What a great experience! Incredible food and service and a cozy vibe. We had the mozzarella appetizer (amazing) and then shared the the butternut squash ravioli (omg) and then shared the tenderloin (so good!). I recommend sharing, you get to try so many flavors. I also think sharing made it not as heavy or overly rich by having too much. We had Romario as a server, and he was awesome!
A fabulous and filling evening. Drinks came out quickly and were made to perfection. Could have been my group but we really enjoyed each course. We each got something different and almost all plates were cleared.A surprise dessert platter came at the end just when I thought I couldnt take another bite. This evening left us all feeling special. We had a couple shoe mishaps on the way over and needed bandaids.. maybe too many.. Definitely made for a memorable evening. Thanks for being so accommodating!
Recommend by a friend took my wife here for her birthday took 15 minutes to get water not even busy forever on our drinks dint even put in our appetizers so meals came out. ask if iwas was coming outthey were like our bad now I like Carmon Mitchells restaurants but I will never eat at this one again food you can go to a food cart and get better food even dessert was a soggy mess now understand while they are never booked
Reading other reviews I was expecting a better experience. The food wasn’t bad. I thought it was just average. I was hoping the Cameron Mitchell name would have elevated the food to a five star level. I went on a Thursday so maybe it was an off night for the kitchen. *update - I had stomach cramps on my drive home and throughout the night.
We had a very nice time at Martinis last night but at 4 A.M. my wife woke up feeling very ill. She had eaten the prawns for dinner and something was bad with them. She said they tasted fine but they must have had some kind of bacteria. Shes recovering today and I know this can happen anywhere but it really put a damper on our memory. Also of note: while the service was good and the food was excellent the martinis we had before dinner left a lot to be desired. I make far better ones at home for a lot less than $12 each.
6 people were in our group. Staff were not friendly except for the greeter. Food was brought out at separate times for our group. 2 dinners, then 10 minutes later 2 dinners, then 5 minutes later the last 2 dinners. Food was cold, lasagna meat sauce was burnt, calamari was cold and soggy, bread was stale. Waitress was completely disinterested. I love the Cameron Mitchell restaurants, but this experience was so bad I felt obligated to review. Very disheartening. I understand staffing can be an issue for serving the dinners, but would expect a place like this to have their food quality on point.
The best food in Columbus! incredible Italian dishes. we got the chicken parmesan, mushroom ravioli, and the penne alla vodka. our waiter Romario was AMAZING. he was so helpful and friendly! it’s on the pricey end but so so worth it. we will definitely be coming back!
Picked this place on a whim for a date night. Linda our server was the highlight. Shes truly a gem there and if you make a reservation, try and ask for her section if shes working. To be honest, the chicken piccata was way overpriced for what it was. Dont get me wrong...it was delicious and I ate it all but for chicken and substitute alfredo noodles, it was 31 dollars. I tried my wifes sweet potato ravioli and it was amazing. Especially with the added pepper flakes for contrast. The bruschetta was unlike any weve had before and was a great appetizer. We had a nice side table next to a graduation party that had a rowdy 1 year old but other that, we enjoyed our time. May be awhile before we come back, but thats just because of all the options Columbus has to offer.
This restaurant has been great for a long time.If you are looking for veal, their options are among the most carefully prepared in town.Great ambiance, both at lively bar with windows looking down Vine and High Street or sitting under the beautiful chandeliers in the dining area.Awesome experience
We went to Martini and absolutely loved it! The food was amazing with great service, and the atmosphere was very enjoyable. The mozzarella appetizer is wonderful, and the lamb pasta dish and the penne vodka dish are all amazing. Id highly recommend Martini, and we will be going back.
Tip: start with happy hour at the bar. Its M-F from 4-6. Half off cocktails and wines by the glass. And basically half off a ton of the apps you would pay full price for in the dining room. Your girl loves a deal. We followed up with a 6:15 reservation in the dining room. That said, I would have paid full price for our cocktails and appetizers, but this way we were able to try many things We tried the Fresco, Dark Cherry Manhattan, Pear Elderflower, and Grapefruit Gimlet cocktails. We had the Tuna tartare, Bruschetta, and Arancini. Everything was so good and the drinks were good and strong. For dinner, my partner had the Lamb Pappardelle and I had the Strip Steak. Both were amazing. For dessert we had the Lemon Mirenque Tart. Neither of us were blown away by it and wouldnt have it again. Too much mirengue and not tart enough for our tastes. The atmosphere was great. Upscale but not stuffy. The staff went above and beyond, we never had an empty glass or waited too long for anything.
