Lindeys in other cities:
Love German village area of Columbus! Plus this building has a lot of old charm.Fine dining setup, i.e. the way they place water, how they refill water, how they refresh your cutleries in between courses are all top notch.Food comes a little slow, even when the restaurant is not busy. So don’t go here if you’re in a hurry!I ordered Burrata. The cheese is soft and fresh. Toasted bread is firm but still pillowy, perfect friend for the chunks of fresh tomatoes, the tomato sauce & pesto. Make sure to add freshly cracked black pepper to the burrata. The lobster bisque is also good. It’s not the best dish but if you’re craving something warm, it does the job well. The only wish is for it to have a tiny bit more lobster bits. I only got maybe 3-4 tiny pieces in my cup.The turkey & ham sandwich is good too. The bun is buttery & soft. They give you a LOT of turkey & ham. Totally worth the price. The coleslaw and mustard sauce is also good. A recommendation to put mustard sauce on top and bottom buns. It’s that good!
Perfect spot for a date that feels classy, yet relaxed. The beef tournedos was absolutely cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. Gin and Tonic was the best i’ve had in a while. Emily was an excellent waitress and gave us great help with the menu and also hints for where to go after dinner.
Delicious breakfast choice. Huevos Rancheros was cooked perfectly as well as my tablemates choices. Our appetizer was burrata which was prepared just right (mozzarella in a squash sauce). Mimosas available. Table service was prompt and friendly. Menu included a burger and a chicken choice for a non brunch choice. Double deck and outdoor dining is also offered in warmer months. Parking is tight so consider valet . Today the restaurant opened at 11, so check hours accordingly. A nice way to spend a leisurely afternoon.
This was a very special occasion And wanted my neice to have a wonderful experience. We were not let down. The service and food was wonderful. The servers helped us celebrate this occasion. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone. Reservations where made on OpenTable hoping to get seated outside. The only way you can get seated outside is first come first serve and not by Open table so please keep that in mind.
My wife and I had lunch here and with our two friends had dinner here, both on Sunday. Our waiter both times was John. He was super; he listened to our needs of less salt and the food was delicious and not too salty. We have always had good food at Lindey’s, and impeccable service. Our meals and John continued that, now, tradition. Also praise for the valet-parking guys. They were exemplary. We all came back for dinner tonight Wednesday and had great service from Chris and great food. Our friends both had the French Onion Soup and loved it. My wife had the trout, which was delicious. I had the angel hair pasta with a Cajun cream sauce and blackened shrimp, super tasty. Another great experience.
This is one of the famous restaurants in Columbus OH (German town area), locals go to celebrate their anniversary, birthday or for fine dining experience. If you come from a big city, their food prices are rather reasonable with respect to their service and food quality. They have wonderful and friendly staff to accommodate your needs.During weeknights or weekends, you may not be able to get seated right away without making a reservation (they are pretty accommodating).During summer nights, seating outside on their patio will provide you even better fine dining experience.Their food are wonderful and their service is even more wonderful. Here are tips:- Food: even their burger is tasty- Service: attentive and friendly- Restroom: clean- Parking: no private parking and public parking is tricky (street parking is super limited and do not park illegally, you will get a ticket)- Make a reservation ahead of time
I had a wonderful lunch here - Lindeys is known for great service, great food, and catering to the citys higher profile patrons - all of which I experienced during my visit. From the hostess, to the servers and bus boys, the focus on customer service is pinnacle at Lindeys. I did not have to wait long for my Tartare, which was not only aesthetically appealing, the flavor was bold and paired perfectly. One of the best Tartare I have ever ordered. I followed the appetizer with a Crispy Spicy Chicken Sandwich with fries, which was also one of the best hot chicken sandwiches I have ever eaten. The poppyseed/sesame seed bun was glazed lightly with butter which gave it a brilliant shine and flavor. Coleslaw was a heavier mayo base, but paired really nicely with the chicken, which was mild for my heat index, but I like to sweat a little when it comes to my flavor profile. If you ever want to rub elbows with the affluent of Columbus, this is the spot. Judges, attorneys, CEOs, and political pundits alike were ringing in the New Year and catching up from over the holidays. Great food, great environment - will be back!
Went for the second time with my partner for dinner and drinks. Was a beautiful day so we waited for a table outside, drank at the bar for nearly an hour, and was sat inside anyway. Our waitress was rude sometimes and kind at other times, asking me for my ID but my partner for none (even though we had been drinking at the bar for an hour already…) but the hostesses were amazing when they pulled some strings to get us moved outside. Beautiful patio, very romantic.
My biggest gripe is the price. The food was all good, not great. I got the risotto and the table shared calamari and the post Mortem dessert. But nothing was memorable for me. $30+ felt steep for my risotto especially since it wasn’t made to order with a 30 min wait and was light on the lobster. The service was great though, everyone had tons of personality and was very attentive. The atmosphere is also nice, but a little too old-school fine dining vibes for my preference. It’s a CBus staple, but not my favorite.
Brunch on the outdoor patio. Food was very good, the only negative was that they were out of two items on the menu that we wanted as we there at the end of the brunch period. The six of us enjoyed the meal and the experience. The outdoor patio is beautifully decorated with amazing floral and horticultural decor. Lindeys has been at the top of our favorite restaurants for decades.
Probably one of the best restaurants in Ohio for various reasons: service, consistent quality of dishes served, wine and spirit selection, and enjoyable outdoor patio. The lunch prices are quite reasonable, perhaps only 20% above the average restaurant, despite quality being much higher above the average Columbus restaurant. Strongly recommend their Bellini cocktail!
Everything here was incredible. I like my steaks cooked char-rare and most restaurants fail to pull this off, but Lindeys knocked it out of the park. The mussels and angel hair pasta with cajun shrimp were also outstanding. The cocktails were well executed and the beer was served very cold. Finally, four of us split one brownie dessert that was so big we almost didnt finish it. The atmosphere, food and service made it a pleasure to leave a generous tip...they actually deserved it.
We are so lucky to have this restaurant in our city and in the German Village neighborhood specifically. The food and service is always amazing and the patio is comfy and inviting. Whether youre looking for a fun brunch spot or a romantic date night, Lindeys is always the perfect place.
