This is probably the most personal review I have ever wrote. That being said, I have never had a more enjoyable restaurant experience. The owner and staff are beyond kind and accommodating. They took the timeto thank us for coming and told us about themselves and how they came up with the name of the restaurant. The food was also spectacular, excellent Kurdish taste. It’s hard to choose a favorite but I really enjoyed their cabbage rolls, falafel, labneh and hummus. Their turkish tea and baklava is also noteworthy. I plan to be a regular here and continue to support this establishment in any way that I can. Their hospitality is a rarity.
Delicious, flavorful, fresh food + attentive, gracious, kind service. …. My family and I had dinner here tonight and walked away completely ‘wowed.’ While any of the pictures on these reviews will show you how authentic and mouth-watering the food is, I’m here to also comment on the service. All the servers were so friendly and gracious, even to their littlest customers (ie, our children), and paid attention to every detail to ensure we enjoyed the meal and our dinner together as a family. One server even asked and remembered the names of our children, and spoke to them by name. The owner/chef visited us several times to talk about the food. A++. 10/10 would recommend. Can’t wait to go back!
Finally had a date night here! The food and service were wonderful. Adding pictures to this review.Last review (about 1 year ago):We had takeout tonight, and everything was so delicious! Grape leaves, baba ghanoush and the mixed grill for 2. Can’t wait to have a date night there someday.
Mashallah, we had been in Cincinnati for two days, we got our dinner twice form this place, the story I was searching to have mediterranean restaurants. Then we chosen Leyla restaurant, because their reviews high in google map posted new in months ago. The food posted from customer was very nice, Even 20 miles far from downtown Cincinnati ohio , we choose this restaurant as people enjoyed with their greet review. Everything as we expected in Google , five star surfaces.Their servers and outside dinning area so amazing. All our orders so delicious and organized as well been fresh on time. Please take friends and family to Leyla Mediterranean if you want to show them an excellent dinning experience.
Amazing gem in the middle of a shopping center! Whether indoors at a beautiful table or outside on the patio wrapped in foliage (including real grape vines dripping with grapes), youd never know you were surrounded by parking lot and shoppers. The food is authentic Mediterranean and delicious. Cant recommend it enough. 30 minute drive from our house, but well be back.
Kind servers, cozy outside dinning area, delicious food and drinks. The bread, spiced oil and hummus were the perfect combination to start my Turkish dining experience. The grape leaves were stuffed to perfection. The orkra stew with lamb was filled with chunky veggies and peices of lamb that filled my stomach to maximum enjoyment! I am glad I had just enough room left to enjoy one of their delicious pistachio baklava. It was perfectly crispy and sweet to finish me off with a full smile and stomach. Please take friends and family to Leyla Mediterranean if you want to show them an excellent dinning experience.
Nice ambiance, the food is tasty. Though its described as generically Mediterranean its actually really a good synthesis of Kurdish and Turkish cuisine, with some general other middle eastern and Mediterranean basin fare. The Burak is rather small on size but tasty. The homemade bread with black seeds and spicy oil dipping sauce is a good starter, the rest of the menu had many tasty surprises.
We really enjoyed our meal. Everything was perfectly cooked, the hummus was simple and very smooth. The service was great and though there was a wait, its obvious in the quality of the food that the wait is justified. Our server Yousef was amazingly polite and I ordered a Turkish Coffee Sweet, and it was perfectly sweet. We will definitely go again. Thank you.
I have been their regular customer from last 4-5 years. Their food quality and quantity was real great but now they have more customers they are loosing their quantity and quality. From my last 4 visit, I have experienced significant difference in the food. First I notice they reduced their rice quantity. Baklava dessert wasnt same as it was. Then 2nd time the taste of chicken ajana kebab was not good at all and inordered baklava as well cuz I love it but this time baklava wasnt fresh made. Then 3rd time same ordered same food and baklava, food wasnt good but eatable but baklava was so abdul. Server lady said they made it fresh today but when I had a bite of it, I had to spit it out cuz it taste rotten. Now last night I was there withbmy family and ordered the same chicken ajana kebab and the I was so shocked to see the serving size of rice salad but the most shocking was chicken kebab was not cooked..it was under cooked. Upon complaining the owner said, Ohh we got a new guy but dont worry, it wont happen next time..what? Instead of replcaing my food, he was convincing me? After eating uncooked 1 skewer of kebab, my stomach get upset. They have lost me as a customer and I will not recommend this place any more to any one. They need to progress to bring their quality and customer service back.Pictures are attached so you can see it is not cooked. usually they made on grill and they are light brown or full brown when they cooked.
