It took 12 minutes to be greeted and sat, out of; bugers, fries, and many other items on a Sunday at 6pm?? Jeff was amazing and a great bartender and made the absolute most of the situation. If it wasnt for Jeff we would have left within 2 seconds of hearing their selection. Jeff made the evening the most that he could have and should be commended! Bad start, with employees that clearly do not care about their job or their paying customers but Jeff was the one with a superior attitude and made us comfortable. You have a TON of work to do and would be happy to discuss in detail of we even get a reply
I personally think id have to go back k to try again. Went here on a date and she highly recommended this place. We got the Pretzel Char. Board which was tasty. I got the Raspberry Coffee Burger rare. I got it med well, if not, well done. Presentation, fries, and smell was great but this burger was so dry. Our waitress was great, I think we were one of her last taes so she checked back a lot after we finished our meals. My date was a little disappointed that I didnt have as great of an entree.Id go back another time though.
Been here multiple times. Always good. Great food and the pretzels are amazing. Very nice draft beer selection. Usually very pleased. Until last time. Took over twenty mins before we even seen our waiter. Another 10 or so before he took our drink order. It was close to 15 min when our drinks finally arrived. We ordered our dinners and never seen them. By the time we left we had been there for hour and forty mins. Three other couples arrived after us and were done eating.
Short and sweet. Very mediocre at best, had 2 local drafts at $12.00 a piece, never was there a price for these beers, fish dinner with fries and 2 sides, soup was out, coleslaw was like none that I ever had and not in a good way. Questioned the price of the beers… take it up with the owners. Never again
HORRIBLE. Woefully understaffed. Completely different experience from the other time I ate here 6 months ago. Unacceptable wait time for a place less than half full with a closed dining room. Ordered signature drink vodka lemon/raspberry shake. Only sugar was rimmed glass, tasted like lemon juice and ice. Server asked if I wanted it remade and I asked for it lemon got charged for all. Had to have them remove the appetizer that never came.
My husband and were there Sunday for dinner, waited 20 minutes for someone to offer water. Servers kept walking by, when I stopped one and asked if anyone had our table he told me he would check. 5 minutes later we got up walked past the bar where the waiter, manager, and other staff were standing and I told the server nevermind. The manager asked what happened so my husband told her, she said sorry and shrugged her shoulders. Seriously!! If you have staffing issues then you should be telling your customers when they walk in. Very poor management especially when the back of the house doesnt talk to the front.
Amazing dinner from MAGIC TREE. We have never been but We were super excited to try a new place. We are so thrilled we did. The food was amazing. We ordered the beer can chicken and it was sooo good. The skin was crispy but the chicken itself was tender and juicy. The roasted potatoes were the cherry on the cake! So good! We also got the 14 oz rib eye steak.. AMAZING! So delicious and tasty and just amazing! The fries were tasty as well. We splurged and got the 1 pound pretzel. Seriously!! It was unbelievable! Huge.... I mean HUGE. It comes with 3 sauces but we added two more. We loved everything and Magic Tree has repeat customers here!!!
There are not many places I can go out for a meal and find vegan options on the menu. I was pleased to see that a vegan section is present and that there are choices that go beyond a salad, bowl, or wrap. I enjoyed my food and our server was accomodating and polite....There is a wonderful selection of draft beers and they have a pretty good happy hour deal going on. The only negative would probably be that the price differences between some of the vegan food and other options seems unessessay. Now, I eat out because I can afford to however I do often feel a bit let down when such similar products seem to be marked up only because they are vegan or dairy free. Ill just say that regular burger with all of the add ons is about $12 and the vegan equivalent comes out to $ 16.50. Other than that, the food was good and Id probably go back to sample local draft beer over vegan mac-n- cheese.
BE PREPARED!! My husband and I waited over an hour for our meals. We were seated immediately and ordered, we watched table after table get their orders. Larger parties that arrived after us were given their food much sooner than we got ours. Some tables even finished before we received our food. After letting the manager know how long we waited, she told us that we are in Boardman, Ohio on a Saturday evening, we should be prepared to wait over an hour for food! She then with no apology, argued, made excuses and defended this service. Therefore, we will never be dining at this establishment in the future. We’ve eaten at numerous restaurants in larger cities than Boardman, Ohio and have never waited that long for food. I recommend if you plan eating out in Boardman on a Saturday evening, you go anywhere but the Magic Tree!
This is, by far, the best restaurant weve been to during our two month stay in Ohio! My only regret is not finding this place sooner. We had to make time, the night before we left, to take my in-laws so they could see, for themselves, what we had been raving about all week! They were also thoroughly impressed! The service was outstanding, as was the food. Especially the Magic 8 Ball burger! And the beer selection is amazing!? We could not have been more pleased!
Excellent food, great service and good music! First visit that wont be the last. The meatloaf was the best i have ever had! The twisted pretzel with honey mustard, maple mustard and bacon beer cheese dips were all very tasty but the beer cheese was our favorite of the three.
