I have never experienced service quite like this in a dental office. For the first time I actually felt like I was well taken care of. I had a tooth pulled and was terrified. Dr. Jimmy did an amazing job and the front desk was super polite as soon as I walked in. I had a full blown anxiety attack after the tooth was pulled. (No pain during. But all the stress from being anxious the day before and of just rushed out of my body it was like too much relief at once and my mind couldn’t handle it) the nurses there talked to me for a half hour after to help me calm down so I could go home and rest. This was my first time at a dentist in 8 years. My mouth hasn’t felt so much relief and I’m so happy I found this place. I hope they continue doing a great job. I will never go anywhere else
My appointment was at 2:30 pm I arrived at 2:11 so I could fill out the paperwork. They didn’t take me back until 3:30 & looked in my mouth for 2 mins & said I had 4 cavities & asked if I would like to be asleep for my wisdom teeth removal, I responded yes & they proceeded to say someone would be in to schedule my appointment. I went in because my tooth has been poking my cheek and causing so much pain & he told me to chew on the other side & was supposed to subscribe me Motrin .. went to my pharmacy & they had no prescription for me. To make it better they never told me I had to make my own appointment for my wisdom removal, which I feel should’ve been made very clear!! They are extremely unprofessional. I would not recommend.
New location is great! Great staff. My dentist dr. Jun he was polite ,quick and knowledgeable he made me feel comfortable because i was scared lol ..I appreciate him for being kind and understanding . My visit was great. ! Thank you locust dental staff . You guys are amazing!!
Today was my first time here, I called as soon as they opened because I was having severe pain in my tooth all weekend. They got me an appointment at 9am I told them I would have to bring my son and when I got there I didnt wait more than 10 minutes and they took me back. The lady doing the x-ray was so nice to us and the dentist that saw me was awesome. She set up a plan to get my teeth back in order. I was very pleased with my experience!Thank you guys for getting me in so quickly !
I figured Id give a good review just because I was very impressed with the dentist I had. It was Dr. Jimmy I believe? I havent been to a dentist in almost 10yrs and my teeth are destroyed. I came in for 1 tooth extraction and ended up needing 4. But it was probably the best experience you can have while getting 4 molars pulled. I was numbed perfectly. Didnt feel much pain, if any. The doctor explained everything very well and made me feel very comfortable being there and dealing with my dental issues. Didnt make me feel bad about it. And did a great job. All with a smile on his face. I would recommend him to anybody. Great guy. His assistant was very nice and helpful also.
My appointment was at 11:30 I came at 11:25 and when I got there I was told I was late that’s not late paperwork does not take 15 minutes to do it took me less than five minutes to do and then I was told because I was late which I wasn’t late that now I’m considered a walk-in and it was over an hour and a half so I left worst facility I’ve seen, no one’s late if you send a message saying your appointment is at 11:30 and I come five minutes early that is not late! Paper work doesn’t take long to fill out. So glad I’m left because then I read the reviews that saved me
Literally attached to summit county jobs and family services! I gave one star (for quick appointment)the only positive!because I called for appointment my dentist wanted me to get opinion from them! If your given a time whyd make you wait so long to go back? I would have been happy to not sit there all that time! I have high anxiety which I explained! Then I go back the lady was very rude! Where I sit again! I just got up and left! To me I have been to many dentists! This is just about your a number and a paycheck/ not for me!!
I have been here twice. I love how he was able to pull my wisdom teeth the same day of each visit. I didnt have to wait to long after my appointment. I got in and out pretty fast compared to seeing an oral surgeon. I couldnt get into a oral surgeon for another 6 month.. so waiting an extra hour at Locust wasnt even a issue. The staff was very kind, polite and helpful.. I didnt like how it was so many patients in a open room getting worked on. I had a older women watching me get my wisdom teeth pulled and she kept making comments about how bloody my mouth was and how it looked like it was hurting (I was very numb).. I heard they are moving to a new office that is bigger so I am not going to hold the open floor plan against them because they were actually able to help me instead of waiting 6 months for a oral surgeon.