I love the food and service... The everything that you can try is good... Ps I dont care what anyone says about any kind of fed indictment concerning immigrants is absurd. If they are coming over to carry themselves with professionalism, should be welcomed with open arms. If they would like to cook food like there peers, Im all for it 😂😂😂😂
Had a night without children. Wanted to try something new. All I can say is wow. The food was amazing. I would rank the mixed grill entree as one of the best meals I have had thr pleasure to consume. I will absolutely be back. Wait staff and chef were amazing and the food was very fresh.
Visited twice, once with just my husband and I, and once with both of us and my parents. Everyone loved everything we tried each time. The group tried: Gyro (Doner) Kebab, Baked Eggplant, Falafel Lunch, and the Sembusek entrees. House Bread with Oil, Baklava, and the Kurdish coffee and tea. I recommend everything. The server/host is also very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that they dont seem to have the whole menu available at all times. But thats not the end of the world when everything tastes so good.
Tried LEYLA Mediterranean for the first time today off a recommendation from a friend. We were not disappointed! We got the borek as an appetizer and the lahmacun for lunch. The bread and accompanying sauce were delicious and the other food was as well. Customer service was great. He checked on us often and the food came out quickly. We definitely will go back to try their mixed grill entrees.
Before you do anything try their Ayran (yogurt drink) very beautiful indoor and outdoor seating. Quality food and absolutely friendly staff. We ordered iskender kebab and adana kabob which both where delicious and you could finish your dinner with their fantastic Baklava. Highly recommended.
Leyla Mediterranean definitely deserves the five star rating! The service was outstanding! The surrounding was authentic and took me away to a whole different part of the world. When I arrived the outside presented well and I was welcomed with roses and beautiful flowers as I walked up the walkway and into the door. There was handicapped accessible parking and parking for everyone is fairly easy and close. They have the option of booths or tables and you can remove chairs if you need to for a wheelchair or a high chair. The Establishment does have high chairs if needed. The restaurant was very clean and the tables were covered with cloth tablecloths that are removed after each guest and replace with clean ones. They do have alcohol to sip on if you desire. There are appetizers main entries side dishes and dessert. The Baklava was amazing! The dishes that were brought out that I had ordered were superb and very elegant in sight and flavor and of course the aroma oh so good! I savored each bite as I have never had this type of food before and I definitely suggest it for someone looking to try something new or have a very nice date with someone or celebration or even just to go on your own and sip a nice hot tea or coffee while reading a book. Yes I said while reading a book. Just when you thought it couldnt get any better I found out that they have a library that they let their customers borrow books from and when youre done you just replace them! Who does that!? Wow Im impressed! There is an option to eat outside with a beautiful scenery. Roses and beautiful flowers plants and even a fountain! The place is wonderful and every person I saw working there actually so beautiful inside and even more beautiful at heart. I felt so welcome and I cant wait to go back again!
This is my new favorite spot to eat. The owner is amazing as is the service. The food is so good I dont feel like I can describe it with words. I had the vegetable stew and loved every bite. The bread they serve melts in your mouth. I love the outside area with the fresh herbs and vegetables. Do not think twice about eating here. This is one of those hidden little places that make your mouth water. Please give it a try.
We ordered the mixed grill meal for 4 and the mixed cold appetizer for 4 and then were treated to the best dining experience in a very long time, if not ever. All the food was impeccably prepared and perfectly seasoned. Servings were very generous. We then ended the meal with exquisite baklava and Turkish tea. It was our first time eating nearly every dish on the menu and each one was as delicious as the last. Everything was described perfectly by the staff and all our questions were welcomed. The waitress and waiter may have been the owners for all I could tell, they were beyond kind. The cocktails were delightful and we highly recommend the Angaritas. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this establishment.
The food looked delicious but I think Im going to have to do carry out the woman behind the counter was not able (willing?) to turn down the music that was so loud in there that was giving me a headache I usually dont go there cuz I love music but that thing was ridiculous and she was so rude to me like I said I really wanted to eat there but I guess Im going to have to just do carry out I cant even stay there to do the delivery order that music was so loud
Extremely delicious Turkish food! Me and my husband went for Eid dinner. Appetizer - yummy and creamy hummus with softest bread, spiced Olive oil and sumac dip, and salad bowl. Kebab platter for 2 - chicken and lamb adana kebab, gyro and chicken grill, every single kebab was tastier than the other one. Juicy and spiced to perfection, rice was little thik but well seasoned. We usually prefer beef and lamb kebabs but here chicken was better! Later had tea. Price is little on the higher side but portion and taste justifies it.Food came pretty fast, it wasnt crowded, its a small restaurant, there are tables outside as well, ambience is very Mediterranean, servers were nice. Will definitely go again!
