Little Fish Brewing Company in other cities:
The food is stunning, very unique and delicious. You wont find food like this anywhere else in Athens, OH. The craft beer is of course also top notch. Lovely ambiance inside and plenty of space to sit outside. Staff is friendly. You order everything using a QR code which is also very efficient and food is served quickly. 100% recommended this place and is a must visit if ever in Athens.
One of the finest breweries in Ohio, if not the nation. Very innovative in the beers they brew. They use as many Ohio sourced ingredients as possible, even grow some of the hops they use in their beers.Solar powered brewery, 100% independently owned.Recently added a house on brewery property that can be rented thru airbnb.Worth a visit any time I am in Athens. Only about an hour drive south of Columbus, Ohio.
OK long time patron of little fish. But tonight oh my God the pork chop was killer! We had gone to another local restaurant for date night and we were disappointed. So we popped off to little fish for a beer and found out pork and pickels had pork chops left! They were fabulous! I am tossing my left overs out from the other place. But Devoured litte fish! Good job pork and pickles, and little fish 🐟
Legitimately my favorite brewery. They are always experimenting. They have insanely good sours. The food truck has great chicken and their outdoor seating is picturesque. The fact they happily allow dogs and kids is just the icing on the cake. I absolutely love this place.
Some notes if you’re coming here during covid, which to be honest is most of 2020 right ? They only allow three people inside at a time unless you’re using the restroom. They have five picnic tables under the shade, which they clean after each party leaves. They have three tables in the sun. As you probably noticed In the pictures they allow dogs 💙
One of the best, certainly one of the most interesting, breweries in Ohio. There is beer here that has been made from one hundred percent Ohio sourced ingredients. Their flagship saison is delicious, but they also have some really wild beers; such as one brewed with Oyster mushrooms and the collaboration beer in my pictures that they brewed with Seventh Son.
More important tasting research accomplished during our vacation. My Maker of Things sour beer is awesome, just a perfect, delicious sour. My wife is loving the Pigeon Hawk IPA which, for her, has the right amount of hoppy and bitterness. The best part of this brewery is that they are spot on with their COVID-19 preparation and service. Constant disinfecting, contactless ordering, and great table spacing outdoors. One of my new favorite breweries in Ohio!#OhioCraftBeer #thegoodlife #thebalancedlife #AthensOH
First time in the area and the first local brewery we visited. Well worth the stop. I had the Coffee Vanilla Double Harveys, a 10.5% that didnt have a heavy alcohol taste and very smooth. My hubby had Pigeon Hawk Session IPA and really liked it. He is a big IPA guy and recommends. It was late when we stopped but enjoyed walking their climbing bine path. Plus, it is right by the bike trail that well be checking out in the morning.
Fantastic beers, fantastic food. I had the Mexican street corn and they definitely did the dish justice. The pesto on the veggie bowl tasted like my moms homemade pesto. The bartender Vic give us perfect suggestions and we all ended up with drinks we loved. Highly recommend!
A truly amazing brewery. Every beer that I have had here is fantastic, and the variety of beers on tap at any time is huge. With the addition of the kitchen, and Chef Becky Clark managing it, Little Fish now has delicious food options as well. The outdoor space is fantastic, theyve expanded it to include much of the property, so you can let the kids explore while you a have a brew.
Food phenomenal. We had salad, truffle fries, salmon bowl and pepperoni pizza. All amazing. Fresh local ingredients. The salad was amazing as well as the pizza. Husband loved the salmon too. Didn’t try the brew. Had a margarita instead but it was so so. Fair warning — the crazy city of Athens has an indoor mask mandate even in October 2021. We were shocked and not happy. Felt like we were in Illinois or California. Almost left because of this but glad we stayed after all.
The food selection is extensive, interesting, and the quality is top top!! Chef Becky’s brunch offers the most delicious biscuits and gravy I have had in a long while. The chorizo bowl was out of this world as well. A must do place not just for great beers but for exquisite salads, pizzas and more.
Ive had the beer before, so I already knew the beer would be fantastic. But this was my first time here, so I didnt know what to expect with the food. Let me tell you - this has to be the best food Ive ever had at a brewery. I got the chorizo bowl, and it was so good that I got one to go as well. Highly recommend.
We wanted to like it. We really did, but it turned out to be a bust. I understand that this place is mainly a brewery that serves food, but it was just a bit blah. First we were hit with the fact that the only non-alcoholic drinks were a cranberry seltzer and a homemade ginger ale, neither of which are all that good. Then theres the burger, Ive never experienced a hamburger with no taste. Literally the only flavors were the beet ketchup and the blue cheese. This truly is a miracle of modern science as to how you can have a burger that has no flavor whatsoever. It was cooked medium which normally causes a burger to have even more flavor but not this, oh no not this one. I would have tossed the burger aside and ate the napkin but they forgot to bring napkins as well as silverware. Now Im all about giving people a chance, people forget things Thats true, But they didnt forget their mandatory 18% gratuity that I have no choice but to pay. Heres a good one for them, normally for good service Ill pay 25 to 30% gratuity but because I was forced to pay a gratuity they got the minimum 18%. This gratuity basically is only to pay the waiters and waitresses to bring you your food because thats all they do. Everything else is taken care of on your phone, ordering of drinks, food, anything and everything. I read a lot of reviews, unfortunately I read them after we already got there I noticed that almost all of the reviews that are positive, mentioned only how amazing their brews are. No mention or very little mention of the food. Oh and you can make no substitutions all you can do is leave things off if you dont want them. So as I paid my bill by credit card ( which is the only way you can) and bused my own table, I thought back to the day that I stopped at Eclipse Company Store and had the most flavorful burger I believe Ive ever had in a restaurant and Ive had some damn expensive burgers in a lot of different restaurants. By the way Ill go ahead and let Little Fish have their one star because I hear the sours are really good here........
Best food for a brewery yet! Wild mushrooms pizza with added sausage to die for. Also fantastic mixed greens salad with salmon and homemade sour ale dressing. Great beer. Loved the 4 my hubby and I tried. Bike friendly, right off the HockHocking Adena bike trail. An interesting, and efficient new way to order (toast). Wish there was one in our area in Michigan!!
