of lemon that you asked for in your water. All said, we keep coming back!
Dont tell customers youll bring their food out to them if you dont even go out the front door and look for their car. After 20 minutes I had to go back in where they claimed they couldnt see my car (literally parked directly in front of the front door to the restaurant). Terrible Customer Service.
Went in with my familly last Saturday, restaurant was practically empty at 5:30 in the afternoonAfter not being greeted I asked the girl wiping down tables for a highchair for my son at which time i was brought a booster seatAfter we choose a table we proceeded to go order and look at the menu, there were 2 girls at the counter one was closer to us and almost immediately walked over to the other girl to say something and then went away. After about 5 mins of looking at the menu, and still not being acknowledged by anyone I decided that if the staff showed this much enthusiasm in their service than perhaps they take that much enthusiasm in preparing the food, at that point I understood why the restaurant had only 1 customer in it at 5:30pm on a Saturday , I left without ordering
First when I got there I ordered a water with our food when I sat down I seen something floating in my water it was a fruit fly so he gave me another water after swaying away a fruit fly once we received our Food halfway into it there was a FRUIT FLY in my food after telling the Manager he said theyve being spraying for fruit flys no Im Sorry or Nothing I told him We would NOT be returning to this McAlisters because thats Nasty If Anyone EATS HERE CHECK YOUR FOOD FOR BUGS....

2022-04-13The staff was friendly, prompt and attentive. The meals were enough to feed everyone another meal for later. I ate half the potato (which was basically two of them together) and half the sandwich. They didn’t short me on any of the fixings and the sides were very tasty as well. The chili is thick and the service at dinner time was quick.

2021-12-04Outstanding service and staff, clean throughout, well organized, and the best salad I have ever had!Stopped in on a Friday night at McAlisters Deli. We walked straight up to the counter with no wait. We were greeted immediately by a man named Terrence who I have to say is outstanding at his job. He is polite, patient, well spoken, and very friendly. He was quick to take our order and gave us our number to place at the table for when our food was ready.Within 10 minutes we had our food brought out to us. I ordered the full size Savannah Chopped Salad which was amazing!!! It is loaded with grilled chicken, dried cranberries, Gorgonzola, honey roasted almonds, tomato and cucumber on mixed greens. It comes Sherry Shallot dressing on the side. The salad itself was so good I didnt even use the dressing. My wife got the pick 2 which are half portions and got the half size Savannah Salad and Spicy Turkey Melt. She said it was fantastic. All for just under $20 total.I would not hesitate to recommend McAlisters to anyone. Not only for their fantastic, reasonably priced food but incredible service. Thank you to Terrence and all the other staff working the evening of 12/3/21. Great job!

2022-03-16I have ordered food from here at least 2 times a month for the last two years and I give 5 stars! The sandwiches are amazing (Ive tried them all) and their potato soup is the best. If you like baked potatoes, this is the place! They are HUGE, well cooked, and toppings are generous. One of my go-to places to take out

2022-05-07Overall good. Ordered a wrap. Outer edges of wrap were dry so I picked some off. Let them know before I left so they could check their stock. They offered to make another but I had already eaten it :) it was still delicious. Suggestion would be to have slices of cucumber and tomato for wraps and sandwiches instead of chunks. Just my preferences perhaps others feel the same. The person I spoke to at the end was kind. So overall good experience.

2022-07-14Save this McAlisters please! We dont want it to close! The smell of rotten eggs permeated every aspect of the restaurant. They say they cant get any lemons. It was not clean. The staff was wearing what they wanted. To our sorrow the tea tasted strange. Once upon a time this was a clean place with great tea. The staff was efficient wearing clean khakis and polo shirts. It WAS amazing. Please fix this place to its former glory.

2021-10-16McCalisters club is great! The service is exceptional! I love that you can go inside and sit down and order from the app. How cool?! We were able to do a working lunch with ease and didnt have to lug our laptops to the line. The dumplings arent bad but I would choose another soup. They are all sooooo good. The staff was super friendly and attentive. It was almost like having wait staff.

2022-07-17Door has hours posted until 8pm. Doors were locked at 7:36pm when I tried to open the door. Their website stated they were open until 9pm and that is why I made the trip from Troy. I have no issue with the food and this is why I made the trip.

2022-04-30Sadly waited 25 minutes while the familys lunch got cold. While there seemed to be plenty of staff, they seemed swamped although there was no line to speak of. At least the order was accurate.