Cozy upscale dining for a very reasonable price given the great quality of the food. Started with lobster bisque in a cup and it was creamy and delicious. I followed up with the Australian lamb chops and they were cooked perfectly to order. Would recommend for anyone wanting a great meal. Make sure to reserve!
I took my 92 year old mother and my daughter out for Mother’s Day. Had reservations. Told the hostess that we cold not go upstairs because she was not able to walk stairs. So the hostess gave use a choice of two table next to the door and the hostess stand. When clearly there was tables available along the back wall. They stayed empty the whole time we were there. Food was good. Had to ask for bread and butter after we got our meal. Butter had a hair in it. Got the rest of my nut crusted chicken salad to go home with . I had both sauces on the side. The sauces makes the meal. Got it home the two sauces had maybe one teaspoon in each of the containers. I was so upset when I got it home that I ended up throwing it away. One of the worst experiences in such a important day for my 92 year old mother. I did not complain while there because I had her with me.
Every portion of the meal, drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts were absolutely fantastic.Lyndeys has been awarded the best restaurant in Columbus for a many years and they definitely proved it to us!You will not find better service, drinks, food or atmosphere anywhere in Columbus.
The food, the atmosphere, the service, everything about this place was fantastic!I had the lamb while my date had the salmon.I.n.c.r.e.d.i.b.l.e.There are no other words. Support small business, and enjoy taste sensations you didn’t know existed!Keep it up Lindey’sP.S. I came up from Cincinnati. I will be back to Columbus and use any excuse I can to return here.
My boyfriend took me here for my birthday today. It was our first experience here. It wasn’t great by any means. We thought the reviews looked good so we took a chance but we won’t be returning. The waitress spilled sauce all over my phone and purse. The chicken I ordered was bloody. And when we were ready to leave they insisted on giving me a dessert even though I declined twice. I asked if they could just take a percentage off my meal instead, they said no. The manager didn’t even stop by the table to apologize.
Lindeys patio must be the best outdoor dining spot in town! Seating is very comfortable amongst lots of greenery and shade trees even on the warmest days. Of course, the food is forever fabulous with the chicken, pork chops and lamb chops cooked to excellence accompanied by very fresh salads and then followed by the brownie and key lime pie which is to die for!!! What a delightful and romantic dining experience!
Honestly, we went to Lindeys this past weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary and for the first time ever it was disappointing. The food just wasnt as good as it has been in prior visits, the chopped salad was not pleasant at all, it was like chewing an unpleasant garnish. The waitress chose to ignore that it clearly was not eaten/enjoyed. We had the potstickers, be forewarned, inexplicably theyve changed the sauce, the slaw, and theyre no longer truly potstickers, theyre deep fried dumplings and mediocre ones at that. The risotto was very good, the fillet was delicious. The scallops that we added to the fillet were absolutely delicious but incredibly overpriced for two scallops. The mashed potatoes tasted as though they were overly thinned, they were neither well seasoned nor anything better than a fast food mashed potato. The creme brûlée was very nice, the chocolate brownie was fine although the Kahlua sauce was gloppy. In balance, the meal and the experience did not match our expectations based on our prior visits. Valet parking is easy and very good. Im sure well be back, but another visit like this one and we probably would not.
The atmosphere on the patio takes you away from anything in Columbus! We love going here just for the escape. I have to give 4 stars because the service was very slow and as a disabled person none of the staff was accommodating. I was disappointed by that. Ill of course be back when I heal up and I hope it will be the service that Im normally use too.
Definitely one of the best experience i had.My waitress was very very friendly and she suggested to try half portions to have more variety. I got the Carpaccio, Lobster bisque, tournedos of beef and Angel hair. They were all great, but if i had the choose one, its the Angel hair! Their terrace too is very charming!
First time there after several recommendations and its no wonder why its one of the top restaurants in Columbus. German Village is made better by Lindeys atmosphere. The food is incredible; not a single entree or appetizer in our 6-top was below average. All the cocktails were too notch, heavy pours. Dont let the prices deter you because you will leave satisfied and wanting to come back.
We came down from Cleveland for the weekend and everyone recommended Lindeys as a must go to restaurant in Columbus. The service was great, however the food was lacking flavor. We ordered the calamari and shrimp appetizer. The added fried lemon slices and fried peppadew peppers added a unique flavor profile. Unfortunately, the calamari was not very good. Ive had better at chain restaurants. The breading was not flavorful and had a greasyness to it. Definitely not worth it. We also tried the pot stickers appetizer. These were just bad, again no flavor and the dough was not an authentic asian pots sticker type dough. The frozen chicken pots sticker from Costco is 10 times better. For our meals we got the Caesar salad which was dressed appropriately, but lacking that flavorful punch you normally get with a Caesar salad. We also got the apple chopped salad which was probably the best thing we ordered all night. The goat cheese was delicious paired with the apples. For the main course we ordered the steak frites medium rare. Thie steak unfortunately was very chewy. We also ordered the lamb chops. This was a disaster. They only give you 2 lamb chops. They would retort by saying they were double cut. However these were no way near what you would get at a a nice steak house. Definitely not worth the price. All in all I think Lindeys is thriving on past reputation. The food just doesnt compare to the newer fine dining restaurants in the Columbus area.
I don’t typically do this because I have the best experiences when I go out to eat but I will say this morning at brunch at Lindeys has been one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. It started with making a reservation for 8 people 3 months ago and they sat us at a table for 6 people and added 2 chairs and we were elbow to elbow. I asked the manager if we could just move a covid divider and put two tables together and he said “we don’t combine tables” but then proceeds to ask me if we want to combine the tables in the bar area?? We end up sitting there but I’m not sure why we could combine those and not any others? It’s also dead inside. These tables were empty the entire time. Our server was incredibly rude and we watched her roll her eyes multiple times and heard her talking about our table. We spent almost 700 dollars as a table of 8. This has nothing to do with covid, we went to Smith & Wollensky the night before and had amazing service from a servers first night on the floor. As someone who’s been in and out of the service industry for 10 years, the lack of professionalism was disgusting.
