A must try in Lakewood. Very neat Viking base themed bar. Comfortable yet unique, but also not overdone. Beyond amazing cocktails. Handmade with uncommon and fresh ingredients. Cocktail price range was 7-10 bucks which is more than fair bang for your buck. Solid beer and whiskey selection. Food was excellent. Portions fair for price. Server was great. Knowledgeable with amazing recommendations. Check it out!
Such a cute place! Totally love the theme and the staff are knowledgeable and helpful. The menu has delicious options, personally I only snacked on bread with spicy mustard but even that simple bite was so yum. The cocktails are fairly priced and very unique. I tried Beware, the Titans which was like boozy tea, I really enjoyed it, there was a sprig of mint garnishing, which created a full sensory experience of scent and taste. And now Im obsessed with Furnet! Definitely check it out :)
We came here heading their martini list was incredible. There wasnt much of one. The cocktails were very creative, I bet you wont find many of them anywhere else, but the few I had were way too sweet. The food looked amazing, I hope to come back and try it some time. I would like to see a larger mead list considering its a viking themed bar
I expected LBM to be intimidating and over the top, but it was actually really cozy in a fairytale sort of way. The bartenders and staff gave off a cold, cooler than you vibe but aside from that and the price of the cocktails, its definitely worth it. The drink menu is creative, and refined and sitting at the bar was an added experience just to watch them made. The food was sort of hit or miss. I wasnt super impressed with the burger, but the fries and aoli was superb. Their recent special was spicy octopus udon, and it did not disappoint at all. LBM isnt the sort of place Id go every weekend, but itll definitely be my go-to when I want to impress someone.
A cocktail experience not to be missed. Co-owned by cocktail afficianados who put amazing care into their creations. It carries over to their food too, of which both menus which change seasonally. Fantastic vibe, with metal music and b horror flicks on the one and only small TV (unless its Shrek Tuesday). Very friendly and attentive staff that really care about good service and sharing their creations.
I love this place. Staff is really relaxed and not overly familiar or imposing. But they define make sure you’re take care of. Great balance. Food is great. Poutine and burgers are great and their cocktails are cool. Ambiance is awesome if you enjoy some metal and the Nordic vibes.
Best bar for authentic cocktails in Lakewood. Fantastic food menu, monthly rotating food and drink options, all drinks made from scratch and perfected with quality. Worth checking out, Viking theme inspired with some dark metal undertones make each experience unique. Best ceiling in any bar ever. Staff and owners are also great people, check it out ya nerd!!
This place is amazing! We wandered in here by accident and were very pleased, we will be returning. The menu was great, the drinks were very different and made extremely well with interesting ingredients. The atmosphere is fun and different. Cant wait to return. Oh and our waiter was awesome.
Laid back servers/bartenders who are down to earth, and a laid back atmosphere with a nice vibe. Bathrooms are spotless. Drinks are really interesting and good. I recently heard that some of the bartenders came from Porco. They really know what they are doing. The Old Fashioned was amazing. New York Sour excellent too. Try the happy hour food specials. The burger with goats cheese and arugula is amazing and probably the best burger Ive ever had. Poutine is crazy good, too. Its really easy to over eat here! They use paper straws, and I like the environmental awareness.
My favorite bar. Fantastic drinks, really knowledgeable bar tenders, every type of bitters and alcohol you can think of. Also really good food. Definitely recommend the soup of the day. Atmosphere is an interesting mix of classy upscale bar and metal/punk club. A fantastic local place thats work checking out.
Loved this place! We went in with a few girls to discuss books that we have read and the atmosphere was great. We ordered a few cocktails and loved all of them. I ordered the beef tartar and Brussels sprouts, and both of those dishes rocked. The service was attentive and the decor looks like a lot of hard work was put into it. Very cool place to go, I will definitely be back!
Place isnt very big so expect to be tight especially with a larger group or have a wait. Drinks are the best in Cleveland and their constantly changing food menu is fantastic. The bartenders and service staff are obviously proud of what they are putting out. The ambience of the place is loud. But who wouldnt want Slayer and Doom Metal blasting in a viking metal bar while eating viking spiced pork rinds and drinking an acid-adjusted liquor cocktail that tastes like a Granny Smith apple through some sort of witchcraft!?
