Visited this location last night and was not impressed! First off it was Fajita night, fajita special for 9.99, so that is what we ordered. We got that, a side of Guac, a margarita and a beer. The waiter brought out a HUGE margarita and beer, fajitas and guac very quickly. At the end, when we received our bill, the fajitas were 16.99, beer 5.00, margarita 12.00 & Guac 6.50. First off we had to argue with the waiter over the fajitas, he said we should have specified the special when ordering, even though the board didnt say that. Second of all we didnt order a MONSTER $12.00 margarita, nor did he ask if that is what we wanted, he just brought it out. Third, the Guac clearly said 4.25 in the menu, yet we were charged 6.50! Clearly trying to overcharge and pad their bills, and we will not go back!!
First off I’m not entirely sure if it’s supposed to be an Americanized Mexican restaurant or no because it definitely did not taste authentic. The tortillas you could tell were mass purchased and not homemade. They didn’t fry the tortilla for the tacos so it was a stiff taco. The Al pastor had bacon in it so all you could taste was bacon. They did not have any salsa like salsa verde or rojo para picante or hot sauce. The tamales were very good but the sauce used is for mole and it shouldn’t of been used for the tamales. The tamales would’ve been much better dry, or with a red or green sauce like salsa. I do have to say that the service was very well the server was polite and respectful but the food honestly eh.
Excellent food and service. A++ Just stopped in for a quick bite for dinner. Great special on chimichangas and delicious drinks. Bartender is the best! Thanks, brother!

This place was amazing, the interior would leave you thinking you walked into Mexico, the food was great the staff was great. Their proportions are super generous especially for the price. Had a great time there with our party of 7, who were very easily accommodated.
Wow the food was great and full of flavor. Service was good and the place was very clean. Lots of awesome decor. Definitely one of the best places for mexician food around Youngstown.
They have an amazing coleslaw like thing they give you with the chips and salsa that is great. Have had a few things on the menu and never disappointed. Our server was slow and distracted last time. We were some of the last in there and were trying to pay bill to leave and she didnt come for a long time. But over all was a good experience will be back.
Beware: prices on menu do not match your bill. Specials drinks on billboard as you walk in the door are way less than when you get your bill. They are bate & switch restaurant.
Went with a friend, both of our meals were super salty but edible, I got the wet burritos one beef one chicken the beef one tasted like one of those frozen burritos the chicken one was alright except the super salty taste that everything on the plate had. Didn’t really taste fresh or made to order, probably will not visit here for Mexican again. Nice portion sizes though I did not leave hungry, overpriced for what the quality is

Food is great as always, but the last two experiences have involved horrible service. Very rude, forgets your existence and does not put you as a top priority.

Very good tonight...was fairly busy but got seated right away & had the best server! She made mine & my friends experience very nice. Kept our drinks(non-alcoholic) filled, didnt keep interrupting & got even the pickest order correct! Great experience!
We were fortunate enough to have our neighbor Iris for our server and she went above and beyond to make sure our experience was a great one. She definitely succeeded! Great food! Great people!
Lots of food. Plenty of food for the price. Good variety on the menu. Waitress was very friendly and made a big fuss over the kids. Definitely will be back.
So sorry to say but it was terrible. The food was terrible. The waiter was in such a hurry he seemed like he didnt want to listen to our order. .😔 Our bill was 90.00 we wont be going back.

We got the shrimp and chicken fajitas and OMG. Best fajitas I’ve ever had in my life without a doubt. This place blew my expectations big time. The food was absolutely delicious and all the staff were extremely friendly with a smile on their face the whole time.
I have been in the area for a few days for work and I wish I knew this place was here from day one. I would have been coming here every day. I will definitely be coming back for dinner every night until I leave the area. The food is very excellent, and the staff are great. The place was not crowded and the atmosphere is welcoming.
Always enjoy their food. Great fajitas and tacos. Salsa and chips also come with Cole slaw...dont knock it until you try it. Reccomend

This authentic Mexican restaurant has food options Ive never seen at other Mexican restaurants. The aesthetics are rich with uniqueness. The atmosphere was fun & laid-back, laced with unstuffy professionalism. Chips-n-salsa are brought straightway to your table along with the best coleslaw I have ever had in my lifetime, so far. I had the guacamole salad, which I most definitely recommend for $8.99. My dinner guest ordered a burrito dinner that was absolutely humongous for $13.99! A definite recommendation for your next dinner date or company meeting!

