Bartender was awesome. The margararita on the rocks was delicious. The food was just meh. I had the burrito del mar, which is supposed to be filled with seafood, shrimp, scallops, surimi (artificial) crab meat, lobster and diced onions and mushrooms. Well, there was plenty of shrimp but no crabmeat, no lobster, 3 tiny scallops, AND it was packed with huge sliced onions and mushrooms. Very disappointing. Not much else to say...
Amelia is blessed with two grwat Mexican places, and it is a toss up between the two. We have been going here for more than fifteen years and have always gotten good food and service for the most part. The only issue they have is when dealing with large parties. Just expect a long wait with that. Otherwise, everything from the salsa and chips to your entree is fantastic. If you dont know what to order, the los cabos quesadilla with grilled chicken is great, as is the chimichanga or carnitas. Love this place!
I’ve been here a handful of times, as it’s one of my family’s favorite Mexican restaurants. In my opinion it is a good, but not a great Mexican restaurant. It’s definitely not one of my favorites, but I would go back.Pro’s -- Salsa is very fresh, and they give you individual salsa bowls.- Food portion sizes are good- Serves Pepsi Products!- Large menu variety- Offers fried ice creamCon’s -- Food tasted very bland. All of the flavor was in the salsas or sauces that accompanied the dishes. The chicken, steak, rice, etc had no flavoring at all. I had to use the hot and Tabasco sauces on the table to get some additional flavor.- A little above average pricing for Mexican food. The majority of the items on the menu were $11.99 and up.- The chimichanga was barely fried. It didn’t have any crisp/crunch or flavor to it, which made it more like a glorified burrito. We got the fajita chimichanga and it was mostly filled with onions and peppers; it had a very small portion of meat.- The burrito was mainly filled with rice and refried beans. It had very little meat.
They get a star because the food is good and a star because dining in is a pleasant experience. However, you cant order for pickup. I mean you can... They offer the service but dont. I keep trying to give them another chance because of the first 2 stars but Im not sure I can anymore. 4 times they have done pretty stupid things when trying to carry out. Theyve told me itll be 30 minutes and then its ready in 10 and when I showed up in 25 its already sitting out and cold. Then theyve also told me itll be 30 minutes and it turns into 90. 1 of those times they said theyd call when its ready but Im smart, right? I show up 20 minutes in just in case, they say no need to wait in here as theyll call (like they said originally) so no issue. At the 45 minute mark Im thinkinh Ill go back in since its gotta be close. 45 minutes later they bring an order out but no call so I ask for an estimate. Turns out my order had been sitting there since at least before I came in the second time. No call. And then the hostess asks if the number matches the order... It did and she kinda goes oh knowing she cant lie that they called but got the number wrong. Then I get asked how Im paying with no apology at all. Just kinda messed up. If youre not going to do what you say its just hard to use your service.
The only reason I am giving this only 4 stars is because the place was packed and they didnt have enough servers. However, Joel Cortez went above and beyond with our table, and between his exemplary service and the delicious food, this is definitely a place we will be back to.You owe it to yourself to visit Los Cabos.
Just a really nice Mexican restaurant with an extensive menu! I had the shrimp enchiladas covered in a light, white cheese sauce, served with sour cream and spicy peppers on the side - they were delicious. Service is above and beyond, meaning you couldnt ask for nicer, prompter servers, and the pricing was more than reasonable. My wife and I will definitely go back!
First time here. The food and drinks were good but they were understaffed. It took a long time to get our food, but to be fair we were there right at dinner time. Our waiter was great but he had so many tables it wasnt fair to him. He did an amazing job considering he was waiting on twice as many tables as he should have had to. They are doing their best to stay open and provide the service we expect when dining out. Unfortunately this is the world we live in now and its a part of life. Remember to be patient and kind to those that SHOWED UP 🙂
We won’t be back. False advertising for happy hour. Advertised on the board in our view was 12 oz margaritas for 4.99. We received our bill and margarita was billed at full price. When we asked the waiter, he said you didn’t ask for happy hour margarita and would not correct the price. If you go and order happy hour be sure to request HAPPY HOUR and check your receipt for accuracy. Done!
Not very good service , had to wait to get our drinks . Ordered a steak fajita to go and they didnt give the tortilla shells for it . I called them about what was missing and there response was I should have checked to make sure everything was there . Needless to say I wont be back .
I say a lot of good things about a lot of wonderful places, but I must admit this one is special to me; Ive been coming here almost since I was a child, and Ive always loved the food and atmosphere. Just the smell of their chicken is enough to make me drool. Not to mention the incredible staff, always so kind and patient, even when my order gets complicated. A few gentlemen have been kind enough to help me practice my Spanish as well, which is just amazing to me. If youre looking for good food, this is the place. If youre looking for a good time, this is the place. And if youre looking for an amazing experience including all of the above and more, this is the place youre looking for!!!
We usually go here for birthdays and not have issues until tonight. We found plastic in our food and the wait staff tried to blame us for putting it there. Didnt comp the meal or an appetizer or anything for finding the plastic. We saw the wait staff eating chips out of the bowl as they walked it to a customers table.