Really quite amazing dinner we had here tonight. We ordered the tournedos of beef, the Duroc pork, a Caesar salad and of course dessert! The pork was actually my favorite, I had expected it to be the beef. I dont think Ive ever had pork quite as delicious as the Duroc pork! The potatoes were perfection as well and everything was complimented by the gojuchang glaze. A wonderful mix of flavors. The beef was really amazing as well, ours was cooked perfectly medium. Lastly our desserts were heavenly. I think the desserts speak for themselves. A lovely experience for us and we will be back! ☺️
This is a mixed review - read more to find out. My fiancé and I stopped in for a late dinner. We split a Caesar salad, lobster bisque, tournedos of beef, and key limepie as dessert. Service was top notch, food was above average, and the place itself is warm and inviting. However, we both got terribly ill in the middle of the night. My fiancé in particular had vomiting fits from food poisoning that lasted 12 hours.
Had a delicious dinner here for our last night in Columbus. I ordered a pomegranate mule, which was so good I ordered another! For my entree, I opted for Australian Sea Bass which was pretty good. I will admit I envied my husbands choice if steak fritters, as it was most delicious as was the sauce that accompanied it. Our table was a bit too close to the hostess station for comfort, but otherwise a very nice atmosphere for dinner.
The food was good as always but the chairs at the high top tables adjacent to the bar were very slippery and difficult to stay on. The worst part was being infirmed if you had to use the bathroom they made you walk from the patio out to the street all the way down to the front door and then through the inside restaurant to the bathroom and then back the same route to the patio.
Went for Mother’s Day, one person ordered Lindsey’s eggs Benedict which come with red potatoes, the other orders a crab cake eggs Benedict with hashbrowns. This is how they are on the menu not a substitution. When the food comes out they are clearly the exact same potatoes out of the same tub with different seasonings on them. At $20 bucks a plate disappointing that ownership decides to call it hashbrowns and can’t take the extra 30 seconds to finish chopping up the potatoes. I confronted the waiter, he replied that is how we do hashbrowns. 100 out of 100 people know those aren’t hashbrowns.
Had a wonderful birthday dinner complete with a candle in my chocolate torte. Our server was awesome and is the first person weve come across while dining in the Columbus area to be knowledgeable about wine. Its the details that mean so much. Our food was delicious and I always love the atmosphere (we sat outside). Will definitely be back.
Lindeys would have been a 5!!! The lobster bisque (not pictured) because it was so amazing that i forgot to get a picture before i ate. The vegetables were cooked to perfection and paired perfectly with the salmon. The salmon was cooked to medium ans had a nice texture. The reason i couldnt give 5 stars was because the salmon only had flavor when i ate it with the veggies. Alone it was very flavorless. Overall. I love lindeys food
I’m so excited I finally got a chance to have dinner at Lindey’s. I’ve heard so many good things about the food and now I know why. The patio space is beautiful and we would have sat outside if it wasn’t so hot. The food was delicious. I got the duroc pork chops and I highly recommend it. For dessert I was debating between the chocolate torte and the Lindey’s post mortem and I went with the torte. It was a chocolatey masterpiece. Luckily I was able to try a bite of the post mortem and it was also delicious. The service was phenomenal and our waitress was friendly and on top of this from beginning to end. Thank you Lindey’s crew for making my first experience a memorable one. I look forward to returning to try other menu items.
AJ was a fabulous server! He took his time and made sure we had everything we needed. He also described the dishes and was very personable. The food was outstanding! Definitely stop by and check this gem out. I would recommend it for a romantic dinner or quality family time. Beautiful.
After 4 years, finally got a chance to visit Lindeys. I had high hopes, but was left disappointed. The ambience is good, free vallet parking was helpful. But the service and food were not upto the mark. I wont say that anything was bad, but I had higher expectations from a place like this.
Lindey’s is an upscale choice that won’t disappoint. Our server was down to earth, professional and courteous. Our food was absolutely delicious. We had pot stickers for an app, lamb and shrimp & lobster risotto for entrees, and then we wrapped it with the Lindey’s post mortem for dessert. Everything was 10/10. Valet parking is complimentary as well as coat check.
This was our final stop for the evening. We went there for a nightcap to the outside bar and have a blast! Ian was working the bar and he was funny, quick, and served up some amazing drinks. The setting was perfect, the bar was beautiful. Our crew will be back for sure!
Came here on a Saturday for brunch. The restaurant opened at 11AM and there was a line to get in. Fortunately we had a reservation and had let them know it was our anniversary. They offer complimentary valet parking service (although we’d noticed this after we parked about a block away). The atmosphere was great and the service was good. The chicken and waffles was amazing. A burst of all flavors spicy, sweet, salty, fried, yumminess. The Lindey’s eggs were very flavorful as well. The rosemary potatoes had an excellent spicy finish.Very pleased with our experience here. Would eat here again and would recommend it.
Good food and excellent service. Also nice interior. However I was disappointed they were out of the beer I ordered so I cant give five stars. Especially given the upscale nature. I was one of the first people to arrive that evening so they must have been out for a while - how hard would it be sending someone over to Kroger and restock another 6 bottles? Or cross it off the menu if they wont have it anymore permanently?
Beautiful stone building on the corner of the cobble stone streets in German Village. Walking into a happy welcome from one of the hostess, the tone down lighting gives a nice since of security. We had a reservation so it was a bit easier to be seated. Well knowledged waitress, pretty sure she could have convinced me to eat the wine cork they way she described the menu. Great ambiance for couples and decor that just keeps the eyes moving. Definanty will send anyone here even if its just to check out happy hour
I always have the best service here. This restaurant is truly stellar. The staff, food, drink selection and service are just excellent. Parking is so easy with the complementary valet, which is definitely a perk in German Village. The patio in the summer is a great gathering spot. They also have a great happy hour from 4:30 to 6:30. Half off wine, signature drinks and the bar menu. Ill never get tired of this place.
What a memorable night on their beautiful patio! We started with the carpaccio which was short salt a bit but had an aioli that was delish. The bread was classic and good. The branzino fish was excellent sides ok the beef tournedos were good the chive mashed potatoes were amazing!! Crime brûlée was good sugar crust a tad too thick. The recommended Stony Hill Cabernet was a let down- bottle didn’t have much life left at all. Wouldn’t have wanted to dine inside especially in front room was super loud- other rooms seemed better but patio was magical!