My husband and I went here tonight for dinner and was told how amazing it was. Well I can say i will never ever come back here again. We were charged double for wings and told after when the bill came that there is a shortage and that is why okay cool should of started with that then my husband did not like them and told the waiter that and he said nothing about it just took them and walked away. I later called to talk to the manger and tell him about our experience and hopfully correct his actions with the next people so it does not happen again. And the response I got was so beyond rude......update the person who waited on us and was so very rude on the phone telling me he was the manger was not the manager my husband talked to the manger and he apologized for the behaviour of his staff member and said that he would have a conversation with him to correct his attitude. So thank you !!. Changed from 1 star to 4
I have eaten alot of Mexican and this place is hands down the best I have ever had ,if you traveling the turnpike and want to stop for a great meal swing by this place

Ordered wings today, they were just awful! $17.99 for wings that clearly were not made today. Heated up tossed in the requested sauce and sent out for consumption. This is not the first time. I believe in giving food service providers a second and even a third chance understanding the difficulties of the current industry. However, keeping food refrigerated overnight and reselling the following day as freshly made in order to reduce food costs is just plain unacceptable as it appears this is the case based on the texture of the wings! What else on the menu might be subject to this policy? NO STARS AND NO MORE PURCASES FROM LOS GALLOS!
We love mexican food and traveling through Ohio we took a chance and stopped in for dinner. Was so impressed with the beautiful decor and cushy seats at our booth! Margarita was yummy!! Loved the chips, salsa and coleslaw!! We will definitely make it a point to travel back out!!!!

My boyfriend and I go almost every week or every two weeks, prices are great, employees are great. We have never had a problem with this los gallos and even some waiters remember our faces ! Just love it
Worst service and poor food. Took 30 minutes and a trip to tell the hostess to get our drink order placed. The food tasted burnt and not seasoned. It didnt even taste like mexican food. We would have rather went to Taco Bell. We were never checked on or asked if we wanted refills, although we were charged $3 a drink. To top it off we were overcharged for the meals we ordered, and more than what the menu had them.
Used to be our favorite Mexican restaurant but now the food is not near what it used to be. Steak tacos now are not real cut up pieces of steak anymore it was more like Philly steak meat and had grease running out of them. I literally got sick at my stomach after eating them.
They have amazing food, great staff and clean and inviting atmosphere cant wait to go back.
Good food at a clean establishment.During my visit in October 2020, I saw the extra effort to keep the place a safe environment during the pandemic.Very friendly staff and I have never been disappointed with the food and generous portions. Glad to see the place doing business during this time.
Came in for dinner one evening. Service was great, the food was delicious, the portions were huge. We all left happy. Also, they served their chips and salsa with a bowl of cole slaw which I had never had before. It was really good!
We had a party of 13. The waiter did an excellent job and the food was delicious. Most of us got wings and the flavors were outstanding and they were golden crispy.