Me and the wife stopped in for lunch and this place is great. Super cramped inside the place. The staff is super friendly. So why am I giving it 1 stars? I got home and within 2 hours I was on ground crying in pain! Ever have food poisoning? I have, very recently. So if thats your thing... Enjoy!
My husband and I tried Leyla on a whim and loved it! I don’t remember our shared meal name but it had 4 different meat kabobs over a bed of delicious, fluffy rice. The salad was light and refreshing. The bread was fresh, hot, and soft. The dipping sauce was flavorful. Can’t wait to go back and try something different.
We always love this place it’s really amazing, the food is really great we never had to return any of the food back to the kitchen because the food is really great, the team that works there are very professional and they are really good dealing with customers, the place itself is amazing, specially it is located in a mall, but because of the way they have the place set up you won’t even feel it’s a mall.
This place was absolutely fabulous! I have eaten a lot of Turkish food in the past, and I have to say their Okra and Lamb stew was the best I have ever had! And the kanafa had so many pistachios on it! Plus the waitress was amazing too! My husband and I were left so incredibly satisfied that we wished we lived nearby so we could eat there all the time. This place is an absolute gem!
I’m from out of town and wanted to find a mediterranean place to try since there really aren’t any good ones where I live. I went for lunch and the weather was beautiful, so I sat outside and the patio is totally gorgeous. I got coffee, grape leaves, and okra stew. Sooo delicious and the bread was delicious too. The waitress was also extremely sweet. I could tell she was running around a lot, so I really appreciated the attention she paid to me! I work in food service and even with the staff shortages everyone is experiencing right now, she did a great job. I think some of the other reviewers are not being sympathetic to that. Just try to be patient when you go out to eat. Anyway, I will be back when I’m back in town! I had a great time!
I can no longer label Anderson as the food desert of Cincinnati(Leyla, Osaka Raman, Don Rigo, Pelicans Reef, Taj, Hibachi Master, etc). My family used to live in Dubai and this is as close to authentic middle eastern cuisine that we can remember and I would argue the best in Cincinnati. Everything weve tried is fantastic. The Lebne and Acili Ezme are out of this world. Anything from the grill will just make you appreciate seasonings that were not used to and will transplant your tastebuds overseas. Also, dont be shy, give the lamb a try, its seasoned and cooked to perfection. If you have some foodies visiting from out of town and brag about food, low-key take them to this place and wait for their reactions. 🙌🏼
A very nice restaurant with a great menu. The interior has a Turkish ambiance, and theres a large outdoor dining area with approximately 20 tables. My wife and I shared the Baba Ghanoush, which consisted of smoked eggplant puree with olive oil, and garlic - delicious. I had the Okra Stew, and my wife had the Mixed Grilled Vegetables, both were excellent. 1 star deduction due to the wait. There was only one waiter, and about 40+ patrons - although our order was taken promptly, it took a fair amount of time to get to the table. All said, the food was so good that we would go again.
I loved the atmosphere which was authentically decorated in the Mediterranean style along with the music and an opportunity to sit outdoors surrounded by beautiful plants. The price is a little expensive, but then everything is freshly made. They automatically bring you hot from the oven bread to dip in a mixture of olive oil and sundried tomatos before you even order, and the food portions are really big. You can order a single meal and feed two people. The food is delicious
Leyla has quickly become my go-to restaurant in Anderson TWP. The mixed grill is always a a delight the Adana perfectly seasoned and the kabob coming out tender and moist all the time. The okra stew is outstanding and one of my favorite dishes in the Queen City. For appetizers I have had the Zucchini fritters, the falafel, hummus and grape leaves and everything was outstanding. The woman who is the front of house manager is amazing and about 75% of the reason my family comes. She is so great with my kids and she knows how to manage the table for little eaters.Leyla is well worth a visit.
Love this place! Great food! Emma is so sweet and we love when she’s there which is usually always!!! The owner is also such an amazing guy!! Very quaint inside! Try the Turkish coffee at the end with dessert if you want authentic coffee. It’s takes a few extra minutes but the taste is amazing.
Very dissapointing! Started out with being served dirty plates and cups, had to request paper cups and plates to be on the safe side. Instantly got a “not very clean” vibe, but based on the reviews figured the food would have to be amazing to overlook the uncleanliness! But the disappointment continued when we received the mixed grill that tasted horrendous! Meat still very bloody, everything tasted like it’s been frozen for years and thrown on the grill to serve. To no surprise, the remainder of the night was spent in the bathroom! Definitely would not recommend.