The most exceptional, fun and memorable experience at a Bar/Restaurant I have ever had. Having been a chef I can only tell that the cuisine is meticulously thought out and prepared to perfection! The art of making a great cocktail has been mastered by the crew at LBM and I feel they deserve adoration for it is not very often that I encounter such graceful skill.
Everything we had was amazing! The cocktails are so unique and are REAL drinks! The food was so delicious. We shared the poutine, fried chicken, and pork belly and it was perfect for sharing with So much flavor! The staff was so nice. The decor was cool! We cant wait to go back!
Upscale, unpretentious with delicious drinks and fabulous food. Omg the gnocchi!!! Awesome! I wanted more! My drink was delicious!!! The owners/staff really put a part of themselves in this lovely cocktail bar. Love all the little details, down to the ice cubes! The Nordic vibes, cool paintings and unique lighting made for a relaxed atmosphere. What a great group of people to share an evening with. I look forward to sampling that entire menu.
Was walking down the street waiting for my barocco table to open up.. LBM caught my eye, immediately was curious enough to wander in. Loved the atmosphere. Wanted to check out a menu for a future visit but was drawn in, decided to skip out on my reservation at barocco. My fiance got the chili cheese fries and I got a burger and wow. Its honestly the best burger Ive had in I cant tell you when. Sauces go great with the toppings, fries were stellar. We are stuffed. The drinks!! Togo cocktails is where its at. Great experience overall and will definitely be back when Im in the area again!
We came just for cocktails so I didnt try the food menu, but the cocktails were delish! Obviously a lot of thought went into procuring obscure liquors and crafting unique cocktails. The decor is fun, everything is Viking themed. Its a very tiny place with a super casual atmosphere and it was an enjoyable experience.
Went to LBM for the first time last Friday with a couple of friends. Our waitress, Miranda, was awesome and attentive without being overbearing. I got there about 10 minutes after my friends sat down and she gave me a few minutes to get settled before asking my drink order. They had a great cocktail list but I wasn’t entirely sure what I felt like having and took her suggestion of trying the Tom Collins. Great recommendation and she checked in with us before happy hour ended to see if we wanted another round. We all ordered the burger and fries and they were consistently all delicious. Will definitely be back in the future!
Hands down best drinks on the west side and possibly all of Cleveland. The bartenders are true craftsman and even if its not on the menu they are guaranteed to make you a fantastic drink. The have an insane liquor selection with some unique and rare bottles. They experiment and have fun. Also a Unique atmosphere like nothing else I appreciate something different and will continue to frequent this place.
Ordered takeout after seeing a few people recommend L.B.M. on facebook. The food was incredible! Their burger is one of the best Ive had in a long time, huge chunks of roasted garlic in the fries, and incredibly original and delicious hot sauce on the side. Cant wait to experience the full menu when the pandemic is over.
Thought it would be really fun here, but it turned out kinda lame. The place was packed and drinks were overpriced and mediocre. But the atmosphere is interesting and the decorations are pretty cool conversation starters. I can see coming with a group of friends and getting a table. The food looked and smelled good, but I was just there for drinks.
LBM is a great spot. A super cool atmosphere and a really friendly staff. Their food is always very good, and there is always a vegan option. They sell local art off the walls, which is a really cool touch. Last I checked it was paintings based on Firefly.Definitely worth your time to come here, and then come back here.
We Absolutly love this place! Food is so good and the drinks better! The burger is usually my go to, but everything is tasty! The staff is great and attentive! They have no problem explaining, or helping you with a drink and food choice! Do your self a favor and give them a shot you wont be disappointed !!
Love this place! The food is great and reasonably priced and the cocktails are very affordable. Plus they have great happy hour deals and cheap domestics if youre running a bit skint. They play good music, but it isnt obnoxiously loud. I hate when you have to scream over the music and whoever youre with still cant hear you. I love the viking decor, I was in here before when it was the Corner Pub and LBM totally gutted the building, it is so much nicer now that it is hardly recognizable. I havent come across any creeper guys yet, so their clientele is a huge plus. The bartenders and servers are all very friendly and knowledgeable. My favorite thing is that they do great mocktails for $5, in case you cant or arent in the mood to drink alcohol. Its often very crowded, but they cant help that theyre popular! ;) If youre willing to wait for a little bit you can get a table or a seat at the bar. I havent been in a bar yet that I felt could become my hangout spot, but this just might be it!