Humm. We are at a loss.Normally, the staff seems prepared to handle a rush but THIS evening, not so much tonight. Both seated by an attentive and personable guy with a beard who informed us our server, Emily I believe, would be right with us. So we wait. And we wait. And wait some more until the gentleman that seated us stops by, tells us our server is very busy and he proceeds to start with drinks. Thanks for noticing. And I have to admit, given a large private party in the other room, you could see that some of the servers and staff really trying to hustle, although 7 tables are not filled. That being said, not ONCE does our so called server ever acknowledge us, let alone say HI or so sorry were so busy.Eventually Carson (just got his name), the gentleman that sat us, came back after bringing our drinks and proceeded to take our order. We both ordered the Magical Meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes, which is pictured. So now we wait. Still no Emily anywhere, not even a hello but Carson went outta his way to ensure we were dealt with in a timely manner and not once did he seemed stressed about it. I have to assume he is the host, given the multiple hats we clearly see him wearing.Meal arrives and albeit has been obviously microd, it was a tasty but not without its share of hot and cold spots throughout. Thats to bad but not a total meal killer. Were both satisfied if not a bit disappointed but the gleaming light was Carson who handled everything g graciously and professionally. We want to be SURE he gets the tip since he did all the work.I really want to give them 4 starts but the lingering idea that our server never once even acknowledged us is a tough pill to swallow, busy or not. Carson just explained shes new, blah blah but THATS no reason NOT to say hello. If Carson is our server next trip and the foods not so rushed (I understand why), well definitely be back! He solely saved this trip but we still cant honestly em a 4 star rating .
I ordered the Nashville Chicken Sandwich and it was pretty amazing. Nice and spicy with a great flavor and washed it down with a local beer from one of the several beers on tap offered at this establishment. My daughter ordered a vegetarian wrap and said it was really good and tasty. I will go back to try another of their unique dishes!
The food here was really good and so was the service. If you are looking for a place with really good pretzels, this is the place. The patio is spacious and comfortable but they have a bee problem on the patio. They arent honey bees but yellow jackets. They didnt bother us at first whenwe just had our drinks but after our food came out, 2 or 3 turned into 10 and they were crawling all over everything. Aside from that, it was a very good experience. We had some vegans in our party and there were plenty of very tasty options for them as well.
The food here is amazing! We came to hear the live jazz band that they had playing on Thursday night (Esto Jazz who were also amazing) and we ended up eating dinner. I had a salad that was the best salad I think I have ever eaten. My parents loved their meals and my husband said that the wings that he ordered were the best he has ever had!
This drive across the city for the happy hour deals restaurant is a must try! Delicious food with a farm to table menu! The Cadillac sauce is to die for, the giant pretzels are a must and dont forget to choose a sweet dip! The Magic Tree has live music, beer school, a wide selection of craft beers and the bartender, Mary, obviously loves what she does behind the bar and makes a mind blowing cocktail, while giving killer service! You must give this place a go - I mean, its just soooo tasty!
Great food never disappointed but the prices are pretty rough. Expect to pay 14 dollars or more on a burger. The selection of sides to me seemed small and boring but the appetizers seem to make up for that a little bit. Over all I wish it were cheaper so I could go more often and systematically work my way through the menu.
The food has always been great, but the service was an issue 6 years ago and it seems that they still havent corrected the problem. The service was either our waiter or the kitchen staff, but Im going with our waiter, he was just absent during the meal but was prompt when it was time to pay the check. We spent an hour and a half there and it was too long between appetizers in our meal.
Stopped in here last year while a buddy and I were snowed in at the hotel down the street. Hadnt eaten anything all day, on our 6 hour miserable ride from Lima. A guy outside the nearby gas station recommended the place, and the food, atmosphere, and service were top notch. Definitely somewhere to keep in mind while in the Youngstown area.
I was excited when my food was done early though I had to remind her about the hot chips. Sorry to say I was very disappointed with my Juicy Lucy substitute. Apparently you were out of the stuffed grass fed burger but were able to get a med temp on just the grass fed burger. Unfortunately it was very over cooked and barely warm. For a $15 burger I did not feel the love.
Tuesdays special - wings (national shortage). Second choice wanted the Juicy Lucy....truck not in yet for that special meat. Probably not their fault. So anyway I got a basic burger which was really pretty good, just disappointed had to go to third choice. Id recommend telling people as yet seat them what you dont have.
Never disappointed. Phill and Sandy definitely left the tree in good hands with Rudy and Chef Reggies menu is well crafted and has us wanted to go back again and again. No Sunday liquor sales = no bloody Marys but with the selection of craft beer, you should have no problem finding something to wash your delicious meal down with. I highly recommend the PB &J burger, the bacon jam is ridiculously good!