My wife and I were in Cinci for the weekend decided to stop by. Boy were we in for a treat. This place is freaking great. We had an appetizer sampler and mixed grill. The bread was amazing. Then came the sampler. Way way too much food for an appetizer. Everything was delicious. By the time the mixed grill was delivered I was almost in a food coma. I took home 3 boxes. Not for lack of stuffing myself silly but it was soon good. I will stop by every time I am in town. The service was a bit slow but it was well worth it.
Made a carry out order this past weekend and due to a heart condition I have to watch my sodium intake closely. Emma was great in accommodating my request for no cheese on the salad and for no additional salt to be added to anything. I’ve been a customer of Leyla’s since they first opened and thankful it is somewhere I can still patron after my heart issues. Will be back again soon.
Food was really good, we had more of a service issue. There were only two tables filled at 3pm and we wouldnt see any one for fifteen minutes at a time. We filled up on appetizer and had to take half our entree to go (we had it for dinner the following night, still delicious), but waitress kept disappearing. She also kept forgetting to bring my Turkish coffee. When I asked for it the third time, she brought me old American coffee in a small cup that had cooked down until it was thick and terrible. There was no sediment so besides the taste, it could not have been mistaken. She said no charge for the coffee because she had already brought the check. If they didnt want to make it, they should have told me so. So, great food, weird service. Maybe it was because we came at an odd time.
I was hoping to give this restaurant a second chance as I’ve been a customer for years. They appear to be having issues finding help. A month ago we went and waited over hour and half to get our food, bread took over 30 minutes to come out and I never received drink I order but was charged for it! The waiter appeared to be waiting on all tables and cooking.Went back tonight to try again Bc we love the food. Waited 10 minutes at front to be acknowledge by waiter to be seated. She wanted know if has carry out order, I said no I wanted a table. She made a remark assuming it was inconvenient I was eating there. Then preceded to ignore me and walked away. I was so upset I left restaurant and went somewhere else. This is very disappointing as we’ve had parties there and would eat all the time and recommend it. They need to fix their customer service or they won’t have a restaurant much longer, we certainly aren’t going back.
First of all it took 30+ minutes to give us bread and proceeded to give everyone else more bread when they ran out besides my table. I ordered the chicken pide and it’s supposed to come with mushrooms and it didn’t then they proceeded to tell me they ran out. My friend ordered the gyro kebab and the entire thing came cold. The waiter was rude and overall bad service. I do not recommend.
Great tasting food and excellent service. They all look like they are happy in their workplace—all of them serves with a smile in their faces. Highly commendable Mediterranean restaurant. Keep up the good work 👍P.S.: i enjoyed the baklava! would definitely come back for it 😋 loved the lamb chops and chicken thighs as well ❤️
The service was terrible, they do not care about their business! We ordered take out food for 11:30 am, while we were there at 11:15, they arrived at 11:45 themselves. We had to wait 45 more minutes to let them prepare the food hurriedly for us. It was more than an hour late, while the quality of the food was not good too. Some of them were cold and not well cooked. I do NOT recommend it!Not worth a try even.
Worst place to take anyone. Horrible waiter. Wearing his pants down his bottom. Had a what do you want attitude. Even when I was asking about the dishes he was breathing heavily. Making faces. Treated my wife horribly. Brought her food way late. Even people that came in way after us got their food first, then my wife. The food was not worth the money. It was bad but definitely no taste.Do Not Come Here.Ive eaten in worse places and gotten the best service. This heavier set male does not need to be there.Fair warning.
Best date night in our home, because we ordered a variety of foods for pickup at Layla’s. Hands down the best take out I’ve ever ordered. The presentation of the food was just as if I were dining in. The flavor took us away from quarantine and into a better place. We tried new foods, and Layla’s has never let us down. Always delicious. I can’t say enough. This restaurant is a gem in our area.
We always love going to Leyla Mediterranean and seeing our favorite server, Emma! She is so kind and personable with the very best customer service. Not only is the food fresh and delicious, they have good gluten free and dairy free options as well which I greatly appreciate!
Visited this place for a business dinner and experienced soggy baklava (noncrunchy with whipped cream on top???), meatloaf style gyros (made of very thick sliced ground meat, instead of thin sliced solid meat), cans of tomato paste and a lot of salt… Filling portions but disappointing non-authentic taste.
