Wow! What amazing and generous customer service and expertise! I did not even purchase anything on my first visit to Lorain Furniture and Appliance, but Ill be back and will refer anyone else I run into to go there as well! Eugene was absolutely wonderful and took his time to talk with me and answer my questions. He went above and beyond by even helping me prioritize what renovation projects I should take on in my new home purchase. I was also impressed with the depths of knowledge he has on each appliance and the brands, as well as how he built the treasure chest of knowledge. You know immediately he is very hardworking, confident yet humble in his delivery and willing to teach a new customer whatever they need to know. Again, even though I did not make a purchase that day, Eugene and his team have my trust and my wholehearted recommendation. I wish more service businesses were this excellent with their customer service and expertise!
I’m having trouble getting this review written and posted so I hope this time it works: my old, fantastic Maytag bit the dust, I researched machines for my current needs, listened to friend and family recommendations, read reviews online, then cried over my inability to believe anything one way or the other. THEN I found Eugene’s YouTube reviews and immediately understood that he knew what he was talking about! I still couldn’t decide, so I paid a fee to make an appointment to speak with Eugene. Best money I ever spent! I live in CT, Lorain Furniture and Appliance is in Ohio but I could not have been more thrilled with the talk we had! After listening to my requirements, Eugene recommended the Maytag Commercial MWVP575GW, the one I actually had settled on in my mind because it seemed closest to my old, beloved machine. Couldn’t get it delivered from Ohio, unfortunately, but found one here. Just got it two days ago and it’s absolutely exactly what I was hoping for. Trust Eugene. Trust him every time. I wish I lived in Lorain so I could buy all my future appliances from Eugene. Thank you, sir, for being so spot-on knowledgeable, kind, smart, and helpful!

