Good first time visit. Menu has a better than expected craft beer offering and what you would expect as far as cocktails. A very good variety of tacos. I had the americano and the wheezy. Both were good and flavorful. I look forward to returning and trying some additional offerings. I recommend the queso, even after it cooled off it was still good.
Not impressed. Busy Friday night, never got greeted. Eventually I just started wandering around until I could flag down a server and ask where to pick up my takeout. The bar.The wonderful bar, center piece of the establishment, completely packed with no way to approach or get a bartenders attention unless you rudely want to reach over someone.Finally, I just went around the back wall and waited till a bartender walked by and flagged them down. Nobody was rude, far from, but very disorganized operation for sure.The food was also less than impressive. One of the 3 tacos we ordered was an Avocado BLT, with no tomato. Apparently this means no avocdo too, because we got a single strip of bacon and some shredded lettuce in a flour tortilla. With a micro dot of sauce at on end. For $4. It was thick cut bacon though, that single strip.The other 2 tacos were not impressive either. My online order said 20 minutes. I arrived in 15 minutes. My tacos tasted 15 hours old. The ingredients were sparse and just overall lackluster. At a price point of $4 to $5 a taco I expect a little better.First time, last time :(
The second Local I have visited. The food is just as excellent and the service was great. Atmosphere in the heart of old Canal is great on a warm day. Great place to go if youre in the area.
Not the best tacos, but certainly not the worst. Good margarita if you spring for top shelf. Always great wait staff, always a good time.
Nice place, not sure why modern music playing in Mexican restaurant! Food was below average, vert bland. Portions a bit on the small side. Some real hot sauce would have been nice.
Had a fantastic experience tonight! Was told a 20 minute wait but actually 10 minute. They brought the wrong taco but made right quickly and also comped my Paloma(unnecessary because I’m not fussy)! Can’t wait to go back!!
Went for a takeout mustang ride, guess I wasnt the preferred color, imean customer that night🤣🤣🤣🤣😕 as soon as I park the bartender/waitress came and locked the door🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️ as I was walking towards it...they were clearly open until 2 and it was about 12am. Had to drive 20 minutes to the one on the Westside. Sad part was there were customers inside still...

Nice little place in downtown Canal. Food was good Draft beer lines were dirty. You could tell by the taste. Overall though, Id go back.

Dont order to go when they are busy. My fish taco was lacking in the fish. It was as long as my pinky finger. About half the the length of the taco and i was charged full price.
Came here during March madness....no mens basketball games on....multiple people at the bar requesting. All the devoted to softball and womens basketball...staff VERY SLOW to change to customers request. Do t get me wrong..love softball...but its MARCH MADNESSS!!! CHIPS ARE STALE SAUCES AUB PAR....STAFF A + BUT FOOD...VERY BAD. DRINKS....NOT GOOD. WILL NOT RETURN...MUCH BETTER MRXICAN IN LITHOPOLIOUS.
Our server was awesome, she made suggestions and had a thorough knowledge of the menu. The music was a little loud, but no big deal. Very reasonably priced with a great menu to choose from, including the cocktail and craft beer selections.

Very disappointing experience. The food was pretty good. The service was average. What really ruined it was the fact that they insisted on charging me full price for a virgin drink for my daughter. Eight dollars for what amounts to a lemonade is not reasonable. By far, the most expensive thing you put in an alcoholic drink is the alcohol. If you dont put it in the drink, you shouldnt charge as if you did. I asked before I ordered a second one just make sure that I was being charged a fair, reduced price. The server had to check and, sure enough, it was the same price with or without alcohol. Im not sure who made that decision, but its a deal breaker. That kind of greed is really over the top. Ive NEVER ask for something for nothing but I do expect businesses to be fair and to not take advantage of their patrons. Of course, nobody in our party ordered any other drinks and we left ASAP...but Im still puzzled over the short-sightedness of the people in charge at Local Cantina in Canal Winchester.
I liked the vibe and the drinks are not overpriced, but we waited an hour for 4 tacos and they were gross. My taco had lime buried inside; lime quarter with skin on it. That was a bitter surprise.
Went there on opening night. Place was hopping. Service was great. They seemed well prepared. Food was excellent. Ive eaten at two other locations and there was no difference. Cant beat the $2 tacos on Tuesdays.