Went there today for a root canal and extraction. I hate needles so I cried a little and had an anxiety attack before the needle even entered my mouth. Next thing I know it’s all over 2 teeth removed and root canal done. Dr Jimmy and his assistant were so kind and explained everything that was going to be done. She even told me I did better than she thought I would. I’d recommend them to anyone. They put me at ease
I read a lot of negative reviews and people complaining that it was attached to the Job and Family Services building.. I decided to look past those reviews and give it a shot because they were recommended by a family member. I hadnt been to the dentist in 7 years (😱) due to a negative root canal experience with another dentist so I was pretty scared/nervous. I had a cracked tooth that was causing me quite a bit of pain. My first appointment they took xrays and Dr. Michalski and her assistant did my exam. She informed me that the tooth was pretty infected and that she didnt want to remove it until I was treated with antibiotics for a few days. Fast forward a few days later to getting the extraction. Dr. Michalski warned me from the beginning that it wasnt going to be the best experience due to the location and condition of the tooth but that she would do everything she could to make me as comfortable as possible. She understood my dental anxiety and didnt just brush it off like many other dentists I had gone to through the years. She actually listened and she was fantastic! Throughout the whole procedure she was very understanding of my discomfort and if I felt even the slightest pinch she stopped listened and numbed me a little more. She was very kind and caring . It was honestly the BEST dental experience Ive ever had EVER. It couldve been a lot worse because the tooth itself was a very tough spot and in terrible condition but Dr. Michalski made all the difference in the world and she will be my dentist of choice from here on out. Her assistant was also great. I couldnt thank them enough! As long as shes practicing there I will remain a patient. Her bedside manner was amazing yet professional. Best dentist hands down! Also appointment time was on time. I didnt wait but maybe 30 minutes once I got back in the chair. It is a very clean, new office. Dental equipment is also very clean! Check them out! Front desk ladies are very polite and friendly... I dont think you will be disappointed.
I paid cash for a gold flipper tooth . It didn’t fit right had to be sent back . They buffed the good so it has a gash in it. They sent it back again. The gold still has A gash in it. The dentist lady said take it home and she’ll call me when the lab can take it back and fix it. I can’t even wear it. I will e contacting my lawyer. Now I’m just wanting a full refund. This was definitely the most terrible experience I’ve ever had with a dentist office. Next time I’ll be patient and wait for my own dentist. The only reason I went to them is because they said they could get h tooth done before my book signing which was a real important event for me. I regret my unwise decisions.
Filthy, disgusting, revolting and inept at time management. This is where you take your teeth to die.The overhead lights above the dental chairs have pieces of food, spit, and toothpaste from every patient prior to you.Thats just the lights. The floors are filthy, the chairs are not wiped down between patients,The dentist are incapable of seeing patients in a timely manner, you can expect a minimum of a 45 minute wait up to 2 hours. They staff ranges anywhere from mildly pleasant, to outright rude and condescending. Think about what Im saying, if a place is unable or unwilling to perform a simple task such as cleaning a light, can you trust they cleaned the dental tools properly? How many mouths was that drill in before yours? How many of you came down with a cold or mystery illness not long after you left?Do not go here. Look into those 5 star ratings. Im positive the employees put them up.
Dr. Brooks and his staff are absolutely amazing! The receptionists greet you with a smile and are always patient and friendly with all the clients. They are almost over staff in the back, not in a bad way where theyre tripping over each other, but meaning there is plenty of staff working together to get stuff done. Yes, its kind of cramped but they will be moving to their new offices very soon. Its Under New Management so if youve heard bad experiences in the past that was the people before. Dr. Brooks is so friendly, charismatic and patient, he actually looks you in the eye and LISTENS to you! Most importantly he is an amazing dentist! He has such a delicate touch and when he says hes going to numb you, trust him, hes going to numb you enough that you are not going to be in any discomfort. He has great bedside (or chairside) manner that most doctors and dentists nowadays dont seem to have anymore. Dr. Brooks seems to care about his patients, Ive honestly never met such a wonderful dentist!