Goodness, these folks are fantastic! The used stove I bought from them last year is immaculate, works like a champ and was an amazing value. So, this year my new washing machine had to come from them. Eugene helped me make a decision over the phone, emailed me a credit card invoice (yet another very reasonable price) and had the machine delivered and operational within a day and a half. Delivery guys Emilio and Matt arrived exactly on time, handled the machine with astonishing ease through a tight dog leg to the basement and set it up efficiently and expertly. The big chains better sit up and take notice; this is how to do it.
Eugene is super knowledgeable / patient / and very professional - a rare combination in our age of the big box / cookie cutter approach to just about everything these days. I scheduled a tech consultation with him - he went out of his way to accommodate my time - and he nailed it. He assisted me with a certain brand of washing machine that is difficult to obtain info on (dealer only / non big-box brand) - must have specialized knowledge - and he has it. Glad to see him part of the Cleveland business community and utilizing technology to advance his skill and knowledge base. Highly recommended.
Exactly what great customer service is all about!! Eugene quickly returned my call and we set up an appointment to repair a commercial washer the next day. From the moment we first spoke about my dryer problem he was extraordinarily knowledgeable, competent, responsive and reliable. He toiled patiently and expertly with my problem until it was fixed, and then promised to come back and take care of it if I continued to have problems. Customer service and satisfaction doesnt get any better than this.
Eugene has been very helpful to our family. When the washer of our stackable washer/dryer went, he found a gently used washer of the same brand at a very fair price that stacked with our dryer. Meanwhile, the Rowe Sofas they carry are priced well below other retailers in the area... this is basically consistent it seems with all of their pricing, which is really reasonable. I had my doubts about this place, it is a dingy little store on Lorain Avenue. However, I learned that the owner is the real deal. We purchased a portable dishwasher from there, and discovered it was leaking water. The owner came to our home. three times to find the leak, and finally found it, He made the needed repairs, and fixed it. They didnt charge us a penny for that. They offer a 6 month warranty on appliances purchased from their store, and they honor it. These guys are for real. I highly recommend them.
Great local business in our neighborhood! Eugene and company always have the parts that you need! They sell both new and used appliances which is perfect for anyone, especially if you have rental properties and dont always necessarily need something brand new. Quality and clean used appliances and a very fair price! Plus Eugene has helped me trouble shoot our appliances over the phone several times so I can then just pop into their store and grab the repair parts that I need to fix it myself or Eugene also will come out to make repairs on site. Every interaction with this place has been great. Great selection, different price points, have a warranty on what they sell, willing to negotiate and excellent service. I had to call for service on my washer (my bad, I left change in my pants and it got into the pump) and Eugene the owner called right away, scheduled quickly with me, showed up when he said he would, was friendly and professional and fixed the problem at no charge.
Excellent! Very friendly staff, on time delivery, great product. My washing machine works great. It started to make a weird sound about seven months later, but still worked fine. I called them and they sent a guy out the next day. He was here for five minutes and fixed the issue, still works great to this day! (3 months later!). I will be back!
Our fridge stopped working shortly into stay at home order and the owner (who was well recommended by a few of my friends) found a new replacement and was willing to deliver into our home with in a week! And when that fridge didnt fit upstairs, he found us a smaller one and delivered within just a few days!! This is why we support our local businesses, they really took care of us when we needed it most!
I had an old wash machine that needed repair, I called Eugene and he was able to diagnose the problem over the phone, give me an estimate and then he even stopped by my house the same day to fix it! Very knowledgeable and fixed the wash machine in 5 mins! I’d recommend to anyone.
I’ve bought a few appliances here for rental properties but the last time the dryer issue ended up being a fuse issue and nothing wrong with the actual dryer. I told them if that’s the case I want to come pick up the dryer they picked up which worked fine. He said he would discuss with his boss and let me know. I have never heard back from them and every time I call it goes to vm and no one returns my call. Scam!!!Your response is a complete lie. I never demanded you deliver the working dryer anywhere and you NEVER returned my call after I spoke with your employee who told me he would speak with you about me picking it up. I never heard from anyone at your store again. I called your store multiple times. You should try calling your business sometime. Either your phone system doesnt work or you just like hanging up on people. Seriously, try telling the truth!
I dont normally do reviews but in the case of Lorain Furniture, I thought I would make an exception. This is a great local business and its refreshing to have a more personal touch in terms of customer service, which Lorain Furniture provides. The owner, Eugene, is very friendly, knowledgeable, responsive, and really goes above and beyond to explain things and ensure you are getting a quality product and service. He has fair prices on high quality merchandise. I have done business here on a few occasions over the years and will continue to do so.
Phone consultation with Eugene is invaluable! Worth every cent!! I love front loaders but was VERY disappointed w/performance of 2nd set which was newly purchased-clothes/blankets still came out smelly. Maytag Commercial MVWP575GW washer (& Maytag Commercial MEDP575GW dryer), it IS!!! For me, the Maytag has less cubic feet than desired but will HUGELY make up for it in terms of washing time-will wash longest cycle in 35-37 minutes (!) which is a far cry from all the front loads which rely on time rather than water to get laundry clean. 2 HOURS & 20 min (!) for a load of clothes (or a twin flatsy comforter) set to heavy cycle in order to get a tad more H20 w/LG 3500CW, ugh. Hopefully, this industry will get deregulated...It. Is. Ludicrous. Thank you, Eugene, for hearing my frustration & educating me about the specifications of various brands and models which has enabled me to proceed to obtain a set that will get the job done! This man knows his business well! : )
Made appointment between 1pm and 5pm and no one showed. Called several times between 4pm and 6pm with assurances that the technician would call be back. I never recieved a call. Although when I called in the morning Eugene was very kind and professional, later in the day a man named Steve called me and when I called him back he was very rude and unhelpful. I will not be dealing with this company again.I dont know if they understand that a day of work was missed and I still do not have a working dryer.
We needed a small chest freezer. Couldnt find a good one under $200. The price here was fair, and with a 1 warranty. The service was great! We were in and out within 15 minutes.

If you are blessed to be able to purchase your appliances from Lorain, you have chosen wisely. As a victim of Hurricane Harvey, his review of the 2018 Speed Queen top load washer was a God send since I lost my 2016 Speed Queen in the flood and wanted to replace my washer with another Speed Queen. His YouTube review made me stop and think and called him for advise. And even though there was nothing in it for him, he recommended a new 2017 Speed Queen but suggested I stay away from the 2018 and even offered other options for my family. If I lived in Cleveland, this is where I would shop for my appliances.
Eugene is dependable, hones, and reasonable. He was referred to me by an highly reference-able retired repairman. His is knowledgeable and has coached me on my own repairs. I will continue to recommend and do business with him.

Offers hard to find Speed Queen brand, plus cool vintage appliances too! (Stop in just to check them out.) Would recommend to others and buy from them again. They arent big and flashy like a big box store, but they are the experts plus they have very fair prices.