Good luck ordering food to go here, phone isnt answered and online orders get turned off. If you go in to order in person theyll want you to wait at least 2 hours. Youve literally turned down several hundred dollars in orders from me in the past month as I would have ordered for the whole office.
I ordered by phone for pickup on March 5th 2021 at around 3 PM. And let me tell you the people here went above and beyond to make sure my order was correct and on time. And there was more than enough food for 2 people on just one plate of food. And they gave me salad and chips with salsa of course. That meant a lot to me, cause theres some Mexican restaurants that arent giving chips and salad anymore when its carryout. And I love chips with salsa and salad. They even put a smiley face on my receipt and wrote thank you. Your welcome! And THANK YOU so much for being so kind and thank you for the delicious food. The food was absolutely delicious of course. I happen to cook lots of South American dishes myself, so I know that you cant compete with Latin cuisine. We have influence from all over the world. And from the influence of all those cultures put together was born, some of the best dishes in the world.
Well guess what? The people that make your food here are illegal persons that dont even know their rights. Also, legal citizens are working here extra hours out of their schedule for FREE. I worked here briefly and havent gotten paid. They are horrible to their employees and have zero work and labor laws ethics. I worked for free! Think about it before eating or supporting this and any other business by them.
Just ordered from this establishment and I have to say it was delicious. Due to the pandemic we were unable to eat in but for the brief period of ordering and take away they were super pleasant. My wife tends to be a picky eater and likes her chimichangas a very specific way. The staff took the time to clarify her order so as not to mess it up. It is not a matter of if I will recommend this resturant to a friend but how often. We are new to the area and have just found our new Mexican resturant to call home.To the staff, thank you.Ben, Caitlyn and Dev.
I have been coming here for years and I love it. Most of my visits are during evening hours and despite the fact they’re always busy, the service is always quick and good. They have a large staff which is always busy, moving and accommodating. The manager is just as busy as the wait staff, he’s always running around making sure things are operating smooth and everyone is satisfied. Food generally comes out quickly too, even with a busy dining room. You get a big basket of chips with every order and they’ll refill it without charge. The food portions are large and they aren’t ridiculously overpriced. In the years I’ve been coming here, they’ve only a couple times made mistakes on my orders. When that’s occurred they’ve always made the wrongs right and been very good about it. Definitely my favorite Mexican place. The shrimp fajitas are killer and what I usually order!
Ordered take out. Wish I would have read the reviews about the portion sizes. I ordered two chimichangas ala cart and wish I would have only ordered one. But I thought at 6.99 I would definitely need two... NOPE.Food was delicious. We will definitely be back. Hopefully in house for some added margaritas. 🤗
Today we got worst services ever we ask for lettuce and jalapeño into our nachos but we did not get it and we call manage he say u did not ask for and we did and we go there all the time and we love the owner he is so nice and kind this manger eddy he is mean and told us not to come back to restaurant and he did not change the order. Told us to live. We want the owner to come back. We call the store and he say don’t call back or I will give your number to police Worst service we ever got. We never went going to come back.
Wonderful Mexican option! We went Friday at around 5:30 and the place was packed. This is impressive considering there are no less than 4 other Mexican restaurant options within ten minutes of this restaurant. I ordered the steak fajitas and my fiancee ordered the chimichanga. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time and tasted great! Will be back in the future!
Yummy. yuummmy. YUUUMMMYYY! highly recommend. My favorite Mexican restaurant around 100%. 😁 Not only is the staff super friendly and go beyond for whatever you need, theyre very quick about getting your food to you fresh, hot, and set up on the plates very nicely! The quality of the food is good and I will always continue to come back!
This restaurant was extremely clean, but as for the food it was okay. The rice seemed not cooked all the way and the chicken fajita mix we had was very tomatoe tasting. If you like tomatoes then you probably will like it, but overall not my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area.
Super tasty food! The Veggie Enchiladas are awesome as is the Guacamole. A first for me was the Black Bean Refried Beans and they were delicious! The only downsides were that I had a strawberry margarita, that didnt really have any liquor in it (and Im a super light-weight) and it was tiny for the price. Other than that the food was great and the service was good!
My wife and I LOVE this place. Their salsa is the absolute best in the city and it is consistent, which isnt the case at a lot of the other Mexican places that make their own salsa. The food is very good, the service is top notch, and the prices are better than you would expect for what you get.
Ordered my food at 4:30 and was unable to select a pick up time. When the page refreshed it informed me my food would be ready at 6:37. My husband left the house at 6 and arrived a little before 6:30. He is still there waiting on our food at 7:28pm. When my husband arrived at the store he was told by other patrons their pick up time was at 5:00pm (they had been waiting in the parking lot for an hour and a half). I understand that it is Cinco De Mayo and the stores are busy. However, I attempted to call to cancel the order shortly after I found out our pick up time and the phone line has been busy (all 16 times between 5:01 and now). So now we are stuck having to wait (at this point) 3 hours for our food with no contact to the resturarnt. Mind you our order was 1 quesadilla, enchiladas rancheras, fajitas and queso dip...thats it...