Lindeys is one of my favorite restaurants in town. I get lamb chops here everytime. And my complaint is the quantity of meat in lamb chops is like next to nothing. Please lindeys if you are reading this review then increase the quantity of meat. Also yesterday i had to wait for my Margarita for 10-15 mins after everyone got their drink. And there was no Don Julio tequila. Still i like lindeys but for yesterdays dinner I will give 2 stars.
Absolute Sunday noon delight. The first place I would recommend when dining in Columbus. From the knowledgeable, courteous service to the delicious art that comes out of the kitchen. This is a special vibe tucked into a cozy German neighborhood. Thank you Maxwell Avon for the original, delectable brunch creations.
Went to Lindeys for dinner last night for my wifes birthday and it was amazing. In the past when weve gone weve had to sit at the bar since we didnt have reservations, this time we planned ahead. Table was comfortable and nice. Dinning room was clean and the tables were spaced out where possible. The food...oh the food. It was the best food weve had since the last time we were in Lindeys. Definitely one of the best places in Columbus and probably my favorite restaurant, full stop. Go for dinner and then stroll around German Village and relax.
One of the BEST restaurants I have ever been too!So let’s start they have valet Which is a must in the winter time in Ohio. I love the fact that they had white tablecloth’s which introduces fine dining experience and what tops at office the fresh flowers and the candlelight dinners my waitress Desiree did not disappoint not only was she efficient but she made sure to continuously make sure we had everything that we needed that night the drinks are amazing and my favorite is the angel hair pasta the ambience is great only thing I wish is that we had louder music people tend to talk loud on the weekends lol I will definitely be back because of how great it felt to finally be somewhere that gets The meaning of fine dining
Food was good.Atmosphere was good. But service was pretty bad.We went to the patio side, had one table open but no ones there so we could grab the table. Waited forever for the server to come and give us the menu. We called a couple servers there, one guy couldnt careless about us and didnt want to help, we waved he saw us but tried to ignore until we really called him, really? Waited for a while to give us water, by a young lady with glasses, seemed like shes the only one who care about us!Waited forever to get menu, order food and coffee. Waited another almost 20mins to get the coffee! We didnt see our waiter AT ALL! Only when he took our order and checked the food. He walked everywhere but skip our table. They had really bad service, they have a lot of waiters/waitresses, but lack of take care of customers. No wonder why the table was open, definitely a group of 4ppl who got the table gave up for their food and left, and the waiter didnt notice or care!My french toast was good but pricey. One piece of toast, sprinkle of strawberries and bacon, $13.Food was good Im not saying this bad at all but, yeah pricey. I think it worth $7-8.5 a piece.Good experience but wont be back unless we want to waste our time.
4 of us went for apps and wine. Tartare was fantastic. Lobster bisque was delicious. We all decided that instead of the appetizers we would share the Australian sea bass and the Risotto (with shrimp and lobster) ... both were so delicious. Will definitely visit again when in German village.
The food was outstanding and the restaurant was beautiful. It is not a place to go and eat cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for. It is great to celebrate a special event. The service was wonderful also, the server was never hovering or overbearing, but was always there when needed. The appetizer was delicious, the soup was perfect, the main course was cooked to perfection, and then the dessert blew my mind! Definitely check this place out.
My family and I had one of the best dining experiences in a long time. The staff is attentive,Quality of food is phenomenal /From the appetizers to the salads to the main courses. Glad to see successful businesses that stillPut their customers first with quality and serviceOld school at its best
My wife and I have celebrated our anniversary here on several occasions, once inside and twice on the patio. The food and wine has always been fantastic. We also appreciate that you can go all out on a fine dining experience or simply enjoy delicious burgers and drinks depending on the occasion/budget. Service has always been top notch.
The food was great but the hostess wasnt the mostest. We spent a lot of money in there $49 for a Filet and $34. for the Salmon plus wine, liquor & dessert. There were only a few people in the dining area and I told the hostess it was our Anniversary and I wanted to make it special. But, she didnt care. It was only 3:00. I watched that only a few people were seated in the dining area while we ate in the bar. Our server left before we were done eating to go to the basement and mix Beignets. The saving grace was the bartender Payton was very cordial and congenial. Payton came over and ordered our desert. I sat there waiting for my dessert it took longer than I thought it would. I paid for everything and left. I would have given more stars if the hostess was friendly she never even smiled or tried to accommodate my husband and I.
(Sorry Lindeys staff)To be perfectly honest. The food is amazing, the service is some of the best you will get in Columbus also. However living on the adjacent street to Lindeys is a nightmare. Street parking for the actual residents is never available from the time the restaurant opens, till close. The restaurant is booked solid (and has been for years), profits have to be great.Buy and build a parking lot please.
The food was typical of a steak house. The place is very nice and would highly recommend. The only downside is we were not provided silverware unitl our food came out, which we had to wait a couple minutes. It was probably just an off night, but still unusual and unfortunate.
Food was awesome!! Went here for a work event, we were up stairs it was small and cute. Food was buffet style - salad, mashed potatoes, chicken, shrimp with noodles, steak with some sauce, and mushrooms soup. Salad was good, potatos were awesome, steak was fantastic a little rare for me but I still ate it, the sauce wasnt so good on it glad i put it on the side, the soup was to sweet. We also got baby macaroons, brownies, chocolate chip cookies and chocolate covered strawberries. What they gave us seemed to be a very small amount for how large our group was but it was good. They also didnt really seem like they wanted to give us extra plates to go get some more food once we ate the first plate. But they finally brought out like 5 more plates.
We often go to Lindey’s for special occasion dinners. We went here recently for our wedding anniversary and let’s just say it was one of the worse experiences we ever had. Our reservation was around 9pm and I called ahead to ask the restaurant if it’s still ok for us to come in at that time. I was told that last order is till 10pm so we should be fine. From the minute we sat down, our waitress was extremely rude to us. She handed the menu and told us that we have 1 minute to look over it. Constantly feeling rushed and she questioned our choices from the menu. I even went to the back and asked her to be nice to us since it was a special day for us. My wife’s food was undercooked and poorly made. When we brought that to our waitress’s attention she didn’t seem to care. Overall it was a very poor service. I recommend only going here if you can get a reservation before 8pm, because after that you will be rushed.
