Manhattan Deli in other cities:
Sunday, December 1st, 10:30 a.m.The service wasnt very good and it wasnt very busy either. There were 4 different women taking our order, refilling our drinks (which werent timely) and checking in on us. The home fries were limp and bland. And the corned beef hash omelette tasted like hot dogs. I was expecting there to be a lot of flavor in the food, especially for being authentic. However, It is reasonably priced and Ive been here during lunch and the sandwich was very great!! Follow me on IG @mother_beast
The food there has always been good, but the service has really improved over the years. The outdoor seating open seasonally allows dog. Such a joy to bring my dog with me. They have a great menu with American classics, Lebanese and Israeli/Jewish classics. I especially love their Matzoh ball soup and latkes. My mother loves their Manhattan Club. My only negative is their cheesecakes and cakes always look better than they taste, but you wont be sorry if you get an eclair or cream puff.
Yes we went and ate here last night for a fish dinner it was just not any good slow service everything on the menu they were out of and the fish tasted crappie Im sorry this used to be a good place to eat all you can eat but its just went downhill and everybody blames it on covid.
This place is awesome!! First time going there, and it was an all-around fabulous experience. The service was amazing! Our waitress was so helpful and friendly, especially to my little kids! Im usually nervous dining in restaurants with 2 littles, but Manhattan Deli made me feel relaxed by their awesome family-like atmosphere. And the food was incredible! I loved the open-faced roast beef sandwich, but I also couldnt stop stealing bites if my husbands reuben. The corned beef was so delicious. I cant wait to go back!
This is a wonderful restaurant that I have gone to with my aunt and her friends after church on Sundays. They go there so often that they are known by name and the manager makes up their table ahead of time! The food is wonderful and varied. I have had their pancakes 🥞 (tasty and tender), omelets (wonderful and so many to choose from) and sandwiches (there are so many it would take a month of Sundays to try each one!). They are known for their corned beef, sadly, thats one dish I dislike. But, many of those that I am with rave about it!! Their matzoh ball soup is delicious. If you are in the area, you need to stop by and treat your taste buds to some fantastic food 😋
You really cant go wrong here. The service here is consistently friendly and efficient. If I had to guess, Id say the owner and management provide a good work environment because the employees seem to actually care about the service they provide. I try to order something different every time, but always get the matzo ball soup. On this visit I had the Vermont Gobbler and wasnt disappointed. The sandwiches are always piled high with meat and cheese and the bread is consistently fresh. I also love the fat steak fries they serve. Its usually too much food for me to eat in one sitting so I end up with two meals for the price of one. Dont forget to ask for pickles. They may not be house-made, but they are crunchy and flavorful.
We come here a few times a week, the food is exceptional! Many specials are offered daily, everything is fresh and prepared daily from, breakfast to dessert. The wait staff is always very friendly and quick even when the restaurant is full. The manager always comes around to ask about your meal. Cant say enough good things about the Manhattan deli! I highly recommend it!
Their Catering business Catering with Class catered our wedding and did an OUTSTANDING job!! Tim is a wholesome person who makes sure you get the quality you deserve! He was such a big help and him and his staff were very efficient. All of the food was amazing!! We recieved so many compliments on the food, no complaints! He went above our expectations and I would recommend him to anyone!
Food was delicious and staff are so welcoming! My husband has been surprising me with a corn beef sandwich from here for a while, so we decided to go sit down and eat the other day with our daughter. The ruben was great, the club which my husband had was also great. My daughter was in love with the pickels and we had an all around great experience. Next time definitely grabbing a dessert as they looked so good!
My boyfriend and I go here regularly and have had breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert - all of our choices have been excellent. Big portions and homecooked. So much to choose from. So far all of our servers have been very nice and good at their jobs. Manager comes around and check on on the guests. Great hours. We love coming here.
This is great place to get a sandwich you crave a traditional deli-style meal, but expect to pay for it. They are generous with the meats, service is pretty good, but the last time my son and I had deli sandwiches there, the bill came to more than $30, which included sodas. Hard for me to justify that when there are so many other really good restaurants around there.
Ordered from grub hub - asked for extra cheese and got ZERO.....also asked for thousand island dressing on the side. Got horse radish instead. Corned beef was dry and chewy. When I called to tell them they had no interest in correcting the order for an unsatisfied customer. Thumbs down. Grub hub did great, it was the restaurant I have an issue with.
The service was good. We were seated promptly. I had a turkey sandwich, and I wouldn’t recommend it. I figured a deli would make your sandwich for you, but instead, when I asked for mustard on my sandwich, I was told that there was mustard on the table. Not a big deal, but then I was brought toppings ( olives, and oil ) on the side for me to put on the sandwich myself. The olives where whole and dry, so not ideal to put on a sandwich. Personally, If I knew I had to put my sandwich together myself, I would’ve stayed home. But to each their own.
We have purchased many deli and dessert trays for holiday parties over the years, and have been very pleased with quantity and quality. However, recently I ordered a veggie tray, expecting the same quality. It was not. The tray was filled with few kinds of veggies. Lots of celery and radishes. No selection of vegetables. I was very disappointed. I recommend deli and dessert trays. I would not purchase another veggie tray.
