A great place for a seminar, however the climate control was a bit of an issue as it was much too cold. Otherwise a clean place it would serve well for a special event venue.
The Makoy Center does an awesome job with planning your event. Had my daughters wedding there on October 23 and I will tell you Matt, Clay, Stephanie, all the servers and bartenders were simply wonderful. They were so attentive to my daughter and her husband as well as our guests. They made planning our event simple and the food was amazing. I highly recommend the Makoy Center for your event.
Great place. I was at an archeology meeting there. I always look forward to it.. and the chillies was yummy yummy for my tummy.

Great place for functions and gatherings. Seats over 200 people. Couple of halls available. Far from highway. Limited parking and close to Hilliard town. Spacious interiors. Attached bar available inside. Adequate space for buffet dining and tables with raised stage. They didnt provide audio systems.I would recommend this place.
This place is absolutely stunning! I’ve been here a few times now, and each time it’s just breathtaking!
My niece got married there and 3 hrs before her wedding they told her it was a pipe that busted and she could only get married cut her cake and then we all had to be out by 9pm we had no access to restrooms no other accommodation like emergency port-a-potties or a water truck was looked into at all my niece could not serve her guest food nor any type of drinks. The venue seemed so unbothered like it was no big deal very unprofessional

The Hilliard Coin Show is the third Sunday every month. Dan Rich puts on a great one-day show!The Makoy Center is a perfect venue!Hilliard has a lot to offer, if you want other attractions!
We can not thank The Makoy Center and all their staff! Our wedding on 9/19/2020 was amazing and everything that we wanted. Jacob and Clay did an amazing job making our day so beautiful. The food was amazing! All of our guests commented on how wonderful and beautiful the Makoy Center was. We had perfect weather for our outdoor ceremony. Everything was flawless. Everyone was so friendly, helpful easy to work with from day 1 of planning. The corona virus may have made it stressful planning but The Makoy Center made it a breeze. The Makoy Center was the first any only venue we looked at. We just knew this was the place. We will definitely be back for any party we have.
We held my parents 40th surprise anniversary here past night. Let me just say through the whole process Matt and Clay have been AMAZING. They took care of every detail so I didnt have to worry about a thing. The night of the staff was all amazing very friendly and helpful. My parents had the night of their life and I will recommend the Makoy center to all of my friends. I also thought the pricing was very reasonable, they didnt pressure you into having the most expensive options so that was also nice. Just cant say enough good things about them!
Unbelievable experience. Our daughters wedding reception was here and we couldnt have asked for a better venue. Food was AWESOME and the staff was FANTASTIC. Highly recommend.
The people at Makoy Center were great, the room was perfect for the party. Everything was clean and sanitized. The food was better than a few restaurants Ive been to. The steak was perfectly cooked. The Vegan plates were good.
Makoy Center was the first wedding venue that we looked at and we knew that we didnt need to look anywhere else! Matt answered all of our questions and was very happy to work with us! Makoy Center made planning the wedding so easy! Matt and Clay are knowledgeable about all of the wedding details and are pleasure to work with. Erin and Jake are amazing! I was there early before the wedding and Erin helped me set up the aisle runner exactly how I wanted it. Jake was our day of wedding coordinator. Before the ceremony, I was nervous about throwing my toss bouquet and he practiced catching the bouquet a couple of times so I wouldnt be as nervous. He is very easy going, friendly, and so much fun to work with! My husband and I can not say enough how much we really appreciate the Makoy Center. The people are great, the venue is gorgeous, and the food is incredible. Any future events that we have to plan are going to be at the Makoy Center! If you want an amazing wedding, choose the Makoy Center!

Perfect wedding venue for my daughter! Everything was first class. Food and presentation was amazing. And, the staff was beyond excellent. Nick was there every second to take care of every single detail. He was the best. Everything went EXACTLY as planned. Can’t say enough good things about this venue and its staff. Highly recommend!
We have held coin shows at the Makoy Center for a number of years and have always been pleased with the high level of service from the entire staff!

I cannot recommend The Makoy Center enough! We had the pleasure of working with Matt to plan our wedding. He was fantastic, listened and understood our vision for the special day and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. The entire team made our wedding day perfect and we could not have had a better experience. We will definitely be recommending them to everyone in the future
Great place to book an event. They have a really good staff and very nice venue rooms. The food is extremely good Makoy really has one of the Best Chefs in Columbus whoever it is. Top shelf event location . 5 stars ,I will be back.
The Makoy center was absolutely everything my husband and I could have asked for, for our wedding reception. The staff especially Clay and Matt are so helpful and very quick to answer any questions. They thought of everything and made our day so special, I would highly recommend the Makoy center for any occasion!
The Makoy center was beautiful! Matt showed us around and sat down with us, he answered any and all of our questions and even sent us home with a sheet of our pricing to know what we would want and exactly how much we would spend. It was the best experience I have had while wedding planning!!
Just attended a wedding there yesterday. It was beautiful and very well put together. Bridal room could have been a bit bigger and with more mirrors for some reason only the groom room did. Nick was very attentive and when I told him he did a great job, but it looked stressful his response was very tasteful and mentioned how rewarding it was. If I had any event or wanted to have a wedding I’d definitely go here first!