• Delicious cuisine, wonderful drinks, tasty desserts and decent coffee.• Wine pairings were great and portion sizes large, you get full easily (does help to sample some appetizers as they are delicious).• It is very loud inside. It was actually a little difficult to carry a conversation.
The food was incredible, the place was cozy and the attention was superb. We went there for our anniversary dinner, and got a great experience. The waitress was over the top, she recommended exactly the best fit for us, always came promptly to check on us without being annoying. We ordered and appetizer, a pasta and a dessert, everything was brought on time, and when they bring you the past its a whole show, as they practically finish preparing it in front of you. It was the perfect choice for a special night. Downside of the place: theres only street parking (which is always full), but theres a valet parking service for $10, so thats the only thing to have in mind. Otherwise, prepare to enjoy a wonderful night with great food in a nice place.
Went with a large group of people. We had 3 servers taking care of us, and they were absolutely on top of things. The food was so incredibly good. I had the salmon. It was cooked to perfection. It was flavorful and juicy, not at all overcooked like salmon often is. The little house salad with artichokes was also surprisingly good. They are proud of the fact that almost every single thing, from salad dressing to salmon, is made/cooked in-house, and they should be. The food was worth every bite.
Really amazing dinner experience with wonderful food and superb wine. Went for a friends bachelor party and had an amazing meal. The service was great and attentive and the food was out of this world. Everything we had was phenomenal and was cooked to perfection. Make sure to try the fresh mozzarella, its great!
Celebrated our 2 year anniversary here and it was amazing. A must go to downtown for an authentic European dining experience. They dont rush you through your meal and the servers are very educated with whats on the menu. And they have half off wine bottles under $100 on Sundays.
Who knew that Columbus Ohio had restaurants like this??? High-end Italian with craft drinks and chef-quality food. Service was good, but not on the level Id expect for the prices - bread was not warm, though olive oil and pesto for it was high quality. They had trouble with timing - bread came after appetizers were finished, appetizer plates were not cleared before entrées came, and wine ordered to go with entrée came as entrée being finished. That said, food was suberb.
I paid $20 for the Butternut Squash Tortelloni. It was gross, almost inedible. Watery sauce, under seasoned. I had chicken added which was rubbery and tasteless. Absolutely terrible. I would have loved to tell my server but she never came back once we got our food until it was time to pay the check and by that time, I just wanted to leave.
I ordered take out of the sea scallops meal which is $40 and dessert. I have dined in many times and the service is great. I had to work and decided to order takeout. What I got delivered was 4 sad scallops over salty wilted greens and what looked like a couple of potato chips? When there was supposed to be actual potatoes. I was extremely disappointed. Because I was unable to dine in, they slapped together my order for takeout. Not professional service.
Possibly the best restaurant I have been to - everything was just amazing - the attention to detail - the service and of course the food - I was here with my parents - and we were vegetarian with other restrictions - they prepared a beautiful vegetarian. ravioli for us with respect to the restrictions we had - and that is easily the best ravioli I have add - the sauce was perfect and so was the vegetarian penne - to top it off I had possibly the best tiramisu of my life - it was perfect - a lot of times you have desserts which are very sweet and all you could taste is just the sugar - but this one was just perfect - it is nice to go to a restaurant where people are passionate about the food they serve to their customers - this is clearly one of them - kudos!
We had the best dinner ! Our waitress was phenomenal! It was our first time there and she helped out with the menu, giving recommendations and was so patient with us. I got the tenderloin and it tasted so good! For dessert the waitress recommended bread pudding and it tasted amazing. Definitely coming here again!
The food here is amazing! Definitely not the most authentic Italian food, but creative and delicious. I was there on a Thursday night and it was very busy- the full house combined with slightly too loud music made for a very loud atmosphere, so maybe not the best place to have a business dinner where you want to be able to clearly hear what everyone says, but a great place if youre looking for top notch food and drink.
We ate at Martini during the Short Norths most recent Gallery Hop. We made a reservation since we knew it would be busy. There are a lot of great restuarants in the area, but we were very pleased with ouf selection. In my opinion, this is the best Italian food in Cbus.
I booked a table for 7pm for Sunday the 26th weeks in advance as I was coming in from Florida to Spend time with my family. This afternoon I received a message from the stating that the restaurant cancelled my reservation!Well thank you so much as I am now hours away to see family and not finding any restaurants available to accommodate 7 people!Beyond disappointed.