I had a wisdom tooth that was killing me and my dentist said I had to go to an oral surgeon to get it removed. All the places I tried were booked up for 3 to 4 months. I called here and they got me in the next day and said Dr. Brooke would look at my tooth and hopefully be able to help me. I was a little skeptical about going here after reading there reviews but Im very glad I went. I had to wait about 45 minutes before I was seen but it was worth the wait. Dr. Brooke was amazing, he had my tooth out within 2 minutes and I barely felt it. The staff were also very understanding and polite. I will definitely be going back.
They’re nice and that’s about all I can say nice. Honestly wish I had went somewhere else for dentures. They don’t fit and are extremely uncomfortable to have in. I literally have to take them out to eat. And they say there’s nothing they can do about it. I’m definitely going somewhere else to get my next ones
Slowest dentist ever. Arrived 15 min early, took 2 hours to get back into a room and another 30 minutes just to have someone come into the room. We didn’t leave until 3 hours and 15 min after we arrived ! They did not even do anything to help my son, just referred him to see someone else! 😡
I cant speak to anyones elses experience here, but my experience was excellent. I showed up early to a chilly, crowded waiting area. But my experience cant be judged by the people present in the waiting area-- they all need dental care just the same as I do -- however they look, however loud their kids might be, etc. They are still people. Just like me. My feeling is that (in part) you get out of your dental experience what you put in. If you come with a decent attitude, determining to be kind and friendly to WHOMEVER you encounter, your visit will go better. I was warm and friendly toward the staff and they were nice towards me. But that was just in the waiting area! When I got into the dentist chair, I brought a smile and a good attitude with me, and was treated SO kindly, so warmly and very professionally by the dentist and all the assistants. All the professionals were warm and professional with one another too, which was really nice to see. I would gladly return here for my next dental visit.
When we think about the dentist we think of terrified, scared, pain and very very nervous, well that was me, it’s been 10+ years since I been to the dentist and my tooth was killing me and I was so afraid. When I walked into the new location of this office I was blown away and all of the receptionist was very kind. All I could think of is wow what a change from the last time I been to the locust so many years ago, I love the new office but then I start remembering why I was there and the pain I was in and how bad the numbness part hurts and I began getting scared again. Will keep it very short but after I got called back and I began to get butterfly’s in stomach and sat in the chair and they was all prepared to began I just prayed to my self and said I’m in pain let’s get it over, when she grabbed the needle and said close your eyes I was omg I’m bout to scream then she stuck the needle in and then again and then she said are you ok, I was like you stuck me already and she said yes, I said omg I was scared I just knew it was go hurt and she was like well I’m glad it didn’t. I had my root canal done and I’m very happy and pleased with the outcome. I never been so afraid to go back to the dentist and now that fear is gone. Every one is so nice and always smiled, I’m glad my experience was one to remember, I will not be afraid to go back, I actually looking forward to go back for cleaning every 6 months. Thanks to every one at this location you guys are the best!
Dr. Brooke is wonderful! I will follow him anywhere he goes. He rocks and I love him!!! However, this place is disgusting. It’s a dump!!! It’s disgustingly filthy. Everything is old and falling apart. I’m scared to get work done in this place. It’s shameful and the owner should really be ashamed of himself. Guarantee he wouldn’t step foot in here for his or his own families dental work. There are no partitions separating you from the patient that is only a couple feet away from you. Someone’s saliva or blood could splatter and land right in your mouth. I cannot believe this place hasn’t been shut down and fined until up to code. There’s no way this place is up to code. If it is, then I’m speechless. They are moving in the fall to S. Main St in Akron. Hoping their old, disgusting equipment goes to the dumpster and this new place is nice. I want to keep Dr. Brooke, but I don’t think I can handle the filth.