My grandson was very excited when he heard that soft pretzels were on the menu, so we went out of our way to order the 1lb pretzel for carryout. The staff was excellent, but we were very disappointed with the pretzel. It was dark brown and VERY hard crust. The sauces were good although small sizes for such a large pretzel. We may try it again to see if this one was a fluke.
Ive been there a couple of times, once at the bar and once at a table. Service and staff was attentive and friendly both times. The salmon was honestly some of the best Ive ever had the pleasure of tasting. During another visit I ordered the 8 ball burger, which had just the right amount of kick without setting my mouth on fire. For an appetizer, I split one of their pretzels with their gouda beer cheese with my girlfriend: it was gone quickly.Honestly the atmosphere is a great place for a date and/or to chill at a bar with multiple beers on tap and watch a football game. No complaints.
I have been there several times and the food is always delicious. Last time I went, the server was helpful and hilarious, he stopped by the table the appropriate amount, and he made sure we always had drinks. There is a large patio for dining outdoors. There are plenty of vegetarian options and the soft pretzel charcuterie was incredible. If youre ever in Boardman/Youngstown area, it is definitely worth going.
My wife and I decided to stop by lastnight after I got off work. A very short wait, 15 minutes, and we got started promptly and had a very friendly server who was very attentive to our orders and drinks. The food was amazing, hot and tasted delicious. They even have military discount which is a slight plus in my book. We had the 1lb pretzel, a burger and salad, which all were very good. 10/10 would come again. Very friendly staff and atmosphere.
Where to start. The appetizer came out promptly. And thank God it did. Food took over 20 minutes to come out. And it came out cold. Ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and the top was cold crust like it sat there the entire twenty minutes before being brought out. Fries were rubbery and cold. The ranch was like water. The wings are at least hot. The excuse given, There was a big party in the other room. How’s that the other customers issue. And when they brought out a remake of the lobster Mac and cheese, it took less than five minutes. So why did we wait over twenty minutes the first time? I’m regular patron and Thai was my first time my food was horrible. Sure if they have a new cook. But I hope they fix their service.
Ive been here three times now and have yet to have a good experience. Each time, my server has been friendly, but incredibly slow. Its almost like they forgot about my table every time! On one occasion they served my brother the wrong food and the server did not apologize, just replaced it. The replacement took 45 minutes, so the rest of us were done with our meals by the time it came out. The entire time we waited for his food (a pretzel, which should not take 45 minutes) our server did not come check on us. Its as if he was too embarrassed to do so. They did not offer to take his meal off the check and they should have. I am a server at another local, and very busy, restaurant so I am typically very understanding of mistakes, but the way he handled it was not okay. The drinks are good, but the food is really bland. The menu looks amazing but the actual taste does not add up. The people I have gone with every time all agree, so we definitely sampled and disliked a large portion of the menu! Its all very bland and tastes like it can be made at home by a not-so-good cook. And the large pretzels taste like freezer pretzels that have been microwaved! I like the idea of this place, but they just dont execute properly. I will not be returning for another try.
Wanna shout out to manager Rudy for handling a bill issue for me with great professionalism and patience. He cared and got the job done!!! Also, I can never complain about the food! So good every time!!!! One wish though.... bring back that peanut butter and jelly mead!!!! lol Thanks again!!
Wings were great ribs were tough as shoe leather but they took those off the bill other than that everything was great good beer good tunes and good food would recommend if for some reason you find yourself in Youngstown Ohio which I probably wont be back to Youngstown Ohio because its Youngstown Ohio
Disappointed. Heard great things. I got a juicy loosey burger that was way over cooked. Not juicy. I mean, it may have had cheese in it, but whatever it was that came out looked terrible and tasted nothing like cheese or hamburger. The bun top did have the logo on it which was cool. My wife got a Ruben that wasnt too great. We had to wait a couple minutes for our order to be taken and a bit longer than I thought we should for our food to come out. Maybe 40 minutes. The server was nice. The place was clean. The prices were OK. Oh, and my coffee was old, burn, not fresh and didnt resemble a coffee I would want to have to pay for.
Went for the first time and was disappointed. No draft beer if any kind available. Had to settle for bottles or cans from a very ordinary selection. Tried to order wings but unavailable due to shortage which I understand. Finally settled for something else. Not crazy about settling when spending my money eating out.
The food was really good. But service is terrible. We were sitting for half an hour before someone even came to get our drink order. Then another 15 minutes to get our non alcoholic drinks. When he brought the food he just set it at th table said here and left. Probably wont be back because of the service
I had my wedding reception here and it was a great experience the waitresses were amazing the buffet was set up amazing the food was fantastic they were so helpful with the event set up and take down it was amazing!!! Its a great place to have dinner with your family or a party!
I was up in Youngstown for work and ended up coming here three times! The pretzels are huge and delicious. I had the raspberry coffee burger, the wings, a pretzel, and the Nashville chicken. I liked it all! The best part was the non-alcoholic CBD cider they had (Ottos Pineapple Passionfruit CBD). If Im ever in Youngstown again, Ill be back.
