The food suprised me with how good it was. Specifically the scrambled eggs were far beyond what you usually get a restaraunt. The cooks know what theyre doing.

I stopped in to place a carry out order, two staff members were having a heated discussion, the hostess proceeded to take my order, a gyro, a chicken salad croissant, and potato soup. The hostess suggested it’d be 15 minutes, and wrote down my name and number to call me when it was ready, while I waited in my car. 35 minutes passed, so I called to ask if the order was ready, a lady said said there’s an order ready but doesn’t have a name on it, so who knows how long it was sitting there ready. I went inside to pick up the order and my name and phone number were clearly on the receipt attached to the bag. The gyro lacked flavor, the croissant was soggy, and the potato soup tasted like it came from a can. The customer service and quality of food have declined, maybe you’ll have a better experience while dining in?!
Absolutely Love this place. Staff was fantastic and made you feel they were genuinely happy that you came in to eat a meal. Pancakes were fantastic and so was our service. Thanks Teresa!!

I thought my first time here would be a positive one because there were so many great reviews and my family recommended this place, but that was not the case. As soon as we are seated, I have to wait nearly 15 minutes before we’re even asked what we want to drink, to which the waitress already has a HORRIBLE attitude and acts as if we are inconvenience for even being there in the first place. We receive our drinks and then order and it takes the typical time to receive our food. The whole time we eat (close to 45 minutes to an hour) the waitress finally comes by and refills our drinks twice towards the end of the visit. I place a to go order for my wife and receive both bills. The dine in bill was correct but the waitress tried charging me $6 more on the subtotal compared to what everything actually added up to. I went up and paid and corrected the issue and had to wait nearly AN HOUR again to get my to go food, which was missing several items when I arrived home. Not to mention it was blazing hot outside and they did not seem to have any air conditioning on the entire time we were dining in for breakfast.1/10 DO NOT recommend.Horrible serviceOverchargedNo AirLong Wait For FoodMissing To-Go Items
This is an older mom and pop establishment. They have good food at a reasonable price. I have ate here twice both times the staff was great. The food was good. I would go back if I was working in the area again. If your taking someone out you want to impress I probably wouldnt go here on a first date. Its more of a place retirees like to go hang out with local friends kind of feeling.
This is the best breakfast in the area. Ive tried them all. Great prices and great service. My server was Cindy and she was great. I had the Mexican omlete and Eggs Benedict, both were delicious. The omlete was huge and the coffee was good. I will be back!!!
Large menu, well prepared. A little higher price than a few others around, but the service is quick, food is fresh and the staff is very accommodating. Dont expect a free coffee fill up for the road though, they will add that request to your bill. I would recommend this place if you are not on a tight morning schedule, sometimes there is a short wait.

Great food good service. I had a piece of metal shaving from a steel wool or something like it on my bacon. I thought perhaps a discount was in order but no discount was given. I still give it a 4 star. Would have given 5 star if they would have given discount for steel wool shaving.

Two breakfast foods I love, omelets and waffles. The Legacy has both and are both worth every penny. The food is excellent, the prices VERY reasonable and the wait staff was very eager to please with extra requests.
The pancakes, scrambled eggs, and biscuits n gravy were AMAZING. So tasty and delicious. Just good food that you don’t find much anymore. My friends loved their waffle, pancakes, bacon and sausages as well. The prices were fantastic too. The syrup was a little thin but still tasted good. If you’re ever in Dayton or just passing through, I highly recommend it. Small town, mom/pop place.

First time there. Service was fine. But if you are going for an omelet, forget it. It was like scrambled eggs dry.Pancakes are awful. I asked for peach topping, thought it would be like pie topping. Just peaches out of a can.Want good breakfast. Try Hasty Tasty or Bob Evans.
Excellent place to eat. Food was very hot and very very good. Service was excellent our server was very knowledgeable on the menu. Bathrooms needed cleaning they were very dirty. All in all excellent place to eat! Will definitely return. Thank you for the excellent dining opportunity.

The food was really delicious and the staff was nice, and I really was hoping to give a full 5out of 5 because the food really was fantastic and the service was really good as I just mentioned ,unfortunately I do have to give it a 3 if I could I would say 3.5 but anyways Im giving it 3 because the seats were a little run down , someone come out of the kitchen that had put together to go orders and she was not wearing a mask and restroom was not as clean as I hoped it would be. But then again on the plus side you do get a lot for the money me and my husband both had two good size meals my husband even added a cup of soup to his and it was only $26 for the two of us so thats another good point anyways I do recommend trying it out and seeing what you think for yourself
Had a great after church lunch with pastor Clarence and his wife Betty. Got to meet a church family and get to spend time with thier 2 beautiful daughters who spoke very little because they kept their mouths full of the delicious pancakes.
First time id ever been there i got stuck with a new server... Chris i believe is her name. But pleasantly surprised at how well she did for her first week on ghe floor. Food was excellent. Obviously a well trained staff. Will definitely be back.