Very nice. Asked to be seated outside and accommodated. Waitress came quickly with chips and salsa ( yummy ) and then our order. Food came out quickly with all alterations made. Food was very good!!
Came here with my family and could not have been more disappointed. When we arrived, there was no one else there, but somehow it took 1.5 hours for our food to arrive. When it did arrive, it was cold. The flavors were there, but cold food is never desirable. The waitress did not check in with us at all. I was embarrassed that I suggested this restaurant to our group and will not be coming back. Very sad!
Oh my God our server was the best server Ive ever had he was very intentative whenever we were down to our last two sips of Cold Lemonade he would come and refill it he would make sure that everything that we needed was taken care of before having to ask... and didnt feel as though he was hovering over us the food was out of this world excellent in the bathrooms were very clean
I usually highly recommend Los Gallos in North Lima Ohio, but the last two times we have gone it wasnt as good as before.. tonight I got steak fajitas and the steak was burnt!! Before the steak was cut in thicker strips and the food was always good. Tonight the steak was paper thin and burnt. Such a disappointment.
If you order from here using grub hub it will be botched. Theyve never sent me a correct order. Ill never order from them again. The establishment is clown shoes.
We had a terrible experience at the Boardman location and was very nervous to try this one out. The customer service was so much better at the North Lima location. Was very kind towards my kids and we had our food and drinks within 15 minutes. Fresh, hot food and very pretty restaurant.
Very warm and welcoming atmosphere. All the staff were friendly and checked often if we needed anything. You can tell it is a very well run business and that the staff is like family. I felt very comfortable there, like we were well received guests. Customer service was top notch! The food was hot and delicious. We will definitely be back. Thank you to the owners and staff for such a lovely dining experience and for taking pride in your restaurant!

Perfect spot to eat before the turnpike. BEAUTIFUL atmosphere. Very clean. Such a friendly staff too, our waiter split up a desert so we could avoid a toddler meltdown. Lol the food was absolutely delicious, large amount for the price especially the lunch menu! We will make it back.

Only ate there once, so this is a one time snapshot.Taco Tuesdays is a great deal! $2 tacos - any kind. Had some steak tacos and shrimp tacos. Each very good. If I lived around here, Id be back to try more stuff on the menu.Festive decor, too.

Good margaritas, definitely a no on the coleslaw and chips. Salsa was tasteless and waterery and the rest of dinner was pretty much the same. Very friendly staff and a pretty restaurant, awesome patio.
Besides the food being very good, the remodel was excellent more space for the band and dancing and tables and a nice new bar! Hats off to the security that keeps everything in check including the masks if youre up and moving around! And the paintings on the wall were done by a master,
Great Mexican food, and a great atmosphere at both Boardman locations! We went to the one on Market Street (7) the other day, been a while, and I was pleasantly surprised that they yanked the cilantro (yuck) from the salsa, and actually added heat to it!So what I was kinda dreading, turned out to be superb!! 5 STARS!
This authentic Mexican restaurant has such a cozy atmosphere. You can dine inside, or outside-under a covered patio, or you can even sit at the bar. This restaurant has so much character and art work; from the carved wooden & colorful booths to the uniquely weaved chairs and colorful decor. The food is delicious, and is served hot and fast. The salsa, chips, and slaw- just yum! Now im craving it! :) Im posting a cute pic that shows a part of the restaurants character.
We absolutely love this Los Gallos Mexican Restaurant. When youre looking for authentic Mexican cuisine, stop here. The food is always great, and the service is always phenomenal too. This restaurant has an atmosphere of a traditional Mexican restaurant. The margaritas are a great choice.

Best Mexican food I have ever had hands down. Their beers are huge, ice cold and priced amazingly! The chips, salsa and coleslaw yes coleslaw is to die for and super fresh! Portions are large. And food is great you will never leave hungry or unsatisfied!
Went to meet my neice and her shrimp tacos were aweful I ordered chips and salsa to go they were store chips not even the ones they serve at the table. Since covid staff has changed and not for the good and service is not great Food has gone day down hill. Which is sad because we used to go every week :(