One of my favorite Italian restaurants in Columbus! There is always plenty of people in attendance so you get to feel the energy of downtown in a bit more tucked away location, making it a romantic setting as well. Fine dining, with staff well educated on the menu, food and wine selections. I will continue coming time and time again and suggest anyone reading this do the same!
Poor service and food was below expectation. I am no stranger to $200 meal tabs, and was hoping this place followed suit for service and quality as other Cameron Mitchell restaurants.I came with a business partner with little knowledge of Italian fine cuisine, and was unsure of what wine and food I wanted. You could tell the waitress was impatient and didn’t have any sense of humor of personality for that matter. At one point I asked about a desert item and as I was looking at my phone menu, the waitress rolled her eyes at me (per my colleague as I was looking down)I got the chicken carbonara. Pasta and sauce was delicious, but chicken was tough. Like it was from the past weekend. Not fresh by any mean. It was over cooked and I have had better chicken from a can.Very under impressed, maybe because it was a Monday and they have their third string staff working. And the chicken was gross. Can’t believe they would serve that. I will not be back.
Very disappointing Restaurant Week meal, especially from a Cameron Mitchell owned restaurant. The appetizers were good, but nothing special. The entrees were mediocre at best. I had the chicken parmesan, which was smothered in a sauce that tasted like and had the consistency of poorly reconstituted tomato paste. My husband had the salmon, which was barely seasoned. It was nothing-special cooked salmon. The short ribs entree had hardly any substance to it at all. Three tiny little pieces of short rib, barely 3 ounces of protein. I will not be eating there again.
We had a special evening, our waitress was really knowledgeable, prompt and could balance service and friendliness without being overly intrusive. The wine selection and cocktails were great. We did appetizer, and entrees. We are both vaccinated, and we wore masks. Clean environment, not overcrowded. Food was delicious! Will go again when visiting cbus.
Had a sponsored 5 course meal. Every course was excellent. The staff responded to one-off requests quickly and correctly. Service, including clean dinnerware with each new course, was efficient and unobtrusive. A great! 4-hour experience. My favorite restaurant in Columbus.
First time there and our server was incredibly rude. Not personable at all he didn’t even introduce himself. No hi how are you? Have you been here before? No recommendations absolutely nothing. We did have a party of 8 which can be overwhelming at times especially when you have other tables to take care of but we just felt so unwelcome and rushed. The server seemed annoyed with us, even rolled his eyes while my grandpa asked him a question. Came in to celebrate and wanted to try somewhere new heard great things about this place. Perhaps we came in on off day and everyone working was just having a bad day. Incredibly disappointed and won’t be returning anytime soon.
I want to start by saying, we had excellent service and attention, but I’m rating it so low because this restaurant has so much hype and good reviews that it honestly doesn’t deserve. The calamari is basically all breading with no calamari flavor. EdibleThe pasta was all over cooked and mushy- to each their own but as a Sicilian American I can’t get behind mushy pasta- the drinks are okay but watered down, though I did enjoy the in-house made infusions. The waitress was incredible , kind, and accommodating when I sent back my meal. There are many far better options in Columbus.
My boyfriend & I dined at the bar and grabbed cocktails on a Friday evening at Martini. Amazing food with a great atmosphere! What made it exceptional was the service we received at the bar. Katie & Kate were both so attentive & kind! Top notch customer service paired with delicious pasta... can’t beat it!
My fiance took me here for my first time and we decided to sit at the bar which was full service. The precautions the restaurant had were wonderful and didnt hinder the intimate experience. The food was incredibly satisfying but what really had blown us away was our server KATE who was also bartending a VERY BUSY house. She went above and beyond and was quick to serve (she did not disappoint with her skill of cocktail making, even off menu ones when I had asked for suggestions), all the while keeping great conversation, including leaving us wanting to check out The Pearl next (owned by the same company, we had no idea!) Needless to say, we will be dining there again in the future. The overall atmosphere of the place was very welcoming and it was probably one of my favorite places in Columbus!
Delicious food , however, we will never go back there . First we had the grumpiest waitress. Absolutely no skills to work in such restaurant. Second some of the dishes were too small . We ended to pay $300 for 3 adults and a kid , we even shared our appetizers. My family go to dining restaurants very often we know the restaurants around the city , For such pricey restaurant I was expecting much better experience.