The food is great there, my problem was the service. My server was unfriendly. He hardly said 5 words to us. When he brought us the food, he set it on the side of the table for me to distribute it. And never did say one of the plates was hot. Im not really one to complain, but if Im going to bring my service there, act like you care, even if youre acting!
Terrible experience at Los Cabos last night. Called ahead to see if they accept reservations for a birthday party of 10 people with 2 of them needing high chairs. They dont do reservations, which is fine but we were trying to be courteous.Arrived first as two adults and ordered a happy hour marg while waiting for the rest the party. The server, Tori, came back while we were all getting situated. She made several comments about the seating ardangement and acted like it was the most stressful moment of her life. Until we ordered drinks. Or food. Basically- everything we did as a table stressed this poor girl out.4 of the grown adults at this table had either provided for their family as servers, or were currently still serving as a career. So we get it. But several comments crossed the line. One involving a mother and not being ablw to figure out which child was hers. One about how our table was traumatizing...... not okay when its a THIRD BIRTHDAY.The entire time we dined with Tori we kept reassuring her we were in no rush, take your time. We understand. No worries. No rush. But at one point she raised her voice at a friend of mine ITS ALL ON ME she said. When that firned mistook another server for our own.Are you our server? No but i can help you out if you need somethingNo its fine i just was going to ask for a refillOur server comes back almost immediately and snaps something like: she cant do anything with you guys ITS ALL ON MEWow. Is she overwhelmed or what?So we sat there last night- empty cups, no water for half the table. Empty soda. And when i ordered my entree i specifically asked if i could have NO CARROTS in my chimichanga. If not- i would order something else. She said it was fine, i would get everything else still. Thats wonderful!Well, my food came ans the first bite had a big carrot in it. So guess who didnt eat dinner. After being made to feel bad about sitting in her section, celebrating a birthday, ordering drinks and special request items on my food-- i couldnt say anything. We needed the checks and to leave. At this point as we are all reaching into our wallets to pay and as we are leaving, the server ia heard saying we were just traumatizing.Yeah girl, imagine celebrating birthdays, graduations, and big deals at a restaurant for 15 years only to be called names when your food comes out wrong. Not a great experience. And we wont be back until this issue is addressed.
I am not sure how this place has so many good reviews, I wonder if people in Cincinnati know what good Mexican food can truly be? I will say that we ordered food to go instead of eating in, but that certainly cant be why everything was awful. The salsa was extremely garlicky (like, unpalatable), the chimichangas werent even fried and the amount of queso was minimal, and the ground beef seemed unseasoned (and there was way too much of it, what a waste.) The chile relleno was a big, dense slab of a pepper stuffed with some (not melted) white cheese with shredded cheddar and enchilada sauce - it was very bland and the texture was unappealing. The rice and beans were ok, but Ive had much better elsewhere. A single taco order was literally a crunchy taco shell with some ground beef, lettuce, and bagged shredded cheddar on top. I couldve gone to Kroger and gotten the same stuff and made a significantly better basic Tex-Mex taco. We will never come here again, an absolute waste of money and a disappointing dinner. I recommend that the people who like this place expand their horizons and try other restaurants - this is not good Mexican food.
Highly recommend stoping by here, this is a local favorite. I used to come here every week and our server remembered our names our drink orders, and our food orders, thats super hard to find at a busy restraunt like this one. Great always fresh food always hot, never had an issue. Highly recomend!
Simple Mexican food served quickly and without fuss. It is impossible not to overeat here as portion sizes are very large and the tortilla chips and salsa provided when you sit are always hot and crisp, enticing you to eat more than you should. Dishes run the gamut of styles youve come to expect at a Mexican restaurant, all quite good, and reasonably priced. A few vegetarian options exist but youll need to hunt for them, though the servers are good about modifying existing courses. No real complaints.
This place was packed. Not sure why. This native Texan grew up with mom and pop, local Mexican restaurants and I will always try a new to me Mexican or tex-mex restaurant in the Cincinnati area if I come across one. Obviously popular to the locals, so go ahead and try it if youre in the area. Atmosphere was friendly and everyone else seemed to be enjoying the place, so you might like it.*Disclaimer: Please take the following with a sense of humor and not with an overly sensitive, politically correct attitude towards race or any issues related to illegal or undocumented immigrants, or migrants, or however your favorite national news channel chooses to tell you how you should think this week.* Now back to the review. Our waiter was a very courteous, friendly white college kid who spoke very good English. Not a good sign if you like Mexican food. If youre like me, you want your server to have a hard time understanding you and make you wonder if theyre legal or not, because youre only there for the fresh tortilla chips and salsa and the chicken enchiladas verdes.I live in N. KY and theres a couple of Mexican restaurants in Florence I visit regularly, but I dont think Id be a repeat here. Left food on the plate and didnt bother with a box. I dont remember the last time Ive left food on the plate at a Mexican restaurant. I usually think to myself, man, I cant eat all this. Better save some for lunch tomorrow, and minutes later wondering how I ate all that and hoping I dont regret it too much later.