Ok, Yalls Im Telling Yall Somethin... LEYLA Mediterranean Is Absolutely Delicious! This Is The Most Awesome Restaurant Around Here. Their Food Is Outstanding & Amazing!! And They Are Really Proud Of Making Sure Their Restaurant Is The Place To Be To Come To Eat With The Family!!In My Experience Here, The Amount Of Cleanliness That I See Is Absolutely Amazing & Very Well Done. They Take Pride In Making Sure Its Nice & Clean. Making You Feel Like Your At Home. The Staff Here Is Truly Amazing, I Know The Owners & They Take Pride In Everything That They Do Here. Their Employees Is Super Nice & Welcoming. Such Humbling & Appreciative People. In My Opinion... That Earns Alot Of Respect In My Book.I Definitely Highly Recommend This Restaurant To All My Friends & Family. And To All Of Yall To Come & Check This Restaurant Out. You Will Not Be Disappointed.Everytime I Come & Visit Im Always Stunned About What They Have Done & Added To The Menu.Cant Wait To Come & Back For More Great, Delicious Fabulous Great Food. 😊😊🙂🙂
My husband and I have been wanting to go here for a while so we made a visit. Hands down amazing food!! Highly recommend talking to Emma she makes the experience amazing and recommendations for food! You can not go wrong here. We left stuffed from over eating and will now add this to a “favorite” place of ours. Get here if you haven’t been!
We tried Leyla Mediterranean for the first time and was very happy. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and we really enjoyed the outside atmosphere. We will definitely return in the future. I had the Gyro Kebab and my husband had the Chicken Kebab. We will return to try their dessert. The serving size was so large that I didnt have room for dessert and had to get a box for my leftovers. Our favorite part of our experience was the excellent service. My glass was never under half full, everyone there made sure we were happy, and our food arrived in a timely manner. Price wise, our bill came to $34, not bad for the service, food quality and quantity, and the calm/beautiful atmosphere. We definitely recommend this restaurant to others.
I love Middle Eastern foods, and Leyla is one of the best. We had a mixed grill that had delicious chicken kabobs, chicken sausage, lamb sausage and beef shawarma. It was served with fragrant rice and a chopped salad. Each component part of the meal was excellent, and the service was warm and personal. I was so glad that they had reopened for indoor service, and look forward to going back again, soon.
The worst customer care experience I have ever had.We went there with my friend for the first time and didnt expect this kind of reception by the waiter girl.We ordered merjee soup as a starter and then lahmajun and pide with my friend. It took them 1 hour and 20 minutes to bring our second order and additional 10 minutes to get our merjee soup.Waiter was unprofessional by asking inappropriate questions, while serving us.When we asked for a glass of tea, we were even shocked. The answer was just to wait for another hour , which was pointless. At the end when I asked to bring the receipt , she just ignored us.We had to approach to the desk by ourselves. The waiter tried to apologize us for bringing our orders too late, and we accepted it with understanding .At the end she even told me that she was alone and made inapropriate joke by telling “ you could have helped me instead of waiting for the order” , which made us even more shocked .The food was very tasty ,but unfortunately very bad customer service.
I didnt get to take pictures because I was too busy enjoying the food.... I havent had kunefe in so long and it brought back the best memories. The food isnt elaborate. Rather its exceptionally made dishes you would expect sitting around a dinner table. Exactly what I was looking for
Best Mediterranean food we’ve ever had. We tried an appetizer plate which was absolutely delicious. The complimentary homemade bread and dipping sauce is delicious. We decided to try the mixed grill plate to give us variety. It was all delectable. We drove from Indiana and this place is definitely worth the drive! The server was very friendly and the owner is so hospitable. He took the time to sit and talk with us. He’s a really great guy! Definitely support this small business
Its a small place but run with a love of food and people. I had lam stew with okra. I thought it might be a bit slimy but not at all. The combination of okra, bell peppers, onions in a tomato base sauce was a perfect combination and the lam was tender, very high quality. They make their own baklava ever day or two and its very lovely. Compared to other restaurants in the area in the same price range this one stands out as being a not-to-miss dining experience.
Best meal I have had in so long. I recomend the zucchini pancake appetizer and the gyro kabob. They make everything from scratch and its all fresh, nothing frozen. I will be going back as soon as possible. The service here was also so wonderful. If youre looking for a small business to support during covid, this is the place!
Probably the best dining experience we have had in a very long time. I would give the establishment 10 stars out of 5. It was that great! The service that we received was exceptional. Emma waited on us. She was friendly and personable. We had the zucchini pancakes and the falafel for appetizers. Both had great taste and excellent presentation. We then had the salmon and the Giro kabab for our main courses. Again great presentation and exceptional taste. Sit out on the patio if the weather allows. This place is a hidden gem. You should consider it for your short list of places to try.
I admire this place! They serve fantastic dishes, their menu is varied, The cook in that place is a specialist, I love a lot eating all their food. The dishes are always of high qualtity, the service towards the clients is friendly. I visit often this restaurant and I was never unsatisfied. I recommend it to all my friends.