I absolutely loved this place. I always look over a restaurants menu before showing up, so I looked at this one online and thought, Oh man, we have to go here because everything sounds delicious. So we show up, all staff were masked (thank you!), we were seated quickly at 8:30 on a Friday night, and our server (gosh I wish I could remember his name but Im so awful with names) was wonderful. Its extremely rare for me to be completely torn between so many dishes on a menu, so when our server came to take our order, I literally just winged it. Got the Magic Mushroom Melt sandwich with a side of the cheesy tomato grits. HOT. GOT. DANG. Melt-in-your-mouth (literally) beef, the sweetest most delicious caramelized onions Ive ever tasted, and lots of melty cheese. Had to ask for extra horseradish sauce on the side because that sauce was also amazing. My husband got the chicken tenders with Cadillac sauce. THAT CADILLAC SAUCE!! That sauce was so dang good, we couldnt stop talking about it after we left. 😂 Get literally anything on the menu that includes the Cadillac sauce if youre a buffalo sauce fan. Overall, excellent service, excellent atmosphere, extremely excellent food, great prices, perfect portions, it was fabulous. If I had to complain about anything at all, the bathroom was hot, like no A/C. Lmao literally the only thing I could fault about this restaurant. We only make the 12+ hour drive to OH about once every 5 years, but we WILL be coming back to this restaurant each time we come back up here. Im gonna be dreaming about that food for a long time...
Went in there based on recommendations from this site. Food was atrocious. Ordered a beer cheese pretzel and had to send it back. Now i was drinking and the beer couldn’t mask that bad taste. I would’ve rather sit in my hotel room and order dominos. It was that bad. Service was awful.
1 star. My husband and I went in on a Sunday evening and as it was 91°F outside we wanted a nice cool relaxing atmosphere. Walked in to a loud, noisy, crowded area that was the same temperature inside as it was outside. They sat us in a sticky booth that was crammed up close to TWO 12 top tables. So we have 24 people right next to us. Waitress comes up and asks us what we want to drink.... being a place where they have like endless beers on tap and a bar didnt even offer or explain any drinks they had, didnt give us any recommendations, poor excuse for a waitress at a place like this. Then we asked about the A/C not working and she said she didnt know if it was and if I wanted to ask the manager to turn it down for me. Very rude. Will not be back as the place also looked filthy. Sad because we really wanted to try it out.
Wings - literally amazing. Huge wing fan but often have a difficult time finding whole, great texture bone in wings. This place has them. Great salt content in the sauce, every wing was cooked evenly and had great texture. Not soggy, not overly crunchy. Just right.Other appetizers were great as well. Its rare that you can order 3 different appetizers and all three leave you satisfied.Artichoke dip - fantastic. Creamy, cheesy. Smooth and flavorful. Even comes with a fluffy pretzel bowl.Fries? Again, perfect. Cooked well, not super crunchy and not limp. Seasoned to perfection. This place is a winner.
Server was pleasant. Salad was fresh but main course took 45 minutes to get to the table. I ordered the flat steak that comes with onion rings. I ordered it very well done. When my steak finally got to the table it looked like something that would be on a steak salad. It was still pink inside and for 20 bucks I would think I might have gotten more than three small onion rings. The plate of food looked empty and everyone at my table was disappointed in my order. I seriously doubt that we would go back. Nothing magic about this place.
Great food and always a great beer selection. One of my favorite places. My wife and I recently had our rehearsal dinner in the back room. Becky was great at handling everything and I was able to reach her by email easily. The rehearsal dinner was perfect and all of our friends and family commented on how great the taco bar was. They did a great job in helping make our weekend so perfect!
What an amazing place to eat. Our server Monica was so very astute and busy. There were numerous visits from the other staff and I believe the manager. It was so delightful to be checked on... I told my wife that I felt like we in Seattle or Portland. Brave menu well executed, for the cooks and chefs in the back (unsung heros) KUDOs.. will be back.
I used to work here and i didnt eat there because of bugs, yes this place has a bug and rat problem. The kitchen staff doesnt wear masks while they cook! I even watched the kitchen manager dropped food on the floor and put it back on the plate like nothing happened. So no Stars from me when your kitchen is not clean! Dont eat here!
First, to be fair, I was there two weeks ago and everything was good. We told friends and family go try this restaurant. I’m glad they did not yet. I was there tonight my pretzel was burnt. The waiter saw it, commented on it, but did not offer a replacement. When my food came I enjoyed the rap it was very good. However the chips that came with it were also VERY well done. So well done I could not eat them. The waiter came back and ask how everything was, I told him the wrap was good but the chips were way too well done. He said I see that, and of course the pretzel was burnt. I asked for replacement chips he did get them. I ordered one of the big pretzels to bring home and it looked not as well down in the box. However, when I got home, I can hit it on the counter and it doesn’t break. I am so sad I thought we found a new restaurant to eat at.