First let me say the food was delicious but the rating is for the overall experience. The restaurant itself was over-crowded where we didnt have more than a foot separating us from tables all around. Its bad when you have to ask folks to get up and move so you can make your way to the restroom - and none of us are large. The resulting noise from all the other conversations, the busy open kitchen with pans and plates banging around was maddening. We could not hear our waitress - having to ask her to repeat the special 3 times. To hear each other, we had to lean across the table and raise our voices. Come on Cameron Mitchell - add some sound diffusion. I realize were coming out of a pandemic but the way tables were packed in tight was ridiculous. It was supposed to be a 60th birthday celebration and ended up being a quick dinner with little conversation and a couple of us holding out hands over our ears. Just a bad experience.
The atmosphere was great when we got there. We were a party of 6, barely 6 feet away from a party of 10. The server was triple sat with an additional party in the private dining room. We felt slightly neglected. Drink was made too strong and took an extra ask to replace. Food was superb! Server was pleasant, but clearly over loaded.
My husband took me here for my birthday on a whim. Our waiter, Ro, made our experience here the best dinner we ever had. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and explained in detail how it was prepared. 1st course was a beet salad which was big enough for us to share. The 2nd course was mushroom raviolithat we shared and was to die for. 3rd course was huge shrimp over pillow puff pasta that was amazing, 4th course was filet with blue cheese served with pasta with a sauce never had before. It was out of this world. Last course was complimentary creme brûlée with cookies from Ro for my bday. Meal wasn’t cheap but worth every penny and will definitely be back to try more. Thanks Ro for making our time there memorable
Our waiter John was not friendly until the end of our dinner. Seem annoyed with our presence. He was simply unpleasant!! In this social climate black folks antennas are up. We are more attentive to services that we patronize. We immediately noticed his difference in our service vs the only other couple that was seated in the same area. The white couple. We would have appreciated the value he placed on serving them. We finished our dinner, paid with all of us tipping him. My brother brought this to the managers attention and they resolved it by reimbursing our meals but Im sure the message was MISSED!!
I had the Chicken Marsala. It was ok, but a bit too sweet, pand the sauce was pretty runny to the point it made the creamy polenta more of a soup. The chicken breast was split in 2, nothing inherently wrong with that. However I think being so thin reduced the cook time needed to thicken the sauce. There was no color or sear texture on the chicken at all. It seemed like it was simply boiled in the wine.I have seen other reviews saying it was very good. So its possible I came on a bad night, or its an unorthodox marsala that just isnt for me.If i had ordered something else it would probably be 5 stars. Everyone else at the table was very happy with their food. But I can only rate what I ate!
I enjoyed my drinks and food here immensely. To start, the bartender Genean was attentive, friendly, and an excellent cocktail mixer (she really promotes the good vibes here). I recommend the Manhattan Up. Dinner was equally satisfactory and I recommend the lamb pappardelle first plate, and/or the short rib entree. Both were great. Thank you, Martini! I’ll be looking for your companion restaurant back home in Chicago.
This was one of my best and favorite meals in Columbus. Staff was helpful and funny the whole night, and the ambience was perfect, even with good COVID precautions. The drinks, appetizers, and entrees (from any category) were all ridiculously good. Its also a great location downtown near the convention center and North Market and just a short walk to the Short North. Will definitely be coming back.
Lets start with they took our Table with calling say I would be late I had guest of 12 people with 15 minutes being late they Said be fine From there on split up table took an hour with screaming In my guest face We was seriously affended But had to Accompany my party with paying parking We was there for the Night Food and Serving was excellent Sum up the night Me my Guest had to turn the the Night around
My favorite Italian restaurant in the greater Columbus area. I have been there 3 times now and everything I have ordered (cocktails, appetizers, first plates, second plates, and desserts) has been spectacular. If you havent tried the squash tortellini you should. It is one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. Service was also top notch. Our server Joe was on point and we lacked for nothing. Wonderful experience. We will be there again for certain. Valet parking is offered and makes parking much easier in this part of the city.
Our first time at Martini and it was for our anniversary. It was amazing! The atmosphere, service and food were all first class. Our waitress (wish I could remember her name) was very helpful and made our experience very memorable! Will definitely be going back!Note from my hubby - the BEST steak hes ever had! It was a filet (tenderloin) and hes a ribeye man.