Food was pretty good, bit overpriced... But we put in an order for extra fries and weve been waiting for about 23 minutes for them. Why havent we had the chance to tell anyone or followed up? Think the serving staff forgot about us....EDIT: Returned last night and it was a different experience nearly 6 months later. Server was attentive to us, checking in frequently, and even made a last second accommodation for my wife after the order was placed. Prices still are a bit high and would suggest they also have an alternative to their own items - they have house-made ketchup, why not Heinz as well? No popular soda products either except bottled - to just help ease in folks who may not be there for the booze. Still, better experience!
Reading all the other reviews, I had high expectations when I entered the place. They exceeded my expectations. I hate to thrown around the word authentic. But, this place is authentic. This is no corporate vision. This is the real deal. Heavy metal music (not too loud), Interesting ceiling lighting, swords and axes on the walls, a fake skull here and there... The bartenders and servers are invariably knowledgeable and nice. Dont go for wine, you can (but dont have to) go for beer. Go for their drinks. They are awesome (another word I dont throw around too much). There will be many more visits.
Great small plates, and handmade cocktails. Small place in a great location in Lakewood. Decor was unique and art for sale. We took a chair from the next table since we confirmed with the couple that they werent using it, but the host was picky about it. Little annoyed with that. but overall good experience.
I dont go out a lot, but when I do LBM is always near the top of my list. AMAZING craft cocktails that all taste delicious. The BEST burger I have ever eaten, and the rest of the menu has some amazing hand crafted items as well. The atmosphere is unlike any place I have ever visited, and the smaller size of the place really makes you feel.cozy even if the place is slammed busy. If you have not been to LBM yet you are SERIOUSLY missing out!
At least on weeknights, this is a super chill bar. LBM stands for Lakewood Black Metal. Despite MANY warnings about loud music, thats perhaps only on the weekends?I havent tried the food yet (which was a mistake, the food looked incredible,) but the cocktails they offer are incredible. And strong. But theres also an entire selection of mocktails if thats not your thing which are also REALLY good. And, of course, the atmosphere is incredible. Theres art and carvings covering the bar that set the mood, along with the candles and lanterns. ItsI was initially worried about going in because I dont seem like the type to be at a viking black metal bar. I shouldnt have been concerned AT ALL. On weeknights, at least, the clientele is pretty varied. There were both men and women, varying from pretty stereotypical metal heads to a mom and daughter having a nice dinner and picking out Harry Potter wall art.Furthermore, the staff was very friendly and attentive. They made sure we felt welcomed and were happy to give us recommendations.
This place is absolutely one of my new favorite bars in the whole city. Unique and incredibly cool decor, great heavy music of all sub-genres cranking through the speakers, bartenders who are far from timid and will mix you up some of the best drinks around. From what I hear the food is great as well - on my to-do list to try it!! Will be back ASAP :)
This bar is epic from the Viking decor and lighting to the Norse metal pounding through the speakers. If you appreciatena solid wood bar, finely crafted cocktails and food, a complete Viking Spirit, this is the bar for you. Their drinks are thoughtful and nuanced. The small plate menu is precise and well-crafted. This bar is for the Modern Viking and anyone looking for a unique experience not available anywhere else in Cleveland.
So this place was a Ace Up Our Sleeve. On first glance, its a neighbor bar. At its core, its a foodie oasis. The fried green tomatoes and burger were food-gasmic. Their bourbon selection was second to none. Their mocktails were so tasty and complex, it makes one consider omitting spirits from your beverages. The bar staff took great care of us (aka no table needed if they are busy)
I absolutely love this place. The food is exquisite and not prepackaged. It is homemade! It is expensive but worth every dollar. I appreciate the chef and bartenders. They do a great job and are professional. If you want to try something different and have a great time I highly recommend this fine establishment.
This is definitely my favorite bar in Lakewood. Dont miss out on the food here, they chef is really pushing himself day in and day out. Im still working my way through their long list of cocktails, which all display the bartending staffs creative energy. This place rules!