I was in the boardman area running errands and wanted something to eat so my children and I decided to try this place for the 1st time. We arrived at 7:26pm.....it is 8:38pm and we have not recieved any food yet. Food finally arrived at 8:42pm. The food taste really good and the waiter apologized as much as she could for the wait. Overall my experience was ruined for the time we had to wait. Im not sure we will return again.
One of the worst meals I have ever had. This is the first time I have posted of a bad experience. The waitress was good but the food was horrible. Mac and cheese was cold as if refrigerated. The simple Nashville chicken sandwich was so dry it was only edible because I was so hungry I was going under. Each of the 4 meals that we had were overcooked and dry. Still after all of this I would never had posted were it not for the managers feeble response.
Definitely a younger crowd type of place. The basic hamburger was dry and chewy( think bath towel) and the extra cost fries were dark brown (think old frying oil) which had 8 or 10 soft enough to eat. The fries were basically bits and pieces. Most managers are usually checking in on diners and moving around. This manager was stationary , talking to the beer pourer and a few waiters at the bar area. The customers were eating appetizers and the appetizers looked modern and trendy. The seventeen dollar cost was a solid nine dollar value. Waitress was fun and attentive . I would stay away from the main menu and consider it a ok to meet and drink place with food a very minor consideration. Try Stone Bridge restaurant - more price but very nice. Good luck and please - no replies from the manager stock reply gamebook.
I would give 5 stars because the food is fantastic. But our waitress was not. We had no silverware for 5 people. She visited our table 3 times and we had to physically ask to order our food. Had a to go order and was given chips instead of fries. When brought to her attention she told us the kitchen already threw out the fries and gave us a coupon for a free appetizer for next visit instead of comping something on the bill. It was overall a bad experience.
This is a very inconsistent restaurant. On our last visit, the food was very slow to come out. Although the new menu is an improvement over the old one, many of the items are still overpriced. On the other hand, they do have a good happy hour and daily specials. The burgers and wings are quite good, especially if you come on one of the special days (Monday for wings and Wednesday for burgers). The beer selection is excellent. However, we came here on election night 2020 (after watching election results here in 2016) and were told that we were not allowed to have any political (news?) stations on the TVs. I find it very disappointing that the management wont put an extremely important, national event on the TVs even at the request of paying customers. There werent even any other live events on at the time.
Wonderful pub, very crowded on St Patricks day. The food was excellent, drink prices are reasonable. There was a mix-up with our order due to the crowd and the amount of commotion going on, but the staff fixed the issue quickly and there was no problems from then on.Live entertainment was great, managed to hear them over the crowd. Great acoustics for a bar. Definitely will be visiting again!
A wonderful atmosphere and amazing food. I love coming here. They have an amazing selection of beers either on tap or bottles. The food is great and the staff is friendly and seem genuinely pleased to help you. Its unfortunate that there arent more restaurants like this in our area. Quality food and drinks and a classy environment.
Each of our visits here have been enjoyable. The service is good, just dont come here if youre in a rush. The food is always excellent. The pretzel is cooked perfectly and tastes great. The ribeye was awesome. All of the sides that weve tried are delicious. Will definitely keep this one on the list.
Came here with a large group and was ultimately not impressed at all. the large pretzel we ordered was dry and bland, and its accompanying sauces did not taste any better. most of the people in my group also ordered the pasta and meatballs dish, but nobody finished theirs because they felt theyd had better food out of a can. the best part of our meal was the salad - hard to give credit here because its hard to mess those up. service was also incredibly disjointed and slow. will not return.
They have a large variety of drinks which may be their selling point. Although their food is ok for some, I feel it lacked a little on the flavor/spice side - just needs something more. The staff is extremely friendly and like to have a good time. Definitely a place to go if youre looking to get out and be somewhere with music and fun.
Delicious food that is fresh and unique. The menu is a great collection of dishes. I had the shrimp and prone risotto, while my husband had a burger. Both were excellent! Impeccable service and staff. Love the formal dining area and the eclectic bar. Cant wait to try the outside seating soon!
Hip and popular, very busy. Wine menu was sticky as were the table condiments. Corona in bottle moderately cold. Food was not bad, but not great. They ruined a beautiful brioche bun by branding it in a toaster with their logo. Result was s hard bun. Best part was our server who checked in with us multiple times during the meal. Service and meal delivery was quick. Its about a 30 minute drive for us, and we probably wont be back.
There arent very many meat free/dairy free options, but what they do offer is still very tasty. Everything is marked if its gluten free or vegetarian friendly (though it is assuming that youre a vegetarian who eats eggs). The servers have always been polite and friendly when weve gone so Im sure theyd have no problem with specific requests (i.e. the Impossible burger with no brie if youre vegan). Great beer selection.
The food is really good and atmosphere is nice. They have a great selection of beer and wine. The appetizers are always a great option when you are going out with your friends for a couple drinks! They always have the games on and TVs are everywhere. Throughout the summer music is playing live out side ! Service is good as well.