Waited 10 minutes before anyone came to greet us and ask for drinks. Never got my drink. Waitress not very pleasant. Bacon had a nasty smell and taste. Never asked if we wanted refill on coffee. This is our second time here our first time last year was good not so much this time.

Plenty of staff but they lack working together, some spend time fawning over old timers and regular customers but rushed us through ordering. Waitress didnt check back with us after food was delivered until she brought check but talked to others she wasnt serving today. Waffle & French Toast cold. Managed to get a second waffle after she brought check, it was cold also. With Covid we try to be patient and treat staff with extra consideration when we eat out. I was dumbfounded when I saw a waitress take a straw out of a senior lady mask who was being silly and stick it in her drink. One young girl cleaning tables and menus was the only one I saw not goofing off. It was an unpleasant experience to say the least. The place is old and worn. Not sure what their Legacy is.

Looking for a different place to go for breakfast in Dayton,Ohio. Legacy had mixed reviews but thought we would try it..I rely on reviews a lot so i wanted to give an honest one for other people..Unfortunately the only decent thing was coffee. Silver dollar pancakes were just ok...syrup was warm but very thin, not much taste ..orange juice was very watered down and bacon was horrible! Had a wierd metalic taste..we were afraid to eat it! Our waitress was very nice and did take the bacon off our bill. The other thing that bothered us was the lack of mask wearing!! There was a sign on the door requiring them, but several parties that did come in did so without masks. The waitresses were wearing half face shields that did not cover their noses and the checkout girl was wearing nothing as she walked around doing things in the restruant...We did not feel safe ..We honestly wanted it to be good, but we cannot recommend this restaurant at all!! Dont wate your time or money .

The breakfast is good. However lunch not so much. My BFF and I had the same thing Monte Cristo sandwich. We both had salad she had fries and I had onion rings. The sandwiches were soggy, my onion rings were burnt, her fries wasnt crispy and the pop was flat. It took 15 minutes for the server to greet us. She didnt even ask if everything was ok she barely checked on us. At least she took the onion rings off the bill. When we went to pay the bill the manager blamed it on covid really. First and last time well be eating lunch there if we go back at all.
The Legacy was very clean, good social distancing, and the food was great! Our server didnt try to rush us 4 out even a good 2 hours of talking after our meal. I would highly recommend The Legacy Pancake House!

I love Legacy. Everyone is polite and Ive always had great service. The food never looks photogenic but the taste us ALWAYS excellent. They are consistent and thats what matters. Unlike chain restaurants where you wonder if what you had last week will be as delicious this time.

Without doubt, one of the best breakfast spots in the area - and at an incredible value, to boot.Their pancakes are phenomenal and, in what seems to be a rarity, they always have corned beef hash available.It can get pretty busy, but the interior is deceptively spacious and Ive never had to wait more than a few minutes (if that). The servers are always very friendly and attentive - and Ive never had so much as a hint of a mistake with any order Ive made.Wonderful establishment. For those interested: cant go wrong with their Vegas special breakfast; the amount of food you get for the money you spend is incomparable. It almost feels like theft. Delicious, filling theft.
The staff are friendly and the food is amazing. My boyfriend and I met our realtor here for breakfast to discuss what we were looking for in a house. We are now proud homeowners and have legacy pancake house to thank for making delicious food to break the ice. :)

Walked in with my husband,Carrie was our waitress, we ordered a coffeee and a mt dew she said how about a Pepsi, my husband said I would like a coffee! No miss understanding! The waitress specifically brought us the wrong drinks with an attitude. I have never felt so disrespected . Does Carrie have a problem with interracial couples? Never go there wish I could give no stars! Manager said we could come in and she would take care of us! Thanks but why would I put myself back in that disrespectful environment?

Pretty good experience. Food was good, prices were decent. Honestly though I was a little shocked to see how almost perfectly the seating was segregated. Looked like I walked into a restaurant in the late 50s. Whites over here, blacks over there. Perhaps it just happened like that but its something I definitely noticed.
Delicious buttermilk pancakes, bacon, ham and eggs at a great price. Decor is old and rather worn, but I can see they are doing their best to keep prices low for their regulars and the waiters work so hard and are so pleasant. I took out one star because I dont understand the maple syrup. When it came, hubby was like whats this? I was like maybe its soy sauce. Haha. Or coffee. Thats how liquid it was. But still tasted good.
They have some things here you just cant get anywhere else. My husband loves the potato pancakes and says the corner beef hash is awesome. 4 stars because they dont have Coke products. Great food at reasonable prices with good service

Have followed this family from their previous restaurant years ago and they always seem to manage well and keep a staff that is on it in every way. Just always expect delicious food, good service and friendly people. Our go-to place, especially on Sunday morning!