Always given a great review but its been two times in a row that my carry out purchases have been missing something. Today I didnt get my corn tortillas for my dinner and also didnt get the spciy tomatillo salsa I always get for my dinner. I understand the dinner says cheese sauce but I always have it replaced with a spciy tomatillo salsa and its been twice now that its been missing. Also, this last time the hostess answering the phone seemed annoyed but working in customer service myself, it wasnt to a rude level but something Ive never experienced before. Im hoping the next time I order this doesnt happen again.
Im giving this place a 4 star because I believe the potential for it to be great is there and the locals obviously dig it. Its a very big place so once it gets going in betting its popular for fun and drinks. They were just opening for the day when we arrived so we waited outside on a really cool front porch with a retro glider, loved it. Once we were seated and ordered they brought us chips and salsa as youd expect, but hey an interesting twist coleslaw for dipping as well. At first the coleslaw was a bit confusing but it ended up being kind of a cool touch. The food was okay, not wow worthy but the lunch portions were generous. Prices are pretty average for what we got. Overall, I probably wouldnt choose this place again but it was an okay experience.
This was the worst Mexican food I have ever had. Im from Mexican Town in Detroit so I have high standards when it come to this kinda food. There service was fantastic atmosphere was great.
Food was great, well what we recieved. We ordered ceviche to start, and then our entrees. Entrees came out before appetizer. So I asked the server to just cancel that order. Drink got refilled once we were done with our meal, but I noticed our server was busy on her phone for about 5 minutes. Food was awesome, but we waited again for our server to bring our check. The check had the ceviche still on it so I walked up to the bar where my server was again on her phone. Unacceptable for service standard, food was better than expected. Service like this will keep people from coming back.

Los Gallos is, so far, the best restaurant experience Ive had in Ohio. The atmosphere is on point, the food is delicious, especially the chips and dips. Staff are amazingly friendly! I cant remember what all we got but we had plenty left over to take home and eat two more meals. This is definitely a place Ill be returning to and worth all five of those stars

Lets start by stating Im. A morning/day person never a night person so the atmosphere was horrible.. not the fault of the restaurant. I used to eat here all the time. Yesterday was the last.. dont know if they tried to make it more authentic but the food was terrible.. first..... get rid of the non Mexican staff.. they are terrible and dont know the menu or the language.. go back to the reg menu. My carnitas was awful and dry. The drinks........ smh. Much better menus and authenticity around the area now. Shame they changed whatever they did..
Waited over an hour and a half for our food. Groups of people that came in after us got their food before us. We talked to the manager 4 times and they just said that the kitchen was backed up. They didnt even comp us on anything or give a small discount for waiting forever. The food was ok but only warm when it came out too.

I dine here often. Sometimes the service is slower when theyre busy but the amazing food always more than makes up for it. Prices are reasonable & this location and the 224 @west Blvd locations are easily the best Authentic Mexican in the Mahoning Valley. 👍 *Fat Guy Approved*
I go to los gallos because its very close to my house and relatively inexpensive however my experiences are very mixed. When the first opened it was great and my family frequented the establishment. But as years pass quality has gone down hill. The food often seems very cheap on occasion it is overly salty. Last time i went I braved a seafood burrito off some sort and couldnt even identify all of the ingredients. Mystery seafood is no bueno. The alcohol seems to be hit and miss as well, some nights 1 margarita is enough to catch a buzz other nights a whole pitcher can leave you sober. One highlight is the wait staff us always very friendly.

Good service and very good food. Beer menu isnt as good as the location on 224. If I had a complaint, its that the good came out TOO fast. Barely got to settle in before it arrived. Still highly recommended.

Their wings area amazing and their beer is always flowing. I didnt think of a mexican restaurant as a place I would go to for wings, but they are huge and slathered in sauce. Their tall beer is served ice cold in chilled glasses and their service is great. I reccomend their bourbon glaze on the wings. Highly recommended.
Good service, great slaw for the chips.Food about the same as most other Mexican Im the area. Downfall: alot of extra charges and no substitution between rice and beans is kind of ridiculous.
We eat hear often and enjoy it since its roomy and not as busy as other places. Food is better than average.
Food was good...service was not. Paid $8 for a drink that was undrinkable. One sip and asked for water. Manager said he could not take it off or replace. Waitress was rude. Liked the food but wont go back after this. Shame..it was f irst visit there..wont be a return thats for sure.

I love the decor, relaxed atmosphere and the veggie fajitas! The drinks are amazing and I suggest the Skittles margarita if you like fruity and colorful! Def worth the money!