Our waiter was very nice. Food not so good. Although they were busy with a large party it should not have affected the food. I got the Mediterranean portabello sandwich and the roasted peppers were missing. Not much taste to it. As for the side, I got the roasted cauliflower. NO taste at all. It was as if it was from one of the steam in the bag type. Did they forget the seasoning???? This was the second time I have tried this place and probably the last. I will say, a friend of mine goes here and loves it. So you should at least give it a try.
Was excited to try it. My husband and I enjoy a good craft beer menu. Took forever for server to arrive and we waited a very long time for our food. Dont mind waiting for quality food and dont mind paying a high price for a great meal but we received neither. Food was disappointing and beer menu couldnt save the evening. After reading the other reviews, Im glad I didnt tell someone about it....especially if the manager was the man standing up against the large menu wall with his arms crossed.....scowling at the dining room for the entire duration of our visit. Maybe he is the reason that none of the waitresses smiled? Anyway......really disappointed and wont be back.
The food was really good but the price is a step up from what it should be, especially for the dessert. The service was pretty decent and the draft list is fantastic though! It was also super cute that that brand a tree into the bun of the burgers.*side note* It doesnt apply to me but I love that everything lists if its gluten free or vegetarian.
Magic Tree will become your new favorite restaurant after your first experience there. Many craft beers on tap with 1/2 price happy hour from 3-6:30. Entrees are some unusual combinations of food, with some amazing daily specials that are always changing. The place is loaded with high top tables and a garage door that opens to the patio making this place feel more like a party than just a place to eat. Staff is energetic and well trained on what is being served.
Loved the food here before the change. Great selection of beers. Change the menu back and it would be a 5 star review. Last time we were there, which was 3 days ago, the cauliflower was cold and under cooked, on the Reuben sandwich the bread was so hard you couldnt even break it with your hands let alone bite it. The selection has dropped and alot of favorites are no longer on the menu. Magic Tree was one of my favorite restaurants and I am sad to say that it will be a while before I return.
I do not like to leave negative reviews, but I felt compelled to do so with this place. Came in with a party of ten and was sat at a table. We ordered drinks and two flights of beer, one flight was delivered after a few minutes, after about half an hour I had to go up to the bar to get the other one which had been sitting there getting warm. Appetizers came out relatively quick and the food was decent. The problem besides never being delivered the one flight of beer is from the time we sat down to when we actually got our meals we waited for two hours. We asked about our food and was told they would get the manager, we then received our food. The manager came over after we got halfway through our food and was not friendly or nice at all, and we didnt feel the need to complain since we had just gotten our food. At the point we got our food we were ready to request the check for the items we had received and pick up a pizza from somewhere else. The only explanation we got was large parties take longer, if you have a party larger then ten, I guess plan on wasting half your day there according to their excuses.
Great place for lunch with large groups or dining alone. Patio dining or inside. Great selection of craft beers and local beer. Excellent wine selection. They have private rooms for any occasion to meet your needs. Food is great. Meets the needs of the Older Generation as well as the Young people.
***EDIT***I was fully prepared to revise my review appropriately after response from the magic tree. However, after sending my information I heard nothing from them so I am dropping my review from two stars to one and will no longer be patronizing their establishment. I have found superior service and food at BJ’s Brewery nearby and also the Crane Room in New Castle Pennsylvania among other great places to eat, enjoy, and spend my hard earned dollars.I have stopped many times to take food home to my family, but never ate in the restaurant - we love the food. We recently attended the Paint & Sip event and had family meet us there afterwards. It took forever for us to get our drink/beer orders once we put them in for each drink ordered. Two of us ordered the haddock sandwich which boasts about its house made tartar sauce on the menu, only to receive the sandwich sans tartar sauce and having to ask for it. I also ordered a burger with fries to take home and when they brought it out there were chips in the takeout container instead of fries. It was closing time, so they apologized and gave me a coupon for a free appetizer when I come back instead. It was just an all around disappointing experience dining in-house at The Magic Tree for the first time.
The waitress Sarah was so sweet and patient. We have never been here before so it took awhile to order. She kept coming back with a smile and a kind greeting. The food was so good and came up real fast, great job grill team. All together y’all have a 4.8 in my book. Can’t wait to come back when we are back in town.
Stopped in for a bite while I was traveling through town. I got a burger which was cooked well and the the branding on the bun was neat but the burger itself was just OK. The cheesecake is amazing though, definitely save room. Service was OK - no issues but a little slow.
Not a good experience. They messed up the beer I ordered, not once, but twice, because the keg had kicked and the wait staff wasnt told or forgot. The wait for food was exorbitantly long. When the food finally arrived, my short ribs were luke warm with cold gravy. The mashed potatoes were also luke warm and they were gray in color. The manager apologized and said the kitchen was slammed, but as I looked around the restaurant, the place was really not that busy. Lastly our server screwed up our bill twice.