So we stopped by Little Fish today after fishing at Dow Lake for a few hours this morning and thought wed have a beer or two. Immediately met by a young lady who explained that there was a $10 fee to sit at a table. $10 dollars just to sit down....A fee for cleaning, upkeep, catching up, etc...I understand how things are right now and decided that we would pay the fee however I tried to give them a ten dollar bill which they refused. We are trying to stay away from money she replied...I gave a card and thought that it would be billed for the ten and sat down to a menu that had rules all over it. Now keep in mind this menu was not given to us at the beginning and explains that we had to bus our own table, had an automatic %18 gratuity added to our tab, everything would be paid with cards and that it would be on one card. Food and drink were fine but upon paying at the end the server was asked for a receipt and was visibly upset.....This is when we found that everything was on the same card....again this was not explained right up front...Plus the rules more or less say if you dont like it then go somewhere else. This is such a horrible way to treat your customers in a time like this....gouging money out of them ($10 table fee and automatic %18 gratuity) and taking advantage of those that want to get out and enjoy and little time in the sun. This place should be ashamed....I am a local and have been here several times before...Athens has had 18 cases of COVID.
Little Fish has COVID service down pat. I was so impressed with the hostesss efficiency and ability to follow her process in a customer-friendly way. We loved the patio tables and the atmosphere. But the food... we were BLOWN away. My husband and I got the garlic & greens pizza and the barbacoa bowl. I honestly dont think Ive tasted flavor like that before. I would drive all the way from Columbus just to have those dishes for dinner.
We came in not too long after opening hours and everyone was friendly and helpful! We dont actually drink beer but we wanted to try something new. I enjoyed trying the smoked salmon dip as well as the salmon burger. The only thing that could have made it better was an option for a bun for the burger, and softer pita for the dip but it was no big deal at all. We tried the seltzer and ginger ale (0% for those of you looking for something made in house with no alcohol) and both were pretty good. Overall a great experience, amazing employees, lovely atmosphere, and the outdoor area looked amazing! I deeply appreciated the EV charger that was available for use, and our lovely bartender that checked on us from time to time. Definitely an excellent experience for first time visit to a brewery!
Its been about 10 years since Ive been back to Athens since school. This little gem was totally worth a small detour and stop! Beers are absolutely delicious (I had the Lambos and Caviar, And The Giving Tree). And the food is pretty stellar too! Its a small place but they have a decent size outdoor patio and ample parking.Overall, id say its now one of my favorite breweries in the state! Im just sad its 3-hours away. Cheers!
Great beer (wonderful variety of stouts, IPAs, sours, etc), great food- cute atmosphere - but service is lacking. Not that service was bad but bartenders were not engaging and did not jump to help with recommendations. They seemed like they really didnt want to be there. May have been a bad day. We plan in going back for the beer and food and hope the next service experience is better.
We wont be going back. It is an okay place to eat but not our style and food wasnt that great. Also the COVID stipulations are crazy. No menus. No servers. Bus your own table. Seating is all outdoors which is fine but most of the tables are in the sun so not ideal on a hot day. Also it was a whole ordeal when asking for extra on something (i.e. onions on a burger). We arent beer enthusiasts but our group didnt care for the beer we tried either.
My family and came for a late lunch on Saturday, May 23rd. I must admit, I was a little nervous heading out for the first time, but we couldn’t miss stopping at Little Fish during our OU/biking visit. The attention to detail was amazing. Everyone was masked, spaced out, and really focused on keeping everyone safe. There were even flags on the table to call a server over only when you needed them. The servers thanked us many times for stopping in. The food and beer, of course, was delicious! They always have a great selection beers. We did have to pay an extra $10 to reserve the table, but this was used to cover the cost of compostable cups, utensils, and plates. It was a small price to pay and we appreciate their environmentally friendly practices. Plus, if we don’t help these small businesses right now, we could lose a gem like this forever!
More than a hundred days after the start of the pandemic, my husband and I finally went out to eat, and we chose Little Fish as our outing. We had an absolutely phenomenal experience. The system and the service offered at the restaurant made us feel at ease, and the food and drinks were, as always, unparalleled. The sous chef, Zach, hand-delivered our meals and made sure everything was perfect. We know that Little Fish could bring their restaurant indoors, as many restaurants have done, but they are not worried about monetary gain, and we appreciate that. We like that they put the safety of their clientele first, and we will remain loyal patrons. We love the fact that Little Fish was able to provide the same amazing experience, even in these COVID times. We will be back again and again.
Love little fish and was very comfortable with the contactless pick up service from a table outside. But they recently changed, so that you have to go into the brewery to pick up stuff ordered online where other people line up to order. I’m far less likely to go back. For online order pick up, a table to pick it up outside is contactless, doesn’t seem hard to do, and overall is much more comfortable.
Cold beer, local microbrew, great music this evening . They really craft very fine brews. They are fearless in bringing new flavors and exercise high art. They location has improved parking, and the new kitchen has really upped their game as well. Family friendly but also still a good place for adults and couples. They bring in small local music groups . You can listen or move to more private spaces ad the location has different spaces available inside, outside and under the shelterhouse. Both bar and tables. Informal but effective stage. You can also be seated near the barrels! Clean and friendly, very tasty.
Not only do they have amazing beer and food but during this COVID pandemic they are doing everything right. Going above and beyond making all their patrons feels comfortable and safe while enjoying their food and beer and a nice summer day! Thanks for an awesome experience!
I just read another post that detailed almost verbatim what we experienced when we came... not allowed to sit down until we listened to their long list of Covid-19 rules... the “menu” had a list of Covid symptoms on it... 18% gratuity for busing your own table! Our meal took FOREVER to get there, and when I finally worked up the courage to don my mask and go in the building to ask where our food was, I was told it would be “5” minutes. Yeah... 10 minutes later the waitress came and told us it wouldn’t be much longer, but apparently they’d “flipped” our kids’ pizzas... don’t know what that meant exactly. So... stay away from this place, unless you want to spend your entire meal thinking about Covid-19 and feeling like you’re a burden on them for just being there. I’m certain there are plenty of other restaurants somewhere else where the staff would be happy for the business. If I could give zero stars I would.
Ive had the pleasure of eating at Little Fish, once for breakfast, once for dinner. Breakfast was delicious. For dinner, we ordered two pizzas. My husband asked for extra sauce and was told no, the pizza had the perfect ratio of toppings. He found it quite dry and unappealing. We didnt understand why a simple request could not be honored.