Save your money and skip this one. We really wanted to like this restaurant and picked it specifically for our 10 year anniversary dinner. We love Italian food and usually I wouldn’t say we are that hard to please. Let’s start at the top. We ordered a couple aperol spritz as our aperitivo but they make their own aperol in house which is fine but their version is nothing like a regular aperol spritz. It was super sweet with no bitterness at all, it looked watered down, and it tasted more peachy to me than anything else. We were honestly convinced with go some sort of Bellini instead of a spritz. I even asked the waitress, who was really great, what they use to make their own aperol since it tasted so peachy. Next, we ordered bruschetta for an appetizer which we assumed was a safe choice but it wasn’t. The bread seemed like it was covered in olive oil and then fried on the griddle which wasn’t enough to give it the structure to hold up to all the topping. The topping was also not a fresh mixture of veggies and did not have a good or bad flavor just no flavor at all. It even came with prosciutto on top that had no flavor. At this point we were given some bread at the table which was called focaccia but lacked some of the qualities I expect and it came with olive oil and balsamic and pesto. The pesto tasted like straight up chlorophyll. It was at this point we were about to get our check and leave but figured we should still give it a chance and order pasta. My wife ordered the butternut squash tortellini and I ordered the lamb pappardelle and we both got wine to avoid and more unfortunate cocktails. Her tortellini was incredibly salty and lacked basically any flavor other than salty. My lamb pappardelle was ok but did not have enough salt. Everything about the whole meal was flat and unexciting. This was an expensive mistake and the only redeeming factor is our waitress was nice and did a good job taking care of us. Never again.
Went here for Valentines Day dinner and was so impressed with the food & service. The food was fresh and delicious. Love the ambiance and the wine menu. Our waiter Michael was so friendly and was 5 for 5 on all recommendations he made for us on the menu. He made our experience so enjoyable and well definitely be going back!Love that they clear out all silverware and plates and refresh between each course. That really shows a restaurant is upscale.Everything we ate was phenomenal. We had the mozzarella appetizer (homemade to order in-house), beet salad, penne vodka, osso buco, and for dessert the warm banana bread with chocolate ganache.
Big miscommunication with the staff over the phone. Only got a reservation because we were bringing our own wine, which apparently you cannot do. Dont listen to the person over the phone. Not the best evening as they were out of the wine that was ordered, and the compensation agreed upon was not followed through when the check came. Also, someone in the kitchen was too heavy handed with the salt tonight.
This placed was packed. The four tops were right on top of each other. No chance for social distancing. Fortunately we ate at a booth with some extra space around us. The food was awesome though and made up for my anxiety over how packed it was while still fighting a pandemic.
What an amazing place for dinner and a cocktail. Amazing selection of wine....who has Amaroné?!?!? Amazing! Appetizers are awesome! Great food and the gals bartending are second to none! Abby always takes good care of us. Atmosphere, Service, and Happy Hour! It doesnt get much better. Youll like it. I guarantee it!
Our first visit here, and we will be returning. Very rad Italian fine dining. Italian cuisine is hard to pull off very well, but they do it.Our server, Katie, was also very authentic, not fake or scripted, and took very good care of us. Definitely recommend Martini for your next fancy shindig.
My husband and I went for our 18th anniversary. The environment was very elegant! Most importantly, the food was spectacular! We both had the steak and it melted in our mouths. The red wine reduction over the steak gives it such a wonderful flavor. I still dream about this steak! I highly recommend!
I’d give zero stars if that were an option. We made advanced reservation for a large group celebrating our friend’s birthday. They gave us two tables, which was acceptable, except they were no where near each other. The staff was rude and were upset that we kept switching seats so that we could mingle with the birthday girl. Some of our orders didn’t arrive until an hour after the rest. At one point a server was putting away glasses and on a shelf across from our table when the glasses broke and shattered sending shards of glass all over our table and guests, no one apologized or even checked to see if they could clean up the glass. Apparently, my husband over heard staff complaining about another table which appeared to be a celebration of some sort also, about how they were being loud and not ordering anything other than appetizers and drinks. Spoke to the GM and corporate, both were unapologetic, rude and unprofessional.
Really some of the BEST food I have ever had. We sampled several appetizers. My husband loved the calamari. I had the martini salad to start. Fresh and the dressing was to die for. Pasta dishes served family style were wonderful as well. Pasta was fresh and sauce was creamy. I got the scallops, and they were so soft and tender they were like butter in my mouth. My husband got a tenderloin and said it was the best steak hes ever had. We also sampled several desserts, I liked the bread pudding. But the chocolate dessert was the best! The only complaint I have is that it was so loud it was hard to hear.
Beautiful decor with attention to detail. Attentive wait staff and an intriguing menu that makes it hard to choose. I chose the feature for the evening and the toasted gnocchi, veg and sauce combination had me swooning. Would have been the perfect dish if served with the salmon. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and while not the best we’ve ever had, considering all the dining we’ve ever done, very tasty and enjoyable.