I was seated first, got served last. Our cup was empty for awhile. Our waitress passed us a good five times. Then finally grabbed drinks... as food was coming out...Zero taste. I tried steak and eggs. Not a moment after I left, shooting pains all over my stomach. Worst experience ever. Will never go back.
Manhattan Deli is always a tasty treat! Nice outdoor patio. Excellent PICKLES! Great diversity in food selections and specials. Today we had the paprikash soup, California chicken salad and chicken shawarma with baba ganoush. From homemade Lebanese dishes, to salads, sandwiches and good old fashioned comfort food, its great for the whole family. Check out the desserts, too!
I wish I could be leaving a glowing review for this place but unfortunately there were just too many issues with a simple order.I called in an order for beef shawarma, picked it up and got it home only to find out was chicken. Not a huge issue because I like chicken, but a disappointment nonetheless. More on the chicken in a moment. There was no pita with my order, and Im paying $12 dollars, I kind of expect to get all the things included in the meal. The chicken shawarma was downright nearly inedible. Having had shawarma at other establishments, and making the seasoning at home, you get a sense for the flavor profile. This was basically clove flavored,drier-than-the-desert chicken strips.I dont think that I will be visiting this establishment again. The food was not impressive enough to warrant the cost...what food I actually got.
From pastrami to bagels with lox, and everything in between. This is the closest place in Cleveland to mimic a true NYC deli--but without the tiny tables, NYC air, & rushed waitresses. The service is amazing! If you havent been, go now. If you have been, they now do a program that rewards regulars!
Even though the food is usually good the customer service is terrible and they never do anything to actually make a problem right. I have been in there about 20-25 times in the last year, I had two problems, and neither time did they do anything to make it right. After what happened last week I am never going back again.I ordered a chicken sandwich and a beef sandwich from the Lebanese style section of the menu, the chicken sandwich was fine but the beef was incredibly cold. It took several minutes to flag down the waitress [she only came by to take the order, bring the food, and bring the bill, she never came by to check on us].About two minutes after the cold beef was taken away the waitress brought it back, it had obviously been microwaved, it was incredibly hot, the pita was soggy/sagging and falling apart [the way pita does after being microwaved] and the beef was rubbery and leathery [the way beef becomes after being microwaved].During the checkout at the register the cashier asked how everything was, I explained in detail what had happened with the beef sandwich and all she said was, “I’m sorry to hear about that” without offering to remove it from the bill or do anything. Why even ask how my meal was if you aren’t going to do anything about it when I tell you there was a problem?I am never going back to this place; they truly don’t care if there was a problem with your meal. The previous time I had a problem was a piece of bone in my beef sandwich, I bit into it, realized there was a bone, and spat that piece out, the manager came by and asked if I wanted them to heat up another piece of beef to replace the one that I had to spit out, I was shocked and horrified that anybody could suggest such a stupid course of action. I explained, “I am going to be done with this sandwich by the time a single piece of beef is ready.” Seriously, that was their idea on making that problem right, heating me up a single piece of beef to replace the piece I spat out due to the bone? Seriously? Really? That was pathetic. Most places I have been to will remove an item from the menu, offer a complimentary dessert, or offer to redo a sandwich, if there is a problem like that. Offering to replace a single piece of meat is illogical because my meal will be over or the sandwich will be cold by the time the replacement piece of meat arrives. Most of the times I have been there I have never had a problem, but the two times I have had a problem they did nothing to make it right.
No working bathrooms . great corned beef. Server novice and self absorbed in conversation with hostess instead of servicing the one customer she had . only 4 tables occupied. Over cooked fried cheese with a burnt tasting red sauce. I will only come back when there is a manager on duty and the toilets work.
I came here on the first day of Lent. During this time, Manhattan Deli has their annual fish fry specials available where one can dine on all you can eat Lake Erie perch for one flat price. I did not order this personally, and decided on a Mediterranean/Lebanese sample platter of; tabouleh, hummous, falafel, and babaghanoush which came served with two servings of pita bread. As a person of Lebanese ethnicity, I am accustomed what authentic Lebanese food tastes like. The platter that I ordered at Manhattan Deli lacked critical spices and could have been served with at the very least, spiced dipping sauce. Competitors such as Aladdins Eatery does so, which I feel compensates for how mild the food has already been modified to taste. I did enjoy my meal here, the building has a very old-time feel and my family does business with its owners. Our server was nice too, and everything was taken care of in a timely fashion. I just did not like how bland my food tasted. The tabouleh was probably my favourite part of the platter, it was the only dish that had any distinctive flavour. Prices are reasonable here as well, and one can expect to find more than enough options to choose from on the menu.
Just starting line here for 40 minutes waiting on my order they never got it they lady acted like she was going to walk away and take it and never came back stood there for another 10 minutes and finally walked out and I thought there wasnt supposed to be more than 10 people gather they have probably 70 people in a 20-foot by 20-foot area standing shoulder-to-shoulder