Had my first experience here, and I was NOT let down. We ordered their home made chicken tenders and waffle chicken as entrees. The appetizer we had was prezchetta which is bruschetta on pretzel bread. Everything was 100% great. Nice staff, lots of seating, large drink selection. Portions are big. Couldn’t have had a better experience.
Beer selection is great. The staff is fantastic. Mat and Mary are great bartenders, know a lot about beer. Neesh and Harley provided me with fantastic service. Try the chicken, its always local. Phil and Sandy are great owners, Phil came over and gave me a great overview of the restaurant.I give my whole-hearted recommendation to this establishment not only because of the quality but because they support local growers and sustainability.
Awesome place! $10 for a flight of six is a nice way to sample all of the good stuff on the tap list, which is quite large. Their grilled green beans are frickin awesome, too! (And this place is just a short walk from Vintage Estate, which has over 1,200 bottled beers and their own bar as well. We always make a day of visiting both.)
One of my favorite local restaurants. Their pretzel is to die for and the sauces for dipping are excellent. I also enjoy ther appetizers, especially the fried picks chips. Plus the appetizers are half priced from 4-7.As far as entrees, I would highly recommend the waffle chicken with the whipped sweet potato. It is my personal favorite.
Their beer and bourbon selection is top notch, the eclectic food choices are well done, and Nichole was an awesome server – I really enjoyed my experience! The pub side is super cool and I like the hippie vibe. The restaurant side could you some design suggestions as its a little plain and still feels like a chain restaurant as its obvious from the outside it used to be one. However, its not bad and this place totally dwarves 5 stars!🤘
We were disappointed with the quality of the food. As a vegan I was hopeful of finding a decent meal, but the fries came out cold and soggy, and when they brought fresh ones, still soggy. Even their Impossible Burger was so-so; I’ve had it prepared way better at other restaurants. We went out of our way to try this place; would not do so again.
My husband had been wanting to eat here for a while so we went on a Thursday evening. I love the look of the place. Its a pretty cool pub with great atmosphere & the service was great. My husbands reuben was good. I didnt enjoy the food, but it was probably because im more a fan of comfort food. I had to add 3 pats of butter to my potatoes & my wrap was a bit bland. On the upside, they had great happy hour prices on wine & craft beer as well as appetizers. All in all, it was a great place.
The Brewmaster Burger and the Black and Blue Burger are amazing, the best burgers Ive ever had. They also make in-house chips that are great. Also, the selection of beers on tap is extensive. George is an awesome bartender, very personable and attentive. My new watering hole while Im in town for work. The wait isnt bad on the bar side, I dont know about the restaurant side; but you have to take in to account how busy they are and trust me it is worth the wait.
I have gotten several lunches here over the last several weeks and the food was top notch, great burgers and they offer gluten free buns which is a huge plus for me because its so hard to find. They are a bit pricy but I was glad to pay it to get a good meal. Having said that last night I ordered dinner there and had it delivered through Grub Hub, it was terrible. I ordered by burger medium and to say it was well done is an understatement. The cheese was black, the bun wasnt toasted (it says it is in the menu description) and with gluten free buns if you dont toast them they fall apart which mine did. I had to toast my own bun and put the burger on my own bun. I was very disassapointed.
When you read their menu, they have the #bestfriedchickentendersever, IT IS TRUTH! My husband and I eat here everytime we are in Boardman. The raspberry BBQ sauce is our favorite. We have even bought pints of it to bring home. We are not beer drinkers so we dont partake in the experience here but they have lots of drafts and the place is always packed. We have also highly recommended this to our friends as well.
Fun atmosphere and decor. My husband really loved the craft beer selection, and even bought one of their cans to bring home (they pour it from draft and seal it in front of you). The food was really good. My husband enjoyed his chicken and I ordered the vegetarian portobello and spinach on bun even though im not vegetarian. It was tasty and I would order it again! There is entertainment and specials almost every night of the week, and the seats are comfortable even for larger patrons. We will be visiting again!
Once a great place, its now simply average at best. If you know anything about drafts, you can easily tell their draft system is not the best. The temperature is off, the lines arent the cleanest and you can definitely tell when they recently switched kegs.If youre looking for good draft beer, I highly recommend The Casual Pint, which is down the street, or Whistle & Keg, which is a short drive in Downtown Youngstown.
Service was great, but I had the worst wings of my life. Ive had plenty of bad wings before but these really lowered the bar. Two of us ordered wings and we both threw away almost all of them. Hopefully this was out of the norm, but the rest of our table also complained about their (non-wing) food.If the service wasnt so good this would have been a one-star.
Really can be a lot of fun when they have entertainment especially Carlos Jones! Its quite loud when theres entertainment , just a heads up. Awesome patio and the meal I had last time, the grilled chicken over greens, which ended up being sauteed spinach , and chickpea side dish was absolutely delicious and very healthy!