Went for a work dinner. Our Waiter was friendly and very knowledgeable about the wine and food. Prompt service and mixed drinks were unique and worth the cost. Steak was absolutely perfect and one of the better steaks Ive had in Ohio. Pricey but worth it. Intimate atmosphere.
This is one of the few places I hadnt been in Columbus. The food was amazing! I would highly recommend the Mozzarella appetizer. I had the lasagna and my wife had the tortellini. The food was top notch and the service was even better. I hope we dont wait so long to go back.
We ate down in the main dining area and then they also have another dining area where you walk up some stairs to eat in the back. I meant to take pictures of our food but it looked so good and was delicious that I forgot. Cant wait to get back and eat here again next time Im in town.
Early dinner on a Saturday, and the restaurant was full and bustling. Despite the activity, the noise level was very comfortable. The food was excellent from the bread to go the dessert. I have to eat gluten free, and was pleasantly surprised at the taste and texture of the gluten-free bread. My wife is not gluten-free, yet she chose the GF bread over the regular bread. Had octopus for the first time. If you are hesitant about trying the, I heartily recommend going for it. Service was also attentive, friendly, yet professional.
The restaurant has a really good vibe and the dining room had some nice ambience. Our server Joe was great and took care of us the whole evening. He made some helpful suggestions with the menu. The food was delicious. Everything from the appetizers to the main course was excellent. Dessert was pretty damn good too. All in all a very delightful dining experience.
Don’t get me wrong this is a great place to have a nice dinner, my wife and I went there for our 30th anniversary and would go again. The service was great and the food for the most part was delicious. My wife a had the beef tenderloin which melted in her mouth and I had Chicken Marsala which is the reason for the 4 stars...the chicken seemed to be microwaved, other than that delicious. The beet salad I had was superb which save the meal.
Wife and I were in the hunt for a nice kid free place for dinner. Found this restaurant by a random Google search and wow good food. Even with a busy Saturday crowd the staff did a great job balancing the work load. My wife pointed out a detail that I didnt notice, one of the staff was cleaning off fingerprints after hanging a wine glass above the bar. Ive never seen that done before. The food was delicious and plated very well. This place is highly recommended and we plan on coming back.
Great tasting food and top quality service. The wait staff was very engaging with just enough reserve to be respectful of our personal space. I was really impressed with how busy the whole place stayed, not showing evidence of slowing until nearly ending our meal. The host informed us that our wait would be 45 minutes, to an hour and sure enough, unlike many other places, they were good for their word. We sat in the bar for 60full minutes, but somehow it was worth it.
I will never step forward in this restaurant again after tonight. What was at first a great night quickly turned sour after a verbal altercation occurred between a friend of mine and a server. After alerting the manager of the concern, he instead of being sympathetic and understanding was very rude, raised his voice, and blamed my friend for the altercation. The managers name is Eaman and the servers name was Samantha. Eaman definitely needs more training on customer service. Again, I will make sure everyone knows not to stop by Martinis!!!
If you are looking for a great cocktail, and straightforward Italian food, go no further. Best veal chop ever - served with roasted potatoes and spicy sweet picked peppers - fantastic combination. When I was there this week I also had the Lobster risotto - it was delicate and filled with chunks of lobster and sweet bits of tomato - a treasure and could be meal on its own if you are looking for something light.
I have been here three times now and have not been disappointed. Their cocktails and selection of other beverages are great. The most recent time I had the salmon dish which was one of the best Ive ever had anywhere. The service has been outstanding every single time as well. Highly recommend for a date night or special occasion!
We had a fabulous experience celebrating our office for the Holidays last night, Once the wonderful new manager Eaman Hai realized it was our Holiday celebration and his team including the hostess, assistant manager and April our server made certain our experience was wonderful. We used to frequent the restaurant years ago but feel that recently the vibe, the service and especially the menu has all improved so much. With 12 different orders of food, everyone was delicious and now that the gluten free options exist we have no qualms about going with anyone who has dietary restrictions. Just a great experience from start to finish!