Go check them out..i have been going there for years..One of my very favorite restaurants in my area. The Chicken chipotle enchiladas with black bean is my favorite / usually my go to with a flan for desert. Extensive menu..fast, friendly service. Sometimes very busy..u might have a wait for seating at times but well worth the wait.
Wow just WOW! The young lady with red hair who works in the front went above and beyond for my order tonight! I asked for no tomatoes in my Chimi and she went beyond and even told the cook to put our pico de galo on the side just in case we were allergic to tomatoes! She is the only one in 3 years that has ever went above and beyond like that! Also our food was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing!!! Her and the cook tonight need a RAISE! Thank you so much young lady for actually caring enough about a random customer you didnt know, it was greatly appreciated and so are you!!! And to the cook, you showed you cared through the amazing tasting food tonight. Thank you!
Portion sizes are HUGE!!! Usually have lunch the next day because I DONT SHARE!!! Too AWESOME!! Best margaritas EVER!!!! Kids not really into any ethnic food, but LOVE the chicken tenders and fries! I love the nachos supreme, steak burrito w/rice and best refried beans EVER!! This is REAL DEAL!!!!
The chips and salsa are pretty good. The queso is pretty good too. You can judge a lot about a Mexican restaurant just based on their chips and salsa. I got the Combo Fajitas which were about $14-15, but Ive never seen so much proportions in my life for that money! It came with chicken, steak, shrimp, and chorizo. It was so delicious! I couldnt finish it all, and I had enough for two more meals after I got it boxed up. Fantastic food at a fantastic price!
The service is great, but the food wasnt what I expected. The tacos were served with lettuce and cheese. Typical when I think tacos, I think cilantro and onion. The carnitas were spiced well though. The tortillas werent my favorite. The tamales were smotherd in cheese and red sauce. I typical like my sauce on the inside, no cheese. Also, the tamales were HUGE and comprised of 90 percent masa. They were a bit dry. I think using more lard in the masa woukd be helpful and also more meat to masa ratio so the masa soaks up the beef juices. They were brought to me out of the corn husk or banana leaf (I ordered to go), so that could also explain the dryness. I just guess I was expecting more traditional mexican food that I would find at a taqueria. The salsas were very very good! I got tomatillo salsas. Both were excellent. I was super impressed with the salsas.
I love to order carryout. This is my 6th visit to Los Cabos. The results are inconsistent. I always order queso dip and they are usually generous with the chips, but today I received hardly any. Nothing is more annoying than bringing a large bag of Mexican food all the way home and discovering there are not enough chips to eat with it. You blew it Los Cabos.Tried them again on February 21 and the results were negative. Once again hardly any chips but even worse the carnitas were very dry. I wont be giving them a third chance.
I eat here quite a bit. I have my favorite los cabbos quesadilla with steak. I rarely waiver but all od their food that ibhave tried is amazing. Service is typically great. Out of the 200-300 times ive been here Ive only complained one time that my food was under seasoned.
Its just another Mexican place. Great service and not too expensive.I rate all Mexican restaurant by their chile relleno and mine wasnt anything to brag on. Not very flavorful and like a deflated balloon.Im sure they have other items that are fine, but rellenos are how I judge so thats all.
This is my favorite restaurant in amelia. I could drink their salsa. You sit down they bring you chips and salsa. Ask for queso when youre waiter comes. 9/10 I fill up on the chips woth the salsa and queso because its soo good. The chips come out freshly made and the salsa has to be made by them too. Love this place and the service is excellent.
Very good Mexican food. Ive only had two better. Sorry, I dont know the name of the other places. One is closed and the other is in Covington. The one in Covington is more authentic. They serve goat and tongue. I just feel that that the Covington one is closer to a non watered down version of American Mexican. Los Cabos is definitely better than most though so I do recommend it.
If you order a drink and they take too long to get it to you apparently even if you dont touch that drink you are stuck paying for that drink because it is illegal the manager said. I go to law cabos weekly with family and friends never had one concern. One time I ask them to respect what just makes sense and they talk to me in such disrespect in a crowd of people and not honor what is fair.
We had the most racist waiter ever and he screwed up our food and I believe he posined us we all were extremely sick after eating there but my 5 yr old she refused to eat that night so I ate her chicken and fries because they screwed my food up I had even got the manager and he brought the boy to the table to talk about how he was and he gave him an attitude IM WARNING YOU IF YOU ARE MIXED FAMILY DO NOT GO HERE!!! I am american with Hispanic husband and 2 kids and even my husband got sick Hispanic dont get sick for anything
We tried Los Cabos after doing a search for restaurants near us, and I am so glad we did! We ordered the Cabo chimi with grilled shrimp, the shrimp enchiladas, and a cheese quesadilla, all with refried black beans. The meals were fabulous! The black beans are a must. They were absolutely delicious! The portions are large, so you could probably split an entrée. We ended up taking quite a bit of food back to our hotel. The prices were very reasonable, and the service was excellent. We are vacationing in the area or we would be back often!