Excellent venue. Comfortable and well lit. Food was good and the event staff was very polite and attentive. Definitely perfect for a wedding or reception. One negative is that drinks at the cash bar were on the pricey side. Note that I didnt book the venue myself so I have no idea about costs or affordability
I was there for my first time a week ago for my High School Reunion. It was alright. I had a good time. But there was an issue with tables. There werent enough for all the people to sit down. So they started serving salads when I noticed people standing. You need to make sure people are seated before serving. And the AC struggled to keep it cool. But the staff were nice, and friendly. They took care of the table problem. And we had a good time. All is good.
The Makoy Center is an ideal place, for not only wedding receptions, but hosting live events! I personally had the privilege to work with Clay Daniel; hes the man with a plan! I would recommend this family owned venue to anybody based off my own experiences.
Everything about our event was perfect! The staff at the Makoy Center was AMAZING! They are what set this place apart from the rest. From the planning, to the actual event, they exceeded all of my expectations! I would definitely recommend the Makoy Center for any event!
I booked my wedding ceremony and reception at the Makoy Center. Everything went really well the whole time leading up to the big day. They kept in contact and told me time and time again that they had a dedicated staff to set everything up and I wouldn’t need to worry. All of my centerpieces were different and I had a lot of decorations so I was nervous. They repeatedly told me not to worry. The day before our big day was the rehearsal which I ended up setting up almost everything. I set up all the centerpieces and my decorations on all the tables. The only thing I didn’t do was add my real flowers to the many many vases I had. My day of coordinator was to set up the flowers and I had a few of my family members showing up early to assist in making sure it was done correctly. He told me he would be starting the flowers as my family members were running late and I went about getting ready. Fast forward and he did not start setting it up, there was so much to get done and he was no where to be found. It got to the point where I was out getting the tables done as guests were arriving! Half of the guest saw me running around trying to get things done when I should’ve been in my bridal suite getting ready and relaxing. It was very stressful for me and inconsiderate of the venue seeing as they had hundreds of dollars in fees for their staff assistance. I paid hundreds of dollars for staff assistance and ended up setting everything up myself after being told they would take care of it and I need not to worry. I am very disappointed and there are other things that went wrong as well. The building is beautiful but the staff is seriously lacking.
Makoy Center is a great place for any functions you might be having. Wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, elegant part entertaining. They can suit any occasion and the prices are very reasonable. There are several different banquet rooms to suit your size needs. I highly recommend this place.

Clean venue... today, there were 2 separate shows with native american artifacts and then coins! Some great history and prehistory in the same place!
Great setup for a wedding reception but they could definitely use larger rest rooms.
Was there for the monthly Columbus coin show. Its always a place to get good deals on collectibles. I sold some items, made a trade, and bought a silver coin I wanted for a fair price. There were at least 20 dealers there so there was plenty to choose from. The location is behind old downtown Hilliard but easy enough to find and the facility is good. Ive stumbled across a archeology show and other events there too. Cool place!
I thought I left a review already but I do not see it! So here it is again!I had a great experience here! I did not have to worry about much! Catering was taken care of, I found my photovbooth vendor through the Makoy Centers tasting, I was also able to bring in outside vendors such as DJ Flugazy, Photographer Jeff Stevens and Videographer Thi Nguyen !The tour I initially received was very detailed and presented with great customer service! On my wedding day (April 2019)everyone was so enthusiastic (staff and guests alike)!The only reason I gave them 4 stars is due to location! There is a roundabout right near here and the venue is almost hidden! But other than that there are 3 rooms to choose to have your event! All are spectacular!
I dont even know where to start on how AMAZING The Makoy Center was. They were so nice and patient and helped every step of the way. They helped me with so much! The food was amazing, several guests commented on how good it was. Clay and Alyssa were awesome!! I am so happy we went with the Makoy Center! Would highly recommend!!
We were there for a wedding and the hall was beautiful! The bar staff was exceptional!! The event was catered and the food was delicious! The bathrooms could use some updating lol.

Our daughters wedding was held at the Emerald room last night Oct 1st, 2016. Our event captain Alyssa and her staff were fantastic! My wife and I were more than pleased with how smoothly everything ran. What ever we needed the Makoy center staff made sure it was taken care of. We highly recommend the Makoy center for a wedding venue.
Really nice event space, plenty of parking. Clean facilities and really friendly staff. Located in a very cute area (old Hilliard) reasonably easy to drive to; we attended a wedding of about 175 people and there was plenty of space and it was a comfortable experience.