No disappointment here. We arrived at 4 pm and were seated promptly on a Saturday evening, the atmosphere is warm and alluring, service was very prompt. In a matter of minutes our server, Joey, arrived and took our drink order and made an excellent recommendation to try the mozzarella versus the bruschetta. The mozzarella, crostinis, pesto and tomatoes were amazing and I would have ordered two if I knew how good it was. The salad was fantastic, truly delicious. Lastly, the pennette alla vodka....easily my favorite part of the meal. I am not a foodie by any means and thoroughly enjoyed all of it.We were out celebrating my boyfriends birthday, sharing a piece of the chocolate torte. I would definitely recommend it. Joey was kind enough to comp the dessert and overall was very pleasant from beginning to end.We will surely go back.
The pretty: I have been here twice for dinner. What they are claiming as a modern upscale experience, the ambiance comes close and thats about it. The waitresses were pleasant on both occasions. The ugly:The food was lacking in flavor. On both occasions the wines I had were poor in taste (possibly due to the oxidation of having a bottle of wine open for more than 2 to 3 days) I am a wine enthusiast and know my wines. The last time I visited on a Tuesday, the meal came out before my poor tasting Nero wine. While I am in the middle of the meal, the bread for the table came out after.... I just laughed at the dissatisfaction I had with this place. The glasses at the table where I was seated had a thick film over it, I had to flag down the busser who was replenishing glasses on the next table to change mine. Even he agreed that the glasses werent clean. They were promptly replaced with clean, clear wiped down glasses.I would recommend finding another upscale that deserves your money if you can find one in the neighborhood
Nice atmosphere, great service, delicious food!We went to Martini Modern Italian on March 1 for dinner. Gary was our server. He was fantastic. He was knowledgeable about the drink and food menu items. His attention to detail was apparent. Our water glasses were never empty. The restaurants desire to please their customers by allowing substitutions (when desired) is pretty special. In my case, I only wanted to change the style pasta I received in my dish. No problem! The house made mozzarella was absolutely delicious. I had the Testarossa (adult beverage) and found myself wanting another one. Nothing wrong with a little Irish whiskey and the additions that make it sweet & yummy! Lemon meringue tart for dessert was the perfect end to my meal. Fresh blackberries in the lemon curd, covered with meringue and Grand Marnier blackberries on the side. Im so sorry I didnt take pictures!Reservations are recommended. Our reservations were for 6PM. The restaurant was about half full and people were coming in behind us. By the time we left, every seat, every table was full and more people waiting in the small vestibule and just inside. It is worth the wait. Buon appetito!
Ive had some of the most amazing tasting meals of my life at this place. Dont be afraid to be adventurous and order a special or something youre not used to because I can almost guarantee it will be delicious. Whoever is in charge of the menu is great at finding amazing combinations of flavors and bringing them all together on the same plate.
We have been going to this restaurant since the late 90s and they never disappoint. I just got back to my hotel room, and reflecting on tonights service I am again completely impressed. They were slammed, and when they realized we had been waiting, the staff went above and beyond to make our experience exceptional. The food has never disappointed. I cant recommend this restaurant and staff enough. Enjoy!
Nice spot. Very friendly people. Good atmosphere and food good as well for the most part. I am not sure if its modern Italian, but its not bad. Salmon is really good, risotto on the other hand is watery and they dont use the aborio rice they use some other rice that is not creamy in its nature. I would not recommend risotto. Apps are all good, try the antipasto and octopus and definitely go for happy hour from 5 to 6 pm for $6 drink and half off apps
Great food and great service!! We had the bruschetta appetizer which was delicious! For entrees I had the special which was sea bass with a delightful crispy skin on creamy polenta topped with bits of asparagus, marinated artichokes and micro greens. Super yummy! My boyfriend had the butternut squash tortelloni which I had a taste of, also yum! We splurged and had desert also and neither of us was disappointed: chocolate cake for me and cheesecake for him.
In town on business and saw the great reviews of this place so I decided to check it out. I ordered the veal martini and I had to send it back. The sauce has a sweet citrus flavor that was really strange. I havent had to return an entree in a very long time. I then ordered the pasta with shrimp in a tomato sauce. The pasta was extremely overcooked. I didnt return the dish but only ate about a 1/4 of it. I ate at the bar an the bartender could not have been any nicer or more understanding. Really was looking forward to eating here but my experience was really disappointing. Kudis to the VERY nice and professional bartender.