2022-06-19The food was okay. Nothing to get super excited about. The wait was much longer than I anticipated. It took a while for a server to get to us for drinks. The staff was nice though. Would probably try another place before eating here again.

2022-04-01The food was good, closer to Tex Mex, really. The service was not so much; I couldnt find our server to get him back to the table. I tried asking for salsa and water on several occasions. Even after having a coughing fit for 5 minutes at our table, he just ran by and dropped the check off without checking if we wanted dessert or not. He did not seem to be able to respond to English or Spanish well. 🤷♀️ We only came because the Google ratings were good.

2022-07-17Food was really good and came out fast and fresh. Service was friendly and on point. Margaritas were the bomb. Overall, a great Mexican restaurant that well visit many more times into the future.

2022-05-18Really good food. Enjoy their margaritas a lot. The staff here has been great the two times weve gone. We went for Cinco De Mayo and had a great time with some friends this year.

2022-06-18The food was good and the portions large but be sure to bring a jacket and wear warm clothes. Just left this restaurant where it was sooooo cold it was uncomfortable!!! Did not really enjoy the meal because we needed to leave quickly because of the air conditioning. When we mentioned it we were told they knew it was cold it that area.

2022-03-31Horrible customer service by the owners brothers. He insisted on arguing with me the order that was delivered was complete when it was shorted by an entire meal! This restaurant is definitely resting on their past laurels and believing their ratings insulates them from treating customers with respect.

2022-04-06Ive came here about twice a month over the last 6 months and have been very impressed by the consistently good food and good service every time. Out of the local competitors, this is definitely the best Mexican restaurant Ive been to.

2022-05-31Just no. If i could give 0 stars, I would! First of all, the host couldnt stay off her phone. We arrived and she asked how many, we said 2 and she just walked away. She came back, grabbed menus and said ready?, so we followed her to the table. She sat the menus down and walked away 😅 ok.We sat down, received chips and salsa, waited almost 10 mins to even be greeted by our server. When he came, we werent ready to order just yet as my friend had just came in from out of town and neither of us had been here before. So he got our drink order, gave it to us (and our queso with no chips) and left for like 20 mins. The queso was trash so we shouldve just left then, if ya know ya know, but we were hungry. 💁🏽♀️He came back, we ordered, waited another 25 mins for our food. My friend got fundido queso al pastor (?), grilled shrimp to share, I got a taquito, a flauta, and Mexican rice. He delivered our food, then disappeared for another 20 mins, not checking on us or refilling our drinks. When he would appear, he was walking past us to care for another table.Food was disgusting and cold! I hardly ever return food, even if its not that good, Ill just deal with it rather than sending it back. But when he finally came back after another 20-25, I had to send it back! We never got refills either! We LOVE mexican food but this WASNT IT, neither of us will ever return!

2022-05-28Was there for my sons bday. The workers are great, they were great with my son. Good atmosphere and music. Cold beer. Alright food.