Absolutely the best Mediterranean food around. The service was just as good. Everything that came out was perfectly prepared, brought out in a reasonable time and delivered with such kindness. I also love that they grow their own tomatoes and cucumbers around the patio area.
The staff was friendly and kind, the stuffed grape leaves were delicious, and the outside seating was a little haven! They grow some of their own veggies, sitting next to the tomatoes, eggplant, and mint was delightful. This is definitely one of my new favorite places!
This is a wonderful little place -- the outdoor patio is surrounded by flowers and plants and creates a cozy atmosphere. The food is phenomenal. Authentic Kurdish/Turkish cuisine coupled with the chance to try some imported beer and wine make it great for lunch or dinner. The red lentil soup was a personal favorite.
Leyla is amazing! It’s a rare gem in our neighborhood. Not only is it not a chain, the food is unique, fresh, and very tasty. The atmosphere is one-of-a-kind, and the service is awesome as well. Would highly recommend.I had the lamb pita, side of fries, and split an order of the calamari. The portions were huge, and I had enough left over for a full lunch the next day.
Absolutely the best dining experience we’ve had in a very long time. Moved to Anderson last year and always wanted to try but hadn’t made it. What a mistake! This restaurant is a local gem. Emma and Memet treated us like royalty. Service throughout was tremendous and they both made the effort to personally introduce themselves, shake our hands and thank us for coming in. Food was amazing. From the Spinach Borek appetizer to the Mixed Grill for 2 (which could have fed 4), all was perfect. Even the bread and dipping sauce was exceptional. We will assuredly be back and soon.
I came in with my family to give the restaurant a try. I’ve tried gyros before but haven’t tried other Mediterranean food. We were pleasantly surprised! All the food we tried was absolutely delicious. The portions are huge so we had leftovers for the next day. We ordered the appetizer medley and it did not disappoint. I had the lahmacun which is like a Turkish pizza. It was mouth watering. My wife had the special beyti and she really enjoyed it. For dessert we had baklava. It was AMAZING!!! The server was very friendly and even the owner stopped by our table to check on us. If you haven’t tried this restaurant yet, you need to.
We have tried appetizers and desserts from here many times and truly loved them, but tonight we got meals for the whole family and...WOW, JUST WOW!! BEST. FOOD. EVER. And the portion sizes for the price are better than anywhere else in Cincy!! Definitely need to visit this place if you are nearby!!!
We love to go out. Last night we came to this magnificent place which friends recommended to us. We enjoyed a lovely time there with great meal and a courteous stuff and a distinguished chef. We put this restaurant in our list and we shall definitely visit again soon. We warmly recommend.
I cannot say that I am an authority on Mediterranean dishes, but I when I have enjoyed a meal, I am thrilled to let others know about it.This is tucked in the Anderson Towne Center. My husband and I tried it on a whim because we have tried some Greek foods, liked them, and gave this place a go. First, the people are wonderful, and you can tell they really want you to enjoy the place and what they serve. The bread we got was fresh out of the oven, and heavenly. The food is fresh with great portions. It gives you the feel that you are Mediterranean Cafe tucked up an alley that no one knows about but you. Dont let that fool you, because on a busy night, I might call an make a reservation, as the tables fill fast. We lucked out, as we were eating early that evening. The meal had rice dishes, and a wonderful salad. The tilapia my husband got had great vegetables in a tasty sauce. The Turkish tea at the end was a nice touch that we didnt expect, but just really enjoyed. We were treated like family,we never felt rushed, and the service was phenomenal. This would be a great place for a first date, a special anniversary meal, or just a special night our with family or friends I did see people come in and get orders, so maybe they do some take out as well? Leyla Mediterranean, thanks for such a wonderful surprise of a great meal like someones Mom would make, served by family in a cozy setting. I hope to be back soon! .
We had the most wonderful first date here for lunch. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was friendly, excellent, and well-timed. It was a lovely, romantic experience on the patio. I am craving the dessert reminiscent of, but even better than, baklava. Ill be bringing a friend for her birthday celebration soon.
My wife and I decided to try this place last Saturday night, she was concerned about the ambiance however it turned out to be perfect, small, but very quaint. The staff was exceptionally friendly, food was fabulous with leftovers for lunch the next day. And, after paying our bill, the hostess asked if we ever tried Turkish coffee, I had not, so she sat us back down and served us each a Turkish coffee along with a serving of freshly made baklava. Phenomenal experience, we’ll be back!
January 2021 - a lot has changed in the world since our first visit to Leyla, but one thing that remains is the excellent service And cuisine at Leyla. We always enjoy our meal and with large portion sizes, we always have leftovers to take home.February 2018 -We had reservations for Valentines Day. The restaurant was full but the service was amazing. Food came out quickly and was very tasty.Adding Leyla to our new favorites list!