Excellent beer selection. Decent happy hour. Somewhat pricey for the level of entrées. Wings are way above average. Best Ive had at a restaurant, by far. Super fresh, crispy fries. Fresh, creative salads. Nice menu with in season ingredients. Great place with a great owner who cares about the product.
The Magic Tree is THE place to Eat, Drink, and CELEBRATE!From a friendly staff, to great food, and great drinks, theres something for everyone here.Warm and sunny? Sit on the patio, smoke a cigar, and sip on a nice SoCo Punch!Need to celebrate a birthday? Reserve a room!Want to catch a game? Sit at the bar and watch it while snacking on great appetizers and amazing craft beers!Like Jazz? Thursday nights wine is half off and you can sit back and listen to local bands. The staff is so accommodating and youll leave with a smile on your face!Stop by and you wont regret it.
Of all the places around, glad I chose here today. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is uniquely designed and decked out in purples and greens. The trees out front even, as the name suggests, are magic and have a nice purple glow. They have a lot of interesting menu items. Will probably have to come back here again to try something new. They had a Chimichurri chicken sandwich on special which was good. Portions were well sized and tasty.
I was in your restaurant today and to my surprise i got a drinking glass with lipstick on it which wasn’t mine AFTER i was already drinking out of it ..with covid going on i am very disgusted and displeased ..and all i was offered was a free glass a wine. The manager did nothing to rectify the situation..
Some Like It Hot was by far the best chicken sandwich Ive had, and Ive had a lot of 🐔 sandys. I come from a place where micro brewerys are hot, so its nice to see a lot of local craft beers on tap as well! Actually almost everything on the menu was locally sourced . . (Great food quality) keep it up Magic Tree!! I will definitely be back 🌲 😋 🍻
This a good place to grab a bite to eat and watch your favorite sporting events on TV. There is restaurant side that offers a good menu and some quieter dinning with good service. On certain nights and weekends one can here a live band and enjoy the performance of region entertainers. Come and have fun with friends and family.

2022-05-22If you want an amazing, delicious meal then you need to check out Magic Tree Pub & Eatery in Boardman, OH. They have a pretty patio with see through tarps and and statues inside is just as nice. They have a variety of foods on their menu, salads, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, wings, and they even have vegan/vegetarian options and gluten free buns. Lots of drink options including a bar just for Belgian beers and they offer a 1 pound, huge pretzel. Food was amazing!7463 South Ave, Youngstown, OH 44512

2022-05-22This is a great place. The staff provide a quality experience and the menu offers a lot of choices that make it difficult to choose. It’s obvious they care about their craft.Pretzels are their thing and I definitely recommend them. I would skip the charcuterie pretzel because it’s presentation was just lacking - cheese slices over a pretzel with the some meat. The entree didn’t live up to the description. But the pretzels are good and must be tried. This place has really good chicken fingers for the kids. Many places serve subpar fingers and this place DOES NOT. As an adult I’d be tempted to get an order for myself.Salads are top notch. We came with a large crowd and every left very very happy.

2022-05-14Food is amazing, this business commits to quality by having locally sourced ingredients and making food to order, with lots of options for vegetarian/vegan/gluten free dietary preferences. The extensive beer and wine list ensures theres something for everyone, and the house cocktails are dangerously good. Blue pixie stix might be my new favorite, but if you are a local I have to recommend the lemon shakes if for no other reason than the nostalgia factor. Our server was so sweet, and on point even while juggling a 10 top. I cant wait to come back.If I could suggest anything to improve, it would be the a little dusting in the bathroom and reconsider the native american caricature at the door.

2022-05-18Third time I’ve given it a try. Twice we walked out because no one waited on us and it was empty. Tonight it’s now 2 hours and as we speak we’ve gotten appetizers and still no food and have 2 kids with us as well. Edamame was burnt, got the wrong fries app and it was terrible, pretzel was stone cold and I can’t say about our party of 5 dinner because well.. at almost 9pm We haven’t gotten it yet. So sad, years ago it was great but it’s the pits now.

2021-08-27The food was really good, especially the pretzel! We just got a personal size one to share. Neither of us particularly cared for the smoked Gouda beer cheese - way too smoky for my taste. My boyfriend wanted the lobster Mac & cheese, but they were out, so he had to choose something else. My burger was great and the hand cut fries were awesome - probably best with vinegar? The only downside was that we chose to eat outside and it took at least 10-15min for the waitress to come over. The table we sat at also ended up pretty dark as there was no lighting nearby (the patio was fairly busy when we first went out, so we took a table in a corner).

2022-05-24Food is good, beer list has been lacking the past few years (even before Covid). I don’t care for some of the changes to the menu recently. They took the best sandwich on the menu off, the Nashville chicken/somelikeithot. Miss some of the old items and the new ones don’t hold up.Still a great place, great staff, excellent owner. Miss some of the old items but it is what it is.