Very large menu, makes it hard to choose. Been here 3 times, hands down the best mexican food Ive had. Ashley is a very cool waitress! I will eat here whenever Im in town for work! Great job guys!
We LOVE the Boardman location! But this was my 1st time at the North Lima restaurant. The food was good, but not as good as in Boardman; Boardmans food is on another level! My biggest issue was the service. It was extremely slow. Ive never had that experience at the Boardman location. My suggestion is that you drive a little further & head to their Boardman location 😊
Bad service, the waitress didnt bring back our drinks she took to refill, never brought my brothers food until asked (after the other 5 of us ate), and she never returned my change. She gave everyones cards back and kept my change. Food was good.
Horrible experience. Got sat at 6:00 and waited an hour with our drinks and the waiter still didnt take our food order, walked past us, ignored us, and other tables that arrived AFTER us received their food. SO disappointing and I will never return to this Los Gallos.

Greatest taco Tuesday in town. I am there every Tuesday. My favorite at the shrimp tacos and steak tacos. The rest of their menu is spot on also. Their chips and salsa are a little shocking at first because it served with coleslaw. But it works.
I ordered off GrubHub and didnt receive chips and salsa or coleslaw. Manger didnt seem to care. Food was good.
Don’t waste your time and money! I’ve eaten here before and the food was not that great! Extreamly rude service by older white male with glasses! Tried to dine here tonight with table of 10 (hundreds of dollars in business) and was told by friendly hostes that it would be just a few minutes. Then white male came over saying he didn’t have a table and wouldn’t have one for over 30 mins then after 15 mins said it was going to be over 40 mins as we observed several 8 top tables open (could of pulled up 2 more chairs) extreamly rude service here. So we left and they lost several hundred dollars!!!

It was taco Tuesday, 2 dollars each.. cheaper to order off the menu, no special here. Wanted to up charge of three dollars for ordering a third round of complimentary chips for a table of 5. I will never be back, service sucked

Caution: They did away with their Sunday 50-cent wing special a couple weeks ago, servers wont tell you this. Tall domestics are 5.00.

I have been eating here for years and they always have the friendliest staff and the last month their food has been better than ever.
I understand it was Cinco de Mayo but we were given a wait time of 40 minutes. That turned into over an hour and 10 minutes. We got our drinks and placed the order. An hour and 40 minutes at the table and we had no food. People who were seated after us were already finished. The only thing we were told was sorry.
The fajita I ordered wasnt as good as usual. .the meat wasnt seared enough and not as sizzling as in past...also ordere d a little extra cheese sauce for my wifes chicken dish and was charged an additional 4.00 for a cheese dip..not a great visit this time. .

Food Great... Service horrible. Manager claim he couldnt understand what a Chicken quesadilla was. Had to send my order back 2 times before I asked to take it off my bill.

Staff are rude with bad attitudes at the north Lima location and the skillet I got at the Canfield location had nearly one cup of what looked like water resting at the bottom of the skillet so the food was soaked in greasy water.
Great lunchtime atmosphere. Mg food was delicious, including the half I brought home and reheated the next day. Highly recommend the Enchilada Ranchera.

Arrived at 1030pm. Online it says they are open until midnight. We sit down and they say food closes at 11, bar at 12.. . Then turn around and say they close at 11, even though the sign on the door says they are open till midnight. They say oh Ive been meaning to change that for awhile uhh seriously?? Staff was standing around not doing anything,. Definitely did not want the business.
Come for the food and stay for the margaritas, update 5-5-19 do not go here they are rude and the place has just gone downhill and is not worth going to anymore. Food was burnt, margaritas were terrible, wait was terrible, and the staff was even worse including the manager.
Los Gallos is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. There is nothing on the menu that I havent liked. The prices are good and so is the service.
Im a jamaican and Ive honestly never had Mexican food before but I went to this place with my wife and the food was amazing, serving was so welcoming, its just a wonderful place with delicious food... 😁

Best Mexican food around!Their appetizer platter gives you a taste of 4 or 5 delicious dishes, and the slaw salsa is crazy good 😁

2022-07-03I ordered the tacos for dinner, al pastor and carnitas. Both types are fantastic, Id order them without cheese or cheese on the side. I was absolutely stuffed for a $13 plate(beans and rice are not pictured), the tacos were loaded with meat. Havent been here in years, but the food was fantastic and Ill be sure to not wait as long for my next visit.