Went to Lindey’s for Sunday brunch. The buratta was outstanding with deliciously ripe tomatoes. The chopped salad with chicken had just the right balance of tartness and crunchiness. The coffee was amazing. Chad was our waiter, and he was attentive, prompt, and a real pleasure to chat with.
We had one of the private rooms for about 10 people. Even with such a large group with y demands and requests, our server was fantastic and friendly. The food was really great and flavorful and the presentation was on point.Would love to come back with just my husband for a date night. We had the steak frites, and linguini and were not disappointed at all.
Fell in love with the restaurant immediately upon entering after attending a wedding. I love the tablecloths ambience and the hospitality and outstanding service staff. I will come again the next time I’m in Columbus. Was celebrating our daughter‘s wedding. O BTW…the food is delish!
We went to dinner for my daughters birthday. From the moment we pulled up to the curb, we were greeted with smiles. And the same as we entered the restaurant. Service was extraordinary, and so was the food. Everything was absolutely perfect. Lobster bisque, house salad, calamari, angel hair pasta with shrimp and a light cream sauce, shrimp & lobster risotto, rotisserie chicken with the best mashed potatoes, key lime pie and creme brulee. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious!
I was very excited to eat at Lindey’s as I haven’t eaten there in years. I was highly disappointed. I ordered the shrimp and lobster risotto. When I received the food it was room temperature. Yuck! I asked for another plate and it was barely lukewarm. Yuck again! I ate what I could tolerate (the whole dish was bad), and paid and was disappointed with the experience.
Nice atmosphere, we sat on the patio on a beautiful day. food was good, prices high but we were paying for the location. had plenty of servers, very attentive. one thing: the fire exits from the inside were locked and blocked. we had to walk around the building to go to the restrooms, very inconvenient. also illegal to lock fire exits.
Beautiful restaurant filled with eclectic collection of artwork, antique chandeliers, and a nice mix of tables, booths, and banquette seating areas, as well as an inviting patio for al fresco dining. Top notch service and delicious food, make Lindys a great choice. Lump crab salad and the calamari with shrimp appetizer were exceptionally good today.
Let me first say that the food was excellent hands down. The reason for the 3 stars is we arrived for our reservation and the hostess was no where to be found. Multiple wait staff walked by but said nothing. 5 mins later the the hostess made her way to the podium and seated us. Once seated service good then when it was time for the food to come out things slowed down to a snails pace. The we ordered dessert which never came so we got it to go and it took 20 mins to bring it out after that. I love the classy but relaxed environment. Service needs a bit of work but good food.
It was a very nice experience. The patio is cozy and quiet. Food was great. I had calamari and shrimp appetizer and a pasta entree. They were both delicious. Service was great and professional. All servers were properly using face mask. All doors leading to restroom can be opened by foot and restrooms are all touchless. Very nice place. Not cheap anyway, but plates are not small.
The food tasted ok. Reason for 2 stars was because the rotisserie chicken was raw and we returned it, we didnt want it back or another plate it was just red and they brought it back to us like in the picture which was nasty and classless. They added a full order of mashed potatoes hahaha. First and last time here.
This place was amazing! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who has been considering trying it. We ordered the hummus appetizer, French onion soup, steak, chicken, and lastly the bread pudding. The hummus was different but very good. The French onion soup was the best I’ve ever had, it’s the one thing you HAVE to try if you go. The steak and chicken were just as good. The steak melted in your mouth and the chicken was moist and crispy on the outside. The bread pudding was moist and flavorful! I knocked off a star because the drinks were mediocre. They were okay but I’ve had much better at restaurants that would sell the same thing for half the cost. Overall experience was an amazing one. Highly highly recommend this place!
I believe that a little bit longer review of this gorgeous family owned establishment is in order. Our hostess and server started off our evening with a warm greeting and personal conversation. And absolutely enjoyable young lady who made my 10 year old daughter feel excited to be there for her birthday.Everything was served quickly comment and neatly. Presentation was absolutely top notch, not to mention the quality. Some imaginative appetizers and articulated salads Started off our meal on the right foot.We had 2 orders of the fillet, and one salmon. The fillet was easily 1 of the best steaks Ive ever had in my life. Our dessert was to go, and made an excellent breakfast :)I would absolutely recommend this spot for their fine dining, excellent atmosphere, good steaks, lovely wines, and amazing staff
Lindeys is the premiere place for fine dining. Located right in the center of German Village, this restaurant is the best place for celebratory dinner with your special someone. My wife and I love this place and often times pick it for our anniversary dinner. Great cocktails and fairly priced luxury dinners. Recommend to every person looking for a great dining experience in Columbus. PS - They even have complimentary valet in a very busy neighborhood!
This place has a Manhattan vibe to me. Very classy and the servers are very knowledgeable about the menu. We love coming here for special occasions. They don’t short you on portion size either. The prices match the service and food!! Excellent job guys!! We’ll be back !!
I used to live in German village, It is Historically the place to visit and walk around . Lindeys has always been the spot for atmosphere and great choice of food. The staff there is wonderful. Valet parking makes it the easiest way to park. I go back periodically over the years and I have never been disappointed.
If you want a great fine dining experience, you cant really go wrong with Lindeys. There seems to be an attitude among the staff that there is a right way to do fine dining whereas other modern restaurants have become too casual. The Tuna tartare is devine, as is the lamb chops. Recently ordered a rare Filet and I wasnt disappointed to say the least.