Literally just got my top two wisdom teeth out. My left side went without a hitch, however before beginning I stated how I noticed my left side was much more numb that my right. And they just went ahead and began on my right side anyways. My gum was well numbed however the rest of my right side was not meaning that my right side jaw hurt the entire time along with my right cheek with the dr pushing into my cheek to try and get my right tooth out. My face was cringing and my eyes watering from the pain but the staff didn’t seem to notice/care. This just was not a good experience if I’m being honest.
Terrible experience. Well never go back. They were 2 hours behind, it is over crowded and dirty looking. The actual dentist was very nice, but the hygienist was awful. Extremely rude and condescending. This was the first time there for my 2 kids, and definitely the LAST.
The dentist Liao , Jun Ming here did a great job pulling my three molars and the wait was not long . I’m very happy with the staff here and the dentist , and I did end up going back because I was worried and the dentist just checked everything and assured me that the extraction site was fine , very kind thank you and great dentist
If youre looking for a fantastic place to have your teeth cared for in Absolute Amazing ways this is the place to go!! I come from East Liverpool Ohio to Akron Ohio. My second oldest comes here from Ashtabula Ohio and feels like I do. These awesome people and dentist (Drs) really care about you and your teeth hands down the best place to get a cleaning done or any dental Care you need done this is the most cleaning Ive ever had done. Want whiter teeth you tell you wont regret it!
I’ve had braces since 8th grade, put on by the staff here. I’m now in 11th grade and they called us 5 months ago telling us they were no longer an orthodontist.. they said they would find us a new place to go to. After three months of no calls we searched for a new place. Now we have been waiting for 2 months for our files and it’s been a whole mess. Not to mention every single appointment we waited 2+ hours to actually get in, while arriving 30 minutes early each appointment. We gave them the benefit of the doubt as you can see we stuck around because we didn’t have much of an issue. But it’s all been downhill & I want to know what went down & why...
I have been going to Locust Dental for about 4-5 years... The staff there, with exception to Dr. Weide (God rest his soul) anyway, the staff was unbearably rude and Dr. Mark thee biggest meglomaniac... I mean I was afraid to ask the reception desk FOR ANYTHING cause they were so hateful and rude and their body language and facial expressions even worse!! I stopped going for almost year, bad for me... Upon learning of its NEW OWNERSHIP, and learning Dr. Mark and his staff were no longer there, I made an appointment... I made an appointment last week with Dr. Brook, an amazing Dentist with thee most compassionate, empathetic and truly nice staff and reception area that I have ever encountered in my whole entire life... Even if you are over the 10-15 minute late mark, they will still accept and treat you with the up most respect and care!! Also, instead of having to go back 12 times a year for just a couple cavities, no lie, the other ownership would do that no matter what, Dr. Brook and staff handled everything they had to do to me with just one visit... I HIGHLY recommend going or going back to Locust Dental under its new, friendly ownership!! Also, the wait time has been cut about 3/4 of what it used to be... Got to love that...Peace
I would give them zero stars if possible. This place was so nasty and smelled horrible thats was just in the waiting room. I about lost it when I saw the exam room well I should say area since I could see everything that was going with everyone. The ladies at the from were definitely unprofessional and ghetto. I could hear them talking about other patients and ratchetness. I was waiting for a referral I stepped put in the hall because the waiting room smelled so bad. It wasnt smell of funky people it was dirty and unclean smell very nasty. After being in the hall for about 10 minutes I went in the receptionist kept talking to her co-worker about personal stuff didnt even acknowledge me. When she finally did she looked at me with a attitude and said what? I told her I was still waiting on the referral. She said she was still working on it. No she was not she was gossiping. I left without the referral. There were so many violations including HIPPAA. There is no way I would ever return there. I called my dentist and told them DO NOT REFER people to that office. Worst place ever
Dont go here unless you want your teeth mistreated! My moms filling fell out after a week after she got it and she didnt appreciate how they were talking about where their coworkers when they are suppose to be putting their attention on her mouth. When my sister got her tooth pulled, she felt like she was gonna choke on the amount of blood coming out plus they didnt tell her anything to take care of it. My experience was mild but still bad. I got fillings and they were really rough with my mouth. Same thing as my mom, they were talking while they were suppose to focus on my mouth.