2022-06-12Our visit today was one of mixed emotions. We were promptly seated since it was very slow and our server took our drink orders (we each ordered a margarita and a water) right away. She came back with the margaritas and we reminded her again about the waters. She took our food order, still didnt bring the waters. Brought our good.... you guessed it.... no water. Finally my husband asked firmly for her to bring the water. She finally did, but never returned to the table until it was time for the check. Never came back to make sure that our food was to our liking, which it was delicious as always. The other thing that was a little off putting was there were other servers sitting in our section on their phones. This would not have bothered me normally but with the lack of service that we were given and the ringing of the phones every few mins it was a little more than we bargained for.

2021-04-26What a great night out! Absolutely blown away by the custom built interior of this place. From the hand painted murals and custom tile work. Custom woodwork all combined with modern flooring and other wall coverings. Custom embroidery and leather work. The list goes on.The service was exceptional and the food was soo good. I ordered Fajitas like I normally do but this place isnt your normal small town Mexican restaurant.For starters they have coleslaw as well as salsa with their chips. It just works and you simply cant get enough. It is so creamy and scooping it up with the chips soon feels very natural.Back to the Fajitas which had pineapple, bacon, broccoli. The main proteins were shrimp, steak and chicken and also scallops. I the had them add fresh jalapenos to the mix of fried onions and peppers. It came in a huge cast iron 10 lb bowl.LOL! That sucker holds the heat a very long time.The side plate had your traditional rice, beans, Gaucamole, pico, lettuce and sour cream etc.. also very well done.I fought to eat as much as I could but still required 2 to go boxes and the quantity matched the quality in its abundance.I am sure to get at least 2 more meals out of this I the truck.Definitely reccomend this place and will be making an extra effort to try and return here for a future visit.

2022-04-13We usually love the North Lima location but the last couple times have been very disappointing. The service has gone downhill and the food has been mediocre. I tried calling several times when I got off work to pick up take out for dinner and each time someone was picking up the phone waiting for a little bit then hanging up. I decided to just drive there and order to take home and the minute I walked in I see a male server keep picking up the phone and hanging up, every time it rang he did this over and over. I sat at the bar and ordered, it came out fairly quick. I asked if we could have cole slaw for the chips and he told me no..no cole slaw. I asked if they no longer have it and he said no, we don’t have it anymore. As I was getting up a female server was walking by so I asked her about it and she said yes, they have it for $2. She went and got it and I gladly paid the $2. Not sure why he said they don’t have it anymore but they do.

2022-05-04BE AWARE! PRICES are HIGHER then MENU reflects! There is an easily overlooked sign on the door as you enter saying prices may be higher then the menu.Examples...Guacamole on the menu is listed as $4.50 but was $6.50! Steak fajita is listed as $13.99 but was $16.99..el Gallos fajita was listed as $14.99 but was $18.99! Roy the Juan and the fajita torta were priced $1 more then MENU price.My daughter was disappointed in the Roy the Juan. Asked for her quacamole on the side that it was supposed to come on the sandwich and didnt receive it, there was also no onion rings on it or mayo as the menu described! Burger had no flavor other then a grilled taste. When we are not grilled burger fans. She was like wasnt it supposed to have other stuff on it and we didnt have the menu anymore and was out first time there, I looked the menu up online today and the sandwich was definitely not made with all the stuff!Probably will not return, I dont like such large price difference as a surprise at the end of dinner, I like to know the cost up front!! And four of us going inside did not see the sign on the door when going inside. We only saw it as we were leaving! How about a notice on the tables?The fajitas were ok with a decent portion and service in general seemed to be fine.