The food was good but the service is the worst I’ve seen in upscale restaurants. We came around 12:30, had a party of 4, was told we will wait about 30-40mins which is fine since it was Saturday brunch time. Around the 40 minute time someone calls us and says “hey we have two separate tables if your parties want to set a part across the restaurant. If not will have to wait for a table of four “ ….and they couldn’t give us a time. At that time I went in and told them what is going on why would they think we will sit apart as a family. I asked the receptionist why we couldn’t be seated because I saw many open tables mind you …when we first got there we were told they don’t do weekend reservation. She told me there was reservations for other people then we saw people walk in and out for another 15 minutes sitting down together as families as friends so on so forth. moments later we decided to look for other restaurants in the area and we were talking as a family trying to figure out where we should go eat. Then the reception comes up to us, now magically we can sit at those tables were all open in the back. We waited 10 to 15 minutes no one came to us no one gave us an introduction who The waiter will be. Another family sat next to us party of four as well. Then I see the waitress come over give them water …introduce themselves and take their appetizer. Then she came to us gave us menus, gave us water and seemedlike she didn’t want (name was Meghn) to even talk to us. I honestly hate saying this but it seemed like she was not happy that we were there and it seem like she didn’t like the fact that we were ethnic. The whole experience was terrible for me because of these encounters. I’ll probably never go back because I felt like second-class citizen and the food is the only good thing but it’s not worth the service that we got and I rather spend my money somewhere else where people are friendly and appreciative and don’t treat people based on how they look on the outside!
It was our 18th anniversary and Lindeys is one of our favorites. We even had our rehearsal dinner there. We had a great brunch including lobster bisque and calamari for my wife and I had the eggs Lindeys which is basically a take on eggs Benedict but using filet mignon medallions and a spicy hollandaise. We finished our meal with beignes. Great experience and wonderful food.
This place was awesome! White table cloths, very professional, top notch, excellent customer service...the food is ...cant think of the words... magnificent, super delicious...if you looking for a great experience..out of the norm...I would definitely recommend here. BTW I ordered a smoked salmon omlette with spinach and provolone cheese and fruit in the side...best omlette ever!! Try it!
We had a wonderful evening on the upper patio and enjoyed a fabulous meal. Our server, Eric was great! The lobster bisque was amazing. Several folks had told us good things about the restaurant, they were right! This place is amazing. The atmosphere is great (sit outside), the food was amazing.
Due to majority of our party being immunocompromised, we made a reservation with a request for outdoor dining. When we arrived, the hostess told us that patio dining wasnt guaranteed but rather first come, first serve. Honestly, if they had communicated that to us earlier, we would have arrived earlier or picked another restaurant that accepted reservations for outdoor dining. They told us that it would be a 30-45 minute wait for patio seating and the tables by the bar were reserved for dining guests only. After waiting at least 30 minutes, we were finally seated at Lindeys Restaurant & Bar, an intimate fine dining restaurant that serves an American fare in German Village. Shortly after being seated, we were given a bread basket of sourdough and crispy crackers with rosemary and cheese. For drinks, Id recommend the Frozen Peach Bellini and Strawberry Hibiscus, both of which were light, sweet, fruity, and refreshing. The Frozen Peach Bellini consisted of pinot grigio, peach schnapps, peach puree, and cava blended with ice and garnished with a maraschino cherry. The Strawberry Hibiscus Mule consisted of watershed vodka, strawberry hibiscus syrup, lime juice, and Barritts non-alcoholic ginger beer shaken, served over the rocks in a regular glass, and garnished with a lime wedge. For appetizers, we shared Tartare and Carpaccio with modifications due to food sensitivity and allergies. The Tartare consisted of greens, diced ahi tuna, topped with creme fraiche, wasabi, and gaufrette potato. We asked for the wasabi on the side but got the ginger soy vinaigrette on the side instead. Carpaccio consisted of raw thinly sliced eye of round beef topped with arugula, watermelon radish, capers, and parmesan reggiano cheese with the cider mustard vinaigrette and Chipotle aioli on the side. Despite liking steak tartare, I felt like the beef was a bit too raw to my liking but I enjoyed dipping the watermelon radish into the cider mustard vinaigrette. Before dinner, I enjoyed their Caesar Salad, which consisted of fresh romaine lettuce tossed in a Caesar dressing and garnished with ciabatta croutons and parmesan reggiano cheese. I regretted not adding white anchovies to the salad. For dinner, we enjoyed the Bronzini, Lamb, Halibut, and Linguine with Shrimp. The server mixed up the two Linguine with Shrimp so the guest who had pepper sensitivity received the extra spicy one and the guest with no pepper sensitivity received the mild one. The Lamb consisted of four rosemary marinated Australian lamb chops served over gouda mashed potatoes in a red wine and rosemary lamb jus, and garnished with crispy onion straws. I liked how the lamb chops were tender and juicy. However, I felt like there was too much rosemary in the dish and it would have tasted better with a red wine and lamb jus.For dessert, we shared a Creme Brulee, which consisted of vanilla bean custard topped with caramelized sugar, whipped cream, and mixed berries. It was light and enjoyable when shared amongst ourselves. Ill admit that some of the after dinner drinks such as Winter in NOLA, Irish Coffee, and Royal Tea sounded interesting.
I took my parents here while they were visiting from Arizona. The food was great, the only reason for the 4 star was a mixup on the drop off of food where I had ordered a medium rare steak and my dad ordered medium. I would also say that the food presentation was 3-4 star. For the price you pay, you can find more artistic food presentation.
First time eating at Lindeys, and had a great time. Service was great, food was delicious... I would definitely recommend to anyone planning a date or a celebration.COVID: Restaurant and staff had COVID measures in place (masks and dividers between dining parties). Didnt interfere with our dinner, and made us feel more comfortable dining out.
Lovely winter day for outside dining. The servers were very nice but not at all trained in how to feed a vegan guest. The menu is the most unfriendly selection of meat and dairy based foods in town. Not a mention of alternatives or even which items could be changed. So, I enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea on a very Covid friendly patio.
Went here for our wedding anniversary tonight. Food and wine were good but service was very, very poor. They were very short staffed and the waiter was very monotoned, unenthusiastic, and borderline rude. We were there for almost 2 hours, a large majority of the time was spent waiting to order, get our checks, etc. Was a disappointing way to spend our anniversary.