2022-06-13Excellent location, we needed to nosh after a nice long bike ride and it was the perfect evening for a patio, so we ended up at Little Fish. The service was AMAZING, everyone was so friendly and attentive. Their patio space is really nice and they have a decent amount of parking for guests. We enjoyed salad and pizza as well as seltzer waters. Everything was better than we could have hoped for. This is truly a gem of a spot!

2022-05-22Not a bad little company. We dont drink, but the burger was delightful, the salad was tasteless and the pizza seemed generic. The little plate for kids was nice.

2022-05-25The employees were great and friendly. Id never been here before so I had questions about the food and beer. They steered me in the right direction. The Wild Thrush beer was delicious and similar to the German Hefe Weizen. The spinach and sausage pizza was amazing. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day. The outside seating is cozy. Im looking forward to my next dining visit.

2022-04-17Decent place to drink. Not a ton of food options. The pepperoni pizza is a Detroit style deep dish. Its thick

2021-05-27Stopped in on an afternoon. I really liked their protocol for Covid times. Order, pay, and everything from your phone. We chose to sit on the patio. My husband tried multiple sours and genuinely liked them all. I got the Coffee-Vanilla Double Harveys imperial milk stout which was quite good. Had some great buffalo cauliflower for an appetizer. Perfect balance of buffalo and creaminess from the blue cheese. Also had the Nuts and Greens salad and the house burger. Everything was delicious! Would definitely stop here again when in the area.

2021-08-17Friendly service, great beer, even greater food, and a perfect atmosphere. We ate on the patio outside and viewed the growing hops and the hills behind them. The online ordering made getting service very accessible without undue table touching. I can’t wait to come back.

2022-04-02Little Fish offers a vast array of beer on tap and delicious food. They have my favorite bartenders and are always a delight to see. This is a place that could easily become your go-to spot to hang out and try new brews. Must try if youre in the area.