The Makoy Center was a good venue for our Class Reunion. Its nice that it is centrally located in Hilliard and even though Old Hilliardfest was going on that day, signs were posted and easy to follow. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our needs, including setting up tables when extra people arrived. However, the elevator was difficult to operate and we had several class members who needed to use it. Also, it is not well marked. Additionally, it was somewhat awkward to have to keep walking through a wedding party that was lined up downstairs.
Great place for hosting weddings or small corporate event. We had corporate training here and the staff was very nice. Had tea, water and coffee available. Clean facilities and area overall. Convenient location .
I attended an 80th-birthday event recently [5-25-2019] at the Makoy Center. Growing up in Upper Arlington not far from McCoy Rd., I have now learned that there is more than one way to spell that word.The 80th-birthday event had included a networking time [with a cash bar], an absolutely-delicious meal [served buffet-style], a toast [with champagne or sparkling grape juice], and then a lengthy speech [so long that it had been broken into two parts divided by an intermission] by the person who had recently turned 80.When arriving at the Makoy Center, I had entered via the first door that I had seen and found myself unexpectedly in the middle of a very crowded Hispanic event with loud music. I eventually found an Emergency Exit Only door at the back of that very crowded room and thereby entered a slightly-quieter section of the Makoy Center where I found another event that obviously had been a wedding.At that point, I looked for and found a Makoy Center employee who directed me to the Mezzanine where the 80th-birthday party was being held. The Mezzanine had been a great location for the 80th-birthday party except that the only bathrooms for that room had been down a flight of steps to the first floor.As I had previously said, the food had been absolutely delicious [lasagna, chicken, au gratin potatoes, and long green beans]. The staff had efficiently organized the process of everyone getting their food [that had been served buffet style, table by table] in spite of the fact that there had been so many people there.When the birthday person began his speech, he had been surprised and disappointed by the continuous loud music, traveling through the walls [or through the floor] from one of the other events that evening, that had made it far more difficult than he had expected for guests to hear his speech. A recording of his speech had been made for YouTube; I wonder if the background music will be heard in that recording.
Matt is this best bartender. He made sure our drinks were always full. Clay made sure the whole thing ran smoothly and attended to every need from both families. If I were to have an event around the Columbus area I would choose the Makoy Center.
The Makoy Center is truly exceptional in every way. From the very beginning of planning to picking up our items the day after our event, everything was amazing. The staff is so accommodating and attentive, you can tell they really care about their guests and providing a phenomenal experience.We worked with Mikaela during the planning process and she was so great at giving us all the details and options and trying to get us the very best deal possible. She was great at contacting us regularly, especially when we were difficult to get ahold of.Clay was our event captain for the rehearsal and our actual event. We had our ceremony and reception at Makoy. Clay was a trooper when it came to our thousands of questions throughout the entire event. Clay and his staff were prepared for everything and the entire event ran seamlessly. We opted for casual seating and based on the way people sat, we needed an extra table set up last minute. The Makoy team had this setup within minutes. They did an excellent job setting up our centerpieces and photo booth and we were thankful for their help tearing down at the end of the night. I thought it was such a nice gesture that the staff made a plate for myself and nick from the buffet and carried it to our seats for us.The food is AMAZING! Chef Aaron really out did himself with our appetizers and dinner. We heard tons of compliments on the baked chicken and au gratin potatoes and requests for the top round at future family functions.Matt, the bar manager, did an excellent job with communicating with us throughout the night about our bar budget. Once our bridal party came in for the reception, he made sure we always had drinks in our hands. We had drinks delivered to our head table which was much appreciated.I could go on and on about the special things this group did for us. Nick and I couldnt have asked for anything better.

Had our corporate Christmas party here a few years. Nice location with plenty of room. They provided wifi was not usable so if you need that bring backup.

2021-11-03My husband and I hosted our wedding at the Makoy Center and it was the most magical night of our lives.Our ceremony was held outside and the reception was in the Emerald room. Between the ambiance of the Emerald room and the creative touch of our wedding planners the room was beautiful and elegant.The entire experience was awesome. The staff was helpful and easy to work with and the food was phenomenal! We highly recommend considering to host your next event here!

2022-03-27If you need any event to go off without a hitch, pick the Makoy Center. They were able to provide so much more than what other venues offered at a great price. The staff (especially Matt Clay and Stephanie) were wonderful: friendly, thorough, super flexible, went the extra mile, patient every step of the way. Best food ever too, especially the au gratin potatoes! Our wedding went perfectly, and maybe I’m biased because it was mine, but it was the best wedding I’ve ever attended. I would give more stars if I could! Thanks guys :)

2021-08-15I have hosted a few events at the Makoy Center including my own wedding reception in the Emerald Room. I will always refer people looking for a full service venue here. Matt and Clay and their entire team are responsive professionals who are thoughtful and have always gone out of their way to meet our needs or accommodate special circumstances. They have always been fully invested in our experience there at the venue and weve always been beyond pleased. The food and service are always 5 star and the property itself is well maintained and decorated. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Makoy Center. Highly recommend.

2021-04-01Nice venue, great staff, helpful and professional. We had my friends wedding there, outside. We got there 4 houra in advyand prepared everything and they helped us a lot. There was two changing rooma for bridesmaids and groomsmen. The location is lovely as well.