Very nice. Had five at out table. Got the appetizer for four. Very good, although one of the items was very spicy for our crowd (older). All the entrees were well received by our party. When list was short and inexpensive but workable. Make sure you make reservations, particularly on weekends and if you have a party of 5 or more. Tasty and authentic.
Excellent service and lovely atmosphere, we went to LEYLA restaurant without knowing that theyre about to close (I messed up the timing which I didnt realize until we checked out 😖) but they warmly welcomed us, and served us with no hurry. The food, was nothing but delicious, the portions were big as well. Overall I highly recommend it.
Your best bet for Anderson carryout. If youre considering it, just give it a try. Its as good as Anderson food gets, so dont overthink it,Now that Ive thoroughly besmirched Anderson, the food at Leyla is also worth talking about. The chicken adana is outstanding, whether in sandwich or entree form. Its a delectable skewer of ground chicken goodness, and Ive enjoyed it enough that I havent explored the menu much. The side of tzatziki and the veggies that come alongside it are very solid, and I love the grilled pita that comes with the sandwich.Despite my praise of the chicken adana, Im a less-meat type of guy, and in that role, I can recommend the falafel and the lentil soup. The falafel is solidly above average, but the soup is definitely on another level. Id recommend it to anyone remotely interested.Idk if its Corona friendliness or a kindness to frequent customers, but Leyla has been giving a lot of extra bread lately. Regardless, I just wanted to make note of that.
I have eaten here twice. The establishment is clean and well-maintained. Indoor seating is intimate - outdoor seating is pleasant, with hanging baskets of colorful flowers and a pleasant fountain. The menu is full of examples of Greek and Turkish cuisine, and the beer and wine selections are good for its size, including Greek, Turkish and Lebanese items. Heavy flatware and cloth napkins are set at each place. The spinach borek is my go-to appetizer: the phyllo dough is light and crisp, and the feta-and-spinach filling has a delicate flavor - the yogurt/cucumber sauce with which it is served tastes cool and fresh. Depending on the order, a round pull-apart bread with an olive-oil dip may be served - this is also very tasty. The salads were generous in size, and all of the ingredients were fresh and firm. The Mixed Grill for 2 consisted of a selection of meats and chicken on a bed of rice with diced vegetables. All of the meats were perfectly spiced and cooked, and all were delicious either with or without another yogurt-based dipping sauce that accompanied them. The baklava was made by the hostess herself and served with a line of whipped cream between each piece - the phyllo dough was not crisp as most that I have had, but the freshness was evident in the flavor. I had helped her with a minor issue just before we were served, and she generously provided glasses of aromatic tea, which was the perfect dessert accompaniment. If youre in the area, consider dining here - it is a bit more expensive than some of the other restaurants nearby, but the cost is well worth the quality and flavors that you will experience.
Finally something different and amazing in Anderson. Everything was fabulous. Great bread. Best kebabs I have ever had. The baklava was fantastic. It was a nice enviorment and clean. Very Authentic with genuine people. I will be going back often to support this restaurant!
What an incredible dining experience! The Chef And his staff and are superlative! The wine paring is first rate. The food is prepared with love and it delights and enthralls the pallet. Five stars and I am Picky this place is a gem that shines brightly we are fortunate to have to have them.
Got in, set down and checking the menu. Notice that the server (girl) having e mask but covering her neck and NOT her mouth or nose. She was serving people and getting close to the food with no face covered.Once she approached me I asked her to cover her face, and she was not profit at all. I left and will never go back to that restaurant.I am wondering how they cook the food and how clean they are.
Me and my boyfriend went here quite a few months ago and after our first experience made sure we came back! We went for Valentines day and the staff was super sweet and the food was just too good. I got the stuffed grape leaves the first time we went and they were divine I usually dont like to step that far out of my comfort zone with food but they did not disappoint. This time we got an appetizer which I cant remember the name of but I believe it started with a b. It was absolutely delicious it was a phyllo dough roll stuffed with feta cheese and a yogurt dip and I wouldve eaten the whole appetizer by myself if my boyfriend wasnt there. Along with the food being great a lot of it is very easy to share. The stuffed grape leaves made it easy to give one to my boyfriend, and the appetizer was easy to share. I would reccomend this place to anyone looking for a new place to try out.