I’ve been coming to locust dental since I was in elementary school and I am now grown. I should have been switched dental places but I was being lazy and complacent. If my appointment time is 10:00am, I know that I won’t be seen until 11:30amor later. That is not okay ! I am sitting in the lobby now writing this review. I will be switching dental services after today.
Got up and left today! Waited almost a hour after appointment time to never be called or even acknowledged I was there. Had some woman putting lotion on her feet pretty much in my face. Another woman cussing to herself in front of my daughter. People walking in way past their appointment time gets taken straight back. Never been more furious in my life!!! If you go clear your schedule for the day.
TERRIBLE!!! Dont care what l have to pay, these people wont take out or put partial or plate in my mouth. This is literally a car wash style dentistry. They are speed cleaning the teeth because its close to quitting time. We all have appointments but the wait to be seen is still 1.5hrs.
Worst dental practice in Ohio. After having dental work done here I went to a real dentist who told me they did a root canal on a wisdom tooth instead of pulling it. Locust is ripping off insurance bottom line. I also had 2 cavaties, they claimed, that wasnt bothering me at all. They drilled out almost the entire teeth and filled them only to have the filling crumbling after a few months. Told me they cant repair them because my insurance ran out. Now when I drink cold or warm drinks, my teeth hurt. I wouldnt recommend this place if they offered work for free
This office overbooks appointments daily - I took my son there for braces and we go once a month. The waiting room is always full and sometimes we had to wait out in the hallway. Sometimes we wait half an hour, other times we wait 2 hours. I recently went to another orthodontist for a second opinion and has since switched to him. Dont let these people talk you into putting braces on your kids when they have a bunch of baby teeth! That is what they did to us 2 years ago and his teeth are no where near being done - in fact it caused problems with his lower jaw! Our new dentist says that putting braces on before all the permanent teeth are in is a waste of money and time - and you put your kid through a lot of unnecessary pain.
Dont let them put braces on before your child gets all their adult teeth, its a scam to milk your insurance! It puts 2 extra years on having braces and since its the adult teeth that need rearranging its a waste of time and money. Get a second opinion and talk to your insurance provider
Please guys don’t go there i beg you don’t go there they had my wife tooth messed up. Over filled and she is in pain crying all day and night have not been eating lately due to pain. When we contact them they do not seems to care all they did was give pain medicine. She been like this for past 3 weeks still not done anything :(
I dont even want to give it one star... This place is dirty and should be shut down. There is one lady there that is a complete B*tch and has been rude to my son. They made my fiancé sign something that if my sons bracket becomes loose again on his braces they will take them off. He has been without a wire on his bottom teeth to his braces for over a month and at todays visit they took the top wore off along with the two brackets on his front teeth... What is the point of having braces when you dont have the wire to pull them in place... I do not recommend this place to anyone!!!!
This place is one of the most unprofessional, unsanitary, ghetto, ratchet places that Ive ever been to. There were 37 people sitting in the waiting room, people sitting in the hallway, there is no form of privacy what so ever. The workers are not discreet with clients personal information, they are loud, unorganized, and unprofessional. I will NEVER take my daughters to this place ever again... Searching for a new dentist as Im sitting in their waiting room!
Walked in, saw how filthy & ghetto & unorganized the place was and walked back out. Yes, most people being seen there are on government insurance but that doesnt give you the right to have the office in those conditions. I wouldnt recommend to my worst enemy! Find somewhere else. Filthy, loud, one woman had been waiting for close to 2 hours...RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!!!
They are very friendly and nice but expect to way about 2 hours in the waiting room just to be seen it’s absolutely ridiculous, most Doctors office should will have you seen about 10-15mins after you arrive but this places waiting time is ridiculous even when you have an appointment!