Absolutely fantastic l. No surprise there, if you know the place at all.200%covid safety protocols. Well above state covid requirements. With the apocalyptic theme, wearing masks just feel right. Like we dressed for a theme night.Cocktails were fantastic as always. The Percolate for two was super fun, with diy variations at the table. The new burger is every bit as delicious as the original LBM burger. Pork n beans was amazing.Service is always fabulous because these guys care so very much and its always obvious. They do fantastic carryout too.
LBM is absolutely amazing. I’ve heard good things since I started working in Lakewood but just recently checked it out. I’ve been missing out! Our server was phenomenal and guided us through the extensive, cleverly named, menu. He recommended several cocktails to us and each one was unique and expertly crafted. We split the poutine and it was exceptional!!! The atmosphere was unique and the more I looked around the more cool stuff I noticed. I cannot wait to go back and try more!
My favorite place to eat and/or drink in Lakewood, maybe in Cleveland. Love the atmosphere, the staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful, fantastic drinks, and out of this world food. Ive never had a drink here I didnt like, and the poutine and pork belly are menu standouts.
They deliver you a high-class sophisticated look in their cocktails and food at a reasonable price. When I say hi class cocktails I mean.... these people create things out of different fruits or Nectars to put into your cocktail to make it unique and different. I have been here twice and just the craftsmanship I see going into creating these cocktails is beautiful. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and has made great recommendations for me not knowing what most of there ingredients are. Lol. So far I have tried the enchiladas. Me and my boyfriend couldnt get enough of those, they were served on a bead of I believe home made salsa, the empanadas had the right amount of crunch and texture to them they were very tasty! Two empanadas for $6-you cant beat that. Next we tried the calamari which I was hesitant about because they had some fruit on there Ive never heard of before also onions and some sauce I didnt know of. I will be coming back to try more of those signature cocktails and to try their chicken dish and the burger
We seriously love LBM. Found it sort of by accident and were taken as soon as we stepped inside. From the dark cozy atmosphere to the metal music, artwork and carvings. My boyfriend and I are celiacs and the waiter was so knowledgeable, we felt very confident in his suggestions and the kitchens ability to keep our food safe. AND let me just say our 4 top couldnt stop raving about everything we had to eat and drink. Both couples were going to share a bowl of soup and we ended up with 4 bowls of it, we couldnt get enough of it. Thank you LBM, youre awesome. Well definitely be seeing you again soon.
I just returned from happy hour with my coworkers, and boy am I satisfied! The interior is richly themed and aggressive. Wood carvings, gritty artwork, and plenty of antlers bring the whole Viking Bar theme to life. The heavy metal music in the background adds a nice touch.Im no cocktail connoisseur, but the selections peaked my interest. I went with a classic Sazerac ($6 during Happy Hour), which was like a sweet Manhattan. Next time I would like to sample their beer selection. The food menu is small, which I greatly appreciate. Pricing is very reasonable, and you simply cannot beat their Happy Hour pricing. Cajun Pork Cracklins w/ Remoulade for $3, and their Burger w/ Herbed Chevre and Arugula for $8. Seriously, you cannot beat that. The Cracklin was crispy and the Remoulade was super flavorful. I ordered my burger mid-rare, which really came out mid-well. But the bun was excellent, and the Burger had a fantastic char-broiled flavor. Roasted Tomato, Arugula, Caramelized Onion, and Herbed Chevre were great compliments. Their Chipotle Aioli and house Ketchup are a perfect hot/sweet duo for their fries.I think this place does a nice job of offering an environment that welcomes a variety of patrons. The food and drink are enough to keep them coming, and the hard work that was put into bringing this place together makes the fruit of their labors even sweeter. I look forward to sharing this place with my friends and returning many times over!#LivingOffTHELAND
LBM, a Viking themed Bar with metal music and great movie selection for their TV, is the best bar and the best skilled bartenders in Cleveland. Amazing tasty and delicious drinks made by Eric. The drinks are unique recipe, seasonal and change with time. Only this bar makes them, you will not find this anywhere else. The food is delicious, I’ve had their poutine and burger but they offer more eclectic options. This is a cut above everything else the city has to offer. This is no joke, serious, enjoy because you won’t find this anywhere else in the US.