Bread was incredible.I had the beef tenderloin and was probably the best Ive ever had. Great flavor and textureService was ok. Server was kinda weird and awkward. He said hes been there for 13 years. He brought everyone else bread except us until I asked. Then I received it 3 minutes before entree arrived. He dropped off a water glass as he walked by which wasnt mine due to the lipstick on the rim. I think he got the tables mixed up and theres still someone there waiting for their waterOverall food was incredible but I know theres the 1 in 100 events of poor service so I would definitely go back
My partners favorite meal is roasted duck, and except for Chinese restaurants, its hard to find others that have it as a feature on the menu. We frequently go to happy hours at Cameron Mitchell restaurants (fabulous, by the way), and talk to quite a few people while were there. We talked to one of the servers who mentioned that Martini Italian (a Cameron Mitchell place) had roasted duck on the menu from time-to-time, and that I could call, and even if it wasnt the feature, theyd likely prepare it in advance, if a reservation was made.I went to the website, and under Contact Us, asked if, in fact, they would prepare a special dinner in advance. To my surprise, the manager called me back the same day and said yes. I made the reservation, got an email confirmation, and all was set. She also went into detail about the duck would be prepared, and it sounded wonderful.
I read the reviews prior to coming, one review worries me about if your of any color then white then don’t go. Let me say I don’t get that at all. My husband is black and we got treated with the most respect. Very friendly waiter and he explained the menu cause we never eat here before, drinks were great. I LOVED THIS PLACE. Will return in the future. Thanks Brad for a great experience.
We started with a couple Caesar salads and the Tre Colore salad and they were delicious. For our dinners we had the Lamb Pappardelle, Pennette Alla Vodka and the Butternut Squash Tortelloni. It was hard to pick a winner, they were all amazing. The pastas were cooked perfectly and the seasoning was spot on. Service was great. Highly recommended.

2022-01-30This was the best dinner we have ever had. I highly recommend it. Our waiter was amazing and very helpful and the food was delicious. I only get to Columbus about once a year, from now on this will be a must stop.

2022-05-22I liked my pasta, it was a sizeable portion and had a great flavor. I got bread pudding for dessert and it was delicious. I wouldve given 5 stars if the bread was warm. For the price I expect to be wowed by every dish.

2022-03-14We celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday at Martini and it was Fabulous! The food was delicious, and our waiter Justin was the best we have ever had anywhere before. Being our first time, We took many of his recommendations, and they were all fabulous, especially the wine he suggested to pair with our steak and veal entrees! We were also impressed with receiving new cutlery before every course, and the fabulous bread pudding dessert Justin brought for my boyfriend’s birthday! Overall, it was a magical night with superb service and food. We will be back!

2022-05-08I don’t know if I’ve ever had a fresher tasting tomato sauce! Shrimp marinara was simply exquisite. I eat Italian 3x a week and this one truly stands out. Not doctored up with a ton of onions, chunks of miscellaneous vegetables and herbs to hide bad tomatoes…just the brilliant fresh tomato flavor that Italy is known for.

2021-09-18Well, we’ve had a gorgeous meal. Sometimes when a meal goes so right start to finish you wonder if you imagined it or perhaps you’re just too easy to please; the answer is no. We eat all over the world and frequently. While quite proud of Columbus growing food culture, we love these classic staples and this food stop is outstanding. It’s our second visit and we will be back. We had John our server, top tier, and it couldn’t possibly be any better. Excellent wine pairing with our perfectly fluid multiple course Italian American meal, with imagination and class and if so desired decadence; it’s certainly a hearty selection. Top 5 in Central Ohio based on the evenings plates. Thanks!

2022-06-11Everything was incredible! The mushroom ravioli really stood out and Ill be back to have it again. Great wine list, great service, and the food was excellent! Weve since visited this place on a regular basis when there are events downtown. Its hardly even a second thought about where were doing our reservations. You must try the bone marrow dish if youre interested in that kind of thing.

2022-07-15Every part of this meal and experience was lovely. The cocktails were well crafted, the appetizers were delicious, the meals were wonderful! I had the salmon with blue crab ravioli. It was served with a lovely broth which had subtle and complex flavors that complimented the ravioli and fish beautifully.

2022-01-28Never disappointed in any experience I have here. From the management to the chefs everyone and everything is always fabulous! Haley was amazing and so knowledgeable about each wine she served me and my boyfriend. We did the 5 course dinner with wine pairings and loved every bite! Had to take dessert home because we were stuffed! We also added a bottle of Seven Oaks Cabernet to our dinner and it didnt disappoint either. Always look forward to my next dining experience with them❤

2021-08-15Not your typical Italian restaurant. Everything was amazing from the pesto with bread to grilled lemons on top of the calamari. Best mushroom ravioli. Lamb pappardelle is comfort food at its best. To top it off was the delicious bread pudding. High quality food in a fun environment.