Great place, I would give a 5 star but the chicken chimichanga had refried beans inside it ( which I’ve never heard of) besides that the food was good and the atmosphere was amazing.

2022-05-11This was my first time. The service was great. Love the decor. You serve yourself your own nachos. This was pretty cool. I wasnt really feeling the food, but I think its more appropriate for people who looking for drinks and a bite. So if you like to have drinks and hang out with friends, this is for you. I wanted good food, not to drink.

2022-07-05This was my first time visiting the location in Canal Winchester. The first waiter, Andre, seemed really good and caring and took my order. Later switched seats and was placed with a waitress called Elisabeth. The latter experience was terrible. She seemed disinterested in providing service. I got the chicken fajitas which had little to no taste at all. Needless to say, it will be my first and last visit. Not recommended.

2021-08-02Fun atmosphere, tasty food and good tunes, tacos were great, lots of creative options at a very fair price. Employees were friendly helpful. My 88 year old Dad had the carnitas skillet and I had an assortment of tacos. Ill be back alone and or with friends to check out the margarita options.

2021-08-03Entering the building to an upbeat atmosphere, conversation and catchy music your world changes. A warm welcome and quick seating got us our drinks quickly. Standard fare greeted us as we received chips and salsa. We began our first visit with some elote (street corn) which was delicious! The choices for entrees is quite diverse with over a dozen taco options, bowls, quesadillas. Really recommend trying a Mustache Ride for your libation and an assortment of tacos ☺️

2022-06-16Nice atmosphere and music. Self serve salsa and chips which made me a bit uncomfortable. Who knows who has been dipping their hands in the chips? My friend and I got two tacos each. We were both very disappointed. The tacos need to come with a heat warning. Way too spicy! Chunks of meat were too big and chewy. The corn tortilla disintegrated immediately and I picked through the filling with a fork. Did not finish because it was too spicy. Frustrated to spend $8 on two tacos I could not eat.

2022-06-14Ive been there twice. I dont plan to go again. The first time I went, the service was terrible and our food was cold and there was little of it. The only reason there was a second time is the couple we were with insisted theyd had a good experience there and we should try it again. We did. We all four regretted it. Three of us had tacos, one had a taco salad, all of us had chips and salsa. Our mouths were a little hot, which surprised us because the last time either couple was their, separately, the salsa was medium to mild. But the taco salad was off the chart hot. The person who ordered the taco salad did not finish it and later became ill. They should have complained, but some people are just too polite I guess. If the menu said be careful, this stuff is way hot, it would be different. Theres just too much inconsistency to make us want to go back.

2022-02-16Fabulous! Pleasantly surprised it was so unique! Everything we had from guacamole to grilled fish tacos absolutely wonderful! The happy hour margaritas and the whole staff very delightful! Wonderful experience...give it a try you wont be disappointed! Love it!

2022-06-26The staff is friendly usually, the environment is good, nicely decorated, clean.... the nachos are sweet??? As in the taste is sweet not that I admire, approve of, or am excited over them. The food is meh. Ive eaten there a couple of times and am never super impressed.

2022-07-12I thought this was a Mexican restaurant, it is not. I did not care for the food but thats just me. The salsa was sugar and tomato paste, it would have been nice for different salsa options. BUT the staff was so nice and the atmosphere is really cool. I give it 5 stars because the margaritas are very good and strong!!

2022-07-05Good atmosphere and decent food and drinks. Slow service. Keep an eye on your check for accuracy - we waited 25 minutes for the check (with only 3 other tables at 3-4pm) until I tracked someone down, then we were charged $64 for what shouldve been $48. We were on a time crunch from waiting so long for the check, so pointing it out and waiting even longer to have it fixed wasnt an option. Probably wont be back because were closer to El Pedregal, which has better service.