I needed to fix my dryer and replace a belt pulley. They guy on the phone did not try to sell me more then I needed. It was a good price, they had it in stock, was in and out quickly.
After a misunderstanding about my current washing machine I was ensured that customer service is very important to them. They are sending me a replacement washing machine, will update more once I receive the replacement.Update: The replacement machine is running smoothly.

Lorain Furniture and Appliance in Cleveland, Ohio is operated by Mr. Eugene Pallas. My purpose of this posting is not about a purchase but about an honest man that I met via an internet video dealing with a change in the operation of a certain washing machine companys product. Mr. Pallas video honestly and correctly identified some weaknesses in the washing machine that we had planned to purchase. This brand was the brand that Mr. Pallas had carried exclusively for many years. He no longer carries the product because of changes in the machines. I will allow the reader of this posting to determine which washing machine to purchase. My posting is to thank Mr. Pallas for honesty even though it cost him business. When I spoke to him, I was impressed with his combination of intelligence and complete honesty. I do not live in Ohio, but if I did, I would give his business a look. Pretty good prices better then most big franchise the owner is real nice he helped me out alot and earned my trust. Workers for the most part are also pretty good... i dont know if they earn comission but big ray is who sold me the appliance and i dont even think he works on the floor just the muscle man but he definitely made me change my mind and made good points on my buy and i got a nicer deal out of it too .. thanks for the patients guys. Will be back to purchase the rest of my home better believe that.
Guys are extremely helpful and they make it soooooo easy. Products are new and refurbished and everytime Ive been there, theyve had exactly what I wanted. They deliver for a small fee and will get rid of old appliances if you need it. If you need appliances-this is the place!!!!
Top service, especially hard to come by if you own a vintage appliance. I have a rather complicated vintage stove and if it weren’t for Eugene I’d be dead in the water. He knows his stuff!

2022-06-18Bought two window AC units from Eugene. Went home and did a little research on my units and noticed that they were cheaper at other stores. Called back the next day spoke with Eugene he immediately reimburse me the difference no hassle within 10 minutes I had my money back to me. He was also extremely knowledgeable with every question I had about any brand I asked. Outstanding customer service I will absolutely be back to be buying my washer and dryer from them as well. 2022-04-19Ordered a SQ rebuild kit for my dryer Saturday afternoon from these guys. Thought they might start processing my order Monday morning. Imagine my surprise when I started getting texts from the usps almost immediately and then received my order in the mail Monday morning! Wow! Spent some time watching Eugenes video of how to do this procedure and it is finished and working well Monday evening. Might even be better than original as I used some full synthetic oil on the two roller axles and the idler pulley shaft as Eugene advised. Very quiet now. Thank you for the great service!

2021-06-07I needed a refrigerator so I was checking out what they had and the prices. I purchased a used washer and dryer from there about 5 years ago and theyre still working just fine. I needed measurements for one I was interested in and he did it. 👍👍👍 this is just one of the many things they have in stock. Washer and dryers, stoves etc. Its a good neighborhood store. 2020-08-23MOST INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH EUGENE - he is unlike any other appliance salesman I have ever met.I live in NY and purchased the Maytag Commercial Washing Machine for my home last month. I was unclear on one of its important features, even after reading the owners manual multiple times, something Ive always excelled at and easily understand.I spoke to 4 different salesmen, 2 repairmen, 3 technical supervisors at Maytags corporate headquarters and 1 repair service supervisor who all gave me different answers regarding the cycles. Not one of them knew the correct answer.After weeks of frustration, aggravation, anxiety and dead-ends with inadequate responses, I reverted to Google to search for answers.Up popped Lorain Furniture with Eugenes perfect and very detailed explanation about my machine. I had one question and called - who knew he would actually answer the phone himself!He explained so quickly and precisely exactly what I needed to know. He was the only person I had spoken to who had real knowledge of my washing machine. He had actually hooked it up in his store and used it multiple times, unlike any of the other so called professionals had done. EUGENE IS THE TRUEST PROFESSIONAL. He is my washing machine whisperer and is now the only person Id go to for appliance advice. I wish he would open a store in NY - I would recommend him to everyone. Thank you Eugene. 2019-05-20Had to replace an old standard Maytag washer and dreaded the decision about what to buy. Found Eugenes YouTube reviews about top loaders. Learned so much from those that I had to check out the store. Eugene was super helpful and knowledgeable and so great to deal with. Way more pleasant and satisfying experience than a big box and still price competitive. Delivery team was just as terrific. So glad I found them. Will be a return customer for sure with any other appliance needs.
