I went to Lifelong Bodywork for an injury. I was having some nagging pain due to tendinitis. I received Functional Massotherapy from Alexander. My sessions with him were incredible. He worked to ease my pain, and helped me to understand the root of the issue. From looking at the injury itself, how it happened, and the circumstances in my life that led to this injury. He went through this process with me during our sessions while also giving me the tools to continue this work for myself. Alex has helped me tremendously and Im grateful for my time with him at Lifelong Bodywork!
Alexander listens to his client’s needs and spends ample time addressing the problem areas. His willingness and eagerness for the client to leave his office feeling diminished pain is noteworthy. His demeanor is pleasant and he is receptive to feedback. His techniques are well-practiced and executed. You will not be disappointed.
I can honestly say it was the best healing massage I had ever experienced. Alexander was not put off by me being a few minutes tardy at all in fact he immediately made me feel good about everything and at ease with a very laid-back positive but ever present dutiful attitude. A man who truly loves what he does. I can relate What he does to what I can only describe as Self care alchemy. He takes your injuries and makes them comforts. He allows any negative thoughts expressions or attitudes to take their natural turn into positivity throughout the session. He is very quick to inform you of ailments you may not be aware of. once he starts working on them they are magically Reflected back at you as anything from a positive mental outlook and ease of the body that you did not expect to get relief from as a pleasant surprise all the way down to relief from pain you have learned to ignore . He also works specifically on what you ask him to and takes direction very well. A true professional.
This is my go to for bodywork of this kind! As a doctor of chiropractic myself, I know how important self care is! They are always willing to listen and help in any way they can with the most friendly of demeanor! I highly recommend visiting lifelong body work for all your massage needs!
There is no one at the caliber of Alex Van Ness. He is simply amazing. In one session, he was able to release years of shoulder pain that unwound over the course of a week throughout other areas of my body with chronic pain. I see him regularly to keep my body tuned for longevity. His knowledge of anatomy and intuition combine for the highest level of bodywork. I refer my medical massage and chronic pain clients to Alex with confidence. He’s a rare find in the world of bodyworkers - smart, caring and wise.
I started getting massage therapy from Alexander after a car accident a few years ago and he definitely has alot of knowledge on releasing nasty knots. It’s always a clean setting I would definitely recommend Alexander for anyone needing a therapeutic massage

My massage experience was wonderful. Deleen does beautiful work. My sister-in-law visits her twice a month and the massages help her so much mentally and physically, and so she bought me a gift certificate. I felt so relaxed but aware--like a beautiful dream. Deleen worked out all the trouble in my body/mind. The darkness and the gentle music and rhythm of the touch combined to create a truly consciousness-altering experience. I wish I could go twice a month, but I will be back, and I will recommend her to friends.

2022-02-18First, let me start off by saying it was a lovely and peaceful office. Additionally, my practitioner, Alexander Van Ness, was very attentive, kind, and thorough with his work.Ive had tension headaches essentially my whole life, and Ive tried everything - stretching, yoga, rolling mats, chiropractors, massages, medicine. I recently pulled a muscle in my back and after a month of it flaring up, I decided I should get it checked out. By the end of the session, I could move my arm freely without any twinging or spasms. Even better than that, my back hasnt bothered me since going, and unexpectedly, my headaches have diminished too, thanks to Alexander.Lifelong Bodywork is now my go-to place for any kind of massotherapy work I need done. Highly recommend. 10/10

2021-09-09I was experiencing terrible neck tension and lower back pain. I sought out a provider that could provide deep, therapeutic massage. I have visited Alexander 3 times for therapeutic massage and I am completely free of pain. Before going I was having difficulty sleeping due to my pain, and my muscle tension was impeding my range of motion. I am feeling so much better! I highly recommend him!

2021-07-10I have been to Alexander twice. And both times I left feeling amazing. The experience is truly a therapeutic experience both mentally and physically. I left feeling life my physical limitations do not define who I am or what I can do. My mobility improved by about 10% during my first visit. I will always go back to Alex. This is not a typical massage I actually felt relief. Thank you for what you do coach!!!!

2021-05-05I have been seeing Alex for a few years now. Alex has helped me with injuries from car accidents to prenatal care to just needing a relaxing massage. He is very knowledgeable in what he does. He explains everything in detail of what hes going to do and how it helps. He also talks to you so you can understand. The office is always clean and ready. Each room is set up nicely. I am always greeted with kindness and Alex always listens tentatively about my problem areas needing addressed. By the end of my appointment I know everything that was done and how to further take care of my injuries and I don’t fear the bill at the end. Each visit is well worth the price.

2021-05-19I’ve been having pretty bad pain in my shoulder and neck muscles for a little while now, and as a musician it was deeply concerning. Booked with Lifelong and the work they did was incredible. Booked with Alexander and and the treatment was outstanding. Asked how I got my injury while working and was able to get to the source of the problem very quickly and was able to coach me on different excersizes and treatment options to look into. I didn’t realize I had a habit of not breathing whenever I would tense up my muscles until he pointed it out. Just got done with the second appointment and I feel so much better than I did before I walked in. Will definitely be coming back if I ever get injured, he is absolutely worth the trip.

2021-05-04What can I say, besides AMAZING!Ive been working with Alex for several years. Hes the only massage therapist that does cranial sacrum massage. Because of this, Ive been able to function outside of the hospital. If you have different disabilities. I highly recommend you go see him.

2021-05-14I have been visiting AVN Massotherapy with Alexander for about a year now. I have had about a dozen appointments. Today was the first time I tried their new service, Functional Massotherapy. This service provides a much more in-depth evaluation and treatment of your current pains/issues than the standard Therapeutic Massage .My injury was severe shoulder tendonitis that has caused me to lose strength and mobility over the years. In this treatment, Alexander started off by asking about current movements and activities that have been hindered due to the injury. This way he can understand what specifically needs worked on and improved. For the rest of the 45-50 minutes, we worked on the specific muscle grouping that was causing me issues. This work was not performed with me solely laying on the table. I was sitting the majority of the time while movements were tested and actively worked on through massage gun, pressure point, and muscle manipulation work.I will absolutely be utilizing this service again. This is not like your normal relaxing/therapeutic massage. This is a tailored treatment to solve injuries or issues that someone is living with. I have had shoulder issues the last 8 years and Alexander has played an enormous role in getting me back to where I want to be. He is extremely passionate and professional with his work and would recommend him to anyone. Absolutely worth the time and money.

2021-05-05I have met with Alex for both full body and therapeutic massages. In one session, he resolved a chronic numbness in my upper thigh that was associated with lower back pain. The studio is immaculately clean and the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. Alex is the best! I am a repeat client.