I took my mom and my lovely daughter there for brunch today. First time I’ve ever been in place. It was beautiful setting with all the flowers in the fountain outside. The food was very much worth every cent . I was very impressed with the hospitality friendliness of everyone. The service was outstanding. Definitely will be back what a beautiful day what a great time. Great place to take my mom who came up here from Daytona for the weekend
Recently ordered a large curbside order and was greeted almost immediately as I parked. Staff was extremely friendly and included everything we needed to enjoy our meal. Food was served hot and packaged well for transport (meats or other items were separated as well) Food was amazing as always and left us full and very satisfied. Cant wait to go back.
Wonderful 1st wedding anniversary experience. They treated us very well and the food was lovely. Omg the steak turnadoes, the bearnaise sauce was unbelievably delicious! The steak was cooked perfectly, drinks were awesome. HIGHLY recommended, we may go back for the bearnaise sauce for the steak!!
Old dining charm and grace! Excellent customer service and excellent steak dinner! Fine dining that won’t completely obliterate your bank account but is definitely one of the most refined parts about German village and why we love this neighborhood. The building itself is a beauty to behold. Front or back of the house seating you will be treated with respect and kindness. patience was appreciated as I was not sure of my drink order and he came back a few times to help me decide. Not a detail I overlook and was much appreciated.
Our visit to Lindeys was nothing short of amazing. The menu offers a wide variety of taste options and a lovely selection of wines. Our service was prompt and very personable. What we enjoyed most was the care that was put in to making a delicious meal in lieu of my allergy. The wait staff and chef were dillegent in making sure the food was safe, and even prepared an alternative sauce for my selection (which was quite exceptional, might I add). The meals were both served hot, and had very fresh, creative, and delightful flavors. The atmosphere is attractive and cozy, while also upscale and unique. We highly recommend that if you are trying to decide, hands down pick Lindeys. We will indeed return, time and again.
Lindys has been recommended to us twice by different sets of friends. It is an upscale restaurant with charm, excellent service and wonderful food. They know how to do everything right and offer a wonderful formal dining experience. I absolutely understand why Lindys receives rave reviews! This is another one of those reviews. Absolutely loved eating here!
Amazing food. The service was a little slow at the beginning so they gave us two free appetizers. Had lunch here after a funeral and had the aptly-named post mortem dessert. Would highly recommend. Also the torchio is great for vegetarians, but probably not the place for vegans.
Excellent service, decor and cuisine. Our first time dining here and I will definitely return on any given day. Social distancing and safe dining was paramount but not distracting. For appetizer I had calamari and shrimp, lobster bisque for my soup and crab cakes as my entrée. The flavors were exquisitely delightful and the portions were satisfying!! I enjoyed every bite! The dessert selections were not very impressive but I did partake of the Lindeys Post Morteum (warm brownie with coffee ice cream and fudge topping). Our server Trevor was knowledgeable, very attentive, hospitable and pleasant to interact with.Would highly recommend Lindeys for intimate dining and special occasions (it was my birthday).
Lindy’s catered a wedding reception and did a spectacular job. The steak was delicious and perfectly cooked. Everything about the meal was to perfection and the service was second to none. They did a fabulous job and honored the social distancing and mask requirements. I would highly recommend them for any catered event!
This place has the most gorgeous outside dinning area where it creates such a unique atmosphere. The food is always delicious and always hot and the meat is always cooked to perfection. Service is extremely friendly and the servers are always taking plates out of your way and making sure that you are being taken care of. After eating, taking a walk in the town is perfect and not having to worry about parking as the valet is always there to take care of that as well. Love spending our time here.
I ordered takeout yesterday and was extremely late picking it up. I contacted the staff and they were completely understanding. Once I picked my food up and made it home, I was in Heaven. The rotisserie chicken was amazing. No heavy seasoning. My meal didn’t weigh me down like I ate a bunch of grease. The chicken tasted fresh. The sourdough croutons- I can eat them alone. Anyway, I was very pleased and can’t wait to actually dine in.
Been here for many Holidays and Birthdays but today was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The staff is rude and tired. The table next to me ordered after me and finished their meal before I even mentioned that we hadn’t got our order. The manager completely blew it off and the server just started making excuses about how she hasn’t ate?? WOW. Incredible. Avoid this place and spend your money where they treat paying customers with respect. I was wearing my military bomber jacket to boot. Nice respect towards Veterans. Will never return to their dump. Stinks like bathroom cleaner.
Cozy environment. They went the extra step of placing decor on the tables that arent being used. The specials were a nice surprise. I tasted the halibut with bearnaise sauce. The fish was light smell & fluffy. The asparagus was just ok. (A little thicker stalks than I like & kinda bland, parmesan cheese on it would have been better) The mashed potatoes were perfect. The beef tournedos was tender and juicy. The shrimp on the calamari appetizer was delicious. The bread pudding for dessert comes highly recommended. For 2 meals and dessert $90
Lindseys was hands down one of my favorite place to go to in Columbus. We made a 9pm reservation, got there early to see if patio space was available and Im happy it was. We walking outside to be surrounded by beautiful plants and an amazing atmosphere. Our waiter was extremely helpful and kind, with some fun humor too. The wine was great, our app was delicious and the entrees was phenomenal. Although it sprinkled on us, Lindseys had tables available for us if we wanted to move inside. I am looking forward to walking back for dinner or trying out their happy hour.
The hosts and servers are very nice for the most part. When it comes to recommending what drinks or dinners are good, we just got a bunch of random things with no reason why we should try it. The food itself really is nothing special. I tried the shrimp and lobster risotto, it really did not have much flavor. My wifes clam chowder was thin and somewhat flavorless. To sum it up quickly this is not worth the money you spend.
Took one of my close friends here last night for her birthday and it was one of the best restaurant experiences I have had in a long time! Jessica, I believe, was our server and she was fantastic! Everyone we interacted with was amazing and they took COVID measures seriously. The food and peach bellinis were also delicious. We hope to be back soon!
