Marcs Stores in other cities:
The store itself is not so bad, a weird mix of a grocery store and a closeouts irregulars store like big Lots only less clean. That being said I have to agree with some of the other reviews here. Management is is something else to deal with and not very professional or customer service orientated and it is reflected in the way the staff deals with you. TRUST ME on this. I had a return with receipt according to their own printed policy and as I stood there, the agent said (and I VERBATIM quote her) Its been opened, I cant return this. I responded yes but your policy says...and she then turned to her co-worker with an attitude, who is a cashier mind you and asks her can return this?! He brought this back opened! EXCUSE ME?? You a manager/supervisor and your asking a cashier if you can do this return?? And your pissy about HAVING to do it?? I am so sorry I did not get her name.Another time they were having their end of the day rush, calling all cashiers up front to ring. The manager on the other hand, stood around grumbling about leaving late now because of the rush and started sweeping the floor and seeming unapproachable. WOW! Not even an attempt to help ring out the now irritated customers waiting to leave, standing in lengthy lines.Yeah, Marcs sucks at customer service, at least from a management perspective. Theyre prices may be good but the you have to ask, if you have an issue or return, what type of problems are you going to have to endue to resolve it.
COUPONERS BEWARE!!Went in to the store tonight, like I do often. I know the coupon policy like the back of my hand... can use coupons on close outs, no limit, if the coupon is over the price they reduce the coupon.... I also know it says that they do have the right to limit but when you’ve been the I over a dozen times and there hasn’t been one... you assume they don’t. (Not that I went crazy either). Went to checkout, an ignorant little boy that probably could of been my son said the limit was 5. I asked him to show me. He removed me to another register like a second rate citizen. Called 2 other people up there like he was incapable of doing his own job. One was supposively a manager named Lisa who flipped out bc I said “sh*t” who said the limit was 6. I asked how can there be a limit if I’ve never been limited and everyone thinks it’s something else. Told them I planned on calling corporate and asked for names. The little boy told me “no I don’t give out my name”. The “manager” did. Needless to say if you feel like being talked to ignorantly by little kids that try and run this establishment and no one is on the same page then THIS IS YOUR PLACE!!
A few weeks ago this store had a dozen eggs on sale for 2.00. I went through line and found I had been charged 2.59. As apparently it was too late for the cashier to do anything about it I was forced to go to the customer service line. I was told it was the extra large on sale not the large like I bought. The kid at the customer service counter, and I do mean kid, said he would have to refund the eggs and he would just need id. No,I just bought these 10 second ago and I paid cash, you dont need an id, so I asked for a manager. The manager arrived, whose name was Pat, who I think was a woman, started almost yelling at me about This is our policy.OK. thanks Marc, you have your policy and I have mine. I look forward to the day and drive by and the place is like Sparkle, boarded up and empty.
Was disappointed on the way the manager handle a situation. Cashier had gotten a little attitude with my wife but i was in another part of the store and the manager was called but didnt say or do anything really. Wasnt expecting or wanted the cashier to get fire but the way the manager handle it was disappointing to me
Was at this store on March 22nd for the sale advertised in there circular that started March 22nd. Several Items I specifically went in for were already sold out. Person at the service desk refused to issue a raincheck, stating Marcs does not offer rainchecks. I called the corporate number and spoke to 2 differing persons who reiterated the same thing. Under Ohio law (OAC 109:4-3-03(C)(1) for those who would doubt and want to look it up) stores are required to provide rainchecks in this situation or it is considered a deceptive and unfair sales practice. Marcs stores are blatantly disobeying Ohio Consumer protection laws!Consumers of Ohio deserve better and need to #boycottMarcs and any other retailer who feels they can enact store policies in direct violation of state consumer protection and ethical business laws.

2022-01-21Friendly and knowledgeable workers, clean and organized store, some really good prices and deals for certain products. Nice selection of different variety of products from frozen and refrigerated foods and beverages. Fresh produce and deli items. They have a great selection of pet products and foods, Nice variety of wines and other alcoholic beverages, bakery products and a great variety of cheeses. The only thing I would like to see at their store is that they only had a couple registers open and definitely not enough for the amount of customers trying to check out. Im glad that they havent resorted to the self checkout because that takes away from the hours that the employees should be getting, plus I dont like having to ring myself out, also I usually need an employee to come fix the machine anyways. Wow, glad that saved time (sarcasm)

2022-03-21One star because they had a product I was looking for. Loss of stars because customer service did not acknowledge long lines. Perhaps there is a staff shortage, but management needs to show professionalism to the customers and help employees move things along.

2022-02-01Never have enough check-outs open. Today I waited 25 minutes to check-out. Only 5 registers open, with people crammed in the aisles and jamming the front of the store. No room to get around. Prices are fair on some items but not worth the wait.

2021-12-07Last night I went shopping here and when I went to check out there were only 3 out of 17 check outs open, I seen an elderly man with one item in his hands having trouble standing and the young man in front of him (who had a big buggy full) was arrogantly ignoring him, I wish I would have told him off now, Im a big believer in karma. I would have gladly gave up my place in line, but since I was in the next line over and had more people in front of me that wouldnt have done any good. Customers dont seem to matter here. That was so heartbreaking to see. HIRE MORE PEOPLE TO WORK THOSE CHECK OUTS!!

2020-12-08I cant believe they only have a 3.9 rating. Marcs is a GREAT alternative to the horribly overpriced Giant Eagle. Fair prices on most items. Quality products. They have some interesting non-grocery items on the far right of the building. What more would you want?

2020-11-08This was my first time shopping here. They have a really good selection and competitive pricing. The isles are a little tight for the amount of people in there and they had few registers open so the check out lines were a bit long.

2021-01-29Everyone is very helpful and friendly. Their produce is the biggest seller for me. Its always much fresher than Walmart or Giant Eagle. Their breads are also fresher and cheaper than both of those stores.
