I dont recommend Maias Books. I ordered and paid for books at the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh that I attended summer 2015. I have still not received the books two months later. I called several times and the voicemail box was full each time so that I could only leave a call back number. I emailed the receipts for the books and asked for an update and received no answer. I will have to see if I can get my money refunded through my credit card. GRIP refused to provide any assistance. Buy your genealogical books elsewhere.

Avoid buying from this business. If you must, pay with PayPal so you have some recourse. Bought and paid Maias for a book using PayPal, then received a receipt/confirmation but no book. Called and emailed Maias, got no response. After a month, I filed a dispute with PayPals resolution center. That day Maias rushed the book to me, with no further communication. I believe I would never have received my purchase if I hadnt filed a complaint through PayPal.The book itself is great, but would have bought it from a different business if Id googled the reviews first. Turns out that Maias has a long history of not sending purchases, and not responding to buyers who dont get their stuff.

Maias Genealogy and History Books is the shop of my dreams. If you are looking for all the new fiction thats out there, this is not the place for you. Its a beautifully curated selection of new and old, with staff picks that are spot on but not in your face. I also applaud their small press section particularly with their poetry collection. Go to shop in OH.

Didnt receive what I paid for, hoping for refund from PayPal. Purchased 2 items; paid via PayPal, received receipt. No further contact from seller and no items arrived .... 9 days later sent e-mail asking about order status. Was informed 1 of 2 items paid for had shipped same date as reply to my status inquiry. Two weeks later, still no items and no further response to inquiries.