2022-03-27This is a staple quality deli restaurant that has been in Mentor for decades. The food quality is always consistent. They have a great breakfast menu and is a quality place for brunch or are looking for excellent deli sandwiches. They have daily specials too. The staff is helpful. The manager does an excellent job working the front of house and helping out staff when they need extra hands and communicating with the staff.

2022-07-13One of our favorite places for a quick, reasonably priced meal. My husband and I went to Manhattan Deli yesterday for a quick dinner. I have to say it was the worst meal I have ever had there. I had the low-carb corned beef plate with a side salad and broccoli. My husband had mozzarella cheese planks and the open faced turkey sandwich. The corned beef and turkey sandwich were tasteless. My lettuce consisted of mostly the rib portion of the lettuce and it was all brown. Half of the broccoli was rotten. I also saw the server put tomatoes on my salad with her hands as we were sitting with a view of the kitchen and the serving area. The server brought our entire meal at the same time. I am thinking maybe they got a new cook. I hope the service and the food improve, as we would love to continue patronizing this place.

2022-02-16We were there for breakfast Valentines weekend with my son and grand daughters...Service was good as was the food...what I love about this place is everyone always comes over and talks for a minute, fussed over the kids makes them feel special, not just our server who was great. The kids got candy and felt special, as well as the adults being welcomed and felt very taken care of like we were old friends. Always live it at this location they do extra

2022-03-28I though the food was adequate. Took my grandson there for soup and corned beef sandwiches for lunch. With tip I walked out the door at $60. Just a little too pricey for lunch IMO and food quality didnt help my rating.

2022-05-31The food and service here is always good. However, do not use their online ordering system! They sneak in an significant upcharge online and dont tell you ahead of time. If you order for pickup call them, DO NOT order online.

2022-03-20I typically order the extra lean corned beef it is amazing and always more on a sandwich than i can fit in one sitting. The pickles they serve with sandwiches are to die for and the matzo ball soup is an all time favorite