I was kind of disappointed in my meal. Very overpriced for charred lamb, very greasy potato strings, and strange crab cake combination. The calamari/shrimp was good. But then our “jumbo” lump crab cake was not so jumbo. Very tiny in fact and we ordered the double portion (which came with a single serving of grits with no sign of shrimp, a very thick aioli that tasted like fat, and a tiny cup of corn salsa. The mashed potatoes unfortunately weren’t my favorite either. Very bland. Maybe it’s the Gouda? The Creme brûlée was very delicious but the serving site was laughable for $9. The key lime pie was okay, but was much more dense than any key lime pie I’ve ever had. I really wanted to like this place and I’ve always wanted to try it. Perhaps it was the takeout that made it not as good but we ate our food right away in the car. Maybe it was an off day? It just felt pretentious with odd food combinations and for the amount I spent, I’m very disappointed and I’m not seeing where the food reviews are tasting that I didn’t get. **I will say the person who brought our food out was very friendly as was the hostess I talked to on the phone.
Service was great as always. I was catching up with an old friend and the waitress was perfectly attentive while also proving us with the space to catch up & not feeling rushed. The Carpaccio was great & the angel hair pasta w/shrimp in a Cajon cream sauce was fantastic! Thanks Lindeys!
My wife and I had a date night here over the weekend. Due to Covid-19, it was our first in over a year.We opted to sit outside on the patio, and tables had plenty of space around them. Our lovely server, Lisa, helped to make the evening really special by just being a lovely person, and very helpful with food choices.Between us we had: a couple of cocktails, beef carpaccio, filet, steak on baguette, key lime pie and chocolate brownie. The key lime pie was out of this world - so much so we returned the following evening to get a couple of pieces as takeout. Its a magical gem in German Village - dont miss out, just go!
I ordered my quarantine-birthday dinner from here, and it was fantastic. I had purchased a bottle of Veuve and read that a good pairing is blue cheese-encrusted steak. So I ordered the Gorgonzola-encrusted filet-medium, mashed potatoes, and asparagus, with key lime pie for dessert.

2022-06-20I had the most wonderful lunch experience here today. First of all the restaurant is absolutely beautiful from the front door to the ceiling. The prices are reasonable and the service is impeccable. My waitress was Em! She went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. I ordered the Calamari and Shrimp($16), The Crispy Spicy Chicken Sandwich w/ Lobster Bisque as the side ($13) and my Dad had the Chef’s Special Risotto with Soft Shell Crab($20). I think the Calamari was the best I have ever had! My sandwich was wonderful and the Lobster Bisque was absolutely perfect! I tried a bite of my dad’s Risotto and I liked it but he wasn’t a huge fan of it. He ended up getting the same sandwich as me. All and all the entire experience was impeccable. Thanks Em for such wonderful service

2022-04-10Came here for brunch and it did not disappoint! This is honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in Columbus. I have never been wowed by a breakfast/brunch and it was so delicious. The food was fresh and plated beautifully. The drinks were strong, and the service was fantastic. I would most definitely come here again. Despite its reputation as a higher end, more costly restaurant, I feel the quality of the food is well worth the price.

2022-05-20Aside from the fact the Lindey’s has one of, if not the best patio in Columbus in my opinion (such a special atmosphere, cute, cozy! Perfect for a date night!) they also have the best risotto I’ve tried in town so far! (And the best lobster bisque ever!!!!!). I’d suggest making a reservation to make sure you get a table outside! It’s a whole other experience!

2022-07-08Food is very tasty and the location is really cute and cozy for a nice dinner or lunch. But I didn’t like few things… service was okay but below the expectations I would say… first time I seen a restaurant in US charge drinks refills like Pepsi 2.50$ each glass at the time I been there. We had a birthday celebration me and my wife and I ask them for a little piece of cake like every other restaurant do for free but was denied and replaced with their Dessert menu at reasonable prices. At the end we asked for an espresso coffe served with no sugar, the server was surprised when I ask for that …and she brought cane sugar instead of the regular that I ask…okay… was not even good but anyway… so far one of the best location, I love German village. Food is good but overpriced and the service is average. Not a place where I would go often.

2022-06-18First time dining. Patio was fantastic. Wait staff was okay. Food was decent, had the chicken which was good, a bit hard to eat. Broccolini was great. Burger was good but no pink on medium rare. Bread pudding was good but more of an apple pie than a pudding. Overall good meal but nothing special. Street parking or valet.

2022-03-07We went for supper on New Year’s Eve. We very much enjoyed ourselves. It’s a gorgeous building. We were seated immediately. The woman that took care of us, I regret that I took so long to write this review as I cannot remember her name. She was hospitable, attentive but not overbearing, knowledgeable of the items on the menu, and patient. The food was beautiful and delicious. We look forward to visiting again.

2022-02-27Shrimp with pasta in a hot mild sauce and scallops. And an amazing cup of French onion soup. OMG you must eat here and then head to the book house around the corner to walk off dinner. This food was amazing, first class, I will return when back in town.

2022-03-21Really love this place the atmosphere is great the food is good but extremely salty. The drinks were mediocre to say the least. I ordered a spicy margarita but received a watered down lemon juice drink. There was no salted spicy rim no jalapeño to be found near the drink and it was extremely sweet. The drink was made with gin not tequila. I sent the drink back and was given a muddled super super sweet version of what I just had. It was terrible! The server was phenomenal and I would like to highlight that. But overall my experience here has yet to change. This was not the first time I’ve had issues with the saltiness of the food and poor drink mixtures. Unfortunately I won’t be returning here for a long while I really hope some things change at this place because it’s such a cool vibe.

2021-12-20Cant give this place enough stars. Impeccable service and food everytime. Theres a reason its always packed. Celebrated my birthday here and had the best slice of key lime pie Ive ever had and Ive had my fair share in Florida. Also of note is the beef carpaccio, lobster bisque, lobster risotto, beef tournedo and shrimp angel hair pasta. Im sure you cant go wrong with anything on the menu though.😋

2022-02-12Very nice place to eat. Our waiter was excellent and went above and beyond for my wife and I. We were celebrating our anniversary and we’re given a candle lit dinner as well as a complementary dessert that was excellent. There was complementary valet with great service. I had ordered my food vegetarian and when I received it, there was shrimp in my dish. After I told the waiter, he apologized and I received a new fresh order of food and was not charged for it. The atmosphere was great and all the staff was very attentive and friendly. My food was excellent and the in house freshly made noodles were amazing. I would definitely recommend to anyone.