Great music, cool ambiance, but the drinks are pricy and pretentious, and the food choices are expensive small plates of mostly uneatable food. The poutine, gnocchi, and chicken were horrendously bad. Maybe in a couple months Ill try this place again once they fire the chef.
Can’t attest to the drinks or food, because myself and a group of friends only stayed a few minutes. We would have stayed the entire night, but blaring death metal through the speakers was a bad first impression, and we decided to leave. Would go back but a quick note to management: death metal is for a very niche crowd...
Im walking here my first time there was some great heavy metal playing on the radio Santa at the bar the guy looked over said how you doing give me some water a menu without even asking. the staff was amazingly awesome very cool, take the time to explain anything you need the selection of mead is amazing in the food is different but very satisfying and not obscure for the sake of obscurity. The atmosphere was very relaxed hardwood everywhere wood engravings of runes, art on the Walls for sale, love this place going back brace
Continually impressed with their knowledge and suggestions and friendliness. Asked Michael a ton of questions about scotch, bourbon, tequila, mezcal, gave them my price range and the flavors I tend to like, and boom. Awesome shot of mezcal with a rock or two. Apparently I love mezcal now. These guys are the best and always happy to offer superior service.
Ive been excited to try out LBM since I heard it was in the works. After my first visit, I can truly say that it was worth the wait. Its clear the minute you walk in that everyone involved in the place has made it a labor of love, that goes from the design of the decor to the items on the menu (both food and drink). If youre familiar with Eric and his bar family, youll know exactly what youre getting into when you start looking at the cocktail list: fresh ingredients, unique flavors, and exacting execution. These guys are pros, and it shows in the final product.Upon first glance, the food menu instantly separates itself from typical bar fare. Perhaps simply because its so ubiquitous, I tend to use the burger as a general litmus test for new restaurants. This one did more than just hold its own, it made its way very near the top of my burger hierarchy (for points of reference, I think FlipSides Red Door burger and Lava Lounges cheese burger are A-One). The fried chicken and poutine were also both very good.Already looking forward to the next visit.Skål to the Olive Garden of viking food!
Not sure what all the hype is about. I came here with a large group and I found nothing special about this place. Plus the waitress was super rude to us. The tv was blasting bad music, and I thought the Viking theme would be funner than it actually was. Im not sure Ill be coming back to this place.
This place has been family for the two days Ive consecutively visited from out of town. I highly recommend this bar, the staff is awesome and knowledgeable and the food is amazing. Better explained like this. This place is awesome and everyone who works here is kick ass.

2021-02-26This place is really awesome. The decor and the themed drinks make it stand out. Loved that there wasn’t pop, country or classic rock playing. Went with a group of 4 and we all ordered different drinks & they all tasted amazing.

2017-10-21You knew the cocktails were gonna be spot on, what with Eric Ho behind the bar, but the food is a great surprise! Gourmet quality. I had the Brussels sprouts and pork belly, both were beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. Cool vibes, a great addition to Lakewood.

2020-02-14Gooooooo here!!! Got the fried pork rinds and my 1st Tom Collins to start off. The rinds were still crackling when they came out and were seasoned to perfection, and the cocktail was amazing. Backed that up with an Old Fashioned and a burger that was just delivered to them from one of their local sources 10 minutes prior to ordering. They killed it on the old fashioned, and my taste buds threw a party when the burger hit my pallet. Hands down one of the top 5 best burgers Ive Ive experienced throughout my vast travels.

2017-11-26Came here on a Saturday night just for drinks. Place was very crowded. We waited probably 20 minutes for a table, but the servers were very kind and attentive and made sure we had drinks while we waited. I liked the look of the place, very modern & trendy. The drinks were good, but in my opinion they arent mind blowing. We tried the Gunslinger, Crimson Seeds & the Snatcher of the Moon. The Gunslinger was the best. Must like enjoy loud Heavy Metal (Viking/Nordic) music to like this place.

2022-03-22Burger was excellent. Fries were unbearably salty. Drinks are a bit steep. Small space