The worst place I have ever been to... I have the best ins and they turned it down... no military / retired plans for them .... everyone is in the same room (everybody) IDK how many chairs are but at least 6 or 7 ... all they want is the money and payed BEFORE you go to the chair...

2022-02-11I love my dentist here. I’ve had everything done from fillings, root canals, crowns and extraction. And everything is done professionally. He explains everything and includes me in decisions. I finally found a place I trust and feel comfortable going for my dental work. The staff in the front is very friendly and helpful. The assistants in the back are well trained. I’ve had numerous appointments here and never had an issue. The place is spotless. I feel very lucky I found this dentist office and dentist and will never switch. Thank you everyone at locust dental. You all are doing an amazing job. And if your looking for a dentist office don’t think twice go here. I moved here from Long Island in august and had to find a new dentist in Ohio and I couldn’t be happier.

2022-03-02Locust Dental is very patient friendly and my dentist Ms Alexander is so kind and informative on procedure . I am extremely satisfied with the dental work so far. I have had 21 teeth extracted and they explained the procedure in detail and healing time when I can get dentures made and fitted. I highly recommend Locust Dental They have a clean office nice staff and very fair dental prices compared to other dental place. I’m very happy with their service.I recommend their service as the best in town!

2022-07-21I have been coming here for way too long. No preventative plan on decay. No mouth guard despite asking for my entire time with this dentist. Dental work needs repaired by them almost next day. I sit in a waiting room with PINBALL MACHINES… because the sound of steel banging on steel is a great way to prep for dental work. The amount of money this place has gotten from my insurance I should not have to return once a week or three weeks for this and that. I had a crown put in that I was very reluctant to pay for due to the fact I have to return so frequently to have partials repaired.. I did it anyways. A snug fit that I can feel in my mouth, which I told both the dentist and whom ever else could manage to listen in between jetting from room to room, presumably multi tasking patients. They said I was wrong… right because I can’t feel the atrocious work you did to my mouth that I paid for. Instead of fixing light work they THEN make me a mouth guard… after years of broken teeth… and what happens when I go to get it? They forget… they drill two teeth that didn’t need work so they could “fit” their work ( never ever let a dentist drill on another tooth to fit their work. )… I go home and can not even sleep my bite is so bad, nor did I get a mouth guard my insurance paid for. I’ve never even been handed a tooth brush by this dentist. Just in and out, unprofessional as hell. When I was told to come BACK for my mouth guard , next day, because of course all anyone has time for in life is getting a dentist rich, I was not given a time to return, and instead sat in the waiting room missing work for an hour only to be rudely interrupted by their receptionist who’s de escalation tactics in a matter like this are so blatantly rude. I’m not getting treated like trash by these people anymore. Enjoy your pinball ball machines, I’d give the place a two star if it were considered an arcade instead of a dentist.

2022-04-10Everyone is so friendly and the facility is clean. I recently had to have several teeth pulled at once I think 12 or 13 and I was really afraid but I was given nerve medicine the night before and the day of and I didnt even know what was going on, it was done quickly and professionally and my mouth has healed up just beautifully!!! Everything is explained to you step by step so that you are aware of whats going to be happening, even when I was being fitted for my dentures the whole process was explained in great detail so that I know exactly what to expect. I just really like this dental facility.....a lot!😁

2022-06-13In the handful of times Ive been while in Akron, every visit --esp. todays has been pleasant and thorough. Never had any long, crazy wait times. Environment is clean, neat and feels new. Each person-- from the check-in to the xray technician, teeth cleaner, dentist, and receptionist on the way out--was very warm with good vibes. Thats half the battle when going to the dentist without super great insurance.

2022-07-05I was terrified of getting my teeth filled because of bad experiences at other dentists. But Locust actually made me comfortable and my dentist was nice and made sure I felt okay and numb the entire time. One of the best experiences I had at a dentist :)

2022-03-25I love Locust Dental. I always feel comfortable going to them for my dental needs. They make sure I understand what they are going to do and what I should expect. All the staff is professional and kind.