Тhis is the best 1️⃣ Turkish cafe ☪️ 🏩 in Cincinnati Ohio🌆 Where you can go for dinner with your friends. We felt us as like at home. 👩🦱 the waitress was very polite with us and explained everything in more detail what we could not understand. Also 🥙🥘foods well cooked 💯and very tasty🥗🍲. I will tell thanks👍 everyone very much to this team for a wonderful evening time🕰️ which we spent in this place.📜💒
2nd visit to this place, 1st time the bread they offer was warm and fresh, service was fast and courteous and food was good.2nd time bread was not that fresh, eggplant appetizer had a weird acidic taste probably from being a few days old, food was still good though this time the gyro was a bit charred !
Tried Mediterranean food several times at different places. This is the first one were I really loved the food. The hostess/waitress was well knowledge and charismatic. Food came out in a timely fashion. The complimentary bread was fantastic, with crisp outside and moist soft inside and was perfectly paired with there homemade sauce versus the usual garbage oils or boring butters you typically get at most restaurants. My meal again cooked to perfection on a Turkish pita bread. The Taziki sauce is the best Ive ever had. Finished off the night with Bahclava, and my sentiment toward that is, so thats how its supposed to taste, but then to top it off, the hostess brings out some complimentary Turkish tea which paired perfectly and made the Bahclava even better. Up until tonight Ive never been a huge fan of Mediterranean food and for me at least its always seemed pricey for what it is, and even though I would of liked things to be a dollar or two cheaper. With comparing my past experience with other places to this one, it was well worth the money spent.
Ate here for our first time yesterday, and it was so beyond amazing we had to come again and bring my mother and little brother to try it as well and they loved it just as much! Food is amazing, great and super friendly staff, and the inside is really pretty, clean and comfortable. Will be back again for sure.
This was some of the best Mediterranean I have ever had. I had the falafel sandwich with fries and a shepherd salad and I cant wait to go back to try some of the meat dishes, like the kebab or doner. The meal also came with amazing freshly baked bread.Go now. Get one of the best meals in the area and support a local business.
This site is my number one site. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this restaurant. when I I need a proper lunchon, this restaurant comes right away to my mind. superb and diverse food and a rich menu.helpful team, and pleasant vibes. In addition to that, the pay is reasonable. I praise this place with no doubt.
You can never go wrong with authentic Mediterranean food, we started off with a hot appetizer Zucchini Pancake mixture of zucchini, carrots, feta, & dill seasoned with spices and served with yogurt, delicious. Then the main course Mixed Grill for 3 Chicken adana, chicken kebab, doner kebab, adana kebab, lamb kebab, freshly cooked to prefection. The staff were friendly and attentive to our requests A+. Nice place for a romantic dinner $$$

2021-12-26I love this location. They do have the most delicious Mediterranean dishes. the atmosphere is very cozy and the team is outstanding. I have been to many Mediterranean restaurants in DC, New York, Chicago but Leyla is the best. Make sure to order their appetizers it is very delicious and freshly made. We also had a kebab platter, my husband and I enjoyed it very much. Also, they have Kurdish coffee yummy! Will come back!

2022-05-03There were good aspects, such as the bread and dip that come with the meal. The bread was so soft and warm. I was no impressed with the gyro. The lamb wasnt very hot and I had to drench it in sauce. Our waitress was very nice however. I saw a plate of another patron and her food looked very appetizing. I think I would come back and try something else.

2022-06-04My mother and I almost always find a time to have lunch here when were both in town. Amazing atmosphere, great food, and pleasant staff. The outside is lovely, and they have a nice fountain there. The food is a little on the pricey side, but for about $10-$12, I got enough salad for almost two people! As someone spending my first pride month publicly out, it was also very reassuring to hear their support for our community. To the woman who was waiting on us today, I do not know your name, but thank you for the hospitality and wonderful food. Do not let sour customers bring you down. You are doing amazing!

2021-09-23If you havent been to LEYLA Mediterranean yet, get there! Oh my gosh! My taste buds are still tingling from going here the other night!.We ordered the cold appetizers for 2 and the mixed grill for 1. They serve warm fresh bread beforehand thats so good! And it was more than enough for both of us (probably coulda shared with 3 people)..All of it was around $45 (not including tip). The meats were so flavorful and you can eat them without adding any extra seasoning or sauce. And those dips... 😋 gahhh u can taste the freshness in every bite..Make 👏 it 👏 a 👏 stop👏.Locally owned and operated by really sweet folks. They have a small team running it, but the service was super friendly and quick!.Beautiful outdoor seating with lots and lots of flowers, plants, herbs, and veggies growing plus ample indoor seating..And get the Turkish tea and kunefe (dessert) too! ((Chefs kiss))

2021-08-23It was a nice atmosphere, and the food was very good. They probably could’ve used another server but the staff are very friendly. Unfortunately they were out of fish the day we went but we’ve got the kebab for three and it was good. A few hiccups but enjoyed our meal and I would recommend them.