Stopped by here today 9/10/18 for a quick breakfast with a friend sat down ordered our drinks i got coffee and he got tomato juice...coffee comes out and i notice something in it so i say i think theres a bug in my coffee i grab my spoon and proceed to lift it out and its a ROACH! now we left our waitress Amy a tip but we will not be back!!! Totally disgusted!!

Always on point! One of the better spots in the Dayton area and never a huge line to get in unlike most other places on the weekend. If you havent ate here yet you owe it to yourself to try it! Great value and good home cooked food

Great Value for your money. The crepes and blintzes are always delicious. As a bonus if you feel like you cant eat an entire plate then they will let you order singles for $2. Make sure to specify Fresh Strawberries or just strawberries. Both are delicious but one is more expensive.
The food is good and the prices are great! Of course, with low prices there are sacrifices. In this case, it is the the decor and furnishings. The pink formica tables are dated and have seen much better days. You come to a restaurant for food, however. The breakfast menu is larger than most; containing blintzes, potato pancakes, and crepes. Everything we tried, we liked. As a caveat, I dont drink coffee so I cant help you there.
This is a very clean restaurant. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Meals reasonably priced. I will have to visit again to establish food quality.

Had a fantastic breakfast. This place did all the little things that make mom & pop restaurants THE place to eat. It was clean, our server was attentive and friendly, the food was perfectly prepared, and nothing was fussy or pretentious. I wish I could give it six stars.
Good food, good prices. Terrible service, unless youre a regular. (You can tell regulars because the staff knows their names and vice-versa) The staff falls all over themselves to get to the regulars first.There is, however, the bus-person. He is the hardest working person there. He gets you coffee, water then busses the table very quickly when you are done.

We walked in, sat down and they refused to wait on us by ignoring the fact that we were even there. Other customers of a different race came in after we did and they were immediately greeted and their orders were taken while we still continued to wait patiently and quietly. I would not EVER recommend coming to this place to anyone. They DISCRIMINATE RACIALLY!!!!!!

Been awhile since visiting and glad Im back! The breakfast special Legacy is a really perfect meal choice. Bacon was plentiful and crisp, pancakes were fluffy and eggs were cooked to order. Ill be back soon!
If youre looking for great food cooked in a local, non-franchisey restaurant with fast, friendly service - this is the place. And, they serve breakfast all-day long, so you can get that stack of pancakes whether its 8:00 am in the morning or 2:00 pm in the afternoon.

A true throwback. It reminded me of places we would go when i was a child in the 1980s. I expected the food to be good (Mexican omelette and pancakes) but it was mediocre at best. Nothing special here.

The food wasent bad, i got some banama pancakes and french toast, figured id get those seeing as the building is called pancakes. Now the place itself looked and smelled like an old retirement place. Floors looked old amd used, paint color was ugly, wallpaper old and ugly and the ceiling looked black when the tiles are realy white. And last of all the smell was not pleasnt. Id say this place fits older people better then younger people.

2022-04-30BIG CHANGES! Improved menu, friendlier staff, and faster service. BEST VALUE IN DAYTON. I love they still have up the dividers at each both. Supper COVID safe place to eat. Check out the pictues of the menu Ive posted.

2022-03-29My family absolutely love this place. I take my kids here for breakfast any time i can. Its well kept and clean. The staff are sweet and they are just down to earth people which is what makes us comfortable to come back. The food is delicious and my whole family would recommend the legacy burger!

2022-05-16I left my wallet at home due to my own self. They offered to warm my food up but I was ok and she gave me a 10 percent discount. In my head I’m like I could have just not came back but I paid for the cold food and was going to warm it up when I got home. My hash browns I got were so crispy, there was no way and eggs aren’t good warmed up so I fed it to the dog.i also I had a syrupy that was open and spilled over every condiment and plastic wear in the bag. I really did a appreciate the 10 percent off but the food was not good at all and to have been replace shouldn’t have been a big deal but hey who am I.

2021-04-19Great experience is my short and sweet overview of Legacy Pancake House.And heres why if you would like more details.The staff were friendly and helpful with coffee refills and overall service by keeping up on making sure everything was good the entire visit. I tried the meat lovers skillet and my only complaint would be the description did not state it would include tomatoes and green peppers but it looks so good I ate it with those items cuz I normally dont like but it wasnt too bad at all. I didnt want to send it back because it looked so good and I wanted to try it with those toppings since they came with it. So I tried something new and it wasnt a mistake and I can definitely recommend Legacy Pancake House to anybody whos hungry and in the area and wants great food, great customer service and all Without putting too much stress on the wallet or pocket book. 5 stars for sure!

2019-12-04Its a calm atmosphere. Customers come to relax and not rush through their meal. Service was kind of slow. But it wasnt a problem. The food was tasty and they have a nice size menu with a vast variety of options. There is nothing fancy about it. Still it is a good place to eat.
